Campionato di Juvencus

After another few seasons spent in isolation and internalized play, the Campionato di Juvencus is back and the Juven Football Association decided it would send squads out for overseas play in different competitions so as to increase experience of the players against foreign teams, especially future entries to the national team of Juvencus, especially after a dip in form in recent memory. However, the Campionato has once again showed sides that haven't failed to impress us at all. With AC Pomena's unstoppable offense seeing no challengers yet again, one could argue there's nobody to really put stop to the reign of terror they've caused, however, they've won the league by one of the smallest margins so far, with only 5-point league from 2nd place AC Serone and 6-point lead from S.S.C Tipoli. With the rising forces of the afforementioned, the next Campionato could see their first new victor in seasons! Odiol Vinceti's incredible defence and effective offense managed to clinch their first IFCF qualification since the club's renaming in 2018, a minimal 35 goals scored to 31 conceded was enough to see the side go through. A grand upset was U.S Scudelli's collapse to the 19th place of the league, especially coming after seasons of sitting comfortably in the top of the table. All in all, a very defensive league for the most part, yet more teams have recently picked up a more aggressive philosophy of the game and as such will be pursuing higher heights in the foreseeable future.

Copa di Juvencus

The Copa di Juvencus is certainly the most unpredictable competition of the professional football system of the nation. The rules of the competition are simple, the top 12 sides of the previous season of the Campionato get an automatic berth to the round of 16, which leaves the 8 lowest-ranked sides to duke it out in a knockout elimination play-offs to decide which 4 teams enter the round of 16. With a lot of upsets in the competition, U.S Scudelli's disastrous league campaign was marked off by a glorious and very seemingly comfortable cup win.

AC Herona 0–1 Internazionale Serone

Super League Season Preview

The Courier & Gazette

Season Kicks off

All three division in Hwiccemark kick off this weekend, with the new look Super League and National 1 and 2 now in action. The Super League enters this season with 5 clubs having credible aspirations to challenge for the title, which could make for a lot of excitement. On the flipside, there are around 4 teams of relegation quality, and only 3 slots for them to get relegated into, and the majority of these teams will likely be playing backs to the wall stuff for the whole season. Excitement remains around some midtable clubs, RC Brehat are expected to continue with the stylish, passing football that won them the second tier last time out, meanwhile the impractical style of the Longshanks might find more exciting expression given that there's little chance of them getting relegated. All eyes on day one will fall on Longborth Cross, who are looking to make it three titles back to back, and are also looking to defend a Federal Cup.

Down in the new National 1, there is wide consensus that Husavik are the team to beat. Husavik is an isolated club, miles from any other club, they're the most successful side from the majority Scandinavian part of Hwiccemark. Relegation last time out ended a 14 year run in the top flight, and most don't expect their stay in the second tier to last beyond this year. However, there remain two other promotion slots (1 automatic, 1 via the play-offs) to fill, and the chasing pack are much harder to tell apart. Christenborg Norse, Bryndu Rovers and Holsteinborg all have the most pedigree, having had prolonged spells in the top flight before, but they all have struggled to rebuild their squads. There's also a handful of upwardly mobile clubs to keep an eye on, Olympique Brehat had a decent season last time out and will seek to build, and AS Noirmoutier will be interested to see if they can replicate the form that helped them storm the third tier last season. Down the bottom and Tafwys University and Chaldock Wanderers will likely be joined by AN Other.

In National 2 there are some surprisingly large names. Mopelbury Rovers and Dyrumarka Norse have both had previous stints in the top division, and will be hoping to mix it with more substantial clubs next year. Sporting Fowley and Racing Neskavik will likely make up the rest of the running for promotion. The rest of clubs in the division sit somewhere inbetween being semi-professional and fully professional, and most will simply aspire to good results, and with no relegation will be largely unconcerned besides this.

Longborth Cross 4–0 Sparta Longborth
Brysborg Metro 3–1 Fishguard FC
Friskney Rovers 2–0 Cwlen Cymru
Ruisling Juniors 2–0 Wedgebury Occident
Bosham Athletic 0–1 Torksey East End
Tilbury Scuttlers 3–2 Torksey West End
Carewton Stannary 2–2 Racing Clube Brehat
Carewton Longshanks 0–1 Svaelaborg

Week 1's big fixture was the resuming of hostilities in the Longborth derby, with Sparta returning to the top division and hoping to get at their successful and illustrious neighbours. Fat chance of that. Midfield screen Vanessa Wilkenson found herself dragged around and out of shape all afternoon, with their midfield always looking a step behind. The counter-attacking Longborth Cross found themselves camped in the opposition half, prizing them open at will, their twin number 10s Nyberg and Reece supplying endless incision, and Fairweather bagging a poachers brace with her speed in the box.

Elsewhere and it was largely a case of bigger teams easing past minnows for some easy points on the board, the exception being Bosham's poor start to the season. Their new look front four looked disjointed, and East End managed to spring them on the counter, and their gameplan of having no midfield and getting physical in the transition seems to adequately unsettle their fancied opponents. The most entertaining fixture of the round came between Scuttlers and Torksey West End, both sides that are incomplete with exciting elements, they went blow for blow, with a hattrick for Knutsson, Scuttlers inverted winger, swinging the result.

Sparta Longborth 1–0 Svaelaborg
Racing Clube Brehat 1–2 Carewton Longshanks
Torksey West End 1–2 Carewton Stannary
Torksey East End 0–0 Tilbury Scuttlers
Wedgebury Occident 0–1 Bosham Athletic
Cwlen Cymru 0–0 Ruisling Juniors
Fishguard FC 0–1 Friskney Rovers
Longborth Cross 1–3 Brysborg Metro

With so many teams potentially in contention it may be premature to call this an important result for the title race, but Metro vs. Longborth Cross had all the hallmarks of such a game. Pewitton Park was packed to the rafters, and fans on both sides might have gone home happy with the score level with 15 minutes left. Instead, a scrappy goal from a corner, and a wonderful dribble on the counter from Carli Ort settled the tie for Metro. Metro fans will be delighted, going top on matchday two as they seek their first Super League title.

There was a dearth of goals in other fixtures, Cwlen Cymru holding out Ruisling Juniors in front of a partisan home crowd was particularly dire for spectacle. RC Brehat playing the Longshanks produced some spells of beautiful football, but both sides lacked cutting edge, with more than one clear cut chance going to waste. Longshanks eventually came out the better, an unforced error from Regena McLeod supplying Rawlinson with a winner away from home.

Brysborg Metro 6–3 Sparta Longborth
Friskney Rovers 1–2 Longborth Cross
Ruisling Juniors 1–0 Fishguard FC
Bosham Athletic 0–0 Cwlen Cymru
Tilbury Scuttlers 1–0 Wedgebury Occident
Carewton Stannary 2–0 Torksey East End
Carewton Longshanks 2–1 Torksey West End
Svaelaborg 2–0 Racing Clube Brehat

Week 3, and again the majority of games remain turgid. Occident and Fishguards endless rearguard action and lack of intent continue to not pay off, as both remain stuck without a point and with one goal scored between them. One has to feel bad for their fans, both sides look promoted beyond their level, with desperate defence seemingly their only option and game plan. Cwlen Cymru's back to the wall act has had a tad more success, they stole their second point of the season from the misfiring dark horses Bosham, meaning they stay out of relegation places despite not scoring a single goal. Svaelaborg remain the most successful exponents of stacking the defence, their 7-2-1 formation supplying them a well earned 2-0 win over Torksey East End, as Barwegen's quick thinking going forward netted a brace.

As an antidote to all this are the madcap Sparta Longborth side, who took a 6-3 pasting from Brysborg Metro in another clash with a big side. They looked less cut adrift than on matchday one, but their high press and frantic tempo were unpicked by a more mature, careful side. Still, Sparta will consider that they have more green shoots than the other down the table clubs, especially with a fantastic goal coming from 18 year old midfielder Nyström.

Sparta Longborth 1–1 Racing Clube Brehat
Torksey West End 0–0 Svaelaborg
Torksey East End 3–3 Carewton Longshanks
Wedgebury Occident 0–2 Carewton Stannary
Cwlen Cymru 0–0 Tilbury Scuttlers
Fishguard FC 1–1 Bosham Athletic
Longborth Cross 1–4 Ruisling Juniors
Brysborg Metro 3–3 Friskney Rovers

Bosham Athletic continue to misfire. Despite having one of the most expensively assembled front lines in the league, that vital element of click still seems to be lacking, having scored only two goals so far. A lack of chemistry seems to be undermining them, with Spindler and Goines labouring down the wings, and Munroe and Stier looking like total strangers in the middle. A penalty box scrap saw Stier bag her only goal so far this season, but it was canceled at the other end by Fishguard's Chasity Paull, who until last season was on an amateur contract.

Elsewhere and the title race continues to refuse to take shape, Friskney Rovers went blow for blow at Stauwer Bridge for a big point, meanwhile the dazzling genius of Constantijn Visser, with 1 goal and 2 assists, saw off Longborth Cross in a striking manner. Visser shimmied and pranced through the final third, planting the usually composed Longborth back three on their arses, placing passes with crisp accuracy in the tightest of spaces.

