Dí Maozöxê deny FC Capri the chance of repeating as champions, a feat only Mâ Âlâmëómë, Fligsive FC, and Magnaues City have been able to achieve. This is the seventh title for Farfadillis and the fourth club from the Southwestern nation to lift the trophy, though it is the first for Dí Maozöxê. All entrants into the next AOCL must have won their nation's league or be the highest placed team of their association in a multiassociation league, with the exception of Dí Maozöxê who are guaranteed a spot in the next AOCL group stage. Should they fail to qualify directly, Farfadillis will be granted a second spot.

Who will be the next Hadrian Belfast, Mike Sarzo, or Matilda Swords? Will Tájö retain his crown?

Boldsport Magazine proudly presents the longlist of the international phenomenon of the Boldsports Sports Writers Awards for the greatest football players in the multiverse: The Galacticos Index.

Whittling down from over three hundred candidates, some of whom were eliminated for having retired without informing the magazine, or for pretending to be stars when they were only third string left backs with 'creative' PR agents and clever video editors, we now present to you the long list of what we are quite sure are the best 29 players in the world at the close of the UICA 68 cycle. Both previous winners, Tájö Çíânflöné and Adnan Szalai, make the list once more.

With the previous presentation ceremony ending in an infamous bunfight at the Polarian Hotel between the Guayabalense and just about everyone else, Boldsport have been banned from booking the hotel this year and will move to the new facilities constructed for 'World Cup Island' at the Fellowship of The Greasy Churn HQ - that's the FA to you and me - at Goat's Bluff, Threemilestone.

To maintain the dramatic build-up the Narrative Committee have decided to release the longlist in advance of the main ceremony as they did with the superlonglist, and here, for your delight and discussion, is that list:

We got a dubious Boney football agent to offer his opinion on the group and the likely effect of this award on their careers. In no way, he says, is he talking up the market to the benefit of the agents, those rapscallion tea-leaves.

Ezra Carp, super-agent:

Well I predicted two cycles ago that prices would go through the roof thanks to the first Boldsport Galactico Index but that just wasn't the case, as most clubs and players simply ignored the award. They are a bit more interested now, of course.

Now if you look at the last window, ignoring those insane and slightly unlikely top three transfers of Miles Snavely, James Palmisano - I mean, really? lovely footballer, don't get me wrong, but he's hardly your Adnan Szalai, now - and Chi-Chan (honestly, the world has gone mad) the average price for a top-ten player in the window was a sniff over 17 million notes. I'd say getting on that longlist of twenty nine there - the best 29 in the world? - if that was my player, I would easily be looking at 20% over that average. Twenty point five million chips for them, assuming they don't make it onto the Boldsport Team of The Cycle or the shortlist.

The great and good of the football world are now invited to attend the awards ceremony at Goat's Bluff where they will be serving the finest blotwine, rue, and wightbeer while the Boldsport staff writers circulate to explain their votes to disgruntled chairpersons and players who are not where they thought they ought to be.

People have wondered what the tibias and fibulae is going on with the nomination system which makes little to no sense to some observers. Whilst I would never give away the whole process that the dedicated - and often drunk - voting writers go through to get to their decisions, it is fair to say that the logic of the shortlisting begins with some assumptions: that the best players in the world probably play for their national team, that they are probably starters at their club teams, and their club teams are probably pretty highly ranked in club football. They may well have won things during the cycle too, in club or international football or both. Cross referencing the UICA and NSWC rankings, looking at the regional tournaments at club and international level, catching the domestic sportswires, searching the names and adding some bonus for RP; and throwing in some clangers because I get roster-blindness every six hours or so is the approximate process by which the index takes shape. Who will be the next Urra SunBlesséd, Masvidal, or Jahirii Tai’Seri? Some would say nobody could be the next Masvidal, and perhaps that is a good thing.

Boldsport Magazine, proud purveyor of shoddy sports journalism since about last April, welcomes you the the third global phenomenon that is the Boldsports Sports Writers Awards for the greatest football players in the universe: The Galacticos Index.

