With only 3 votes collected so far, the deadline for vote collection is confirmed to be midnight UTC on Monday, December 26 (yes, that's evening Christmas day for most Americans).

So, I believe some are aware of the International Premier Tennis League and whatnot.

And of course, there's also the tradition that the Sunrisians have more domestic leagues than they should, which of course, includes a domestic tennis tournament. Thing is, the Sunrisian tennis players are laughable and there really isn't any interest on actively developing home talent in any form, yet there are many tennis players out there that haven't quite cracked into the top.

The way I see it, the Sunrisian Tennis Championship could either cope with the current situation or use signing up talent that aren't doing anything of note or playing at all. And well, I figured the second one would be more fun. Now, of course this doesn't grant points to any rankings ever, but hey, if they're not doing anything relevant, why not? I'm not quite sure on the numbers of teams, though I'm certain I'm contracting the league to 12 sides (out with West Mardi and Marendi, at least) though I'm all for suggestions on how the tournament should work and whatnot. Contracts would last for only one season and I'd wish people would notify me if there's any interest from any of their players.
Tails... Watch out, you're gonna crash, aaaaah!

On that note, the IC thread will be up tomorrow. Competition will start on the 28th.

Of course, the schedule in my bid is entirely void now since it proposed a December 21st start date. Competition will be from Dec. 28 - Jan. 6. There was originally a break day of no competition planned for December 25th but since this date has already passed, there will be no break days.

The competition will be the same as planned, one round of singles and doubles each day - round robin - lasting eight days. Semifinals and finals will be days nine and ten.

Can't we just have a one week break, at least, where there is no sign ups or no competition? Even if its planned during 2017...

Impossible. The Merseyshore Masters finish tomorrow, and you need the ranks to be updated from that before you can begin your tournament. Therefore, it is impossible for your tournament to begin tomorrow.

I had been under the impression that the tournaments for the year were over besides this one, as was the case this time last year.

On the flip side, I considered all sides of the matter and had telegrammed Ceni when I posted the IC. I asked him if the rankings were up-to-date and correct. The plan was most absolutely to wait for him to respond to me before proceeding with scorination tomorrow.

Sorry yeah. Because the Symphonian Masters had to be run by me because Ceni was on holiday, they were a little delayed because I was ill and therefore not online when it would have started.

It's fine, scorination will begin once Ceni notifies me that the ranks are up-to-date after the Merseyshore Masters.

Hopefully scorination can either start Thursday or Friday - since Merseyshore ends tomorrow.

I wanna give my most sincere apologies to the last few hosts (Savalen, Ethane, Mercedini) for my apparent absence from rping in the tournaments. Guess I've been so stressed with school and i just eventually zoned out for awhile.

I wanna change that for next year, starting with the Astyrian Series. I'm even thinking of potentially hosting a tourney either in the mid-late summer or winter (need a good look at schedule first :3 )

Thank you, and good luck to those who made the finals in Kannap. Cheers!

So Ceni has notified me that the rankings are up-to-date, so scorination will begin tomorrow.

I probably should have asked you this earlier, I apologise. But why are you making everyone play everyone? Surely you should just split them up in to 1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6,8? This way in the Semi final they play someone new? And, it's quicker...

Sorry for the delay in scorination recently. I've been busy with unpacking my room yesterday and today.

The tournament will end tomorrow, like planned. Scorination of the seventh round will occur tonight and semi-finals and finals will be scorinated tomorrow.

Planning to get the IC thread for the Kannap March Invitational up within the next day or two - since it is scheduled to be from March 26 to April 1.

The plan is to have the top 48 singles athletes and top 32 doubles teams compete.

NSTT Rankings

I wanted to just let you all know that I am on a long, possibly permanent hiatus from NSTT. I talked to Ceni earlier about it. I've run dry on RP, plus with limited time, I had to prioritize other stuff, both RL and NS. If I do end up coming back, expect that at least half of my players will have retired, but we're talking a while down the road here if that happens. Thanks for the memories and good luck and fortune to you all.
TG me with questions if you got some, especially about GE&T or PMCs.

Alright - updated ranks from New Oxford have finally been published.

Obviously, we didn't get around to the Cityscapes Open or the AOpen, so we will proceed straight to the NSTT Finals. I've decided to award the rights to Mercedini this year, without a bidding process, so we can get them going before the year is over.

Speaking of next year, 2018, if you would like to host a tournament, please TG me. I'm not sure we'll have as busy a schedule as this year - or last year - (for one, I won't be hosting the Astyrian Series in 2018), but I would like to have a Tour, even if it is 6 tournaments.

Northwest kalactin wrote:Can everyone participate in the NSTT championship that has a rank

No, for a couple of reasons.

1) The NSTT is loosely based off Real Life tennis - and both Real Life tennis circuits only qualify the top 8 singles and doubles players for their tour-ending championships.
2) There are almost 300 people ranked in singles and 200 ranked doubles teams - organizing such an event would be a logistical nightmare
3) Most of the lower-ranked players either participated in one tournament and lost early on because they barely RPed - opening up the field for these people would signify that you don't have to RP to get anywhere in tennis
4) There are a whole lot of people who only won one match - in qualifying - and disappeared off the scene. Do these people really deserve to compete in the Championship, only to get crushed 6-0, 6-0?

In short - does Darian King, or Joran Vliegan deserve to make the ATP World Tour Finals at the end of the year?

(If you are scratching your head wondering who these people are, that's exactly my point.)

Cenian Open (Grand Slam) 1-8
<Schottia> I always think of Ceni as what it would be like if Long Island was its own nation, ran by Bernie Sanders lol.

Hm, okay. Well, the Britons are coming back! So happy to have gotten a player in the top 10 in the singles, and two more players within the top 60 - I am looking forward to RPing more and seeing them conquer the NSTT! become real heavyweights. At least I have the a pair in the doubles, aye?

Well done to all the hosts this year, and good luck to Mercedini hosting the NSTT Finals.

The Mercedinian Tennis Association is proud to host the NSTT World Tour Finals, following an unsuccessful bid last year. The competition will be hosted in the northern city of Shebchetsik thanks in part to the MRC.CUBE currently hosting another competition, and will be unavailable to host the tour finals like it would have last year. Instead, the Shebnatsiya Ice Palace will play host to the 2017 NSTT Tour Finals following a successful bid from a number of venues across the country. The Ice Palace always hosts hockey as it is the home venue of HK Dynamo Shebchetsik, hoever the venue has been modified to include a tennis court, the one and only which will be used throughout the tournament. The top eight singles players and the top eight doubles pairings have all been invited to Mercedini for the tournament, with the winner bagging some serious ranking points to take them into the new year.

Congratulations to every player who qualified for the NSTT Tour Finals and best of luck for the tournament. We hope you enjoy your time in Mercedini and wish you the best over the festive period.

OOC: The IC thread should be up soon-ish, with the schedule set to be around the festive period with an extended break around Christmas. With a maximum of four nation competing in the tournament, RPs may be thin on the ground especially with other tournaments such as the World Cup already on, but try your best as only good can come from it. I'll aim to send out a TG to all competing nations once the IC thread is up, so keep an eye on your inbox to stay up to date with all the developments.
