Welcome to Baptism of Fire 56.

Welcome to Baptism of Fire 56, the first adventure for 56 nations in what they might call Football, Soccer, or, Calcio or anything else for that matter. Whichever name you use, it is the same sport that is based on a universal language, a game where everyone feels the passion. All seek the goal of winning. (We certainly hope to have many goals in this tournament!) Fifty-six nations have entered, but only one will be the chosen one to taste the sweetness of victory.
Well, it seems you have decided to venture into the world of NS Sports, specifically in Football/Soccer/Whatever. Or should I say multiverse? Multiverse, definitely. Many questions will arise, and we seriously cannot cover them all. Some will always escape us, and there probably will be new ones brought up by you. However, we can cover the basics.
First of all, you might ask yourself, how does everything work? Well, quite simply, nations sign up, and they get into the competition (or its qualifying stage, if it needs one). There are very few exceptions to that. Then there are group draws, games and the like. Pretty simple so far.

Now, let's begin with the basic stuff you should know to have a better experience in NS Sports, especially for this tournament, the first of many of your adventures into NS Sport. There's a lot of it, so buckle in and take in as much as you can.

Scorination

So, you've signed up for a tournament, but you're puzzled about how we set the results. How do we decide which teams win and which teams lose? Well, this is done with a program known as a scorinator. There are a few of these available (this tournament uses one called http://www.thirdgeek.com/ns/xkoranate/ xkoranate ). In basic terms, what they do is they take the ranking points of teams, throw some random numbers at them and generate a result. At a tournament like this, a host (usually elected by the community) will generate this results. In this case, it will be done by Schiavonia and San Jose Guayabal.

Role Play issues and "Margaret"

This is the main reason why most of us are here, the Role Play (better known as RP, the verb in abbreviated form RPing, the plural form is RPs). The simple fact that you can write a match report, important events in your country, parodies of events, programs or real characters to a similar piece to the theater or recount adventures and misadventures of any kind. There may be short RPs (a line or a few paragraphs), larger RPs (where important events are illustrated), they can carry pictures, drawings or photographic resource. We've even had audio RPs, if they are what you want to go with!
RPing also helps to increase or decrease your chances of winning matches. You will receive an RP bonus - an extension to your ranking points dependent upon the quality and frequency of your RP. In other competitions, this bonus is combined with ranking points accumulated from previous tournaments. This means that, once we move on into World Cup Qualifying, there will be a long way to go to catch the top nations. But at the Baptism of Fire, nobody starts with any ranking points, so the RP bonus is the only ranking system we will have to differentiate between teams.

We know you are all in your first time in the NS World Cup and have a long way to go, so we as hosts we will seek to resolve your concerns regarding RPing. You can even contact us via telegram (TG) if you would like tips to help you improve the level of your RP. Do not worry, because our goal is to provide all of you a good experience, assist you in RPing and anything else you might need.

As for the other phenomenon, the force that few of us see or feel in these tournaments, but it has an important role regarding the fate and destiny of your national team - "Margaret".

Who is Margaret? Margaret was the Goddess of Random Numbers in the long gone but fondly remembered nation of Snub Nose 38, back when the NS World Cup was in its earliest days. Nowadays, Margaret is the part of NS Sports we would call randomness. This is what makes things interesting. You see, being the best RPer does not get you a guaranteed win, just better chances. The random element to the scorinator means that many upsets have happened. You should definitely never write your team off, and you should never assume that you are going to win. Randomness can be a pain for some, and some kind of godly gift for others. If you end up feeling hard done by, then remember that you're not alone some. Pretty much all of the top nations across all of NS Sport have had rough results sometime. It's just like real life - the team we might expect to win beforehand do not always do so.

Margaret's name should go straight into the NS Sport Glossary part of your brain. She will be mentioned frequently. You'll get to know her, if you will stay here for a while. We can guarantee that.

Rosters.

A basic point, besides being part of a good start in this new experience, is undoubtedly the Roster. It is an essential tool that will help you and even to your rivals have a better experience with RPing, can start from a basic form with the names of the players and their ages, to biographies made with great detail and dedication by the members of the national team of each nation for each of your 25 (or however it many squad members you may have). The roster is useful for all of you, from those working on their RP and looking to report the best action of the game, to the one looking to make up stories, or seeking to promote their players in the world of sport. Remember that not only will a detailed sheet provide your opponents with a more accurate view of your squad, and hence will be better qualified to reference them in their own RP's, but you get yourself an RP bonus for it. How cool is that! So a good roster and a good RP prior to matchday 1 effectively scores double points.
Note that not only can be human players each national team, but it can also be rats, ponies, sheep, beans or even a mixture of them all together! You decide -follow the conventional path of everyday logic, or let your imagination into works of art of exceptional quality and creativity!

Strategy

Football is a vibrant sport that excites us greatly, but it is also a sport where strategy plays a fundamental role. Here is no exception, and you can choose how your team plays! Do you want to park the bus, defend with everyone behind the ball and hardly try to score? Or are you going to throw everything at scoring goals, but leave yourselves vulnerable at the back? Well, you can!

To do this, we have "Style Modifiers", which range from -5, a form of defense style "deadbolt-like-Catenaccio" up to +5 can be defined as the "total football" in maximum offensive play. It is not necessary to write the "Style Modifiers" in integer quantities, you can also be used in decimal numbers, we recommend you to use no more than two decimal places.
You can use anywhere from -5 to +5, you can be the lucky number, it can be your birthday, a randomly drawn number, what you think would most realistically fit your team or a number that appeared to you in dreams! Any amount within the range of -5 to + 5 is acceptable.

RPing permissions, cut-offs and important information.

Permissions are what you allow your opponent to do with your players. Do you allow them to choose your scorers? Do you allow them to card your players? What about sending them off via red card or double yellow card? And what about injuring them or finishing his career for injuries? And making all the goals of the match incredibly unbelievable and historical? What about kidnapping your entire team and making you lose by default or all kinds of other bizarre events? All of this is covered by our useful and practical permission box, which will be available for copy pasting at the end of this post.

Cut-off is the deadline when the hosts will stop grading RP's for that matchday (Any RP's posted after that will be graded for the next Matchday) and will proceed to scorinate the scores and then to post it to all of you, the hosts always has a time lapse to do that cut-off, our cut-offs are.

- Teams playing in Schiavonia's side (Or in another host venue located outside of Schiavonia but not in SJG): 20:00-22:00 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)

- Teams playing in San José Guayabal: 00:45-02:45 GMT.

To help you in issues related to times in your RL country, we present you our handy and good friend, the World Clock http://24timezones.com/.

It's noteworthy that the cut-off could be posted at some moment during the time lapse, so we suggest you to RP before the time lapse or in the first part of the lapse. Also our time lapses or calendar is not completely set in stone - all could be subject of change, but we will announce it as far in advance as possible to avoid inconvenience.

The stadia/stadiums and information of both nations will be posted in the next two posts of this thread. In those posts, you can find ideas for RPing, like writing about the country or nation that you'll play in and other interesting things, like culture, language, etc.

Extra RP bonus!

Throughout the Baptism of Fire, there are some special RPing ideas. These ideas are not compulsory, but could help you to earn a boost to your RP bonus, which then givse you even more chance of winning.

- BoF 56 All Star team: selecting an all-star team from the BoF participants' teams, and have them face a combined team from the host nations. This would take place after the final, while the hosts team would be open to feature players from our other IC hosts as well as San José Guayabal and Schiavonia. Selection would be based on player performances / profiles RPed throughout the tournament, with the most impressive making up the team - this also includes Managers/Coaches.

- Scouting from Guayabalense/Schiavone league teams: Depending of the performance of your players, RPed player profiles you could create and maybe their private lives if you feature that in your RPs, the teams from both nations will scout your player and will write good things about him/them, you can RP an answer and that will be useful to make a deal with teams of our leagues and give a launching platform to your nation's talent in the Multiverse.

- Interaction: RPing can be so much more fun if other people start getting involved in your story. Of course, we advise that you stick to the RP permissions that have been specified, but referring to what other people have RPed can make your RP better, too!

Main information:

Welcome to San Jose Guayabal, I'm Miguel Serrano, the president of this beautiful, beautiful country, then I will give you some important details about this country.

First let's start with a little history, mainly with basics.

Our nation was inhabited for many centuries, specifically from the ninth century BC, inhabited by indigenous nomads who formed a large settlement in what is now called "Lake Metropolitan", located near San Salvador, our capital.

We going back to closest date to today, specifically in the 14th century BC, a new ethnic group came from the Antarctic regions which lie south of our nation in what are now the "Territories Antarctic Guayabalenses" we mean the Spaniards who colonized our country and transformed it into an important cultural spot for Esportiva then. The discovery of new cities and new cultures was almost unstoppable, highlighting in the process the browser Luis Barbosa, a shrewd and skillful explorer who discovered the 70% of our country, including four major islands in our nation.

Not only shared their culture, but their religion and their language, giving rise to a multicultural society since its inception. Unfortunately those times of peace were shattered by two periods of war from 1989 to 2024, where the war ended with the hope and life of many people.

Since the peace accords were signed, our nation has been devoted to the welfare of others, making room for a tolerant Communist system compared to other systems in other social, where social and cultural freedoms normally prevail also noteworthy that Despite being a communist country, we have no problems with receiving foreign, even more, we include in terms of hospitality, this being a country that stands out in terms of tourism and as happiness, let alone "We are Pura Vida!" (We are Pure Life!".

