And thus, the BoF semifinal matches are set exactly how my countless IRC predictions said they would be.

Not that I'm fishing for recognition or praise, mind you.

Why are people posting "Reserved" or "Will add later" posts? If you're going to post later, post later, we don't need to know about it. An exception is made for the hosts who need their national information at the top of the thread where it is easy to find for those who need to reference it. There is absolutely no need for anyone else to do it. Hell, all you do is increase your chances of your RP being missed by the hosts.

This is the exact same thing that happened in the last IBC.I suggest the hosts ask someone to remove the 'reserved' posts, otherwise it just looks cluttered.

edit: Although, contemplating this further, this type of etiquette isn't known well by newbies. Nowhere does it explicitly say to not reserve posts at all. They might see the hosts reserve posts, and think that's an OK thing for them to do as well. Maybe some more awareness needed for this kind of thing perhaps (in the OP)?

I'll agree, there was quite a culture of this in the last World Cup which was very annoying for the hosts as (for me in particular), I usually would grade most of the RPs during the day, not at the cut-off, to save time, meaning it was hard to remember to go back a re-grade someone's RP.

Simple answer: don't go back to 'reserved' posts when grading RPs.

Well, I'm seeing the recent discussion about the reserved posts, we (the four scorinators of WCQ) will decide about this in conversation about how to solve this kind of happenings, but I personally consider that this isn't suggested to do because confuses the scorinators at the time of grading, I'm not totally against this type of practice (Let's be honest, I did it in the last two WC's) but the thing I'd suggest to anybody who does this is:

- Don't do it because you can or you want, do it if you really need to do this (i.e: You have a RL emergency and you won't have tim until some hours later.)

- Contact the host via TG or IRC (The way you prefer) and send the link of your post.

That's all but I'd like to make emphasis in this words "Don't do it because you can or you want, do it if you really need to do that."

The thing is, if you can't write a post now but you can later...

... just write and post your RP later?

From what I've seen, it is (and only should be) used in cases where you can write a short match report now, and are unsure whether or not it can be added upon before the cutoff. So, a provisional note is added that the RP may be edited into something more substantial later

I've done it before only when my computer decides it's going to restart to install updates while I'm writing the post. Windows 8 only lets you postpone update installation once, and if I postponed it the previous day for whatever reason, it tells me it's restarting in 15 minutes and there's nothing I can do about it. In that case, I finish it as soon as my computer restarts, but leave a note that it's incomplete. I've only had to do this twice, ever, I think, but it happens occasionally. Sometimes I will make minor changes later, like to correct spellings, but nothing major.

I don't think I'll find it but in the last World Cup or World Cup before someone asked what if we are halfway through a post and we have to leave it to come back later. It was suggested by a former host that the correct course of action would be to tell the hosts the RP isn't finished, so they know to come back later because hosts tend to grade RPs during the day and not at cut-off.

That may be why some people are posting half a RP and writing that.
You know you've made it on NSG when you have a whole thread created around what you said.

Indeed, though I tend to type it up on Word or Outlook (mainly because I do it at work so people think I'm doing work) and just save that before posting. I was just suggesting why some people may be doing this as it was said to do that sometime over the past two world cups.
