The Democratic Republic of Bulgar Rouge is proudly hosting the First Spartakiad of Socialist and Communist States. During these games, representatives of people's democratic states from across the globe will compete in the best traditions of Socialist brotherhood, solidarity and sportsmanship. Events in the Spartakiad symbolise the five pillars of the Socialist system - speed, flexibility, precision, strength and teamwork. The Bulgarian Olympic Committee wishes success, determination and victory to all those who will participate !
The Bulgarian Olympic Committee
1) Time frame
The Spartakiad will be launched on 19:00 GMT on 18 February 2014 and will close on 19:00 GMT on 1 March 2014. Scorination will use Xkoranate and will take place once a day. Results will be posted here between 19:00 and 21:00 GMT.
2) Venues
Events will take place at the "Red Banner" Sports Complex in central Bulgaria. The complex was designed and built by the First Economic Committee Department of Public Architecture specifically to host Spartakiad and Olympic events. It is located several kilometres east of Karanovo, south central Bulgaria, in a pristine and untainted area at the foot of the Stara Planina mountain chain. The complex has five venues: "August Victory" Indoor Arena for team events such as volleyball, basketball and futsal; "35th Brigade" Range for shooting and archery; "Bulgaria" Stadium where athletic, association football and ceremonial events are held; "Long March" Arena which is dedicated to martial arts, boxing, weightlifting, wrestling and other heavyweight sports; and the multipurpose "Pioner" Base for water sports and tennis.

"Bulgaria" Stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as most athletic events. It has a capacity of 76,000.
