Voting results are in.
I will be leaving the list of signups un-updated until such time as the hosts of the respective tournaments make clear what their intentions are regarding numbers, either to me or in public.

According to the wishes of the World Cup hosts, the sign-ups will remain open until the end of the Baptism of Fire.

As you will have by now noticed, the Baptism of Fire has STARTED and no more entries to that competition will be accepted. Nations entering for the first time who wish to forego the Baptism of Fire (which you cannot enter as a ranked nation after one cycle) may still sign-up for the World Cup, but just be aware that you'll be doing so without any rank whatsoever.

If it means that some entrants who might not otherwise do so can enter the World Cup, Total n Utter Inanity sign up for World Cup 70, on the premise that they are withdrawn should there be other nations on the reserve list. It's hard work to defendno ranking points, but we think we are up to the task!

World Cup Host Announcement:

At present, our total number of signups is at 173, with 4 nations currently CTE'd and 4 nations on the waitlist. Should none of the CTE nations be revived before the qualifying draw, those nations currently on the waitlist will take their place in the order which they signed up in.

Based on a recent check of nation activity, it is unlikely that any further CTEs will occur prior to the draw, meaning that unless we reach 182 signups or have a current participant deleted for game/forum rules violations it is unlikely that additional signups will be able to take part in this edition of the tournament.

That said, anyone still wishing to participate this time around is encouraged to express their interest here as it's still possible that a spot may become available or that we could reach the 182-nation mark.
