ELFA League Season 3

Well, the whole league structure is revamped to now have five divisions, 3 of 20 teams each, 1 of 28 and 1 of 40. Yes, 40. Anyways, there haven't been many international transfers, but here goes:

Hos Dos from Peepleton (Toiletdonia) to Seniors FC
Paul Brown and Andrew Yorke from Skyte City (QPeMA) to St. Bartholomews Wanderers
Ronnie Hendry from Almondvale (QPeMA) to St. Bartholomews Wanderers

And dismissing the Dylan Bell scandal in Toiletdonia, RGS Athletic are keen to be rid of him for a tidy fee of upwards of $40 million.

UICA-wise, it was a better performance overall. NT United lost out 2-1 to Hartford United of Tentalon, drawing the first leg 1-1 at home, but losing 1-0 away. VLC FC didn't do a lot better, losing 1-0 at home and then 2-1 away to Trothwands Evolution. And so both of our TQCC teams were knocked out straight away. In the SBCC, Macaronia FC won on away goals against Xegei of Zarbli, winning 3-0 at home before losing 4-1 away. Indionion Athletic also won on away goal drawing 2-2 away before getting a goalless home draw against Cliff of Tentalon. FC Tavernia were the only outright victors, winning 3-2 at home and then 3-0 away against Irka FK of Somewhereistonia. Onto the second round they went, and Secret Services joined in, only to be knocked out Red Devils FC of The Babbage Islands, 2-2 at home and then a 2-1 loss away. Macaronia FC were knocked out on away goals, winning 2-1 at home before losing 1-0 away, and away goals were harsh, but the way the results were posted implied that Macaronia FC had their away match first, winning 2-1 and then losing 1-0 at home, so they should have gone through instead of Folenisa of Liventia. Indionion Athletic were annihilated 6-0 by Fenians Sporting Club of Sorthern Northland, 4-0 at home and then 2-0 away. FC Tavernia were beaten 6-4 by SpVgg Tolzerio of Capitalizt SLANI, losing 4-0 away but leading 4-0 at home with ten minutes left, and they scored two goals, bringing the score to 6-4. And there was the end of the SBCC. Onto the Globe Cup now, and you'd think we'd have a chance, with five participants, of getting some real progress. But not for Norrion Rovers, who were knocked out by Burnaby SC of Kelssek 5-4, losing 3-2 at home and then drawing 2-2 away. NT United were comprehensively beaten 4-0 at home by Naquada Falls Demons of Jasĭyun, losing 3-1 away on top. VLC FC lost 3-0 in both legs, away then home against Clube Comercial of Cafundeu, so not a good experience. St. Bartholomews Wanderers lost 3-2 to Bloomfield National of The Babbage Islands, losing 2-1 away then drawing 1-1 at home. RGS Athletic drew Casuals Osteria of Krytenia 0-0 at home, before losing 2-0 away. And that ends the round-up of the UICA competitions.

Taeshani club denied UICA license
Taeshan Soccer Federation (TSF) club TakilQuip United will not be admitted to Cygnus Series B Champions’ Cup 20, after UICA’s Licensing Oversight Committee (ULOC) overruled the decision of the TSF’s licensing authority to grant the club a UICA license. The decision results from the ongoing legal action by TakilQuip, a long-standing UICA Partner, which alleges that the club has made unauthorized use of the “TakilQuip” mark.

“Event or condition of major economic importance”
Clubs are required by the UICA Club Licensing Regulations to report “events or conditions of major economic importance” to the licensor—i.e., their respective UICA member association—if such an event or condition occurs after submitting the club’s financial records and would adversely affect the club’s ability to meet the licensing criteria. In the opinion of the ULOC, after considering evidence submitted by TakilQuip, the current status of TakilQuip’s case (pending a hearing before an Arbipana judge) against the club poses a serious threat to the club’s financial health, either directly due to damages payable if it loses the case, or indirectly due to a potential inability to travel to Paripana during the course of UICA competition. TakilQuip United failed to inform the TSF’s licensing authority of this situation, and the licensing authority could face sanctions, yet to be determined, for approving the club’s clearly improper license application.

Taeshani qualifiers
After auditing the remainder of the TSF’s licensees for the upcoming season of UICA competition, all except TakilQuip United’s were determined to be in order, meaning that three of the four entrants in Cygnus Series B Champions’ Cup 20 will certainly be allowed to participate. The TSF is permitted to fill its fourth place in the competition with another club, according to its own qualification criteria, or may leave the place vacant. Alternatively, TakilQuip United has the option to appeal the ULOC’s ruling, but a frivolous appeal would carry additional sanctions.

About club licensing
The club licensing system has been an integral part of the TakilQuip Champions’ Cup and its associated competitions since their foundation. The licensing system serves both as a means to identify football clubs without reference to the myriad corporate structures present in UICA’s member associations, and to ensure that all of the world’s top clubs are held to certain standards regarding finances, youth development, management, stadia, and other matters. Licenses are issued by UICA’s member associations according to criteria set by the ULOC, and the ULOC has the power to grant exemptions to specific criteria when they present an unreasonable demand on particular clubs or associations.

(OOC: Appropriating the name of one of my companies without permission and using it to enter a competition I run is really not a good idea…unless you want me to RP more, in which case it apparently is a really good idea :P)

With respect due to certain parties the TSF officially withdraws TakilQuip United as per the request of the liscensing committee. The TSF and TakilQuip's owner Adam Takil would like to say sorry to certain ownership members of TakilQuip as per the naming of the team in honor of the aforementioned company. The TSF will replace the team in the SBCC with SK Ojian the next 3rd Division team in line.

Woodstock Wild manager Kendall Bryant normally would respect timing.

After all, most Sarzonian Football Confederation clubs knew to cede the spotlight to the national team before the World Cup began. There was a tacit agreement that teams wouldn't announce major acquisitions -- or attempts at acquisitions.

However, this couldn't wait. Bryant decided this a long time ago, after discussing the particulars of the Capital Cup with Catherina FC and watching Delaclava's football league. The shockwaves it would send throughout the Sarzonian football community were justification enough. The expected reaction it would get in Delaclava would also be worth their while.

And, besides, the old man would have to get over it for this one.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the press," Bryant said. "I'm here to announce that we have extended a $15 million transfer offer to Cavalry in the Delaclav league for the services of goalkeeper Thomas Nolan. We intend for him to compete for the starting job with Kelvin Russell and become the full-time starter when Kelvin retires as a player after this season.

"I'm not taking any questions," he said, standing up and walking out, completely ignoring the calls from media outlets from both countries as he walked back to the safety of his office.

* RGS Athletic 'B' denied a playoff place due to 'B' Team status.

It's a swift return to the DPD for the top three, and it could be all four, as Seaton Athletic were given a playoff place after RGS Athletic 'B' were denied. But for Cillin Valley and VLC FC 'B', it's a swift return to the third tier, along with Klosertun Town and Bluin Athletic. Seniors FC just avoid the drop.

We live in distrustful times. Only the present is accessible to us; can we even be sure of the past? If we're Deportivo Peralta, no we can't--turns out they didn't win that one, rather meaningless, trophy back in the day. Moreover, turns out that the second tiebreaker that's only sometimes the first tiebreaker had to be used to break it. Makes you grateful for shiny exciting table generators, doesn't it? Anyway, the repossession could have been a bit awkward. Luckily, it appears as if the trophy was inadvertently melted down some time ago. So nothing to worry about, woo.

So how about some nice, normal, UICA-style...

International competition
Unión de Ciudagua's goals inch ever upward. No longer content even at being the best team in the city (which is not, to be fair, proving a very difficult challenge at the moment), they started things off by defeating Medoria Löwen while San Pablo's four-goal game proved insufficient to overcome Coastal County and FC Nacional went out on away goals. Soon enough, though, Unión lost to Albrecht Turkish, but Ojedo Cerro and CSD Trecelunas both put up five-goal wins.

Piratas de Grisolon lost to Real Santa Catalina, whose local language almost, but not quite, makes their name tolerable. Mapabore Juventud topped their TQCC group, while Trecelunas FC treated (possibly) Noka fans to a 4-3 home victory before (or after) sneaking back home to draw scorelessly. Which, to be fair, is a little dull even for them, but both sides took nine points to go through. Their neighbors, meanwhile may have pleased some vindictive Nethertopians by beating Eintracht Maastricht, but didn't do a whole lot else. Ojedo Cerro qualified, though.

While Mort Park proved too challenging even for the Pulmonologists to cure, Unión de Ciudagua wound up on top of group F in the Globe Cup. Deportivo Peralta enjoyed a 4-3 win against Burningham City (literally?) but the latter's goal differential proved superior.

Trecelunas were rocked by Raynor City, while Mapabore beat one Ad’ihani side only to lose to another. Ojedo Cerro were shut out in the first knockout round of the SBCC, as were Unión de Ciudagua in the Globe Cup...but so were Ciudad Soluca, for the first 180 minutes anyway. Wonderkid Javíer Pozo would break the deadlock in the 187th, and although Ramiro Asis tried to restore it, the away goals rule meant it was really only a...livelock?

Whatever. We seem to have inspired the Valladar Super League to takilan-conspiratorial tiebreakers, and that, in the end, is what counts.

In other international transaction...

Chago Villalobos -> Clube Comercial
Chale Cobarrubias -> Pythons
Alex Baxter -> Unión de Ciudagua

Arcrés Millos 2 7 9 23 32 -9 13
12 de noviembre 2 7 9 21 32 -11 13

Deportivo Peralta took the opportunity once again to inspire us to somewhat-more-automated record keeping (home and away errors, guys? Really?) The season being actually eighteen games long, now, they could have even gone 8-10-0 if they wanted, just to stick it to us.

