Stadium
The Anditon Wolves call Crichma Communications Palace (CCP) their home stadium. Located in Orodun and normally home to the AMFL's Protanic Wolverines, CCP features a unique three tiered design and a closable roof for cold weather - though it is often that the home team will play with the roof open when hosting warm weather foes. The CCP has a seating capacity of 65,439 with expandable seating to house nearly 69,000 with standing room only seats. Generally during championship runs and other important games (especially while facing hated rivals the Northern Yeti) it is not uncommon to see the stadium filled beyond legal capacity.

Ever since taking the nation over in a peaceful coup, Premier Louis De'Cader has since become what many say is that of a benevolent dictator, garbing power up anyway he can and centralizing it to fit his needs, but at the same time giving the people of West Guiana who are known to be very pessimistic of their daily lives something to be positive about. That positive outlook can vanish in a matter of minutes if any bad news of the nations come out from afar, especially when it hurts the nations credibility in any way or fashion. Once again for the second time in twelve years the West Guiana Football Committee let the nation down and hurt it's credibility over their Baptism of Iron debacle, finding out that the referrers they hired had no idea what they were doing, and those who hired them were finding ways to distract the other members of the World Bowl Assembly any way they could to get out of taking responsibility.

The head of the WGFC, is Diane Lukerl a position she has held since the nations debut in World Bowl 16, even after the embarrassment of World Bowl 18, many wondered why she hadn't been fired or why the majority of the WGFC were still on and finding new ways to screw things up. Mrs. Lukerl, knows that this was her first shot at impressing the new leader of the country with her organizational skills and knowledge, but instead of praising her he has invited her to his office at the newly renovated Presidential Palace. Mrs. Lukerl walking through the brightly colored corridor with the granite tiles shining off of the lights above, she was told to bring her laptop and or any writing materials because she was to be ready to write anything down. As she walked upon the door to the Premiers office, she was checked over by the security staff posted outside his door, the third time she's been checked over, they nod to her she may enter. Before she opens the door one of the guards radios that the guest is entering.

Premier De'Cader slowly rocking back and forth in his leather office chair with gold patting for the arm rests, and with a simple gold plate at the back with his name on it. The room was bright, as the morning sun shone in the light bouncing off the wall which was colored a soft yellow, the guards had radioed that his guest had arrived and will be entering soon, sitting there with his hands on the desk twiddling with the thumbs, he was until the debacle a fan of Mrs. Lukerl, but now he had many serious doubts about her abilities and if she can handle stress. He knows he can handle stress, the pas year has been filled with it, his supporters storming the old Presidential Palace and overthrowing the old corrupt government, and having to centralize the power so that he held all. Not easy in anyway, while making many political enemies, nothing too stressful after everything he's gone through to get to this point. You see the Premier can't handle failure and doesn't do so very well, he can't shrug it off and move on, he must get down to the bare-bones and find where the weak link is, and now he knows where it is.

Diane Lukerl has just opened the door of the Premiers office and the mood of the room hits her like a brick wall, frustration, disappointment, and a ting of anger, she knows she's walking into the lions den and thinks she is prepared for a fight. "Good morning sir, i'm Diane Fukerl." She said has cheerful as she could, even though the room is brightly filled with the daytime rays of sun, it feels as if she's in a small dimly lite room.

De'Cader sits there for a moment, then simple says, "Take a seat Mrs. Fukerl, no need to stand." Before continuing he take out a small pile of papers, held together with a large paperclip, "Mrs. Fukerl you were in 1999 hired as the first and only director of the newly formed West Guiana Football Committee, the hiring of you was seen by many as the right step in the furthering of at the time the nations third largest sport. This was before World Bowl 16 the nations debut".

Diane, simply answers with a yes.

De'Cader not impressed with the answer, but continues, "In 2004 the WGFC won the right to host World Bowl 18, less than a week in the WGFC was accused of fraud, negligence and having absolutely no idea of what they were doing, is that right?"

"Well I wouldn't say that, the whole thing was a trap for us, you see other national football committees from other nations set us up to fail, bending anything small into something it wasn't."

"So what that situation was, was that the WGFC was set up to fail because of others twisting what they saw into something it wasn't? Mrs. Fukerl, your hosting of the 18th World Bowl was an outright failure, you had refs that had been paid off before the games had started. Two members of the committee were accused and found guilty of fraud and embezzlement, they stole over WG5 million from the WGFC and WBA coffers. The over all planning of the event was a disaster and even after 12 years you still lay zero blame on your self and the WGFC." Taking a sip of water from the glass of water on his desk before continuing, "Mrs. Fukerl, over the course of this World Bowl I am going to give you a list of words, to which you shall write an essay about football in this country and the overall World Bowl and about the events of that day."

Diane shocked and outraged over this, states strongly, Mr. Premier, I am a fifty-three year old woman, who has not wrote any easy of any sort since my college years, I am the head of a important task force to over see the dealing of this countries international football games. I find this idea of an essay extermly silly and un-needed."

De'Cader just sat their listening, then took out a dictionary flipping through the pages until he found what he was looking for, when he did he put the book down face down, "Mrs. Fukerl, can you tell me what the word profligate means, or the definition? No? Well it the definition is "Recklessly extravagant or wasteful in the use of resources." As far as many in this country would say the WGFC is profligate and since the WGFC is funded 70% by the government, I can with the swish of a pen deplete the committee of needed funds. Now you see what I have been able to conclude in such a short time is that you don't take much responsibility for anything, and your extensive knowledge of the current state of the committee is short sighted. I shall give you five words, each game day to describe the current state of the WGFC and the outcome of that days score and how you believe the committee can help the team."

Diane sat, and asked shyly, "If I don't?"

Smiling, De'Cader leans forward, "If you don't do this simple task, you shall be looking for a new job, and have a warrant for your arrest." Strongly, "Each essay will be minimum seven hundred words, and i'll ask you a few questions, afterwards." He hands her a list of five words that she must use for the first day with the definitions:

Audacious, Showing a willingness to take risks.
Obdurate, Stubbornly refusing to change one’s opinion or course of action.
Portent, A sign or warning that something significant is likely to happen.
Virulent, Extremely severe or harmful in its effects. Bitterly hostile or antagonistic; hateful. “Virulent criticism.”
Nescient, Lacking knowledge; ignorant.

