As evidenced by what is said in the table. This is unfortunately the last season of Unity League. I've ended it because I felt it wasn't getting enough participation to warrant the work I put into it and thus, with this season an era pretty much comes to an end. The era of the Pan-Rushmori Leagues. While some may come after, Unity League will always be the first and while it may be ending it will certainly never be forgotten by me at least and on that note, what a fitting end to the last season. Once again, it falls to Point differential to determine the top teams and in a reversal of last season, the Virabi club, this time Thundercougarfalconbirds emerges on top. Whether or not they can keep it up in the playoffs, though has to be seen. Also, one thing about the playoffs. Since this is the last season, champions from the four associations (Potinur, Erathore, Cotdelapoms and Swartaz) who no longer compete have been invited to participate in an expanded 16 club field. In the event that any deny their invitation, teams will be taken from Unity League (starting with 13th placed Abbotsford Bears and working down) to fill out the field. The playoffs will be seeded in such a way that the extra teams play eachother first.

Transfer Market: once again the movement of Petardos S/A in the transfer window is focused in replacing players leaving or those who didn't have good performances. They couldn't blame the coach, since he won the DBC with Cafundéu, so they considered the attacking duo responsible for the failure, and replaced both. The coach went to Petardos S/A, and for his place they brought promising and young coach Henrique Silveira. All they want to do is to forget last season and do well this time.
Transfer Market: Radicci retired, Kabir went to Urajbina, and Lynch and Tico were transferred to other Primeirona clubs. So, these players had to be replaced. Traves and Zezinho are two great Cafundelense talents who came for the first two positions, but for the attacking duo the directors wanted more proven players. So, Del Nieran comes from Dunboor FC in a big move, while striker Clive Costly comes from Sorthern Northland in an even bigger one.
Fans’ Favourites: impressive how one bad season can transform idols in demons. Due to the bad performance in the previous season, the two idols left: captain Radicci retired, and Matt Lynch went to Dunboor FC. Since last season's squad managed this, they aren't making many changes.
Transfer Market: in order to keep the winning team of last season, few changes were made in Clube Comercial. For the defence, Chaves was signed and will work more as a central defender, differently from his usual position in Eldorado. For the midfield, Colorado was hired.
Fans’ Favourites: right now, Cleston holds the status of being the most loved player by the supporters. After him we have Villalobos, who plays well for both his domestic club and home nation, with Jason Olson coming right after.

It's now mid July and finally. Finally, the football season, at least the non Unity League season is set to kick off and with a field rather wide open and potentially the next ten years for the club on the line I can guarantee that each club will be going all out to secure a place in either the top flight or at the very least the second flight. Couple this with the introduction of some foreign talent which could rejuvenate some clubs, the Caps in particular, this season is going to be one of the most exciting and, as we close in on opening kickoffs around the nation, here are some of the top stories in the moment.

Virabi Clubs Struggle to Secure Foreign Players but, some find a few gems

One of the most notable stories of the recent transfer window was not a transfer but a lack of transfers. While the teams that were open to international players made no shortage of effort to obtain the finest talent that they could afford, they ran into trouble. While clubs were more than willing to pony up the players, for the right price, the players themselves had a word to say in the issue. Few of them had a desire to play in a league like Virabia's, which they thought of as not being a reputable enough league. A notion which is, unfortunately true for the most part. Unlike other leagues, which receive quite a bit of international coverage, Virabi Leagues, with the exception of Unity League, slip under the international radar. Most players and fans outside only a few nations lack knowledge of all but a few Virabi clubs. Coincidentally, many of those clubs are among the ones which have elected to remain Virabi-only, a club which includes all three of the teams that participated in the previous edition of Unity League.

Nonetheless, teams and fans remain positive about the situation as a whole. Many including Vonghurst Caps manager Neil Harris, who was the most active during the transfer window said that it was, "Only a matter of time before we will be in a position to buy bigger names and ultimately better talent. This is only our first transfer window and our first season with the new league structure so it will take time for players abroad to want to play for us. Come back in five years and I can bet that won't be a problem."

Still, despite some of the difficulty encountered in buying players, some clubs were able to emerge in a better position than they began. Vonghurst Capitols bought three players including Myntar middie Alaistair Reid who will be joining a midfield which includes Tony Grant as well as Tommy Flannigan who has repeatedly failed to make the cut for the national squad, even though he has certainly shown the skill necessary. The question for the Capitols is will the new purchases be enough. They feature one of the oldest rosters in the country and have fallen quite a ways from the glory days where they won three Virabi Championships and one can't be positive that the club won't sputter out and end up in a lower division, which, is the level that they have been playing to for quite a few years now.

Of all the clubs the biggest winner was first year Brantaland Sur club Puerta Anseres who blew their budget for the year on acquiring Erathi international Michelangelo De Mericci for the sum of £24,446,170. While some think it won't pay off others see the move as putting the club in a strong position to challenge for the title over the course of the next three or four years. At a press conference called to welcome the player to the new club he expressed excitement at the opportunity to build up a club from the ground up. He also good to enter a system where nothing is set in stone and things can be developed around the strengths and weaknesses of each player. Exactly how they fare will remain to be seen. With the exception of a few other players such as Marco Cortes and Carl Peterson the rest of their roster is nothing impressive and rather weak. So, we'll have to see what we do on that front.