They didn't.

And it was Unión de Ciudagua who did the next best thing, losing 1-2 at home to Piratas de Grisolon and no other time. Gerardo Riquelme bloomed late, Alex Baxter (not Bazter. Certainly not Bazter. Although the fact that we need to have this conversation...well...never mind) joined in, and Asis secured draws that actually helped out.

In second once more come Estudiantes de Íguen--the only team to win five games at home. Granted, home-field advantage didn't really happen this season; six of Trecelunas FC's seven wins came on the road, as did five of Mapabore's. Well, I mean, they each won their road games at the other stadium, but it was a road game for them...But yeah, Deportivo and Grisolon were both better on the road as well. The teams tied on 27 considered asking higher-ups to deny Íguen a UICA license on the grounds (this is not an intentional pun, I haven't adopted that much jargon) that Estadio Gavaje does not meet certain stadia standards, but this didn't happen, and honestly, it works out so nicely this way. Hooray for actually sending the maximum, without really needing tiebreakers, until the rules and/or our rank change significantly!

Speaking of ties, Arcrés Millos and 12 de noviembre look set to battle for survival. Should be fun. If you like that kind of thing.

Lobernians 4 7 7 24 28 -4 19
FC Nacional 2 5 11 19 30 -11 11

Ojedo Cerro are still pretty good. Except when they're not, like, when they're visiting the teams that just got promoted.

Blén CA are actually decent too, or at least fake it, and so will be joining them in the SBCC. Alongside CA Condadore, and CD Quemavilla, who...have a negative goal differential. And yet won more games than Blén. Hmm.

Bit of gridlock down below, though none so dismal as FC Nacional, who are to methodical and accurate of tallying goal differential what their neighbors are to similar tallying of record. Could have used extra goals, really.

TQCC bid: Estadio Aramis Peralta, Ciudad Peralta (68,000) Didn't see this one coming, eh?
SBCC bid: Centro Deportivo Nacional, Blén (33,000) A little huge for the third division. But now it's back in the second division, so that's all good.
SBCC sponsorship bid: Paridos (italicized Magneto font, if possible)

And so we move onward. If we can't trust the past, we really can't trust the future, but perhaps the corrected tables were harbingers of forthcoming change. Perhaps this is the end of an era.

...If so, it would most probably be replaced by a cooler and sleeker era. Stay tuned.

QPMAFA Announcement

Today the football association of Queer Poco el Mono Ara has announced the induction of a new league for the professional female players of Queer Poco el Mono Ara. With league chiefs and team bosses unwilling to budge on the issue of men and women playing alongside one another, the FA has concluded that a separate league must be established for women.

Beginning and running parallel from season 8 of the Una Serie, the Valentía Premier League will offer female footballers in Queer Poco el Mono Ara the chance to play professionally.

It has also been announced that the owners of the 12 league teams are currently scouting for the top female talent from the multiverse to appear in the league.

The woman behind the movement for professional football in Queer Poco el Mono Ara for women, Delia Watson commented "This is a great day for women in Queer Poco. Hopefully with the addition of some of the best female players from around the World we can make this league a huge success as a competitive league and a spectacle for the spectators."

The Chairman of the F.A, when pushed for comment stated "Think of the potential for merchandise! Plus if they all play in bikini tops that'd be grand."

His comments were however criticized by Ms. Watson. "These women are not here to be objectified like models in a men's magazine. They are professional athletes and should be given the same amount of respect as the male, elven and ursine players."

Official Statement
Incorporated Sarzonian Government

Department of Health and Athletics

The Incorporated Sarzonian Government congratulates the Poconese people in their establishment of a new women's football league in Queer Poco el Mono Ara. The league president of the Sarzonian Football League, our own top-flight women's professional football league, applauds this increase in opportunities for women to play professional sport.

We also note that women are fully able to and often do try out for our top flight men's professional league. To date, only midfielder Jenna Raven has ever suited up for a men's team. However, our leagues are all compliant with federal legislation prohibiting discrimination based on race, colour, gender, creed, national origin or sexual orientation and identity. We hope that one day, the Poconese leagues will all do the same.

The Commander's League

The third edition of the Commander’s League looks to be just as exciting as the previous two, with the level of play constantly getting better with each season. Royale even made it to the third preliminary round of the TQCC. As the defending champions, Royale will try to defend their title, but clubs such as Mariners, Mertag, and Coranto look to knock Royale off their pedestal. We believe that the small league system creates an increased familiarity with the teams in the league, thus generating more interest in the competition. So, sit back and enjoy the quality of the finest football in Tyrrin!

Due to the schedule of World Cup 51, the expansion of the league to sixteen or more teams has been delayed. League officials had hoped to be able to bring in and send out more talent through the World Cup, but instead will have to wait until the next season.

The season schedule dictates that each team plays each other twice. Each team plays teams in its division four times. North Division includes Royale, Foresters, Raiders, and Icebirds. South Division includes Mertag FC, Coranto FC, Mariners, and Sultan.

Tyrrin Royale
Colors: Red and White
Stadium: Remembrance Park (70,000), Tyrrin
Manager: Leon Agapito (4th season)
Overview: After regaining the Commander’s League title last season, Royale have only gotten better. They added Aaron Wilkshire to shore up their aging midfield, which was their weakness last season. Their also made a huge deal in signing Markus Klogh from Burchadinger. Klogh is one of the most prolific strikers around, and will definitely be near the leaders in goal scoring this season.
Stars: Aaron Williamson (Krytenia), Alan Fionnlagh (C), Matt Chauvin (Babbage Islands), Jody McMicheal (Taeshan), Faraq Aziz(QPeMA), Howard Hyde (Kalasion), Markus Klogh (Burchadinger), Aaron Wilkshire (QPeMA)
Strengths: How about everything? Every position is occupied by very good foreign talent or national team quality Tyrrinians. Heck, Alasdair Savas is on the bench. Klogh looks to be their best player, but Chauvin on the back line is also very skilled.
Weaknesses: At this point, Royale’s only weakness could be overconfidence. Agapito will have to get these very diverse players to work together well. This could be the true test of his managerial skills, and if he passes this, we may see him as head of the national team.
Expectations: Royale should definitely win the Cup and the League this season. If they don’t, fans and pundits alike will be shocked, and something will have seriously gone wrong. This team could be back to being as good as they were during the Michael Willem days.

Foresters
Colors: Green and Brown
Stadium: The Canoparium (34,000), Kowa
Manager: Adrien Bertil (3rd Season)
Overview: Foresters finally emerged from the basement of the league last season, coming in sixth on a late run, aided by the collapse of several other teams. They didn’t change at all in the off season, but they are sticking with Bertil as manager. Their defense looks to continue to be the bright spot of the team.
Stars: Wilson Tolley (Eastern Volleyball) (C), Marty Ruaridh, Levi Abdul-Hamid, Marra o Eastdale (Bears Armed)
Strengths: As mentioned before, defense is the strong point for Foresters. It contains two members of the national team, as well as a sentient bear, so the reason for their success is obvious. Wilson Tolley is an underrated midfielder stuck on a bad team.
Weaknesses: When will Foresters decide to land better strikers? Warrick and Ampellio are the worst in the nation, and Bertil can’t complain about trying to develop their young talent now that they are both thirty. Goalkeeping is another constant struggle that makes their defense look worse than they actually are.
Expectations: It’s the bottom half of the league for Foresters again this year, and possibly back to last place. The lack of off season moves will hurt them big time, as their weaknesses become more noticeable.

Mertag FC
Colors: Purple and White
Stadium: Muon Stadium (58,000), Mertag
Manager: Adam Rhisiart (8th Season)
Overview: Mertag finished second in the league again last year, proving that the first time wasn’t a fluke. Along the way, Rodrigo manage to pick up the MVP award. This team is trying to get what Royale has without shelling out for foreign talent. This approach is making them less of a dark horse every season, and more of a contender.
Stars: Deandre Rodrigo (C), Tiger Baptista, Ainsley Emir, Bryan Dane (Kalasion), John Graham (Kalasion), Frank Jalasek (Kalasion)
Strengths: Rodrigo is the star of this team, and hopes to leave his mark on the national team as well. Baptista failed to get the national team nod, but he and Jalasek will continue to play good defense in front of Emir. The Kalasion players should prove to be the difference for Mertag, as they are constantly underestimated.
Weaknesses: Their lack of a star forward might hurt them in big games, and along with their overall lack of experience, this team might struggle when playing clubs like Oclia, whom they have to face four times.
Expectations: They are really up in the air. Mertag might completely bomb, or they could pull a huge upset over Royale and win the league. Only time will tell (or perhaps another spoiler club).

Sultan
Colors: Black and Yellow
Stadium: Redgold Oil Dome (55,000), Racaw
Manager: Kamal Ziyad (19th Season)
Overview: After an excellent start to last season, Sultan went through one of the worst fallouts in league history. Their offense inexplicably fell apart, and when the offense goes, there isn’t anything left, as Ziyad doesn’t believe in defense. Sultan decided to stick with Ziyad still, as his brother owns the team, but they are not without hope. They signed their first international player, Giuseppe Joliano, the star player out of Unitopolis.
Stars: Chase Koit, Arcady Vincenzo (C), Kiran Sipho, Giuseppe Joliano (Unitopolis)
Strengths: The Sultan midfield looks to be one of the best in the league, which is saying a lot. Vincenzo is now on the national team, and he pairs up nicely with Sipho. Joliano should be a perfect fit for the Sultan playing style, and he proved his skill in the latest Baptism of Fire. Koit is also a national team member, and is an excellent striker.
Weaknesses: Do we even have to explain? Ziyad continues to refuse any defensive talent. It’s as if he wants the other team to score. It must suck to be a defender on Sultan, they get ignored at practice constantly.
Expectations: Racaw won’t be last this year, we can tell you that much. Their midfield is too good for that. However, don’t expect greatness, as no defense equals no championships.

