Tight Top Four as Season Enters Final Stages

Image

by Tufan Nursultan

Manat FK 6-3 Ampul Fabrika Takimi
Ilac Fabrika Takimi 0-1 Karairmakspor
Uryanspor 2-0 Altinmaden Isciler
Elektriklestirmespor 1-0 Sariirmakspor
Hisar FK 0-1 Demir Buyukkentspor
Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi 4-1 Tutunspor
Tashkentspor 2-2 Tanrispor
Demirspor 1-0 Bakir FK
Almat JK 1-0 Caykur Denizspor

With the cup break over, the league resumed in typically exciting fashion, with this week's match of the week seeing Manat come away 6-3 winners after their terrible Vizier's Cup. Karairmakspor got themselves a rare win over IFT the lone goal enough to see them take all three points. Uryanspor showed off their defensive fortitude as they provided the base for their 2-0 win over Altinmaden Isciler. Elektriklestirmespor opened this hald of the season with a slightly laborious win over Sariirmakspor. Hisar suffered a stunning defeat to Demir Buyukkentspor, who took the points across the city from their more illustrious rivals. DBFT easily dispatched Tutunspor by a three goal margin. Tashkentspor and Tanrispor shared the points after a back-and-forth 2-2 result. Demirspor and Almat both kept the three points in the capital with 1-0 wins over their respective opponents.

Match of the Week - Manat FK 6-3 Ampul Fabrika Takimi - Manat came out swinging after their disappointing Vizier's Cup performance and put on a show this week, with a 4-0 half time lead that was unassailable, despite an admirable comeback attempt from AFT, Ismail Burhan was the real star with a hattrick.

Karairmakspor 1-1 Manat FK
Altinmaden Isciler 1-1 Ampul Fabrika Takimi
Sariirmakspor 1-1 Ilac Fabrika Takimi
Demir Buyukkentspor 1-5 Uryanspor
Tutunspor 2-4 Elektriklestirmespor
Tanrispor 0-1 Hisar FK
Bakir FK 0-2 Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi
Caykur Denizspor 0-1 Tashkentspor
Almat JK 3-1 Demirspor

With the 20th matchday, Manat, AFT and IFT were held to 1-1 draws on their away trips. Uryanspor and Elektriklestirmespor meanwhile, took clear and decisive wins away from hope winning by a score of 5-1 and 4-2 respectively. A series of clean sheets away from home saw Hisar, DBFT and Tashkentspor take wins and bring three points to their homes. Almat would see off city rivals Demirspor 3-1.

Match of the Week - Tutunspor 2-4 Elektriklestirmespor - Elektriklestirme showed off their title credentials with a good solid with over Tutunspor in this week's match of the week, coming back from a sucker punch of an early goal to win convincingly with help from Bayram Tansu's brace.

Manat FK 2-1 Altinmaden Isciler
Karairmakspor 0-0 Sariirmakspor
Ampul Fabrika Takimi 1-1 Demir Buyukkentspor
Ilac Fabrika Takimi 1-1 Tutunspor
Uryanspor 2-0 Tanrispor
Elektriklestirmespor 4-0 Bakir FK
Hisar FK 2-0 Caykur Denizspor
Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi 6-3 Almat JK
Tashkentspor 0-4 Demirspor

Manat got back to winning ways with an awkward, but much needed win over Altinmaden Isciler. Karairmakspor clung on to a bore draw against Sariirmakspor. AFT and IFT both held onto crucial draws against Demir Buyukkentspor and Tutunspor respectively. Uryanspor, Elektriklestirmespor and Hisar all got clean sheets at home while taking the three points, while Demirspor went to Tashkent and smashed Taskhentspor 4-0. DBFT and Almat played out this week's match of the week with a wild 6-3 final score.

Match of the Week - Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi 6-3 Almat JK - DBFT flexed their muscles and put on a display of offensive prowess that is rarely matched in this league. Omer Tameroglu got four goals for himself as he ran the Demir side ragged.

Sariirmakspor 2-6 Manat FK
Demir Buyukkentspor 2-0 Altinmaden Isciler
Tutunspor 3-0 Karairmakspor
Tanrispor 0-1 Ampul Fabrika Takimi
Bakir FK 1-0 Ilac Fabrika Takimi
Caykur Denizspor 0-1 Uryanspor
Almat JK 0-3 Elektriklestirmespor
Demirspor 1-1 Hisar FK
Tashkentspor 1-1 Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi

Sariirmakspor took a shock lead, but were ultimately comfortably bested by Manat 6-2 in this week's match of the week. Demir Buyukkentspor and Tutunspor both got comfortably wins over their visitors keeping a clean sheet on their way to three points, as did Bakir FK in their 1-0 win over IFT. Uryanspor and Elektriklestirmespor kept up in the title race with both getting good wins against tough opponents away from home, Uryanspor besting their hosts 1-0 and Elektriklestirmespor taking three points from Almat. Hisar and Demirspor played out a 1-1 draw in one of the capital city's less relevant derbies this season while DBFT slipped up against Tashkentspor to only come away with one point.

Match of the Week - Sariirmakspor 2-6 Manat FK - Manat came back from an early mishap which left them two goals down to win by an impressive four goal margin in a display of their offensive superiority over pretty much all of the league.

Manat FK 1-5 Demir Buyukkentspor
Sariirmakspor 2-0 Tutunspor
Altinmaden Isciler 3-3 Tanrispor
Karairmakspor 0-2 Bakir FK
Ampul Fabrika Takimi 0-1 Caykur Denizspor
Ilac Fabrika Takimi 4-0 Almat JK
Uryanspor 1-0 Demirspor
Elektriklestirmespor 2-0 Tashkentspor
Hisar FK 0-1 Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi

Manat suffered a stunning 5-1 defeat at the hands of their city rivals, Demir Buyukkentspor, which left them stunned as they walked off the pitch. Sariirmakspor and Bakir FK both got clear 2-0 victories, while Altinmaden Isciler and Tanrispor played out this week's match of the week in a 3-3 draw. Elsewhere there were wins for Caykur Denizspor, IFT, Uryanspor, Elektriklestirmespor and DBFT.

Match of the Week - Altinmaden Isciler 3-3 Tanrispor - This clash between mid table Tanrispor and relegation candidates Altinmaden Isciler looked as if it would break for the relegation candidates, but Emir Aga's hattrick saved his side's blushes.

Tutunspor 0-2 Manat FK
Tanrispor 0-1 Demir Buyukkentspor
Bakir FK 1-0 Sariirmakspor
Caykur Denizspor 2-0 Altinmaden Isciler
Almat JK 4-0 Karairmakspor
Demirspor 6-1 Ampul Fabrika Takimi
Tashkentspor 1-0 Ilac Fabrika Takimi
Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi 0-1 Uryanspor
Hisar FK 1-2 Elektriklestirmespor

Manat bounced back from their horrific defeat the past matchday with a 2-0 win over Tutunspor, while fellow Demir side Buyukkentspor got a 1-0 win over Tanrispor. Bakir FK, Caykur Denizspor and Almat each got cleans sheets and big wins over their visitors. Demirspor unleashed their wrath upon AFT coming away with a 6-1 win. Tashkentspor and Uryanspor each got 1-0 wins over their opponents as Elektriklestirmespor saw off reigning champions Hisar FK.

Match of the Week - Hisar FK 1-2 Elektriklestirmespor - Elektriklestirme showed off their title credentials with a tough victory over the defending champions. Yusuf Akman gave Hisar the lead, but Bayram Tansu had the last laugh for Elektriklestirme with a late goal that took the three points out of the capital.