In terms of infrastructure, San Jose Guayabal is characterized by a large number of hotels that tend to meet the needs of the most demanding clients, and a good transport system, consisting of inter-regional buses funded by the national government, besides the bullet train service covering major towns in the nation, a good amount of air routes between different cities, plus an excellent state highway system in the SJG, note that in all there is a limit highway established speed, although it is recommended to handle less than 150 kilometers per hour, but if there are speed limits on the outskirts of towns and cities, where you have to reduce speed to 60 kph in the suburbs and 50 kph on cities, the naming of streets is in Spanish and English, in addition to the measures listed length is measured with the metric system. Importantly system interconnecting each island ferries our nation quickly and inexpensively.

Our national currency is the GuAlSa, a strong currency if we talk about exchange globally (G$ 0.33 = $1.00 NSDollar or G$ 3.33 = NS$ 1.00), because it's a currency used in five countries, including Alianza Albos, Ratastan, Flammable American Sates and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk gorod, this country is well known for being one of the cheapest in all Esportiva, next we present you a chart with the prices of things you'll use in your stay.

Things you'll need in your stay, prices in NSDolars$ (NS$) and GuAlSa$ (G$)

-Hotel: NS$ 25-200 per night. G$ 7.5-60 per night.
-Bus transport in the cities: NS$1.00. G$0.33
-Bus transport to different cities: NS$ 0.70 - NS$ 25.00. G$0.23 - G$ 7.60
-Ferry between islands: NS$35. G$11.55
-Flights between cities: NS$ 40 - NS$ 100. G$12.12 - G$33.30
-Average cost of food: NS$3.50-NS$24.50. G$1.15-G$7.35
-Stadium ticket: NS$10-90. G$3.30-27.
-Bottle of water: NS$0.50. G$0.17.
-Public phone: NS$1 per call. G$0.33 per call.

The number for emergencies is 327 (FAS), reachable from any phone, be it mobile or a land-line. Inside some companies, you may find you first need to dial a 1 to reach an external line before dialing 327 as usual, though all companies (from “big business” to restaurants and shops) and other public venues (museums, stadiums, etc) are required by law to display adequate signing advising on this, also the 327 (FAS) comes from the local slang of danger: FAS.

Emergency vehicles are marked with the name of the service (be it Police, Fire, or Ambulance), and are also equipped with a siren and flashing either blue or red lights. If you encounter one of these vehicles while the lights, the sirens or both are active, please take extra care, and if necessary, pull over at the nearest and safest opportunity, using your turn signal to ensure that the driver of the emergency vehicle is aware of your actions.

Though unlikely, if you need medical care in San José Guayabal, it will not come with a cost to visitors with the appropriate travel insurance. You will find our hospitals are state-of-the-art, with the best equipment, treatments and employees available, in case you don't have a travel insurance, our medical staff will attend you, due to the Law of Professional Ethics, Morale and Humanity, which says that any person who needs to be helped in a hospital must be attended to save his/her life, so don't worry, your life will be safe here.

You will find that all police officers of the KGB are armed with either a standard pistol (9mm) or automatic gun (AK-47) depending of his branch of the KGB (Metropolitan, Civil, and Order Keepers) they belong to. However, this does not mean they should not be approached if you have a question. In San José Guayabal, the Police Officers have excellent training, and patrol areas they are familiar with, so if you are lost, they are often the best people to consult. First and foremost, though, they are keepers of the peace, and will not hesitate to involve themselves in anything they feel is likely to endanger members of the public, or cause criminal damage to private property.

Weather:
If you have to talk climates , San Jose Guayabal is definitely an interesting place in terms of these categories . It is one of the countries highlighted in Esportiva as to a better climate , having stable temperatures and within normal limits in many parts of this great nation of more than half a million square kilometers, with climates three varieties of climates throughout the nation.

Mild, temperate climate prevails in at least 40 % of the ountry , is the temperate climate of mid-mountain , with temperatures around average 17 ° C , in places like the mid-mountain area which is situated in Vladivostok or San Resume along with Juan Piedra Labrada , a city that despite being at 2900 meters above sea level, is characterized by a climate of mid-mountain , is mainly due to the location of SJG at low latitudes of Esportiva , very close the South Pole, the maximum temperatures are around 24 ° C in summer and minimum temperatures of -5 ° C are generated in the winter.

The northern zone of the country located in the Ramírez isthmus, is moderately severe winters due to its location in the mountains, with temperatures down to -35 ° C in a strong winter day or to -23.5 ° C which is the average temperature of the city in the winter, also characterized by heavy fog during October to March almost permanently , the maximum temperature in winter is just over 2 ° C but on average not more than -13 ° C, being a city with a pleasant climate for those who like the cold in the summer the city has rainy season , obtaining a minimum temperature of 3 ° C at night and a day extemely "Hot" a temperature of 27 °C, on average the city remains at 16 ° C, so it tends to have a moderate climate, rainfall reach 1,200 millimeters per month and as for snow up to 12 inches of snow fall, visibility in the worst case reaches 10 meters visibility at optimum day the people can have perfect visibility.

WELCOME TO SCHIAVONIA

WHO ARE WE?

We are Schiavonia! The hosts of World Cup 30 (when the nation was a little larger than it is now) are back! And they are friendlier than ever!

Everyone is welcome in Schiavonia, and it is the people even more than the hot climate, gorgeous beaches and luscious forests that make that happen. The people of Schiavonia live on the notion that they treat others in the same way that they would expect to be treated themselves, and thus take this to extremes. They will be incredibly friendly - you will never hear Schiavone fans jeer at an opposing team or be deliberately violent, and they very rarely lose their temper. Indeed, they are pacifists - weapons are not found in civil areas in Schiavonia - and there is usually incredibly stringent security to prevent them entering the country. This was broken at the Five-a-side World Cup, where a Valokicci fan shot a Gregoryisgodistan supporter in scenes never before seen in the nation, an incident that upped security even further. They believe in a great sense of justice, even to the point where it can be detrimental to their own benefit. One example of this was in a game against Gregoryisgodistan at the Cup of Harmony, where the team tried to score a goal for their opponents that they believed had been wrongfully disallowed and deliberately missed a penalty that they believed had been wrongly awarded. That game - the team won 1-0 - is heralded in the nation as a showing the world the virtues of Schiavone values.

However, despite the over-zealous friendliness and a sometimes less-than-intelligent facade put on by some, Schiavones can be thick skinned and resilient when they need to be, not least if they are suspicious that they are being taken advantage of. Oh, and if there's any excuse for a party, you know a Schiavone will throw one! And you think that there's more of you than us? Well, Schiavonia is protected by AORDO forces (they are the on;y ones with weapons), so try anything at your own peril!

Despite this, if you go to Valae, the welcome is not quite the same. Though the locals - known as Garundis - are taking part in a Schiavone educational program, the people are still primitive in their ways. As a result, they are more prone to violence as a form of retribution, a little more devious in their ways than their fellow islanders, and a little shy around outsiders - though they are more inclined to fight amongst themselves. We still haven't given them firearms, though. They'd never survive!

WHERE ARE WE?
We are a very small island nation in the north-east of Atlantian Oceania. If you can't find us on the map, that's because (as we just explained) we're very small. If you can't see us, here's a little assistance.

Image

The island has only three settlements, and a local population of just 7,000. The capital is New Kingsbury. It also happens to be the smallest of the three, with a population of just 700 Schivones. Craw is made up of Cafundélese-Schiavones, and is the nation's centre of commerce, with the main focus on the tourism industry - it is noted for its long, sandy, sunny beaches. Around 3,500 locals live there, but the population is swelled by migrant workers who promise to work to the Schiavone ideal for a decent enough wage. Valae is a considerable distance away (in Schavone terms) from the rest of the island, and also separated from the rest of the island by mountains. This is where the more primitive red-skinned Garundi people live. Their homeland was destroyed by a volcano, and while they also originated from the original Schiavonia, they are considerably less Schiavone than the people on the rest of the island.

Because of the investments in Craw, there is a high-quality roadway from the city to New Kingsbury, and about half way to Valae. The rest of the road system is made up of basic dust tracks. Travel times are Craw to New Kingsbury - 15-20 minutes; Craw to Valae - 60-75 minutes; New Kingsbury to Valae - 100-120 minutes. The respective locations of these settlements can be seen here.

Of course, first you have to get here. The main international transport hub is Craw Airport - the only airport on the island - which can be found in the northern suburbs of Craw by the road to New Kingsbury. Sea travel is also incredibly popular, so for alternatives, travel to Audioslavia or Thatius and take a boat to New Kingsbury or Valae respectively.

WHERE ARE WE GOING TO PLAY?
There are a number of stadia being played in around the island. These are some of the sports grounds used for domestic sports. Remember, it's a very small island, so not all of these grounds will be of the size you might be expecting...

King Francesco Stadium, Craw (Capacity: 63,000)
Image

The King Francesco Stadium is named after the King of Schiavonia when they first entered into international sports over 160 years ago. On the outside, it is a replica of Schiavonia's first ever national stadium, but under the surface, there are all of the trappings of a modern sporting arena. The new stadium is the home of Schiavonia's national team and domestic team 46ers, and has been built as a place for tourists to Craw to visit and take in a game as they tour the area on holiday.

The Field, New Kingsbury (Capacity: 7,000 + 14,000 temporary)
Image

The Field is another stadium that is a replica, this time of the stadium that was Schiavonia's home in the previous World Cup Qualifying campaign on their old island. Most of the same parts were used in construction, but some bits have been modified. Considering that only 700 live in New Kingsbury, the stadium - like all in Schiavonia - is far too big for the local population. But it is the home to the most Schiavone of all Schiavones, so a friendly welcome is guaranteed.

Valae Forest Bowl, Valae (Capacity: 3,500 + 2,500 temporary)
Image

Valae Forest Bowl is a stadium built amongst the trees in Schiavonia's South Western city of 3,000. Valae is the home of the Garundi people, and a devil to get to, so the experience of teams playing in Valae will be completely different to those elsewhere in Schiavonia. However, if the host nation are in town, then they will not be as patriotic and behind them as other parts of the country.