Over the past few seasons, Rudolfo Brown has been the driving force behind the attack of both the CD Vonghurst as well as the National Team as well as one of the highest paid Virabi players. Both of those would no longer be true though. In a surprise decision the 30 year old Negroe-Esperanto striker announced that he would no longer be playing for CD Vonghurst and would take his talents to the all ameteur/all-negroe FC Negroe Pride. His reasons for the move was that he felt there was no longer a need for him to be paid to play football. On both ends, the move has been welcomed. CD Vonghurst teammate and long time partner up front Pédro said that it's sad to see a friend go but, on the other hand it's good that he's pursuing what he really wants to do in life. His future teammates include quite a few National Team members and all of them have said that their happy for such a talent to be joining their club.

What Happens to Unity League Teams?

With the announcement by the league commissioner that this edition of Unity League would be the last, there has been some debate what would happen to the three clubs. Today we received an answer as it was announced that the three clubs in the end, would not have to play in the sorting year and instead would automatically recieve a place in the top flight. The reasoning was that the teams have already shown through their membership of Unity League that they are able to play at the level of a Virabi top flight and thus they shouldn't have to play extra games to prove it. This announcement came coupled with the announcement that the VFA was going to rework how big each division was. The top three flights now have 20 clubs instead of fourteen and the VFA has moved away from strict state groupings for the Group leagues in favour of something that would allow a more fluid process. Below is our best attempt to outline how the system will work.

THE MEDICAL CUP GAMES

After so many seasons hiding the results of the football games in the medical games from public view, the Landau Institute has finally decided to reveal the scores of this nearly meaningless competition, as it is only a single event in the middle of an Olympics-type tournament involving other events more related with medicine, as the dyagnosis against the clock, the medicine formulation accuracy, the first-aid race, the equipment throwing and the precise surgery, between others. But as the cup gives the TQCC and GC places of Estresse Intenso, it awards at least something more than medals. So, just some notes before the results:

- only teams strictly related with medical practices can participate in the medical cup games (eliminating this way teams like for example Security, Patients, University Workers, Monks, Administrators and even others like Nutritionists, Dentists and Pharmacists)

- only the 32 best ranked teams in the league's previous season are allowed to join (and participate through a seeded draw)

- the cup involves only knockout rounds (single leg)

THE JOWENGUARD CROWN
Pre-Season competition to decide teams for International Competitions

After seasons choosing the teams to be directed to the TQCC, Globe Cup and SBCC through mysterious ways (although most followed a criteria, which changed once or twice), the CCFM finally decided to create a new competition in order to choose the teams to go to the international competitions to be played before the end of the Cafundelense season. In homage to the former president of the CCFM, Erasmo Carlos Jowenguard, the new competition was named the Jowenguard Crown. Played before the official beginning of the new season, is composed by some knockout rounds, involving teams which had good performances in the previous season: be those in the league or in the cup. The competition is divided in two "areas": the TQCC/GC and the SBCC, the winners of each one meeting in the final game to decide the Crown.

The first edition showed that the competition is a pure mess when deciding which teams would participate and which would be its format, and the CCFM directors proved that they are completely useless by repeating the same format and continuing with the mess involving this competition... the same lazyness that makes the people writing this to not update the introduction that has been always the same. For the TQCC/GC area, the 12 best teams of the league were qualified (11, as the champion is already in the TQCC), a small change from previous editions in which the 7 best were called, together with the semifinalists of the last Emperor's Cup, and the last champion of the Second Division. Current First Division league champions (Clube Comercial in this case) wouldn't participate in the Jowenguard Crown and would receive an automatic TQCC spot. Of course, there were cases of a team qualifying in both league and cup criteria. But, in these cases, no substitute would be called.

Seeds for the TQCC/GC area are the following: League 2nd (1st), Cup Winners (2nd), the qualified through the league (3rd-11th), cup semifinalists (12th) and last the current Second Division champion (13th). Top ranked teams receive byes whenever necessary for the numbers.

For the SBCC area, there is more organization, and it is easier to get which teams were qualified to play the competition and its format. There were no automatic SBCC spots, and fourteen teams were called, among relegated teams from the First Division in the last season, teams from the Second Division and last season's best Third Division teams. Of course, all of them are now in the Second Division.

The seeds are: last season's 17th placed at Division 1 (1st), 18th/Div1 (2nd), 19th/Div1 (3rd), 20th/Div1 (4th), top 8 not promoted of last season's Division 2 (5th - 12th), last season's Division 3 champions (13th) and last season's Division 3 runner-ups (14th). The first and second seeds enter only in the second round (quarterfinals).

