Welcome to the inaugural season of the International Super Formula Championship (NSFC).

This thread is open to those who have registered and have been accepted.

Featuring a semi-open formula with a common spec chassis, up to 32 drivers will battle across eight world circuits to prove the superiority of not only their skills, but also their engines and tyres. With a single aerodynamic, suspension, and transmission setting across all cars, the best combination of skill, strategy, suppliers, and luck will come out on top.

Regulations
  1. All rounds will consist of two Qualifying Sessions and a Race Session.
  2. All registered drivers will attempt first qualifying session (Q1).
  3. Drivers with Q1 times outside of 107% of Q1 pole will be scored as 'DNQ' and earn no points for the round.
  4. The drivers with the top 14 times in Q1 will participate in Q2.
  5. The top 14 grids in race will be given based on Q2 times. Remaining grids are determined by Q1 times.
  6. All races will be held to the end of the first lap over 249.8km.
  7. All points-paying races will start with a staggered double-file rolling start.
  8. Drivers failing to complete a minimum 80% of race distance, rounded up to the nearest whole lap, will be scored as 'DNF" and earn no points for the round.
  9. All races will have two compulsory pit stops, at 1/3 and 2/3 race distance ±15km, rounded to the nearest whole lap.
  10. Compulsory pit windows will be announced with finalised calendar.
  11. During compulsory pit stop, all four tyres must be changed and car must be refueled.
  12. Unless changing tyres due to weather conditions or to replace defective tyres, tyre change outside of compulsory windows is prohibited.
  13. Refuel outside of compulsory windows is prohibited.
  14. Only two air wrenches are permitted in the pit work box.
  15. During refuel, all four tyres must be attached to the car.
  16. Unless stated otherwise in relevant circuit regulations, maximum pit lane speed is 80 km/h.
  17. All teams have one dry tyre compound and one wet tyre compound.

Introducing the International Super Formula Championship

The Calendar

After three sucessful seasons with international entries, the Hodori GT Association (Hodori GT-A) has announced the first international series based on Formula Hodori specifications, the International Super Formula Championship (NSFC). Held across eight rounds in four regions, the series will start in the Hodori Archipelago with the 250km of Dashoze, the traditional home circuit of Dekijika Automotive.

The next two rounds will be held in Atlantian Oceania, with visits to the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course and the Inevitable Syndicate's Cardertower International Circuit. The VMCC has previously hosted rounds of the NSSCRA stock car series and the WGPC open-wheel championship. Cardertower International Circuit previously hosted the international finales of the Formula Hodori and Hodori GT Championship seasons.

Esportiva hosts rounds four and five. Super Formula Round Sangti will be contested at Circuito de Respaña Viejo, the shortest circuit on the calendar at under 3.8 kilometres. The second Esportivan round will visit the Las Estepas National Racetrack in San Jose Guayabal.

The final three rounds are scheduled to take place in Rushmore. Round six will be hosted Gold Park Circuit in Liventia, home of the World Grand Prix Organisation, followed by the 5.1km Lindsborough Motor Speedway in Vaugania. The eighth and final round of the inaugural NSFC will be hosted at the 4.6km Darmeni Ilgana Circuit

The Qualifying
At the time of this writing, the Hodori GT-A has confirmed that qualifying will consist of two sessions, a Q1 session with the full grid, and a second Q2 session with, at the time of this writing, the top 11 Q1 times. Times outside of 107% of the Q1 pole will be disallowed and the affected drivers will not start, unless within the top 11 times. Assuming the full field qualifies, the top 11 grids will be assigned based on Q2 times, regardless of Q1 performance. The remaining 15 grids will be assigned based on Q1 times.

The Race
All rounds will be advertised as 250km, although competition lap count will be calculated from a minimum distance of 249.8km. As opposed to traditional open-wheel races, the NSFC will start with a GT-style staggered double-file rolling start. Each race will also feature two compulsory pit windows, where all four tyres must be changed, two at a time, and the car must be refueled. Pitting outside of the mandatory windows may result in penalties if the car is refueled or tyres changed, unless the pit was forced by tyre damage or weather and course conditions make it unsafe to continue using the current tyre.