North Beach Stadium, Craw (Capacity: 6,500)
Image

North Beach Stadium might lack the investment of the KFS, but it is still in a tourist area of Craw, and is home to Schiavonia's Project +90 team. The stadium is usually full of bored tourists looking for a bit of shade, but it is playing host to the National Team whilst the KFS is otherwise occupied, so expect to see some of the best atmospheres going if your team play Schiavonia here.

Now, Schiavonia is far too small for hosting the entire tournament, so we thought we'd get by with a little help from our friends. Granted, we like to think of everyone as being our friends, so we had to choose a few of them. As a result, games will also be played in the following nations:

Groups
Group E - Kalumba
Group F - The Archregimancy
Group G - Gregoryisgodistan
Group H - Schiavonia

Two Round of 32 and One Round of 16 Games
1Ev4F, 2Gv3H - Nephara
1Fv4E, 2Hv3G - Nova Anglicana
1Gv4H, 2Ev3F - Ruentenbach
1Hv4G, 2Fv3E - Schiavonia

We would like to thank all of the nations that bidded - we didn't quite expect it to be so popular, and it pains us to turn willing host nations away when the quality of the bids was so high. We thank you all for getting involved, we really do!

Finally, Schiavonia have offered friendly games to all nations playing in Schiavonia during the Group Stage of the Baptism of Fire. For these games, they will be using exactly the same squad (though all one year older) as AOCAF44.

...for now, though, let's have those rosters!

Gregoryisgodistan Special Administrative Zone (GSAZ) National Soccer Team
Style Mod = +5

The Gregoryisgodistan Special Administrative Zone (GSAZ for short, acceptable on second reference and thereafter) is a territory and Special Administrative Zone of Gregoryisgodistan. Only Government VIPs who have been very loyal to Lord Almighty Gregory are allowed in. It is located on the eastern coast of Gregoryisgodistan in a small area of only a few square miles.

Most of the laws of Gregoryisgodistan do not apply, not that government VIPs would have to follow them anyway. However, this provides them a chance to disobey most laws without being subject to scrutiny by police who do not realize they are government VIPs. For instance, all food is legal in the GSAZ, not just prune juice and gruel. It is also legal to say "coconut."

Note that it is acceptable to refer to the team as a "national" team even though GSAZ is a territory. Additionally, the "national" anthem of the GSAZ is the same as the national anthem of Gregoryisgodistan and will be played before all matches. In the event that Gregoryisgodistan Special Administrative Zone plays Gregoryisgodistan during World Cup qualifying, the anthem will only be played once.

Since all the players are Government VIPs, they get to choose their own names. All of the names are quite weird. Several players have chosen names calling for death to nations on Gregoryisgodistan's Enemy List. The rest of the names are also highly insulting to nations on Gregoryisgodistan's Enemy List.

The GSAZ national team plays at the 1,500 seat GSAZ Stadium. The stadium also has a track and bleachers are only on one side.

FROM: Duke Stephan VII
TO: Comissar Bernando

Comissar Bernando, in the interest of increasing Czarch's international standing, I hereby decree that with utmost haste a national team of foot-ball shall be created with the intent to enter the 56th quadrennial Baptism of Fire tournament. This team, regardless of it's final results in the aforementioned Baptism of Fire tournament, will also compete in the 69th World Cup of foot-ball as well.

No amount of funding shall be withheld to ensure completion of this task. You are also tasked with the construction of a new stadium that will host our national team during the qualification stage of the World Cup. The stadium shall be built in Drask City, preferably near the riverside, though I will leave the exact details of the look, capacity and final location to you and the engineering and architectural crews.

Any suggestions as to how to proceed can be found here, thanks to the hosting committees of the two nations that will co-host the Baptism of Fire. You have 3 months from this date until the beginning of the Baptism of Fire tournament, and 16 months until the World Cup qualifications start.

Signed this Date (March 24, 2014 CE); Duke Stephan VII

Noble Patria tu hermosa bandera.

Sakhalin, despite being a nearly 100% ethnically russian, has their anthem in spanish due to Federal rule of the GuAlSa federation, which has formed with SJG and Alianza Albos, but the populace understand the lyrics, because at least 75% speaks Spanish fluently.

Lyrics in Spanish

¡Noble patria!, tu hermosa bandera
expresión de tu vida nos da:
bajo el límpido azul de tu cielo
blanca y pura descansa la paz.

En la lucha tenaz, de fecunda labor,
que enrojece del hombre la faz;
conquistaron tus hijos - labriegos sencillos -
eterno prestigio, estima y honor,

¡Salve, oh tierra gentil!
¡Salve, oh madre de amor!
Cuando alguno pretenda tu gloria manchar,
verás a tu pueblo, valiente y viril,
la tosca herramienta en arma trocar.

¡Salve, oh patria!, tu pródigo suelo
dulce abrigo y sustento nos da;
bajo el límpido azul de tu cielo,
¡vivan siempre el trabajo y la paz!

Lyrics in English

Noble homeland, your beautiful flag
Proof of your life it gives us
Under the unsullied blue of your skies,
Peace rests, white and pure.

In the tenacious struggle of fruitful toil,
That which brings a glow to men's faces,
Your sons, simple farm hands,
Gained eternal renown, esteem and honor.
Eternal renown, esteem and honor.

Hail, gentle homeland!
Hail, mother of love!
When anyone should attempt to besmirch your glory,
You will see your people, valiant and virile,
The rustic tool into a weapon transform.

Hail, O homeland! Your prodigal soil
Sweet shelter and sustenance gives us.
Under the unsullied blue of your sky,
May peace and labor ever live!

Lyrics in Russian

Благородный родина, ваша красивый флаг
выражение вашей жизни дает нам;

Сладкий дает нам средства к существованию и жилья;
под прозрачной синеве вашего неба
Всегда жить работу и мира!

Postby Raussland » Sat Jun 21, 2014 2:05 am

Raussland Football Association presents the squad for the Baptism of Fire 56.

Football on Raussland was brought along by the first ship of settlers from West Wray in 1827, but was not formally governed until the formation of the City Cup in 1924 when 6 amateur teams from Moreton competed on a damp patch of grass in the city centre.

The City Cup evolved to contain 24 teams, but from all within Moreton, and clubs from outside the capital were only admitted in 1943. In 1951, when independence came, the Moreton Association of Football Cubs (MAFC) set up a basic league system, consisting of two divisions: Moreton, and Country. The Moreton division often created the stronger teams as they had over half the population and the vast majority of infrastructure.

The Leagues continued in that way until the Great Earthquake of 1979, which badly damaged much of Moreton and put a halt on the football competition completely for two years and the centre of footballing prowess shifted 150 kilometres down the coast to Sunset Bay, where the two current powerhouse clubs: Syndham Athletic & Sunset Heart reside, divided by just 40m of river.

Football in Moreton has regrown slowly over the last 30 years, with the new national stadium, Timber Park, being opened for the national team after 12 years of rebuilding and renovation, and the rise of clubs like Moreton Earthquakes & East Moreton City have steadily rebuilt the city's footballing reputation. The two divisions joined together in 1999,to create the Union Division 1, and that saw a much greater improvement in the standard of football, and the level has returned to pre-1979 levels, perhaps even higher.

The team made its debut in the recent Campionato Esportiva, but despite a decent showing in which they won two group games, they missed out on qualification for the next round on the last day of group play.

The team is a strong, tightly-knit unit, who, despite not having the world's most technically gifted players, certainly know how to play together as a team. A rock solid defence is aided by a versatile midfield and a potent attacking force.

Image

The 23 man national team squad has been drawn from the teams of the Union Division, with the core coming from the two Sunset Bay clubs previously mentioned.

Name - Age - Club

Goalkeepers

Nathaniel 'Nate' Bowers, 24, Sunset Heart
Nathaniel, known as Nate to just about everyone in the world, is the beating heart of the defence. Known for his power and strength in and around the goal, Nate provides a solid base at the back of the team which allows the front to express itself in the knowledge that they won't leak too many. Age is on his side too, so expect years of quality keeping.

Alastair Constable, 28, East Moreton City
Bowers' understudy, despite being four years older than him, Constable was for a few years Heart's Number One, but the arrival of Bowers pushed him out the door, and he has since been trying to get back to Heart. A smaller, more agile keeper than Bowers, Constable offers a different brand of keeping, especially useful in penalty shoot-outs.

Nick Coombes, 36, Corlund United
The wily old dog of Rausslandic football, Coombes has been a long time servant of his club Corlund United, who haven't exactly set the world on fire. Season after season he has been a staunch presence between the sticks, with his solid hands and strong boot.

Defenders

LB: Gareth Atkinson, 25, FC Rortand
A sturdy left-back with an eye for bombing runs forward, Atkinson fits perfectly into the manager's system of having a totally shiftable outside. An incredibly versatile player, his speed down the wings make him very dangerous on the counter-attack, but his defence is not anything to be taken lightly either.

LB: William 'Wild' Brown 24, Syndham Athletic
Widely known as a complete nutter, Will Brown has not earned the name Wild easily. Two seasons ago, he saw red for a stamp on an opposing player, was banned for three games, came back, and promptly got banned for three more after two yellow cards. He has a record 14 red cards in his career, and has been fined and banned more than anyone can remember, but he is still nonetheless a terrifying match for the opposition.

LCB: Leigh Cook, 29, Sunset Heart
The strong spine of the team is founded on the defensive efforts of Cook. A tireless competitor, Leigh is up for every single challenge, regardless of his own personal state. He gives 100% every single game and has gotten considerable reward for his efforts, being named Player of the Season last season during Sunset Heart's championship winning campaign.

