Greetings!
After another and successful Kronum World Cup II held in Mousebane Islet, it's the time for the Kronum World Cup III. My offer is to begin the tournament starting the group stage on the 10th of March. Signups are open until 5th March and host bids are open until 1st March (voted until 5th March). Every nation which has ever signed to Kronum WC (I, II and III) will have the vote. If there aren't any host bids, Nova Pruthenia will organise the tournament for the second time.

I. What is Kronum?
Kronum is a quite new sport invented in 2008 in USA and basically it's a mixture of soccer, handball, basketball and american football. Certainly I could write about it for a long time, but I suppose this presentation gives a basic explanation:

II. How it will be scorinated?
My own scorination system having made observations and statistics in RL. The system looks like this:

I've made an xKoranate Kronum file - it looks like this:

RP bonuses: 15, 10 or 5% bonus in xKoranate (depends on the way the nation will be RPed)

III. Signups deadline
Until 5th March 23:59 GMT or until we have at least 6 teams.

IV. Roster/RP/Results thread
9th October there will be new thread opened to do all such things.

V. The model of this cup - it depends on the amount of the entries. If more than 7 - there will be 2 groups (round robin), semifinals and finals
If between 6-7 there will be one group with round-robin, semis and finals
If at least 12 there will be quarterfinals added

VI. Order in groups:
1. wins
2. head-to-head wins
3. head-to-head goal difference
4. goals difference

VII. Ranking after the cup:
There's my idea, based on KBP ranking system:
win - 3 pts
win after shootout - 2 pts
lost after shootout - 1 pt
lost - 0 pt

These points are divided by the number of all possible matches and multiplied by:
8 - for the most recent cup
4 - for the previous cup
2 - for the cup before that
1 - as follows

If there will be any other Kronum international cups than the World Cup, there would be f.ex. multiplicator of 2 or 1 for them, depending on their popularity etc.

How to translate the ranking? I offer to use it in xKoranate this way:
Each team has points between 0 and 40.
Each team having a debut would have 0 skill points, the teams ranked have amount of points in ranking with additional 1 point (I mean f.ex. Zackalantis in theory is a little bit more experienced than a brand new team, it would be unjust to make them 0 skillpoints)

Catholican Catholica's Host Bid for the KWC III

About Catholican Catholica

Catholican Catholica is a very peaceful nation, hence the words "The Neutral Republic" in its title. The nation is famed for its strong sporting culture and traditions, especially with the sport of Kronum. Having had won the last two Kronum World Cups, the nation is proud of their national Kronum team and are especially enthusiastic of the next Kronum World Cup. It would be a great honor for our nation to have the right to host the Kronum World Cup, as it would take the country by storm, and the country would feel a sense of national identity, something it hasn't felt in many years, especially since the Freetown Riots that took place last year. These riots tore the country apart, and the only thing that cheers them up is the power in sport. An opportunity like this would bring happiness and joy to all Catholicans.

Tournament Format

If the nation of Catholican Catholica wins the rights to host this tournament, the tournament will consist of a round robin group stage. If less than eight teams compete in the tournament, (which I think is highly unlikely,) the first stage of the tournament will consist of one group with all teams placed in it. The top four teams will advance from that group into the knockout stages, which will consist of the semifinals, then a third place match, and finally, the final. If eight or more teams compete in the tournament, (which I think is more likely than the previous option,) the first stage of the tournament will consist of a group stage with four or five teams in three or four groups, (for a world cup with 12-16 teams,) the top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stages. The knockout stages will consist of a quarterfinals, a semifinals, a third place match, and a final. All results will be scorinated using the latest version of xKoranate.

RP bonuses will be cumulative. All posts before the next matchday will be considered one RP. All RPs will be rated on a scaled from 0-2. 0 being nothing or one or two lines and 2 being a very well-written RP. REMEMBER: QUALITY OVER QUANTITY! If you write a very long RP that basically has nothing to do with the KWC, but there is another RP that is 1-2 paragraphs that is well-written and has something to do with the KWC, the second option would be the better RP, since the quality of it dominates the other's quantity. I also expect that people participating in the tournament don't write at least two or three lines of RP because if you're going to write an RP that is very short, you shouldn't even bother to RP at all. Also remember that the RP bonuses you get will be added up throughout the tournament, so if you want to succeed in this tournament, the RPs and their quality will really count towards your performance in this tournament.

A nation called Llama on NS Sports? Who are you?