Friskney Rovers 3–2 Sparta Longborth
Ruisling Juniors 3–2 Brysborg Metro
Bosham Athletic 3–0 Longborth Cross
Tilbury Scuttlers 1–0 Fishguard FC
Carewton Stannary 1–0 Cwlen Cymru
Carewton Longshanks 3–3 Wedgebury Occident
Svaelaborg 1–1 Torksey East End
Racing Clube Brehat 1–0 Torksey West End

Up top and we had two big fixtures this week - Metro headed over to the Audentior Arena to face off against Juniors, meanwhile Bosham played host to the champions. Both kicked off at three on a Saturday, and by the end of play Bosham were perhaps the side most reassured, producing their first truly fluent display this season. Juniors also came out in credit, edging the fixture against Metro, Ola Jansing providing a trio of deft assists to power them to the top of the table. Bosham's improved display came as Yardley dropped from their creative midfield berth to give 19 year old Darnell Kitzmiller a start. Raw though he was, Kitzmiller's slightly speculative forward passes finally allowed the front four to strut their stuff, pushing three past the champions for no reply.

Down the bottom end and RC Brehat finally picked up their first win back in the top flight, it was a surprising one-nil win over West End, two sides known to have leaky back lines. Debbie Parker set her side up to sit slightly deeper, with her full-back slotting back to form a back five at times, this new approach seems well designed to pick up results without overwhelming opponents as they did last season.

Sparta Longborth 1–2 Torksey West End
Torksey East End 0–3 Racing Clube Brehat
Wedgebury Occident 3–1 Svaelaborg
Cwlen Cymru 1–2 Carewton Longshanks
Fishguard FC 4–1 Carewton Stannary
Longborth Cross 0–0 Tilbury Scuttlers
Brysborg Metro 1–0 Bosham Athletic
Friskney Rovers 1–1 Ruisling Juniors

This weekend saw some big wins at the bottom, with Occident taking a crucial three points off Svaelaborg, whilst Fishguard scored a victory for the ages as they left Stannary shellshocked at 4-1 down. Fishguard's result was truly shocking, not just because of the respective pedigrees of the clubs (Fishguard are closer to a third tier club in budget, whilst Stannary are fourth in terms of all-time silverware), but also form. Fishguard came in without a win, and Stannary undefeated. Regardless, the legendary backline of Stannary found itself broken through 4 times by Lorraine Newby (with a hattrick) and Paull chipping in the fourth.

Meanwhile, the two new money clubs faced off in Brysborg, with Metro running out one-nil winners after a tensely fought 90 minutes, a headed goal from centre-half Ecclestone proving the difference between the two. The result leaves Bosham still struggling to build any momentum going into the season, whilst Metro keep pace up at the top of the table.

Ruisling Juniors 3–1 Sparta Longborth
Bosham Athletic 1–3 Friskney Rovers
Tilbury Scuttlers 2–4 Brysborg Metro
Carewton Stannary 1–0 Longborth Cross
Carewton Longshanks 2–0 Fishguard FC
Svaelaborg 0–1 Cwlen Cymru
Racing Clube Brehat 4–0 Wedgebury Occident
Torksey West End 4–2 Torksey East End

Despite the big fixtures between Friskney and Bosham, Brysborg and Tilbury and Stannary and Longborth Cross, attention fell first to the violently contested derby in Torksey. The majority of the small town piled into Tay Bridge to see an ill-mannered afair, East End took a two-nil lead, with their physicality disrupting West End's build up. This eventually proved their undoing, with midfielders Saia and Glas getting sent off for some horrendous tackling, this left massive gaps for West End to exploit, with a 3 goal burst in ten minutes putting them into a lead they never relinquished. Streetman and Jacobs excellent passing in made Rawlinson's hattrick incredibly easy to take.

In the games up the top of the table, Bosham continued to look lethargic and disconnected in defeat to an efficient Friskney side. Meanwhile, Scuttlers demonstrated just how far they are from their glory years, as Brysborg Metro saw themselves past them without having to run through the gears. RC Brehat also deserve a mention, having score 8 goals without reply in their last three matches, they look fluent and fluid moving through their opponents.

Sparta Longborth 3–1 Torksey East End
Wedgebury Occident 1–2 Torksey West End
Cwlen Cymru 0–2 Racing Clube Brehat
Fishguard FC 0–0 Svaelaborg
Longborth Cross 4–2 Carewton Longshanks
Brysborg Metro 2–2 Carewton Stannary
Friskney Rovers 0–0 Tilbury Scuttlers
Ruisling Juniors 2–0 Bosham Athletic

Stannary Metro was the big clash going into the weekend, this one promised to be a tactical battle as well, with the ebullient Payton Keyes of Metro coming in contrast to the brooding Jurre Parker, who sets out to defend through holding possession. Leads were exchanged, but an equalizer from the edge of the box from Belva Essex gave Stannary a crucial away point that keeps them in the mix. Elsewhere, and Longborth Cross shook off their poor form to produce a display more fitting of their status as champions, exploiting the holes left by the Carewton Longshanks, who's commitment to setting up a team practically is virtually none.

Elsewhere and Juniors stayed top of the division. Their slick passing game made Bosham's pretenses of aiming for a first title look increasingly silly. As multiple title winners such as Jansing, and full-backs Van Dijk and Matthews weaved familiar patterns, one couldn't help but admire the sheer dominance of Juniors, a side that always seem to have that bit extra over their opponents. The two-nil win sent a clear message, they want their trophy back.

Bosham Athletic 0–0 Sparta Longborth
Tilbury Scuttlers 1–5 Ruisling Juniors
Carewton Stannary 0–1 Friskney Rovers
Carewton Longshanks 4–2 Brysborg Metro
Svaelaborg 0–1 Longborth Cross
Racing Clube Brehat 4–1 Fishguard FC
Torksey West End 2–0 Cwlen Cymru
Torksey East End 2–0 Wedgebury Occident

This fixture has a lot of history associated with it, but also now seems to sit with a slight air of sadness. Tilbury Scuttlers used to be the most decorated side in the land, five consecutive titles came between 1967 and 1971, with teams consisting of talent plucked from the dockland area in Brysborg being fused with excellent management to dominate the league. Nobody would have thought cross town Juniors could possibly ed up overhauling their medal count, let alone that they would within a decade. Dominance has long since passed across town to this better heeled and wealthier club. The 5-1 hammering they dished out simply confirmed what we all knew, Scuttlers are miles away from their fiercest rivals and may never again scale back up to these heights.

Elsehwere and RC Brehat continue to be the story of the division, Fishguard provided little in the way of opposition as they again set upon their opponents, making the ball theirs and bending space on the pitch to their will. Brehat's result sees them up to third place, with Parker seemingly having worked out the midfield rebuild necessitated by selling Kitzmiller and Orwig to supposedly stronger opponents. One may now wonder whether Kitzmiller, languishing at a struggling Bosham Athletic, might be regretting the move across.

Sparta Longborth 0–1 Wedgebury Occident
Cwlen Cymru 1–0 Torksey East End
Fishguard FC 2–3 Torksey West End
Longborth Cross 4–0 Racing Clube Brehat
Brysborg Metro 1–0 Svaelaborg
Friskney Rovers 2–3 Carewton Longshanks
Ruisling Juniors 1–0 Carewton Stannary
Bosham Athletic 1–0 Tilbury Scuttlers

Ruisling Juniors continue to threaten to run away with it, a one-nil win over title rivals Stannary leaves them well positioned a third of the way into the season. Whereas in the last three years they've been undone by the sturdiness of Stannary and Longborth Cross in seeking the title, Juniors have reestablished the steeliness to go with their often sparkling attacking football.

Elsewhere, and those threatened by relegation continue to trade blows in the fight for survival. A well taken one-nil win at Arundel Road gave Occident some hope moving forward. Cwlen Cymru were also able to celebrate a gritty one-nil home win over East End, lifting them narrowly out of the back three, and taken with only their third goal of the season, this one coming from striker Yan Vanderhoff, who produced a beautiful curling effort. Finally, RC Brehat saw their excellent run come crashing to an end, and the rigidly counter attacking Longborth Cross hit them for four, each coming from a rapid counter attack. We will see whether other teams are able to replicate this, or whether Brehat simply couldn't replicate their form against top opposition.

After ten games Ruisling Juniors have made the best of the early running, not only are they undefeated, but they have looked comfortable in most matches, picking off opponents at ease, and not having to expend masses of energy in victory. Behind them, it is a tight throng, with only 4 points separating second from mid-table, it might take longer for it to be clear who could challenge Juniors down the stretch, and who will be angling for the valuable Challenge Cup places. RC Brehat will perhaps be happiest of these clubs, poking around the outside of the Challenge Cup spots, they've played scintillating stuff so far, and might have what it takes to spring a surprise.

Down the bottom and the table remains incredibly tight too, again only four point separate 16th from 11th. Fishguard and Occident have been poor so far, yet don't yet seem cut adrift. Svaelaborg would likely back themselves to keep ahead of the chasing pack, but any of Cymru, East, Sparta, Occident or Fishguard could somehow survive this year, despite a total lack of pedigree or top flight experience.

Husavik are, unsurprisingly, top of the table. Those behind are keeping it close however, and getting back to the top flight is going to take Husavik more effort than they might have expected coming into the season. Heilgurbar Athletic have been the surprise package so far, defending in numbers and proving hard to break down has bought good results their way. SC Paimpol, similarly, have done well out of domestic organisation, and currently look like they could make their top flight debut next year. Down the table and Olympique Brehat will regret their difficulties taking their chances so far, they have the third best attacking record in the league, but languish outside the playoff spots.

Down the bottom and Tafwys University are less cut adrift than they might have thought, only a couple of results from hauling themselves up the table. AS Noirmoutier have struggled to adapt to their new division, and their displays may fairly be described as naive so far, the attacks of second tier sides proving far less forgiving than those in the old fourth tier were.

