The rejistanian domestic cup saw its share of strangeness again, but let's begin in the first round:

Itamil Itera's amateurs met Karela Veran and defeated them 4:2 in the first match. Only to lose 1:8 in the home game. H4SR team Xuruma Veran thrashed H3SR side Ikiri Itera with a 8:2 aggregate score, and rejistanian champion Itamil Itera fell against the H3SR side Jieru Junis in a penalty kick thriller. The H9SR side Xikila Sekhika eliminated H3SR side Tekavi Viki, Aetaila Seli almost stumbled against Kaheril Sekhika from the H3SR, the amateurs of Hetkali and Ltianhama met in a reenactment of H1SR matches (and with an aggregate win of Hetkali), Hilak Hetaki (H4SR) and nantically-qualified Duriki Itera (H5SR) celebrated 13 goals in 2 matches and with TAHAI! and Tari!, the teams with exclamation marks in their names played each other.

In short: the pleasant craziness of the first round or kanvali mje'het reigned surpreme.

The second qualifiers or kanvali xi'het also had its share of strangeness:

H3SR team Lieta Lines dispatched the H4SR participants Xuruma Veran with an aggregate score of 10:0, Desnike Sekhika had the rotten luck of the draw and fell to Hades, as did Jinhes to the TAHAI! and last year's winner Maharis Maru to Xkora, Sike Veran struggled against nantical-finalist Janajama Yri but squeaked through, as did Liia Lines against H6SR sideNa~ovi-Hama~e Sidekhir thanks to a questionable decision by the referee, Uri Makin sent H2SR side Kalixalka Junis home, and Ltianhama Kimi eliminated Karela Veran in a celebration of takil (which saw 16 goals in 2 matches) and Matix Omeh defeated KaMaRi Iknel in 2 close matches. The biggest upset was H4SR side Simali Sekhika falling to Xikila Sekhika, a team which is currently located in the H9SR.

The 8th finals (which is what the rejistanian name vinali'het johim translates to) featured less really odd matches since by not, most of the really odd teams were defeated, but it had great matches of nearly equally skilled teams. The thriller between Matix Omeh and Lades Lavamje which had to be decided via penalty kicks was one of these matches, as was the thriller between Inkatil Inxaril and the TAHAI! which eliminated the exclamation mark team. In regular time, but with just 1 goal in total, Sike sent Na~ovi out of the competition and Karela Lines fell to non-league side Dimira Divensi. Jatujatu Divensi, a team which plays in the H2SR fell to the last remaining H4SR team: Lasane Telek kali.

Jatujatu Divensi 2-3 Lasane Telek kali (H4SR) (2-3 agg)
Lasane Telek kali (H4SR) 1-1 Jatujatu Divensi (4-3 agg)

Matix Omeh 1-1 Hades Lavamje (1-1 agg)
Hades Lavamje 0-0 Matix Omeh (0-0 AET, 1-1 agg, 4-3 PKs)

TAHAI! 1-0 Inkatil Inxaril (1-0 agg)
Inkatil Inxaril 1-0 TAHAI! (1-0 AET, 1-1 agg, 2-1 PKs)

Sike Veran 1-0 Na~ovi Sekhika (1-0 agg)
Na~ovi Sekhika 0-0 Sike Veran (0-1 agg)

Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona) 1-0 Karela Lines (1-0 agg)
Karela Lines 0-1 Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona) (0-2 agg)

Liia Lines 0-1 Ltianhama Kimi (0-1 agg)
Ltianhama Kimi 2-0 Liia Lines (3-0 agg)

Kalisimu Salan 1-2 Riandu Redy (1-2 agg)
Riandu Redy 0-2 Kalisimu Salan (2-3 agg)

Jinhes Junis 2-0 Vanatesu Viki (H3SR) (2-0 agg)
Vanatesu Viki (H3SR) 0-2 Jinhes Junis (0-4 agg)

Quarterfinals or Vinali'het mjihim is at least a cromulent word. And a word that doomed Ltianhama Kimi as well as Jinhes Junis, Inkatil Inxaril and Sike Veran. While the loss of Ltianhama against Hades and the one of Jinhes against Kalisimu in extra time are things which can happen, losing against The Team from Telek City and losing twice 0:2 against a non-league side are things which shouldn't but did.

Jinhes Junis 0-0 Kalisimu Salan (0-0 agg)
Kalisimu Salan 0-0 Jinhes Junis (1-0 AET, 1-0 agg)

Inkatil Inxaril 0-1 Lasane Telek kali (H4SR) (0-1 agg)
Lasane Telek kali (H4SR) 1-0 Inkatil Inxaril (2-0 agg)

Sike Veran 0-2 Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona) (0-2 agg)
Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona) 2-0 Sike Veran (4-0 agg)

Hades Lavamje 3-1 Ltianhama Kimi (3-1 agg)
Ltianhama Kimi 1-2 Hades Lavamje (2-5 agg)

The semifinals or Vinali'het xihim saw, what now probably qualifies as an upset: Lasane Telek kali falling to Kalisimu Salan. And the non-league team Dimira Divensi went through as well.

Lasane Telek kali (H4SR) 0-1 Kalisimu Salan (0-1 agg)
Kalisimu Salan 1-0 Lasane Telek kali (H4SR) (2-0 agg)

Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona) 0-0 Hades Lavamje (0-0 agg)
Hades Lavamje 0-0 Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona) (0-1 AET, 0-1 agg)

In the Vinali'het or final Kalisimu Salan met the non-league team Dimira Divensi. And the magic ended after the first match. In the return match, Dimira conceded and lost. Kalisimu Salan win their first cup.

Kalisimu Salan 1-1 Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona)
(Kia Samerii 4th, Naivan Maru 59th)

Dimira Divensi (Heven Tanimesit, Nanti Korona) 0-2 Kalisimu Salan (1-3 agg)
(Kia Samerii 80th, Xasnu Sinkit 85th)

Here is the fourth season of the Cyanea Joint League! After Portsmouth Pirates made it to the group stage of the Globe Cup and Catherina FC made their way to the group stage of the TakilQuip Champions Cup, the Cyanea Joint League has finally gained its third TQCC spot! Let's see what happened:

Catherina FC takes yet another league title! First City is second and shockingly, Steckholl United join them near the top at 3rd, jumping from 14th! Tacoma Tigers are your Sarzonian team in the TQCC. However, Sarzonia dominates the middle, getting four of the six Globe Cup spots and sending two Delaclav teams into the relegation zone. Filbertiens and Three Cities are gone just a season after they both came. Those spots will be filled by teams from the Delaclava Premier League. Speaking of which...