Primera Liga 1 Summary

Some might say that the reshuffle of the old Liga Nacional has paid dividends for the TSF this season, insofar as it's stated aim to make every season competitive and unpredictable is concerned. The rise and rise of Los Mineros in the old twin-league regional system, with six Nacional titles in the last seven seasons, was the greatest threat to the success of the new Primera/Próximo Liga system in terms of national interest. But a terrible season by their own standards only gives cause for optimism for the wider picture. Yes, it was Astillero who beat them to the first PL title – the one team that has stopped them in the last seven seasons – but relative successes for Cartageñas, relegation favourites Jaguars and even Atlético's cup win means there is reason to feel hopeful for an open season next year. Add TTAD into that mix too.

The manner of Los Mineros' fourth place tells more of a story than the position itself. Going into the last game of the season they could've finished as low as 7th and way out of UICA qualification – a humiliation after their recent dominance. As it is, 4th will get them a Globe Cup place and mask a disappointing season.

For the top three, all good things come to those who build. Each of these clubs has shown extended commitment to long-term goals and they paid off this season. For Astillero, their second national title comes at a time when their youth policy is beginning to pay dividends in the league. With the second youngest average age squad in the division (ironically relegated Racing Castro were youngest) there seems a bright future ahead for The Dockers. Both Sparta and Cartageñas lived up to early billing as contenders and will want to push on.

At the wrong end of the table Racing looked way out of their depth all season long and will take time to recover from a general pasting in the league. For Arsenál Ateo, however, it was last day trap-door syndrome as a comfortable mid-table finish that had looked on the cards only a month before vanished amid the tears and recriminations. For Vanguardia, and especially much-fancied Espanyol, it was a narrow – too narrow – escape. Both will want to do better next season.

Player of the season: Masvidal, Striker, 23, Sparta Misión, 30 apps, 24 goals. Warhorse: Celebrates scoring by punching team-mates on the upper arm. Really hard.
Young player of the season: Kwesi Ferrer, 20, Striker, Astillero. 26 apps, 14 goals. Ambitious: Unusually for a Tamarindo, he wants to win everything.
La Primera Golden Boot: Masvidal (24 goals)
La Primera Golden Glove: Geovani Lindner, 38, GK, TamarPost, 30 apps, 21 conceded. Extrovert: The friendliest man in Tamarindian football - unless you're an opposition striker. Masvidal failed to score against him twice this season.

Próximo Liga 1 Summary

Almost as inevitable as Racing's relegation was TTAD's Próximo title and promotion to the top league. It was something of a stroll in an otherwise dull league, and the TSF will want something more from the Próximo next season having cashed in a big TV rights deal with global broadcasters SPIN. TTAD will give a good account of themselves next season, the ambitious little club from Tesoro surely relishing the opportunity to mix it with it's much bigger city neighbours Espanyol and Estudiantes.

While the north coast town celebrates having three spots in the top flight next season, things could not have been more different down south. For while little Cartageñas tore it up this season, for the big two down that way it was relegation into the regionals. Hueso Cruzadas and Piratas will want quick returns but it is not easy to get out of the Level 3 regionals.

Like Espanyol in the league above, Uruguayos failed to live up to their preseason billing as favourites and will thank the jumping monkeys for the narrowest of narrow escapes. Third in the Nacionál just seven seasons ago, when Los Mineros first came to prominance, the fall has been long and hard, almost going the way of recent champions Asalto, now lost in the murky depths of Regional football.

Copa del Sol 1 Summary

Creciente can consider it a job well done this season with a strong outing in the first Primera Liga topped with a great first Cup win. The team have proven to be one to watch and next season watch for a march on UICA qualification.

It was a fairly straightforward start for Los Vinateros with a home win over Marroquíes, although the 1-0 margin was a little unflattering. A potential banana-skin was avoided in the second round, winning 2-1 at Unión Sindicato who had a good season in the Próximo. Solid 2-0 wins against Espanyol (home) and Arsenál (away) followed, putting Creciente into the quarters against once-mighty Marquez. Another 1-0 win and a semi-final against surprise package AS Tito was easily managed with a convincing 4-0 victory.

So to the final against holders Atlético, after they won the rehearsal, or Prequela, against all the odds the season before. Fans favourite Peter Goossens ensured his place in Creciente history with the winning goal on 68 minutes.

Liga Regional side AS Tito really were the surprise of the tournament, getting perhaps the biggest victory of the whole competition in Round One when they beat Los Mineros out west. A glorious run to the semis unfolded, knocking out higher ranked competition in every round, including the other great shock of the competition when, in the quarters, they put out eventual Primera champions Astillero.

FKM’s first match without Brutušam Erassi was a roaring success as their passing accuracy surpassed 90%. The one nil scoreline is quite kind to Juvapanam; were it not for Gašughumi’s blinder, the orange and silver could have won by four goals or more.

Mendez missed an absolute sitter in the first half, Marcos Toledo kept getting caught out of position, and Urajbina ended the first half looking destined to be embarrassed by Pkethat Hevnaje. But Vélez’s side came to life in the second half and ultimately won.