16 Railway Arms FC 10 0 1 9 9 28 −19 1

Down in the bottom tier and Gable Head FC have surprisingly pushed themselves into the automatic promotion race, with Dyrumarka Norse sat alongside them. Norse and Mopelbury Rovers have both struggled to power ahead as they had expected at the start of the season, the divisions other clubs proving less obliging than they have historically. Sporting Fowley and Racing Neskavik are both struggling, having expected to make up the running for promotion, they find themselves adrift of even the playoff spots. Both have looked fluent in spells, but players seem to be struggling to motivate themselves to see off the likes of pub team the Railway Arms, and village side Dogelu FC. They'll need to turn it around if they want to face fancier opponents next season.

YUEZHOU PREMIER LEAGUE

Due to the whole "we've been in a civil war for the past year between five warring factions that threatens to completely destroy the concept of Yuezhou as a nation" thing, the Yuezhou FA have decided to cancel the upcoming season of the Yuezhou Premier League and re-send last season's IFCF qualifiers to the same IFCF competitions.

Yuezhou (YZH) Qualifiers
IFCF Champions League: Yincheng Capitals
IFCF Challenger's Cup: Beian Rovers, SC Jiangdong, Dynamo Dalian
CdC: Yincheng Capitals

Yuezhou (YZH) Final Site Bids
IFCF Champion's League: Yincheng National Stadium, Yincheng (cap. 60,000)
The jewel of Yincheng and one of a handful of major landmarks NOT destroyed in the civil war, what was then known as Yincheng National Workers' Stadium was built just six years ago by the Ren Qiang government to commemorate the success of the nation's socialist regime, which has since then been overthrown several times in rapid succession. A modern stadium whose architecture was briefly the envy of central Rushmore until the adjacent neighborhoods were leveled by bombs during the coup, Yincheng is home to what has, up until very recently when the civil war started, been the best club in the nation - Yincheng Capitals. Nestled in the center of what was once the financial district, the stadium is at the center of a thriving network of public and air transportation that will make it incredibly easy to get to once travel restrictions are lifted and maintenance and repair projects are resumed. IFCF dignitaries are invited to visit our gem of a stadium for further inspection as soon as it is safe to do so!

We are an attempt at an over the top Central Asian style dictatorship with our influences being mainly Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Most policies and stats are cannon, but issues are picked with the craziest or most dictator friendly option in mind. All policies are considered cannon aside from Geronticide.

2031-32 Fleftic Premier League, Part One

Postby Abanhfleft » Fri Dec 25, 2020 8:20 am

Hopefully if I've timed this right I'm going to finish this right around the cutoff.

The recently concluded season of the Fleftic Premier League was definitely one like no other. This is the first time in the history of the FPL, and the first time in almost 100 years, that the team that won the top flight title in Abanhfleft were relegated in the season immediately after. And yet that is exactly what All-Inclusive Haranguer did for the 2030-31 FPL season. It could be argued that when Haranguer won the title in 2031, they did it simply because they were more consistent than the rest of the league, and that would have been true, if only as a very simplistic version of events. And of course there was hope and optimism from the supporters at the National Book Store Stadium that their club was finally embarking on a new chapter in its history. And it is indeed doing that, just not in the direction everyone expected. But that is old news now. Sporting Ceneisis are the defending champions of Abanhfleft, ending a 14-year wait in which the Blues came close a number of times but were sadly denied the chance. Starting from this day though, it is Vaughn Palladino's men who have the targets on their backs, and the team everyone else in the FPL will want to beat big time. And the first team to have a crack at the defending champions are the current holders of the SFA Cup, Admiral Porcusces, who also happen to be Ceneisis' provincial rivals. Kicking off the season with a derby; that's the Fleftic way.

Image

For all the hype surrounding the buildup to the 2031 SFA Community Shield (mostly because of the derby implications), this was one such instance where all expectations were met, and probably even exceeded. The first ten minutes of the game were a bit cagey, that was for sure, but after that it finally turned into a proper derby game. Looking at the way the players from both sides were throwing themselves into long balls, crosses, and tackles, you would be forgiven for thinking that they were actually fighting for the Globe Cup Challengers' Cup. As the saying goes, a trophy is a trophy, at least until your rival wins it. Then it's nothing but a Mickey Mouse cup. Or in this case, a shield.

Nevertheless, despite all the elbows and handbags flying, nobody got themselves sent off. But nobody also scored in the ninety minutes, necessating a penalty shootout to determine which side of Ceneisis Province would get first dibs on claiming the first available silverware of the season. Ceneisis went first, and the first six spot kicks went off without a hitch, but then Bryce Hinder saw his kick sail well wide, giving fans of the Foxes hope of lifting a second consecutive trophy after their shock relegation a few seasons ago. The rest of the penalties went off without a hitch, and after Ceneisis defender Cleiton found the back of the net, the Blues' hopes of pushing the whole thing to sudden death now rested on the shoulders of Guildenstern Cardew, who might still be wearing his No. 23 shirt but is most definitely Ceneisis' No. 1 now. Unfortunately, the pressure proved to be a little too much and Cardew stood rooted on the line while Vipin Nagarkar slammed home the ball top right corner. It's a second trophy for Admiral Porcusces, and one that they and their fans deserved after fighting back from Unang Liga to reclaim their place in the top flight.

Congratulations to Admiral Porcusces, your 2031 SFA Community Shield winners!

Matchday One Scores
Rodrigues FC 0–0 Electric Yugal
Ludogorets Markovsky 4–0 Fleftic Air Force
Admiral Porcusces 2–2 Locomotive Imgortur
Malabon SC 0–1 Xemlice Rovers
Pawwazim 0–1 Riuwiee United
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 1–0 Rosenpfelblatz North End
Thereisnogodistan 2–3 Sarvusdalamoive
Arsenal de Releinthi 5–5 Sporting Ceneisis
Athletic Dorfdifving 1–0 Wanda Island Wanderers
Rosenpfelblatz City 2–2 Paulsen FC

From one rivalry to another. Sporting Ceneisis begin their title defense in earnest with a trip to Capital Islands to square off against an Arsenal de Releinthi side looking to redeem themselves from the disappointment of the 2030-31 season, the season where the Gunners finished 14th, the lowest they've ever been since the start of the Fleftic Premier League. The Releinthi side's decision to stick with Oleg Mostovoi through these tough times was one ridiculed not just by Arsenal fans but also people from all over the country, but given the intensity of the game that they played against the defending champions, it's fair to say that there are some who are starting to reconsider their opinions on the subject. Marcus Tabarez is working ever closer to finally justifying that 320 million new penenk price tag on him with his hat trick (which includes the tying goal that ensured the Gunners would snatch a point from this encounter) but the spotlight shines deservedly upon Josh Saxon. The 200 million nup man showed just exactly why he was worth that much from Sarvusdalamoive with his four-goal haul, making Saxon the first player in this history of the FPL to score four in the opening matchday of the season.

Apart from that though, this matchday is one that is a little bit short on surprises, although Athletic Dorfdifving's 1-0 victory over Wanda Island Wanderers is surely the pick of a very short bunch. Paulsen's 2-2 draw with Rosenpfelblatz City at the Aeroflot Stadium also deserves an honorable mention.

Matchday Two Scores
Electric Yugal 0–0 Paulsen FC
Wanda Island Wanderers 1–2 Rosenpfelblatz City
Sporting Ceneisis 3–0 Athletic Dorfdifving
Sarvusdalamoive 1–1 Arsenal de Releinthi
Rosenpfelblatz North End 1–1 Thereisnogodistan
Riuwiee United 1–0 Marinos Thimpodopoulos
Xemlice Rovers 3–0 Pawwazim
Locomotive Imgortur 0–2 Malabon SC
Fleftic Air Force 0–1 Admiral Porcusces
Rodrigues FC 3–2 Ludogorets Markovsky

Sporting Ceneisis return to winning ways with a commanding 3-0 victory over Athletic Dorfdifving, who must be wishing that they could play Wanda Island every week of the season. There's no going home with the match ball for Josh Saxon today; though he will surely be pleased to have assisted two of his team's goals against the Canaries. Admiral Porcusces also regain their footing a little bit with a late 1-0 away victory over Fleftic Air Force, Chia Jao netting the winner in the 80th minute. Things however look like they are going from bad to worse for Wanda Island Wanderers, with the 2028 FPL champions falling to Rosenpfelblatz City in front of a sold-out IKEA Arena. Still, it's only two games into the season. Surely that is too early to make predictions or even jokes and memes about a Wanda Island relegation scrap?

Matchday Three Scores
Ludogorets Markovsky 2–2 Electric Yugal
Admiral Porcusces 0–0 Rodrigues FC
Malabon SC 2–0 Fleftic Air Force
Pawwazim 2–0 Locomotive Imgortur
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 1–3 Xemlice Rovers
Thereisnogodistan 1–5 Riuwiee United
Arsenal de Releinthi 1–0 Rosenpfelblatz North End
Athletic Dorfdifving 2–2 Sarvusdalamoive
Rosenpfelblatz City 2–2 Sporting Ceneisis
Paulsen FC 1–1 Wanda Island Wanderers

It seems as if Riuwiee United mean business this season. So far this season the Blue Tribesmen have managed to fly under the radar courtesy of a pair of 1-0 wins over FPL new boys Pawwazim and Marinos Thimpodopoulos, but when the capital club arrived at Richard Dawkins Park to play Thereisnogodistan, United removed the hood from over their head and revealed themselves as the biggest threat to Sporting Ceneisis defending their premiership this season with their commanding 5-1 victory over the Atheists. Rory Edwards may be gone to chase one last fat paycheck with General Santos FC in the Sultanate of Oontaz, but Hamish Muir proved that he didn't need no Edwards to supply him with assists to score goals, thank you very much. Oh, and apparently Xemlice Rovers are right in there as well. It's sadly very easy to forget about Xemlice being a title contender given how often they choked when they had the chance to win it all. Sure, the Gamekeepers are up there at the top of the table this early, but the question appears to be how long will it take before they fall out of contention for the title conversation once again?