Manat FK 1-2 Tanrispor
Tutunspor 0-2 Bakir FK
Demir Buyukkentspor 1-1 Caykur Denizspor
Sariirmakspor 2-2 Almat JK
Altinmaden Isciler 1-7 Demirspor
Karairmakspor 0-2 Tashkentspor
Ampul Fabrika Takimi 1-5 Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi
Ilac Fabrika Takimi 0-2 Hisar FK
Uryanspor 2-0 Elektriklestirmespor

Manat fell to another shock defeat as Tanrispor came to Demir expecting a hiding and came out with all three points. Bakir FK would see off Tutunspor, while Demir Buyukkentspor and Sariirmakspor barely clung on against their energetic visitors for a share of the points. Demirspor and DBFT came away with thumping 7-1 and 5-1 victories respectively while there were a trio of 2-0 wins for Tashkentspor, Hisar and Uryanspor.

Match of the Week - Manat FK 1-2 Tanrispor - The long time presumptive champions came undone against Tanrispor who dealt them a painful defeat in front of their home fans, Emir Aga's brace being enough to ensure that Manat were left pointless this week.

Bakir FK 0-2 Manat FK
Caykur Denizspor 0-1 Tanrispor
Almat JK 0-0 Tutunspor
Demirspor 1-0 Demir Buyukkentspor
Tashkentspor 1-1 Sariirmakspor

Hisar FK 1-1 Karairmakspor
Elektriklestirmespor 4-0 Ampul Fabrika Takimi
Uryanspor 2-0 Ilac Fabrika Takimi

Manat returned to winning ways again with a 2-0 win over Bakir FK, while Tanrispor and Demirspor both got 1-0 wins as Almat and Tutunspor played out a bore draw. Sariirmakspor and Karairmakspor both scavenged a point from their away trips as DBFT smashed Altinmaden Isciler 5-1. Elektriklestirmespor and Uryanspor both saw off AFT and IFT respectively.

Match of the Week - Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi 5-1 Altinmaden Isciler - DBFT came into this match off the back of a 5-1 win away from home and followed up with yet another one, with Omer Tameroglu scoring an impressive first half hattrick that essentially sealed the match for them.

Manat FK 6-4 Caykur Denizspor
Bakir FK 2-1 Almat JK
Tanrispor 3-2 Demirspor
Tutunspor 0-1 Tashkentspor
Demir Buyukkentspor 1-2 Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi
Sariirmakspor 1-0 Hisar FK
Altinmaden Isciler 1-3 Elektriklestirmespor
Karairmakspor 0-1 Uryanspor
Ampul Fabrika Takimi 1-0 Ilac Fabrika Takimi

Manat took the spoils from this week's match of the week with a 6-4 win over Caykur Denizspor, while Bakir FK, Tanrispor, Sariirmakspor and AFT each got their home victories, while Tashkentspor, DBFT, Elektriklestirmespor and Uryanspor each got away wins.

Match of the Week - Manat FK 6-4 Caykur Denizspor - Manat kept up with DBFT thanks to Ismail Burhan's absurd four goal day that led to them running out 6-4 winners over Caykur Denizspor.

Top Scorers:
Ismail Burhan (Manat FK) - 23
Omer Tameroglu (DBFT) - 19
Bayram Tansu (Elektriklestirmespor) - 15
Kartal Unal (Demirspor) - 14
Emir Aga (Tanrispor) - 13

Five Players Who May Be Moving On:
1. Berker Balkan (Uryanspor) - A starter on the national team and one of the reasons why Uryanspor has only conceded 8 goals in 27 matches. The talented and strong centre back will be rightly disappointed with Uryanspor's inability to make a serious play for the title, despite only being 4 points behind both Manat and DBFT they have the feel of a side who aren't going to be in the mix come the end of the season. Thankfully they aren't looking especially likely to drop out of the IFCF places, which may persuade some of their talent to stay, but the elite tier such as Berker will likely be moving swiftly on unless they pull off an unlikely title win.

2. Timurdogan Yerli (Sariirmakspor) - Timurdogan Yerli had a brief spell abroad at Wildeport Wanderers and was let go by the club, this prompted his return to Timuria, where he joined relegation threatened Sariirmakspor. The midfielder has been a rare positive for a side that has had a series of struggles all season long, with his crisp passing and good vision, granted to him by a tough year abroad, keeping the side in matches they have no business being competitive in. Whether or not Sariirmakspor face the drop it seems inevitable that the young midfielder will want to try his luck abroad again.

3. Emir Aga (Tanrispor) - The striker has had a very good season, racking up 13 goals in 27 matches for a side that have been condemned to mid table obscurity. His ability to support his teammates as well as the improvement in his final product in the second half of the season has put him on the radar of top Super League sides, but Tanrispor will be (rightly according to most) very reluctant to allow him to move on within Timuria as that would only allow them access to a youth player from the buying side's region. Instead if Emir seeks a move Tanrispor will likely only entertain offers from abroad and the striker who is on the bubble of the national team will likely catch some attention, aged only 24 when the window will open he will be entering his prime as a player and will be one to watch.

4. Resad Veysel (Demirspor) - Demirspor never lack for goals and that's largely because of the excellent players they have behind their fantastic strike force. The young left winger Resad Veysel has really come into his own and proven himself to be a real talent, who could given the right circumstances blossom into something truly spectacular. Whether Demirspor is the right environment for this is a matter of some debate, a side that is chronically underachieving and not competitive with its city rivals is hardly an enticing place for an up and coming player like Resad and the fact that Demirspor are unlikely to allow a move within Timuria it looks all but certain that he'll be on the move abroad for a decent price tag.

5. Oz Kizilkaya (Tashkentspor) - The midfielder has found himself out of favour at the international level, failing to make the step up in part due to his clubs struggles masking his talent. That being said, he is considered one of the most talented midfielders in the Super League and has a long, likely successful career ahead of him especially if he gets the right move and environment to develop further. He is still a little rough around the egdes, but at the end of the season he will be 22 and will have had U-21 international experience and played for a side that has won silverware, not a common set of experience for a player at this stage of his career. He will likely be looking abroad like the other four on this list as players of this quality are not ones who clubs would like to see their immediate rivals poach.

That's interesting, there's a tie for the 2nd place. Only one of them can promote. I didn't plan a tie break for ties. 3 options:

Option A: Tie break is goal difference. KSZT Trzebiegoszcz would win with a better GD. Seems like this is the tie break used by the scorinator.
Option B: Tie break is Wins. Pogon Zdzieszowice would win with 22 wins. 2 more wins than KSZT Trzebiegoszcz.
Option C: Tie break is games played against each other. 1st game was a 0-0 draw. 2nd game was a 1-0 win by KSZT Trzebiegoszcz. KSZT Trzebiegoszcz would win the tie break.

I think I'll pick Option A (or C) as the tie break.

Promoted to PLS: El Perro United F.C., KSZT Trzebiegoszcz

Pundits’ prediction: 1st of 20
Notes: The reigning champions saw some notable movement in the transfer window. They sold bright star Ihazintu Malkorra to the Nepharan Premiership and dealt with the retirement of playmaker Xabier Eskerra, but managed to acquire the services of former Astograthian international Xefe Larribe on his return from Apox and, most importantly, Nepharan defensive midfielder Servet Misidjan, from AFC Treason. Great things are expected from this reinforced midfield, and under manager Zorion Legeren’s continued leadership Sporting are in good position to strike for an unprecedented threepeat of the First Division title.

