Breaking News: Cailéan to Niccostrato F.C. in Erathore, Braonán Cabelinho to Queenstown Prime F.C.

The Forza Poinsettia League confirmed just a short while ago a flurry of transactions that have taken place amongst the top clubs of the league. Sources indicated as early as Wednesday night that Queenstown Prime's premier Forward (and prominent National Team fixture) Cailéan could be sold off to an international club abroad. Today, Queenstown officials confirmed that the Forward has indeed been sold to the Erathi club, Niccostrato F.C. According to Team President Jean Neville, the move was designed to facilitate the advancement of several promising talents to the main roster while shedding Cailéan's sizable contract, which was set to expire at the end of the upcoming season.

Queenstown didn't loiter, however, and quickly made a huge splash by picking up an impact player to replace the departing star. Forward Braonán Cabelinho, formerly of the Erathi F.C. Mildrid club, has been purchased to replace Cailéan on the pitch. Insiders suggest that Cabelinho is an upgrade to the younger Cailéan, and will propel Queenstown back to the Poinsettia Cup this coming season. Neville explained: "It's our goal to produce the best football possible. Braonán Cabelinho makes us a better football team, so we had to make the deal."

Queenstown made two more transactions on Friday, picking up the rights to two more international players: twenty-five year old Center Back Henri Vrass from Tergnitz and versatile nineteen year old Midfielder Jean-Claude de Saguenay from Avenio.

Capodimonte, Austravora+

Officials from the Forza Poinsettia League confirmed another series of transactions on Friday; these stemming from the recent U-21 Initiative begun by Poinsettia League officials. The Starblaydi U-21 Squad has produced three of the recent international acquisitions. The rights to ninteen year old GK Juan Previoso of Starblaydia have been purchased by Merriam Azalea F.C., while the rights to eighteen year old CB Kardolan Bujak of Starblaydia have been purchased by Shire de Bonn F.C. Nor'Calais didn't waste much time in getting into the act, acquiring the rights to nineteen year old SC/AM Darius Vancheri.

The U-21 Initiative is a program launched by the Poinsettia League in hopes of attracting unsigned U-21 talent from world-ranked national teams. The move would allow the League to draw a larger fan base with the international presence, and give national teams the chance to send their otherwise unsigned talent off to play in a professional league.

Royal Cup Round of 32

The luck of the draw paired Royal Rumiatzi and Iturributa United in the round of 32; what was expected to be a narrow encounter ended in the former calmly dispatching their rivals as if they were a second tier team. Elsewhere, Ibarbe Polo Club defeated Urbizania Wanderers to seal the only great upset of the competition.

This matchday offered a golden opportunity for Sporting to close down on South Factory's lead, but Blue Mountain Range got away with a point thanks to their ultradefensive play. Victory wasn't so wasteful, dismissing Wanderers with a terrific header from Sergei Frank. Royal Rumiatzi took a beating from an inspired Iturributa Racing Club, while United at least earned a win over bottom-feeders University.

The top of the table remained much the same after this matchday, with Factory earning some breathing space with a win over Victory and Sporting overcoming Iturributa Racing Club in a close match. Royal Rumiatzi were once more embarassed, this time by Astograth University, and Blue Mountain Range beat an increasingly frustrated Ituraitz. United pummeled The Army Club and climbed back to fifth place, in what may prove to be the turning point in their season.

Or maybe not, as a scandalous away loss to 15th-placed Royal Association has Iturributa in an uproar. Half of it, at least, as a Brexio hat-trick over University narrowed the gap between Sporting and South Factory to a single point. Elsewhere, Wanderers defeated a lazy Blue Mountain Range to stay in the top ten, while Royal Rumiatzi continues its mediocre performances and slowly gets left behind in the title race.

South Factory tripped for the the second time in a row and Sporting pounced, securing the three points against The Army Club and taking hold of first place for the second time in the season. Royal Rumiatzi finally ended their winless streak and rekindled their hopes by beating Association in yet another high-scoring game.

At the league's halfway point, Sporting took advantage of another draw by South Factory to put three points between them, while an Urtatz Soreasu brace has Blue Mountain Range dreaming with the title once more. Royal Rumiatzi and Iturributa United are hot on their heels, though, confident that they can still leave behind their poor starts. Wanderers have also recovered, and are just above the two clubs from Ituraitz in the standings following losses for both of them.