Matchday Four Scores
Electric Yugal 0–0 Wanda Island Wanderers
Sporting Ceneisis 0–1 Paulsen FC
Sarvusdalamoive 1–7 Rosenpfelblatz City
Rosenpfelblatz North End 1–1 Athletic Dorfdifving
Riuwiee United 1–0 Arsenal de Releinthi
Xemlice Rovers 5–0 Thereisnogodistan
Locomotive Imgortur 1–1 Marinos Thimpodopoulos
Fleftic Air Force 1–0 Pawwazim
Rodrigues FC 0–2 Malabon SC
Ludogorets Markovsky 2–4 Admiral Porcusces

If Matchday Three was the moment Riuwiee United and Xemlice Rovers revealed themselves as potential title contenders, Matchday Four is the day that these two teams officially stamped their desires onto the faces of their opponents. It's a toss-up which side made their claim better: Xemlice with their commanding 5-0 victory over Thereisnogodistan (poor Atheists; they appear to be the league's punching bag as of this moment) or United's close but hard-fought 1-0 triumph over their rivals Arsenal de Releinthi in the Capital Islands Derby? The Gamekeepers currently hold the edge with a bigger goal difference than the Blue Tribesmen, but both teams still remain level on points and a draw or loss for one team could swing the momentum all the way in favor of the other. Meanwhile, Sporting Ceneisis' defense of the title is not playing out as well as they would have wanted, and the Blues succumbed to their first defeat of the season against Paulsen FC, leaving Vaughn Palladino's men stuck just outside of the Challengers' Cup places for the meantime. Things look equally bleak for the Wanda Island Wanderers, who are in joint 17th place with Rosenpfelblatz North End. Of course, it's still just four days into the season so no big brouhaha over the Wanderers' league position at the moment, but if things don't change anytime soon, Artemio Peres might once again find himself in danger of losing a job.

Fleftic Premier League Table After Matchday Four
FPL Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts

4 Rosenpfelblatz City 4 2 2 0 13 6 +7 8 Challengers' Cup qualification

6 Paulsen FC 4 1 3 0 4 3 +1 6
7 Sporting Ceneisis 4 1 2 1 10 8 +2 5
8 Arsenal de Releinthi 4 1 2 1 7 7 0 5
9 Rodrigues FC 4 1 2 1 3 4 −1 5
10 Athletic Dorfdifving 4 1 2 1 4 6 −2 5
11 Sarvusdalamoive 4 1 2 1 7 12 −5 5
12 Ludogorets Markovsky 4 1 1 2 10 9 +1 4
13 Electric Yugal 4 0 4 0 2 2 0 4

Wanda Island Wanderers 4 0 2 2 2 4 −2 2 Relegation to Unang Liga
19 Locomotive Imgortur 4 0 2 2 3 7 −4 2 Relegation to Unang Liga
20 Thereisnogodistan 4 0 1 3 4 14 −10 1 Relegation to Unang Liga

Xemlice Rovers currently sit pretty on top of the FPL table, with Riuwiee United hot on their heels with only goal difference separating the two. Down at the foot of the table, Thereisnogodistan find themselves firmly entrenched thanks to two consecutive games in which they shipped five goals past themselves. If they intend on staying in the top flight then this is not the way. There are also a few teams in the same boat as TNG, the most notable of them being former FPL champions Wanda Island Wanderers and Locomotive Imgortur. What is it with the FPL and former champions going through at least one season being threatened by relegation? If this is their way of spicing things up then it doesn't seem like it's sitting well with the fans.

SAVIGLEGA 2 - 2020 SEASON RECAP

Despite a delayed start to the season and a new dimension to play in, some things just don't change, as AC Acqui Bollente won a second consecutive title. While multiple derby losses to Nazionale led to a bit of a slow start, Amara Vatrican, Pietro Giraudo, and company turned things around to finish first by just one point despite a late six-pointer loss to Stade-Ferre, while the emergence of young striker Paolo Rinaldi fueled a high-octane attack. Behind them, Stade-Ferre Trinité continued to improve on both sides of the pitch, and while a late surge provided by midseason reinforcement Michael Durand wasn't quite enough to get them the title, the national team striker proved vital in critical late victories against ACAB and Villeneuve.

A spot behind, AS Villeneuve finished just two points off of their 2018 mark. However, being beaten to second by Stade-Ferre will sting, and after manager Jean-Claude Boucher promised a championship after bringing Gabriel Lefebvre home, things will have to change soon if ASV want to return to their former glory. And while Nazionale Acqui Bollente, after a scorching-hot start saw them upset their rivals twice, may be somewhat disappointed to be a distant fourth, IFCF qualification just a cycle after being promoted is nothing to sneeze at. The triumphant return of Francesco Grimaldi, who showed why he's starting for the national team with a tremendous Golden Boot campaign, provided enough firepower to make up for their relative frailty at the back, something that Ricardo Grossi will need to work on if Nazionale is to improve further. Just two points behind, Pietrargenta will be cursing Grimaldi's goal in a late 1-0 loss to Nazionale that knocked them out of IFCF contention. However, despite losing star players such as Pascale Langóbardi to foreign teams, the emergence of ex-backup Nico D'Ambrosio and the continued heroics of fan favorite Marcos Beccaria were more than enough to anchor a league-leading defense and finish a solid fifth.

After the chaos of 2018, a solid sixth place - 15 and 12 points from fifth and seventh, respectively - will be a sigh of relief for Villeneuve NSC, but there's no denying that the capital city's second side have spent far too much money to be playing this poorly. While striker Devon Bradford still hasn't quite gotten used to SavigLega's style of play, star midfielder Sebastien Petit was arguably SavigLega's best midfielder this season, almost single-handedly keeping them midtable in a tumultuous season. Behind them, Porto Vecchio had another nondescript season, and while a switch to a more defensive style of play in the wake of Adrian Toscani's transfer to Audioslavia made sense, it made for boring television and displeased fans.

At the bottom of the table, FC Riziéres, just a year removed from IFCF qualification, will be sighing in relief after finishing above the relegation playoff spots by just one goal. Emeril Ducasse's critics claimed the longtime Riziéres boss just got lucky in 2018, and they were largely proven correct after the northerner was sacked after losing seven of his first eight matches. A mere goal beneath them, though, L'Escarene SC continued their legacy of ineptitude, with a formerly solid defense falling off of a cliff due to injuries to key players - although they were able to survive the playoff against a hungry San Ludovico side. And with just twenty points in thirty-six matches, EDC Fossano showed that without rising stars Thea Squarciafichi and Marco Giuliani, they just had nothing to work with - it'll be a while before we see them in Lega 1 again.

Savigliane (SVG) Final Site Bids

IFCF Challenger's Cup: Stadio del Piero, Acqui Bollente (45,500)
Located in the heart of Acqui Bollente, one of Savigliane's national capitals and the heart of Italophone Savigliane, Stadio del Piero is a magnificent stadium with a rich history. Home to AC Acqui Bollente, twice-defending champions of the SavigLega and home to one of the nation's most passionate fanbases, Stadio del Piero hosts all of the national team's home games, making it one of the most international-caliber stadia in the nation. While a recent renovation has expanded the stadium's capacity to 45,500 (making it more than large enough to host the CC), the stadium still retains the peacefulness and charm that it had when it was first built in 1952 to commemorate former club chairman Niccolo del Piero.

IFCF Liga B Champion's Trophy: Stade National, Villeneuve (41,000)
A modern stadium for a modern Savigliane, the sleek, glossy Stade National is the newest major stadium in the nation. Home to AS Villeneuve, a historic SavigLega powerhouse with a passionate fanbase, the stadium's modernist architecture makes it a perfect site for a new era of international domestic soccer. Villeneuve was a major regional transportation hub and remains home to the nation's largest airports and public transit systems, making it perfectly suited to handle an influx of foreign fans. The stadium seats 41,000, with plans to expand the capacity to 50,000 in a few years if things go smoothly, and has previously hosted an AOCAF Ro16 match, which Villeneuve officials handled incredibly competently.

2031-32 Fleftic Premier League, Part Two

Postby Abanhfleft » Sat Dec 26, 2020 7:32 am

Matchday Five Scores
Admiral Porcusces 1–0 Electric Yugal
Malabon SC 4–1 Ludogorets Markovsky
Pawwazim 1–0 Rodrigues FC
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 1–0 Fleftic Air Force
Thereisnogodistan 0–1 Locomotive Imgortur
Arsenal de Releinthi 3–1 Xemlice Rovers
Athletic Dorfdifving 0–1 Riuwiee United
Rosenpfelblatz City 1–0 Rosenpfelblatz North End
Paulsen FC 2–0 Sarvusdalamoive
Wanda Island Wanderers 3–1 Sporting Ceneisis

Oh! Is this the slip-up we were waiting for? Of course, in typical fashion it is Xemlice Rovers who have fallen victim to the slip-up, and against Arsenal de Releinthi as well. History has not been kind to Xemlice for all the times that they've come to Releinthi, with the Gunners having had the advantage over the Gamekeepers more often than not, and Matchday Five was no exception to this. Still stinging from their defeat in the Capital Islands derby, Oleg Mostovoi's men walked into the Monsanto Stadium looking for revenge and redemption, and they got it, with Xemlice being their unfortunate victims. Marcus Tabarez and Jake Pimentel combined together to deliver the damage to Xemlice, and Joachim Eisener's goal was a classic case of "too little too late" for the Gamekeepers.