Yastrabi will claim to have been hard done by as an errant offside ruling erased a lovely tenth-minute Hardy goal. But Zhevassi are nothing if not opportunistic; Hovi scored twice in his debut for the blue and orange to ensure the champions got a winning start.

Juvapanam nearly went balls-up against Urnabhi; after an hour of play it was still level. But Paul Clayton sent tactical nerds worldwide into an idolatrous frenzy with his triple substitution, and youth squad standout Omarjeet rewarded him with a brace.

Urajbina were cruising to an easy victory in Mahathu in minute eighty, but Francois Zezima was having none of it. His wickedly swerving outside-of-the-foot half-volley from thirty yards will surely be considered one of the premier goals in his career.

Despite only having been at the club for a few days, Starblaydia’s Pete Walker immediately made an impact for Zhevassi with his delicate flick-on to set up the winning goal: a tap-in for Ana Khorkuleva. Krevetka did their best, but it wasn’t enough.

For Angels, it was a confident home victory in Dyurtyuli. For Juvapanam, it was a fiasco of epic magnitude. They performed even worse than they had two weeks prior versus FKM, the only difference being that FKM are supposed to be better than Angels.

Khuzhu Uthassišabipa is unapologetically congratulating himself for having utilized one of the most cynical approaches ever seen in football to beat Urajbina. Xenon’s negativity may have been unsporting, but Belyakov’s headed goal ensured that it worked.

In a battle between two sides that had collected all possible six points in matchdays one and two, Zhevassi made Vulkan look like amateurs. Yakoko, Albornos, and Harishandra were all fantastic, tearing apart the Volcano in merciless fashion.

THE RAHISH BAY DERBY

The first ‘Fajr Island 3 Derby’ of the year proved to be a real classic as both Juvapanam and Urajbina were in desperate need of three points. But in the end, neither got them; Vuhumkara’s laser-like second-half free kick cancelled out Iamaxiro’s twenty-eighth-minute header. Though both teams were unhappy with the result, neutrals aren’t complaining; it was disorganized, kamikaze, end-to-end stuff for most of the ninety minutes. It’s just surprising nobody had a heart attack by the end.

Zhevassi brushed aside Pkethat Hevnaje, but it wasn’t always assured; the visitors could have taken the lead early when Tikhomirov chopped down Trubachev in the box. For some odd reason, though, the referee failed to award a penalty. Pro-Zhevassi bias?

Juvapanam lurched through yet another game in which they looked completely abysmal, only collecting all three points because Gimnasia’s Ciara Ju’Rizii missed a stoppage-time penalty. Clayton’s doing his best; are the players simply not good enough?

Itzeder Unzueta put visiting Therakham in front in the fifty-eighth minute, striking fear into the hearts of many an Urajbinian. But, luckily, Júrangil’s daring and unearthly chip from the halfway line leveled the score and saved a point for Urajbina.

Xenon tried to beat Zhevassi the same way they’d beaten Urajbina two weeks back; AKA with shamelessly negative tactics. It didn’t work, as Khorkuleva scored the winner in the sixty-ninth minute, but it did result in an ill-tempered pre-half-time brawl.

The Derby of Northwest Fajr Island, having not been played for over a decade, should have been a more exciting affair. Instead, a hopeless Dhanish Chalal were thrilled to stand around while Juvapanam contrived a way to choke once again. Boring.

Another nil-nil, though in this case at least Gimnasia were playing for the result they got. Urajbina’s reasonably fluent attack was put to sword by the seminal Daniel Levantis, whose fearlessness had Gelendzhik Stadion on its feet by the end of the game.

Therakham’s surprisingly confident start to the year continued with their visit to Zhevassi. Tor Tong Lee would have had the Black and Blue up two nil, but he missed a sitter and the Galacticos eventually scored an equalizer and then a winner.

Print up a big fat ‘Club in Crisis’ nametag for Juvapanam. As if a nil-nil draw against Yastrabi wasn’t disastrous enough, David Christ’s vicious two-foot tackle saw Leon Sartelli leave the match on a stretcher. The Krytenian will be out several months.

THE FAJR ISLAND DERBY

The tone of the biggest match in Federation football (Urajbina versus Zhevassi) was set when new Galactico Caligularana Harishandra forever won the hearts of blue and orange fans by slapping Aqhorassia Bhara in the face instead of shaking her hand in the pre-match festivities. His goal, the opening one, was just as audacious, striking a rolling ball from thirty-five yards out while at a full sprint perpendicular to the shot. The screamer sent the 7,000 visiting fans into a frenzy.

Despite it being just the eighth matchday of the year, Juvapanam made it look like it was the thirtieth in their trip to Krevetka. During some points of the match, their share of possession dropped as low as 25 percent. They might even be in relegation trouble.

Though they have often looked like a high-caliber side this year, Urajbina seem to have made a habit of settling for draws when they could be clawing out wins. Their visit to Dhanish Chalal was no exception; they equalized from Govou and then gave up.

Two one Shadows? Really? Really? The team that before this game had won only a single solitary game? That team beat Zhevassi? Oh well. Credit where credit is due; Sapano’s lovely seventy-first-minute free kick goal deserved to decide it, and it did.