Pundits’ prediction: 2nd of 20
Notes: Urbizania Wanderers surpassed expectations last season by challenging for the title and finishing as runners-up. Manager Eriz Bakaikoa has earned himself respect and admiration due to his quick turnaround of the club’s fortunes, and carried through the off-season by making some strong teambuilding transfers. The departure of goalkeeper Gentza Bedigax to Siovanija and Teusland was tough to take, but he was swiftly replaced by Farf national team player Dieje Ibrelaná, and to round out the squad Loiola Urpi, Iracho Yeregi and Imanol Bethularan have arrived after shining at other First Division teams. 35 year-old Jê Çìró remains the team’s standout star, but rumours abound that he’ll be done after this season – and does he have what it takes to see it out?

Fans’ expectation: The title
Pundits’ prediction: 3rd of 20
Notes: After four seasons with Louis Vaudrail in charge, winning a league title and a Royal Cup, Royal Rumiatzi have shown him the door – and promptly watched him sign for the Astograthian national team. For his replacement, the board found no candidates to their liking within Astograth, so they extended their search far and wide. They held marathonic interview sessions and one of them was with a young Farf by the name of Lele Manguele. Manguele charmed the board with his promises of domestic and international glory as well as his bold iconoclasm, promising to outlaw anything resembling a tactical diagram at the club. They offered him the job immediately, despite later finding out he didn’t have an appointment. On the transfer market, Rumiatzi have made some notable signings, bringing in fearsome Euran forward Martin Blessed from Apox’s FC Endeavour, former Siovanijan international Lutz Daschner to play right-back and, on Manguele’s insistence, completely unknown Farf teenager Loxjilo Exihosahar as left-back. All signs point to this experiment going one of two ways – brilliant success or miserable failure.

Fans’ expectation: The title
Pundits’ prediction: 4th of 20
Notes: There is a longstanding theory that, no matter how poorly they might be doing, if one of the two Iturributan giants rises then the other will follow – and it has amazingly, consistently, held true. After some mediocre seasons, the past two years of Sporting Iturributa winning the title have featured United hot on their heels despite many initial doubts regarding their squad’s age and composition. Manager Machin Logegaray has cracked down hard on these during the pre-season, with flashy signings in the form of Brenecian centre-back Miriam Lechie, from Schottia’s Handon United, and Chromatik left winger Fangti Pikolaugh, from Lhor. Coupled with the cutting of deadwood and several youth products taking their placing, the Scarlet Sashes seem prepared for another serious challenge to Sporting’s title reign.

Seasons in the First Division: 38 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Top 4
Pundits’ prediction: 5th of 20
Notes: Ituraitz FC have certainly known better days. For a club of such stature, five seasons in a row without tasting silverware is something of an exception, and their problems run deeper still. After a disappointing 7th place finish they were forced to dismiss manager Abdoulaye Bocandé after just one season, and in replacement have brought in noted 4-4-2 enthusiast Bob Partridge, well-known in his native Euraleague. This plus the signing of winger Isidra Corvey from Kingsgrove has sparked enthusiasm in the port city; if they could lead Ituraitz to a spot in next season’s Challengers’ Cup at the least, it would go a long way toward restoring confidence in the club and its destiny.

Seasons in the First Division: 27 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Challengers’ Cup qualification
Pundits’ prediction: 6th of 20
Notes: Ikatz Alberro left a good impression after his first season in the charge at Olarria, leading them to a fifth-place finish. The club have been happy to continue cementing themselves in the top 6, but many feel the time is right for them to push into the top 4, or even mount the odd title challenge. To this end, they’ve signed Kelssekian winger Amber Docherty from Port City, forward Pachi Lakumetz from Gesterlake FC, and a number of young prospects including Hinodejin goalkeeper Ayuko Mitsushima. Ones to watch out for this season are goalkeeper Aurre Laurnagaray and Galáctico nominee Marko Martel, both new to the Astograthian national team, as well as striker Olentzaro Anseotori. Olarria’s North Point Stadium is currently being rebuilt into a top-of-the-line behemoth with 61 thousand seats, the fourth-largest ground in all of Astograth so, for this season, they’ll play elsewhere. Home matches will be at the nearby Itsasotik Park in Uidio, enhanced with temporary seating, and host the other top teams at the more distant Colossus in Soloandia.

Estimated squad value: Đ21.2 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★★★ / Training facilities ★★★★ / Youth system ★★★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 36 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Top 6
Pundits’ prediction: 7th of 20
Notes: Echegoyan have spent the last three seasons bouncing between 5th and 8th, occasionally moving into the top 4 but never for long. Manager Bakar Laranaga has down well to reverse the club’s downward spiral, but there’s still of a long way to go and they’ll have stiff opposition to repeat another top 6 finish – most likely from Athletic Olarria and the downtrodden Ituraitz FC. In the transfer market, Echegoyan made several moves: lost centre-back Amuruza Leyarra and striker Imanol Bethularan to Royal Rumiatzi and Urbizania Wanderers respectively, replacing them with Koldobika Obregozo, Asentzio Raskin and Peyo Isamendi. Similarly, they swapped out Eshani winger Lukasz Adalmek, off to Astograth Uni, for Miners FC’s Echeberri Herrekalde. This squad is relatively strong in attack, with a playmaker like Emenon Ulibarri, while the core of its defence is quite fragile, goalkeeper Perucho Garabieta the exception.

Infrastructure: Ground ★★★ / Training facilities ★★★★ / Youth system ★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 15 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Top-half finish
Pundits’ prediction: 8th of 20
Notes: Royal Ibarbe continue to punch well ahove their weight in achieving top-half finishes. Fans have reason to be worried ahead of this season, however, with their defence being eviscerated during the transfer window – three of their starters have been poached by Royal Rumiatzi, Urbizania Wanderers and Echegoyan FC. In response, Ibarbe sprung for Nepharan left-back Gareth Carney from Morningstar, Gortz United’s Iraunkor Garasa and Hinodejin centre-back Hissho Munuzo, but it may not be enough to make up for all the quality they’ve lost.

Seasons in the First Division: 11 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Top-half finish
Pundits’ prediction: 9th of 20
Notes: Antiguoko have grown accustomed to being a comfortably mid-table if not top-half side, and manager Ikatz Ansotegi has overseen a successful pre-season that has everyone in the city talking. They’ve managed to hang onto to their stars, namely last season’s Young Player Award winner Olentzaro Karazatorre, playmaker Edur Ustarroz and centre-back Eyande Osamiz, while at the same time acquiring a new goalkeeper in Ubelteso Erra and new wingers in the shape of the Nepharan Petrarch Karaiskakis, from Creed United, and the Hinodejin Thierry Cailleux.

Seasons in the First Division: 10 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Top-half finish
Pundits’ prediction: 10th of 20
Notes: Arkamo have had a quiet transfer window. Selling Aurre Laurnagaray to Athletic Club Olarria is a blow, but as a temporary replacement they’ve got the young Siovanijan Lino Kaberle on loan from Sporting Iturributa. Zarles Berhongaray, Piarres Santurtun, Xalbador Achabalastra and Berasko Korradi are all expected to be essential in manager Galeano’s plans for the season, as Arkamo once again attempt to rise above the mid-table peloton. Their home ground, The Bells, is set to be expanded by more than 15 thousand seats; due to the construction efforts, for a certain stretch of the season fans will have to travel more than 150km to see the team play at Izarloka FC’s Twilight Field in Letzama.