Rejistanian ASR-league results

H1SR

And the winner is... Karela Lines! The Karelans might have had rotten luck in the cup, but in the league, they were better. However it was a close finish: Sikane Sekhika was tied on points and goal difference made the difference.

In the end, one very traditional club and one team of oddballs ended one the relegation spots: Aetaila Seli and Jinhes Lines. For Aetaila it was expected that their luck would not hold forever, but the relegation of Jinhes seems shocking for many Rejistanis. Another underperformer was the TAHAI! which only reached the 11th place.

Karelawatch: There were 19 scoreless draws in this season:
MD3: Uikaesaila Ynu 0-0 Si~ltati~rkidate Xkora
MD4: Sikane Sekhika 0-0 Karela Lines
MD4: Sike Veran 0-0 Jinhes Lines
MD6: Sike Veran 0-0 Inotu Yri
MD8: KaMaRi Iknel 0-0 Hades Lavamje
MD9: Itamil Itera 0-0 Sikane Sekhika
MD9: Uikaesaila Ynu 0-0 Inotu Yri
MD10: Sike Veran 0-0 Sikane Sekhika
MD10: Inotu Yri 0-0 Si~ltati~rkidate Xkora
MD12: Ltianhama Kimi 0-0 Sikane Sekhika
MD17: KaMaRi Iknel 0-0 Sikane Sekhika
MD18: Hades Lavamje 0-0 Ltianhama Kimi
MD22: Sike Veran 0-0 Aetaila Seli
MD23: Jinhes Junis 0-0 Sike Veran
MD23: Si~ltati~rkidate Xkora 0-0 Jinhes Lines
MD23: Inotu Yri 0-0 Ltianhama Kimi
MD24: TAHAI! 0-0 Jinhes Junis
MD26: Sike Veran 0-0 Itamil Itera
MD27: Jinhes Junis 0-0 Si~ltati~rkidate Xkora

People who like to see great defensive matches thus probably should go to Sike Veran matches, not Karela Lines ones ;)

The H2SR

The 2 H2SR leagues saw upsets as well, the first one is probably that one of the teams which was supposed to be relegated into it didn't. This was because the unification of 2 league systems put the team Ixkela Sekhika into a playoff against H3SR champion Kisilan-Hsidi Veran, which the Kisilanis lost (1:4 on aggregate). Thus Ixkela advanced instead.

A Division Summary: Western Hillmen have ended up champions for the second year in a row in the A Division this season. Wanderers FC and Thaplace City Tigers were supposed to have put up a fight, but neither looked like catching up to the in-form Hillmen. Great leadership by National Captain David Smith in his last year at the club made up for the loss of star Goalkeeper Vario Manfini to Wanderers, and booked them a chance of participating in the TakilQuip Champions Cup. Cape Renko had a pleasing result, placing second. Natural skill and team chemistry worked well over the course of the year, and booked a chance of making an appearance in the Globe Cup. Cape Renko managed to defeat both Wanderers and Hillmen sometime in the season. Cape Renko will be a big threat next year when David Smith leaves Hillmen. Wanderers placed third this year, a slightly disappointing result for the well funded club. They had a lot of poor losses, and many of their star players, such as Horhae Ronazo and Vario Manfini, were out of form for most of the year. Eastern Rangers surprised everybody by placing fourth this year, bouncing back from their last place position last year. They played some good football this year and managed to topple some of the bigger teams. Gonesville Eels managed to round out the top 5 this year, probably impressing more than Wanderers. They managed to topple Cape Renko twice during the season and Western Hillmen once during the year. Placing a disappointing sixth ware Thaplace City Tigers, who were expected to challenge for the title this year. They had more losses than wins. Their rivals Thaplace City United placed just behind them in seventh. In eighth was Brenton Athletic, who didn’t expect much more than eighth anyway, in second last was Kenworth United and in last, being relegated, was Denborough FC.

B Division Summary: Denzio Demons surprised everybody winning promotion from the B Division this year, and booking themselves a chance at the SBCC. They narrowly edged out Nochinville Warriors by goal difference. Nochinville also booked themselves a chance at the SBCC. Favourites Retuka Town finished in fourth place this year, a little bit like Wanderers FC’s performance.

Effective immediately, the International University Challenge Championship presented by AT will be organised by the Football Federation of Ad’ihan (AFF). The AFF will return to having organisational responsibilities for the competition, taking over from the Vephrall Collegiate Sporting Alliance. The AFF wishes to thank the CSA for their hard work over the duration that the CSA was in charge.

The deadline for entries to the 31st International University Challenge Championship presented by AT is Wednesday, 28 October 2010 at 0900 UTC. The qualifying draw will be conducted the same day. The final of the 31st International University Challenge Championship will be held at the Olympic Tower Stadium in Aeropag, Paripana.

The IUCC Executive Committee also notes that the 31st edition of the tournament will mark the end of the sponsorship contract between the International University Challenge Championship and Aeropag Tribune Media. Corporations wishing to sponsor the tournament from IUCC 32 through 35 should submit applications (in this thread) to the Executive Committee before a date to be announced.

The IUCC Competitions Committee has also announced that the final of IUCC 32 will take place at the Protectorate Stadium in City of Ad’ihan, regardless of the winner of the 31st International University Challenge Championship presented by AT. The final site of IUCC 33 will be determined by the champion association from IUCC 32.

UICA REPORT

CHRONOWIRE SERIES B CHAMPIONS' CUP
We start off with the small beer of the SBCC, in which the Liga entered eight teams. Jhanna City, Inanam, Internashionale, Hecia, and Beverington Hawks all entered at the preliminary stage, with all but Inter promptly exiting. Violia City of Osarius took care of JCFC, the lone Jesseltonian representative lost out to Sargossan side Piratas de Ariaco, and Hecia were never in the races against Eastfield Lodge's Toclafania. Beverington were the unlucky ones of the group, going out on penalties after one-nil wins apiece against Logrian side Hudstone United.

Inter, meanwhile, needed extra time to defeat Lagoon Crocodiles of the Whirl Islands, but won through to face Toclafania in the second round. They were joined at this stage by Cedrus Soundgardia, Hallad Reavers, and lone Krytenian entrants Bradwell Saints. All negotiated safely into the group stage (Internashionale avenging Hecia in the process), with VfB Lordrin of Paripana (or Lontorika, for the pedantic) no match for Cedrus, and Bradwell easing past Maritime, the Logrian navy team.

The group stage was as good as it got for the Starblaydi sides, with only one win for Inter (at home to group-topping Sortherners Marx-Stadt) and Hallad (also at home, to Poconese opponents Athletico Palampas). Bradwell, meanwhile, topped their group, ahead of AFF (Cafundéu), United Mercenaries (Estresse Intenso), and Tallahassee Blues (another Paripanan side, "representing" Ja Si Yun).