Things are also going from bad to worse for Sporting Ceneisis' title defense. Apparently, Matchday Five is a good day to be an FPL team in the Capital Islands because Wanda Island Wanderers have managed to get their shit together long enough for Artemio Peres and his men to claim victory over the reigning FPL champions. A brace from Arthur MacAlistair basically negated Curan Paynter's early header, and a goal from another defender in Kong Jiemao sealed the deal for the Wanderers and forced the Blues to go back to Mereilles with their tails firmly between their legs. And only 4 points in 5 games for Ludogorets Markovsky? Oh, the Green Hell is not going to like that at all!

Matchday Six Scores
Electric Yugal 1–3 Sporting Ceneisis
Sarvusdalamoive 0–1 Wanda Island Wanderers
Rosenpfelblatz North End 0–1 Paulsen FC
Riuwiee United 1–0 Rosenpfelblatz City
Xemlice Rovers 2–0 Athletic Dorfdifving
Locomotive Imgortur 1–1 Arsenal de Releinthi
Fleftic Air Force 2–1 Thereisnogodistan
Rodrigues FC 1–2 Marinos Thimpodopoulos
Ludogorets Markovsky 1–0 Pawwazim
Admiral Porcusces 0–3 Malabon SC

Maybe it's too early to count out Sporting Ceneisis just yet. Sure, it's easy to discount the Blues' victory over Electric Yugal since the latter is a newly promoted team, but never underestimate the power of a single victory to arrest what could have been an unstoppable downward slide. Obviously, Vaughn Palladino will want to use this victory as a springboard to securing more wins and maybe, just maybe, force Ceneisis back into the title conversation, a topic that so far has been dominated by another team in blue, Riuwiee United. The Blue Tribesmen looked to secure their place at the top of the table with another commanding victory, this time over the Foxes of Admiral Porcusces. Hamish Muir may be 32 years old now but he's still very much the goal machine that United signed all those years ago. Nobody really required him to score loads of goals and yet Hamish is still doing it. That's club loyalty for you.

Matchday Seven Scores
Malabon SC 4–0 Electric Yugal
Pawwazim 0–1 Admiral Porcusces
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 0–1 Ludogorets Markovsky
Thereisnogodistan 1–1 Rodrigues FC
Arsenal de Releinthi 2–0 Fleftic Air Force
Athletic Dorfdifving 1–1 Locomotive Imgortur
Rosenpfelblatz City 0–1 Xemlice Rovers
Paulsen FC 0–1 Riuwiee United
Wanda Island Wanderers 2–1 Rosenpfelblatz North End
Sporting Ceneisis 1–1 Sarvusdalamoive

The Blue Tribesmen keep slowly plodding on. Their 1-0 result over Paulsen FC is proof that a team doesn't always need to be explosive and flashy and scoring goals left and right to be considered a title contender in Abanhfleft. Some fans might complain about the fact that Maksim Shinkarenko elected to defend the lead just fifteen minutes in, but look at where that's brought United now. Top of the FPL. Now the question is whether they will stay there until the end of the season. It's not impossible, that's for sure. It's just a question of whether Shinky and his men can hold their nerves for 31 more matchdays. Sporting Ceneisis really have to get their act together and quickly though. As of this moment they're firmly rooted in the midtable and look nothing at all like the side that won the FPL last season. If the Blues are truly intent on making inroads into the top five, drawing 1-1 against a battered and bruised Sarvusdalamoive ain't the way to do it, chief.

Matchday Eight Scores
Electric Yugal 2–2 Sarvusdalamoive
Rosenpfelblatz North End 1–0 Sporting Ceneisis
Riuwiee United 0–2 Wanda Island Wanderers
Xemlice Rovers 2–0 Paulsen FC
Locomotive Imgortur 2–1 Rosenpfelblatz City
Fleftic Air Force 1–2 Athletic Dorfdifving
Rodrigues FC 0–1 Arsenal de Releinthi
Ludogorets Markovsky 0–1 Thereisnogodistan
Admiral Porcusces 2–1 Marinos Thimpodopoulos
Malabon SC 2–2 Pawwazim

Riuwiee United couldn't hold it together and hang on to top spot for one more matchday. But Wanda Island Wanderers just wanted the win more, and they took it in perhaps one of the most hostile environments for any football team: the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium with a sold-out home crowd. Then again, Artemio Peres is an expert in ignoring the noise and teaching his players the same skill. It is after all the reason that got him and the Wanderers the victory and the FPL title in Releinthi after an action-packed and emotionally charged derby. Now, with United having opened the door to the top spot, Xemlice Rovers said "Thank you kindly" and took it right back thanks to a 2-0 win over Paulsen. Meanwhile, Sporting Ceneisis continue to stray just a little bit further from the light with another defeat, this time to relegation-threatened Rosenpfelblatz North End. It's a well-known fact that Christian Vacek Jr. enjoyed the two years that he spent at Plainfields, but he seemed to have forgotten that he plays for Ceneisis now because he only just went and put the ball into the back of his own goal. As headers go, Vacek's was an impressive bullet header; the only problem with it was that he scored it in his own end of the pitch. Vaughn Palladino should have a word with his players about that, because this is not the way that they are going to be able to conduct a successful title defense.

Matchday Nine Scores
Pawwazim 2–0 Electric Yugal
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 3–4 Malabon SC
Thereisnogodistan 1–2 Admiral Porcusces
Arsenal de Releinthi 1–1 Ludogorets Markovsky
Athletic Dorfdifving 0–0 Rodrigues FC
Rosenpfelblatz City 1–1 Fleftic Air Force
Paulsen FC 0–0 Locomotive Imgortur
Wanda Island Wanderers 0–0 Xemlice Rovers
Sporting Ceneisis 3–3 Riuwiee United
Sarvusdalamoive 2–3 Rosenpfelblatz North End

And then there was Malabon SC. While everyone else was focused on the likes of Riuwiee United and Xemlice Rovers squabbling over first place, Malabon have been doing things behind the scenes so that they would be well-positioned when the time comes that those two clubs slip up on their own. Case in point: Matchday Nine of the 2031-32 Fleftic Premier League season, where Malabon had to twice come back from behind against Marinos Thimpodopoulos to take all three points back to San Roque Park, and then the Ravens had to wait with bated breath as first Xemlice and then Riuwiee both drew their respective games and allowed Malabon to retain first place by virtue of their superior goal difference. It truly is remarkable how Malabon were able to fly under the radar and shift attention away from themselves while they slowly built up their surprise to the league, which is the snatching of first place from the Gamekeepers and Blue Tribesmen. Well, everyone knows Malabon's got skin in the game now, and a target has now been placed on the Ravens' backs as well. A three-horse race for the title this season? Yes please!

20 Thereisnogodistan 9 1 2 6 8 20 −12 5 Relegation to Unang Liga

There is a literal three-horse race for first place in the FPL on matchday nine, with Malabon SC, Xemlice Rovers, and Riuwiee United all on 22 points with only goal difference separating the three clubs. Admiral Porcusces could also be included into the title conversation, what with them being just two points away from the leaders, while rivals Arsenal de Releinthi and Wanda Island Wanderers are the two teams on the outside looking in. Given how tight the top is looking at the moment, any sort of poor form could potentially knock any one of these five contenders out of the picture altogether, and since this is the FPL where form sometimes counts for nothing in any given match, this fate could befall literally anyone. Down at the foot of the table, Thereisnogodistan and newly promoted Electric Yugal look like early candidates for relegation. Thereisnogodistan have been the punching bag of the top teams for the first matchdays of the season so them being at the bottom of the table is understandable, but take a look at Electric Yugal! The Bolts have literally not won a single game out of the nine that they've already played. For a side that's making a big deal out of surviving the depths of Liga Ikalawa to make it back to the cream of Fleftic football, they're not really taking advantage of their top flight status. Perhaps signing all of those aging stars wasn't the best strategy for staying up after all.