The Astograthian Football League
Season 683 Preview - Part 2

ImageImage
Blue Mountain Range, est. 518
Ground: Ximun Orieta Sporting Ground (34,000), Echegoyan Image
Colours: All sky blue
Major rivals: Echegoyan FC (The Echegoyan Derby), Miners FC (local)
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: Weaver, Smith & Wrangler (Taeshani apparel)
Reputation: Ultra-defensive, ultra-physical. Ugly tackles, ugly football. Extremely consistent. Reviled by most but wildly popular in Taeshan.
Manager: Image Zuriko Eliz, 4th season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Otsoa Sanyorenti, Image LB - Markel Kortayarena, Image CB - Anartz Ugeruaga, Image CB - Yurdan Yaurreche, Image CB - Urti Galindres ©, Image RB - Eder Eskariz, Image DM - Keop Osa, Image DM - Xabier Appathie, Image LM - Urgutz Barnachea, Image RM - Ubendu Sakierain, Image CF - Oihan Iraeta
Bench: GK - Leheren Burunzangaray, GK - Atze Labadie, LB - Lerchun Sarre, CB - Loiola Echepare, CB - Garoa Iasuralde, CB - Anaia Bizkaino, RB - Chachu Eskutari, DM - Goiz Gamio, DM - Goizeder Abadia, LM - Gorka Urtaran, CM - Koldo Repide, RM - Harri Larrabide, AM - Mayorga Muniakas, CF - Diagur Echebes, Image CF - Jacky Abatantuono (JUE)
Estimated squad value: Đ15.6 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★ / Training facilities ★★★★ / Youth system ★★★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 35 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Top-half finish
Pundits’ prediction: 11th of 20
Notes: Blue Mountain Range have, as usual, done a lot of shifting around players, what with retirements, young prospects, academy promotions, and bench fodder, but did make one notable signing in the form of left winger Urgutz Barnachea, from Antiguoko FC. BMR play a 5-2-2-1 that relies on the backline they’re renowned for, strangling the midfield, and booting the ball up for striker Oihan Iraeta to score on the break. If they can do that reliably enough, they may find themselves comfortably in the top half of the table – and if they can’t, as is often the case, they might find themselves a relegation scare or two.

Basabe Old Boys, est. 516
Ground: New Beltzura Stadium (46,000), Basabe Image
Colours: Red shirt, white shorts, red socks
Major rivals: Basabe Youth (local), Athletic Club Basabe (local), Oyardo FC (regional), Dockyard Oaks (local)
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: KAT (steel)
Reputation: From a massive city with very fractured support. An alright team, but many suspect they could do a lot better.
Manager: Image Ixidor Bernales, 4th season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Oinatz Lissarrage, Image LB - Inge Beriain, Image CB - Benat Yabar, Image CB - Itziar Zalarrayan ©, Image RB - Nikola Gainkerain, Image DM - Diegoche Yauregizar, Image DM - Luki Aldalur, Image LM - Anchoka Oyhantkabal, Image RM - Aztore Goyos, Image AM - Gunutz Orubio, Image CF - Petrigai Errezarret
Bench: GK - Hanni Uribarri, GK - Loren Salazar, LB - Deunoro Hala, CB - Ichaso Medinabeitia, CB - Barea Bolea, CB - Pierres Legaza, RB - Gorbea Gogenola, DM - Hotz Garza, DM - Eder Peleretegi, LM - Diegoche Ulbina, RM - Lizar Tafaya, AM - Matin Muruzeta, AM - Garchot Dirassar, CF - Yake Garracho, CF - Gogo Soraire
Estimated squad value: Đ15.3 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★★★ / Training facilities ★★★ / Youth system ★★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 10 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Mid-table finish
Pundits’ prediction: 12th of 20
Notes: Old Boys made some interesting moves during the pre-season, losing defensive midfielder to Urbizania Wanderers but snapping up Sporting Iturributa’s backup goalkeeper Oinatz Lissarrage and talented 19 year-old Diegoche Yauregizar from Royal Rumiatzi. Manager Ixidor Bernales is confident he can guide this squad to another mid-table finish while they continue to find their feet in the First Division, having only just last season returned from relegation.

Gortz United, est. 561
Ground: Itsasargiberria Stadium (32,080), Gortz Image – undergoing major renovation. Will play part of the season at The Deathbowl, Ituraitz (32,460).
Colours: All lavender
Major rivals: Gortz Academy (local)
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: Henrik (Polarian finance)
Reputation: Resourceful, scrappy, fight to the end. Wring the last few years out of old players.
Manager: Image Piarres Erke, 2nd season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Yuango Hernera, Image LB - Osoitz Haukiartze, Image CB - Anselmo Sinagra (JUE), Image CB - Artizar Moriega, Image RB - Balasi Lakar ©, Image DM - Abarrotz Sakona, Image CM - Errapel Insunza, Image CM - Mendebal Yugo, Image LM - Laurin Aricheta, Image RM - Gasteiz Legaza, Image CF - Anter Genaga
Bench: GK - Charan Iroz, GK - Orzaize Chaneke, LB - Gartzen Boneta, CB - Yasone Zubiate, CB - Endira Ibarburu, RB - Odon Echauren, DM - Mayu Karreras, CM - Aioro Arangena, CM - Bernat Martierena, CM - Udalaitz Chotro, LM - Iztal Bidigaray, RM - Arixo Usay, AM - Mederi Marien, CF - Ibon Herrea, CF - Urbasa Aldanondo
Estimated squad value: Đ14.1 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★ / Training facilities ★★★ / Youth system ★★
Seasons in the First Division: 20 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Mid-table finish
Pundits’ prediction: 13th of 20
Notes: Manager Piarres Erke did an excellent job rescuing Gortz from relegation, ending up in 15th place, and although maintaining the blistering form they showed at the end of last season is a big ask, they can certainly aim for somewhere in the mid-table. Their most notable move this pre-season was the departure of centre-back Iraunkor Garasa to Royal Ibarbe, which they answered by recruiting the 35 year-old Artizar Moriega on a free. Moriega, who’s won silverware with both Sporting Iturributa and Iturributa United, is expected to be a key player for Gortz alongside their already established figures Gasteiz Legaza, Abarrotz Sakona and young striker Anter Genaga. Their home ground, Itsasargiberria, is undergoing significant expansion, so for a stretch of the season home fans will have to travel to Ximun Orieta’s stadium in Ituraitz, The Deathbowl.

ImageImage
Astograth University, est. 553
Ground: Arritzola (36,350), Rumiatzi Image
Colours: White and sky blue halves, sky blue shorts, white socks
Major rivals: Army United, South Factory, Royal Rumiatzi, Athletic Club Rumiatzi (all local)
Major honours: Image 2 First Division titles, Image 3 Royal Cups, Image Aéropag Football Invitational 23
Main sponsor: Koedalad (NGO)
Reputation: Club of the middle class. Once a top team, now barely mid-table. Desperate to regain status.
Manager: Image Erramu Anchorena, 3rd season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Urtsua Ulibarria ©, Image LB - Churio Berrozpe, Image CB - Teyo Otormin, Image CB - Obeko Zabalegi, Image RB - Aketza Orza, Image DM - Ibon Larrabure, Image DM - Dabi Teyagorry, Image LM - Urre Unamunzaga, Image RM - Lukasz Adalmek (ESH), Image AM - Unax Alchourron, Image CF - Mazuste Igerabide
Bench: GK - Imanol Bidaorria, GK - Eleazar Leniz, LB - Urtsin Belderrain, CB - Nuxila Uhartemendia, CB - Hotz Balerdi, CB - Aberri Binion, RB - Hibai Alkorta, DM - Yaunzuria Alkibararechuluaga, DM - Bilbo Errainz, CM - Cheru Iraizoz, LM - Inautzi Soyo, RM - Ospin Urbikain, AM - Yake Bibankos, CF - Raitir Inunkiaga, CF - Urtsua Larre
Estimated squad value: Đ16 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★★ / Training facilities ★★★★ / Youth system ★★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 32 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Mid-table finish
Pundits’ prediction: 14th of 20
Notes: The AU are desperate to return to former glory, but keep struggling in the bottom half of the table. Manager Erramu Anchorena has been handed an ultimatum that nothing less than 10th place is acceptable, even though they last achieved that in ‘76. They’ve at least made some good transfers, grabbing Eshani winger Lukasz Adalmek from Echegoyan, young centre-back Hotz Balerdi from Gortz United, and their marquee signing: Unax Alchourron from Iturributa United, still with some years left in him. Whether this will be enough to make the team competitive against the likes of Antiguoko, Ibarbe and Arkamo is dubious, but you can never count out University.