Sartelli’s absence appears to have delivered a hypoxic shock to the metaphorical body of Juvapanam, who were totally demolished by the new club of former sky and silver patriots Pirdassia Bawuah and Šudhan Chahachim, Vulkan. Relegation is very possible, here.

A week after beating Zhevassi, Pkethat Šede’s silver-and-black-clad Shadows ended up on the wrong end of one of the more impressive beat-downs of the season so far. A Rudinei hat trick and a Hallvarðsdóttir screamer sealed a straightforward win for Urajbina.

Zhevassi put themselves back on track by obliterating YKY at home. Granted, two of their goals were own goals scored by YKY, but the blue and orange won’t be whining about Yakoko’s swaggering goal, scored after simply barreling past three defenders.

It took a torrential downpour in Pkethat Hevnaje for the Invincibles to win for the first time since Matchday 5, but they did. Granted, their opening goal, scored by Tnetennba, was a result of a goalkeeping howler, but Juvapanam’s ego has been somewhat healed.

Urajbina collected just one win in the first eight weeks of the year, but now, a week after trampling Shadows, they have clobbered Yastrabi in similar fashion. The three one score should have been four one; Urajbina were wrongly denied a second-half penalty.

A stalemate seemed inevitable in the showdown between FKM and Zhevassi. But Nemešiabhi Ja proved his credentials again by bringing on three youngsters in one fell swoop. Shirharbidhiku and Gorstiaga scored the winning goals for the blue and orange.

It is what Bucknia fans have been waiting for, a single unified football league for their country. After 10 teams from the 5 leagues broke apart and formed their own league Bucknia will now have matchups that were once considered only dreams.Here are the teams:

Dijohn's status as the richest and most successful team in Bucknia has made other fans give it the nickname, The Empire. Ever since winning its first league title in 1909 it has won 29 more league titles. This season Dijohn hopes to become the first Bucknia Power League Champions and its looking as this may be true with Dijohn's signing of young 18 year old striker Maurice Jackson and 20 year old midfielder Ronald Washington.

Joyner Athletic has been called the People's Team ever since its inception, when Jackson Joyner was tired of only having one club in Dijohn and decided to found a new club. DU did not want to share the city and went to court to try and prevent Joyner from founding the club. Over the lenghty court case DU implied many tactics that made people from all over Bucknia choose to support Joyner, who won the case and founded Joyner Athletic. This year predictions have them finishing third with 23 year old striker Lorenzo Joyner returning to the squad.

Info: Saturn F.C. was born from weird circumstances. The two clubs in Saturn went bankrupt after it was found that the owners had used scams to accumulate all their money and buy the teams. Saturn went 5 years without a football team until a wealthy man by the name of Jason Roones founded the team and financed it with his own money and money from supporters. The team spent the first 25 years of its existence near the bottom to mid part of the league with the exception of a second place finish and Falcon Cup upset victory against DU. This all changed in 1971 when Rudy Thompson bought a majority share of the club and hired Ryan Dylan as manager. In his 25 years as manager he brought Saturn 8 league titles and 15 Falcon Cup Titles. Saturn is affectionatly called the Roones in honor of founder Jason Roones who passed away after the team won its 2nd league title. This year Saturn is slated to place second in the league after signing no new talent, but keeping their entire Falcon Cup winning squad from last year.

Info: The city of Athena is lesser know for being a football city and more for being a basketball city. Interest in the sport reamained relatively low untill the city of Omega's football team(Omega Elite) ran a parade through Athena celebrating their Falcon Cup win, with Omega fans vandalising stores with grafitti. Buisnessmen got together and decided to form up a football club. In the 85th minute after WRU scored the 4th goal Omega player Fabio Devine talked trash to WRU player Wayne Malex and proceeded to punch him in the face. A brawl ensued and all starting 11 Omega players were red carded and banned 10 games from their league and the Falcon Cup. Omega's biggest rivalry is with Athena F.C. in which they have only lost twice to their rivals. This season Omega is expected to place 5th.

Maria is known as the magic men, because of their improbable run in which they were expected to finish last in the league and ended up winning both the league and the Falcon Cup. Maria's main rival is Saint Lafayette in what is called the Culture Derby because of both teams historic cities. Maria is expected to finish 6th.

St. Lafayette is expected to finish 7th.

Oddsmakers predicted a 5-1 Omega win, but the actual result could not have been more different. WRU won the match 4-0 in what is considered the bigest upset in Falcon Cup final history. WRU's rivals Wilmington F.C. were not one of the teams this year to be considered for the Bucknia Power League, however there have been talks about including them in an expansion of the league.They are expected to finish 8th.

Island Jam F.C.

The Rastas are know for their pre-game antics(such as flirting with female fans), their personal cheer squad with the hottest women in Bucknia, and their goal celebrations. They compete in the second fiercest and most violent rivalry in all of Bucknia, The Red Reef Derby, with Freemont F.C. The name comes from 1) The Maligo Reef that seperates the Marley Islands fromm the coastal city of Freemont and 2) The fact that over the coarse of the rivalry 10 people have been murdered over the results of games and many hundreds more have been injured. Over the years the violence has died down, but this rivalry is still fierce. Island Jam is expected to finish 9th.