Icebirds
Colors: Light Blue and Silver
Stadium: The Moctodome (64,000), Icklyrri
Manager: Hosni Hyginos (2nd Season)
Overview: Hyginos managed to recover the team’s dignity after their mishaps of two seasons ago. He also put more focus on the midfield, which is working out nicely. This team could return to perennial second place finishers if the current trend keeps up.
Stars: Bernard Brecht, Emmerich Gerd (C), Neil Colin, Angus Aulay
Strengths: Brecht is the real deal, and is now starting for the national team. Gerd is also now national team material, and continues to lead a surprisingly potent Icebirds midfield. Though old, Aulay continues to be a rock in goal.
Weaknesses: Suprisingly, the Icebirds’ weakness will be their defense this year. Hyginos tried to get a foreign defender for his team in the off season, but didn’t have any luck. They are now still aging and slow, and with the loss of Diniz to Cafundeu, they will only get worse. It is important that Hyginos realizes that his defense isn’t as good as it once was, or his club will have severe problems.
Expectations: We could be seeing a switch from a defensive to an offensive team for the Icebirds. With that in mind, we have no idea what to expect from them. Therefore, probably a middle of the pack finish.

Mariners
Colors: Navy Blue and White
Stadium: Oklo Stadium (64,000), Oclia
Manager: Andras Marcel (6th Season)
Overview: The expectation of this club remain high for this season, mostly because of their victory in the Commander’s Cup. Calvin Harris was named to the Osarian national team partially due to his play in Tyrrin. They are building a sort of rivalry with Royale after swapping championships with them for the past two seasons.
Stars: Jack Mumme (Osarius), Calvin Harris (Osarius), Arne Duke, Marcius Booker (C)
Strengths: Mariners will continue to be strong on the attack, with the potent combination of Harris and Mumme continuing to dominate the league. Booker is one of the best midfielders in the league, and Duke is a beast in the backfield.
Weaknesses: With Ata on the bench, the Mariner midfield looks weaker than it has in a long time. Their defense is only passable as well. Even Jack Mumme is getting pretty old. This could spell danger for the upset champions of the Commander’s League.
Expectations: Mariners are looking at a middle of the pack finish this year. They don’t have a strong enough lineup to put them over the top.

Coranto FC
Colors: Maroon and White
Stadium: Whitmere Arena (68,000), Coranto
Manager: Jacob Baldarich (7th Season)
Overview: Zia Thorvald proved to be the most dominant striker in the league last season, with 23 goals in 22 games. Coranto will probably ride his performance, and his recent spot on the national team, to try for a better finish in the league. They are quietly building talent at other positions as well, can could be poised to make a big run this year.
Stars: Zia Thorvald, Greg Elias (C), Donato Shlomo, Jake Mooney, Dakota Terrence
Strengths: Obviously, Thorvald is their main weapon, but teams should learn to defend him fairly quickly. Their lesser known talent is in their midfield. The experience of Elias, distributing skills of Mooney, and the finesse of Terrence make a very formidable midfield that was the reason Thorvald got so many goals. Shlomo is also talented on defense, and just missed the national team nod.
Weaknesses: Despite Shlomo’s best attempts, their defense still isn’t good. This aside, it is amazing that Baldarich has not signed a better keeper, as Anatolios is one of the worst in the league, perhaps only better than Tzefanyah of Foresters.
Expectations: Coranto has a good chance of getting into the top half this year if they play their cards right. Fans are beginning to trust Baldarich, and can see that he has a long term plan for this team. Unfortunately, his plans aren’t quite going fast enough for them.

Raiders
Colors: Blue and Red
Stadium: Raider Arena (53,000), Foroch
Manager: Ludvig Miho (1st Season)
Overview: Raiders had high expectations of last season, and when they fell through, somebody was going to have to take the fall. Konrad Royce was fired, and Ludvig Miho has been brought in. He immediately brought Raimondo back from his exploits with Hainac, instantly making this a very potent team. It will be interesting how this mix of experience and young talent plays together.
Stars: Scott Pierrick, Michael Mu, Raymon Bonjasky (Osarius), Darwin Cairns (Kalasion), George Ryhall (UKSS), Lorenz Raimondo, Hubert Cipriano
Strengths: Michael Mu is one of the best keepers in the league, and he is protected by Ryhall and Cipriano, two inexperienced but very able defenders. Fortunado will fill in nicely after the retirement of Yasen, and he should go along well with Darwin Cairns. Bonjasky, though old, will continue to be their top striker.
Weaknesses: As mentioned, the defense is untested and actually a bit weak. The midfield isn’t even that impressive when compared with some others around the league, and Bonjasky is really old, so we will see if he suffers from injury or not.
Expectations: If this team can get it together, they might make it far. The firing of Royce may shove them in the right direction, or they could lay another egg of a season. Only time will tell.

Tigers vs Emperors
Zarbli's All-Star Game IV

After an exciting DL won by the deadly strike power of Battle, it's time once again for the all-spectacular, all-exciting Zarblese All-Star Game, gathering the best players of the Duke League!

It's a battle of angry T.Rexes, the war of the demigods, it's Tigers vs Emperors!

Tigers
Tigers' team is chosen from clubs from the North-East (Asia FC, Balance, Cross SC, Mountain Chain, Polar Zenith and Watermen) and West (Billiard, Cannibals, Coconut Trees, Romans and Sligdish) regions.

Even though the Tigers had the opportunity to choose from 11 teams to compose its roster (against Emperors' 9), only 2 of the Top 6 teams of Duke League IV (Asia FC and Romans) were among them, and those 2 clubs compose most of this year team.

TIGERS' 11

Emperors
Emperors' team is composed of players from the Center (Lichen, Lunar, Warriors and Xegei) and South (Battle, Bloodthirsty Killers, Flame, Knights and Pyramid AC) regions' clubs.

Emperors had once again the chance to count with players from the best clubs from DL IV, including the champion (Battle) and runner-up (Knights), plus 4th and 6th places, respectively Pyramid AC and Warriors (DL III champions). With players from these teams composing most of the squad, they again have the upper ground for the All-Star Game.

The Match

85,000 people packed the Kazis Treta Stadium, in Battle, to watch Emperors vs. Tigers in the home ground of Battle, current DL champions. The crowd was more equally divided between Emperors and Tigers this year, with about 65% of the crowd supporting Emperors, the "home" team and 35% supporting visitor Tigers.

And Emperors, driven by the majestic plays of Jenjis Kan quickly dominated the match. Duna scored twice and Otehiveu once in the first half. In the second, the nets of Tigers' goalkeeper Burbon was disturbed by Ualase, in one of his trademarks long distance shots.

4-0 to the Emperors, the second win in a row of the Ceter-South selection.

Duke Award
Season's MVP

Jenjis "the Juggernaut" Kan, Battle's slippery and precisev left wing.

CCFM League - Season 19

Postby Cafundeu » Fri May 21, 2010 4:55 pm

CAFUNDÉU - PREVIEW OF THE NEW SEASON
PART I OF II

“The Mother of modern domestic football”

The same introduction as ever: the most international league of the world, mother of modern domestic football, which is the number one in the international coefficients but doesn't win the TQCC since its 8th edition, returns to activity, and the teams are ready to fight for trophies again. The Cafundelense teams, followed by the entire world due to their quality and the tough dispute for the many titles available, get reinforced once again, to dispute in the national and international competitions... this time not much, as the CCFM had decided that the league was already too much inflated with players, so this season we had a calmer transfer window. A wise thing to do.

The line-ups of the 20 best teams of the country(First Division Teams) will probably be the following (foreigners in italics, best 3 players in bold) – (Experts’ Ratings details - the three journalists give the team a rating, from 1 to 5 stars [* - practically relegated; ** - intermediate team, battling against relegation; *** - intermediate team, battling for a top 8 place; **** - top 8 team, battling for a phase title; ***** - battling for the main title]). Finally the writers have decided to look at the uncountable number of mistakes which happened in many of previous editions, and now we hope that there aren’t any more name repetitions or wrong info:

PETARDOS S/A: Taniquentar; Avant, Davis, Bruno Pinto and Alfonso; Amaral, S.Reeves and Hawk (c); Razov, Wanderley and Adams.
Coach: Alfonso Di Angelo.
President: Augusto Brown.
Team Full Name: Petardos Sociedade Anônima de Futebol.
Team Style: Offensive, uses the centre, passing style.
Strongest Point: all around.
Weakest Point: team balanced in all areas.
Nickname: Bilionários (Billionaires).
Stadium Used: Obelisco Monumental, in Lasft (cap. 300,000).
State: Lasft.
Team Sponsor: Globo Multimedia.
Home Kit: blue shirt and white shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt with blue narrow stripes and blue shorts.
Other facts: the super-squad is gone. After seasons hiring the best players to compose its ultra-successful team, Petardos S/A this time had only a few new signings, and ended with an old team that is not far superior to the others like usually happened. But the team still has world class players, though all the strikers are near the end of their careers, same happening with the defenders. Gosh, it looks like half of the current Petardos S/A’s starting line-up is set for retirement soon! Anyway, the team continues willing to win as many titles as they can, and they are capable of this.
Transfer Market: the two main defensive midfielders of the squad left: Marcus Vinícius retired, and Mané sided with the club’s rivals América. Amaral takes the responsibility of being the main defensive midfielder, while Stephanie Reeves was brough to help Hawk on the offence... another World Cup champion in the squad, and surely the Billionaires’ best move this transfer window. Wanderley comes for the attack from Candelaria And Marquez as a big signing, despite never getting a chance at the National Team due to the concorrence, and Vinícius for the bench as a promising young player.
Fans’ Favourites: with no doubt the fans’ favourite is the midfielder Laborious Hawk, the eternal #10 of Petardos S/A and team captain. Other players, especially the Vanorian Ikles Razov and the Candelariasian idol Danny Adams, leader of the squad in its last title, have already conquered the heart of the fans too, due to their efficient and brilliant service for the Billionaires so far.
Good Bench Players: Bobó (defender), Fernando (defender), Vinícius Oliveira (midfielder), Adraktas (attacker), Wendel (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: international success – the League title.
Fans’ style: fanatic (big number) – usually seen as being part of high-class; considered mercenaries who would do anything for money... and they actually do, we heard many cases of some of them selling their mothers-in-law.
Club Tradition: very traditional – worldwide success and fame.
Experts’ ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*****), Jorge Lang (*****), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*****).

CAFUNDÓ DO JUTA: Fernández Montes; Radicci, Craig, Davies and Hocn (c); Luisinho, Kabir, Durosa and Kim Ha-Run; Lynch and Rafael Nunes.
Coach: Andreas Gilsoweller Veiga.
President: Tarcísio Castro Sahid.
Team Full Name: Esporte Clube Cafundó do Juta.
Team Style: offensive, passes a lot, but mixes short and long passes.
Strongest Point: all around.
Weakest Point: good team in all sectors.
Nickname: Esquadrão de Prata (Silver Squadron).
Stadium Used: Praça Maior, in Cafundó do Juta (cap. 180,000).
State: Juta.
Team Sponsor: Banco Econômico.
Home Kit: grey (silver) shirt with white vertical stripes and grey shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and grey shorts.
Other facts: the team that has the most number of supporters in the country. In the last seasons, the team became a “permanent runner-up”, being ever in the top positions but failing to win titles... the loss in last season’s final of the Cafundelense League strengthened this view of the club, and now the supporters are desperate for a title, to finally be able to commemorate after hitting the post so many times. In order to achieve this, Cafundó do Juta kept all its players, not selling a single one, while bringing reinforcements at the same time. With this, they are hungry for victories.
Transfer Market: the only transfer that affected the starting line-up involves the idol Jeong Jihun, who simply won’t be able to play a good amount of games this season due to his age. Therefore, Hamid Kabir was brought, and will feed what is a deadly duo: Lynch and Rafael Nunes. The only other transfer involves the addition of depth in the squad, with Ian Hawthorne becoming an option for the coach.
Fans’ Favourites: the defender Hizzen Hocn is the fans’ favourite, mostly due to his many years of service with the silver shirt. But Jeong Jihun is extremely popular, especially with the younger fans, and may well be at the same level of the Vanorian. Rafael Nunes and Fernández Montes would come after, as the two have been always present in the team’s good seasons that came lately.
Good Bench Players: Estradas (midfielder), Paulistinha (attacker), Lapela (defender), Hawthorne (midfielder) and Jeong Jihun (attacker).
The Fans Expect: international success - the League title.
Fans’ style: extremely fanatic (huge number) – team is seen as the “people’s team”, due for it having people from all classes and even different regions! There are rumours of extraterrestrial beings among its fanbase, and I wouldn’t doubt it.
Club Tradition: one of the football pioneers in the country – worldwide famous and successful.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*****), Jorge Lang (*****), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*****).

RANCA TOCO: Melkezedeck; Júlio César, Nelsinho, Motallbazadeh, Archer and Tonhão (c); Underdark, Fournier and Rodney; Xentolov and Gutiérrez.
Coach: Waldenyr Caldas.
President: Maníaco do Parque.
Team Full Name: Associação Atlética Ranca Toco de Carandirú.
Team Style: Extremely defensive, focuses on counterattacks and long shots.
Strongest Point: the central defence, like the old good times.
Weakest Point: no natural wingers.
Nickname: Sarrafeiros.
Stadium Used: Presídio, in Carandirú City (cap. 75,000).
State: Central.
Team Sponsor: Canabrava Cachaça.
Home Kit: purple shirt with yellow vertical stripes and purple shorts.
Away Kit: yellow shirt and purple shorts.
Other Facts: team famous for its violence, which is incentivized by the directors of the club. Gives high value to pride and home games. Its supporters are very violent too, as most of them are prisoners in the prison city. Last season wasn’t a good one, the team had to react after being on relegation zone after the first half, but the team in general has a very good squad. Accordingly to the supporters, the reason for the bad games was that the team was too much offensive, so the new coach changed the formation and strategies to make Ranca Toco play like the good old times, with a lot of violence and defensive football.
Transfer Market: that’s curious... no one put the blame for the team’s bad campaign last season on the players, and this ended with only a single signing happening. Farías left for Petardos, but all the others remain, while Júlio César comes to be the new right-back after a long time playing abroad. The team’s bench is still very respected, with two Vanorians and other players very linked with the club’s style. Waldenyr Caldas comes directly from the Cafundelense National Team to be the new coach of the club, hoping to repeat in his new club the success of the past.
Fans’ Favourites: the former idols of the team are mostly gone, but Underdark remains. Extremely linked to his team, he even dyed his hair purple to show his commitment to Ranca Toco. Besides him, there is only the defender Tonhão, who grew up in the club.
Good Bench Players: Haesumé (defender), Curupira (goalkeeper), Tonelada (defender), Júrangil (midfielder), Britadeira (attacker).
The Fans Expect: qualification for the Globe Cup.
Fans’ style: extremely fanatic and highly violent (huge number) – are seen as violent people, vandals and “terrorists” (an accurate view, to be honest... they really get associated with terrorism acts). Sometimes people tend to associate Ranca Toco with the lower classes too. Also, the team is the favourite inside Cafundéu’s prisons... some are even painted with the team’s colours!
Club Tradition: very traditional – worldwide famous and successful
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (****), Jorge Lang (****), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (****).

A.F.F.: Zecão (c); Maurício, Thorvaldsson, Tingacens and Freudigmann; Sanderson, Mano Firmeza, Moreno and Colwyn; Bosler and Peters.
Coach: Diogo Avarel.
President: Sir Petrônio Barbugli.
Team Full Name: Abbade Futebol Familiar Clube.
Team Style: Offensive, uses the wings, long passes style.
Strongest Point: offensive midfield.
Weakest Point: defensive midfield.
Nickname: Os Monges (The Monks).
Stadium Used: Arena América, in Abadia (cap. 120,000).
State: Old Cities.
Team Sponsor: C-Electronics.
Home Kit: red shirt with black hoops and black shorts.
Away Kit: black shirt and black shorts.
Other facts: this team is controlled by a powerful family, and has a lot of money. Finally they decided to use this wealth, and bought many players. After the title, A.F.F. started to downfall and is now clearly outside the major contenders for the title. The team is far from having the good squad of other seasons. The major worry is to stop this decadence, and try to return to the top.
Transfer Market: a somewhat active transfer window for A.F.F., at least if we compare it with the ones of other clubs. Sadly, the team got worse thanks to it. One of the best players of the team, Batoré, left for Dunboor, while Farías also abandoned the club. Brian Prescott was the third loss of the club, which replaced the midfielder with Mano Firmeza, a player who isn’t proven on the league. Thorvaldsson replaces Batoré as a full-back.
Fans’ Favourite: the team is only a shadow from the one which the players want to remember. But there is one player who is so much time in the club that it’s impossible to not respect him: the goalkeeper and captain Zecão.
Good Bench Players: Edgar (defender), Edinei (midfielder), Michel (midfielder), Barata (attacker), Dudu (goalkeeper).
The Fans Expect: top 8 position.
Fans’ style: passionate but calm (good number) – majority of fans are adults or old people, and because of that other teams’ supporters generalize A.F.F. as being the “retirement club team”. It isn’t any secret that A.F.F. is the team that asks for more “minutes of silence” before the games due to the death of some influential team member.
Club Tradition: one of the football pioneers in the country – enjoyed a lot of success.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (***).