LCB: Chris Mortensen, 30, Lorretown Rams
Another strong, fit centre back which the Union Division seems to be pumping out at the moment. Prone to lapses in concentration and focus in the final minutes.

RCB: Paddy Graham, 19, FC Rortand
Young and inexperienced, with just 5 senior caps to his name, yet Paddy has been tipped to be the next leader of the national side. A towering centre back with immense skill and strength.

RCB: Ben Forrester, 25, Moreton Earthquakes
The mastermind at the head of the defensive operation. Forrester is always active in both attacking and defending set pieces, constantly vocal and calling people to and from various positions. A tactical master, he's always in the ear of the both the captain and the coach, and his words are always heeded.

CB: Harvey McDonald, 29, Carrington Wolves FC

RB: Kim Malton, 24, East Moreton City
A right-back by training, but can easily fit in anywhere in the defence or midfield. Very useful for counter-attacking football, as he's quite quick and decent with a ball at his feet. Links up well with players further up the field.

RB: Simon Harris, 25, Lorretown Rams
A more traditional, more heavy-hitting right-back, and thus doesn't get the starting place ahead of Malton. Will often be substituted on for Malton however, when the focus is on defence.

Midfielders

LM: Matt Trafford, 21, Sunset Heart
Seriously quick, and likes to show it. There's nothing Trafford does better than get the ball at his feet and motor down the wing, often reaching the byline or similar areas and darting in a low, fizzing cross. Main proprietor of assists within the team.

LM: Alex Edmunds, 28, East Moreton City
A more central player than Trafford, Edmunds likes to move forward with the central midfielders. He gets goals as opposed to assists, but lacks the speed to match the superior Trafford.

CM: Orlan Greene, 24, Syndham Athletic
One half of the Syndam Althetic central midfield duo, Greene is the more defensive of the two. A rock in the middle of the park who won't be budged even by the most awesome of teams. When he gets forward however, he does like the occasional long-range pop at goal.

CM: Brinus Larson, 29, Syndham Athletic
A playmaker wherever there was one, Larson is a master at distributing the ball all over the park. The attacking players run a network, and Larson is the hub of it. He sets most moves in motion with a brilliant spied long ball or a cute chipped through ball, and is always looking to work the ball into space for his team-mates. Brinus has been at the heart of the Syndham Athletic side which has won the title for the last two seasons, notching up 17 assists last year out.

CM: Avery Osbourne, 24, Moreton Earthquakes
A tenacious, workhorse of a player who fits better into the role of defensive midfielder. Avery goes into every tackle with the sole intention of coming out of the other side with the ball. A bit reckless, and likes to get off his feet.

RM: Jeremy St James, 26, Sunset Heart
Another wing player with lightning speed and great footwork. St James completes the Sunset Bay midfield quartet, and brings dazzling close ball control to the table. Deadly in one-on-one situations, St James can be a real headache to even the best defences in the world.

RM: James Harmon, 31, Blue Mountain Rangers FC
A tall, strong winger who likes to make bombing runs down the right wing and swing in crosses, but can occasionally neglect his defensive duties.

AM: Jamie Winslow, 24, Moreton Earthquakes
Plays in the pocket behind Brenlyn Moss up front, and always tries to make the attacking third his own in every game. Jamie loves to make bustling runs into the penalty area and his tricky feet make him very difficult to deal with in tight situations. He always seems to be to do something with the ball, regardless of where or how.

AM: Matthew Nelson, 19, Carrington Wolves FC
Young, inexperienced, but very talented. Will play a supporting role to Jamie Winslow, but expect him to make his breakthrough in a few years.

Strikers

ST: Brenlyn Moss, 25, Sunset Heart
As the lone striker up front, Moss does the work of two. He is constantly moving, always getting into the right areas with great pace and agility. He is a clinical goal scorer, ending the last Union Division season with 27 goals, 7 ahead of his nearest rival. He combines two styles of striker: a poacher, who's always there to finish off the move, and a brilliant individual maestro, who can conjure goals out of nothing. The star player of the team.

ST: Patrick Wellach, 22, Cape Onoria
A fantastically talented footballer, it's just a shame that he plays in exactly the same era and position as Brenlyn Moss. A tall striker who likes to get on the end of crosses and corners, Wellach gives a different striking option, preferring the long ball option for his goals.

(The subjects of my WC/BoF RPs)

Manager: Anthony 'Tony' Rice, 56
Ex Top level player who achieved over 200 caps for the Heart. Coached Rortand for 3 seasons before becoming Heart coach for 6. Took over as National coach in time for Campionato Esportiva.
Assistant Manager: Dwight Anderson, 39
A promising winger in his early days, but a series of injuries seriously curtailed his career, so he turned to coaching. In charge of Carrington Wolves before taking up the assistant's job. Not impartial to a drink or two.
Head Coach: 'Crazy' Lee Dunn, 44
A notoriously hard defender in his playing days, he matured into a notoriously angry coach.

Team Stats Analyst: Nathan 'Bucky' Buck, 25
Nathan graduated from Sunset Bay Royal University with a 1st Class Degree in maths and a first-class passion for football. He looks after the stats of the team, and (so the story goes) once beat Polar Islandstates 11-0 on the World Cup 67 Video game with Lymantatia, on World Class difficulty level.
Tech Intern: Mark 'Fuzzy' Brestol, 21
Not paid, yet does four times the work of anyone else in the camp.
Physio: Lucy Kulmer, 26
Pessimist and vegetarian, that's about it.
Physio: Arianna 'Ari' Morgan, 25
Best friends with Lucy, they generally go around being dark and shifty.
Media Liason: Kerri O'Brien, 29
Former marketing whizzkid, Kerri has not actual footballing experience, playing or otherwise. She says she prefers tennis. Brought into the set-up to deal with the Rausslandic Press, known for their vicious dishonesty.
Player's Assistant: Luke Bryony, 28
A dedicated footballer who never quite made it, but is always trying to chip in to the manager with some tactical advice.
Player's Assistant: Craig Nielsen, 33
Originally from Wray, but he cut his losses and emigrated to Raussland.
Fitness Advisor: Henry 'Killer' Tarnen, 36
Likes kale. And sit-ups. And telling people to do them/eat them, even if they're not actually in the team.

The Gentleman's Sporting Weekly
APG Prepare for Topping Performances in the Baptism of Fire

The Beautiful Game...

Indeed it is a beautiful game, one infested with ruffians from other countries indeed, however, our splendid lads will be lending a dash of sportsmanship and fair play that we hope will spread.

This is, at least, is all we wish for as the Footballing Association of Absurdly Polite Gentleman announced its final squad for the quickly incoming Baptism of Fire. It also announced its list of aims, which were as noble as one could hope. They left it as simple as possible, they wished for manager Sir Donald Humphrey to lead his team to play "In a stylish manner, and to play in a fair and respectful manner, preventing the team from conceding any fouls."

Moreover, the team will also be showing their sophistication through their kit, with the team playing in their finest evening attire. We hope the players manage to keep their attire in check, however, a change of clothes will be provided. Moreover, taking from the tradition of a more natural sport to our nation of gentlemen, cricket, we will be serving teas to any nation that wishes to be indulged in them during the half-time interval. The tea will include, tea, of course, along with sandwiches, and other finger foods.

The most modest PRINCIPALITY of VALDIVIOLA would like to introduce its National Football Team, formed for the first time in history for the 56th BAPTISM of FIRE!
Image

INTRODUCTION
Whilst Valdiviola has a proud footballing history, this history has remained, until now, entirely domestic. Being a small nation, the League has but a small number of teams and therefore a small pool of players to choose from, and as such, has not troubled itself with international competition. Now, for the first time, the country will put forward 23 players to represent more than 100 years of footballing heritage on the international stage in a bid to broaden the country's sporting horizons and the possibilities for its most talented athletes. So without further ado, it is with pleasure I introduce to you our team...

KIT
Image

ROSTER, STYLE & FORMATION
STYLE – Despite a strong history in defence, De Simone has gone for an attacking formation and a forward thinking line-up for the most part. Style Modifier = +2

ROSTER

Image
GK – Luigi MORETTI - #1
Age: 26 Height: 6ft3
Description: Moretti was the undisputed choice for the number 1 shirt of the first Valdiviolan National Team. Young by goalkeeping standards, Moretti is a vocal, confident ‘keeper who commands the penalty box and is also surprisingly agile for a big man. Last season saw Moretti break the record for most clean sheets in a Valdiviolan domestic season, averaging 131 minutes between goals, at one point keeping 9 clean sheets in a row (in itself a league record).

RB – Giuseppe DE ANGELIS - #2
Age: 28 Height: 5ft10
Description: De Angelis is expected to start on the right side of defence ahead of Ciano Rebecchi due to his superior defensive capabilities and tireless man-marking. Not the fastest full back, De Angelis is known for his no-nonsense style of defending, preferring to “boot it out, if in doubt” rather than attempt a foray forward.

CD – Leonardo MARCHINI - #5
Age: 29 Height: 6ft4
Description: Marchini is the tallest man in the side and as such is often tasked with marking the most dangerous header of the ball when defending set pieces. The same applies at the other end, as Marchini is often seen towering above the opposition when his side have a corner. Marchini is expected to start ahead of the promising Benedetto Gozzoli due to his experience and prowess in the air.

CD – Luca NOTA (Captain) - #4
Age: 32 Height: 5ft10
Description: Nota’s was probably the first name on coach De Simone’s team sheet when he was asked to create the first National Team and was the obvious choice for captain. Nota may be getting on in footballing standards but he has arguably gotten better with age, being the most outstanding defensive talent in Valdiviola for over a decade. A leader on and off the pitch, Nota has more League winners medals than anyone in history and is on course to break the league appearance record within the next couple of years.

