Cup of Harmony 59 Bid

Postby Valanora » Wed Dec 25, 2013 8:05 pm

A Vanorian Bid for CoH 59

Who And Why?
That would be the Atlantian Oceania nation of Valanora who is looking to maintain and uphold the heritage and traditions of NSSport's most long running sports competition. This bid is a call back to the ideas and traditions that have allowed the CoH to endure and prosper. Valanora is a historical nation full on intrigue and diversity aplenty with a welcoming populace eager to assist others in any way they can.

What are the machinations?
In accordance with the theme of the bid, I will be looking to use a traditional software in NSFS, using the most updated of versions, 3.0.1. In this edition of the software, maxpoints, the ranking of a squad, and the style modifier of a squad can be altered on any matchday, much akin to its predacessor in the NSFS 2.7, that was used to great extent through many of the pre-NS hosted forums and a few of the NS hosted forums cycles. The RP bonus is also to be allocated on a cumulative nature, though the exact number of KPBs available per matchday will not be provided.

My format would prefer eight groups of 4 nations each, though it may be expanded to eight groups of 5 nations each if enough nations merit an invitation, or lowered if not enough meet expectaction. At the minimum, a demonstration of quality RPs and a roster need be posted by a nation to be considered for an invitation.

Should nations be tied on points after the Group Stage, the tiebreakers will be as followed: Goal Difference, H2H result, Wins, and Goals Scored.

Past Experience?
Valanora has a plethora of hosting experience, the user having hosted WCC events no less than ten times, as well as other major tournaments, including the DBC and WCoH. The user has the adequate experience and the nation the infrastructure to host such an event should they be awarded the tournament.

With the outline of our bid now laid out, we are open for questions regarding it from the World Cup community.

Why did you select GD over H2H in the tiebreakers?

I think that the total output over the affair as to one or two results is a more accurate reflection of a teams strength. For an OOC example, a team like Manchester United or Bayern Munich totally dominates their league but they have a bad personnel match up against one club in particular and routinely draw or lose to that team.

You don't sign up for the Cup of Harmony, the host invites 32 (or 40), of the best teams who failed to qualify for the World Cup.
Honours:
International FireStorm V Cup Winner with Watford FC
International FireStorm VI Cup Winner with St Albans City FC