Baptism Of Iron In Review
After what fans could only describe as an abrupt end to their Baptism, Nassau Hessen lost in a game where a scary blackout occurred soon after the explosion. It was a low scoring game 6-3 against a team they have beaten before 17-16, unfortunately, that is life.
After being paired into Group B and going 1-2 in their first few games (which gave them little hope at that instant) a reset in standings, instead of discouraging them, gave them a fresh start, in which they performed professionally and to their fullest extent. They showed dominance and were a force to be reckoned with, destroying the other teams that posed no threat. After the round was over, and their defensive prowess showed, they ended up in the second spot in their division, of which spot was enough to be satisfied (especially after coming on top of the three way tie by dominating the lesser teams).

The group stage gave them a ticket to Stade St. Criox, where they would rematch a team they barely skipped by in a 17-16 thriller. The game was surprisingly low scored, with both defenses being unbudging in letting points through and a disappointing final score. A minute after the final seconds an explosion ensued, followed by a temporary blackout, no fatalities yet, however there were various injuries, none of players or staff were injured.

Justin Boyd was a mean, pin-faced, little man. He stood 5'5" and his hair, formerly dirty blond, was fading to an ugly mashup of the blondish color and darkish gray. His sixty-three-year-old face was creased, wrinkled, and unevenly tanned thanks to a long, hard career catching pigskins while wearing helmets, causing interesting crisscross marks of dark brown on his face. But he was a successful coach for the Llamaland Smashers and a great advocate for the Short Gridiron Players of Llamaland (SGPL), an organization he co-founded in 1992.

Boyd, tired of being looked down upon by a group whose heights ranged from 5'11" to 6'7", had ordered a premium-quality leather stepstool from Beckett Furniture Inc. Shortly afterwards, Beckett Furniture's stock had dropped 42% in one month to just $2.39 a share, another company hit by the infamous "Boyd Curse".

Other companies included Pegasus Motors (high-flying hydrogen fuel cell car company that fell from a high of $57 to $29 after Boyd bought a fancy car there), Siberian Frost Co. (after McKenzie switched from Firefight's cigarette line to Siberian's line due to slightly lower excise taxes, Firefight rose 35% while Siberian crashed 62%), and Cornell Accessible Technologies (which Boyd bought a single brown mousepad from, causing the stock to go bust within the year).

"WE MAY BE A NEW TEAM IN THIS COMPETITION!" the slightly deaf and very stubborn Boyd yelled. "BUT WE CAN BEAT ANY TEAM HERE! EVEN THE HOSTS SAINTLAND! I'LL SCOFF UPON THEM ALL FROM MY THRONE WHEN WE'RE WORLD CHAMPIONS!"

The players murmured in agreement, but they were daunted at facing teams better than they were. Still, it was good practice not to argue with Boyd.

Lord Almighty Gregory rejects calls to boycott World Bowl

Many people have been calling for Gregoryisgodistan to boycott the upcoming World Bowl, to be held in Saintland and the Free Republics. Gregoryisgodistan has long had a political rivalry with Saintland and has threatened war numerous times, while Saintland has threatened Gregoryisgodistan as well. Today, Lord Almighty Gregory gave a speech to the people addressing and rejecting the calls. Here is a transcript.

"Good evening, ladies, gentlemen, and slaves. I come today to reject calls for a boycott of the upcoming World Bowl in Saintland and Free Republics. Although people from both countries have tried to assassinate me in the past, and although Saintland has threatened this glorious country numerous times, and although Saintland has the most despicable human rights violations of any country in the world, I must still reject these calls.

"A boycott will not hurt Saintland. Saintland hates us. They want us out of their country. The Sanctii would rather we didn't exist. By traveling to Saintland, we are exposing the still living Sanctii citizens to the truth about Gregoryisgodistan and all our glory. I am the Lord Your God, and I am the Lord Their God as well.

"If we do not go into Saintland, it is very likely the Sanctii will have significantly more success. Their offense may be one of the best in the world, but they have never gone against our brave and noble enemy crushers before. Our enemy crushers would destroy their offense. Our enemy crushers would easily handle the Sanctii offensive unit. We will crush that prince who does not even deserve a name, so I will not mention it. If we face Saintland, rest assured we will win.

"But that cannot happen unless we travel to the World Bowl. We must not boycott it. We must go into Saintland and Free Republics and show the world our might and glory. Maybe then they will accept me as their Lord and God. Our Grid Slaves shall win. Our Grid Slaves shall defeat all oppponents, even the Sanctii. Our Grid Slaves shall lift the World Bowl trophy. The Saintland propaganda machine won't be able to respond to that one. King Paulus - the new king Paulus since his brother the old King Paulus has been killed by our military - (OOC: propaganda, not true) shall be forced to accept the truth - that I, not this so called "Iesus" am the true Lord and true God. The Church of Gregoryisgodistan is the True Church, not the Church of Saintland.

"The people of Saintland have never seen a defensive unit nearly as strong as ours. When the media asks how we are so strong, the players will credit me, Lord Almighty Gregory, and thank me for bestowing their powers upon them. They will speak the truth, something Saintland should learn to do. I will, through my awesome godly powers, lead Gregoryisgodistan to victory in the World Bowl. We shall prevail.

"In short, boycotting the World Bowl does no good. Saintland boycotted the World Cup, and failed to qualify as a result. Furthermore, their archenemies, the brave and noble women of Feministvs Sanctvsterra, participated instead, spreading their message on a world stage. If instead, Saintland had sent their own team to World Cup qualifying, perhaps they would have successfully qualified and been able to spread their message in the Equestrian States and Cassadaigua. Of course, I am, as always, adamantly opposed to this message, but nonetheless they would have had an opportunity to spread it in the countries they described as "wicked."

"Now, we have the opportunity to spread our message in a truly wicked country, the Kingdom of Saintland. I encourage our Grid Slaves to show Saintland who the true God of the Multiverse is, that it is I, Lord Almighty Gregory. I also encourage our Grid Slaves to excel on the field, to show the Sanctii whose side God is really on. And if we ever face Saintland, kill that wicked prince. Enemy crushers, crush him. I will reward each of you with 100 billion greggygodbucks (OOC: only about 45,000 Universal Standard Dollars due to hyperinflation of the Gregoryisgodistani currency) if the Prince of Saintland is successfully crushed to death in a match during this World Bowl. He doesn't even deserve a name, as I already mentioned. So I won't name him, only tell you to crush him. Crush him to death.