ImageImage
Ituraitz Victory, est. 496
Ground: Ituraitz Sporting Ground (63,000), Ituraitz Image
Colours: Blue shirt, white shorts, blue socks
Major rivals: Ituraitz FC (The Ituraitz Derby), Ximun Orieta FC (local)
Major honours: Image 1 Royal Cup
Main sponsor: Petromok (oil & gas)
Reputation: Venerable. Respected but pitied. Massively popular in their city, no matter the lack of success.
Manager: Image Soin Zumaeta, 2nd season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Larendi Erroz, Image LB - Silban Elichagaray, Image CB - Hanni Anchea, Image CB - Luken Almirantearena, Image RB - Kaxen Arabehere, Image DM - Aresti Echabarri, Image DM - Aitzol Nanklares, Image LM - Gartzi Abaroa ©, Image RM - Haitz Uriz, Image AM - Omar Mahir (ESH), Image CF - Ler Eleskagaray
Bench: GK - Gunutz Sagarribay, GK - Mendebal Beheran, LB - Markel Larraz, CB - Manu Amosain, CB - Gartzen Beraun, CB - Azubeli Anzoategi, RB - Ageio Osinde, DM - Umea Lukastegi, DM - Gasteiz Mendiberri, LM - Galoer Unzain, CM - Elorri Yurramendi, RM - Totakoxe Ansolidoa, AM - Sugoi Mendia, CF - Iban Anchordoki, CF - Mikelatz Idaberry
Estimated squad value: Đ14 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★★ / Training facilities ★★★ / Youth system ★★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 28 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Mid-table finish
Pundits’ prediction: 15th of 20
Notes: Ituraitz Victory have spent many years now struggling to break into the mid-table, all the while remaining solidly bottom half and with many a relegation battle. Their squad is quite old, and there are doubts as to how much more 34-year-old defender Hanni Anchea, their standout player, can go. And despite this issue, Victory’s only signing for this season was 31-year-old defensive midfielder Aresti Echabarri, cut from Urbizania Wanderers. It looks like Victory are in for another tough season, and should be satisfied to stave off relegation one more time.

ImageImage
Urbitzo FC, est. 526
Ground: Champion Lane (22,180), Urbitzo Image
Colours: Blue with white sash, blue shorts, white socks
Major rivals: Oyardo FC (local)
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: Okinaga (watercraft and motorcycles)
Reputation: Jealous of rival Oyardo's prior success, anxious for some of their own. Looked down upon.
Manager: Image Yeremi Belaustigetigoitia, 2nd season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Urtzi Dolagaray, Image LB - Haitz Erriest, Image CB - Gilen Kaparra, Image CB - Xarles Echebarrena ©, Image RB - Sugoi Iniurrigarro, Image DM - Polentzi Haitsagerre, Image CM - Oskarbi Iturriarte, Image LM - Berdaitz Olhagaray, Image RM - Mogel Darrikarrere, Image AM - Polentzi Bizagirre, Image CF - Edorta Aniasko
Bench: GK - Bilbo Bolibar, GK - Erruki Garramendi, LB - Gauargi Almirantearena, CB - Mayorga Amorrosta, CB - Kepa Egigorry, CB - Hurko Gobeo, RB - Yanpier Oyakarizketa, DM - Anakoz Sagasti, DM - Ruisko Zarazua, CM - Marchel Echasenage, LM - Agosti Suaso, RM - Bordat Moroy, AM - Argoitz Sakierain, CF - Xabat Anzoleaga, CF - Seber Akordagoitia
Estimated squad value: Đ14 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★ / Training facilities ★★ / Youth system ★★
Seasons in the First Division: 1 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Avoid relegation
Pundits’ prediction: 16th of 20
Notes: Urbitzo FC make their triumphant début in the First Division as champions of the second tier, and predictions are that they’ll struggle but ultimately survive their first season. Their squad and manager Yeremi Belaustigetigoitia are unproven at the highest level, with one exception: right winger Mogel Darrikarrere, formerly of Ituraitz FC, Athletic Olarria and local rivals Oyardo FC. If they can keep up the form that saw them win the Second Division by 5 points over Royal Association, they should do alright.

ImageImage
Gesterlake FC, est. 507
Ground: Castle Hill (38,630), Gesterlake Image – undergoing major renovation. Will play part of the season at Guduzelaya, Gesterlake (15,336).
Colours: Yellow shirt, dark blue shorts, yellow socks
Major rivals: Royal Arexa (The Twin Cities Derby), Berlasko FC (The Gesterlake Derby), Antiguoko FC (historic)
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: Astek (electronics)
Reputation: Top flight mainstay, but their best years are behind them. Strong support. Inoffensive, popular with advertisers.
Manager: Image Baladi Berhongaray, 2nd season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Manu Balza, Image LB - Haitz Araistegi, Image CB - Iparragirre Yabar, Image CB - Eztebe Goyechea, Image RB - Frederik Goikoechea ©, Image LM - Yanpier Aroix, Image CM - Yeremi Latzabe, Image RM - Charan Karrikaburu, Image AM - Yuli Nikoularena, Image CF - Eguntsenti Belazkez, Image CF - Aner Bermeyiyo
Bench: GK - Ezkerra Bibankotz, GK - Yeremi Subasnabar, LB - Pierres Kenitagoya, CB - Birila Taiyade, CB - Sugoi Urenia, CB - Enetz Paternain, RB - Ubarna Urrutigoity, DM - Michel Sangitu, LM - Ion Mugeya, CM - Franchizko Irrazabal, RM - Iraunkor Kotabarren, AM - Ayande Pagola, CF - Matai Agerregaray, CF - Petrigai Orneta, CF - Sabin Laza
Estimated squad value: Đ13.8 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★★ / Training facilities ★★★ / Youth system ★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 24 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Avoid relegation
Pundits’ prediction: 17th of 20
Notes: Gesterlake find themselves in quite a pickle, unable to keep up as mid-table rivals Antiguoko, Arkamo, Ibarbe and others got ahead while they made a series of poor decisions. Now they’re stuck with a sub-par squad, little spending money, and a capable manager with his hands tied. Their players are an eclectic mix of very young, close to retirement, and out-of-shape twenty year-olds. They’ll be relying on Haitz Araistegi and the ancient Eguntsenti Belazkez to see them out of this mess, clinging onto the hope that forward Aner Bermeyiyo, who failed to score a single goal last season, will find his form. Amid all of this they’re also undergoing expansion of their stadium, and will have to play some matches at Guduzelaya, home of rivals Berlasko FC.