Boldsport Editor-in-Chief, Izzy Worthette:

“Welcome one and all - even you, Laborious, and your pointy-eared friends - to the third annual bash of the sports writers award, relocated now to this fine post-World Cup facility on Threemilestone island. I hope you are finding your accommodations at Goat's Bluff village to your liking?

“Since a prestigious award of this magnitude is bound to attract the attention of big clubs to the lucky few who have been nominated for the awards, we have on hand football agent, dealmaker and notorious fixer Ezra Carp to analyse the market and the potential demands an agent - I mean a player - could make to jump into the transfer market. No doubt he’ll be talking up the market and touting for clients if he’s not busy so let’s keep an eye on him and his table of sheik friends over there, who look Gadiryan but certainly don’t sound it when you get up close to them. We also have television pundit Kirtland Straw here from our satellite television partner Spudnix Sports to recap some of the achievements of the nominees we have on the card tonight.

“Clubs are going to have to pay top dollar to secure the services of one of these gems, Izzy. I’m talking about one and a half times the current average ‘high fee’. I’ve studied the transfer market in the last window and if you take the top ten highest transfer fees paid last time around, you’re looking at an average of 23.3 million moula - that's up around 4 mil' on the first Galacticos event and I've been paid to say that's the effect this prestigious award is having on the market. So I’m suggesting clubs looking to buy from the longlist will probably not get anyone lower than 35 million notes from this lot - minimum!

“Oh, and I must say, this is the oldest average longlist in the short history of the index - we've got a few seniors in the house tonight - quite apart from Homo Alfus, of course - I'd ask Adrian Lindberg, Charles Hunter and Kris Campbell to stand up and take a bow, but I'm not sure we have time to wait and they might not get back down again, poor old fellas. It's also the most women we've seen on the longlist: you go girls... um, as they say in Jeruselem.”

“Finishing second in the World Cup and placing second in the current UICA rankings, it's no wonder the Eurans are well represented tonight, but us locals are disappointed there is no JK Cottle or Tuw Turk on the list - I'm sure no-one would have batted an eye if we'd thrown in at least the captain of Champions Cup finalists Handon United. Sorry JK, the drunks at Boldsport don't know what they are talking about.”

Izzy Worthette:

“Thank you both for those fascinating and highly professional insights into the world of elite football, we all look forward to more where that came from. We move now to the exciting bit of the evening when we begin to whittle down our candidates towards the prizes. First, I’m proud to present the Galacticos Index Team of The Cycle sponsored by the highly sought-after watch maker Schu-Tallinger of Reselia. “For that Galactico XI? We’d be talking astronomical prices, Izzy. Every one of those players is going to fetch more than the top price paid this time around - that was a cool 45 million bones for some fella I never heard of - they must be rolling in it, those oil-barons and oligarchs of Taeshan, more cash than sense. If they’re going to spend big, I’d want to be in there with my stable of players, for sure. Anyway, I think prices for the band of eleven would go something like one and a half times the top dollar price; you’re looking 52 million readies minimum for any of these eleven, I’m sure of it. Assuming they don't make the shortlist - then watch the prices rise...”

Kirtland Straw:

“That's a team to play anyone off the park, right there. Strong Schottic presence which is hardly surprising from the multiverse's top ranked nation - they're a bit behind in club football but Handon United reaching the Champions Cup final tells you all you need to know about their league, catching up fast with the big leagues. As my colleague mentioned earlier plenty of experience in there this time with seven of the eleven on the wrong side of twenty nine... but nice to see Galactico '66 winner Adnan Szalai back among the stars, and he doesn't seemed to have aged a day, either."

Izzy Worthette:

No surprise we have a World Cup winner in there but they are all winners really. Well, except for Sterling Rose, I guess. Difficult to pick a winner from this fine stable and it will be difficult to separate them from their club stables too - inflation for these six on the Galacticos Shortlist means we’ll be talking silly money here - one and a half times the astronomical prices we were talking about before. Don’t expect to land any of these diamonds for less than 79 million nicker.”