DUNBOOR FC: Tejera; Farina, Batoré, Maximus and Kirkpatrick; Hawker, An Pilrip, Miguel Silva (c) and Morose; Anwamanë and Antonovich.
Coach: Javier Sanchez.
President: Ulisses Cervantes.
Team Full Name: Dunboor Futebol Clube.
Team Style: slightly defensive, uses the centre, passing style.
Strongest Point: the entire midfield.
Weakest Point: the defence, though it’s a good one.
Nickname: Leões do Norte (Northern Lions).
Stadium Used: Maracatuzão, in Dunboor (cap. 135,000).
State: Dunboor.
Team Sponsor: Editora 25 de Maio.
Home Kit: dark blue shirt with dark blue shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt with white shorts.
Other facts: team that likes to use foreigners, takes advantage of the cold climate of the city in its home games. Dunboor keeps among the top, one season in, one season out of the TQCC. The team is constantly posing as a threat to the top four teams, but fails to achieve complete success in the league, even though it does pretty well in the cups, be those national or international. For this season was one of the most active clubs, changing its entire defence in order to give a solid squad for Javier Sanchez to work with. It may have a better luck in the league this time.
Transfer Market: many players arrived in Dunboor this season. Still at the middle of last year, Jeremy Kirkpatrick came to the club, and now the rest of the completely new defence comes to replace retired or transferred players: Tejera to the goal, Farina and Batoré to the wings and Maximus as the last defenders. A quality defence, though not at the level of the rest of the team, which is really impressive and one of the best in the country.
Fans’ Favourites: midfielder Miguel Silva has finally won the status of main star of Dunboor FC, thanks to his fast improvement. Tons of changes in the team this season leave him as the only true representative of the badge in the current line-up.
Good Bench Players: Ananias (goalkeeper), Índio (midfielder), Pascoal (defender), Cesinha (midfielder), Leivinha (attacker).
The Fans Expect: qualification for the TQCC.
Fans’ style: festive (good number) – they are one of the most festive and motivating supporter groups of the country, but their mood can change suddenly from good to bad. They love to play songs during the games, so you can check their mood according to the music.
Club Tradition: just slightly traditional – enjoyed a lot of success.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*****), Jorge Lang (****), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (****).

CLUBE IMPERIAL: Alcir; Norstrom, Manuso, Vítor Martins (c) and Leahey; Björnsson, Prescott, Ickx and Lobos; Farías and Ortiz.
Coach: Henrique Silveira.
President: Prince Rogério Van Tocco.
Team Full Name: Real Clube Imperial.
Team Style: Extremely offensive, uses the centre and with a fast passes style.
Strongest Point: the entire midfield.
Weakest Point: the defence, especially full-backs.
Nickname: Time Real (Royal Team).
Stadium Used: Estádio Rei Albieri Van Tocco, in Cafundó do Juta (cap. 210,001).
State: Juta.
Team Sponsor: Velog Automóveis.
Home Kit: dark blue with green vertical stripes and green shorts.
Away Kit: light green shirt with dark blue shorts.
Other Facts: Clube Imperial lives a situation similar with A.F.F.’s. A huge team in the past passing through difficulties, and without a team at the same level it once was. For Clube Imperial, things are worse in the point that it’s been a long time since the club had a good season, and players leave the club often. Once again many changes happened in its line-up, and the new squad doesn’t seem strong enough to change the club’s fate.
Transfer Market: Clube Imperial was forced to be active at this transfer window, as the team lost many players. From the retirement of the goalkeeper Vachon to the transfers involving André Diniz, Ryan McAllister and others, most of the starting line-up was gone. No replacements came to the defence, but many of them for midfield and attack. Bjornsson, Prescott, Ickx and Lobos are all new players, while Farías will join the offence.
Fans’ Favourites: lots of changes in the recent seasons took away the idols of the team’s fans. Nowadays, the captain Vítor Martins is the one with the best relationship with them, but he isn’t an idol.
Good Bench Players: Guglielmi (defender), Zorba (attacker), Daniel Dourado (midfielder), Ornello (defender) and Osmar Cantiga (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: top 8 positions.
Fans’ style: emphatic (average number) – mostly composed by nobles and people related to the Royal Family. If the team isn’t playing well, they usually attempt to bribe opponents, but as they already earn a lot of money and corruption is heavily taxed, this doesn’t work.
Club Tradition: not very old, with just recent tradition conquered by titles – highly successful.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (**), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (****).

ATLÉTICO JUTENSE: Garrido; Bastian, Maxwell and Serianni; Marco Aurélio, Kures, Bustamante and Adamílson; Jean Carlo, Sinclair and Fresco (c).
Coach: Ke Sho.
President: Maciel Arango, Baron of Tijhus.
Team Full Name: Clube Atlético Jutense.
Team Style: Very balanced, uses more the centre, passing style.
Strongest Point: the entire midfield.
Weakest Point: none, a balanced team.
Nickname: Galo.
Stadium Used: Cerradão, in Cafundó do Juta (cap. 60,000).
State: Juta.
Team Sponsor: Canfudea Canned Food.
Home Kit: yellow shirt and red shorts.
Away Kit: red shirt and red shorts.
Other Facts: last season was the best in the team’s history. League title and worldwide fame. And Atlético Jutense comes for another season willing to repeat the good performances and maybe this time do well internationally too. The squad was almost entirely maintained, though some useful players left. The team is surely one of the favourites for every competition, but the change of coach may harm its development.
Transfer Market: Rubiano left, being the biggest shock for the fans, though he already had good replacements inside the squad. Due to Cantona’s age, Ian Sinclair was brought to play in his place, while Lit Diors comes to be a good option as a defensive midfielder.
Good Bench Players: Creysson (defender), Diors (midfielder), Batata (defender), Cantona (attacker), Godô (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: the title – success in international competitions.
Fans’ style: passionate (big number) – seen as peaceful supporters, who enjoy good rivalries... but unfortunately the same can’t be said of their rivals, which have more extreme reactions leaving them defenceless. The second team of the city.
Club Tradition: very traditional – extremely successful.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*****), Jorge Lang (****), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*****).

AMÉRICA: Murilo (c); Rodríguez, Farison and P.Reeves; Lewton, Mané, Salivani, Cook and Vroon; Saavedra and Audette.
Coach: Edgar Gastão.
President: Companheiro Brandão.
Team Full Name: América Esporte Clube Lasftense.
Team Style: bit offensive, turns defensive when playing away.
Strongest Point: the defence, extremely strong.
Weakest Point: the attack, in comparison with the rest.
Nickname: Diabos de Lasft (Lasft Devils).
Stadium Used: Estádio Marte, in Lasft (cap. 40,000).
State: Lasft.
Team Sponsor: Guaraná Muquirana.
Home Kit: red shirt and white shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and red shorts.
Other Facts: founded by fanatic football supporters, it grew fast and now is the third biggest team of Lasft. In the last season, América had a great first half in the league, disputing the title, but ended losing precious points and lost the big chance. But a TQCC qualification came, and with this América could win some popularity and money in order to built a world class team, so this time they could be a contender of the title instead of just a surprise. Well, they have managed this, and have a competent squad which can be successful both at home and abroad.
Transfer Market: not many changes happening in América, but the ones done reinforced the squad a lot. At the defence, two retirements forced the new president to invest, and invest hard: Cafundéu NT player Rodríguez and Phyllis Reeves from The Babbage Islands build together with Stephanie Farison an outstanding defence. Mané comes to strengthen the defensive midfield, while Aavik is the hot prospect for the attack, likely to start in many matches.
Fans’ Favourites: currently the biggest idol of the team is the young goalkeeper Murilo, even though he lost his popularity in the National Team. Ettore Salivani Jr. also is praised a lot, and always has to sign tons of autographs when he goes out.
Good Bench Players: Titi (defender), Esquerdinha (full-back), Maníac (midfielder), Fabinho (midfielder), Aavik (attacker).
The Fans Expect: qualification for the TQCC.
Fans’ style: fanatic (average number) – love to make jokes about their rivals, and to provoke and be provoked. Can cause some confusions, involving even violence, with opponents. But what they really love are jokes, especially ones related with stereotypes.
Club Tradition: weak tradition – consolidated 1st Division team.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*****), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (****).

CENTRAL UNITED: Tomada; Cassou, Vaduun, Rilin and Tiago; Nakombi (c), Pingo, E.Minanad and Arsenault; Ruiz and Kelson.
Coach: Ryan Fullerton.
President: Aldir Capetininga.
Team Full Name: União de Futebol do Estado Central.
Team Style: offensive one, using the centre of the field and long ranged shots.
Strongest Point: the midfield.
Weakest Point: the goalkeeper, still unexperienced.
Nickname: Alvinegro.
Stadium Used: Toca do Tatu “Bola”, in Cidade Central (cap. 118,000).
State: Central.
Team Sponsor: Tio João - food in general.
Home Kit: white shirt and black shorts.
Away Kit: black shirt with white stripes and black shorts.
Other Facts: Central United is a traditional team which got used to win titles, and had to get used to just stay in intermediate positions. Slowly, the team is returning to get to the top positions, but there is still a lot of work to be done. It currently faces an up-and-down situation. With the league starting to become more polarized towards a group of teams, Central United will do its best to stay in the top half of these teams. With a squad that doesn’t inspire so much confidence, there’s worry that they might fail this mission.
Transfer Market: the losses for this season have more impact than the signings. There were some retirements, while their goalkeeper and arguably even best player Tejera left for Dunboor FC. Some talented players are coming, like Pingo and the Nethertopian Cassou, but no one really at a superb level. The coach Ryan Fullerton didn’t have much success at Clube Imperial, but his experience as Secristan’s coach will prove to be useful.
Fans’ Favourites: Fugiro Nakombi is the team idol, one which the players identify themselves with, with little space for the other teams to be considered as real idols.
Good Bench Players: Diguinho (defender), Maicosuel (midfielder), Vilmar (attacker), Willians (defender), Michael (attacker).
The Fans Expect: top 8 position.
Fans’ style: passionate (good number) – usually have inventive songs to motivate the team and joke with their opponents. But, although they are creative, they are simply horrible, so no one stands playing or hearing them for a long time, especially the players.
Club Tradition: one of the football pioneers in the country – successful at domestic stage.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (***).