"Finally, a word of warning to the Sanctii authorities. If you arrest the enemy crushers for crushing your prince or anyone else, we will invade and rescue them from your prison, killing everyone who tries to stop us. This applies to the authorities in the Free Republics as well. Do not arrest our enemy crushers or any other member of the team. There will be severe consequences if you do. We killed almost every single Sanctii citizen, and we will be happy to finish you off. (OOC: this is propaganda.) We also killed numerous Republican citizens and would be happy to kill more if we have to. Long live Gregoryisgodistan!"
Gregoryisgodistan, population 75,000,000. All citizens are required to worship Lord Almighty Gregory, our head of state, as a deity.

Defense Defense Defense
Jules VanMys -- ORODUN

The fixtures haven't been released as of yet for World Bowl XXII but we are essentially lacking much other sporting news to report on here in the Orodun News and Review. Since my editor would be quite unhappy with me submitting a blank article for the front of the Sporting Section, I've submitted this semi-analysis of the Anditon Wolves bid for the World Bowl XXII Championship - or at least a place past pool play that is. As many coaches have said in the past, "Defense wins championships, Offense puts butts in the seats." This is the mantra of current Wolves head coach Nestor Gregori of the Protanic Wolverines of the AMFL, granted Gregori tends to only focus upon the first part of the mantra. The defense minded coach has put together an impressive roster of defense all stars from the AMFL who, together, will try to lead the Wolves farther than they have ever been before in the World Bowl. Running a 3-4 based defense led by Defensive Coordinator (and Head Coach of the Northern Yeti) Myles Gallo, the Wolves will feature a strong linebacking core who is both strong and fleet of foot. These linebackers have a combination of power from ROLB #51 Eli Dahl and finesse from MLB #56 Johnny D'Urbo, both of whom have seen many years of work together as co-stars of the Northern Yeti. Cornerbacks Jude Pineda and Aaron Shambo should also provide back-end defensive help to remove the deep-threat. Shambo led the entire AMFL this last season with 9 interceptions, 3 of which were returned for touchdowns (also a league leading statistic). All together, Gregori has put together a very powerful defensive team.

That said, the offense of the Wolves is nothing to shake a stick at either. Led by Quarterback Darin Barnhardt and RB tandem of Jeremiah Werner and Liam Uberrara, the Wolves' offense focuses on a Run/Run/Play-Action type of plan. The two RBs have been shown to work decently well as a tandem, both in Pro-formations as well as single backs running behind blockers. The strong offensive line lends itself to run-blocking more than pass-blocking, but the brilliantly smart Barnhardt has shown promise with his ability to understand the majority of defenses. Using the run to set-up the pass is one of the attributes that offensive coordinator (and former AMFL star) Marc Fangol has focused on to this point, but nobody should be surprised if more passes make their way into the system as the relationship builds between Barnhardt and slot-reciever Sherwood Pai the speedy returnman and underneath threat from the Mys Tigers.

Overall, the Wolves should be able to compete decently well in the World Bowl - and I, for one am hopeful and excited. The prediction of this sports writer is that they will make it to the Round of 16 if not the Quarterfinals, but would be happy if they can make it farther.

Saintland doing us a favor?
By Rachel Sharper, Concord Heights Times

Only once has the World Bowl had an unusual format. Sure, we can look back at the playoff structure of the World Bowl hosted by Bluth Corporation as being a little nutty, but that was just the playoff round, and there’s nothing that out of whack with a double elimination round. Putting that aside, there is only one time before that a World Bowl simply did something very unusual in its qualifying structure. This happened such a long time ago that likely there are many nations playing now who wouldn’t even remember it.

Ahhhh, World Bowl 8. Sweet, sweet World Bowl 8. If it wasn’t for this great World Bowl, then Cassadaigua would still be looking for the gridiron jewel for its five-sport grand slam that it recently completed. Classification rounds were music to our ears, and the team found ways to win games when they needed it most. All the re-seeding and re-ranking, didn’t get in their way, and not even then top-ranked Dancougar (who at that time was as dominant in the World Bowl as Polar Islandstates is now in the World Cup) could derail the pink and black train. Dancougar beaten, then another nation who would later be one of the best for a little while, Delaclava, was put away. Sarzonia? You’ve heard of them right? They were gone in the semis, leaving only us and the Fujisawan Territories. It was there that the Dagans were victorious, and Cassadaigua had won the World Bowl, the only time it win such a tournament.

So, we’re doing this unusual format thing again. Bringing it to us is Saintland. Yes, Saintland. Surely when they drafted up their proposal of bringing the Casaran to the football field after the format was defeated for the World Cup, they didn’t think that would be music to our ears. After all, it’s not only that, it’s that Cassadagan football hasn’t looked this good in quite some time. The team returned to the football scene in World Bowl 20 to play extremely well in the group stage, only to be troubled by a tough format that saw them not make the playoffs, and they used that to their advantage in World Bowl 21, going all the way to the title game. Confidence has never been higher, and with many players returning from that runner-up finish, a championship was always going to be the goal, even if we were doing the normal format thing. We’re going back to a World Bowl 8-like system here? Cassadaigua couldn’t be happier.

Here we are, and soon we will be playing football and doing the Casaran thing. In the past, Cassadaigua has not done well in things hosted by Saintland, most recently World Baseball Classic 27, so there is some concern that could come into play. But I don’t think we have to worry, King Paulus after all has invited Queen Cassie to the country, and she has accepted, making it seem like there is an effort for the nations to come to an understanding of co-existence (let’s face it, we will never be allies). If there are any good intentions, you’d have to think that they’d all be erased if the players put forth an effort good enough to win the title, but yet saw themselves on the other end of controversial calls.

I’m excited, and so is the team. Let’s strap on those helmets and bring it on!
NS Sports’ only World Cup, World Bowl, World Cup of Hockey, World Baseball Classic and International Basketball Championships winner!

Offensive Base Formation: Pro set
Defensive Base Formation: 4-3

Note: All players on the roster have a central contract with the National Accardolan Football Team. Basically, they sign for a period of time and a wage, just like with any professional team. However, this central contract means they can't accept a contract with a NAFL team or play games for any other team. It's designed to keep the nation's best players fit and healthy to play on the biggest stage of them all, the World Bowl. Players will often be signed to a central contract straight out of college and it is very unlikely for players to be signed from playing in the NAFL later in their career - though it is not unheard of. If you want more information on this, telegram me and I'll try and do a role-play to explain it in-character.