Izzy Worthette:

“All this talk of veterans has almost made me forget there are kids in the room too - let’s move on to the Boldsport Young Player of the Cycle, sponsored by NomNom world famous confectioners - because sometimes, sour sugar is good for you. With a number of young players competing right at the top of the sport already, this was a difficult and tightly-contested affair. For those who are interested, there was method to this madness. Taking top 20 UICA teams, top 10 national teams, loads of searches, marking down RP comments, looking at transfers, and coming to some form of RP bonus scoring led to the result you see here. Not very scientific but based on what I could see and read. The lesson for future galacticos: get a move to a top UICA club that does a lot of newswire posts… other nations RPing about your stars counts double… try to win the world cup if you can. The count begins again about now.

One would have thought with their winnings and their history that CAP would have been able to land the few transfer targets that they had during the summer as they prepare for the onslaught of trying to retain their titles while being in the ICCs. However in all three attempts that The Hurricane had in an attempt to bolster their squad, they found themselves spurned by the player that they were in pursuit of. This likely means that Cosumarite striker Ragnar Targaryen will have to see the bulk of the action at the top for CAP and they will have to hope that his form does not falter nor does he suffer from fatigue. Compare that with Tani who were able to land nearly all their transfer targets including what those in Stein-los believe will be the biggest difference maker for them this season in the form of Valladares national team goalkeeper Michael Armand. Tani got younger and deeper and it should be no big surprise should they find their way back to the top of the table and steal it away from CAP, given their rivals relative lack of depth and the amount of fixtures both are bound to have over the course of the season.

Another club that will be singing the transfer window blues will be Lunas FC who were outright rejected in several bids and could not bring the players to the tables in those that were accepted. Ultimately they were forced to find a pair of Eastfielders on frees in hopes of bolstering their side in a hope of a top ten finish and maybe even sneaking into the UICA places this season, though there are quite a few clubs who are in contention for that top 5 finish. The Spartans quietly sured up their aging backline and look good for another top 5 finish, it is truly remarkable what Tobias Möller and the investment in the club by the board of directors nearly a decade ago did to this once obscure club. It just goes to show you that if a club if dedicated to bettering itself from the bottom to the top, from academy product to the owner, then what is possible is truly anything. However you can not substitute will for skill on all occasions or even history, which is something Baskita has and though they are starting three under 21 players on their backline, they should still be around the fifth position comes seasons end.

At the other end, while I hate to say it, I think both SC Troubalose and Aleine United will be taking the drop right back down to the SuperLiga 2, as they did not strengthen their squads over the window. Tyrysier somehow convinced a trio of Nepharim to come to Troubalose though and that could very well be the difference for them at the end of the season, though that likely means one of Fetherdron United, Sardin United, or Riis is likely taking the drop in their place. Both the battle for the title and against relegation should be intriguing in the upcoming season, as one can also never take their eyes off of Stein-los as both Turkish and the Dressors have a way of churning out results and getting to the top. Turkish may just have the inside track though with their young Chromatik winger they brought in towards the end of the window, though reports coming from Albrecht Road suggests she is more likely to be a bench player this season. All the same, the season is nearly upon us, as CAP and Tani will begin it in earnest next week in Torgos in the Copa Real, and from there the battles for the title, the icc, and fighting off relegation will begin in earnest.

Those who laugh last laugh the loudest and the Hurricane will be laughing quite loud after them and Tani met in San Daros on the final day to decide where the title would go. Entering into the final match, Tani was up three points but CAP had the better goal difference, so a defeat for Tani would see CAP take the title from the Stein-los giants. It was not the man of the season in Ragnar Targaryen that would lead the way though, nor the Valladar star of Abel Brücke, but local lad Jörg Feierabend who would net the goal off a superb free kick that would win the match and the title for the Hurricane. Tani will feel hard done by, having bossed the match and having won more games than CAP, but they ultimately fall short, despite lifting the Copa Real against CAP to open up the season. For The Hurricane, they will have to thank their superb attacking talent and star in Ragnar Targaryen who lead them to the title, with the Cosumarite striker netting over thirty goals in the league and over forty if you count the cup and ICCs. It was a season of greatness for the former prospect and he will have proven the board wrong in thinking they needed a better striker during the summer window.