PORTO LACRUZ: Taylor (c); Juliano, Sarashe, Paulão and Diniz; Capstraw, Fischer, Rubiano and Paquetá; Sikkah and Sias.
Coach: Elias de Mattar.
President: Compadre Washington Axé.
Team Full Name: Sociedade Esportiva Porto Lacruz.
Team Style: very balanced, likes to make many passes without haste.
Strongest Point: perhaps the attack.
Weakest Point: the defence is good.
Nickname: Praianos.
Stadium Used: Estádio Nacional dos Cocos, in Porto Lacruz (cap. 72,500).
State: Espinal.
Team Sponsor: CMG Medicines.
Home Kit: orange shirt and white shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and orange shorts.
Other Facts: Porto Lacruz was almost an Elite Four club, but now is somewhat behind its main rivals. Once with a midfield considered legendary, now the team relies in its good defence to do a good job. Instead of being benefitted with the signings, the team lost some strength, though they keep the same ambitions. Still with a good squad, Porto Lacruz hopes to return to international competitions.
Transfer Market: the losses of Rodríguez and Smait Pembace were major ones, which simply couldn’t be replaced. James Sias will now compose the attack, while Paulão and Kegan Diniz form the new defensive pair. Sarashe comes to give more experience to the squad, while Rubiano comes to be the team’s start: the biggest signing of the club that may make the fans forget the ones that left.
Fans’ Favourites: things didn’t go well for the fans in the last seasons: simply all their favourite players left! Now, they have a great respect for the goalkeeper Taylor and full-back Juliano, the two being their current favourites.
Good Bench Players: Doctor (attacker), Eredictar (goalkeeper), Bert (midfielder), Renatinho (attacker), Darci (defender).
The Fans Expect: a spot in international competitions.
Fans’ style: empathic but calm (average number) – the supporters usually don’t get overexcited, preferring to rest rather than getting stressed with the game... some even bring beds and pillows to the stadiums, something accepted by the police, as they are too tired to start a fight to use the pillows as weapons.
Club Tradition: just slightly traditional – established in 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (****), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (***).

CAFUNDÉU - PREVIEW OF THE NEW SEASON
PART II OF II

SC LASFT: Marinho; Mesquita (c), Viera, Kanis and H.Mohammed; Olsen, Gérson, de León and Bogota; Didi and Dossena.
Coach: Sérgio Caipirinha.
President: Hermes de Vasconcelos Bung.
Team Full Name: Sport Club Lasft.
Team Style: balanced, likes to control the game’s pace.
Strongest Point: good midfield.
Weakest Point: the attacking duo.
Nickname: Golden Team.
Stadium Used: Estádio Padre Anchieta, in Lasft (cap. 70,000).
State: Lasft.
Team Sponsor: Imperial Lottery.
Home Kit: black shirt with details in gold and black shorts.
Away Kit: golden shirt and black shorts.
Other Facts: although the team now seems solid in the First Division, it is far from repeating the good performances of the past, when it was among the best teams of the entire league. When it appeared that the supporters were starting to get used to this new era of the team, the chairman invests heavily to try to put the team back into success, and now they have bigger ambitions. Repeating the qualification for the Globe Cup conquered in the last season would be enough for now, only one more step in the mission to return to be one of the best and fight for titles.
Transfer Market: the team let Ken Bedwell leave even after the player’s good performances last season, in order to use Mesquita at his best position. For the midfield, the arrivals are of Gérson and Martín de León, which produce a very offensive midfield which can have some problems on counterattacks. Didi substitutes Cassetti on the attack, and is a promising striker.
Fans’ Favourites: the two favourites of the supporters are the two best players of the squad: the full-back Mesquita and the Starblaydi Ariel Bogota, a member of the country’s National Team.
Good Bench Players: Gino (defender), Fernando Borges (midfielder), Kadu (attacker), Urbano (goalkeeper), Lithsumé (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: top 8 position.
Fans’ style: passionate (big number) – usually associated with poorest people of the region, due to the rivalry with Petardos S/A. Curiously, the second richest person of the city supports SC Lasft.
Club Tradition: one of the football pioneers of the country – successful at domestic stage.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (****), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (***).

INTERNACIONAL DE PENDERIA: Felipe (c); Young, Vainarell, Duílio and Gut; Orestes, Bjornssund, Arturzinho and Reyes; Júnior Guerreiro and Cesinha.
Coach: Carlos Vergara.
President: Renato Saulo Meirelles, Count of Penderia.
Team Full Name: Sport Club Internacional de Penderia.
Team Style: offensive, uses long ranged passes.
Strongest Point: the goalkeeper.
Weakest Point: the midfield and attack.
Nickname: os Cavaleiros (the Knights).
Stadium Used: Campo do Forte Meirelles, Penderia (cap. 50,000).
State: Old Cities.
Team Sponsor: Cascete Vigilância.
Home Kit: red shirt with white stripes and red shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and white shorts.
Other Facts: this one is a traditional team, in fact, but got lost in time. The return of it to the First Division was much commemorated, and after many seasons in the top level the team now seems pretty used to the league, and unlikely to have a bad campaign. Unfortunately for them, at the same time that the danger of getting relegated decreases, the possibility of doing more than just staying at the Primeirona decreases as much.
Transfer Market: many players left Internacional, and the team had to replace practically its entire midfield and attack, and did the best way they could. Júnior Guerreiro is a talented striker, Reyes is experienced, and Orestes is a bet.
Fans’ Favourite: their favourite player is the goalkeeper Felipe, who got promoted alongside with the team to the Primeirona. And, as he is the only one that has stayed in the squad for a longer time, he is their absolute idol.
Good Bench Players: Jaimesinho (defender), Deco (attacker), Pateta (defender), Mocce (midfielder), Fininho (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: intermediate position.
Fans’ style: extremely fanatic, slightly violent (average number) – the revival of the team revived the violent percentage of the Internacional fan base, which now dominates the team’s fan groups. Their supporters simply can’t stop talking about football, they talk about it on work, with the family, with their wives/husbands, with the dog, to themselves...
Club Tradition: very traditional – established to 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (**), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

ATLÉTICO INSULAR: Tom (c); Solano, Ali, Brutamontes and Perrin; Fagundes, Brekke, Alarcón and Mário Moura; Nei Luz and Alexandre.
Coach: Sérgio Alerto Nóbrega.
President: Durval Sassarech.
Team Full Name: Clube Atlético Insular.
Team Style: defensive, using counterattacks a lot.
Strongest Point: the attack, very weakened.
Weakest Point: the midfield in general.
Nickname: Eremitas.
Stadium Used: Cúpula Tropical, in Ilha Eremita (cap. 45,000).
State: Coast.
Team Sponsor: Agora Saúde.
Home Kit: light blue shirt with yellow stripes and light blue shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and light blue shorts.
Other Facts: ah, so Atlético Insular got back to the first division last season, and managed to avoid relegation... but the battle seems to never end, as at each passing season the team gets weaker and weaker, losing some important players and being unable to get top reinforcements. Luckily for them, their midfield duo is still with Atlético, and they have the responsibility to save the entire club once again.
Transfer Market: a list of losses: Nestor, Matador and Aavik are the major ones, leaving the team seriously weakened. Solano substitutes well Nestor, but the same can’t be said of the other replacements: Fagundes was Matador’s substitute last season and Nei Dias comes from a Terceirona club, after being the top goalscorer there... but this time the opposition will be much more competent.
Fans’ Favourites: none of the players have really a strong link with the club, but the fans admire a lot the goalkeeper Tom, captain of the team, and the midfield duo composed by Sorley Brekke and Peyo Alarcón.
Good Bench Players: Ronaldo (goalkeeper), Morais (attacker), Eldeir (midfielder), Garcia (defender), João Gustavo (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation without problems.
Fans’ style: calm (small number) – used to the life away from the big city, they like to bring their animals to the stadium. Unfortunately for them, they also have to pay tickets to enter too.
Club Tradition: traditional team – used to 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (**), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

CLUBE COMERCIAL: Cleston; Villalobos, André Coutinho, Bjorn and Khan; Bino (c), Castelo, Vazquez, Nash and Da Costa; McAllister.
Coach: Eddie Barnes.
President: Director Santa Claus.
Team Full Name: Clube do Comércio Cafundelense - CCC.
Team Style: offensive, likes to play long balls and shots.
Strongest Point: the entire midfield, truly a top one.
Weakest Point: the defence.
Nickname: Mercenários.
Stadium Used: Olímpico Imperial, in Lux (cap. 80,000).
State: Central.
Team Sponsor: AUGECC – a Cafundelense group of companies.
Home Kit: black shirt and white shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and black shorts.
Other Facts: Clube Comercial has firmly put its name as a top 8 squad, after two consecutive excellent seasons, giving to the fans much more than what they had expected. The basic mission is to repeat the feat of the previous seasons, with a top 8 position and if possible a place in the Globe Cup... of course, a TQCC would be better, but seen as an out of reach mission right now... but maybe only right now. Season after season, Clube Comercial manages to sign more players to address some needs of the squad, and this happened once again this time, making the team stronger.
Transfer Market: Clube Comercial is the proof that money can really improve a team. Chago Villalobos assumes a position as a full-back, while Rasmus Bjorn comes to reinforce the defence even more. Nothing changes in the midfield, while now the team will use only one attacker, with Ryan McAllister being the one. Whenever needed, first choice substitute Dean Bowyer can come to help, and he usually does well when called.
Fans’ Favourites: midfielder Bino is currently the favourite of the fans, but other players that recently arrived on the squad are also getting some attention, especially Bino’s midfield partners Castelo, Da Costa, Jesus Vazquez and Tegan Nash.
Good Bench Players: Jim Hill (defender), Barroso (defender), Idlam (midfielder), Castanhal (midfielder), Bowyer (attacker).
The Fans Expect: top 8 position.
Fans’ style: demanding (low number) – rich businesspeople from all around Cafundéu who invest in the team and demand results. Some are a bit eccentric, doing things like throwing money to the real fans of Clube Comercial – which are very few – but they mostly are sane people.
Club Tradition: somewhat traditional team – used to 1st Division environment.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (****).