Onto the knockouts for Saints then, as they looked to "do a New Cefn" and become only the second Krytenian side to win an official UICA tournament. Riverston Town of Ad'ihan couldn't stop them in the second round, whilst a three-two home win proved sufficient to eliminate Serrano of Cafundéu in the quarters. A brave display away to Valencia of Valladares in the semi-finals meant that the men in green and white were off to Raynor City and the final; the fairytale, however, was denied them by CSD Trecelunas, with the Saints going down three-one in extra time.

TAKILQUIP CHAMPIONS' CUP
And so, onto the big one. The bizarre nature of the Liga's TQCC spots meant that Tabeck took part in the preliminary round in the champion's path, despite being runners-up; Emberton Reds took part in the corresponding path for non-champions at the same stage, with Ousevale Borough entering at the group phase.

Tabeck got an early wake-up call in the competition, losing their first leg to unknowns St Piran of the Ansernia Islands; a four-one win soon righting that particular wrong. Emberton, in the other half of the draw, had few such problems against Osarius' UICA veterans Burningham City, and both advanced to the playoff round. Tabeck, perhaps learning from their close call in the prelims, were defensively stronger against Liventian representatives Dover City; Emberton were not so lucky, knocked out by Sorthern Northland's wonderfully-named Sparrowbottom Athletic.

The group stage, meanwhile, was best forgotten. Tabeck and Ousevale were both drawn in Group E, alongside Valanoran club giants Raynor City United and the dangerous Cafundulenses, Ranca Toco. Neither would make a serious contention for the top two, though the Tigers' away win at RCU granted them a parachute drop into the Globe Cup. Speaking of which...

GLOBE CUP
We start our Globe Cup review in the Preliminary Stage; Sembulan, however, would rather we didn't, as they never recovered from a five-nil first leg defeat at the hands of Valanora's Club ESF. The trickle of teams in (and out) of the competition continued with Foxchester Raiders being knocked out in the Eliminatory Stage by SN's own James Connolly SC; happier news for Avidia United, meanwhile, who went through against Ad'ihani side Pilminster Rovers.

The Qualifying Stage was the beginning (and end) of the road for Iskara Daii - beaten by Logria's Eccleston Orient, a side that played no league football at all last season - and it was the end of Jesselton's participation in UICA football for the season, too, with Kepayan leaving themselves too much to do against Bloomfield National of the Babbage Islands, going out on away goals despite a brave second leg fightback. Naval Sharks of the Whirl Islands, though, were no match for the soaring Eagles, and Avidia joined TQCC parachutees Emberton Reds, as well as direct qualifiers Mercia Bromham, in the Group Stage.

The groups were the end of the road for Emberton (one win in six), but Avidia United and Mercia Bromham both made it through; Ousevale Borough, entering from the TQCC group stage, made three. They, and twenty-nine other hopeful sides, went into the draw for the first knockout round; the draw was not kind to Ousevale or Mercia, however, and they both were eliminated to big name teams at this stage - Hondo (Valanora) and Atlético Jutense (Cafundéu) respectively.

One team, though, remained. Avidia United came from behand to defeat Jamaica Giants, ostensibly of Ja Si Yun, on away goals, before doing exactly the same against Ad'ihan's County Stanley in the round of sixteen. No such drama, though, in a comprehensive quarter-final victory over Zarblese surprise package Warriors, and it was on to the semis.

There, though, it ended, at the hands of the SLANI representatives Black Oasis Athletic. This set up an all-SLANI final; we couldn't agree more.

KPFA League First Division 5243 Season Preview

Tertius Shajarhayam - As World Cup qualification heats up, we must not forget about the domestic divisions! Who isn't looking forward to another great season in Kagdazka and Pazhujebu? Unlike last year, when there was a gigantic clump of mid-table clubs and many teams were expected to compete for UICA places, the spread of quality in the field this year is broad. There are only five or so teams expected to be good enough to finish in the top four and the mid-table teams are likely to finish mid-table again. In fact, the most unpredictable aspect of the First Division may be the relegation dogfight, where there are four or five (depending on who you ask) clubs in danger of the drop. Speaking of which...

As everyone will undoubtedly know, most readers of the Herald are Angels supporters. So how will our boys in red and blue do? Unfortunately, not well, we expect. A total overhaul of the team is necessary at the moment. Even the clubs best two players, Timriz and Semënov, have seen noticeable dips in form for both club and country. What is needed is to push out the older generation of players who have repeatedly proven they aren't good enough. Now, ownership has done the right thing insofar as installing Xenon assistant Zivan Zagorinski at the helm, but not enough has been done so far. The underperforming players are still here, and instead of bringing some performing ones in, we've sold the one good player we did have, Charha Chadi, to Urajbina for a fraction of what he's worth. We're in trouble, Angels fans. Keep your hopes in check this year, especially when we play Therakham. Our biggest rivals are set to have their best season in history, and it will probably be at our expense. We'll never hear the end of it.

Transfers

ST Charhaghezh Chadi (24 yrs old) from Angels to Urajbina
MF Vsevolod Ogorodov (18 yrs old) from Dynamo to Urajbina
DF Yuri Utepov (16 yrs old) from Gimnasia to Sparta (Cotdelapoms)
DF Athaši Hu (19 yrs old) from Juvapanam to Vulkan
GK Zubeida Ichuvihaja (21 yrs old) from Krevetka to Cross SC (Zarbli)
ST Anastasia Khorkuleva (18 yrs old) from Krevetka to Therakham
ST Sergei Aznabaev (18 yrs old) from Nekromanti to Yastrabi
ST Igor Omelchenko (20 yrs old) from Yellowknife Yaks to Zhevassi

Team-by-Team Breakdown

Zhevassi
Colors: Sky blue, orange, and metallic gold
City, Country: Zhevassi, Pazhujebu
Manager: Nemešiabhi Ja (Pazhujebu)
Notable Players: Vasilisa, Qiva, Shcherbina, Omelchenko
Finish Last Year: Champions
Expectations: Title contenders
Other: There's no reason to think the holders will be unseated. Omelchenko is a fine addition to the attack.

FKM
Colors: Orange and silver
City, Country: CMZ Metropolitan Area, Kagdazka
Manager: Cheslav Isyanov (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Vuhumkara, Vaskaryev, Radic, Zbruyev
Finish Last Year: 2nd
Expectations: Title contenders
Other: Isyanov was a great find... he wasn't too expensive and his teams have excellent mental fortitude.