Royal Cup Round of 16

The Royal Cup continued its normal course, save for Royal Rumiatzi's surprise elimination by defending champions Ituraitz Victory. Going on this the Blues are already anticipating another Cup triumph, and with two of the Big 4 already knocked out they could have a real chance.

Things are going downhill for South Factory. While losing to University, their top scorer Itzaina Erreka recieved a brutal tackle and will be spending the rest of the season on the sidelines recovering from the resultant knee injury. Six points now separate Sporting and Factory, but there are many to be played yet.

The highlight of this matchday was no doubt the high-scoring derby between Rumiatzi and United. With caution thrown to the wind both teams found a style they were comfortable with and displayed all their ability on the pitch of Knights' Stadium, Rumiatzi narrowly coming out the winners and United accusing of referee bias.

Breakaway league talks stall; Ad’ihani football in crisis

CITY OF AD’IHAN (RAI Sport)— Talks between the chairmen of four clubs advocating of a breakaway top-flight football league have stalled, RAI Sport has learned.

Oldbridge City, one of the clubs originally behind the proposal for a new two-tiered 24-team Super League, are understood to have withdrawn their support of the plan after separate talks with delegations from the other 28 Ad’ihani clubs playing in the United Islands League Championship. Representatives from the Football Federation of Ad’ihan (AFF) and the 28 clubs later issued a joint statement calling on Mountbatten Junction, Protectorate United and CF Mont-Pluie, the remaining three teams backing a breakaway league, to reconsider their position.

The four clubs originally proposed the breakaway for financial reasons, despite already being the only clubs given the right to run reserve teams in the league system. In an extraordinary general meeting of the AFF Competitions Committee, the 28 clubs against a breakaway league, who are also petitioning the committee to end the "special arrangement" for the so-called Special Four, unanimously voted to suspend the four clubs unless the threat of a breakaway league was withdrawn. However, the motion was defeated as the AFF neutrals and representatives of the Special Four all voted against.

A spokesman for Oldbridge City later confirmed that the club had "clearly heard the voice of its counterparts in the league" and had decided to withdraw its support for a breakaway league, while acknowledging that "fundamental change remains needed in our game". Marc Estrop, chairman of defending league champions Hatton Town, later released a statement on behalf of the other 28 Ad’ihani clubs announcing a boycott of all AFF tournaments until the AFF agreed to its demands to end the minor league system and to suspend any clubs threatening to break away.

Oldbridge City, which have not signed up to the boycott, have confirmed it will voluntarily not enter its B team into the upcoming Minor League season, in lieu of the AFF ending the minor league system.

If the situation is not resolved by the start of season 30, the following scenarios are possible:
The 28 clubs boycott the season, leaving a four-team Ad’ihan Cup, a five-team Major League, a three-team Prime League and an eleven-team Minor League;
The 28 clubs and Oldbridge boycott the season, reducing the Ad’ihan Cup and Major League each by a further team; or
The AFF suspends the remaining three breakaway teams, leaving a 29-team Ad’ihan Cup, a 17-team Major League, a 12-team Minor League and an unaffected 14-team Prime League.

"Ultimately, the best situation would be one in which we have a 32-team Ad’ihan Cup, a 20-team Major League and a 12-team Minor League," Marc Estrop says. "No breakaway, and an end to the Minor League system."

PSV Stavropol have finally been putting on a performance greater than the sum of their already impressive squad list, having lost only one game. Red Star Kemenovsk FC, despite being the current champions and the bookie favourites, have had a bad start to the season, sinking to 8th position following a particularly embarassing defeat to 18th AIK Vilnosnyvetzsny Ice (who appear to be struggling to escape the relegation zone once again). The powerful teams of CSKA Tsaritin Saints and Zenit Berlinengrad have also been having bad seasons, and most pundits are surprised to see clubs such as Racing Club Liyakovski and Primorsky Cape MSV rise into the top 4 in their place (especially Primorsky Cape, a team that rose from the Championship only two years ago).

CSKA Tomska might have been forgiven for wishing they hadn't sacked their ex-manager, Byshovetsiy, following Chetkosk's quarter-final finish in the 43rd Baptism of Fire. However, the Tomska club have vindicated the decision by topping the Championship halfway through the season with their new manager Gison Bulshodavski. Viking Kzerstavo continue to prove to the world that they deserve their position in the tier above the provincials, and FC Yusev Mariners look strong in their hunt for a promotion place.