LB – Cristiano ROTANZI - #3
Age: 26 Height: 5ft11
Description: On the left, Rotanzi is the opposite of De Angelis on the right – he never stops running. Rotanzi is seen in the opposition half and much as his own but this doesn’t stop him doing his defensive duties. A brilliant crosser of the ball, he will be helped out by his captain in defence against more skilful right-sided attackers.

DM – Andrea LORETTO - #21
Age: 27 Height: 5ft10
Description: Loretto is the playmaker of the side, being the man with the most assists in each of the last three seasons. Not known for his pace or physicality, Loretto has incredible vision and can land the ball on a sixpence from 50 yards. Expect Loretto to run the Valdiviolan game and pull all the strings, as well as being the set-piece master of the team, his teammates call him “The Maestro”.

DM – Terenzio CAPILINI - #6
Age: 28 Height: 6ft0
Description: Capilini will play alongside or just behind Loretto in the midfield and will be the muscle in the middle of the park. Capilini won’t stop all day snapping the heels of the opposition and closing down in the middle and will happily muck in at the back. Whilst not in the team for his passing, Capilini will give the ball to Loretto whenever possible but will be the main ball-winner in the midfield.

AM – Marco DI TELLA - #10
Age: 23 Height: 5ft7
Description: Di Tella is part of a front four which is inter-changeable, so don’t be surprised to see him pop up on the wings too, but he will start just behind the main striker and hope to feed off him. Whilst not being as outstanding a talent as others, Di Tella will be busy all day long causing problems for a defence and making space for Loretto to move up into.

RW – Sebastiano PRATALI - #8
Age: 29 Height: 5ft6
Description: Pratali is the out-and-out winger in the starting XI, preferring to stick to the right flank to put in a cross or cut inside on the left flank, being predominantly right-footed. Pratali will dribble with the ball all day long, and gained the ominous accolade of being the most fouled man in the league last season, for the fourth season running.

LW – Michele FANASCA - #7
Age: 30 Height: 5ft11
Description: Fanasca usually plays striker for his domestic side but will make way for the more talented Nocerino in the national side. This doesn’t mean that Fanasca is any less dangerous, having scored more goals than anyone in Valdiviolan league history and being the season-ending top-scorer a record 7 times. Many believe Fanasca to be past his best, but by all accounts, he’s still got a eye for a goal.

CF – Stefano NOCERINO - #20
Age:21 Height: 5ft10
Description: Nocerino is the outstanding young talent in the side. Despite being young, he wrestled the top-scorer title away from Fanasca last season in a fiercely contested league season. Nocerino has it all, pace, power, finishing and above all a great footballing brain, never being out of position and always knowing how to unlock even the safest of defences. His captain has described him simple as “unplayable”.

Image
GK – Livio BENOLDI - #12
Age: 33 Height: 6ft2

GK – Benaldo CONFALONI - #23
Age: 30 Height: 6ft0

RB – Ciano REBECCHI - #22
Age: 29 Height: 5ft7

CD – Ettore BRUNI - #13
Age: 24 Height: 6ft1

CD – Benedetto GOZZOLI - #19
Age: 19 Height: 6ft2

DM – Rodrigo GIAMPA - #15
Age: 30 Height: 6ft0

AM – Tino DE ZERBI - #16
Age: 26 Height: 5ft9

RM – Ciro CAMPADELLI - #17
Age: 25 Height: 5ft8

CM – Arnaldo SAVERINO - #18
Age: 21 Height: 5ft10

LW – Pierpaolo MAGGETTI - #14
Age: 20 Height: 5ft6

RW – Raffaele DI LORETO - #9
Age: 22 Height: 5ft10

CF – Francesco Franceschi - #11
Age: 32 Height: 6ft0

FROM: Comissar Bernando
TO: Directors of Propaganda, Construction, Sport and Media.
RE: The memo from Our Glorious Duke Stephan VII

We have just 3 months to compete the first stage of the plan. The sports and propaganda directors will work in concert with the media director to create a suitable advertisement to entice our population to participate in the tryouts. And include women as well, so not to put up a anti-feminist bias to the world. There will be a stipend, to be determined later as to the total amount of compensation and salary for all who make the final roster, include that information in the advertising.

Within the next week, the director of construction will start accepting work bids for the construction of our new stadium in Drask City. The Duke left the details up to the bidders, but ensure that the stadium has all the mondern amenities, as we will be having foreign dignitaries and fans here during the qualifying stages, and we DO NOT want to seem backwards to them.

We will have a meeting next Tuesday at 7am promptly to discuss the memo and other particular matters involving this matter.

Signed this date (March 24, 2014 CE) Comissar Bernando

Novach National Football Team

The Novach National Football Team is the official association football team of the Republic of Novach. The team is organized and governed by the Novach Football Association, which is in charge of appointing the team's coaching staff and selecting players for matches. The team is currently unranked in the KPB System. The team takes part in WCC-sanctioned events, such as the Baptism of Fire and qualifying for the World Cup, although the team has never made the World Cup proper.

Coaching Staff

Varlam Zoric - Manager - 48 years - 3 wins - 4 losses - 1 draws
Varlam Zoric is the manager of the Novach national team. He was a surprising choice to many, as most fans thought that the NFA would pick a coach from the N-League. However, Zoric brings a determination and energy matched by none to his job. The major priority for Zoric is that his teams is physically fit enough to compete with anyone. Because of this, he uses a boot camp environment and demands unrelenting discipline from his players. Zoric is a good tactician, although most strategy is drawn up by assistant coaches. At best, he is a good motivator and leader who wills his team to victory; at worst, he is a glorified strength and conditioning coach who incites training camp mutinies with his disciplinarian attitude.

Kruno Antoniou - Assistant Manager - 52 years
Kruno Antoniou is the assistant manager of the Novach national team. He is a loyal longtime friend of Zoric who thrives working with his friend. He is responsible for most of the tactics of the team and drew up the 1-3-4-2 formation that the team uses, as well as most of the set piece plays that the team tries. He also has a much more positive attitude than Zoric, and they often play a sort of good-cop, bad-cop role, with Zoric blasting a player for poor performance and Antoniou sympathizing with him. Despite his important role in the team's strategy, he doesn't have the ruthlessness needed to be a winning coach on the international circuit, although he has been linked with N-League positions before.

Pavel Martinek - First Team Coach - 38 years
Ferapont Chalupnik - Goalkeeper Coach - 56 years
Adam Myska - Strength and Conditioning Coach - 34 years
Mirko Reznik - Equipment Manager - 64 years
Daniil Maruska - Athletic Trainer - 41 years
Miho Orlov - Physiotherapist - 55 years

Roster

Goalkeepers
1. Atanas Fiala - Athletic Oznaca - 27 years - 8 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
Fiala is the starting goalkeeper for the national side, and is currently in great form, coming off of a stellar season for Athletic Oznaca. Although, Oznaca are a relatively-low budget club, Fiala guided them to a fourth-place finish while giving up the fewest goals in the league. Fiala is very tall and quick, known as "Macka" (cat) to some fans for his reflexes. He does sometimes make poor decisions, such as coming out for passes or through balls when he should let his defense take care of them. This leads to some soft goals for the opposing team. However, his physical gifts usually allow him to overcome any bad decisions that he makes.

2. Mijo Mlakar - Kral United - 28 years - 2 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
23. Blago Hlavac - Arsenal Sumar - 28 years - 1 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists

Sweepers
6. Bosko Skalicky - Kral United - 27 years - 8 caps - 0 goals - 1 assists
Skalicky can truly be considered the keystone for the Novach national team. Due to the 1-3-4-2 formation that Novach plays, Skalicky plays as a sweeper, a position that is considered antiquated and outdated in most circles, but one that is revered among Novach fans. Skalicky's style of play might best be described as that of a rover. He plays all over the field, sort of like a box-to-box midfielder. However, he has a knack for getting himself into position to break up counterattacks, one of his main roles on the field. He is not extraordinarily fast, but he is very strong and is a sharp passer. He isn't particularly strong in the air, so he usually stays on the edge of the box on set kicks, ready to boot the ball back into the offensive zone.

4. Duro Svoboda - Olympic Prednic - 25 years - 4 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists

Fullbacks

3. Damir Vavra - Spartka Misija - 28 years - 8 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
Vavra is the starting left fullback for the national team. A solid player, but nothing special, Vavra is little help on offense. However, he is a determined defender and a smart tackler, rarely getting called for unnecessary fouls. He is not fast, but he knows how to position himself well and works well with the other defenders on his line. In games where Novach is down late, he may be substituted for Aron Kopecky, who provides more on offense but also leaves the left wing exposed. Vavra is a good man-marker, but he is often forced to cover a zone due to the strategy implemented by the Nova coaching staff.

12. Bozidar Chara - Athletic Oznaca - 22 years - 8 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
Chara is the starting center fullback for the national team. Although many managers would hesitate to start a 22-year old in important tournaments, especially in a position as vital as center fullback, the managers have full confidence in Chara's abilities. Chara is probably the most physically gifted defender on the national team, and he backs this up with a high game IQ. Chara is fast, tall, and strong, and has a big boot that he uses both offensively and defensively. He is a good tackler, although he struggles when he goes to the ground sometimes. Some pundits worry that he may not be able to handle the stress of starting in a major tournament, but the coaching staff has assured journalists that he will be ready.