It was not the only trophy though for CA Paulinthal, as they faced off against their hated cross town rivals in Santos Luega in the Copa de la Luna Final and absolutely smashed their rivals in order to retain the cup and do the domestic double for back to back seasons. It was a Copa for the big guns, with all the semfinalists coming from the top ten of the table and it is a bit sad to see those underdog stories being cut down. However when you examine the gulf in talent between even just the top of the table to the midtable, much less those in the lower divisions, you can hardly be surprised that the best teams are the ones that made it that far. Their win however means that Duke of the North, who despite no signs of this coming at all and rose to fifth in the table will be in the Globe Cup next season. Titanderth found the extra fixtures at the start of the season to be exhausting and were very fortunate to even survive this season after being fifth last season, while Baskita and Hellinic Rouge did what they do and were solidly in the top 4 for their spots in the Globe Cup.

The shocker then is that Riis falls victim to the drop, as does Mytos-Turin in their second season in the SuperLiga despite that initial season of success, while SC Troubalose somehow is in the midtable while Tyrysier predictably were in the midtable after their series of acquisitions leading up to the season's start. Not surprising is just how dominant Stilinkeep and Paulinthal were in the second tier as both teams completely were superior to all of their competition and easily earned their way back into the top flight while FC Belja somehow won the playoff after selling off their foreign players during the window. It is a bit of a confusing move but it will mean that one of the largest stadiums in Pasarga will have a season in the top tier and that alone is definitely worth seeing Belja back in the topflight, though you have to wonder if the SBCC will be a hinderance for the side as their roster right now does not look good enough to stay up and those extra fixtures do seem to take a toll on the players. All eight squads in the ICCs will likely need to bolster depth, though Tani is perhaps in the best position to weather the storm, while CAP will be hunting for glory after coming so close in both the Copa de Campeones and Cygnus Cup this season, Finalists and Quarterfinalists respectively. Can this be the season that Pasargan clubs finally take that next step or will they continue to just be a middling league in the grand scheme of things?

Champions Cup 69 : Stade de Torgos (90,000), Torgos - The crown jewel of Pasargan footballing stadium, it is both the national stadium and the stadium of the club side Galatica. It was built to be a monument to the prowess that the Pasargan people can achieve whenever they put their minds to it and show the rest of the footballing community that they belong. Located in the heart of the capital, it is easy to reach from anywhere within the city and the noise created inside the stadium has been known to shake surrounding buildings whenever the Wanderers are playing. Recently renovated to bring the amenities up to the modern standard, with an integrated wireless network within the stadium.

Yuezhou Premier League, Season 2 - PREVIEW


Beian City - Despite the loss of Fan Xiaopeng, who has gone abroad to Cosumar, the reigning champions look as dangerous as ever. Wen Xilie enters his sixth year with City with three championships under his belt, and the additions of star young wingback Lin Wangming and Xihaishi’s Xie Xueyi will make this team even more dangerous. Don’t be surprised if they repeat. Manager - Wen Xilie (54), Formation - 3-4-3, Star Player - Han Ruoyang (CB, 30), Predicted Finish: First.

Nangang Royals - Wei Haidong in goal and Zhang Zhenya controlling the midfield will have any team competing for the title. But Royals haven’t done much to back it up, and with no real young talent on the horizon, they could be in some serious long-term trouble. Kang Guilin is a tactical mastermind, but the board hasn’t exactly given him much to work with, notably refusing to sign a player Kang had already gotten to commit to the Royals. With Beian miles ahead of them, dark times could be coming soon in Nangang. Manager - Kang Guilin (50), Formation - 4-2-3-1, Star Player - Zhang Zhenya (CM, 29), Predicted Finish: Fourth.