Freemont supporters know that this is not true, however the teams they field like to act the way that Bucknia percieves them. Freemont F.C. is known for flipping off visiting fans and disrespecting opponents and referees alike. One incident occured when a player from Freemont was red carded and he proceeded to punch the referee in the face, knocking him out cold. Freemont is expected to finish 10th.

Sorthern Football League – 2056 season

With the ongoing preparations for the hosting of the World Cup this season of Sorthern football will see little in the way of wordy bollocks match by match reviews for the international press. Hooray!

Sciath Uachtaráin

Despite it largely being bollocks we might rustle up a few words about the Sciath Uachtaráin though. Corcaigh went into the match as slight favourites, and given that they were playing Red Star the match had more meaning than it usually would. Corcaigh had five titles going into the match and they remained on that as Red Star put the same number of goals past them for a crushing early season derby victory.

Division One

Sparrowbottom have been knocking upon the higher third or so of the division for a while now and have competed in UICA competitions on a number of occasions. Their championship (despite losing 3-1 to Beningrad on the final day, a result which kept the latter up, not a fix and you can't prove anything) though is their first and could mark the start a new elite in the game. Or Corcaigh or Snowspire will win it again next season and all will be back to normal. Or the establishment will help out Beningrad again.

Division Three

The third tier was a close run race with Leahton edging Wollongo to the title by just a single point. That final point for Leahton came away to Newstoke who having finished three points behind the champions will also be making an upward journey to Division Two. Following a season of mid-table mediocrity in 2055 Revolutionaire opted to change their name to Révolutionnaire and it nearly paid off as the addition of a smidgen of Cabañas effect propelled them to a sixth place finish that was five points short of promotion. At the bottom founder members of Division One Locomotiv Shingon find themselves a long way from where they started.

Division Four

Of the three sides who came down from Division Three last season two of them bounced straight back up, the other almost bounced straight out of the bottom of the division. Tetherton and Dynamo Heltzburg were the two to bounce on the trampoline, though both missed out on the title to Tetherton, Dynamo despite scoring an extraordinary one hundred and twelve goals, whilst Euskara Portuezki fell off the trampoline in painful fashion. It was Weardbeleah who were the bottom finishers though, but they as usually happens made the most of their reprieve in the relegation play-off.

League champions in 2053, Rodrigo Abreu will be disappointed with an eleventh place finish in the league in his first full season in charge of Castrograd. The club's second Corn an Taoisig win though will have gone some way to making up for that. Opponents Felland Marsh having won Division Two last season were looking to add their second major piece of silverware to their trophy room. The outsiders got off to an impressive start with Mollie Bishop, a twenty year old centre-back who has been hugely impressive throughout the season rising to score from a corner in the seventeenth minute. Felland Marsh were in truth the better side for much of the first-half, but whatever words Señor Abreu gave to his side during the break worked with Castrograd almost appearing to be a different team in the second-half. Alejandro Carmona, a shoe in for the World Cup squad scored the leveller five minutes after the hour mark. Castrograd forwards Joana and Joaquim Crescas have long also been part of the national set up, rumours however abound that Joaquim looks set to miss out when the World Cup is held in the nation. If his volley that won the match with ten minutes remaining doesn't impress Iarlaith Mag Aonghusa sufficiently little will.

ZHEVASSI: A MILE OUT IN FRONT! JUVAPANAM: IN RELEGATION DANGER!

Nobody would get that mad if we just gave the trophy back to Zhevassi already, right? I mean, it’ll save on transportation costs later on, because the Galacticos are going to win the league again, it's obvious! There isn’t a single player on the squad who’s been having a bad year so far… Khorkuleva’s been everywhere on the pitch; Yakoko’s been a tenacious midfield terrier; Walker’s been an instant leader in the back four… even a bunch of youth players have come in and been useful!

Meanwhile, Urajbina are struggling, but they’re at least within striking distance of the UICA spots. As long as they keep scoring goals, they’ll be fine. Juvapanam, on the other hand… they have been so bad, so lethargic, so lacking in the determination that used to define the club… they really do look like a team that could go down!

It's indisputable. The best three teams in the Federation, and probably the whole world, are Juvapanam, Urajbina, and Zhevassi. The pinnacles of footballing greatness, these three have the best players, the best managers, the best fans, the best stadiums, the best shirt designs, the best team buses, the best collectable ball-point pens... the best everything! And to think they're all from the Pazhujeb Islands - well, it just makes you proud. The only bad thing about these three is that we have to watch them waste time with the other teams in the league. Triple frowny face.

What a joke. Yes, Juvapanam have now yanked themselves a fair distance from the drop zone. Get this, though: it took a late second-half penalty to beat Xenon, but replays later showed that Iamaxiro had dived to win the spot kick. This victory rings hollow.