The Chassis
Derived from the FH169 chassis used in the open-wheel Formula Hodori series, Yemigama HPI's SF01 serves as the common chassis for all teams participating the the inaugural NSFC. 500BHP from the 3.4-litre normally-aspirated V8 engine of choice is sent through the WhiteRock Drive Systems WR6SZ six-speed clutchless manual transmission to the rear wheels. At all four corners, the car rests on Yemigama HPI double A-Arm pullrods and 330/35R18 tyres mounted on Sakite B6IIIe 46x33 aluminium alloy wheels. 360mm Kizagama Ceramic D36C carbon ceramic discs with 6-pot calipers front and 4-pot calipers rear stop the car. In Formula Hodori, all cars used 97RON unleaded fuel supplied by Coalition Oil, while in the first NSFC, teams may use 97RON unleaded fuel from any supplier.

With driver, camera, and recording equipment, the complete machine minus fuel and any applicable handicap ballast weighs in at 675kg.

The Points Scales
with the current registered roster of 26 drivers, 13 teams, 11 engine suppliers, and 10 tyres uppliers, the Hodori GT-A has announced the following points scales:

Drivers will carry a weight handicap equal to the total number of points earned from the second round to the seventh round. Ballast will not be applied in the final round.

The Teams
At the time of this writing, 13 teams have registered for and granted entry. The teams are listed below based on numberical order of the designated first driver.

One of several teams crossing over from Formula Hodori, Darmen's Ilgana Racing Team fields Billy Newman (No.5) and Joshua Parks (No.6). The Ilgana factory team machines are powered by the Ilgana 3.4L Mk.I X2013V8A engine and wears Ilgana Mk.2013B tyres.

Vilita & Turori Motorsports, a competitor in the WGPC since the 11th season and in the NSGP since its inception as the AOMC, will exapnd to another class of open-wheel racing with Vilitan Juracai Klianiota (No.7) and Turori driver iBen Toralmintii (No.77). Klianiota and Toralmintii have both started their world motorsport careers in the fourth season of the NSSCRA stock car series. Toralmintii has since participated in the WGPC, driving for WGPC works teams to date.

Welsh Cowboy's Tornetti Motorsports will be represented by world motorsports rookie Louise Blaine (No.9) and Vilitan Lake Suzgar (No.14). Suzgar's previous motorsports experience consists of two seasons in the NSSCRA. Tornetti Motorsports will use the Hodoran Dekijika VS/E340E and Deyoze Ikakota, making it one of two teams to use both engines and tyres of a different nationality.

Vauganian DataSat Racing will be the nation's second participation in world motorsports, after Olympia Racing in the fifth NSSCRA season. Pilots Nico Lidstrom (No.19) and Claude Dandenault (No.11) will wield Lindsborough Motor Works' P Series 500 engine and Vulcan Racing Deluxe Tyres.

GW Motors, the state-run factory team from Greater Watford, will be represented by pilots Ben Blue (No.22) and Alicia Altador (No.23). The GW Motors V8 spec1 engine and GW Tyres T1 complete the machines.

MTS Systems Racing, another team also participating in Formula Hodori, retains the pairing of Syndicatian driver Emile Quinn (No.36) and Audioslavian Lyle Ulric (No.37). MTS is expected to try and follow up their Formula Hodori Teams Championship victory with an overall win in the NSFC. MTS will switch to the LMW P Series 500 for propulsion and Dubrack Laurence Icestorm for grip, both equivalents to the McPahan Link V8 engine and Sakite Celaeno tyres used by the team in Formula Hodori.

Newcomers Ashkenaz Racing Team will field two cars powered by the Merkava Motors 3.4L MM-800T. Levi Eisenstadt (No.44) and Abraham Barron (No.47) will use Guyabalian Carvedstone Autobahn tyres.

Britannual Racing, from San Jose Guayabal, will make their open-wheel racing debut with Fernando Olivares (No.45) and Anastacio Montoya (No.46). Chuchuki supplies the team's Chu/ER/320 and tyres are provided by Carvedstone.