Olympic Nangang - Olympic Nangang don’t have a lot of star players, but what they do have is a very strong young core and a lot of cash available to augment it (which includes Wang Wuying’s surprise move from Beian Athletic). What else do they have? An incredible young manager in Chen Lei and a beautiful, free-flowing style of football. They might not be ready to win the title yet, but they’re definitely going to turn heads. Manager - Chen Lei (46), Formation - 4-3-1-2, Star Player - Quan Zedong (CAM, 25), Predicted Finish: Second.

Yincheng Capitals - The capital club have taken a step backwards after a solid season. Despite manager Ma Yong’s attempts to keep him, star striker Fu Xi has gone abroad to Buyan, and his replacements aren’t exactly inspiring. As a result, the Capitals will have to find other ways to win games - but Fu's departure came late enough in the transfer window such that Ma Yong may not be able to recover in time. Manager - Ma Yong (48), Formation - 4-3-3, Star Player - Wu Zhen (GK, 21), Predicted Finish: Fifth.

Beian Athletic - Beian have been flying under the radar a little in recent years, but they’ve quietly become one of the best defensive teams in the league, with enough skill on the attack to win games too. Known for playing out from a very talented back four - including national-team reserve Deng Songan - with talented attackers like Ren Delan to capitalize, Athletic should do very well this year. Manager - Qiu Hanying (52), Formation - 4-3-3, Star Player - Ren Delan (ST, 29), Predicted Finish: Third.

Xihaishi - Xihaishi are coming off a sixth-place finish, their best league finish since the YPL began, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to replicate it - especially not with pacy winger Xie Xueyi headed to Beian after an expensive transfer and with legendary manager Wu Tailong retiring. Llamanean Michael Leonard, the only foreign manager in the YPL, has a monumental task ahead of him - appeasing a board and fanbase expecting improvement on last season’s finish. Is he up for it?...honestly, probably not. Manager - Michael Leonard (45), Formation - 4-2-3-1, Star Player - Ge Nanwei (CM, 26), Predicted Finish: Eleventh.

Mükiazhou Athletic - Mükiazhou doesn’t get a lot of attention these days in the footballing world, but the western Yuezhou-based side has quietly improved a squad that already finished a solid eighth place last season. Jiawei Sangu is nothing short of clinical in the YPL, but the signing of false-nine Wu Zhen will make an already solid attack even better. This side of Sangauese underdogs, led by mastermind and expert motivator Wan Xifeng, definitely has the chance to make a splash this season. Manager - Wan Xifeng (53), Formation - 4-5-1, Star Player - Jiawei Sangu (ST, 32), Predicted Finish: Sixth.

Mükiachou Revolutionaries - The Revolutionaries won’t exactly miss mercurial midfielder Wen Xiaoli, but they...probably should, as the Lotus Park purchase was a huge part of their team that they basically haven’t replaced. Manager Wei Delan will seriously struggle to find goals this season, and has anticipated this by signing a few new defenders and moving to a 4-5-1 (more of a 9-0-1 at times) formation. But will it be enough? Manager - Wei Delan (60), Formation - 4-5-1, Star Player - Zhaxi Nanlei (RB, 27), Predicted Finish: Thirteenth.

Beiyun Stars - Since their inception, Beiyun have played negative, defensive football - often barely avoiding relegation. That all changed last year, when the hiring of new, exciting manager Guo Xilai and the rise of young stars Wu Zhen and Lin Wangming led them to the heady heights of midtable! But Wu and Lin are both gone now, leaving Guo to work his magic on a diminished squad and a shoestring budget. He’s done enough to stay up this season - but the window might’ve seriously crippled them in the long run. Manager - Guo Xilai (45), Formation - 4-3-3, Star Player - Hu Zheng (CB, 30), Predicted Finish: Twelfth.