GALÁXIA: Getúlio; Dinei, Tarso and Wanderson (c); Caipira, Dorival, Sulkiewicz and Arturo; Cassetti, Granek and Romergleydson.
Coach: Nelson Yaschter.
President: Claudecir do Prado.
Team Full Name: Academia de Futebol Galáxia.
Team Style: balanced, likes to explore individual plays.
Strongest Point: the offensive midfield.
Weakest Point: the defence in general.
Nickname: Academia Estelar.
Stadium Used: Gigantão, Santo Galvão (cap. 80,000).
State: Titã.
Team Sponsor: Fordeare Mobile Phones.
Home Kit: black shirt with narrow light blue vertical stripes and black shorts.
Away Kit: light blue shirt and black shorts.
Other Facts: alright, so Galáxia managed to escape relegation last time! Quite a feat, as it had one of the worst squads of the division. This time, the situation is the same. The team is simply not at the same level of some others in the Primeirona, but may have enough talent to surpass four clubs in the tables. So, once again the challenge of Galáxia will be to keep themselves at the top division of the CCFM league.
Transfer Market: some players left, especially the playmaker Vervánt, but this time Galáxia signed a good amount of players: Dinei, Cassetti, Dorival, Arturo, Tarso... all new members of the squad, and this gives the team some depth.
Fans’ Favourites: from the current team, the goalkeeper Getúlio is much praised for his good performances, and the fact that he started his career at the club makes him the biggest idol of the current squad.
Good Bench Players: Richards (defender), Clodoaldo (defender), Wandinelson Braga (midfielder), Jorginho (midfielder), Luizão (attacker).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: cold (low number) – the team doesn’t have many loyal followers, although many people think Galáxia is a nice team... on the level of “ow, how cute this team is, but I do not support them!”
Club Tradition: recent team – formerly consolidated 1st Division club.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*), Jorge Lang (**), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

ELDORADO: Brucutu; Paraíba (c), Rabicó, Sang Han-Chang and Mérida; Turco, Mitsubara, Betinho and Jesus; Fabiano Carvalho and Hexa.
Coach: Connor Mengucci.
President: Valdir McLaren.
Team Full Name: Associação Esportiva Eldorado.
Team Style: slightly offensive, enjoys long passes and counterattacks.
Strongest Point: the midfield has a lot of talent.
Weakest Point: the attack.
Nickname: Conquistadores.
Stadium Used: Memorial, in Eldorado (cap. 40,000).
State: Juta.
Team Sponsor: Churrascarias Brasa Mora.
Home Kit: yellow shirt with details in green and green shorts.
Away Kit: pale green shirt and white shorts.
Other Facts: this is an interesting team, which last season surprised the whole CCFM league by reaching the top 8 just after getting promoted. It is located in an almost nice city and has an almost good stadium, with an almost top infrastructure designed by an almost competent engineer. This time, reaching the top 8 will not be a huge surprise, as the team has a strong squad, but won’t be the main mission... but of course everyone related to the club is wanting that to happen very much, and may well be disappointed if Eldorado finishes just in an intermediate position.
Transfer Market: it may look like the team didn’t hire players where it most needed: the attack. But this is because there’s a huge hope on the youngster Danilinho. For the midfield, Betinho comes from Clube Comercial on loan, with the status of a star. The defence was the most reinforced sector, with the arrivals of Sang Han-Chang and Saul Mérida, which were very praised by the coach Mengucci.
Fans’ Favourites: the captain of the team and young player Paraíba is the idol of the team’s supporters... in second, comes the defensive midfielder Turco, who is very committed and determinate on the pitch.
Good Bench Players: Klebinho (midfielder), Danilinho (attacker), Odvan Guará (attacker), Alvinho (defender), Leandro Gordo (defender).
The Fans Expect: intermediate position.
Fans’ style: passionate (low number) – due to the fact that Eldorado isn’t so far from Cafundó do Juta, most of its population ends supporting one of the capital teams. But the ones who stay loyal to Eldorado end being extremely fanatic, with tattoos on their bodies and calling their sons or livestock with names of famous players.
Club Tradition: slightly traditional team – newcomer to 1st Division environment.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

RIO BONITO: Ojeda; O’Connell, Jeong Yakyong and Pak Hwan-Jae; Paulo Fabbri, Pak Jongguk, Fert, Ní Cheallaigh and Kelvin (c); Cortijo and Rosário.
Coach: Manuel Padaria.
President: Barnabé Casanova.
Team Full Name: Grêmio Esportivo Rio Bonito.
Team Style: mixed, explores a lot the counterattacks.
Strongest Point: the attack.
Weakest Point: the wings with full-backs and offensive midfielders.
Nickname: Caipiras do Gelo.
Stadium Used: Arena Samseong-Barnabé, Rio Bonito (cap. 50,000).
State: Dunboor.
Team Sponsor: Samseong Electronics.
Home Kit: maroon shirt with black hoops and black shorts.
Away Kit: light orange shirt and white shorts.
Other Facts: it’s been some time since the last time Rio Bonito was at the Primeirona. After their relegation, the home country of their investors had major problems, and cut the funding, causing them to have difficulties in returning to the top. These problems have ended, and Samseong invested really hard, making the team the best of the Segundona by a huge margin, and winning the competition without major difficulties. But now the challenge is entirely new: to stay and do well at the Primeirona, a competition in which the hopes cannot be set as high.
Transfer Market: the team, thanks to the structure of Samseong, managed to keep its main players, even Cortijo and Paulo Fabbri who were being wanted by other clubs. This is already a good thing. Oh wait, forget that... tons of extra transfers strengthened the squad...
Fans’ Favourite: the fans enjoy a lot the football of Paulo Fabbri, and the captain Kelvin too, though he isn’t a good player in all honesty. Due to the influence of the president, his son Barnabézinho also is well liked.
Good Bench Players: Barnabézinho (defender), Renan Muniz (defender), Leandrinho (attacker), Carlos Garcia (midfielder), Georges (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: intermediate position.
Fans’ style: calm (low number) – limited to the city of Rio Bonito, they are mostly friends or employees of the farmers who dominate the politics at that region, giving the fanbase a “country” style. Orientals also tend to like the club.
Club Tradition: recent team – trying to establish at 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (**), Jorge Lang (**), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

BANDEIRANTES: Otávio Gumes; Aladim, Dukelsky, Serrote and Gordillo; Edu Miranda, Cachaça, Catimba (c) and Xingu; Ospina and Gil Bravo.
Coach: Sérgio Adoniran.
President: Miro Preio Gonçalves.
Team Full Name: Associação Esportiva Bandeirantes.
Team Style: defensive, likes to control the possession and pass short.
Strongest Point: the midfield.
Weakest Point: the central defence.
Nickname: Conquistadores.
Stadium Used: Terrenão Baldio, Ararinha (cap. 30,000).
State: Lasft.
Team Sponsor: Catinga Deodorant.
Home Kit: green shirt with red stripes and white shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and green shorts.
Other Facts: Bandeirantes is another of those Cafundelense clubs which can manage to come from the bottom divisions to the Primeirona, thanks to some good youngsters and the right investment at the right moment. They easily got their promoted from the Segundona, and most of their fans hope that the team has enough talent to not get relegated. Basically, this will be their mission. The team can be considered the one that has the highest number of really promising young players right now, with names like Aladim, Edu Miranda, Catimba, Xingu and Gil Bravo... but this alone won’t make the squad successful.
Transfer Market: in order to give some experience to the club, they brought the attacker Ospina and the defender Gordillo. Edu Miranda, probably their best player, came from another Segundona club and impressed. A lot. Really a lot.
Fans’ Favourites: the favourite is certainly the team captain Catimba, who is popular for engaging in fights for absolutely no reason, especially when the team is losing. Aladim comes right after.
Good Bench Players: Hernani (midfielder), Jujuba (attacker), Lopes (attacker), Mechinha (defender), Marquinhos Alemão (defender).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: fanatic (small number) – extremely rude, the supporters of Bandeirantes are famous for their lack of hygiene in general... expect stadiums completely dirty after a game involving the club, and some public displays of bad taste.
Club Tradition: slightly traditional – newcomer to the 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (**), Jorge Lang (**), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