Quarterback style: Colin Estrella is a real pocket passer, he's comfortable when he has a good line blocking in front of him and giving him time to throw. He doesn't like to venture outside the pocket and therefore, if a good blitz is called, he may well take the sack. He's a fairly accurate passer and will get the ball into his receivers' hands, but he isn't a strong-arm quarterback, he won't often go for the big throws and the playbook is designed around short-to-medium passes, the run game and then bringing in the play-action. He came out of South Dora, a university renowned for producing top passers and Estrella was one of the first to sign a central contract with the National Team (essentially meaning he is tied down to the national team for the duration of his contract, meaning he can't play in the NAFL and sustain injuries that way and his only game time will be on the national team).

Most likely to make a stupendous touchdown grab: Eric Ashcraft
Most likely to make a helmet splitting hit: Jim Rodriguez
Most likely to break a tackle: Jeff Bailey
Most likely to strip the ball: Daniel Peterson
Most likely to make an important block: Marc Elliot
Most likely to take a pick-six: Jamal Fletcher

Role-play permissions: Assume yes to all, but let's not have any killings eh? Accardola is vulnerable to inclement weather in some regions, with baking sun in others, if I role-play before the game and give information on the weather in that manner, then please follow my lead, if not, go wild. I like commas, five in that last sentence alone.

If you want any particular information on my team, please telegram me, but I plan to use this World Bowl to start developing this nation a little more. Hopefully I'll go on to finish the college football season I started a long while ago and maybe do the NAFL too, I'm hoping this World Bowl gives me the motivation to go on and do that and hopefully my american (Accardolan, damnit!) football puppet can get some success here once I get going.

Juan del Pastel, who is this mysterious man? A man who dares to challenge the defending champions of the World Bowl, that's who. But can one man beat a whole team by himself?

The short answer is: no. A longer more detailed answer would be: can an ant lift an elephant, of course not. Qazox opens defense of it's second World Bowl looking like the prohibitive team to beat. Allamunnic States has slipped a bit, but will likely be a contender again, as will German Zerabithia, Equestrian States, Darmen and many other top tier teams.

The equalizer will be the Casarian format, in which teams will not know their opponent until after each weekend of matches. We might see Qazox face off against 3 or 4 top teams, before they even reach the secondary group stage

Nation: Federal Republic of Allamunnic States
Official Nickname: The Regulars
Unofficial Nicknames: The Blue-and-Grey, Allamunnae

Head Coach: Ryan Smart (Age: 42)
Head coach Ryan Smart is arguably the most successful coach in World Bowl history to this point; in his ten (going on eleven) World Bowls (plus one invitational tournament), he has posted a 110-2-30 record and has won three World Bowl championships in four consecutive finals berths entering World Bowl XXII. Smart has once again taken a step back from running the offense directly, spending more time and energy working with both units while leaving greater overall control to their coordinators. Smart's leadership style is an energizing one, and he seems to have a knack for bringing out the best in the Regulars, and for making the right decisions when it matters most.

General Manager: Benjamin Jameson (Age: 60) – Jameson is a behind-the-scenes wizard who has managed to turn an underfunded and underperforming Allamunnic national side into a perennial championship contender, loading the team with talent, and retaining veterans and bringing in fresh blood in equal parts. Recent moves suggest that he may be going along with Allamunnic Sporting Commissioner Hadley Thornburger's request to shrink the team a little bit, by opting not to replace some departing players. Of course, as players have left the team, Jameson appears to have done an excellent job working with Coach Smart to replace them.

Special Teams Coordinator: Harvey O'Bannon (Age: 65) – Special teams have long been a weakness for this team, although O'Bannon has managed to make it less of a problem in recent years; the special teams lost the Regulars many a game in past years, but Harvey has managed to ensure that it at least isn't a damning problem for a championship-winning team.

Offensive Coaching Staff
Offensive Coordinator: Baeryk Vaalburger (Age: 47) – After the Allamunnic offense apparently lost its identity during World Bowl XXI, Coach Smart tasked Vaalburger with returning the unit to its old self, giving play-calling duties back to the offensive coordinator. Vaalburger's approach is a little more conservative (and certainly more run-heavy) than Smart's, but Smart and Vaalburger's off-season analysis concluded that the offense needed to commit more to the run game anyway, despite last year's struggles.

Quarterbacks Coach: John McClelland (Age: 55) – The fact that the Allamunnic national team's revolving door at quarterback seems to have ceased is at least partially due to McClelland's work teaching and developing Leif Erikson, who has all the tools necessary to be the team's "franchise quarterback" (as it were). The man is a very experienced coach who lasted a long time in a league that's not usually terribly kind to quarterbacks before playing a few years as a back-up for the national team, giving him a little taste of international gridiron prior to coaching.

Running Backs Coach: Willy Zimmermann (Age: 60) – Zimmermann has long presided over a deep and explosive running back corps. Zimmermann has seen several backs come and go, and unfortunately this is probably the thinnest backfield he's had to work with in a long time; apart from offensive fulcrum Danyl Wyndhorst, the Regulars have a 31-year-old power back, a broken-down old veteran, and a true fullback. That said, expect him to get plenty of mileage out of the running backs, helping them live up to their enormous potential.

Receivers Coach: Zack Quinn (Age: 64) – Quinn is an old receiver who played in a domestic league that wasn’t exactly receiver friendly, and managed to do well in spite of that and in spite of being of more or less average talent. Quinn has arguably the tallest order of his coaching career ahead of him, as he will have to take three receivers who have received anywhere from some to very little playing time over the last several years and turn them into a world-beating unit.

Offensive Line Coach: Baeryk Vaalburger (Age: 47) – Baeryk is the son of former national team coach Staevan Vaalburger, and, like his father, played offensive line in college and in the pros. Lacking some of the bulk necessary for a good lineman, Baeryk found himself out of the league within five years, but has since made a living as an excellent teaching coach, and he is taking over for Rodriksunn after his departure. Look for the line under Vaalburgur to remain as strong as always.

Defensive Coaching Staff:
Defensive Coordinator: Jethro Myers (Age: 47) - With Danny Rickenbacker leaving for a head coaching job with the Vienna Barons, the next-most-senior defensive coach on the Regulars was linebackers coach Jethro Myers, who was promoted to head up a traditionally-staunch defensive unit. In terms of the overall scheme, don't expect many changes to the Regulars' multifront defense. However, due to his greater familiarity with the personnel at linebacker positions, don't be surprised to see the Regulars making greater use of the 3-4 as a base front over the 4-3.