While Juvapanam were getting lucky, Urajbina were getting screwed as they faced off with YKY. It was the seventy-first minute, the score was one all, and Hallvarðsdóttir’s through ball had just found Vuhumkara’s feet wide-open inside the 18. Foul! Penalty, right? Uhh…

Urnabhi’s late goal distorts the scoreline of their game versus Zhevassi; it was scored while shorthanded. In actual fact, the thirty-second minute sending-off for the Spiders' star left back Vaskaryev made the match one of the most one-sided of the whole season.

Finally, Juvapanam threw together a comfortable-looking performance. Their third win on the trot featured a clinical dismantling of Therakham’s defense and Šušan'ikara Ghur’s first goal of the year (yes, it really did take this long): a sweetly bending free kick.

Urajbina at last seemed to have their shit together, but then they brought back their tradition of losing to Krevetka! Not only did they lose, they gave away two entirely moronic penalties, one a Marcos Toledo handball and one a dumb ankle-trip by Bhara.

Remember that little flick-on off of that corner from Walker to Khorkuleva? Zhevassi v. Krevetka, Matchday 2? Well, apparently it’s a training ground piece. In a carbon copy of that goal, Walker headed down to Khorkuleva’s feet and Zhevassi defeated Angels.

THE SKY BLUE DERBY

What do you get when you combine a team that is artificially overconfident and riddled by injuries with a team that has recently appeared in the last sixteen of the TQCC? No, the answer is not ‘a close game.’ Zhevassi absolutely hammered Juvapanam this week. The win was so comprehensive that it led Zhevassi fans (still bitter about Juvapanam’s back-to-back-to-back titles between 5244 and 5246) to mercilessly chant ‘Who The Fuck Are Juvapanam?’ in a mockery of the Invincibles’ unofficial anthem.

Purists wet themselves worldwide as Urajbina and FKM threw caution to the wind in this thrilling game. You will never see a more dramatic stoppage-time own goal, with an FKM defender’s clearing header floating agonizingly over the head of a hopeless keeper.

A week after the Disaster in Zhevassi, as it has become known, Juvapanam narrowly but unhurriedly defeated Shadows. Jawad Khan scored the lone goal by slotting home a Qaavigaaq shot that had cannoned off the post. They could have added an insurance goal, too, but Ghur missed a penalty.

Urajbina defeated Vulkan in a match that was overshadowed by a gruesome mid-air head-to-head collision between Marcos Toledo and Lorenzo Ruiz. The latter got the worst of it; even Urajbina players showed genuine and urgent concern when Ruiz was unconscious for a full minute after the incident. Luckily, it seems to have been only a concussion.

Read our lips: Stachland international Ratin Beenum’s goal against Zhevassi was the goal of the season. Not only was it visually superb, as he dribbled no less than seven Galacticos players in his zigzag journey from his own half to the goalmouth, but it was a dramatic eighty-third-minute final blow in what ultimately was the best performance any team has mustered against the blue and orange juggernaut all season. We at Pazhujebi Sport tip our hats to Gimnasia on their splendid unexpected victory.

When Zosimus Ujubnu converted a first-half penalty for YKY, the hearts of Juvapanam fans fluttered; it seemed as though they were headed for yet another catastrophe. But the Invincibles rallied after half time and ultimately won comfortably.

No one knew what the hell was going on when Urajbina came out of the tunnel for the second half, the score tied at one, with Steffan Pekarik lined up as a striker. But Vélez’s gamble worked a treat as the Tern assisted on both of Urajbina’s second-half goals to beat Urnabhi.

After tripping up against Gimnasia, Zhevassi took no chances as they dismantled bottom-of-the-table Dhanish Chalal. The highlight was Claudio Albornos’ forty yard free kick, a bending, dipping cannonball that bulged the onion bag to make the score three-nil.

Juvapanam nearly let FKM come to the Sampa Gumbada Stidiyama and steal all three points, but Ghur’s nifty little dummy on a medium-length free kick set up Qaavigaaq to obliterate a low-to-the ground shot through the defense to snatch a point right at the death.

Something about Pkethat Hevnaje is kryptonite to Urajbina. Remember how the Red and White almost embarrassed Urajbina on Matchday One? Well this time, in the comfy confines of their own stadium, they did. Trubachev scored the winner in the thirty-seventh minute to send the visitors home in shame.

Albornos was accused of showboating after using a backheel to score a penalty against Yastrabi, but we at Pazhujebi Sport reject this as false. The score was three nil to Zhevassi at full time; what’s wrong with reminding the Hawks of their place?

Bloody hell, Juvapanam are complete rubbish this year. Sure, Urnabhi have been a stubborn opponent for other teams this year, but… Jesus Christ. As you can tell from our tone, the Spiders won. Vaskaryev put away a penalty in textbook fashion, destroying it into the net hard and low.

