THE REVOLUTION HAS FINALLY BEEN DEFEATED...

LIVE FROM TOHOKO, NOBURU TAIYOU - Oh, well, you win some, you lose some. The Abanhfleft Revolution really tried to put up a spirited performance against the Bat Slaves, but they were simply just too strong. But you know what, we were actually lucky that we even managed to score 3 runs against them.

Let's take a look at this game 2 of the Finals. The Bat Slaves started off strong, with denying the Revolution any runs at the top of the first inning and scoring two runs at the bottom. These Bat Slaves players, with weird names like Shirtmaker 9DHUAS and Soldier USUALSO (probably because their names are controlled by their Xerxes-like dictator or something) are very good for players coming from a dictatorship. But the guy to really watch out for was Enemy Crusher Bobby Furgles, who scored a two-run homer against Justin Yardley to put him and that Soldier JSIAISKS through to home plate.

It was during the fourth and fifth innings that the Bat Slaves showed why they were the top team in NS baseball. 4 runs in two innings... Damn, son! Don't get me wrong, we tried to put up a good offense, we really did. But their defense was just very much better than our offense, and we got nothing for three consecutive innings. Okay, so Carlos the Jackal and Jiangming scored two runs at the top of the seventh, but then the Bat Slaves scored a three-run homer to keep their lead up to ludicrous levels. By then, the will had totally gone out of the Revolution, and we didn't even try to mount a decent defense. Luckily though, the Bat Slaves kept striking out and fouling and whatnot, and only managed to score two runs at the bottom of the eighth. And we didn't even make an effort to score at all at the top of the ninth. So the Bat Slaves scored the walk-off home run, and we walked off with the knowledge that while we can beat a lot of ranked, we can't defeat all of them.

This loss has given us yet another meeting with Imota for who will face the Bat Slaves in the battle for the championship. We've beaten them before, so I think our chances of facing them again are good, but then again Imota is ranked fifth. It's anyone's game at the moment? So who do you guys think will win this time? The Revolution? Or the Sunwings? Tune in to tomorrow's game to find out. This is the Armored Dinner Jacket saying, ciao, peace. Catch you in my next post.

NOW THE REVOLUTION SHALL FACE THE ULTIMATE TEST...

LIVE FROM TOHOKO, NOBURU TAIYOU - Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we've all been waiting and dreading for has arrived. We have set up another meeting with the Bat Slaves!

Oh, yes, we really are both waiting for this next meeting, and dreading it. The Bat Slaves Mannschafted us by 11 runs to our paltry 3 the last time we met on the diamond, so we're not really itching to get into this game ASAP. But then again, we have beaten at least two ranked teams in this Baseball Slam. Mosktopia and Imota really made us fight good and fight hard for our spot in the Finals. And so, while we're really not looking forward to the fight against the Bat Slaves (we'll gladly settle for second place if we're going up against these guys), we do have this sliver of hope that we can deal an unexpected blow to the Bat Slaves. Fingers crossed.

But anyways, back to the third-place game. I think both teams didn't really look forward to getting the W and the meeting against the Bat Slaves, so we weren't really playing at our best. Coach Keppler decided to rest his best players for this game, and sent out a slightly weaker lineup on the diamond. Justin Yardley was on the rotation, and so was one of the few first team players to remain on the field. The first inning was quiet. Everyone made nice and decent efforts at bat, but no one really managed to break the deadlock. Then Paul Skranga scored a home run at the bottom of the second inning. That was when the ball began to roll. Kilgore Kilkenny scored another homer to maintain our lead after the Sunwings hit a lucky equalizer. And then the Revolution just steamrolled through the opposition. Our young guns scored four more runs in the fourth and fifth innings, and the Sunwings can only manage one more run at the top of the eighth before Ullman Ruger scored the walk-off home run that secured another meeting between the Revolution and the Sunwings.

Tomorrow will decide the fate of the International Baseball Slam. Will the Bat Slaves win again against the surprise of the tournament and secure the trophy, or will the upstart Revolution force another game and, just maybe, win the Slam? Tune in to tomorrow's game to find out! This is the Armored Dinner Jacket saying ciao, peace. Catch you in my next post.

The Gregoryisgodisatan Bat Slaves are now one win away from their fourth IBS title. The team needs to win one of two games against the Revolution to take home the title. If they win today, they are champions. If they lose, there will be one more game to decide it all.

Lord Almighty Gregory wished the team luck and said if they won the title, prune juice and gruel rations would be doubled tomorrow in celebration.

Hats and bats off to the Bat Slaves. The Revolution offers our baseball bats and caps to Gregory and his players.

OOC: Final post for this thread, probably.