FC Shanbei - FC Shanbei are...actually exciting now? Lin Jiawei’s counterattacking football isn’t the prettiest, but the likes of midfielder Hong Guilin and classy winger Gu Yang (both Red Dragons) will ensure that it works. The central-Yue-based team have a lot of chemistry and a dynamic young core that will ensure that they overachieve this season. Manager - Lin Jiawei (46), Formation - 4-4-2, Star Player - Gu Yang (RW, 28), Predicted Finish: Seventh.

Xinhai FC - Xinhai have been kicking around lower midtable for a while now, and there’s little indication that things will change under Li Wei’s defensive style of managing. A strike force with a combined age of 67 isn’t exactly encouraging, and despite the obvious talent of Tan Ming, there’s only so much a center-back can contribute to the attack. Expect them to do the same thing they always do. Manager - Li Wei (51), Formation - 4-4-2, Star Player - Tan Ming (CB, 28), Predicted Finish: Ninth.

SC Jiangdong - Despite “SCJ”’s history as one of the largest clubs in central Yuezhou, Jiangdong have fallen upon hard times lately, barely avoiding relegation to the second tier last season. But there’s reason to believe that things are looking up for Zhang Pingan’s work in progress. The young manager has already constructed a solid defense led by young talent Jin Guiyu, but the goals just didn’t come last season - although the debut of teenage striker Wei Gaolin will probably change that. Manager - Zhang Pingan (43), Formation - 3-5-2, Star Player - Jin Guiyu (CB, 25), Predicted Finish: Eighth.

Dynamo Dalian - Nobody expected Wang Wen, a former defender whose career was cut short by injury, to do much of anything in his first year in the Silver League with Dynamo. But clearly something worked, because Dalian conceded just eleven goals in twenty-eight matches to win the league and find themselves in the top flight. The defense, led by Ma Jianke, is genuinely unbreakable, even in the top flight, and should get them a lot of points this year. There’s just one issue stopping them from seriously challenging for upper midtable - they can’t score. Manager - Wang Wen (34), Formation - 4-3-3, Star Player - Ma Jianke (LB, 26), Predicted Finish: Tenth.

Beian Rovers - In stark contrast to Dynamo, the Rovers bludgeoned their way through the Silver League last season, scoring fifty-six goals while conceding twenty-six. Manager Zheng Jian was expected to play more defensively upon reaching Yuezhou’s highest division, but there’s no indication he plans to do so. This might be a grave mistake - despite Rovers’ attacking talent, they’ll seriously struggle to get past the top defenses in the league. And they have virtually no defense in Zheng’s 4-2-4 formation, meaning that the drop to the bottom of the table could be swift and brutal if they can’t perform. Manager - Zheng Jian (46), Formation - 4-2-4, Star Player - Wei Jiabin (CM, 24), Predicted Finish: Fourteenth.

Team Info It was a great campaign from 1093 Club de Atlantea that ultimately ended with them lifting the Premier League Champions trophy for the first time in team history. With young striker Karl Kahn on form at the end of the season a weak overall premier league the Cardinal were able to lift the trophy as the third side from the capitol city to win the trophy. With most of their team intact coming into the next season it seems likely that they could use their impressive campaign to push into a second possible trophy. The only changes involve a new midfield pairing, but with the rest of the team now champions it seems likely that they could push at for another Champions’ Cup appearance.

Team Info The original Atlantea Champions have seen a resurgence in recent years including their seventh place finish in the last season. Team Info Another less than stellar performing former champion the Phoenix haven’t really competed for championships in almost 30 seasons and that is evident in their current roster. With only two national team players the team does not exactly have the output they once have. While recently better than their big rivals, Atlantea Hurricanes, the team continues to not have the edge to their game you expect from five time champions. That said there is hope in the youth academy and the team thinks they can work to push for top 5 consistently.

Team Info Another big team in the middle years of the premier league Bayern-Algaer actually has won the league recently though. The team as a whole is a lot stronger than many of the other former champions and with Elton Petersheim still around they have a lot of hope for the future. That said National team Vice-Captain Janson Jewsbury was lured by a big money offer to Laketown who have seemingly pulled out all the stops to become champions again. With that news the team suddenly went from contending, to looking for answers. That is crazy to consider they finished 2nd only two years ago and just outside a Globe Cup spot last season.