ImageImage
Royal Association, est. 616
Ground: Unity Stadium (33,500), Iturributa Image
Colours: Black and white stripes, black shorts and socks
Major rivals: Iturributa United, Sporting Iturributa, Iturributa Racing Club (all local-political)
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: Royal Bank (finance)
Reputation: Feel chronically cheated and maligned by men and fate. Politically controversial, despised by the rest of Iturributa.
Manager: Image Aketza Lacha, 5th season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Arano Ilaria, Image LB - Yulen Iginiez ©, Image CB - Elatzar Migelena, Image CB - Aurre Lete, Image RB - Lizar Sansinena, Image DM - Osoitz Bidart, Image DM - Atseden Mikelarena, Image LM - Dei Michauz, Image RM - Aingeru Sayaz, Image AM - Gau Urunaga, Image CF - Olentzaro Ibarra
Bench: GK - Machin Madariaga, GK - Xarles Yaben, LB - Bladi Mendegia, CB - Isusko Kearraz, CB - Elorri Dondiz, CB - Nuxila Estrada, RB - Echepare Iribekampos, DM - Isidor Ytuarte, DM - Lauaxeta Ainkiart, LM - Min Oyenola, CM - Xuban Gochikoa, RM - Otsando Larzondo, AM - Hats Mendibe, CF - Distiratsu Laurnagaray, CF - Arano Sourroiye
Estimated squad value: Đ12.4 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★ / Training facilities ★★★ / Youth system ★★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 20 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Avoid relegation
Pundits’ prediction: 18th of 20
Notes: After 3 seasons in the Second Division, Royal Association have come back after finishing as runners-up of the second tier – and are likely to immediately face relegation once again. They’ve got some exciting young starters in Arano Ilaria, Gau Urunaga and Aingeru Sayaz, but it seems altogether insufficient to remain in the top flight unless manager Aketza Lacha, who hasn’t had great success in the First Division, hides an ace up his sleeve.

ImageImage
Bakartirla Buccaneers, est. 589
Ground: Sovereignty Stadium (14,110), Kala Image
Colours: Black and red stripes, black shorts, white socks
Major rivals: None
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: Visit Kala (tourism)
Reputation: Plucky, passionate, surprising. Small club from a small island. Low expectations, low pressure, happy to be here.
Manager: Image Ilazki Altzibararechuluaga, 7th season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Albi Gorostar, Image LB - Hitz Suardiaz, Image CB - Gorosti Biskert, Image CB - Otsando Erramundeguy, Image RB - Beltza Aniz, Image DM - Beat Achekonanea, Image CM - Esmail Wilhelm (ESH), Image LM - Ereinkor Ybarrola, Image RM - Larendi Elizate, Image AM - Yosu Sanchotena ©, Image CF - Yatsu Ustarroz
Bench: GK - Yasone Oyhenart, GK - Anakoz Amezkita, LB - Zilar Sarries, CB - Asier Iribekampos, CB - Errolan Gankiandia, CB - Erramun Meonio, RB - Elatzar Kobeaga, DM - Elatzar Gassiebayle, DM - Todor Beloki, CM - Todor Echandi, LM - Loramendi Errakalde, RM - Umea Goyanes, AM - Goi Urtea, CF - Distiratsu Maiz, CF - Zadornin Elizabe
Estimated squad value: Đ14.2 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★ / Training facilities ★★ / Youth system ★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 3 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Avoid relegation
Pundits’ prediction: 19th of 20
Notes: The Buccaneers are routinely predicted to finish at or near the bottom of the table and, though their first stint in the top flight did last only one season, they managed to survive last season with a solid 15th-place finish. They seem entirely unperturbed by predictions of doom and gloom and, if anything, continue to praise Ilazki Altzibararechuluaga as a genius manager for taking this tiny island club to the First Division. Whatever their fate, they do still have some solid players, most notably winger Ereinkor Ybarrola, formerly of Sporting Iturributa, Athletic Olarria and Urbizania Wanderers.

ImageImage
Miners FC, est. 515
Ground: The Lieutenant (14,700), Echegoyan Image
Colours: Red with black sash, black shorts, red socks
Major rivals: Echegoyan FC, Blue Mountain Range (all local)
Major honours: None
Main sponsor: Ondraka (hardware)
Reputation: The odd-men-out of Echegoyan, forever yo-yoing between divisions. Small club, very close to their loyal supporters.
Manager: Image Argider Gorriaran, 2nd season in charge
Starting Lineup: Image GK - Baladi Ordoki, Image LB - Agosti Irachet ©, Image CB - Eusko Aldabe, Image CB - Argider Obieta, Image RB - Haitz Elosu, Image DM - Gaitzka Ituzarriaga, Image DM - Alatz Larraza, Image LM - Antso Biteri, Image CM - Gaxan Irusta, Image RM - Gerazan Urrako, Image CF - Anchoka Alagibe
Bench: GK - Giro Insausti, GK - Tzeme Urukelgi, LB - Gilen Beola, CB - Loiola Orieta, CB - Yoseba Andeza, CB - Azibar Marrokin, RB - Ganix Bigorra, DM - Poz Mendiguchia, DM - Perucho Urka, DM - Gilamu Mazondo, LM - Yon Echaurren, RM - Bardol Arabaolaza, AM - Pello Salduberes, CF - Axular Mendiberry, CF - Elorri Karrika
Estimated squad value: Đ12.8 M
Infrastructure: Ground ★★★ / Training facilities ★★ / Youth system ★★★
Seasons in the First Division: 7 of 38
Fans’ expectation: Avoid relegation
Pundits’ prediction: 20th of 20
Notes: Miners are something of a ‘meme club’ in the Astograthian sphere, characterisation which they obviously resent given their significant credentials in Echegoyani football. On the other hand, they’ve reached the First Division four times only to be immediately relegated, and the fifth time they lasted just two. Now on their sixth stint in the top flight, Miners have made some interesting signings: Haitz Elosu from Bakartirla, Gerazan Urrako from Astograth University and Gaitzka Ituzarriaga from Sporting Iturributa. Conventional wisdom, however, doesn’t see them anywhere but in the relegation spots.

The Parade Grounds, Oberour Ar Moro's oldest and most distinguished stadium, serves as the home ground for Premier Division champions Patrons, as well as the Oberour Ar Moro national team. Additionally, the stadium is now the permanent home of the semi-finals and finals of the Jupillite Minister's Cup. Every footballer in Oberour Ar Moro wants to play at this stadium in the heart of the capital, and our bid team believes a IUCC final at the Parade Grounds will be memorable for the student-athletes and fans that would attend.

Top Scorers:
Ismail Burhan (Manat FK) - 25
Bayram Tansu (Elektriklestirmespor) - 23
Omer Tameroglu (DBFT) - 22
Kartal Unal (Demirspor) - 17
Akyon Gurses (Almat JK) - 15

Player of the Season: Masaki Onishi - He's been the unsung hero of this Super League winning Elektriklestirmespor side, his goal threat has often fallen under the radar, but with 8 goals as a right winger alongside an astonishing 19 assists, he's made Bayram Tansu into a top class Super League striker and has put opposing defences on the backfoot whenever he's had the ball. The Hinodejin right winger has a big future in Timuria if they want it, though most people would understand if they decided that Timuria had become too small a pond for the big fish.

Super League Super XI:
GK: Murat Yigithan (Uryanspor)
DL: Zeynel Abidin Birkan (Hisar FK)
DC: Berker Balkan (Uryanspor)
DC: Charade Tipton (Uryanspor)
DR: Machalat Sauber (Bakir FK)
LW: Akira Kagekatsu (Manat FK)
MC: Ertan Renda (Elektriklestirmespor)
MC: Sabah Tanriseven (DBFT)
RW: Masaki Onishi (Elektriklestirmespor)
ST: Ismail Burhan (Manat FK)
ST: Bayram Tansu (Elektriklestirmespor)

After a long, tough and tight season at the top it should be no shock that 10 of the Super XI come from the top five sides in the Super League. Goalkeeper Murat Yigithan has only conceded 12 goals all season long in 34 appearences an astonishing feat, but he didn't do it alone. He was supported by the best centre back pairing in the league with Berker Balkan providing excellent play out of the back four with Charade Tipton providing defensive fortitude that was unrivaled this season. Left back has been filled by the exceptional young international Zeynel Abidin Birkan, of Hisar FK fame, who has been the best player on his sides fantastic defence. Right back has been filled by a surprising player with Machalat Sauber impressing everyone with their fantastic play at Bakir FK fueling speculation that they may be looking for bigger and better things.