Professional Trophy Round 1

Ten games into the season and the annual farce of the Professional Trophy kicks off again. With all clubs in the top three divisions now professional to some extent, the name is no longer accurate, with teams from the third tier still excluded. There also remains a general lack of interest around the whole affair, even this year the winner will not enter the Challenge Cup, meanwhile those in the BFA Cup do. Besides a nice day out at Clarendon Road in Brysborg there is little other incentive to care. This has perhaps been reflected in the teams that have won it, Torksey West End hold the record having taken the trophy three times, with sides that, whilst sturdy, were hardly ever world beaters. With weakened sides fielded, and upsets likely, round one kicked off:

Brysborg Metropolitan (SL) 0 - 2 Wedgebury Occident (SL)
Cwlen Cymru (SL) 1 - 4 Ruisling Juniors (SL)
Bryndu Rovers (N1) 0 - 2 Svaelaborg (SL)
Torksey West End (SL) 1 - 0 Bosham Athletic (SL)
Carewton Longshanks (SL) 0 - 1 Heilgurbar Athletic (N1)
Carewton Stannary (SL) 5 - 1 Baersmead Town (N1)
Tilbury Scuttlers (SL) 1 - 2 Friskney Rovers (SL)
Torksey East End (SL) 1 - 1 AS Noirmoutier (N1) (1 - 2 AET)
Club Jacobshavn (N1) 1 - 2 Freidrikhavn FC (N1)
Anglo Cwlen (N1) 1 - 2 Olympique Brehat (N1)
Fishguard FC (SL) 3 - 2 Tafwys University (N1)
Club Efriaros (N1) 2 - 3 Sparta Longborth (SL)
Holsteinborg FC (N1) 3 - 0 Husavik FC (N1)
Longborth Cross FC (SL) 6 - 0 Uppsker Vale (N1)
Chaldock Wanderers (N1) 2 - 6 Racing Clube De Brehat (SL)
SC Paimpol (N1) 2 - 1 Christenborg Norse (N1)

A couple of shocks came around in the first round, Heilgurbar went to Tipner Road and saw off the Longshanks with a dogged defensive display, a trait that has benefited them so far in the second tier. Elsewhere and the big boys largely avoided shocks, the next biggest surprise being a poor East End side being seen off by the misfiring AS Noirmoutier, who showed that they do have quality on their day. Longborth Cross and Carewton Stannary both doled out thrashings that demonstrated just how much of a gulf in standards there are between the top of the Super League, and the bottom of National 1.

Tilbury Scuttlers 5–2 Sparta Longborth
Carewton Stannary 2–2 Bosham Athletic
Carewton Longshanks 3–3 Ruisling Juniors
Svaelaborg 0–0 Friskney Rovers
Racing Clube Brehat 1–0 Brysborg Metro
Torksey West End 2–1 Longborth Cross
Torksey East End 1–1 Fishguard FC
Wedgebury Occident 2–1 Cwlen Cymru

The weekend began with a couple of frenetic performances. The Scuttlers and Sparta exchanged blows in a 5-2 win at home for Tilbury, but this perhaps flattered them, with two big deflected goals taking things from a competitive 2-1 to having the game out of sight. Meanwhile, Carewton Longshanks sought to establish their reputation as a club to be feared against league leaders Juniors. Longshanks went in at half-time 3-1 ahead, producing a display full of flair and energy, Lidia Toppin pulled the strings from the base of midfield, finding acres of space to lace through balls and put Juniors to the sword. Juniors, however, are a results machine, and this first half dominance did not continue. The midfield pushed up, the press upped and Longshanks found themselves starved of the ball and exposed. Carrier and Alejandro pressed Toppin endlessly, frequently turning the ball over and running at the exposed back line. Merten took full advantage, netting twice to bring back the draw.

The other big fixture saw RC Brehat produce a less exciting, but very complete, display against title hopefuls Metro. It was a very atypical display for them, they netted early from a corner, and instead of pressing endlessly ahead, they held possession, they deprived Metro the ability to come back at them, and a one-nil win, that leaves them looking like genuine contenders for a Challengers Cup place.

Sparta Longborth 3–1 Cwlen Cymru
Fishguard FC 0–1 Wedgebury Occident
Longborth Cross 1–1 Torksey East End
Brysborg Metro 1–0 Torksey West End
Friskney Rovers 3–2 Racing Clube Brehat
Ruisling Juniors 3–1 Svaelaborg
Bosham Athletic 2–0 Carewton Longshanks
Tilbury Scuttlers 0–4 Carewton Stannary

The table is tight, and this round of fixtures did nothing to change that. Down the bottom and Sparta Longborth won a massive six pointer over Cwlen Cymru. So far this season, these two have taken diametrically opposite approaches. Sparta have often looked overactive, pressing forward like overexciting puppies, often looking naive, and having been involved in plenty of high scoring fixtures. Cymru, meanwhile, have sat deep, tried to be hard to break through and have looked very solid, if entirely blunt going forward. The clubs also contrast more widely, the provincial Cymru have overachieved massively given their circumstances, whilst the urban Sparta have often bobbled along below their level. Sparta's approach was vindicated here, however, as 16 year old wonder kid, Jonatan Hall, provided a thrilling display, dropping back into midfield and supplying two assists before sealing a massive three points with marvelous solo effort.

Elsewhere and the race for Challenger Cup spots remains tight, Stannary, Friskney and Metro all bagged three points with varying degrees of ease. Stannary's increasing attacking success is of particular note, whilst they lack some of the culture of the other best attacks this doesn't seem to make them less successful. Longborth Cross' malaise continues, as the gumption they showed in winning the title last year seems less present, they surrendered a one-nil lead late on to an East End side that can't be accused of having a lot of ways to get at other sides, a scrappy goal bundled in by Gorman proving enough to even the honours.

Racing Clube De Brehat (SL) 3 - 0 SC Paimpol (N1)
Friskney Rovers (SL) 2 - 1 Freidrikhavn FC (N1)
Longborth Cross FC (SL) 0 - 2 Ruisling Juniors (SL)
Sparta Longborth (SL) 2 - 3 Wedgebury Occident (SL)
Torksey West End (SL) 3 - 1 Holsteinborg FC (N1)
Svaelaborg (SL) 1 - 0 Heilgurbar Athletic (N1)
AS Noirmoutier (N1) 3 - 2 Fishguard FC (SL)
Carewton Stannary (SL) 4 - 2 Olympique Brehat (N1)

The big tie of this round was clearly always going to be Longborth Cross, the champions, facing off against table topping Ruisling Juniors. Longborth Cross refused to play ball, as they slid to an all too easy two-nil defeat to Ruisling's second string, with that they keep the dreams of a treble alive. Elsewhere, and most second tier clubs were seen off, although Friskney left it late to see their way past Freidrikhavn, despite their gulf in quality. AS Noirmoutier continued to confound, producing an excellent display to see off Fishguard, who will return their focus to propping up the Super League.

Carewton Stannary 2–2 Sparta Longborth
Carewton Longshanks 1–2 Tilbury Scuttlers
Svaelaborg 0–2 Bosham Athletic
Racing Clube Brehat 3–7 Ruisling Juniors
Torksey West End 1–3 Friskney Rovers
Torksey East End 0–1 Brysborg Metro
Wedgebury Occident 0–1 Longborth Cross
Cwlen Cymru 0–1 Fishguard FC

The focus will rightly fall on Ruisling Juniors madcap trip to the Stade Rose out on the Ile-de-Plestan, but there were other results of consequence this weekend. Credit has to go to Fishguard, as they came out the better of a game that no neutral would surely opt to watch, but they drag themselves off the foot of the table. Them and Cmyru saw out a contest light on high quality possession, and very heavy on work from set pieces. Tilbury also took a big result away to Longshanks, two second half goal, skillfully worked in by the irascible Knutsson, put them ahead. This three points for Scuttlers makes it just three points between the potential last Challenger Cup spot and the bottom half of the table.

Okay, onto the real big game of the weekend, and there was a lot of anticipation for RC Brehat playing host to league leading Rusiling Juniors. Juniors so far had a knack for controlling games, and seeing off opponents at will, so how would they handle the chaos, pace and intent of Brehat? In the first half, it looked like they might not, the deep lying Trygve Holtman frequently carved passes through their defense, and Henley continued her habit of popping up in the right spots to nail a brace before the break. Juniors had come back before, but how would they take the game to a team buzzing with such energy? This became clear in a frantic second half, 5 goals were exchanged in just 15 minutes after half time, Casie Merten bagging herself a hattrick in that time, and with that it was 4-3. Juniors seemingly realised the only way to kill the game was to go full throttle, three more goals bundled in before full-time, although some say they were flattered by the scoreline.

Sparta Longborth 1–2 Fishguard FC
Longborth Cross 4–0 Cwlen Cymru
Brysborg Metro 5–3 Wedgebury Occident
Friskney Rovers 1–1 Torksey East End
Ruisling Juniors 4–3 Torksey West End
Bosham Athletic 4–1 Racing Clube Brehat
Tilbury Scuttlers 6–1 Svaelaborg
Carewton Stannary 1–5 Carewton Longshanks

This round of fixtures continues the segmentation that seems to be opening up in the league, mirroring the old set up of the league, with a bottom 6 cut adrift from the other 10. Any of the bottom 6 can be considered a candidate for relegation at present, Fishguard had looked like they might get left behind before back to back wins away at relegation rivals saw them out of the bottom three, a late goal against Sparta seeing them swap sides of the dotted line. In the top ten and 5 points separate that last Challenger Cup spot from tenth, Bosham Athletic seem to be starring to gather some form with their third win on the bounce, this one an impressive 4-1 dispatching of RC Brehat, as their front three looks increasingly accomplished.

The biggest fixture going into the weekend was Stannary taking on Longshanks in the Carewton derby. Stannary's attempt to transition to a more attacking style would be given the ultimate test, as they took on their stylish, but historically flaky, neighbours. Longshanks put the home side to the sword, a flurry of 2 goals before, and 2 after half-time ending the game as a contest. Longshank fan went mad in the away end, and had to be under heavy police escort on their exit. Longshanks haven't finished above Stannary in the table since 1969, but they'll hope this result marks the beginning of success transferring across the city to Tipner Road.

Ruisling Juniors (SL) 2 - 1 Svaelaborg (SL)
Wedgebury Occident (SL) 3 - 1 Torksey West End (SL)
Carewton Stannary (SL) 1 - 1 Friskney Rovers (SL) (2 -2 AET, 3-0 PKs)
Racing Clube De Brehat (SL) 1 - 2 AS Noirmoutier (N1)

The quarter-finals, where people start to take the Professionals' Trophy seriously. Three wins now separate these sides from the third most serious bit of silverware available this season. Eyes turned first to the Stannary/Rovers match-up, two sides, both representing mining towns, and both the most successful teams in the north of the country. The match itself proved an exciting encounter, both sides scoring spectacular goals from range against otherwise rock solid defenses. A goal from 15 yards for Van der Laar seemed to settle it, before super sub Trejo pulled one back. Stannary eventually squeaked home through penalties, leaving them in contention for the first silverware of the season.