Therakham
Colors: Blue, black, and white
City, Country: Mahathu, Pazhujebu
Manager: Ugo Stowell (Queer Poco el Mono Ara)
Notable Players: Khorkuleva
Finish Last Year: 5th
Expectations: Title contenders
Other: All their spending is a big gamble; after all, they aren't made of money. But Therakham will shine.

Urajbina
Colors: Yellow, blue, and red
City, Country: Urajbina, Pazhujebu
Manager: Kiriyak Dzhamgerchinov (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Vazavorski, Guvidhipa, Chadi, Ogorodov
Finish Last Year: 14th
Expectations: Chance at Globe Cup spot
Other: No team spent more money in the offseason; new manager + new players = a lot better than 14th.

Vulkan
Colors: Burgundy and wisteria
City, Country: Gelendzhik, Kagdazka
Manager: Yegor Gaznayev (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Yivashaktim, Hu, Mizirov, Stefanovic
Finish Last Year: 7th
Expectations: Chance at Globe Cup spot
Other: Their fans can gloat all they want that Meteoriti have gone down, it won't win them the title.

Shadows
Colors: Silver and black
City, Country: Pkethat Šede, Pazhujebu
Manager: Miron Stefanyshyn (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Uharhi
Finish Last Year: 6th
Expectations: Upper mid-table
Other: 6th last year, 6th the year before, probably 6th this year. Their problem: the fans don't care.

Yastrabi
Colors: Amber and white
City, Country: Dyurtyuli, Kagdazka
Manager: Katerina Lyakhova (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Aznabaev
Finish Last Year: 11th
Expectations: Upper mid-table
Other: Aznabaev is a beast. He can't carry Yastrabi, but he'll do enough to keep them solidly mid-table.

Gimnasia
Colors: Turquoise and wisteria
City, Country: Gelendzhik, Kagdazka
Manager: Sergei Qaralashvili (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Levantis, Monalté, Nikolic
Finish Last Year: 8th
Expectations: Lower mid-table
Other: Owner Alakar Maxagonal wants to get the attack-minded club to the UICA spots. Not this year.

Krevetka
Colors: Wisteria
City, Country: Oktyabrsk, Kagdazka
Manager: Prosha Tsilevich (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: -
Finish Last Year: 3rd
Expectations: Lower mid-table
Other: Building a dynasty? Evidently not. Khorkuleva and Ichuvihaja have flown, as have Krevetka's chances.

Xenon
Colors: Navy blue
City, Country: Gvardeysk, Kagdazka
Manager: Wladyslaw Bashirskaya (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Denisov, Belyakov
Finish Last Year: 9th
Expectations: Lower mid-table
Other: Xenon's management is a hot commodity; two assistant managers have been bought by other clubs.

Juvapanam
Colors: Sky blue and silver
City, Country: Juvapanam, Pazhujebu
Manager: Šudhan Chahachim (Pazhujebu)
Notable Players: Ghur, Chahachim
Finish Last Year: 4th
Expectations: Lower mid-table
Other: So close yet so far: last season's near UICA achievement will be followed by more typical mediocrity.

Angels
Colors: Red, sky blue, and purple
Cities: Dyurtyuli, Kagdazka and Mahathu, Pazhujebu
Manager: Zivan Zagorinski (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: Timriz, Semënov, Spiridonov
Finish Last Year: 10th
Expectations: Relegation danger
Other: See above. Supporters need to brace themselves; Angels could be this year's Meteoriti.

Nekromanti
Colors: Black and red
City, Country: Fatezh, Kagdazka
Manager: Sergei Pakhomov (Kagdazka)
Notable Players: -
Finish Last Year: 12th
Expectations: Relegation danger
Other: Everyone was pleased to see Nekromanti stay up last year, but the dream could be over this time.

Dynamo
Colors: Yellow and wisteria
City, Country: Tashtagol, Kagdazka
Manager: Khuzhu Uthassišabipa (Pazhujebu)
Notable Players: Tchailharovic
Finish Last Year: 13th
Expectations: Relegation danger
Other: Dynamo after selling Nikolic = 3rd to 13th. Dynamo after selling Ogorodov = 13th to... uh-oh.

Urnabhi
Colors: Dark pink and orange
City, Country: Emuzhezh, Pazhujebu
Manager: Brutušam Erassi (Pazhujebu)
Notable Players: -
Finish Last Year: Second Division, Group B, 1st
Expectations: Relegation danger
Other: How the hell did they even make it up? Urnabhi are the lightest of lightweights; fodder.

Yellowknife Yaks
Colors: Black and yellow
City, Country: Dyurtyuli, Kagdazka
Manager: Alexandre Ogrande (Zarbli)
Notable Players: -
Finish Last Year: Second Division, Group C, 1st
Expectations: Relegation danger
Other: Oh, not this lot again. Nutters FC return to the top flight with a Zarblese coach but no good players.

One final note; even though they are rivals to our beloved Angels, we at the Herald salute Zhevassi for their qualification to the Globe Cup group stages in the tournament's latest edition. Though they were obliterated out of their group, we were all still very pleased to see a team from the Federation make that first step up.

ST Cup
The first ST cup will hopefully be a good one. It will consist of all teams in the A Division (including relegated Denborough FC) and 6 teams in the B Division. Western Hillmen will be looking for a win in the Cup after their successful title defence in the League, but Wanderers FC and Cape Renko Dolphins will be there to contest that.
First Round
Gonesville Eels 2-2 Denborough FC (2-2 agg)
Stuffed Air Stadium: Crowd 58,456
Gonesville took an early two goal lead, but Denborough fought back with goals from a corner and a penalty respectively.
Denborough FC 2-1 Gonesville Eels (4-3 agg)
Eastern Stadium: Crowd 30,122
Denborough dominated all game and an own goal was all that kept Gonesville’s hopes alive.

Cape Renko Dolphins 1-0 Wanderers FC (1-0 agg)
Cape Stadium: Crowd 5,000
Cape Renko managed to hold on in a tight match at home against Wanderers FC, A low strike from near the halfway line secured the game for them.
Wanderers FC 1-3 Cape Renko Dolphins (1-4 agg)
Eastern Stadium: Crowd 72,996
Cape Renko produced an amazing performance away from home securing a trip to the Semis. They had a 2-0 lead at half time and produced another convincing performance. The victory left them 4-1 against Wanderers on aggregate.

Western Hillmen 3-0 Denzio Demons (3-0 agg)
Western Park: Crowd 17,000
The reigning champions showed Denzio Demons that next year is not going to be a walk in the park, defeating them 3-0 in a display of authority. Western Hillmen performed well without Former Captain David Smith.
Denzio Demons 0-3 Western Hillmen (0-6 agg)
Denzio Pitch: Crowd 3,456
Western Hillmen once again dominated Denzio, defeating them 3-0, leaving the score 6-0 on aggregate.