Defensive Line Coach: Theodur Laansur (Age: 39) - After retiring as a player from the Regulars, nosetackle Theo Laansur followed Elias Mourner's path by joining the Regulars' coaching staff, replacing the departed Danny Rickenbacker as the defensive line coach. A sixteen year career on the line means that the towering Laansur has learned a thing or two to pass on to a very young defensive line.

Linebackers Coach: Jethro Myers (Age: 47) – The general improvement in the linebacking corps is most-likely attributed to Myers' coaching; as a former Ironmongers linebacker, he knows his position as well as anyone, even if he wasn't the best at it, physically; if anything, that ensured that he learned the position all the better to compensate for a lack of innate talent.

Secondary Coach: Elias Mourner (Age: 42) – After spending two years as a player-coach, Mourner announced his retirement from playing following the World Bowl XIX championship game. He quickly received an offer from Ben Jameson and Coach Smart to make his unofficial position of two years an official one, and Mourner finally officially joined the Regulars’ coaching staff.

Home Stadium:
Federal Steel Field, Thomasburg (Stalhamark)
Note: Because the Allamunnic national team is used to playing during inclement weather, and IC'ly the World Bowl is during the winter in the Federation, teams that play games at Federal Steel Field should assume as a matter of course that it will be snowing during the game. I'll try and put a "weather forecast" ahead of time so that they know, but a good assumption is that it will suck for teams used to warm weather.
RP Info and Permissions:
Style Modifier: -1
Choose Scorers: I'd rather you didn't. If you do choose my scorers, if I RP within twenty-four hours, I may ask you to change my scorers. This is due to specific story-lines and characters I may want to emphasize.
Injure Players: You may injure my players; I'd prefer you not injure more than two or three in a game, and while the injury may end the player's involvement in that game, I will decide on any further inactivity for a player caused by injury.
Penalize Players: Any team considered to be a rival of the Allamunnic States (i.e. Qazox, Cassadaigua, Civil Citizenry), pretty much gets a pass to do this at will; those games may slip into 'dirty' territory. Anyone else may penalize, but should keep it realistic.
Godmod Injuries: Yes, but with same provisos as injuring players through normal means. I determine severity outside game-ending (for the player).
Godmod Other Events: Don't kill anyone or conflict with any of the above permissions. Also, if you're gonna do this, have some fun with it.
Photographs: Please do not use photographs with any players intended to depict players on my team.
Note: All players have stats of Age, Height, Weight, Tendencies, College, and Hometown provided, along with a brief description.
Additional Note: Aggressive does not even begin to describe the Allamunnic defense; if you're outside of the Top Ten or not an Allamunnic rival, I'd appreciate it if you at least made a note of any success on the ground being difficult. Moreover, whether or not they're sacks, opposing QB's tend to get hit a lot. They might well be successful, but try to keep in mind that your QB (again, unless you're in the Top Ten or one of my rivals) will likely be getting smacked around a lot (or at least make note of an exceptional effort to contain the pass rush). (Credit where credit is due: Cassadaigua first put this sort of note in, and it seemed to be a good idea, so I've followed suit).
Team Captains (Coin-Toss Purposes):

Overview:
The Regulars are coming off a World Bowl XXI campaign that can only be described as disappointing. After finishing the first group stage at 6-0 and apparently primed for another deep run, they struggled during the second group stage, losing all three games to finish 6-3, all while watching the hated Qazoxian gridiron squad win the championship.

Starters are marked in italics.

Offense:
Style: Power-Oriented Pro-Style
Primary Front: Under-Center, Two-Wide, and EITHER: Two-Tight, Single-Back OR One-Tight, Two-Back

Overview:
Last year's offense was frequently frustrating to watch, as the Regulars seemed to lose their smashmouth identity but never fully-embrace an explosive pass-first attack, which left them stymied and stifled at critical moments. In the off-season, Baeryk Vaalburger set the players to task with regaining that identity, held no job safe, and left constant reminders of the team's failure to motivate the players.

Although nobody can be positive until World Bowl play begins, all signs point to Vaalburger's success. This offense may be the most physical, foul-tempered, aggressive, yet disciplined unit to take the field for the Allamunnic States in sixteen World Bowl appearances.

As in the Regulars' best years, the offense flows primarily through the line, as nasty and physical a unit as any that's ever taken the field. Behind that line, the increasingly-proficient "franchise" QB Leif Erikson can pick defenses apart and launch the ball deep down the field for huge plays to an array of explosive (Izaak Rolle, Devin Smith) and reliable (Hael Fokkenmaar, Garrett Kelley) receivers. But, more importantly for the Allamunnae, it is what makes their bread-and-butter possible.

The Allamunnic offense has typically been a ball-control, run-first offense, and Vaalburger's work this offseason has focused largely on returning them to those roots. With capable blocking fullback John Kaiser, the backfield's three-headed monster will need to be fed with carries regularly. The most well-known of those players is Daanyl Wyndhorst, arguably the Regulars' greatest offensive weapon, a tailback who is powerful and explosive in equal measures. The second is Ole Nurdsunn, a long-established running back known for running over defenders like a freight-train. And then there's surprising newcomer Graagur Baaltrsunn, a second explosive, powerful runner.

Look out: Allamunnic smashmouth football may be about to make a huge comeback after a disappointing year.

Defense:
Style: Aggressive, Multi-front
Primary Front: 4-3 and 3-4 fronts are used with approximately-equal frequency, nickel packages are utilized as necessary as well.

Overview:
The Regulars' defense had some serious teething issues last year, largely due to the introduction of a large number of new starters and rotating players. This year, they've had a bit of time to gel, so hopefully the results will be better. Another large influx of new players has added depth to the squad, but the starters are more-or-less the same as last year, and most of the unit has acquired experience.

The Regulars' defense is a multi-front system, and this aspect has been redoubled after last year's near-flirtation with exclusive use of the 3-4 ended in failure. As a result, more varied defensive personnel allow the Regulars to use whatever fronts and personnel packages they deem necessary to counter opposing offenses. With another year's experience under his belt, coordinator Jethro Myers should be able to lead the unit to a stronger campaign than in World Bowl XXI.