The Municipal rejoice as they top the province halfway into the season, and with six points clear between them and a menacingly strong KSG Einfelt squad. Yaroslavl Collective FC have had an excellent start despite many believing they would go straight down to the amateur tier this season. The same cannot be said for the other of the city's clubs, Yaroslavl Ironopolis FC, who lie in 19th place and are crippled with an injury-riddled squad.

Baltiysk provides another peculiar top table half, with Lazarev Club TSG claiming the top spot while typical high flyers TSG Rutyenir Diamons, FK Vursch Academicals and NK Abakan Dragons trail behind. 1910 Cheremvoko are disappointed with their performance so far, having sold a lot of their strong players and not spent the resulting cash wisely. However, fans have been satisfied with the brand new 36,000 seater stadium in the heart of the Cheremvoko conglomeration, designed by Chetkosk-born architect Dil Frankolvo.

Inter-Yusev FFC have been lacking in striking power this season, most likely due to the departure of international player Vyacheslav Torbinskiy and the hole in their offensive strength that he has left in his wake. Seaspray Athletik once again prove they are worthy of remaining above the amateur tier, and do so with greater style and skill than the team that was promoted together with them, Makhstav Town Cannons. The Cannons are 16th in the division, two places fellow Amateur Shield winners Ice Floe '72 IFK.

The relegation zone is looking equally contested, with the bottom four teams of the province each sharing 17th place with 17 points. Seskerin Hotspur FC have defied both the fans and the pundits and have struggled to get the points they deserve.

Seleucius Football League

After two complete seasons of being close to the title, Club Atlético Seleucius Juniors finally won the third edition of the Primera Division. With a record amount of 87 goals scored in 30 matches, the all attacking team won 18 matches, draw 6 and lost 6. Just behind came Asociación Deportiva Platense, the defendig champions, and Club Deportivo San Martín de La Plata. Both teams ended with the same amount of points, so the second place was difined by goals for and Platense won with 63 against the 53 scored by San Martín. Racing Club de La Plata ended up fourth, just two points behind San Martín and five above Gimnasia y Esgrima de Liniers. Top Scorer of the season was Martín Marzoli, who scored nothing less than 34 goals. Román Estévez, Marzoli's teammate, was crucial in this award, giving Marzoli 23 assists. This season also was the one when the first transfer out of the country took place: Fabián Taggliafico, the 23 years old striker formed in Club Atlético San Isidro moved to Ituraitz FC from the Grand Duchy of Astograth.

League Cycle V Preview
So, season five. How has time flown so quickly. It seems only yesterday that we were celebrating the formation of the integrated Federation League and the exciting prospects for Polarian football, and only five seasons later we find ourselves with a team in the Globe Cup group stages, and with the national football teams learning quickly from their own experiences abroad. Elsewhere, FC Cape St Paul have made great strides to embolden their squad for the coming season, and they clearly not looking to relinquish their position from last season lightly. SK have signed Mytanar striker Sami Wunderlich in a bid to regain their title, though Jan Mayen appear to be placing their faith in the squad as it is. East Frnaz meanwhile, have signed another Mytanar for the future in the shape of Ty Irvin.

Preview: Caused an absolute sensation in the league last season, and have struck out for huge purchases to try and cling onto those heady heights. The addition of Chueran gives the midfield yet more steel, and a solid attacking base from which Havlock Thompson and Gunnar Mackenzie can strike.
Last Season: 3rd.
Prediction: Will probably finish very well again, but lightning is unlikely to strike twice so highly. 5th.

East Franz Athletic

Preview: Fjelden has made great leaps and strides with this team recently, taking them from mid-table into international competitions. Berghoff and Blonqvist have proved lethal as a strike partnership, and if they get it right again expect to see East Franz perform well. Ole Gyulla from Mytannion provides leadership and protection for young keeper De Zooijt at back, whilst youth prospect Baalsen will be given many a chance to bomb down the wing terrorising defenders. Ty Irvin and Pierre Arribagé have been brought in to strengthen the midfield.
Last Season: 4th.
Prediction: Have made some great signings, and have started bearing the fruits of their top class youth academy. 3rd.

Resolute Storm 1913 FC

Preview: Always there or thereabouts come the end of the season, Resolute Storm have finished 2nd, 3rd, 3rd and 5th in the seasons so far. McAllister has left for new shores, but Mackenzie is a brilliant acquisition, and could drive the team back into the Globe Cup spaces.
Last Season: 5th.
Prediction: Can they steal 4th back? We think so. 4th.