Albaieien Imperial Motorsports's delegation consists of Sir Steven Mainsail (No.63) and Robert Ulturn (No.42). Dubrack Laurence provides the remaining components of the cars, with the DL Firestorm sending power through DL Icestorm tyres.

Kizagama Ceramic, supplier for the carbon ceramic brakes used in Hodoran motorsport and for the NSFC, is traditionally a Sakite Racing Team partner. Using KizaCera's traditional numbers, the female pair of Kuetasa Yakusamo (No.93) and Kubariko Zakemi (No.94) will represent Hodori. KizaCera SF Dekijika arms itself with the Dekijika VS/E340E powerplant and Deyoze Ikakota tyres.

Archer Motorsport, a competitor and instant championship contender in the Hodori GT and Rally Championships since starting their participation three years ago, will make its first foray into world open-wheel racing with Reginald Porter (No.96) and Lauren Ashburton (No.97). Archer Motorsports provides the FXCS-450 NA engine and Longbow X tyres to the factory team.

Monghit Motorsport, participating in Formula Hodori as Samson Delilah - Monghit Motorsport, will bring Bryant Gambal (No.98) from their FH operation. Rudolf Ibuna (No.99), lead pilot for the BancaRote - Motorsport Sangti team in FH will join Gambal as Sangti's representatives. As in Formula Hodori, Anutin Tabu and Paniamogan provide engines and tyres respectively, with the Anutin Tabu Kidlat RV02 and Paniamogan Kapit.

The Engines
As with Formula Hodori, all engines supplied to teams are first sent to the Hodori GT-A for assessment. Engines are normally-aspirated V8 with a maximum displacement of 3400cc and maximum power of 500BHP, identical to powerplants used in FH and in all new machines to participate in the top GT1 class of the Hodori GT Championship.

The supplied engines at the time of this writing will be listed from least to most powerful, and in alphabetical order for engines with similar performance.

Nassau Hessen's Yokohama Eagle JR120 is the least powerful engine, but the most reliable. Although teams using this engine are not expected to excel in qualifying, the durable and fuel-efficient engine should perform well in more demanding rounds.

The next three engines, the Archer Motorsport FXCS-450 NA, GW Motors V8 spec1, and Ilgana 3.4L Mk.I X2013V8A, are not exceptional in any area but also don't have any notable flaws, according to assessment. Archer Motorsport and Ilgana will have at minimum experience in Hodoran motorsports to draw from.

The Anutin Tabu Kidlat, with one FH season, and the Chuchuki Chu/ER/320, a relative newcomer, offer slightly more power than the previously listed engines, but are also slightly more fragile.

Dekijika Automotive's VS/E340E, Dubrack Laurnece's Firestorm, and Vilita & Turori Motor's VTM-SF1 share similar design and performance. The VS/E340E previously sent two drivers to the Driver's Championship title three times (Asao Nadakei, S167 and S169; Kobaieto Tashika, S168) and one team to the Team's Championship title twice (Dekijika Racing/Supernova FH Dekijika, S167 and S168) for the past three Formula Hodori seasons. The VTM-SF1 benefits from Vilita & Turori Motorsports' past world motorsports experience, while Dubrack Laurence relies on any domestic results and development.

The most powerful and most delicate and fuel-hungry engines currently registered, the LMW P Series 500 and Merkava Motors 3.4L MM-800T, although converging on a similar design as McPahan's 3.4L Link V8 variant, do not yet have the same reputation for frequent spontaneous combustion. MTS Systems Racing, using the functionally equivalent Link v8, managed to win the Formula Hodori Team's Championship in their first attempt. With similar behaviour expected from the LMW P Series 500, Syndicatian Emile Quinn and Audioslavian Lyle Ulric will no doubt seek to repeat the achievement.

The Tyres
Tyres at all four corners of the machine are of steel-belted radial construction, nominally 330mm wide, with a nominal wheel diameter of 460mm and nominal total diameter of 690mm, or roughly 330/35R18. Denoted as Z33x46/69R under Hodori Transit Authority regulations, the tyre size is shared between Formula Hodori and the Hodori GT Championship.