Nochinville Knights 0-6 Kenworth United (0-6 agg)
Sertenio Stadium: Crowd 4,678
Kenworth absolutely dominated this game. Everybody in the crowd left the stadium utterly shocked with the result. Nochinville looked unconfident out of the field, but it was mainly due to the good performance by Kenworth
Kenworth United 3-1 Nochinville Knights (9-1 agg)
George I Convention Centre: Crowd 20,534
Kenworth managed another victory at George I Convention Centre, making the score 9-1 on aggregate.

Brenton Athletic 1-0 Eastern Rangers (1-0 agg)
Retuka Stadium: Crowd 74,987
Brenton slipped in a quick goal 5 minutes into the game and managed to hold on for the rest of the match.
Eastern Rangers 2-1 Brenton Athletic (2-2 AET, 2-3 agg)
Stuffed Air Stadium: Crowd 64,578
Brenton Athletic had a 1 goal lead at half time after a goal from a free kick. Let the game go in the second half, and Rangers managed to scrape a 1 goal victory, forcing the game into extra time. After four exciting goals, extra time finished 2-2. Brenton Managed to come through after Eastern Rangers last shot went wide.

Thaplace City Tigers 2-4 Thaplace City United (2-4 agg)
Thaplace International Stadium: Crowd 125,000
The Tigers were playing inferior football and let United get the better of them.
Thaplace City United 1-2 Thaplace City Tigers (5-4 agg)
Thaplace International Stadium: Crowd 124,987
Both teams played average football, but Tigers got the empty win, and United limped through 5-4 on aggregate.

Jifcel United 1-3 Retuka Town (1-3 agg)
Jifcel Stadium: Crowd 6,700
Retuka produced good football, what was expected but not seen over the course of the season.
Retuka Town 2-1 Jifcel United (5-2 agg)
Retuka Stadium: Crowd 19,982
Retuka Town produced a less convincing win at home, but it was good enough to send them to the next round on 5-2

Tungo City 1-1 Interbar AC (1-1 agg)
Tungo Ground: Crowd 2,322
Tungo drew with Interbar in a tightly contested game
Interbar AC 0-0 Tungo City (0-0 AET, 1-1 agg, 3-2 PKs)
Old Interbar Ground: Crowd 998
In a very boring game, Extra time couldn’t sort out the result. Interbar eventually prevailed via Penalty Kicks.

Semi Finals
Denborough FC 1-2 Cape Renko Dolphins (1-2 agg)
Eastern Stadium: Crowd 50,378
Cape Renko produced a performance good enough to secure a win at a mostly empty Eastern Stadium. Denborough showed sign of resistance in the second half, but it was too late as they were two nil down at that point.
Cape Renko Dolphins 1-0 Denborough FC (3-1 agg)
Cape Stadium: Crowd 5,000
Cape Renko managed to hold onto a well earned win in an exciting game that had plenty of shots on goal. The result leaves the score on aggregate at 3-1, a good result from Cape Renko and a brave effort from Denborough.

Western Hillmen 0-0 Kenworth United (0-0 agg)
Western Park: Crowd 17,000
On a rainy and miserable day, Kenworth took advantage of an Adriano injury and held on for a surprising draw. Both teams had plenty of shots in the first half, but in the second half the gameplay slowed down.
Kenworth United 1-1 Western Hillmen (1-1 AET, 1-1 agg, 2-1 PKs)
George I Convention Centre: Crowd 21,000
Kenworth produced a great performance to really challenge Western Hillmen in normal time and courtesy to a scissor kick goal had Western Hillmen at 1-1 at the end of the game, leaving it 1-1 on aggregate. In extra time both teams produced goals, so therefore it had to go into Penalty Kicks. The eventual results were in favour of Kenworth thanks to Western Hillmens Goalkeeper being young and inexperienced and letting an easy shot in. The crowd looked very happy and proud of the win against the League Champions.

Brenton Athletic 2-0 Thaplace City United (2-0 agg)
Retuka Stadium: Crowd 79,890
Brenton put on a dominant display to seal the game in the second half after good defding in the first half from United, although they couldn’t hold out forever.
Thaplace City United 1-0 Brenton Athletic (1-2 agg)
Thaplace International Stadium: Crowd 125,000
United managed an average and bare win at home after an Athletic goal was disallowed due to a foul committed in the box. The game left the score at 2-1 on aggregate.

Retuka Town 0-1 Interbar AC (0-1 agg)
Retuka Stadium: Crowd 67,934
Interbar caused another upset at Retuka Stadium in front of the nation’s leader, defeating Retuka Town 1-0. Retuka tried every trick in the book trying to get past Interbar’s defence, but nothing worked.
Interbar AC 2-1 Retuka Town (3-1 agg)
Old Interbar Ground: Crowd 4,980
Interbar sealed a trip to the Preliminaries with a win against Retuka Town at home. Interbar were down 1-0 at half time but put two goals in the net in the first ten minutes of the second half. The fina; score was 3-1 on aggregate to Interbar AC.

Preliminary Finals
Cape Renko Dolphins 6-0 Kenworth United (6-0 agg)
Cape Stadium: Crowd 5,000
Cape Renko dominated Kenworth and obliterated any hope that they had of making the final. Tow red cards in the first half mad things look bad for Kenworth, but then Cape Renko scored 5 goals in the second half to make it worse. Cape Renko striker Rufus Mckenzies scored 5 goals (all in the second half)
Kenworth United 1-4 Cape Renko Dolphins (1-10 agg)
George I Convention Centre: Crowd 11,997
Cape Renko once again beat Kenworth, this time at a sparsely capacitated George I Convention Centre. The game left the score an astonishing 10-1 on aggregate.

Brenton Athletic 1-0 Interbar AC (1-0 agg)
Retuka Stadium: Crowd 80,000
Brenton gained an important win at home to put their hopes up for a place In the final. A header goal from a corner sealed the win for Athletic.
Interbar AC 0-2 Brenton Athletic (0-3 agg)
Old Interbar Ground: Crowd 5,000
Interbar tried their hearts out but couldn’t get a result at home. Athletic progressed to the final/s against Cape Renko. The final score was 3-0 on aggregate.