The midfield contains two Hinodejin players who have made themselves into forces to be reckoned with, with Akira Kagekatsu being part of Manat's astonishing 100 goal campaign, laying on the service for the top scorer, while Masaki Onishi has earned Player of the Season acolades for their almost understated excellence throughout the year, with almost no subpar performances from the right winger. The centre of midfield is occupied by the finally triumphan Ertan Renda who has rejected an attempt to shift him abroad in order to try to win with his beloved Elektriklestirmespor a feat he has now accomplished. While Sabah Tanriseven has found himself in the national team alongside Ertan and has showed over the course of the season why he has been trusted with such a position with a series of gritty and capable performances that landed him the spot alongside his teammate. Both could be on the move abroad, but they'll leave heroes at their respective clubs.

The strike force is led by the deadly Ismail Burhan who has already requested a transfer abroad as he feels he's achieved all he can at the club before his career enters its twilight. Meanwhile Bayram Tansu who scored an astonishing 8 goals in 7 matches in the final run in which catapulted his side to the title occupies the second striker position after his red hot streak put him a mere two goals behind Ismail for the top scorer accolades a title that will be presumed to be his if Ismail makes a move abroad.

Manager of the Year: Yahsiboga Levni (Elektriklestirmespor) - Yahsiboga Levni has led his side to their first ever Super League title all while putting together arguably the best value squad in the Super League, with his shrewd repositioning of his most talented player and his acquisitions almost all paying dividends this season. He will have a tough time trying to repeat the feat next season, but he has put himself on the map with this campaign and with his contract ending next season may be on the move elsewhere sooner rather than later.
Honourable Mentions: Ildemir Akkoz (Tashkentspor), Hami Toker (DBFT), Ornek Okur (Bakir FK)

Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom Federativna Republika Zeta Reka i Hügeltaldom
Season 75 Dossier, Issue 3

As the federation shifts to international play, the domestic league is as active as ever. Fifteen games separate the men from the less skilled men in Division 1 of the Federal Football League. In addition to the league, The Republic's Cup returns to action with some shocking results. Just before the end of the road, let's look into the league.

Day 16
Kven FK 3-1 Porto Nowi OR
Ogroven Vanguardi FK 1-2 Spasavanje-Policija FK
Aleiusia Riverside 0-1 Platinastigrade
FKP Ottowić County 0-0 FK Banfigrade
VZRH Matov-Uri 2-2 AK Stanimir
DD Porto Nowi 6-0 Hüelhunde FK (two Hüelhunde own goals)
AFK Imperialismus 3-0 Ruzhan Stassengrade
Beestagrade 0-1 Aleiusia Capital

A sub filled side in Ogroven hosted Spasavanje-Policija ans lost in a shocking game. Policija score twice in the first half, and though Albertow Schnabel came on to score in the eighty sixth minute, no more goals came by the final whistle. Hans Liebeck was the player of the game for making two assists. Capital gave up three goals against Kven, but have been on fire on the D outside of that game. Again the league leaders kept a clean sheet when they visited Beestagrade. Porto Nowi kept themselves in contention for the title by smashing Hüelhunde. Porto Nowi scored three goals per half.

Day 17
Beestagrade 3-5 Kven FK
Aleiusia Capital 3-0 AFK Imperialismus
Ruzhan Stassengrade 0-0 DD Porto Nowi
Hüelhunde FK 0-2 VZRH Matov-Uri
AK Stanimir 4-4 FKP Ottowić County
FK Banfigrade 1-0 Aleiusia Riverside
Platinastigrade 1-3 Ogroven Vanguardi FK
Spasavanje-Policija FK 1-2 Porto Nowi OR

Capital blew back a top rated club facing depth issues. The win keeps Capital attack above two and half goals per game. Kven won on the road and now top the charts in away goals. Kven is making headlines by climbing up the points ladder. They are thirteen points behind the title with as many games left. Porto Nowi players were rested this week and seven backups started against Ruzhan Stassengrade. The side was considered too week by the media, and coach Draganić has been lambasted. Bafnigrade won on the eighty third minute. The match meant that Riverside went from a few goals outside of the top four to four points behind.

Day 18
Kven FK 1-0 Spasavanje-Policija FK
Porto Nowi OR 2-1 Platinastigrade (Platinastigrade own goal)
Ogroven Vanguardi FK 1-0 FK Banfigrade
Aleiusia Riverside 1-0 AK Stanimir
FKP Ottowić County 3-4 Hüelhunde FK
VZRH Matov-Uri 0-1 Ruzhan Stassengrade
DD Porto Nowi 3-5 Aleiusia Capital
AFK Imperialismus 3-3 Beestagrade

Title contenders Capital and DD Porto Nowi clashed in a rematch from earlier in the season. This time the match was an hour of fire and fury with a half hour on embers burning. The last lead change came at the sixty first minute when Capital pulled away. They score again in stoppage time to jump ahead of the pack. Ranko Radić of Riverside scored his first penalty of the season on match eighteen against AK Stanimir. Hüelhunde turned a 3-1 deficit into a 3-4 away win against Ottowić thanks to two strong counter attacks.

Day 19
AFK Imperialismus 0-3 Kven FK
Beestagrade 0-2 DD Porto Nowi
Aleiusia Capital 1-1 VZRH Matov-Uri
Ruzhan Stassengrade 3-1 FKP Ottowić County
Hüelhunde FK 1-0 Aleiusia Riverside
AK Stanimir 2-1 Ogroven Vanguardi FK
FK Banfigrade 1-1 Porto Nowi OR (Banfigrade own goal)
Platinastigrade 2-0 Spasavanje-Policija FK

Capital's nine point lead has shrunk to seven after the club gave up an early goal against VZRH Matov-Uri. Porto Nowi kept a good pace to win by two goals against basement dwellers Beestagrade. Kven have a perfect record in the second half of the season. They have only lost once since the opening five matches. Locker room confidence for AK Stanimir is mixed after a comeback win against Vanguardi after a disputed substitution.

Day 20
Kven FK 1-0 Platinastigrade
Spasavanje-Policija FK 3-3 FK Banfigrade
Porto Nowi OR 4-0 AK Stanimir
Ogroven Vanguardi FK 0-0 Hüelhunde FK
Aleiusia Riverside 1-0 Ruzhan Stassengrade
FKP Ottowić County 1-1 Aleiusia Capital
VZRH Matov-Uri 0-1 Beestagrade
DD Porto Nowi 3-0 AFK Imperialismus

Wlad Heink of AK Stanimir is on temporary leave. The head coach will be off after contracting both the flu and suffering from a food allergy after his club's meeting with Porto Nowi OR. In a match between two top four sides, Kven bunkered down for a win. The only goal came at the thirty ninth minute when captain Želmir Kolarowić punted in a long shot. Capital drew against a defensive unit that has impressed for two years. That unit from Ottowić are long shots for the Challenger's Cup, but are only four wins behind. Seven Teams are closer, from top flit newbies Riverside and Imperialismus, to cup runner ups Banfigrade. Of those teams Only Riverside won this week, scoring a single goal against Ruzan Stassengrade.

