I recall there was going to be a change in the rank transfer rules just because of that.

Kita-Hinode's signature says "the IC follow-up to Northern Sunrise Islands", so it probably is connected to the first one.

Yes, but I don't know if the IC justification is still strong enough compared to past nations since the original NSI disappeared if I remember the story correctly. Some influential people were upset when I moved my team over to an unrelated nation as refugees of war who got hired out as mercenary players. Unless this new nation is the Northern/Unified Sunrise Islands in another form, this is the same thing. It appears the Hinodejin Empire is a separate country with a separate governance than USI. After a search I didn't see anything saying that they're the same nation but in some different form, even if they are inheriting USI's squad(not sure about this part either).
I don't know if the rule was actually changed but I believe the thing that other players wanted was for a nation to have to be some kind of different version of the last one to get its rank. As in, Saintland splitting and West Saintland keeping the rank, or USAR unifying a few countries ICly and changing its name. The Unified Sunrise Islands were decidedly not an empire and I don't see where it changed into one.

Perhaps we have yet to see how the two are connected? When NSI left, he didn't know if he was coming back. Maybe allow him time to actually create that connection, which may come in future RP. Unless someone leaves with a full contingency plan of how they're going to come back, it's unreasonable to assume they'll have the full backstory posted online within a few days of a return.

Northern Sunrise Islands wrote:The year was 2021 and we successfully managed to travel from this realm to a place called New Eden, habited by creatures with more power than a human could ever have. Thanks to the combined power of all the Déesses, the Hibiki Zaibatsu was able to create a portal that would allow such a massive move and with their technology, they were able to restrain foreigners from following. At least, most of them.
As in?
There were a couple of notable exceptions. People that went through the portal out of their own volition or that we simply couldn't stop. The most notable one was a football player from Chromatika.
Why didn't you stop him?
He wished to travel with us. Wanted to find peace.
Sadly, our arrival was hardly expected and as such, we were forced to face the five trials. Each former nation had to send a champion. If failure was reached, the people from that nation would cease to exist from all realities. Of the near hundred that made the trip, a total of twenty-nine managed to complete the trials.
Sadly, we were not to stay in that realm, for Arceus chose to send us to a new plane of existence. He said that we should act as a tool to unify disagreeing tribes, sparing no efforts, were it via pen or via force.
When we finished that move, we found ourselves at what would be, if our historians and cartographers are to be believed, the island of Japan. We landed at the northern portion of that island, forming twelve states, those being comprised of those that survived the trials. Those would be called the Twelve Tribes and under their consent, the Sunrisian Kingdom of Kita-Hinode was formed, under former Queen Mizzelinne of Western Sunrise and Calânia, now going under the name Queen Satomi of the Hinodejin.

Searching this thread for "deadline" seems to indicate there's sometimes a cutoff time posted at some point. But probably the best suggestion would be to find a co-host without delay and get the bid posted.Barunia wrote:What is the deadline for BoF bids?

(It could always be worse, I mentioned on IRC the other day I brainstormed Lulzy McBid Presents "Route 66: Buses of Fire" and could have opened tie-ins to either numbered highways and/or songs about them. Since the most likely outcome would be "re-open bids", I decided not to bother.)

Question though - can I enter the BoF with this account? I haven't been on NationStates in around 1 year plus