RSK Longyearbyen Town
Location: Longyearbyen, Svalbard

Preview: You just never know which Longyearbyen team is going to turn up on the day, the bored and uninterested selection of saps, or the fierce and battling tenacious pitbulls of Sivertsson Road. Whilst their home support is key to their home performances, they do tend to wither up when travelling somewhere, and Miroslav Pvanic must find a way to work Merkens in with the strikers more efficiently, as teams higher up the table are circling him eagerly. The loss of Glubev also calls on Merkens to perform well for Longyearbyen this season, they may sink otherwise.
Last Season: 6th.
Prediction: Could finish as high as they did last season, could plummet. Who knows? 11th.

FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls

Preview: Finished well last season despite most predictions, and despite losing out on the signature of Vagn Rosenmeyer, there remains an optimistic air about Stadion Solberg, quietly confident that the youth ranks will turn out some more gems of the likes of Finnibaturinn sooner rather than later. His departure means more rest on the shoulders of Legeren this season however.
Last Season: 7th.
Prediction: Could feasibly finish anywhere from 5th to 12th, but I think they'll go one better than last season and pip their North Star rivals once more. 6th.

North Star Grímsey

Preview: Climbing steadily year by year, North Star have constructed a well built team that doesn't rely on superstars to get results, instead working like a supremely designed engine to get the job done. Were one of four teams to finish joint on 48 points last season, one point outside the Globe Cup spots, just going to show how close these upper central batch of teams are. Could young Erathi signing Victor Brexio be the key?.
Last Season: 8th.
Prediction: Are they pushing forwards faster than the other teams around them? 7th.

Preview: Just escaping relegation in their first season since winning Divisjon Two, Axel Heiburg consolidated their position last season by making sound progress in their technical skills. Can pass many a team off the park on their day but still suffer from defensive frailties, U21 keeper Jan Rasmus has made the jump to the first team, and could be crucial.
Last Season: 9th.
Prediction: A year of consolidation for Axel Heiburg, apparently they have something big lined up for next season, but for now its treading water. 8th.

FC Torshavn
Location: Torshavn, Farosea

Preview: The discoveries of Jorgen-Franz Bru and Torre Urfstadt could prove to be a crucial pair, and if they can withhold the attentions of SK, their presence could keep them in the division. And as long the delivery gets to cult fans favourite, Erathi striker Michael Osic, they should score enough. The question is how many can they keep out?
Last Season: 10th.
Prediction: Overperformed last season perhaps, I think they may now deserve to be that high up. 9th.

Yuzhny Equinox FC
Location: Yuzhny, Novaya Zemlya

Preview: A third placed finish in the inaugural season may have been a fluke, as Yuzhny fans have had to suffer mid-table results since then. Commerce Park is looking tired and shabby and the boardroom's attentions may not be fully on the pitch. No big signings have been made, but they can count on the ever-loyal Dmitri Karlsson to prove why he is still the Terns' first choice and keep them in games.
Last Season: 11th.
Prediction: I don't see anything from this team to suggest that anything other than mid-table is in their grasp. 10th.

Red Star Severny

Preview: Fans were delighted to be able to compete in the same division ass Torshavn again last season, and they stayed in the division with games to spare. The stars have all been poached by bigger teams however, and the captaincy now rests on the young Juul at only 18. A bright future awaits him no doubt, but is this too soon?
Last Season: 13th
Prediction: Could be a disasterous season for them. 16th.

SK Aasiaat Harbour

Preview: Moving up as champions of Division Two, Aasiaat are determined to make their stay in the top tier last longer than a solitary season this time, and do not want to be known as a yo-yo club. Despite this, have been unable to attract any top names to their ranks and may struggle.
Last Season: Champions, Divisjon Two
Prediction: They could well do it this time, and stay a season. It will be mighty close, though. 13th.

FC Solovetsky Monastery

Preview: The Monks are in Divisjon One. Scarecely believable at first, you rub your eyes even further when you see the preparations they are making to stay in the top flight. Last Season: 2nd, Divisjon Two
Prediction: Will fight to the very end, but this may be a step too far. 15th.

FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla

Preview: And you thought seeing Solovetsky in the top flight was weird. Bjarnarey, that floating town of barges and launches and pilots and boats and all sort of walkways, yes, that Bjarnarey, is in the top flight. It means for the first time that the big four of Norscelt are all in the same division, taking up a quarter of the teams in Divisjon One. Key signing Eiric Ó Cuana will be relied on to come up trumps throughout the season if this plucky bunch of die-hards from the floating stadium are to stay in the top flight for another season.
Last Season: 3rd, Divisjon Two
Prediction: I'm sorry, I would love to see these guys in the top flight for years to come, but the best fans in the league may just have to be disappointed. 14th.