In adition, the title race is heating up. Two teams are three games away from ending Capital's lead. Combined with the cup it's hard to say who will make it far. For other teams IFCF money will come if they can battle past Platinastigrade.

At the top are attacking teams. Capital and Porto Nowi average two and a half goals per game or more. Kven and Imperialismus are in or near the IFCF threshold, and have over two goals per game. Teams who aren't as attacking line into two groups. One group which can defend, and one which has face many trials off the ball. Vanguardi's top rated defense breaks down away as they have given up fourteen goals. Banfigrade's defense has had the same problems when visiting rival teams. AK Stanimir, Hüelhunde and Beestagrade are only better than Spasavanje-Policija FK when defending.

Porto Nowi suffered their second home defeat of the season, and again it was against a top four side. Kven took home three points after a screamer of a shot from Wlado Iwanić. Iwanić, a former Porto Nowi player, gave a respectful wave to his favorite section of Porto Nowi's stands. Capital beat Riverside after staving off a late comeback. Platinastigrade were able to save a point in the 88th minute thanks to a header by Sander Oruiwić.

Stanimir head coach Wlad Heink returned from his leave to watch his team beat Spasavanje-Policija. A tight game took place between Beestagrade and Ottowić County. The closeness of the game came from what reporter Wladmir Aker described as "a battle to see who couldn't get three points." Darren Hunt botched two equalizers for Ottowić while a final penalty failed for Beestagrade.

Korvan Cannons made it to the semi finals last season, and scored once on the road against the higher ranked Automotive Klub. The most one sided game saw Preo Team, bankrolled by a young corporate investor, defeat a works club from the Glavni Oblast. It took one hundred eighteen minutes for PRD Ofau to belt one past Pfligergrade. Ogroven Athletik lost on penalties in the Ogroven tournament, however one of the tournament champions was ruled inelligable due to lacking a home venue. Atheltik took advantage of being let into the dance by winning huge against a fifth level team.

Banfigrade used all three of their strikers against Kven, but luck was not on their side as they lost by two goals. Policija pulled away from Hüelhunde but looked overworked in the second half. A fifth goals sealed a good margin of victory for the lower ranked side.

Vanguardi put on another tense showdown and drew with no goals for the third match in a row. Porto Nowi were up away, but lost their lead by half time. Rybki came off from the bench and scored a double thanks to a stunning corner goal. Pundits thanked high winds for the goal, and Rybki thanks his good luck in VZRH's back yard.

Twenty teams who failed to enter either Division 1 or Division 2 of the federal league entered into the Republic's Cup. FK Stassengrade will be known to those who followed last season, and a few Rekan football experts know the names Proud Tigers and DD Aleiusia.

"Kid called him, 'mud like the city'" a team mate said to the local press. Proud Tigers took a late lead against Bergsteiger to move into round three thanks to a retaken penalty. DD Porto Nowi's secondary team continues to be the only team of it's type in the tournament. It took ten shots for AK Raspon to win a shootout against W.5 Station, but they will advance.

Ottowić County's winless streak is taken out before it hits double digits. DD Porto Nowi paid dearly, but won't suffer much in the title race as the top four teams, Capital, DD Porto Nowi, Kven and Platinastigrade, collected a sum total of two points. Riverside's loss to Imperialismus puts Riverside a point behind Platinastigrade, and puts Imperialismus within a win of IFCF play. "I think it's great for our sport," Imperialismus head coach Mato Muller said after the game. "It's crazy to see two teams from Division 2 move into the top half of the table, three when you count Porto Nowi OR."

Vanguardi won by a single goal against Beestagrade and finally scored. Josip Jorowić assisted backup left striker Aleksander Bjelica, who scouts are still high on. In other odd news Stanimir head coach Wlad Heink announced suddenly that this would be his final season with Stanimir. The former two time league champion has had a slow decline over the last two seasons, and there may need to a be a pragmatic grounding to Stanimir's play.

As the cup continued, clubs from the second division entered the fray. The sixteen new teams looked to outfox themselves, lest they be taken out to pasture. Some good clubs had to battle it out against each other. The sixteen teams who won advanced to round four against the Federal Football League's top brass.

Capital's sudden drop in form prevents them from running away with the title. Kven finally moved past Porto Nowi in a long grind, and are contenders for a come from behind championship. Last season Porto Nowi were in that position, but had done too poorly in the first half of the season to win the title. Of the top three teams, only DD Porto Nowi could still finish below fourth. In the battle for fourth, The window of opportunity for teams below Vanguardi are daunting. Any team outside of the top seven should look for a cup title to sweeten a sour season.

Division 1, the top flight of the country, and the final batch of teams who will play in the Republic's cup. Some were lucky to avoid each other in round one, but others will have take another down if they are to win a spot in the IFCF Cup Winners' Cup.

The second division teams were shut out in the quarter finals by two clubs that have gotten attention in the tournament already. Ottowić County used backups on their attack, and the lack of experience caused them to be called offside five times. DD Porto Nowi won away from home and Striped Kits seemed to lie down and take it. Wiktor Nebojsa Dassow scored twice in the first half, and defender Kohen Strauss came off the bench to score from a corner.

Aleiusia Capital beat their third straight first division opponent in their quest for the double. Each contest had been a shut out, and Capital defence is getting a lot of buzz in the cup. "We hope it will translate back into the league" the club president said in an interview. In the final game, Beestagrade and Hüelhunde wowed the crowd. Three goals and two red cards were called in the first half. Beestagrade scored off two crosses and advanced to the semi finals with a lot of swagger. Bogdan Rawić scored twice in the first half, and Waldmir Prtajin scored late in the game. DD Porto Nowi got off to a single goal lead after the first half, and after subbing in some fresh legs they scored two more times to clinch their fourth finals appearance. They've won two in a row, but they haven't faced a top quartile team in the finals. In the casual but fierce battle for fourth, Riverside pulled ahead of Platinastigrade, while Imperialismus' narrow pathway to the top was dashed by AK Stanimir. For Riverside to stay ahead, they will just need to win on the home soil of Spasavanje-Policija FK. Should they draw or lose that open's up the door for Platinastigrade to save a sour result when they host Ottowić County, who Platinastigrade beat away by a goal. All teams will have their full strength sides because the teams were kicked out of the cup.

After a huge string of poor results, Capital blasted past a defense minded Ruzhan Stassengrade by five goals, with Rawić scoring four goals. The game began to heat up in the second half, where Capital scored four goals. A hat trick for David Dix was a surprise for the longtime capital player. Kven and Porto Nowi kept up with humble victories against mid table sides. Porto Nowi's loss was touch and go, with their only goal coming in the eighty second minute.

Capital and Kven will face off, and a draw will clinch Capital the title. Should Kven win that opens the door for Porto Nowi to win the title on goal difference. Winning in that very way would be retribution for last season's upset title loss.

Porto Nowi have gotten less attention this year from pundits because of Capital's dramatic season. Capital is looking home stretch, they went over twenty games without a loss, but have missed the mark in the home stretch. They won matches against top teams however, and will need their "clutch skills" in the tiny tourist town of Kven.

Kven did well for a second season in a row, but it's been a huge climb to get here. A second title win from goal difference is most likely impossible for the scrappy luxury team. They will need to win in the end again, and unlike the other teams, they will have all players on hand because they are out of the cup.

Luka Lukić scored from the bench to keep Capital's championship run intact, but a stunning kick from Franziz Reus scored outside the box. Reus wasn't content with a single goal, and had to score the greatest double of his playing days. Reus bashed into the box and took the title winning pass from captain Želmir Kolarowić.