Lzherusskia Soundly Defeated In Final Friendly Against San Jose Guayabal
Andrey Voroshilov Ruled Out of World Bowl XXII
Team Drawn Against World #2 German Zerabithea In First Game

SMYSLOVA: Dmitry Khudyakov has admitted he made a “serious tactical error” last night in Lzherusskia's 43-16 defeat against San Jose Guayabal.

With World Bowl XXII mere weeks away, the team comprised mainly of players fighting for places on the final roster, but a few key positions were still occupied by players widely expected to start for Lzherusskia in the tournament, including Andrey Voroshilov at running back.

Voroshilov was responsible for the team's opening points – a strong block from lineman Anatoli Nurmagomedov opened a hole for the 26-year-old to scamper through, staying ahead of the San Jose defense just long enough to hit the endzone – but at the end of the first quarter, the running back was hit low, landing awkwardly and having to be stretchered off.

It was revealed after the game that Voroshilov had torn his ACL, an injury that will keep him out of the entire World Bowl and likely also the start of the Lzher domestic league season, and critics were quick to grill Khudyakov on his decision-making process.

One fan commented: “It boggles the mind. This was a nothing game and a game we were always going to lose and now, because of his boneheadedness, our chances of doing some damage at the World Bowl just took a huge hit. Every defense we play now is going to know we're going to be throwing it all day and they're going to plan accordingly.”

With Voroshilov on the shelf, the most likely choice to take his place is 24-year-old Ignati Stroganov of CSCT Pitrikovsk, who had a strong game coming in after Voroshilov's injury, amassing 84 yards on 16 carries. Another player who may have secured his starting spot is linebacker Radomir Dyrbov – the 21-year-old from Zjednosz had two sacks and nine tackles, good enough to be named the Lzher player of the game.

Compounding the bad news was the draw for the first day of the tournament. As an unranked team, Lzherusskia were guaranteed to be drawn against one of the world's top seventeen teams anyway, but random chance threw up German Zerabithea as the first opponent. Against a team ranked second in the world and the winners of World Bowl XX, the chances of pulling off an upset are slimmer than ever, and will almost certainly see the team behind the eight-ball right from the off. An uphill battle for sure
Jim Tubot -- FREE REPUBLICS

As the Anditon Wolves prepare to face their foes from Stretta in their first match of World Bowl XXII, coach Nestor Gregori knows that they have one heck of a road to hoe. Stretta, ranked #11 overall, has an illustrious history in both World Bowl and Baptism of Iron competition - most recently reaching the Round of 16 for the past two World Bowls and winning the Baptism of Iron XIII.
"We're facing an uphill battle," Coach Gregori commented. "I think that we have a chance. Even a blind squirrel finds nuts every now and then. We just have to keep polishing the turd that we've got in front of us until it shines like a jewel. Besides, we see it as more of fire and ice - they've got a hot offense and our defense hopes to cool it off. I just hope we don't get burned in the process. Nonetheless, for our first World Bowl competition, this should be a learning experience for all involved."
Marc Fangol, former star of both the AMFL and the FAH (hockey) and current Offensive Coordinator for the Wolves has high praises for Stretta's offense. "Ultimately its the type of offense that I'd like the boys to emulate. Heck, they're a team that we're striving to be in all senses of the thought - they've been competing at a high level for a while and we're the new kids on the block. We can use this as a learning experience."
Defensive coordinator Myles Gallo has a bit of a different opinion when it comes to the game. "We can hold our own. As long as we neutralize Luke Master's offensive plans, we should be able to shut down their attack. We've got some great linebackers and a decent secondary - so we should be able to stop them in their tracks."
Either way it should be a good one, anything can happen in a football game and for one, this reporter thinks that we should have a closer contest than most others would imagine. I predict a final of Stretta: 17, Anditia: 13.

Wildcats Open at Royal Stadium

The Royal Stadium is the national stadium of Saintland, and it will host some of the biggest games of the World Bowl season coming up. Not on the list of big games for the host nation is surely “Kinzar versus Texacano”, but the Wildcats players seemed especially amped up over the chance to play on this field. It’s good to see a lot of excitement over football again, as the country returns to the World Bowl after a disappointing time in the 20th edition. Our reward is this Casaran system, which if I were to try to explain it to you, I would be over my quota of allowed bandwith to use on this website. Interestingly, some scholars from Saintland did a “what-if” on World Cup 67 qualifying if their Casaran system was used, and Kinzar would have made it to the second group stage. While I apologize for mentioning soccer in an article about football, that at least shows that this system in which the hosts will employ is something that is not inherently bad, unless you’re a top-10 team and don’t make it. Kinzites do not need to concern themselves “elite nation problems”.

You may be thinking that it would be interesting to attend this game, but the nation of Saintland may be far too traditional for your liking. For example, you can’t even a rent a car. This is one of those nations who has yet to come to the realization that cars are a necessity in life, and you will therefore be forced to take a bus or a taxi. It’s one of those nations that has a love affair with the bicycle, too. If that isn’t enough to convince you not to travel to Saintland, consider that the nation is in a cold climate, and all game time temperatures figure to be near or below the freezing mark. Don’t expect to be able to watch much television when in your hotel room either, as you have a whole five channels to choose from. You may get Cup of Harmony 59 coverage, though. (That’s a soccer tournament. Yes, we’re in it. Ok. Nevermind).

It’ll be much easier to watch the games on TV instead. Trust us.

ooc – as a preface and as explained a bit in the history, Hoptonians call American football – Handball. Mostly because players rarely use their feet in respect to the ball.

Malt Handball
a brief history

Though it doesn’t have as big a following as Association Football in HopNation,
Image
VonHopton and Churschmidt sitting on Whiskey Barrels filled with BEER
American Football is the second largest sport. With the chagrin of Warren VonHopton, Winston Churschmidt created the first league, HopNation Football League (HFL), in the HopNation State of Hefebayern (HBN). Despite the sport being the second largest (in terms of viewership through the HopNation Broadcasting Network (HBNTV), not in actual team/league size), Hefebayern (HBN) is still the only state in HopNation that plays it. This could be because Hoptonians commonly call it ‘Handball’, since the players don't usually use their feet in relation to the ball - besides the kickers. However, Churschmidt expects growth after the successful launch in Hefebayern. With the teams recent success in the 15th Baptism of Iron and the celebration that took place afterwards, Handball is growing fast. The National Team (the Malts) is a tough team that prides itself on a strong defensive unit, known as the Malt Marauders, that dominates teams. The team has slowly expanded from just a starting offense and starting defense to a fully listed squad, mostly due to the complex Players Union and their battle with League Leaders.
ooc – to know what’s happened previously with Matls Handball. Theres are all of the BOI RPs that have been used, this story will somewhat continue through the WB and any link here should not be used for my current RP points, just for reference.
Part 1 to 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10

The National Team has had some great successes thus far in their young existence. They entered the world stage in the Baptism of Iron 15, where they made it out of group play with a perfect 5-0 record. The Malts continued their strong play throughout the playoffs and ended up facing Image Free Republics in the final. That game was by far the teams toughest battle as it ended 13-12 in favor of the Malts, crowning them Champions of the 15th Baptism of Iron. The future is bright for the team, but they are now entering the 22nd World Bowl and an entirely new challenge awaits.