The season is over, and what a rollercoaster it proved to be! Let's have a look at who our champions are, and the FAF awards as well.

Demolition was this round's key word, with Ituraitz, Factory and Sporting all facing little opposition. The other Ituraitz, Victory that is, struggled to overcome a Rumiatzi United determined to continue the tradition of Second Division teams in the semi-finals. Alas, the blues proved why they're the defending champions.

The final third of the league opened with defeats for the league leaders at the hands of the resurgent Ituraitz FC and Iturributa United. Blue Mountain Range recorded a win over Association to get within sight of the top spot, while Royal Rumiatzi failed to take advantage with a bleak draw against Wanderers.

Sporting once more nab the lead from South Factory with goals by Didi and Ouellette, with their rivals Rumiatzi unwittingly helping them by holding Factory to a draw. And following inspired performances by Nanklares and Merec, Iturributa United find themselves in a more respectable fourth place. At the other end of the table things look very difficult. The 14th-placed Royal Association is a full 8 points behind 13th-placed Lermendia FC, which confirms that their chances of avoiding relegation are increasingly slim.

South Factory felt Itzaina Erreka's absence as they let the match against Ituraitz slip out of their grasp. Sporting weren't so permissive against Victory, and Royal Rumiatzi came out in front in a thrilling Capital Derby.

Factory's dreams of finally winning some silverware were shattered as a defeat to Wanderers leaves them nine points away from Sporting, who recieved some aid from Blue Mountain Range in shaking off Royal Rumiatzi. Of note was the Ituraitz Derby, which despite lacking any real stakes was a feast for the fans.

There will be very real stakes at the next Ituraitz Derby though, with both meeting at Grand Duke's Stadium in the final to challenge for their second crown. In the semi-finals Ituraitz FC pulled off a smash-and-grab away win against South Factory after losing at home, and Victory took Sporting all the way to penalty kicks with Sotil Burruchaga failing when it mattered most.

Sporting beat Blue Mountain Range in yet another good show of football, and are one step closer to winning their first league. The fight for Globe Cup qualification is also fierce, with six teams still capable of occupying them. Of these, perhaps the most remarkable is Urbizania Wanderers, who have recovered impressively from their poor start to the season.

With an eight point advantage over the second-placed Wanderers, Sporting can claim their first league title in advance if they win their next match, at home against the weak Astograth University. The plummet of South Factory is also amazing: in seven matchdays they've earned two points and find themselves in sixth place and, at the moment, out of any international competition.

The Sporting half of Iturributa is in celebration. With two fixtures to spare and still eight points above Wanderers, the Chevrons have become the last of the usual Big 4 to win the Astograthian First Division. Also with two fixtures to spare Garitzeta Racing Club have sealed their relegation, and Wanderers their Globe Cup participation. Royal Rumiatzi, Iturributa United, Blue Mountain Range and South Factory continue to battle for the remaining two spots.

South Factory did well to hammer the typically defensively proficient Blue Mountain Range in what was otherwise a fairly unspectacular matchday. Elsewhere, Iturributa United denied a brave Freedom FC the chance to escape the relegation zone with a classy performance.

The seventh edition of the Astograthian First Division finished in a predictable fashion following Sporting's early winning of it. Iturributa United, the league's top scorers, earned a second-place that may be disappointing if one considers their past campaigns, but is impressive when their terrible start is taken into account. Royal Rumiatzi and Urbizania Wanderers, also without stellar starts, are the other entries for the 30th Globe Cup. A team that will no doubt feel slighted is South Factory. The humble Rumiatzi outfit were living a dream until two-thirds of the way, when their star striker was injured and everything crumbled, missing out on even the consolation prize that would've been the Globe Cup. Another team that surprised was Blue Mountain Range from Echegoyan, and they'll surely take their sixth place with some manner of delight. Further down is the disappointing Ituraitz FC, who're no doubt feeling that the sale of Soter Sarlange was bad business. Astograth University, Ituraitz Victory and Iturributa Racing Club round out the top ten. The Army Club will gladly take eleventh place in their first season of top-flight football, as will Lermendia FC with twelfth place. Dangerously close to relegation was Athletic Club Rumiatzi, who scored and recieved an absurd amount of goals. Freedom FC, Royal Association and Garitzeta Racing Club, all of them poor throughout the whole season, will be spending next year in the second tier.