Finals
Cape Renko Dolphins 6-0 Brenton Athletic (6-0 agg)
Thaplace International Stadium: Crowd 125,000
Cape Renko Dolphins Goals: Mckenzies: 17, 18, 45+1 Censet: 34 Xven: 73, 89
Brenton Athletic Goals: None

First Half
The day was sunny and many people flocked to watch the first edition of the final of the ST Cup, and not many expected to see a close game. They did not get one. Brenton got the first shot on target almost right after the game started, but it was quickly booted up field by the goalkeeper and after a few minutes of meddling around, Mckenzies closed in on goal and scored Cape Renko’s first. After a quick turnover after the game restarted, Mckenzies scored his and Cape Renko’s second. Scott Censet scored Cape Renko’s third with a sneaky shot that went in the top left corner. In extra time of the first half Mckenzies scored his hat trick with a chip shot.
Second Half
The opening 25 minutes of the second half went without much incident, as the ball was held up in the middle whenever Cape Reno tried to attack the Brenton Athletic defence seemed up to the job. But in the 71st minute one of their defenders was sent off with an injury and Cape Renko Striker Tequternana Xven saw an opportunity to score. He dodged past the Athletic defence and put the ball in the back of the net. Even though Athletic knew the game and most likely the Cup was out of their reach, they didn’t give up, but Xven managed to score his second just before the start of injury time.

Brenton Athletic 0-1 Cape Renko Dolphins (0-7 agg)
Thaplace International Stadium: Crowd 125,000
Cape Renko Dolphins Goals: Xven: 23.
Brenton Athletic Goals: None
First Half
It was a windy day, and though the result was most likely already decided, the Stadium was still full of yelling supporters. The First Half was mostly a bore other than Tequternana Xven’s goal from the halfway line. Brenton Athletic seemed to have the advantage most of the half, getting more shots on target then Cape Renko Dolphins.
Second Half
The Second Half began with rain sprinkling the pitch. There was almost no action until twenty minutes into the half, but by then it was too late for Brenton Athletic. The final whistle was met with a loud roar from the Cape Renko fans in the crowd and ecstatic celebrations from the players.

Cape Renko have won the first ST Cup, after failing to win in the league. Wanderers FC were surprising in a bad way, going out in the first round. League Champions were shockingly knocked out by Kenworth United in the Semi Finals. Hopefully the cup will be some indication of what it will be like in the league next year.

31st International University Challenge Championship presented by AT

The 31st International University Challenge Championship sees the tournament's smallest number of participating teams since the rules were changed to allow each association to send three teams. Just four associations—Virçais (which replaces Vephrall), Liventia, Ad’ihan and the Academy Sporting Association—sent teams to compete.

A total of 13 teams will take part in this edition, the smallest since the ninth edition of the tournament saw just 11 teams take part. The small number of teams has necessitated a change in format for this tournament. Defending champions Van Prooijen University (ASA) will receive a bye to the final stage. The remaining 12 teams will play in three groups of four—each group containing a team from each nation—with each group winner joining Van Prooijen in the finals, which will be held as a round-robin stage.

The winner of the final round-robin stage will be presented with the IUCC trophy.

The 1st Cryillic Cup sponsored by Æ

The 1st Cryillic Cup is a domestic soccer competition where every major team in Teinohikira gather to play in one spot, and that one spot being the champions. Every major city will send in it's soccer team to compete for the Rudolph-Osté Trophy. Every team controls their own destiny, every game counts, and every breath, drop of sweat, and possible drop of blood will count.

A total of 25 teams will take part in this edition, the largest that the competition will start out with. The remaining 25 teams will play in 5 groups of 5—each group containing a team from each city—with the 2 best teams in the 5 groups will be advancing to the play-offs, the winner of those play-off games will advance to the quarter-finals, though at this point, one 3rd place team will come into the quarter-finals because of uneven teams. After that will come the semi-finals, and at this point, another 3rd place team from a group will come in and play because of uneven teams. Then comes the final, which will be held as a round-robin stage. The winning team wins the Rudolph-Osté Trophy.

Virçais Continental Football Federation

At long last, sport has risen from the ashes on the continent of Virçais. The same financial crisis that ultimately caused the fall of the government of Kura-Pelland and thus the continental unification also took much of Vephrall's sports infrastructure with it. Of the 63 clubs that competed in the final 1787 season of the Televeph League, only 14 survived completely intact. Eight others were forced to merge with other clubs from the same city in order to survive; the remaining 41 ultimately closed their doors permanently. On the bright side, three new professional football clubs were able to form in some of Vephrall's largest cities. These 21 clubs have joined with 21 clubs from the former Kura-Pelland to compete in the inaugural Continental League.

The first season of the Continental League will feature a one-tier, two-division setup. The Western and Eastern Divisions, corresponding to the former territories of Kura-Pelland and Vephrall, respectively, will each consist of 21 teams playing a double round-robin. The champions of each division will play each other to determine the league champion. The top seven finishers in each division will play the second season in the 14-team First Division; the remaining 14 teams in each division will stay put in what will be renamed the Second Division West and Second Division East.

The clubs that will compete in the inaugural season are as follows:

In addition to various other changes, most clubs that did not previously include their city of residence as part of their name have now added it; some names have also been moderately Anglicized. All name changes are noted; names of cities are highlighted in blue.

31st International University Challenge Championship presented by AT

The 31st International University Challenge Championship saw the tournament's smallest number of participating teams since the rules were changed to allow each association to send three teams. Just four associations—Virçais (which replaces Vephrall), Liventia, Ad’ihan and the Academy Sporting Association—sent teams to compete.

A total of 13 teams took part in this edition, the smallest since the ninth edition of the tournament saw just 11 teams take part. The small number of teams has necessitated a change in format for this tournament. Defending champions Van Prooijen University (ASA) received a bye to the final stage. The remaining 12 teams played in a preliminary round-robin stage involving three groups of four—each group containing a team from each nation—with each group winner joining Van Prooijen in the finals.

Final stage matches played at the Olympic Tower Stadium, Aeropag

In a shock final stage, three-time defending champions Van Prooijen University manage to win only one of their six matches, against the eventual champion University of Sonoma. However, with Sonoma's win, the Academy Sporting Association has now won the last six consecutive IUCC titles.

The final of IUCC32 will be held at Protectorate Stadium in Ad’ihan.

The IUCC Executive Committee notes that the conclusion of 31st edition of the tournament marks the end of the sponsorship contract between the International University Challenge Championship and Aeropag Tribune Media. Corporations wishing to sponsor the tournament from IUCC 32 through 35 should submit applications (in this thread) to the Executive Committee before the next tournament. AT will be automatically considered for renewal unless indicated otherwise.

Get ready for some preseason football on the beautiful and isolated island of St-Forunat in the northernmost region of Cotdelapoms! The first ever St-Fortunat Interligue features a bafflingly convoluted format, and a C$1,000,000 prize for the winning team.