13. Alen Navratil - Olympic Prednic - 28 years old - 8 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
Navratil is the starting right fullback for the national team. He is a good defender, although compared to the other members of the back line, he is the weak link. However, he provides a little bit more on offense than the others, and has enough speed to make runs down the right side. He can pick out a good cross and understands how to make good overlapping runs. He can be targeted by opposing wingers or strikers, and will struggle if teams overload his zone. However, he will have help from the central midfielders to cover some of his mistakes. He sometimes gets nervous on the ball and is prone to bad giveaways in the defensive zone.

15. Aron Kopecky - FK Sever - 25 years old - 5 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
18. Ladislav Strno - Kral United - 28 years old - 4 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
16. Vilen Sedlak - Riznicka City - 26 years old - 3 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists

Central Midfielders
14. Cedomir Radovan - Olympic Prednic - 27 years old - 8 caps - 1 goals - 0 assists
Radovan is a true box-to-box midfielder. He plays in a central role, distributing passes and organizing the offense. He has a wicked shot that he can curl in from anywhere in the attacking zone and he has a knack for seeing runs before they even start. He takes most of the team's free kicks and can usually get a ball on target, if not in the net. Radovan is a little bit slower than most box-to-box midfielders, but he makes up for this with incredible stamina and determination. He is nothing special in the air, but he uses his body well to get position, even too well sometimes, leading to fouls. Radovan is one of the leaders of the team.

5. Arkhip Filipov - Arsenal Sumar - 28 years old - 8 caps - 0 goals - 1 assists
Filipov is more of a defensive midfielder. When Radovan goes forward, Filipov stays back to cover him, and helps to stop counterattacks, along with Bosko Skalicky. Because of this, Filipov is not much use on offense. However, he is a very good tackler and hustles for every 50-50 ball, making them more like 80-20 balls. Filipov is deceptively quick, and he plays well in the air, using his head to clear balls on corner kicks. He is often assigned to the other team's best striker as a man marker, and is able to frustrate his opponent with his physical style of play. Late in games when the team is down, he will usually be substituted out for Vlahovic, who is more powerful in the offensive zone, or Gavrilyuk, who is faster and can make runs into the opponent's penalty box.

19. Emil Vlahovic - Riznicka City - 23 years old - 4 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
21. Eduard Gavrilyuk - Spartka Misija - 21 years old - 3 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists

Wingers
10. Valentin Hornak - FK Sever - 27 years old - 8 caps - 1 goals - 1 assists
Hornak is the left winger on the Novach national team. He is a very good passer and is good on the counterattack. Hornak has good speed and can also take free kicks if needed. He is a good defender, but not great, and is a little bit short to be a force in the air. He won't score too much, but he is a good teammate and leader and is a good player in the attacking build-up. On corner kicks, he often gets passed to on short corners, or at least draws an opposing defender out to cover him. He has a strong motor, and has the stamina to play the full 90 minutes if needed.

7. Simo Horvat - Olympic Prednic - 23 years old - 8 caps - 0 goals - 1 assists
Horvat is the right winger on the Novach national team. He is even faster than Hornak, having been clocked at 33.6 km/hour in training and slightly slower in games. Because of this, he is very good on the counterattack and can get back to help defend. However, once he has the ball, he often struggles. He is not a great skiller, and a poor start to the game can lower his confidence, reducing him to an extra defender. Horvat has a good shot, but he often gives up good opportunities to shoot in favor of passing the ball, something that many fans find very frustrating. If Horvat starts off poorly, he could be replaced by Nemec or Honza in the starting lineup.

8. Nazar Nemec - Kral United - 25 years old - 5 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
25. Maksim Honza - Rocket Luka - 25 years old - 4 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists

Strikers
17. Viktor Starek - Kral United - 25 years old - 8 caps - 2 goals - 1 assists
Starek is a confusing mix between a playmaker and a target man. He is strong and can use his body well, but he is not quite big enough to be a true target man. And, he is skilled, but not quite skilled enough to be a true playmaker. Either way, Starek is best inside the box. He is good at finding the right shot or the right pass from inside the 18, and he is also very good with his head, scoring many of his goals off of corner kicks or free kicks. He doesn't really come back to defend, but he does help out on the edge of the box on corner kicks, where he starts the attack by passing to Horvat, Hornak, or Smolak once he gets the ball. Starek has the capability to be the leading scorer for the team, but only if the ball finds him in the right situations.

11. Dejan Smolak - Arsenal Sumar - 23 years old - 8 caps - 1 goals - 0 assists
Smolak is more of a classic center forward than Starek. He isn't exceedingly strong, but he is very quick and uses his pace wisely. Smolak is the most skilled player on the team technically, and has a library of turns, feints, and jukes that he uses to get past defenders. He is sometimes criticized for focusing on the goal too much when there are better passing options available. However, he is only 23, so, coaches believe that as he matures as a player, he will start looking for other options, rather than just shooting. Smolak usually makes runs to the far post on set pieces, because he can be neutralized in the air, but is harder to mark in space. He doesn't have great stamina, so he is often replaced by Filipov (if the game is tied), Cermak (if Novach is down), or an extra central midfielder (if Novach is leading) late in games.

20. Adrian Filipov - Dinamo Riznicka - 28 years old - 5 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists
9. Aleksei Cermak - Kral United - 21 years old - 4 caps - 0 goals - 0 assists

Formation and Strategy

Novach plays a 1-3-4-2 formation, a variation on the 1-3-3-3. The 1-3-4-2 has a roving sweeper in the back behind the line of defense. However, the sweeper still has some offensive duties. There are then three fullbacks. These fullbacks are responsible mainly on defense, however, one fullback often plays as a wingback in the Novach system, meaning that he has some part in the offense. Ahead of them are two central midfielders who are positioned in the holding role. One of these midfielders is usually the captain and is responsible for leading the offense. On this team, Cedomir Radovan is the captain. Slightly ahead of these players and on the sides are two wingers. These wingers have to be very fast because they have duties on offense and defense both. Finally, two central forwards play at the top of the formation. The classic Novach forward is more of a target man than a playmaker, although this changes depending on personnel.

Novach relies very heavily on the counterattack. The team aren't bad passers, but the offense is not conducive to holding the ball for extensive periods of time. Because of this, opposing teams will often hold 55% possession or more. However, Novach uses its speed on the wings and a "transition player", usually a forward or a midfielder, to start the counterattack. Transition players must be quick thinkers, fast on their feet, and good with the ball. On this team, Viktor Starek is the transition player.

Novach teams are also very good on set pieces. Teams train extensively on corner kicks and free kicks. The biggest strategy that Novach uses on corner kicks is a combination of a flick-on and a back post run, or, the short corner. On this team, Cedomir Radovan takes most corner kicks on the left, and Alen Navratil takes most corner kicks on the right. In the flick-on strategy, a tall player is put before the goal to flick the ball on to the back post with his head. A second player then makes a delayed run to the back post to try to clean up the flicked-on ball. This strategy is used against teams with relatively slow defenses, because it counts on the opposing team not being able to keep up with the late runner. On this team, Arkhip Filipov is usually the flicker, while Dejan Smolak is the runner. In the short corner strategy, the corner taker makes a pass to a second player on the edge of the box, who then plays it in. On left corner kicks, Valentin Hornak is usually the short corner taker. On right corner kicks, Bosko Skalicky is usually the short corner taker. On free kicks, Novach likes to use the runner strategy without the flicker, by lifting the ball past defenders towards the back post. Smolak is usually the runner in that situation again. Valentin Hornak takes most indirect kicks, while he and Cedomir Radovan share duties on free kicks that are intended for goal.

On defense, Novach uses a mix of man and zonal marking. The sweeper plays as a rover, cleaning up any balls that go long. The fullbacks usually play zones as well. One central midfielder is usually assigned to the opposing team's best striker or attacking midfielder. On this team, Arkhip Filipov is that "marking midfielder." The other central midfielder plays more of a zone in front of the defense. The defensive duties of the wingers vary depending on the game. On teams that like to hold possession, the wingers will often man-mark opposing midfielders. However, on teams that rely more on the counterattack, the wingers play more of a zone. Marking on set pieces and throw-ins is mandatory for Novach players. Any player that is seen not pulling his load on defense, especially on set pieces, will be quickly substituted and benched. Novach defenses usually use a small wall (2-3) people on free kicks, although against teams with celebrated free kick takers, walls can be bigger.

Timbermunich Soccer Squad
Hardwoods

Background
The Lumberjacks or Jacks, as they are often called, that make up the Hardwoods’ roster are a brawny bunch plucked from the limbs of Great TimberOaks which stand deep within the Great Timbermunich Forest. These Great TimberOaks are massive trees that make up the central portion of the Great Timbermunich Forest, the trees stand at nearly 424 meters tall with trunks that can reach upwards of 32 meters in diameter. It is said that these Lumberjacks once selected spend their entire life within the Great Timbermunich Forest. To be a Jack in Timbermunich is a great honor and they are now selected by The Great Battle Axe while still in utero. They are tasked with guarding the Great Timbermunich Forest from all harm (natural or otherwise) starting at their birth and continuing to their death, that is if they actually do die as no one has ever witnessed a Jacks death nor has a Jacks body ever been discovered void of life they seem to vanish from existence once they reach an estimated 250 years of forest protection. It is also said that each of the Great TimberOaks has a single Jack to watch along with the shared duty over the rest of the Great Timbermunich Forest. If true this would mean that there are approximately 450 thousand Jacks, there are also nearly 100000 trees (multiple genomes) per living Timbermunichers (everyday folks: 50 million) so there are a great number of trees to watch over.

