But then again, that would be on club level. A player who did play until 50 would have long retired from international football, and served out his remaining career in a lower-league or even non-league team.
For anyone to continue playing at such a high standard of football until the age of 54, then there are three possibilities. Not supporting nor condoning this, because this is the multiverse, and anything can happen within the multiverse.
1. He's just that good.
2. It's a deliberate godmod.
3. He's a Time Lord in his second incarnation.
Just my two cents.

We probably won't have any confusion with this current incarnation, and occasional drifting into reality is likely, but don't forget what the point of this thread is for. Its not a chat thread nor is it a place to have detailed discussions about Manchester United or Brazil's goalkeeping.
Preston, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington and Burnley are all included in this point too, folks, as well as all points outside of Greater Manchester. Keep it on-topic, please.

I think that means that the first matchday on the 20th will be late at night the 20th of November American time and in the early morning the 21th for the Europeans - am I correct?

Ah, reminds me of olden days....really really olden days, when no one defended well maybe a few did - kick and run like tiny tykes before the offside rule was introduced. Seems since 1860 the pyramid has slowly moved backwards from the 1-2-7 to more of a mixed 4-2-4 which Brazil used to win the WC in 1958 and all kinds of variations along the way (I like the W-M, which is 3-2-2-3). So innovative per manager Freezus, perhaps in NS but I've not been around long enough nor remember all the tactics of other users. Similar things have been around in RL, so go with it all the same I like it!

Actually, offense-heavy formations are practically mandatory under Republican domestic rules. Republican rules means no offsides rule and an automatic penalty kick if there are more defenders than attackers in the scoring area while the ball is in the possession of an attacking player in said area.
That's why Rule Theriault is actually considered a defensive-minded coach by his nation's standards.
By the way, the Saintland National Team has played a 3-2-2-3 for the last few cycles. Nephara did an excellent job of describing the weaknesses of that in his most recent RP.

Because wouldn't you then concede a lot of penalties, given that you'd have so many players back?

Also, good luck to everyone.