The Super-Llamaland (often called "Llamaland" or "Llama") was the co-host of International Baseball Slam I and III and a dedicated NS Sports RP-er. So far, our greatest claim to fame is defeating The Royal Barangay to win the twenty-eighth World Baseball Classic, but we've accumulated a slew of high finishes at larger tournaments, like the Cup of Harmony (quarterfinals), International Basketball Championship (Ro16 as an unranked), and a few minor championships like the International Wolfball Championships and the Watterson Bowl.

Who are you IC-ly?

The Republic of Super-Llamaland is a perfectly safe, slightly socialist, patriotic nation. We have plenty of high-class attractions and hotels and your kronum team should be perfectly safe here.

How about Group Stage Format?

We count eleven nations right now and fifteen participants in the previous edition. Therefore, we have no plans to schedule for a format with less than fourteen teams. Everything is double round robin unless mentioned otherwise.

14 teams: 2 groups of 7, single round robin, top 4 per group advance
15 teams: 3 groups of 5, winners plus top 3 second-place advance
16 teams: 4 groups of 4, top 2 per group advance
18 teams: 3 groups of 6, group winners advance, top 4 second-place finishers play playoff to get in
20 teams: 4 groups of 5, top 2 per group advance

I do not anticipate more than twenty participants, but if more than twenty come, I'll edit the host bid to reflect that.

Tiebreakers

In the event of a tie, the following tiebreaks will be used.

1. H2H Record
2. Point Differential
3. H2H PD
4. RP Bonus

Playoffs?

Nations will be seeded by a combined formula that equally weights rank, RP bonus, and winning percentage. Semifinals and third-place matches will be best 2-out-of-3, while the finals will be 3-out-of-5. All other playoff games will be single elimination, single game. This tournament shouldn't take much more than two weeks to finish.

Scorinator?

The best-case scenario is obviously kronum. If kronum doesn't work, I can use a modified version of the basketball scorinator on xkorante. The max bonus will be 28.571 (top rank) plus the max RP bonus.

RP Grading?

Looking at the high ranks, I've changed my host bid. The RP bonus will be 0-4 each day based on quantity and quality, with quality is preferred. Write about anything you want, though; unlike Catholican Catholica, I will not take off points for writing about something non-Kronum related. Non-sport Rps are standard on the forums, and I will not change that.

Rosters will be graded out of eight to emphasize their importance.

I will also offer RP challenges on any rest days and whenever I feel like it. There will be up to four RP challenges with things like "write a haiku on so-and-so" or "don't use such-and-such letter". Each challenge will be worth up to two points.

If you post multiple RPs in one cutoff, they will be averaged out to prevent a nation from spamming the thread with trash. However, I will make an exception for the pre-MD1. If you post multiple RPs, they will still be averaged, but the final grade will be out of 6 instead of 4.

For example, if New Wolfopolis puts up a 4/6 and a 2/6 before MD1, he will get 3 RP bonus. But if San Jose Guayabal only writes one RP and gets 4/4, he will get 4 RP bonus. This only applies to before MD1 due to the longer waiting times that can result from waiting for rosters.

Past Experience
New Wolfopolis has participated in the last two Kronum World Cups and is currently the fourth-ranked nation in the world. As for hosting experience, New Wolfopolis has hosted the International Wolfball Championships and Maple Leaf Bowl II, and has co-hosted the third and fourth editions of the International Baseball Slam.

Format
Precedent for signups is between 12 and 20, and, so I'll cut or add puppets to get multiples of four and these numbers:
12 teams: three groups of four, double round-robin group stage, first, second, and top two third place teams advance to quarterfinals
16 teams: four groups of four, double round-robin group stage, first and second place teams advance to quarterfinals
20 teams: four groups of five, double round-robin group stage, first and second place teams advance to quarterfinals
If there are more than 20 signups, I'll edit my numbers accordingly. Playoffs will be a single game, single elimination tournament, except for the final, which will be two out of three. There will be a third place playoff as well.

Tiebreakers
Tiebreakers will be as follows, which will also be in effect for playoff seeding order:
1. H2H Record
2. H2H Point Differential
3. Point Differential
4. Coin flip

Scorination
I will be using the latest version of xkoranate (0.3.3), using the kronum formula.

Rank/RP Bonus
Because of how unbalanced the ranks are (distance between 1 and 4 is larger than distance between 4 and unranked), I want rank to be easily overcome by RP. So, I'll be multiplying each rank by two and then dividing it by ten. For example, Catholican Catholica's rank will be 5.714, and that plus max RP bonus to date will be max rank total. RPs will be graded on a fluid scale from 0 to 2, with rosters graded from 0 to 4. Therefore, logically, a rank deficit will could be overcome before the first matchday.