Quest for World Bowl Title

The Malts are set to get underway in just a mere three days in the quest to be crowned the World Bowl Champion. A tall task for a young team, but they have proven that they are one of the best newcomers to the world stage by winning the BOI. I highly doubt they will be able to knock off the likes of Image Qazox, the currently number one ranked team and defending World Bowl Champion, or even German Zerabithea and the Image Equestrian States for that matter. Even if they face ImageFree Republics again there is no guarantee of them winning, none the less they will try and hopefully be somewhat successful going forward.

Some news to pass along that was mentioned previously is that Winston Churschmidt added the final roster names to complete the Malts listing. Hopefully this will give the team some good support should there happen to be any injuries or the random tiered player needing a rest, especially on the defensive side as they had been playing with only the minimum amount of players and pulling from the offensive side of the ball if needed. The new players are:

#95 Dillon Diller DL | #68 Edward Knorty DE |#98 Larry Sweetknee LB
#96 Dexter “Bull” Dozzer DL | #91 William Williamson DE |#93 Howard Swanson LB
#97 Droimpol Dixon DL | #92 Kronk Kirkpatrick DE |#90 Gilbert Johnsonson LB
#36 Catcher Phingers CB | #20 Niguard Jorgensons SS |#30 Matthew Quible FS
#40 Siverster Larghand CB | #26 Phillip Mooser SS |#43 Alfred Pont FS
#47 Bentley Baker CB
#48 Oscar DeLaRusta CB

Other than this release for the final names to fill the roster not much else has happened relating to Handball in HopNation. Since the conclusion of the BOI and the passing of the 9 proposals the League Leaders and Players Union have seemed to settle down with no planned meetings yet. However, the League Leaders did send out a recent poll to the citizens of HopNation which questioned them on a few items.
  1. Knowledge of Handball (American Football)
  2. Time spent watching the BOI (if televised in their area)
  3. Likely hood of watching the World Bowl
  4. Desire level to watch a live game
  5. if they felt Handball could succeed in their area (if not in Hefebayern)

They have not yet released if their poll was collected, or the outcome of the poll, but it was a compulsory poll sent through the nations GAM system so there will be a mountain of data to go through and I’d expect a slight delay in any release relating to the results.

Until next time, Brew on Brew well Hoptonians.

Match Day 1 Preview – Let the World Bowl Begin

Location: RayDome, Doranto, Contoria, Free Republics | 72,469 cap | Home of the SunRays

HopNation - Malts
Results
MD1: vs Alt Kaluraya

win
loss
They will have high hopes after their successes so far and will look to capitalize on a team with a better offense than defense. Fran Bradanning will get the start at QB as there has been no reason to not to start him. The Malt Marauders will look to continue their dominant style of play and thwart the oppositions offensive efforts.

Ati Kaluraya - The Reformed Indios
Finishing fourth in Group F last World Bowl has left an unpleasant taste in the mouths of many players and they are looking to do much better this go. They did however rise from 103rd in rankings to a well respected 34th, so they did have some success, just not enough to allow them to advance past the group stage.

Prediction: Malts 10 21 The Reformed Indios

This will be a real test for the Malts as they are coming off of the BOI Championship and facing a team ranked in the top 50. The Malt Marauders will play well and hold The Reformed Indios to minimal yards, however the offense will have a few misques resulting in a substantial amount of points for their opponent. The Malts will start 0-1 in their campaign for the World Bowl.

THE LRI IS SET TO PLAY THE STONEDSURFERS!

It has been announced that the Lunar Republic Islands, who come in #40th ranked in the World, will play the 85th Ranked StonedSurfers at RepublicSoft Stadium. Ben Mauk will lead the team as the starting quarterback, the blazing fast Pegasus, Quick Drift, will be the Running Back, who lead the Lunar Football League in Rushing Yards and Touchdowns in 2012 and 2013. Billy Back talks about the team and how they will do, "I think we can go out there and win everytime. I believe in this team, I think we can win it all. We got a lot of fans here, we got a lot of confidence going into this. Now we got to put it all on the line and show it."

"We got a lot of fans out here. We have them on our side, now we need to perform for them." Quick Drift said in a Press Conference earlier today.

It's not no easy task, but the LRI Football Team believes that they can win the World Bowl. Prince Gray said, "It's not easy, but every team has a chance to win. We have a chance, and we're gonna take that opportunity and play hard."

Grid Slaves to Face Lymantatia in First Round of World Bowl

The draw for the first day of the Casaran qualification to the World Bowl was held today, and Gregoryisgodistan will face Lymantatia in Albertope, Free Republics. The Gregoryisgodistan press is referring to the venue as Albertope Stadium for legal reasons, as promotion of its sponsor, the Church of Saintland, is banned in Gregoryisgodistan. The press is controlled by the state, so while it might not be illegal to refer to the venue as Church of Saintland Stadium, the press has been instructed not to do so.

Lymantatia is ranked 118th in the world, and was the worst possible opponent Gregoryisgodistan could face. The top 17 teams were guaranteed to face the bottom 17 teams, and Lymantatia is the 18th worst team in the tournament. The Grid Slaves are looking forward to what will probably be an easy win, but it will only get harder after this.

Coach Assistant Sports Minister Jorgen Roth said, "We are very confident ahead of this matchup. Our enemy crushers should crush Lymantatia and we shall easily win this game. But this is probably going to be our easiest match the whole tournament. We just need to make sure we don't do anything stupid and we should come out on top. But we have to be ready to defeat better teams. I am confident that we will do that."