You may be asking what this has to do with a soccer team, well you see the Jacks get a small senescence in which they are able to leave the Great Timbermunich Forest and they choose to play sports during this abscission time. Much of the lore around the Jacks seems to indicate this is their final farewell before vanishing from the forest. It is unknown if a Jack gets more than one senescence or not, we have seen some Jacks on more than one cycles roster, but since the legends are not written down we don’t know if this is due to the length of ones senescence or if they have more than one. They do seem to stick with the more strength and power sporting events, which we attribute to their physical stature and strength. After all they spend their entire life wielding one or sometimes two Double Bit Great Felling Axe, an axe that no normal human can lift. This doesn’t mean we don’t see them in finesse sports; it’s just more common for them to choose physical sports more during their senescence.

les oiseaux announce baptism squad
the twenty-five members of the saint jamesian national team revealed
ImageImageImage
The Baptism 56 will see the début of the new kits for the national team.

San Salvador, San José Guayabal / New Kingsbury, Schiavonia – As Les Oiseaux make their début in real international competition, national team coach Jose Manuel de Rosas has made the official announcement: the twenty-five men who will attempt to take the silverware for the Saint James Islands. These men come from all over the country, with twelve squads represented on the national team. In the official announcement, De Rosas praised the twenty-five, calling them "the pride of a footballing nation". Some Saint James Islanders are hoping they prove him right; others are certain they will.

the twenty-five to make us proud
Goalkeepers
№ 1. Gulyèlmo Dessantos – Age 29, Royal Martecabras
The “Goalkeeper from Hell”, as rivals are apt to dub Gulyèlmo Dessantos, shot Royal Martecabras to the top of the tables on goal difference in 2014 with a nearly innate ability to sense the ball coming. Boisterous on and off the field, Dessantos isn't afraid to make a bold move, even if it might backfire. Dessantos is sure to provide supporters, Les Oiseaux or not, with some great fun at the Baptism.

№ 13. Marcos Llosa – Age 31, Los Pescadores
Though the team might have disappointed, Los Pescadores had a bright spot with Marcos Llosa. Seen as the foil to Dessantos, Llosa is more dour, focused and serious. But in the same vein, Llosa is seen as incredibly risk-averse, leading to some otherwise easily saved goals going through the net.

№ 25. Intan Petera – Age 21, Ticomaça Nacional
The black horse of Les Oiseaux, young Intan Petera proved a pivotal asset for the capital’s club after a trick knee took Javier Martin out of commission. The enthusiastic Intan proved himself to be quite capable, if not a tad rough around the edges. While Intan might not see nearly as much action as Dessantos or Llosa, he will be a force at the net.

Image
The starting eleven for the opening match
Defenders
№ 6. Thomas Castille – Age 26, United Philibiscostal
Thomas Castille finds himself right at home on the squad, sitting on the left wing of Les Oiseaux. A surprise asset for the club of the City of Queens, the Saint-du-Sables native has a knack for man-marking and a spectacular talent for defence. While offensive play will be a struggle for Castille, his bulk and tenacity will intimidate whoever is unfortunate enough to be at his side.

№ 10. Juan Carlos García – Age 27, Rio San Ignacio
Rio San Ignacio proclaimed Juan Carlos García their Rey after a great defensive show for the Macaña club. The centre defender has some fancy footwork for a man in the back, with an uncanny ability to barricade the goal against rival attacks. However, García might find his hot temper to be a disadvantage in the Baptism.

№ 11. Petera Huhiro – Age 25, Roial Peimau
Petera Huhiro didn't see much action in Lega Prèmiere until he transferred to Roial Peimau, where he broke out as a defensive prodigy. Shutting down attacks from the right was Huhiro's speciality, though his tendency to leave his station open tends to give opposition a chance to score while provide little for the team. If Huhiro can sort out the problem, he's sure to see great accolades in competition.

№ 14. Jimmy Kendal – Age 30, United Philibiscostal
Standing in the shadows of Sessions is the ageing Jimmy Kendal. Though his season at United Philibiscostal was promising enough to earn him a place on Les Oiseaux, his performance since has left a lot to be desired. His level head and capabilities on the end of the field will still serve him well as he adjusts to his role as back up for the squad.

№ 17. Victor Mason – Age 23, Westminster City
Young Victor Mason was never given much of a shot at Ticomaça Nacional, leaving everyone stunned when cross-border rivals Westminster City chose him to to start on defence. Mason has developed a knack for the role, though teamwork is still something for the 23-year-old to sort out. Nevertheless, as a replacement in a pinch, Mason should find a nice niche in the Les Oiseaux squad.

№ 22. Marvin Sessions – Age 24, FC Kingsmouth
Rounding out the starting defence is boisterous FC Kingsmouth star Marvin Sessions. A fan of controversy, Sessions's place on the national squad was a piece of it in and of itself. Yet Sessions brings a capable partnership with his teammates, Castille in particular, to the table. Yet he'll have to work out his temper if he wants to avoid embarrassment on the global stage.

№ 23. Mikara Uira – Age 30, Royal Martecabras
For the longest time, Mikara Uira was seen as a middling player who was nothing but baggage to Royal Martecabras. But the 2013-14 season was where Uira shined, with the Salugu-born defender marking his territory as one of the most capable defenders on the offensive end. Yet Uira will prove to be the weak link if de Rosas attempts to start him, so cross your fingers he won't.

№ 24. Tobias Wilmer – Age 22, Royal Martecabras
Tobias Wilmer proved a good all-around for Royal Martecabras's fifteenth title season, providing some promising young spice for the club. Yet just as Wilmer has little in the department of weakness, he doesn't have much in the way of strengths either, leaving Wilmer a square peg for a round hole, so to speak. Count yourself lucky if you seen much of him in the games.

Midfielders
№ 3. Karl Anglesey – Age 24, Westminster City
The midfielder least likely to see service in the Baptism, Karl Anglesey is just kind of happy to be on the squad. While not much special, Anglesey is one who can hold down the fort without blowing the lead, making him an understandable, though surprising, choice for the national team.

№ 4. Thom Barnett – Age 25, Tyrone Athletic
Thom Barnett won’t see a lot of action in the Baptism, but the defensive midfielder will certainly be a rallier for Les Oiseaux fans in the crowds. A “Bercée-lite” as detractors are keen mock him, though his prowess and ability to stop counterattacks cold have given his time new life as they prepare for their first season in Lega Prèmiere, not to mention giving Barnett a few fans of his own.

№ 5. Yves Bercée – Age 29, United Philibiscostal
He might be the oldest defender on the squad, but underestimating Yves Bercée, deputy captain of the Saint Jamesian side, has cost many a team a chance at victory in Royal Victoria Stadium. While the Philibiscostal native might be a bit of a hot head and not much on offensive action, Bercée is a force to be reckoned with on the defensive side.

№ 9. Kai Eko – Age 21, Uniti Takatori
The youngest member of the squad, Kai Eko will surprise many on the field. Few would have expected that the Uniti Takatori midfielder would start on the national squad, given Kai’s tendency to be a tad rougher than some. Yet a natural instinct for the midfield and a sense of pride and duty will carry the young Takiari man a long way in the Baptism.

№ 16. Louis-Pierre Matignon – Age 28, FC Peterborough
Peterborough native Louis-Pierre Matignon would’ve just been happy playing for his home club, but Les Oiseaux is a honour for the centre-midfielder. Seen as an older and wiser counterpart for Kai Eko, Matignon feels right at home on the midfield and will thoroughly show it to all those who might doubt him at the Baptism.

№ 18. Miguel Núñez – Age 24, FC Kingsmouth
Kingsmouth couldn’t have been luckier than to have Miguel Núñez on the squad. Philibiscostan by birth, Núñez has developed a fast flight from the hustle and bustle of the City of Queens. Though he will mainly show up as a substitute, Núñez will make his presence on the pitch known with star snatches and a tendency to be rash.

№ 19. William Parnell – Age 23, FC Lamalas
William Parnell was a last minute call up for the squad, yet the proud Coleraine native is just happy to be on Les Oiseaux in the first place. Good with the noggin, long kicks don’t stand a chance against Parnell’s head, guiding the ball to his target like a missile. While not expected to collect many caps, the Speedy Parnell might surprise a person or two on the midfield.

№ 2. Angelo Zapatero – Age 28, Roial Peimau
Captain for Roial Peimau and Les Oiseaux, Angelo Zapatero is not a dominating force in the midfield. A true-to-the-line midfielder, Zapatero can play comfortably with the defence or offence and often liaises between players to keep the squad running smoothly. Though not the hot player of the squad, Zapatero’s levelheadedness and rallying talents give him a coveted spot on the starting line up.

Forwards
№ 7. Mani de la Cruz – Age 26, Royal Martecabras
“Silent but deadly” could not possibly be a more apt description for Mani de la Cruz, the man living a childhood dream to play in Lega Prèmiere and for Les Oiseaux. A striker of speed and stealth, few can see De la Cruz coming before he scores the goal that shuts them out. However, what Mani possesses in velocity, he lacks in passing, often conceding balls others might have received.

№ 8. Stéphane Delacroix – Age 30, United Philibiscostal
Stéphane Delacroix might not see much action in the Baptism, but he isn’t one to let rivals push him over. A fierce striker for United Philibiscostal, Delacroix is known for a fast flight matched by few in Lega Prèmiere, which helped propelled UP to fourth place. Though he hasn’t quite matched his performance at Royal Victoria for Les Oiseaux, Delacroix will still be one to look out for.

№ 12. Neama Iokua – Age 23, FC Kingsmouth
A offensive striker by trade, Nama Iokua will be an asset for an offensive Les Oiseaux. His ability to hold the line make Neama a key substitute for a under-performing players in the back half, allowing the Islanders to steal a victory from behind with a fast foot and a strong passing ability, all while keeping sharp with some immense physical prowess.