In round 1, the three seeded teams, Poconese side Valengren Kickers, Zarblese side Pyramid AC and the de facto hosts, Cotdelapomais squad Sainte-Catherine take on Stephen of August from Nova Cambria, Suudport from Greater Cotswalds and Ebor Thunder of Mytannion, respectively. The three winning teams will then be put in one group for group play, and the three losing teams will be put into another group for group play. In the groups, each team will play each other once. The winner of the "loser's bracket" group, and the third place team from the "winner's bracket" will then play one another, the winner facing the 2nd place from the "winner's bracket", with the winner of that playing the winner of the "winner's bracket" in the InterLigue final for the $1,000,000. Sound unnecessarily confusing? That's the Cotdelapomais way...

(OOC: I've finagled some UICA coefficients into team ranking for the tournament, but given Sainte-Catherine a slight bump for being the "home" team, which is why they are third seeded even though Mytannion has a better UICA league coefficient.)

First Round
Valengren Kickers 0-0 Stephen of August (0-0 AET, 0-0 agg, 0-2 PKs)

Pyramid AC 3-2 Suudport (3-2 agg)

Sainte-Catherine 4-6 Ebor Thunder (4-6 agg)

After the Nova Cambrian side took Valengren to penalties and eventually knocked them out (penalties are a fluky mistress, aren't they?) Pyramid appeared to be in the drivers' seat after the first round. Pyramid faced a harder than expected challenge from the Waaldish side, but a hat trick from Lanternaverde propelled them past the upstarts. Saints and Ebor played a wild one in front of a surprisingly hostile crowd towards the Cotdelapomais side. Valladar hero Gilbert Le Tallec scored twice for Saints, but the usually quite defensive Thunder had no trouble counter-attacking a full speed ahead Saints side. Left-back Parmova, Right Winger Gotthard Nilsson and strikers Gadan Ynan and Asiut Eli all scored for the Mytanar side.

MATCHDAY 1
Pyramid AC 3-0 Ebor Thunder
Suudport 2-1 Sainte-Catherine

The Thunder's strong opening round was then turned on its' head as the Zarblese side dismantled them by playing very strongly through the middle with local favourite Iestyn Rhys-Lloyd and the captain, Farao. In the other match, Suudport thoroughly outplayed a disinterested looking Sainte-Catherine, who played 30 minutes with ten men after Gareth Tudur's vicious tackle on Andreas Gerhard, which is certainly not in the spirit of the tournament.

MATCHDAY 2
Ebor Thunder 1-3 Stephen of August
Sainte-Catherine 3-4 Valengren Kickers

Ebor continued to slip, this time falling to surprising Stephen of August, the runners up of the last Nova Cambrian NFL. SoA were helped out by two goals by Cotdelapomais exile Massimo Picard. Saints again tried to attack at all costs in their matchup with Poconese side Valengren Kickers, but they were outgunned, which tends to happen against teams full of Cafundelense players. Two of which, Gnomo and Ânderson Laranja netted beauties. Saints also acquired their second red card of the tournament, this time when Ivandro got a two yellows, the first for taking his shirt off after a goal, and the second for punting a ball into the stands in frustration, not exactly the brightest move.

MATCHDAY 3
Stephen of August 3-0 Pyramid AC
Valengren Kickers 3-1 Suudport

The least favoured side in this little event was the Nova Cambrian club Stephen of August, but perhaps they have the most to gain from this tournament, and certainly showed it by beating Pyramid 3-0 in the final matchday of the group stage. Valengren redeemed themselves by putting a 3-1 hurting on the Waaldish side to clinch their way into the ladder rounds. The Kickers got goals from the Valanoran Finwë Celebrindal, Gnomo and reserve Liam Deepdale.

So now, we move into the ladder stages!

First Round
Valengren Kickers 1-1 Ebor Thunder (1-2 AET, 1-2 agg)

The Kickers and Thunder played in what was easily the most evenly matched and exciting match of the tournament. Valengren got off to an early lead when Nazim Benayoun's mazy 13th minute run through Fons M. Madsen and Slsoo Marib lured out the keeper, which allowed him to pass the ball out to an on-running Raulzito, who had a wide open net. He took advantage of it and the Kickers looked set to park the bus out front and try to hold on, which they admirably did for 70 minutes until a bad tackle from Daeron Srion gave the Thunder a free kick in a dangerous position. Alan Alia blasted a wonder strike that reserve keeper Dane Vince had no chance at touching, and this seemed to demoralise the Poconese side, because the Thunder scored early on in the extra time, Gotthard Nilsson taking advantage of a broken defensive play.

Second Round
Pyramid AC 0-2 Ebor Thunder (0-2 agg)

Surprisingly, Pyramid seemed to roll over to the Thunder, perhaps deciding to save themselves for the Duke League and Zarblese International Cup. Gadan Ynan scored twice for Ebor, putting them through to face off with the Nova Cambrians in the final.

Final
Stephen of August 0-1 Ebor Thunder (0-1 agg)

Members of Ebor's Northmen Kop traveled out to St-Fortunat for this, their first international final, and whilst it is just a small time pre-season tournament, there's no reason to rain on their parade. They were also out for revenge, after losing to Stephen in the group stage. The match was over fairly early on, as Ynan netted his golden boot winning fifth of the tournament and put away the Nova Cambrians in just the 8th minute. S of A tried valiantly to fight back, and their manager eventually made some controversial substitutions in the dying minutes that put the team in an all-offence 3-3-4 formation, but it did no good as Parmova and the rest of the 5 man backline were all over the pitch stomping these late attacks out and then booting the ball forward, where S of A had a surprisingly difficult time re-accelerating their attack. The Thunder players and fans celebrated as the whistle blew, with a pitch invasion and sparkling wine. Congrats to Ebor Thunder for winning C$1,000,000 and the very first St-Fortunat Interligue!

KPFA League First Division 5243 Season in Review

Tertius Shajarhayam - The third season of the KPFA's leagues is over, with CMZ club FKM running away with the First Division title and Begemoti replacing YKY in the Relegation/Promotion Round. Here are the big stories.

FKM: People's Club Crowned People's Champions At Last. Fans of the orange and silver have been ranting and raving for years about their trials and tribulations, but they can have no such complaints this year. FKM looked both exciting in attack (which they have always done) AND resilient in defense (a new development, inspired surely by their stellar manager Cheslav Isyanov, purchased from Yellowknife Yaks a year ago). Chaya Vuhumkara yet again resembled a fine wine, only improving with age, as the 33-year-old won the First Division's Golden Boot for the third year on the trot and, despite his antics, can confidently claim to be the Kagdazka and Pazhujebu's best player.