KHALMAR-TIJHUS: Usher; Bedwell (c), Rosas, Pedrosa and Zumbi; Benê, Kiko, Régis and Chiquinho; Zapata and Piau.
Coach: Adílson Araújo.
President: Nílson Isidoro Fanfarra.
Team Full Name: Clube de Futebol Lorde Khalmar de Tijhus.
Team Style: very defensive, hardly takes risks.
Strongest Point: the entire defence.
Weakest Point: the midfield.
Nickname: Tricolor.
Stadium Used: Jóia da Lagoa, in Tijhus (cap. 45,000).
State: Juta.
Team Sponsor: Farah Construtora.
Home Kit: orange shirt with grey stripes and black shorts.
Away Kit: grey shirt and red shorts.
Other Facts: Khalmar-Tijhus once was seen as a promising club, one that could reach the TQCC and do well. Suddenly the investment decreased, the best players left and relegation came. Without the good performances to return to the Primeirona right after falling, the club spent several seasons in the hope of repeating the old times. Finally they got promoted. But now the team is just a shadow of its former self, and must battle only to not return to the Second Division again. A sad situation for a club that once had so big ambitions and hopes, and had some very good players.
Transfer Market: in order to escape relegation, Khalmar-Tijhus made some good signings. Kiko comes for the midfield, Usher to be the goalkeeper and Bedwell to be the team star, leader and captain... and maybe hero.
Fans’ Favourites: used to be Régis, a player very linked to the club. But with the arrival of Bedwell, the new player is likely to take this position and be the idol of the club, in need of one.
Good Bench Players: Branquinho (midfielder), Leôncio (defender), Chaves (midfielder), Artur Motta (midfielder), Saci (attacker).
The Fans Expect: to escape relegation.
Fans’ style: passionate (small number) – a small local group of supporters, Khalmar-Tijhus usually has the minority of fans even when playing at home (of course, when playing opponents with big number of supporters).
Club Tradition: traditional club – formerly established in 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

VARZEANO: Brasília; Dézinho, Edson Santos, Barbiéri and Romano; Gílson (c), Zé Eduardo, Luiz Carlos and Robson; Xavier and Dão.
Coach: Tales.
President: Adil Nassaf Gusmão.
Team Full Name: Aglomeração de Gente na Várzea.
Team Style: offensive, plays without much organization.
Strongest Point: the midfield.
Weakest Point: the attackers.
Nickname: Peladeiros.
Stadium Used: Campo de Várzea, Balneário Pequi (cap. 30,000).
State: Lasft.
Team Sponsor: Bico General Services.
Home Kit: white shirt and white shorts.
Away Kit: red shirt and red shorts.
Other Facts: this is surely one of the less rated clubs to make the Primeirona. Playing without a strict tactical organization, Varzeano defeated far more prepared clubs with their weird and unpredictable style and got the promotion. The coach will try to repeat the formula in order to keep the team in the top division, by letting they play as they want. This simply cannot be a professional club, their players do not even have contracts!
Transfer Market: with the promotion to the Primeirona, the team president asked some people at the neighbourhood if they wanted to be part of the squad. Some people accepted the offer, so Varzeano is reinforced.
Fans’ Favourite: currently it is the coach Tales, as he managed to do something that no one thought to be possible. As for the players, most are relatives of the fans, so they surely must love them.
Good Bench Players: Tadeu (attacker), Fernandão (defender), Azul (defender), Muriel (attacker), Pretinho (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: passionate (low number) – there is a small number of real supporters of Varzeano, usually relatives of the players and the members of the board of directors. But whenever the team goes, they always win some new supporters, due to their humble ways.
Club Tradition: weak tradition – newcomer to 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

THE MEDICAL CUP GAMES

After so many seasons hiding the results of the football games in the medical games from public view, the Landau Institute has finally decided to reveal the scores of this nearly meaningless competition, as it is only a single event in the middle of an Olympics-type tournament involving other events more related with medicine, as the dyagnosis against the clock and the precise surgery, between others. But as the cup gives the TQCC and GC places of Estresse Intenso, it awards at least something more than medals. So, just some notes before the results:

- only teams strictly related with medical practices can participate in the medical cup games (eliminating this way teams like for example Security, Patients, University Workers, Monks, Administrators and even others like Nutritionists, Dentists and Pharmacists which are closer to what is needed)

- only the 32 best ranked teams in the league's previous season are allowed to join (and participate through a seeded draw)

- the cup involves only knockout rounds (single leg)

FACTIONS' CUP OF ESTRESSE INTENSO

While the Medical Games decide the TQCC/GC spots, the newly formed Factions' Cup determinates the SBCC spots. As the war in Estresse Intenso grows bigger, it becomes even more difficult for teams of different factions to face each other in football games. Therefore, this pre-season cup makes the teams play only against other teams of the same general faction, even though these are still rivals of one another. In the end, the champions of each cup go to the SBCC, with the preference order defined by the faction's performance in the last season - only the best 8 of each factions' division get to the cup. By the way, companies can apply to join (or those already in can ask to leave) the Office Buildings' league, the same with the Foreigners' division, which will accept teams of foreigners.

Results - Office Buildings:

THE JOWENGUARD CROWN
Pre-Season competition to decide teams for International Competitions

After seasons choosing the teams to be directed to the TQCC, Globe Cup and SBCC through mysterious ways (although most followed a criteria, which changed once or twice), the CCFM finally decided to create a new competition in order to choose the teams to go to the international competitions to be played before the end of the Cafundelense season. In homage to the former president of the CCFM, Erasmo Carlos Jowenguard, the new competition was named the Jowenguard Crown. Played before the official beginning of the new season, is composed by some knockout rounds, involving teams which had good performances in the previous season: be those in the league or in the cup. The competition is divided in two "areas": the TQCC/GC and the SBCC, the winners of each one meeting in the final game to decide the Crown.

The first edition showed that the competition is a pure mess when deciding which teams would participate and which would be its format, and the CCFM directors proved that they are completely useless by repeating the same format and continuing with the mess involving this competition... the same lazyness that makes the people writing this to not update the introduction that has been always the same. For the TQCC/GC area, the 12 best teams of the league were qualified (11, as the champion is already in the TQCC), a small change from previous editions in which the 7 best were called, together with the semifinalists of the last Empress Cup, and the last champion of the Second Division. Current First Division league champions (Atlético Jutense in this case) wouldn't participate in the Jowenguard Crown and would receive an automatic TQCC spot. Of course, there were cases of a team qualifying in both league and cup criteria. But, in these cases, no substitute would be called.

Seeds for the TQCC/GC area are the following: League 2nd (1st), Cup Winners (2nd), then the qualified through the league (3rd - 11th), those qualified through the cup (none this time) and last the current Second Division champion (12th). Top ranked teams receive byes whenever necessary for the numbers

Former champions:

Edition 1 - Ranca Toco
Edition 2 - Petardos S/A
Edition 3 - Petardos S/A
Edition 4 - Atlético Jutense
Edition 5 - Cafundó do Juta

See the results of the TQCC/GC area:

First Round:

(5th) SC Lasft 2-1 Rio Bonito (12th)
(6th) Clube Comercial 1-1 Atlético Insular (11th)
Penalties: 4-2
(7th) Eldorado 2-0 A.F.F. (10th)
(8th) Porto Lacruz 1-3 Ranca Toco (9th)

Quarterfinals:

(1st) Cafundó do Juta 4-2 Ranca Toco (9th)
(4th) América 1-0 SC Lasft (5th)
(2nd) Dunboor FC 3-0 Eldorado (7th)
(3rd) Petardos S/A 0-0 Clube Comercial (6th)
Penalties: 5-4

Globe Cup playoff (winners go to GC):

(5th) SC Lasft 0-1 Ranca Toco (9th)
(6th) Clube Comercial 1-0 Eldorado (7th)

Semifinals:

(1st) Cafundó do Juta 1-1 América (4th)
Penalties: 4-3
(2nd) Dunboor FC 2-3 Petardos S/A (3rd)

TQCC Playoff (winner goes to TQCC/loser to Globe Cup):

(2nd) Dunboor FC 2-0 América (4th)

Area Final (both qualified for TQCC):

(1st) Cafundó do Juta 1-0 Petardos S/A (3rd)

For the SBCC area, there is more organization, and it is easier to get which teams were qualified to play the competition and its format. There were no automatic SBCC spots, and fourteen teams were called, among relegated teams from the First Division in the last season, teams from the Second Division and last season's best Third Division teams. Of course, all of them are now in the Second Division.

The seeds are: last season's 17th placed at Division 1 (1st), 18th/Div1 (2nd), 19th/Div1 (3rd), 20th/Div1 (4th), top 8 not promoted of last season's Division 2 (5th - 12th), last season's Division 3 champions (13th) and last season's Division 3 runner-ups (14th). The first and second seeds enter only in the second round (quarterfinals).

See the results:

First Round:

(7th) Metropolitano 1-1 EC Elville (10th)
Penalties: 5-6
(8th) Clube dos Banqueiros 2-4 São Jorge (9th)
(3rd) Cruzeiro do Sul 1-0 Grêmio Lux (14th)
(6th) União Trabalhadora 2-0 SC Carnavalesco (11th)
(4th) Serrano 0-1 Atlético Central (13th)

Area Final:

(9th) São Jorge 3-1 Palestra (12th)

Radio Ad’ihan International, lately sponsors of the UICA Super Cup and International University Challenge Championship, confirms its intention to bid for sponsorship of both the Series B Champions’ Cup and the IUCC.

Radio Ad’ihan International are the state-funded, but otherwise independent, national broadcasters of the United Islands of Ad’ihan. RAI currently holds broadcast rights both to the UICA and IUCC in Ad’ihan for its RAI Sport channels, and is a leading provider of news and entertainment across the globe. In Ad’ihan, Radio Ad’ihan International's domestic radio output on the eponymously-named Radio Ad’ihan Network also carries UICA broadcasts.

THE TOP FLIGHT OF BURCHADINGER SINCE 1943

2010 will be an interesting year, and all eyes will be on Dynamo Dresden. Dresden have been severely weakened by the departure of Markus Klogh to Tyrrin Royale, and Mirko Soltau's retirement. With a month and a half left in the Transfer Window, Hans-Mayer Hansen has expressed his desire to leave the club, and perhaps follow his former team-mate to Tyrrin. With Dresden in chaos, chief rivals Star Bucharest are looking to capitalize as much as possible.

Last season ended pretty much like this;