№ 15. George Kostas – Age 24, Inter Bayoneta
When asked the striker he feared the most, Mani had just two words: “George Kostas”. While his Inter Bayoneta may have had a middling season in 2014, George Kostas’s passion gave Bayoneta fans much to be proud of. The bright-eyed guy is one of the best passers on the squad and finds natural talent in the corner and penalty kick departments, giving him a keystone place in the Les Oiseaux line up.

№ 20. Mikaere Raia – Age 26, Uniti Takatori
No one would have expected Mikaere Raia to lead Uniti Takatori to third in Lega Prèmiere, let alone make the squad of Les Oiseaux. Yet Raia’s dribbling and ball control take the Jaliscano a long way on the pitch, snagging an assist or two along the way. Though not the star of the action, Raia is a solid supporter underestimated at one’s own risk.

№ 21. Jonathan Sampson – Age 22, La Corona
The definition of a mistake would have to include Los Pescadores giving up Jonathan Sampson to Corona Christiana. The 22-year-old shows no weakness in his skills, but conversely shows no real strengths either. But what Sampson lacks in technical skill, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm and a love and passion for Les Oiseaux.

and don't forget the staff
Coach: Juan Manuel de Rosas – Age 47, Royal Martecabras
The man who lead the most successful club in Lega Prèmiere to a historic fifteenth victory is triumphantly leading the squad into competition. De Rosas is famous for his demanding nature and his bipolar attitude, friendly one minute and furious the next. However, De Rosas has a proven track record and a reputation for accepting only the best. If that attitude can set the Baptism ablaze, he'll be celebrated in the Islands just as he is in Martecabras.

Assistant Manager: Jean-Baptiste Archambault – Age 51, United Philibiscostal
Rival and friend to De Rosas, Jean-Baptiste Archambault is the level-headed man to get the point across to the squad. The brains behind the Les Oiseaux operation, Archambault is the man whose head should be spiked if the Islanders go out early. Yet the records of 10-time Lega winners United Philibiscostal reflect well on Archambault, giving him an air of authority around the base camp and a respect from even those of rival squads.

Strength and Fitness Coach: Lorne Abbott – Age 38, Ticomaça Nacional
Equipment Manager: Sean O'Connor – Age 33, Ticomaça Nacional
Medical Lead: Angèlino d'Inaci – Age 42
Physical Trainer: Jorge Danielo – Age 35
Physical Therapist: Karani Anakoni – Age 37

The Blackfish Insider
No Frills. Just Blackfish News

The announcement of the formation of the new national side to compete for O.R.C.A. Bay was announced today instantly drawing a flurry of media reports depicting just how great the squad was going to be and how quickly they would rise to challenge the world’s elite. We want to tell you now that all the hype surrounding the squad here at home is simply a bunch of hogwash. Fifty-five other nations are sending their squads to compete for the first time in a major international event as well and we would do well to curb our enthusiasm at least to the general vicinity of what is possible.

And just what is possible for this young and enthusiastic group newly handed the Blackfish moniker? A solid showing in their debut at the Baptism of Fire, Just what a solid showing will mean will be determined by the ability level of their opponents and a bit of luck. Perhaps most important of all will be the Group Draw which will determine who the Blackfish shall take the pitch against during the all-important group stage. Unfortunately the draw information has not been released to the public at the time of this writing. So rather than any group preview at this point we will flesh out just what the Blackfish bring to the international stage.

Youth. That one word sums up our national side. At twenty-seven years of age, Molar Amerex is the old man of the group. But what they lack in experience the Blackfish more than make up for in exuberance and enthusiasm. Right Back Ijendu Chizuoke and Left Forward Aneesa Amineh are both cat-quick and should be a tough matchup as the quite nearly fly all over the pitch. By comparison Richard Norman is a brute of a player who prefers a more physical approach and with the consistent play in the center of the defense he should be able to flex his muscles a bit. Midfield is not the Blackfish strong suit but Napolitani is very talented and should perform well if he can keep his head in the game, which is never a given.

Up front should be the strongest area of the squad as Captain Patrick Reins and Paulo Silva-Ferreira join Amineh in what can be a lethal one-two-three punch. Amineh has the speed and quickness while Silva-Ferreira always seems to find himself in the right position at the right time. Reigns has the x-factor in his cannon-like shots from either foot. He once scored by blasting the keeper, who initially made the save, into the back of the net. Even starting keeper Kang Hin Hsü has made it known just how much he hates to be in the direct path of one of those bone-crushing shots.

Perhaps we shall find out who we will be playing and where soon enough. Until then have wonderful day here under the depths of the sea.

Playing Style

Image

The New Saints will be playing with the most popular Jasminian football style, 'the Bāgh' or 'Tiger' (style modifier +3.75). It is a quick paced style of play which consists of the wingers taking the ball down the sides lightning fast and crossing to a striker or midfield (who preferably has popped out of nowhere) who can then easily put the ball into back of the net.

National Anthem and Other Things

The national anthem can be found here. It's fine to call the Jasminia Islands just Jasminia. The 'T' in 'The' doesn't need to be a capital. The demonym is Jasminian. Jasminia in the native language is Chāmeliya.

Sedlak Fudbal Blog

Hello, I am Valent Sedlak and this is my Fudbal Blog.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a "Fanatik", a member of the Novach national team supporter's club. This month, I will be traveling to the 56th "Vatrena Krstenje", as it is known in my dialect, Novatol. The Baptism of Fire, as it is known elsewhere, provides an opportunity for nations new to the Fudbalpriza to show off their players, their talents, and to gain international experience before the upcoming qualifiers for the Svetskup. From the tournament, I will be writing about happenings in the NFA, the N-League, the national team, and football in general. I am very knowledgeable about fudbal and I hope my opinions can prove enlightening to some fanatikin.

For any fanatemni, I will also provide a glossary for any novateci that I use in my blog. I leave for the tournament tomorrow, and I will try to write my first Fudbal Blog tomorrow before the plane flight. There are already many interesting topics for me to discuss: the furor over the roster selections, transfer rumors, and the creation of "Sportakademi."

Have a good day,

Valent Sedlak

Association Football has always been popular in the land that is now Laiyenda. Brought over by the refugees from Terrair, Football has captured the hearts and minds of the nation since before the nation was born. At points in history, Football stopped wars. At points in history, Football started them.
By the 1870s, with the formation of the United Cities, the first official national league was created. It was known as the UCFL, the United Cities Football League. When the United Cities collapsed the power of the game of football kept the league together, and united divided citizens across the land.
In the early 1900s, as Laiyenda was being established, Gridiron Football began to take its hold on the land. The first major gridiron league popped up in the 1920s and almost led the Alpha League (what the UCFL had renamed itself after the U.C. Collapse) into complete collapse. But, alas, the government stepped in and began providing funds to save the country's time honored national past-time. The AL officially rebranded itself, and the game of football, when it renamed itself the SLL, or Soccer League of Laiyenda.
During the economic recession of the 1940s, the nation's leading gridiron football league fell into bankruptcy while the SLL stayed afloat thanks to government support. This brought about the resurgence of soccer throughout all of Laiyenda. Soccer is still the most popular sport in Laiyenda to this day.
This is where the international team comes in. Throughout history, Laiyenda has been known to keep to itself, be it in wars or sports. Recently, as Laiyenda has become bigger the fans of the SLL have been calling for an international team to be assembled to send to the World Cup. Then, in 2012, President Dwight Snow helped pass a budget plan that allocated millions of Laiyens to the formation of an international soccer team, a training facility, and anything else the team would need to get to the World Cup.
And now...ready or not...here we are.

Coach
1. Ronnie O'Daire - Douglas Port FC - Coach of the best football club in the SLL, Douglas Port FC. He prefers to play a defensive game. Outside of the game he promotes team unity by holding team only meetings behind closed doors that sometimes the team will be seen leaving with tears on their faces.

Goalies
1. Darius Barnes - Douglas Port FC - The oldest player in the SLL, he has over 15 years of experience at the goalie position. Despite his age, he is still the league's leading goaltender.
2. Chase Bone - Maide FC - Despite being in the SLL only 2 years, he has helped leade Maide FC to the cup game twice, winning it once. He is known as the young, cocky goaltender who will gladly wave a finger at you if he stops your goal attempt.

Forwards
1. Dante "D Squared" Durant - Douglas Port FC - Durant is the top goal scorer in the SLL and has been ever year of his career except his rookie year. From an abusive home, he struggled through life to make it to where he is today, and he willingly gives all praise to his mother and to God.
2. Nick Wallace - Valley - Wallace almost did not make the international team because of his attitude. He has a tendency to hog the ball, especially near the end of the game. Nick is also a bit of a hot head, one time he even started a fight with his own team mates on the field.
3. Quantavius Watts - Maide FC - The son of a billionaire business man in Douglas Port, Watts had his choice of colleges, but went to none. After graduating high school at the top of his class, he dedicated his life to football. He soon was given a chance in the SLL and scored a goal right off the bench.
4. Eliot Thorpe - Sporting CC (Chess City)
5. Jackson Bell - Maide FC

Mid-Fielders
1. Mark Walker - Maide FC
2. Nathan Mills - Mayren FC
3. Scott Williams - Maide FC
4. Ramon Regal - Sporting CC
5. Davin Wilkes - Douglas Port FC

Defenders
1. Tyler Evens - Easton FC - Evens is one of the highest paid players in the SLL, simply because he is all Easton has. Without Evens, Easton FC would have lost all of their games in the past 2 seasons instead of just 2. He does happen to be the best defender in the SLL, and his ego reflects it.
2. Peter Grant - Douglas Port FC
3. Robert Hale - Mayren FC
4. Zachary Teal - Douglas Port FC
5. Tyrone Barnes - Valley - The brother of Darius Barnes. In a game between Valley and Douglas Port FC, he threw water in his coach's face as he insulted his brother during a pep talk. They are...very close