In the other fixtures, and Ruisling Juniors kept hope of a treble going, as they continued their 22 game unbeaten streak. An easy two-one win came against Svaelaborg whilst fielding a weakened team. Occident, meanwhile, knocked out West End, ending their hopes of retaining a trophy they've taken home three times before. Finally, AS Noirmoutier continued to confound their awful league form by seeing off RC Brehat. Brehat seem to have entered a mini slump, with two back to back defeats in the league now compounded by a cup shock.

Carewton Longshanks 5–4 Sparta Longborth
Svaelaborg 0–0 Carewton Stannary
Racing Clube Brehat 3–0 Tilbury Scuttlers
Torksey West End 0–3 Bosham Athletic
Torksey East End 0–3 Ruisling Juniors
Wedgebury Occident 2–1 Friskney Rovers
Cwlen Cymru 0–0 Brysborg Metro
Fishguard FC 0–0 Longborth Cross

And here we are, the half way point of the season. Ruisling Juniors manage to end the calendar year in stellar position, another easy win came away to East End, who offered little resistance. Behind them in the table and Metro's dogged attempts to play catch up continue to falter, Cwlen Cymru might not be able to score, but their ten men behind the ball act got them another vital point in the race for relegation. Svaelaborg's slightly more expensive version of this style of play also kept them in the race to avoid relegation, they held the stuttering Stannary to a draw.

In other results, another win for Bosham and the pre-season hype is beginning to look a little more justified, they took Tilbury apart in a mature and controlled display in front of their own fans. Carewton Longshanks will also be pleased going into the January transfer window, they sit in the second Challenger Cup spot having seen off Sparta Longborth in a thrilling 5-4 showdown.

The Courier & Gazette

Transfer Nonsense Begins in Earnest

The January transfer window always seems to offer a different prospect to the summer one, and with it slightly different grist to the rumour mill. Gone are the vague promises of long term projects, of building towards something sensible, of trying to tease out the advantage in the market using unknown statistics, hard-nosed pragmatism and cold logic. Instead, here comes the panic buys, those expensive bids for glory, those cliches of player, purchased to put coal in the fire down that last stretch to death or glory. Gone is the purchase of the 'underrated' striker, who'slack of goal contribution matters less if you dig into their data. Out goes the cultured ball-playing centre-back, with their league topping pass completion stats. Interest evaporates in that ultra-modern pressing machine of a midfielder. In their place interest returns to the '20 goals a season' striker, the 'imperious' centre-half and the highlight reel hogging, ball glued to foot, dribbling midfielder. Never mind that these transfers almost always end badly for club and player, some teams need reinforcements, and they need them now. Equally, many players find themselves pining for the greener grass at this time of year. So, the speculation must commence.

What a better place to start than where promising talent, and horrific duds, are often yielded from, the second tier. Husavik posses many player who would likely consider agitating for a month, but so long as they top National 1, it would seem incentive ties players to stay there for a rapid return to the first division. This is, apart from Andrea Perry. At 22 she looks promising inverted winger, and looks a cut above both National 1 level and that of the bottom half of the Super League. Instead, she's drawing interest from Friskney Rovers, which would give them an option to move to a 3-4-3 system, giving them some flexibility they currently lack. Tilbury Scuttlers are also interested, and Perry would instantly go into and improve their XI, but it remains to be seen if they have the funds available.

For more traditional second tier targets we look to Maiken Vergoossen of Anglo Cwlen, a side stuck outside of the play-off spots, and unlikely to trouble the top of the table by the end of the year. Maiken may be 33, but still has a happy habit of putting the ball home, which several sides at the bottom of the Super League could use right now. Goal starved Fishguard are understood to be interested, depending on what the valuation of Vergoossen is, as she'd represent an upgrade on what they have currently. Wedgebury Occident have been somewhat more goal happy so far this season, but are also understood to be looking for an improved striker to bolster their bid for safety. On the left-wing Kit Knapp of Anglo Cwlen provides another bright spark in a slightly dire team, his performances coming of the left might finally earn him a move to the big league at age 28. Sparta would be interested, providing a route to first team football, whilst RC Brehat hae shown interest for Knapp in becoming a different option for them off the bench.

Not all wantaways live in the second tier, however, for this tip we drop down to the third tier's Glasbury FC. This side have proved one of the most exciting in the tier, with the joint best attack and second worst defense. At the heart of the attack is the effervescent 17 year old Monika Magoon. Her game remains raw, but 20 goals in 12 appearances down in tier 3, shows her quality in front of goal. Unlikely to walk straight into the first team in tier 1, several teams are considering lining her up for the future, with Tilbury Scuttlers and Carewton Stannary known to be very interested due to their current lack of a high quality striker. Ruisling Juniors have also expressed interest as part of their succession planning. Teams near the bottom of the Super League and at the top of National 1 are also thinking of buying with an eye to moving this raw talent into their front line straight away. Whilst Occident and Fishguard again appear as names, Bryndu Rovers and SC Paimpol are also looking to add flair to their promotion push.

Finally, the biggest rumours of all swirl in the Super League. With some teams struggling at half way, now would be the time to make an ill-advised lurch for glory. Belva Essex, Stannary's cultured left-winger, is thought to be unsettled in her current role, and wants a transfer away to a team challenging for silverware. This will ring a bell for many, she had said much the same the previous summer, before the arrival of new manager Parker convinced her to stay. She had also said similar when Stannary bought her 5 years ago at the start of the 1981/82 season. Back then Stannary were only 4 seasons removed from their last league triumph, and by adding the sparkling 25 year old winger they thought they were buying the sort of player to bring the title back to the Tinyard. Now Parker's project seems as far as ever from bringing the Super League back, and Essex seems to have decided glory lies elsewhere. Any of Bosham, Metro or Juniors have the money to do it, and for all three Essex would either go straight into the first eleven, or at least the rotation. Metro seem, perhaps, the most likely prospect, both Essex and Metro might believe this could be the transfer to shake up the title race as Juniors look to pull ahead.

Should Essex make her move away from the Tinyard, then this would have a knock on impact as Stannary don't currently believe that Annelies Hall has the quality to step up into Essex's place. Instead, a move for Torksey West End's Max Jacobs will likely happen, who provides a very similar style of play. Finally, it is thought that a loan move is being lined up for Bosham's Darnell Kitzmiller, who has struggled to settle since a move in from RC Brehat in the summer, being unable to displace Enrique Yardley. Bryndu Rovers and SC Paimpol are both understood to be interested in a loan move for the 19 year old playmaker.

In a season of political turmoil, the KFA has scheduled matches to be played as normal, but only a handful of fixtures have been successfully completed per matchday. For that reason, the KFA is forced to re-enter last year's teams once more. The current season, while underway, isn't far enough along to decide IFCF (and other) competition participation.

It all started in the long Selpernim Holiday, known as summer vacation in most other countries, which lasts for about 6 weeks (or 7, given the Ko-orenite 6-day week), during which several mayors and provincial governors, together with some members of parliament (from the Parti des Régions and Yoshima Dokuritsu Tou factions, as well as others), debated with Regional and Local Affairs minister Irimia Padin and the Secretary for Government Henery Habborlain - at length - with various experts and officials called in time and time again to hear their opinions. The conversation carried into the night, then the morning, as the meeting passed the 24 hour mark. Concerns, talking points, and decisions were written down and sent to the other ministries and secretaries to take note of, and the debators continued discussions that evening.

"Despite the national government's care for local languages and traditions, it does not devolve enough to make effective policies" was the conclusion after several days. And from that moment onwards, things moved fast.

Within a week, Justice minister Al Bonhomme had plans ready for new court hierarchy, allowing local levels of government to make temporary as well as local laws and uphold them. Finance minister Robert Bawden sat with the provincial governors to restructure budget allocation to subdivisional levels. Trade, industry, zoning laws, agriculture, and social services are all to be devolved to local levels.

Then things took a turn for the worse when it was found that several companies - including government contractors - saw the writing on the wall and doubled the shipment of certain goods into areas that could pass laws to ban those goods. With their newfound powers, Sudaefjoll and Nordoren governors Degermark and Struimberg shut their borders with Intermare for 90% of traffic. Aerellen briefly allowed no cargo, Finisterre governor Santiago immediately launched talks with Cote Austral's Monteil and Surbourneshire's Holland to keep borders open.

Barton Holland, meanwhile, had bigger problems within the subdivision. Surbourneshire might not be among the few largest subdivisions, but it comprises several different groups with their own economic drivers. The city of Surbourneshire with its large service sector and harbour, the miners to the east in downtrodden Metalwright and Gemwright, and the domestic tourism heartland of Albion & Argyle and eastern Grainshire. This was an opportunity for mayors in these areas to communicate their problems with the governor - who was forced to listen - and to make the Ko-orenite public care about these issues too, several border-crossing events were cancelled immediately. This includes professional sports.

Ko-oren railways are also trying to run trains were possible, cancelling part of their service and running shorter lines where possible.

It will take a little while to sort out these internal problems, and that's likely when the league will start back up. Whether the KFA starts with a new slate or whether it lets current results stand is TBD.