Following another season of fierce competition for promotion, Echegoyan FC make their triumphal return to First Division alongside newcomers Royal Arexa and the yo-yo Ibarbe Polo Club. So close, yet so far was what the fans of Athletic Club Olarria felt as they missed promotion, but at least they'll recieve a financial boost from competing in the Series B Champions' Cup.

The most highly anticipated Ituraitz Derby of all was held at Grand Duke's Stadium, but it seems only team showed up! Displaying a level of football that was never evident in the league, FC wiped the floor with their eternal rivals. A brace by Taggliafico and further goals by Basurto and Bordato earned Gorriaka their second Cup and threw enough fuel on the fire for many years to come.

What we learned:

Another title for Montréal then, who can't seem to stay away from it for too long. They had no trouble replacing the goals of Zlatko Zedafski by bringing in James Hunt and Néider Riascos. The old plodding, defensive teams of the past are gone, as are the sarcastic chants of "Allez Citoyens, Allez!", as the new look Tricolore play at a lightning pace and still manage to be defensively highly competent. Jesper Jensen may have reclaimed the title as Cotdelapoms' best player that he and Per-Olivier Johansson-Bakvis have been trading back and forth for almost 10 years now- and neither looks particularly close to slowing down. He played a very limited role, but big things are also expected from Jean Bédard.

Defence wasn't completely out of style, though, as Worcester Hearts competed for much of the year until a loss to Dominion sent them on a bit of a tailspin. Dominion's Citiz defender Germtillopagg Oyt broke the leg of Worcester's Roberto Coroni, who for better or worse was tasked with scoring all their goals. Worcester's defence was stout as ever though, and Rodrigue M'Benga continued his midfield badassery all throughout the year. Fears of a lack of width this season were assuaged with the dynamic play of Jonathan Barrie, and super-sub Arthur Brocard occasionally was able to change the offensive flow of the game with his pinpoint passing.

Defending champions Tout-Puissant Outremont were hopelessly adrift much of the season, although they still finished in third place. Johansson-Bakvis, Gaëtan LaChance, Johan Hesse and Aquillius Razava were all white hot this season, but other crucial pieces like Eualdo Nkong and the seemingly ageless Victor Flavius Kulli were not quite up to snuff. Valladar forward Jean Galletti was a good addition to the squad, but the goals being leaked at the back were a real problem, and it may have been a communication problem between manager, keeper and defenders.

Étoile Rouge were a delightful surprise, bringing their brand of showbiz football to the international places of the table after the improbably signing of World Cup winner Saif Al-Mukbari and sneakily talented Waaldish midfielder Ruud Endemann. Their 1-1 draw with Worcester was an epic case of irresistible force against immovable object that led to one of the most entertaining matches of the year. Helio Teixeira has been a wonderful addition to the club, although his retirement appears to be imminent.

There's been lots of big talk at Sparta recently with disappointing results, not unlike the Cosmopolitan squads across the city from 5 or so years back. They started to back it up this season with some highly astute signings, such as Valladar defender Jairo Velasco, Sorthern midfielder Zeruko Zarranz and big Mytanar goal wizard Imre Ulsson. Ultimately the key to this club is still Ismaël Yarrez, who is becoming one of the best players in the country and locking him down for a few more years should be the #1 priority of Sparta.

Nobody knows what exactly happened at Cosmopolitan, but there will be hell to pay. David Menéz is out as manager, and in is Magnus Dufresne, who is not exactly known for excellence in his time with Outremont. Expect sweeping changes, as the board is not famously patient, although perhaps giving the current mishmash of players an opportunity to gel may be a good idea. The talent is definitely there, although perhaps not in the midfield. Any team that can assemble a backfield from Adrian Njulae, Loïk Mailhot (rumoured to be headed to Cafundéu), Salvatore Eagle III, Rikpa, Pol de Huyer, Patrice Proulx and Joan Maklein can't be all bad, but there aren't enough tackles and interceptions for all of them, and the midfield mostly consisted of the pouty Christian, the old David Moore and the rosy cheeked Yoann X'Arc'Tx.

Elsewhere, Dominion continue to perform acceptably on a negative budget, smartly scouting some of Rushmore's smaller footballing nations. Hochelaga have shown they are not to be trifled with, although Shingo Morimoto seems to have decided he'd rather revive his career playing indoor football than stay there another season. Cap Nordique were hit with a nasty case of the injury bug and should be back next season.
