OOC/Signup Tread
I don't know if you guys remember this, but there was league a couple of months ago called the Amateur American Football League that was run by the now CTE'd New Tebow. It was a good run. Looking back on it now, we were just a bunch of noobs having fun. The league had great character though. We had a hall of fame and rivalries, it was great fun. That is why I am restarting the league under a new name, the Amateur American Football Association.
Part of the reason I think it died out was the lack of organization. As I said, we were a bunch of noobs just having fun, so organization wasn't exactly our priority. If the AAFA were to make it past our first season, I have come up with a system for administration.
I would be the league commissioner the first season just to get us rolling. The league commissioner is responsible for posting the season IC thread, accepting teams, and most importantly scoring. After each season, we would have a commissioner election. The whole process will run like the host bidding in most tournaments here on NS Sports. This way if the commissioner CTE's, we can put another in place to continue the league.
So, for the first season, I will be the commissioner. I am going to aim for 16 teams. There would be 2 conferences with 2 divisions of 4 teams. Each team would play their divisional opponents twice, and play twice vs. each out of division opponent. In total, there will be 14 games in a season. Based on this, I will take the winners and runners up of the divisions and put them in a conference bracket. The winners of each of these brackets will play each other for the Commissioner's Cup, the trophy of the AAFA. I will be scorinating with NSFS 3.0.1.
There would be 2 games per week. This way, we can keep a short time frame to optimize interest and keep it going. There will probably be a weeklong break between seasons for Commissioner bids and then a week of signups or so. I'll leave the rest for later.
This is still a bit hypothetical. I need to see a contingent of people who would be willing to join. When we get a large amount, I will post the OOC/Signup thread. If you have any questions and suggestions(including the names for the conferences and divisions) just post here.
