Evernote. Googledocs. Word. Notepad. Literally anything but typing up your post, unsaved, in the browser. There's a sob story just about every week where someone loses their entire RP, avoidably, because they didn't write it in a different program.

That said, leaving half an RP with the intent to go back and complete it later is one thing. Just putting an empty [Reserve for later] post is pointless, counterproductive filler.

Well done to everyone who did partake in the BoF and congratulations to the top 4. Can't really thank the hosts because I was not in it but will anyways.
One reason for when we get new threads quickly is because of these posts after every BoF, WC, CoH has finished.

I really don't see a point in sending a puppet after another just for a cup title. After you had done so, what would you do afterwards?

As much as enthusiasm is commended, I think it would be more beneficial to work on your nation instead of keeping on going to you win a BoF. BoF bonus lasts two cycles, winning it gives you a good start but you need to continue that on in subsequent WCQs instead of making new puppets with the sole intention of winning the BoF.

Not that I'm trying to discourage random posts in this thread, but, since this is a new incarnation of the thread, heres a few things to consider:

1) Messages intended for a single user are best delivered via TG. (EX: "Congratulations for X..."; "Are you going to watch Y?"; "I didn't know you were Z"; Specific Questions for a user etc.)

2) When new rankings are posted (As I presume they are about to be) - theres no need to make a reply citing your new ranking. We all have access to the file. We can see your new ranking. If you want to provide detailed analytic about the entire rankings, thats one thing. Simply stating the ranking that you, or any other nation are sitting at is just wasting space.

3) This is the NSWC discussion thread, not the RL World Cup discussion thread. We probably won't have any confusion with this current incarnation, and occasional drifting into reality is likely, but don't forget what the point of this thread is for. Its not a chat thread nor is it a place to have detailed discussions about Manchester United or Brazil's goalkeeping.

4) Constitutional amendment proposals should be taken seriously, but there is also no need to amend for the sake of amending. If it ain't broke, don't fix it?

5) Conduct yourself as you would expect others to conduct themselves with you. Don't forget, this is a game, and it should generally (read: Always) be taken as a fun place to relax, unwind, be creative - not get in fights, take things too seriously, or let emotion bleed over into reality as a result of.

6) Have fun (Per the above).

Does that mean we shouldn't try? If the message gets across to literally anyone and stops any of those inane posts, then it isn't a wasted effort.

For reference - and I'll be making a more detailed announcement in the next few days (RL has been a bitch recently, so apologies for the delay) - I won't be starting up an NS Sports chat thread. I thought I'd write that quickly since it's relevant to some of the discussion here.

But I would ask our newer members to take on board some of the etiquette issues raised over the last couple of pages here. As I've noted before, I wouldn't want to rule out some occasional banter (and I'm personally fine with the public congratulations of BoF, CoH, and WC events here so long as they don't get out of control; because they at least relate directly to the conclusion of a WCC event), but let's try not to overdo it. The last thread was getting very spammy in its last few pages.

Some of us remember what it was like trying to get posts into the NS forums in the days before we even had the Jolt forms....

Let's just say it was often frustrating.