Additionally, Gregoryisgodistan named its three captains for the tournament today, as voted on by the players. The offensive unit voted for one player to be the offensive captain, while the defensive unit voted for one player to be the defensive captain. After that, all players voted for one at-large captain. wide receiver Navy SuperAdmiral Q-Bert McFee was named offensive captain in what was described by an anonymous player as "a very large margin," while defensive end Enemy Crusher Carl Paladino was named defensive captain. Defected Chicago Bear Brian Urlacher was named the at-large captain.

All of those players are in their second cycle with the Foot Slaves. This is the first time Gregoryisgodistan has officially named captains. Last cycle, the role rotated from game to game until it cycled through everybody on the team, then began again.

Last World Bowl featured the execution of most of the Gregoryisgodistan offense for very poor play. The offensive line and a couple wide receivers are back, but nobody else is. They are all dead. The new offensive unit will look to do better. Quarterback Zookeeper ZNZ949AHX said, "I hope that we will do better than our predecessors. I am sure we will. I look forward to hosting the World Bowl trophy on the first of February. I will make sure we do not disappoint our beloved fans. Go Grid Slaves!"

Lymantatia has not yet released its roster, so it is impossible to analyze the opponent. But Gregoryisgodistan continues to bring in a strong defense and will look to roll to victory over an inferior opponent. The matchup will take place on January 12, in three days time. The Grid Slaves will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance last World Bowl.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my scorers: Y
Choose scoring events: Y
RP injuries to my players: Y, 1 per every other game, and maybe one season ender, idk just don't cripple my team.
Godmod scoring events: Y, honestly, you can run back 110 yard punts for every one of your scores.
Godmod injuries: Y, honestly just as long as my players don't seem dumb while they do, unless it's Steve
Godmod other events: Y, go crazy. Just don't kill Caek or star recievers or backs. And by kill I mean literally kill or critically injure.

Stadium
All professional, national and international and some amateur sports are played at the Wolfen Sports Complex in the Metro Sector.

The big soccer and football stadium, which can seat up to 45,000, is up at the top, along with two fields above it that anyone can use. To the far left are several tennis courts, and to the side of them is the basketball stadium, which seats up to 25,000. In the center is the hockey arena, with enough room for 35,000 people, which is sometimes also used for big concerts and events. To the right is a world class gym used for all training purposes, and also includes a pool in the basement. At the bottom of the map is the recreation park, with basketball courts, a biking track, and other activities citizens may enjoy.

Some tips on roleplaying against the Iron Wolves: the team uses about any play it can utilize well, like Triple Option plays, Long Passes, or Mid Runs. Plays are extremely varied. The team will usually choose to punt on a fourth down, unless they're feeling daring or need to in order to secure the game. Caek will usually scramble away should the O-line fall to bits. Defense prefers to hit hard rather than pick off more than often, but agile CBs will sometimes pick off as it's easy. Trick plays can happen every so often. A lot of the after game reports will be told through first person of a player or coach, rather than a newspaper article. A wolf is usually brought with the team to represent as a mascot. This year's wolf is Daxter, a smaller white wolf that's pretty hyper and a nips a bit much.

Feminstvs Sanctvsterra thwarts attempt to rig World Bowl XXII Draw

Today, your heroines thwarted an attempt by the Puppet King to rig the draw for World Bowl XXII. Our heroic hackers discovered that the computer program that conducted the draw for the World Bowl had been rigged to draw Gregoryisgodistan against Estope. We simply could not allow such a miscarriage of justice to happen, so we sprung into action.

We hired a computer programmer to reverse engineer the computer program that was set up to conduct the World Bowl draw. As it turned out, the program was rigged to draw Gregoryisgodistan against the most difficult possible opponent. Upon request, she happily agreed to undo that because it was a complete miscarriage of justice!

Gregoryisgodistan is a nation that is known as one of the multiverse's leading champions of human rights. In the past, we have spoken with Lord Almighty Gregory himself and we must admit that he is everything that he claims to be. He is God and he is the creator of this world. While the multiverse was created by the Goddess, we nonetheless respect Lord Almighty Gregory for everything that he has created and for being a champion of equality and social justice. We certainly weren't going to allow that miscarriage of justice to go forward!

We are posting this publicly to warn Lord Almighty Gregory, whom we greatly respect, that the Grid Slaves should expect to face biased officiating in this World Bowl. We also hope that Cassadaigua and the Equestrian States heed our warning as well. Don't trust the World Bowl organizers or their officials. They even changed the rulebook, just to put the Equestrian States at a disadvantage. If that doesn't tell you that they are desperate, I don't know what will.

OOC: I'll probably post some RPs here and there, although I'm not going to put forth the same level of RPing effort that I normally do until the latter stages of this World Bowl, should my team make it there, at which team a 3rd party scorinator would handle my games.

The Republic of Zhenovia, after a 3rd place finish in the Baptism of Iron has moved on to play in the World Bowl XXII. The defense can hopefully continue its stifling ways, but the offense needs to step it up in order for the Zhenovians to do well here. Shawn Winthrop has struggled to finish drives, and numerous scoring opportunities have resulted in field goals. "It's something we've been working on over the past week," Winthrop said, "we will be facing elite competition. Better teams than in the BoI. The difference between a touchdown and field goal or even not scoring at all could be the difference in a game. We can't just rely on our defense." Meanwhile, defensive captain and middle linebacker Parker Teague was excited for the next competition. "That semifinal loss in the Baptism of Iron was rough, but we can step it up and do well here. Our defense is solid and we have great chemistry. It's a great formula for success." We shall see how the Republic of Zhenovia does here on the big stage in the coming games.

The citizens of Zhenovia are proud of how well their team did in the Baptism of Iron. Local sports fanatic and high school teacher Oliver Hudson said, "We love our Crimson and Navy. Parker Teague is a monster on defense and Max Bolton is dangerous in open space. Although, I'd like to see Shawn Winthrop utilize the scramble more. He is rather quick, you know. And our kicker Sebastien Helms has a boot for a leg. I think we can surprise some people this year, and eventually rise to an elite level." Another local, and a bar frequenter Willie Logan simply shouted "GO CRIMSON TIGERS!" before leading the bar in a rather drunken version of the national anthem. Without a doubt, the nation is behind their team and will be watching them as they play in the World Bowl XXII.

Note: Crimson Tigers or the Crimson and Navy are the unofficial nicknames for the nation's sports teams, with the exception of the U21 soccer team, who are affectionately called the 'bushbabies.'