Team Info If there is one team in the league that filed their intent to win the league early in the offseason it was Laketown Rangers who made the biggest two splashes in the transfer window. Atlantea Coliseum is the home of the Taeshan Premier League's Atlantea Hurricanes. The stadium has seen 13 Premier League winning sides lift a trophy, and is the most famous stadium in Taeshan, and a regarded stadium around the Nationstates universe. It has hosted both a Copa Rushmori, and a Cup of Harmony final, and perhaps most notably hosted the 6th Champions' Cup final as CS Ourseville 1093 defeated Yuba United 1-0. Notably this game also led to the founding of recent premier league champions 1093 Club de Atlantea, in honor of the winners of the tournament. The stadium is noted throughout the world not only for its capacity, but also its history. A hallowed ground throughout the world, and one of the earliest hosts of a Champions' Cup the stadium has seen better days but a recent revitalization has many hoping it can return to its former glory with a new international tournament final to host.

Mareibat Premier - Preview


Well, Mareibat's one year flirtation with the big boys didn't last long - once again, as with the A-League, money or the lack of it was the cause of all the trouble. Halholzer United - a good strong club which could fit well into the top tier of most other nations is begrudgingly part of this season and is widely expected to dominate. Roger O'Connor is the manager, and the former Halholzer United winger has taken the team back to their ultra-defensive roots, lining up with the unusual 5-1-3-1 formation as the team looks to choke all other teams out of games before hitting them hard on the break.

Bellight FC 1–0 Halholzer United - Matchday 8
One of the pivotal games of the season was surely Bellight's brave win over Halholzer United. Bellight had had a fairly poor start to the season, and were in seventh at this point, while Halholzer hadn't been living up to their hype and were in fourth behind the unlikely trio of Cape of Hope FC, Pilgrimage and FC Euclid. In front of a packed out home crowd at the Crop of Rock Stadium, Bellight defended belligerently from the off, Vina O'Hara setting her side up in more defensive than usual way to prevent the attacks of Halholzer. Despite Yorin Voeller coming close three times in the first half, it was Richard Armada who scored the only goal of the game just before half-time, giving Bellight a strong victory to propel their season back in the right direction.

Cape of Hope FC 3–1 Pilgrimage - Matchday 12
With nearly half of the season done, Cape of Hope recorded a massive win over second placed Pilgrimage, to put themselves four points clear at the top, and crucially - seven points ahead of Halholzer United with a game in hand. With their 3-4-3 formation, Cape of Hope had been able to blow away teams while the fluidity in the formation set up by manager Jasper Redmond allowed them to defend significantly better than many of the teams expected to be around their skill level. Jason Bamford had been on electric form all season, and he scored twice in this game to take his scoring record above one a game.

Bellight FC 3–1 Cape of Hope FC - Matchday 18
This game could perhaps be the moment where it all started to go a bit wrong for Cape of Hope, as a resurgent Bellight FC side came from 1-0 down at half time to win 3-1, thanks to the defensive strength of Thorgen Lillehammer in goal and the relationship between Richard Armada up front and Geena Opendale just behind him in the creative midfielder role. This result sees Halholzer United - who have won their last four and haven't conceded in six since Cape of Hope's victory over them just four points behind the Cape and Bellight only five point behind themselves.

Bellight FC 0–4 Harmonica Tundra - Matchday 22
With a few games to go and Halholzer United, who hadn't lost since the tenth matchday swooping in for the title, the race at this point turns to the UICA spots. Cape of Hope look vunerable and so this match could really determine which team finishes second come the end of the season, provided they can haul in Cape of Hope. The match, pretty much from kick-off onwards, is directed one way, and that is in Harmonica Tundra's direction, and they put three past Bellight in the first half before adding to their total in the second. Bellight are strong in attack, but on this occasion, it is Alastair Crumplehorn rather than Thorgen Lillehammer who comes out as the better keeper.