The way Ugo Stowell dismissed Chaya Vuhumkara before this season was more than a little rude… he was basically deemed surplus to requirements and was sold to Urajbina. We all agreed with Stowell, though! I mean, Vuhumkara is so old! It’s not like he could provide three assists in one game or something… oh… wait…

With the drizzle falling on an actually-somewhat-warm day in Kagdazka, you could always kind of tell that Zhevassi were going to feel a little too at home to lose to Krevetka. And they didn’t. Omelchenko’s long-overdue first hat-trick of the year sealed the deal.

Juvapanam lost. Again. They could’ve taken the lead in the seventieth minute, when it was one all. But Ghur struck the penalty over the bar. (It was his third missed penalty of the year. If this is his last season, it’ll be a damn tragedy that it ended like this.) Durai later nabbed a late winner for Angels.

Xenon claimed an away victory over Urajbina earlier this year, and did so in quite a cynical, ugly way. The Yellow, Red, and Blue got their revenge, though. After he scored the winner, Hakan Mendez was booked for mocking the home fans with a certain rear part of his body.

Three one Zhevassi over Vulkan sounds like a pretty comprehensive victory, but in actual fact it should have been even more of a blowout. Both Blanc-Senac and Bawuah managed to evade punishment for tackles in the box that ought to have been penalties.

This was it: Juvapanam’s last chance to save some shred of dignity from this the crappiest of crappy seasons. It was scoreless for the first seventy minutes of the game, until the last twenty minutes when both sides started to click. Juvapanam drew first blood, with left back Virginia Lomi slaloming inside after being fed well by Ragnarsson and unleashing a screamer past Marinho. But Urajbina didn’t wait around. Like a double-barreled shotgun, they urgently pressed into Juvapanam’s half to nab two scrappy goals and save their own not-so-fantastic season.

Meanwhile, Zhevassi beat the living daylights out of Pkethat Hevnaje, continuing their rampage toward a third consecutive title. Hovi finished after a breakaway to open the account for the Galacticos, and once Albornos and Harishandra had collected goals of their own, he scored again for Zhevassi’s fourth.

Uhh… has anyone noticed that Gimnasia haven’t lost since Matchday Fucking Ten? Holy shit. Evidently that sublime performance they put in against Zhevassi wasn’t just a flash in the pan. But would the wounded animal known as Juvapanam end that streak? Ha ha ha, of course not! An error in defense allowed Filipov to stroll into the penalty area unmarked and calmly slot it past Gašughumi for an easy equalizer. The draw sends Gimnasia soaring improbably into second place.

Almost without anyone noticing, Urajbina have nearly doubled their tally in the ‘wins’ column over the past four weeks. A trip to Mahathu wasn’t even the least bit intimidating for Ignacio Vélez’s side, as they controlled every aspect of play after Rudinei scored early. Are the Yellow, Red, and Blue making a run for the UICA spots?

Stick a fork in it. The title’s won, and there are ten bloody matchdays left in the year. With a victory over Xenon, their sixth victory in a row, Zhevassi have placed themselves an insurmountable fourteen points clear at the top of the table. They sure are top class.

JUST season cancelled over Ad’ihani league conflict

Orean, LIVENTIA (RAI Sport)— The Football Federation of Ad’ihan has withdrawn from this year's UICA-qualifying Joint Unified System Tournament, Liventian footballing authorities say.

"We have been made to understand that the AFF is facing internal issues regarding the organisation of the league this season, and we have been informed that Ad’ihan will not be sending any teams to JUST this season and that we should forward to the UICA our international qualifiers as such," a spokesman for the Football Association of Liventia told RAI Sport.

"The FAL wishes the AFF the best for the smooth resolution of its internal issues, and hopes the Joint Tournament will resume in future."

Banned from league, three suspended teams to contest Ad’ihan Cup

CITY OF AD’IHAN— It was confirmed today that Protectorate United, Mountbatten Junction and CF Mont-Pluie will not compete in this season's League Championship, following the three clubs' decisions not to appeal their suspensions from the body. Instead, the three clubs—plus Oldbridge City—will contest the Ad’ihan Cup, which will, as a one-off, afford the winner a Globe Cup spot.

The league will go ahead but with the season already much-delayed, only a single round-robin will be conducted, with a shortened season in two of the three divisions. Oldbridge Sabres, Coastal County and Pilminster Rovers, the three clubs relegated from the top flight last season, are to regain their top-flight status to replace the three suspended teams. Major League teams will play just 19 games each this season. The 11 teams in the Prime League will play a double round-robin schedule instead of a triple round-robin, playing 20 games each, while teams in the Minor League will play a regular double round-robin, playing 22 games each.

With the JUST season now cancelled, the top three Major League teams will qualify for the TQCC, with the next two teams qualifying for the Globe Cup. The winner of the Ad’ihan Cup will qualify for both the Globe Cup and the Cygnus Cup, but if Oldbridge City win the national cup and have already qualified for UICA tournaments through the League, the Globe Cup spot will default to the runner-up.

The Ad’ihan Cup will be contested this season as a quadruple round-robin group stage between the three suspended teams. The second placed team will then play Oldbridge City in a two-legged semi-final, with the winner of the tie meeting the round-robin winner in the final.