2031-32 Fleftic Premier League, Part Three

Postby Abanhfleft » Sun Dec 27, 2020 9:28 am

Matchday Ten Scores
Electric Yugal 0–1 Rosenpfelblatz North End
Riuwiee United 1–0 Sarvusdalamoive
Xemlice Rovers 4–0 Sporting Ceneisis
Locomotive Imgortur 0–2 Wanda Island Wanderers
Fleftic Air Force 2–0 Paulsen FC
Rodrigues FC 1–2 Rosenpfelblatz City
Ludogorets Markovsky 1–1 Athletic Dorfdifving
Admiral Porcusces 0–0 Arsenal de Releinthi
Malabon SC 1–1 Thereisnogodistan
Pawwazim 0–0 Marinos Thimpodopoulos

And just as quickly as Malabon SC appeared in first place, they just as quickly dropped right out of it. It couldn't be helped though; Thereisnogodistan realized that they were in deep trouble and decided that Matchday Ten is the day that they're going to rectify their situation and get out of the relegation battle while they still can. Of course it had to coincide with Arthur Supratno suddenly forgetting where the ball is supposed to go. Add to that the one Gejus Welcker banger that must be scored once every season and there's the recipe for the Ravens conceding top spot. It's Xemlice Rovers who take advantage of the opportunity to grab first place, and at the same time they had the added bonus of bringing the hurt to the defending champions Sporting Ceneisis. The Gamekeepers appear to be really intent on getting rid of that chokers moniker, and so far they've been going at it the right way. Who knew winning games is the quickest way to win a championship?

Matchday Eleven Scores
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 0–0 Electric Yugal
Thereisnogodistan 1–0 Pawwazim
Arsenal de Releinthi 3–1 Malabon SC
Athletic Dorfdifving 0–1 Admiral Porcusces
Rosenpfelblatz City 3–0 Ludogorets Markovsky
Paulsen FC 0–1 Rodrigues FC
Wanda Island Wanderers 2–1 Fleftic Air Force
Sporting Ceneisis 0–0 Locomotive Imgortur
Sarvusdalamoive 3–1 Xemlice Rovers
Rosenpfelblatz North End 1–0 Riuwiee United

Ooh, and just as we were talking about Xemlice not choking anymore, they just went and choked once again. It really looks like they just can't help it. It's in their nature, their blood. Their fans always hope that the next season will be the season that they finally drop the identity of perennial league chokers, but as always there's always something that trips up the Gamekeepers. This time it's struggling Sarvusdalamoive who played host to Xemlice and, for lack of a better term, kicked the poor bastards around. The Pinks played like a side fighting for the Challengers' Cup places and not one threatened with falling into the relegation zone, while Xemlice look absolutely lost and clueless. Their only saving grace at this point is the fact that Riuwiee United choked their game against Rosenpfelblatz North End as well. Maksim Shinkarenko saw the shitshow that was happening in Sebet and he thought, "I want some of that too." Xemlice can't be the only team to choke in this title fight. There's being competitive, and then there's this. Sure, it makes for a more entertaining title race, but surely the fans won't appreciate things happening like this.

Matchday Twelve Scores
Electric Yugal 1–0 Riuwiee United
Xemlice Rovers 1–0 Rosenpfelblatz North End
Locomotive Imgortur 1–2 Sarvusdalamoive
Fleftic Air Force 2–1 Sporting Ceneisis
Rodrigues FC 0–1 Wanda Island Wanderers
Ludogorets Markovsky 5–1 Paulsen FC
Admiral Porcusces 0–0 Rosenpfelblatz City
Malabon SC 6–1 Athletic Dorfdifving
Pawwazim 1–5 Arsenal de Releinthi
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 0–1 Thereisnogodistan

The story keeps on twisting and turning. Now it's Riuwiee United's turn to choke while Xemlice Rovers took home the W. And of course United had to lose to damned Electric Yugal, the only team this season still yet to win a game before this. It's the very fact that the Bolts have found themselves firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, and on paper this match was certainly one that United looked capable of winning handily, but of course the FPL doesn't work that way. Maksim Shinkarenko and Blue Tribesmen fans were reminded of this fact on Matchday Twelve as Electric surprised everyone, even themselves, by stealing all three points from right beneath United's noses. Meanwhile, Xemlice secure their lead over everyone else in the FPL with a 1-0 victory over Rosen North End, while Malabon SC slide into 2nd place thanks to their 6-1 crushing of Athletic Dorfdifving. Sporting Ceneisis' woes continue as the Blues fall to a 2-1 defeat away to Fleftic Air Force. Ceneisis are creeping ever closer to the relegation zone, and the fans in Mereilles are growing ever more concerned by the minute. Vaughn Palladino's job is not in danger at the moment, but the onus is on him to turn this ship around and steer them back to the top half of the table.

Matchday Thirteen Scores
Thereisnogodistan 1–2 Electric Yugal
Arsenal de Releinthi 0–1 Marinos Thimpodopoulos
Athletic Dorfdifving 1–0 Pawwazim
Rosenpfelblatz City 0–3 Malabon SC
Paulsen FC 0–0 Admiral Porcusces
Wanda Island Wanderers 0–1 Ludogorets Markovsky
Sporting Ceneisis 1–1 Rodrigues FC
Sarvusdalamoive 0–5 Fleftic Air Force
Rosenpfelblatz North End 0–0 Locomotive Imgortur
Riuwiee United 1–0 Xemlice Rovers

Riuwiee United versus Xemlice Rovrs was a match that could very well decide the FPL title race, but not necessarily to the favor of either side. Yes, after the 90 minutes it was the Blue Tribesmen who walked away with all three points, but once again Malabon SC have emerged from the shadows to steal the spotlight, not least because of their 3-0 stomping of Rosenpfelblatz City. The Citizens have just not been the same since Max Fetfatzidis retired from football, and they just haven't found a replacement yet for the Fhulghamousian international too. And another side continuing to struggle is Sporting Ceneisis. The defending champions were once again unable to make their early lead count, allowing Rodrigues FC to grab a goal and a point from what they would have thought would have been a fruitless trip to Mereilles. But seriously now, what in the world is going on at Throckmorton Bridge? This club is a shadow of the one that took home the Premier League trophy just a few months ago. Surely now all thoughts must be turned towards damage limitation and ensuring that this bad situation doesn't get any worse. Forget about defending the title, Ceneisis fans will be happy if they don't fall into a relegation scrap right now.

Matchday Fourteen Scores
Electric Yugal 0–0 Xemlice Rovers
Locomotive Imgortur 1–0 Riuwiee United
Fleftic Air Force 3–2 Rosenpfelblatz North End
Rodrigues FC 0–0 Sarvusdalamoive
Ludogorets Markovsky 3–3 Sporting Ceneisis
Admiral Porcusces 0–2 Wanda Island Wanderers
Malabon SC 3–3 Paulsen FC
Pawwazim 0–2 Rosenpfelblatz City
Marinos Thimpodopoulos 4–4 Athletic Dorfdifving
Thereisnogodistan 1–0 Arsenal de Releinthi

It's not bad, but at the same time it's not good for Sporting Ceneisis. Morale must not have been particuarly high as the team made the long trip from Mereilles to Markovsky to square off against their rivals Ludogorets given the former's poor form, but form almost always counts for nothing in a derby match such as this. Ludogorets stormed to an early lead through goals from AP Kelly, Damian Selikov, and Quintrell Lidgley, and the Foresters were basically cruising through the rest of the match before Ceneisis mounted an improbable comeback in the last half hour of the game through Josh Saxon, Ram Walia, and Christian Vacek Jr. Just one more goal and maybe the Blues could have dragged themselves right back up to midtable, but it was not to be.

How about that title race though? At the moment it appears to be more of a race to see who messes up more chances to secure top spot in the league. Malabon SC could have extended their lead by three points over their nearest competitor after Xemlice Rovers couldn't break the deadlock against Electric Yugal, but the Ravens went through a similar situation with Ludogorets Markovsky in that Malabon took an early three-goal lead and was basically controlling the game until Paulsen ramped up their attacks and managed to turn the game almost all the other way round. Malabon are surely ruing those two points they dropped right now, but would they rue those two points come the end of the season? It's still a possibility. This is the Fleftic Premier League, after all. Titles have been won and lost by two points or less.

20 Pawwazim 14 3 2 9 8 18 −10 11 Relegation to Unang Liga

It's another tight contest for the title after Matchday 14; the top five sides in the competition all within a four-point gap, and a few other teams waiting on the wings ready to capitalize on any slip-up on the part of the teams in the lead. Malabon SC could have extended their lead to three points instead of just one, but a late draw against Paulsen FC have allowed the likes of Xemlice Rovers, Riuwiee United, and even Wanda Island Wanderers a fighting chance to claim top spot as well. Down at the bottom of the table, it's not looking too good for the three teams promoted from Unang Liga. Electric Yugal have finally managed to win a couple of games to drag themselves away from the literal foot of the table, but they remain inside the drop zone thanks to their inferior goal difference compared to, of all teams, the defending champions Sporting Ceneisis. Unusually for a nation full of reactionary fanbases, the demand for Vaughn Palladino to get the sack has not been as loud as when Oleg Mostovoi made Arsenal de Releinthi flirt with relegation himself. It's probably because Palladino is an old Ceneisis boy and he's still riding on the goodwill of having won the Fleftic Premier League, but he surely can't expect this goodwill to last forever. He needs to turn this around and fast, or else this could become the second straight season where the defending FPL champions get relegated the season immediately after.