Khorkuleva and Razava Lead Triumphant March to Globe Cup. Therakham ZL fulfilled their promise as the First Division's new powerful force by climbing to a club-record second-place finish. Buoyed by the ruthless goalscoring machine of Ana Khorkuleva and the creative assists from Aquillius Razava, the black and blue were often totally unstoppable. Ms. Khorkuleva is now assured of a place in the national team, and Mr. Razava will fancy his chance to enter the team as well, despite being no youngster at age 27. Manager Ugo Stowell appeared visibly emotional at the season's-end press conference, having redeemed himself to, if not his Pocoan countrymen, the Kagdaz and Pazhujebi public.

Surprises in Oktyabrsk; Krevetka Don't Slip Up After All. In spite of a total dismantling of their excellent 5242 team (which involved the departures of aforementioned striker Khorkuleva, starting Federation national team goalkeeper Ichuvihaja, and manager Kiriyak Dzhamgerchinov), Krevetka once again finished third in the KPFA League First Division. Their nationalistic fans saw a team of young unknowns go toe to toe with teams who had written them off as a one-hit wonder, and week after week, win. The dynasty that had at season's beginning been dismissed by the media as but a dream, is, perhaps, still alive. The Shrimp will once again play in the Globe Cup.

Yastrabi Crumble in 2nd Half of Season, Miss UICA Places. After fifteen games, the Hawks appeared poised to snatch a shock Globe Cup spot from a giant like Urajbina or Vulkan, having rampaged past many a weaker side and valiantly stood their ground against many a stronger side. The young target man Aznabaev was every bit the physical presence he was anticipated to be. But the summer and autumn months eventually were too trying for Yastrabi, and the Hawks slumped down the ladder. Eventually they found themselves where the media had expected them to be (mid-table), and their fourth-place finish is indicative only of their two wins on the final two matchdays.

Zhevassi Fall From Throne But Still Obtain Silverware. Two time champions Zhevassi saw their form decline rapidly in the autumn as they were distracted by the Globe Cup group stage, and this ultimately left them well adrift of any title opportunity. As the sky blue, orange, and gold saw their back line age before their eyes, and saw an injury take out star striker Shcherbina midseason, their hopes for a threepeat evaporated. Luckily for fans of the Zahuj Peninsula team, silver lining was to be found in the Šenapatiam'ajat Vahavi, where Urajbina, Therakham, and Krevetka were all left in tears by Zhevassi. The team's first victory in the Vahavi stamps their tickets to the Cygnus Cup.

BREAKING NEWS: King's Guard Sporting Club banned from OFA competitions

The Osarian Football Association's investigations into allegations of genetic engineering by King's Guard Sporting Club in last season's King's League, Corradini Cup and OFA Cup competitions are said to have been proven beyond reasonable doubt. As a result, Lord William Kenterbury has released the following statement:

"We have spoken with the Commander-in-Chief of the King's Guard, as well as His Majesty, and have come to the conclusion that it would perhaps be in the best interests of all parties involved if the King's Guard were no longer permitted to enter a football team into OFA competitions. There is to be a further investigation to decide whether or not there should be any forfeiture of titles won last season, as well as investigations into the counter-claims made by the King's Guard, referring to potential match-fixing on the part of three King's League clubs who we are not willing to name at this moment in time."

The counter-claims Lord Kenterbury is referring to were made last week by Commander Kidd - the head of the football section of the King's Guard - when he criticised the "hypocritical" world of Osarian football, and what he perceived to be "victimisation, while there are other clubs who are fixing matches and not just making the most of the technology available." The case put forward by their rivals, however, is that this technology is not readily available to the public, or to other clubs, as the government keeps all genetic engineering under "strict control". More news will follow soon.

VCFF Continental League, 1789 season
(Note: Virçais continues to use the Vephrese calendar; the Televeph League's final season was 1787. There was no competition in 1788, thus no entries into the last round of UICA tournaments.)

Preseason Western Division favorite United Trilan was a bit of a disappointment, finishing only 7th, just barely high enough to be invited to next year's First Division. The other top clubs all lived up to their billing and in the end it was Parwood City that would end up on top as the division representative to the championship.

Eastern Division favorite Poiki, on the other hand, did live up to their billing. Unfortunately for them, they ended up losing out to Stithis-Knolees on the second tiebreaker (number of wins) after the two drew both matches against each other 1-1. Daazy-Mersira was something of a surprise in third place; meanwhile Mylfe fans are angry after the second richest club in the East finished all the way down in tenth and will be stuck in the Second Division East next year.

The Whirl Islands Premier League Season 3

First, the Premier League was "Orange", then "Blue" and now "Red". Navel FC, the second most popular team in the Whirl Islands, managed to become the third winner of the Premier League with an outstanding and demolishing performance (including a cruel 10-0 thrashing of newcomers Sparta) and will carry the Islander banner in the next TQCC. The Sharks, overpowered by their old arch-rivals, had to settle for second place and a spot in the next Globe Cup, as well as Atlantis and Eastburg, who will return to the international stage after a one-season hiatus. The Red Diamonds will miss UICA competition this time, and Union and Sparta managed to keep alive the rivalry in the Premier League for (at least) one season more. Port-Vieux competed with more sorrow than glory, and were relegated. Bye-bye!

The Whirl Islands Campeonato Nacional Season 3

This time, the Crocodiles had the right to double triple prize, as they were not only the champions, but also were promoted to the Premier League and qualified to the SBCC. Racing and Athletic (once again) failed in their attempt to be sent back to the Premier League and had to settle for a SBCC spot, while Náutico are still among the top but with no right to promotion so far. We don't think it's worth talking about these other pathetic teams, so we won't waste our time on them.

(OOC: I would like to ask for the changing of Whirl Islands' TLC, from the current WHI to WRL, in order to avoid some unpleasant confusions with Whittoria. Specially on the NSwiki pages. Thanks in advance.)

The Collegiate Sporting Alliance and all its member institutions, unlike their professional counterparts, have survived the great Virçais financial crisis completely intact. In fact, the upcoming 1789 season will see the existing 83-school membership grow to 87.

The University of Cimnersog and Healfat College were formerly CSA members a few decades ago, but withdrew from the CSA when the Northern Territory was organized into the semi-autonomous state of Panuul so that teams representing those two institutions could compete in Panuul's short-lived semi-professional league. With the Cimnersog and Healfat programs now back in compliance with CSA regulations, they have been re-accepted.

In addition, two universities from the former Kura-Pelland will participate in CSA competitions for the first time. The University of Minsten and the University of Fariynuff, generally considered far and away the premier university sport programs in Kura-Pelland, will begin CSA play in 1789.

Cimnersog, Healfat, Minsten, and Fariynuff will compete in their own new conference, the Association of Northern Universities (ANU). Because the conference will have only four members, its champion will not receive an automatic bid to the national championship tournament; a team will still be eligible to participate if it finishes the season ranked in the top 16.