The tyres supplied to teams, accurate at the time of writing, are lsited below from hardest to softest, and in alphabetical order for tyres of similar compound.

The Vulcan Racing Deluxe is the hardest compound available to teams, and depending on fuel consumption may allow for longer stints between pits.

Tyres from Deyoze and Scandia, the Ikakota and Meldiklevel respectively, use a slightly softer compound and offer more grip. The Deyoze Ikakota was used by Formula Hodori champion Asao Nadakei and the Supernova FH Dekijika team, with slightly different compounds used for the inaugural NSCS 6 Hours of Davenport race-winning Z31T, piloted by Sayono Kayani and Sezako Yegini, and the final drivers championship win for the Z31T, piloted by Luensato Kazume and Mizeno Zabane in the HGTC.

The medium-compound Carvedstone Autobahn, GW Tyres T1, Ilgana Mk.I X2013B, Paniamogan Kapit, and Tropicorp Sifaka strike a balance between durability and grip. Ilgana's Mk.I X2013B seeks to improve on the Mk.I X2013A used in Formula Hodori. The compound used for the Paniamogan Kapit is virtually unchanged from the one used in Formula Hodori.

The next-softest compound is used by Dubrack Laurence, and is expected to be similar in character to the Sakite Celaeno tyre used by Hodoran Sakite Racing Teams and several customer teams.

Archer Motorsport's soft-compound Longbow X offers the most grip of the current selection but sacrifices longevity, placing a greater emphasis on tyre conservation since drivers are only allowed two stops to change tyres.

This Is a Big Day Racing Fans!

Welsh Cowboy motorsports enthusiasts, this is the day we've been waiting for! Tomorrow, the inaugural season of the International Super Formula Championship opens, and Welsh Cowboy has entered!

Businessman James Tornetti, who has for years pushed to bring motorsports, specifically open-wheel racing, to this nation, has entered a team in the NSFC, where it will be competing against teams from renowned racing nations such as Vilita, Hodori, and Darmen. Tornetti has also announced that during race days, he will not be involved in operations, instead choosing to sit amongst the regular fans and take in the atmosphere and experience.

Tornetti announced two weeks ago the two drivers he'd selected for the team. First, he selected Welsh Cowboy driver Louis Blaine, a 24-year old who has been a leading figure in the small, and largely amateur, Welsh Cowboy racing community since his early adolescence. Most recently, he won the National Go Kart Association's driver's title, clinching the title after winning 5 of the first 7 races. While he has little open-wheel racing experience, Tornetti released the following statement upon the signing:

I've had the pleasure of knowing Louis for several years, and I have seen this young driver continue to mature and develop into the skilled and confident professional he is today. I have no doubt that he can make the admittedly large jump to the NSFC with ease, and I look forward to celebrating victories with him in the coming seasons.


And secondly, and much more controversially, Tornetti announced that he had signed Vilitan free agent driver Lake Suzgar. The decision surprised many analysts, including the entire staff of this blog, because Tornetti had announced, and held to, that he would fill the second driver's seat with a native Welsh Cowboy driver. Instead, though, he chose to sign the Vilitan, who has international racing experience in the stock car field, specifically the NSSCRA.

Almost immediately, the signing of Suzgar elicited a flurry of responses from Welsh Cowboy blogs and social media. One intern for the Sports Register, 23-year old Anna Mariloppi, was fired after posting on social media: "This nation ought to be ashamed. We've let dogs drive our cars."

Regardless, owner Tornetti has not backed down, sticking by his decision to hire the experienced, and capable, Suzgar. He has also remained firm in his determination to utilize the Hodoran team's engine and tyres. (Or "tires", as we call them) This makes Tornetti one of only two teams to use an engine and tire package from outside their home country.

And so it begins. Tornetti heads to the 5.208-km Dashoze Circuit in Hodori. The course features twenty-nine turns, including chicanes, esses, and a hairpin. What does Louis Blaine see happening? Here are his words in an email to this blog.

"Welsh Cowboy deserves a winner. They've got one now."

Preview/Super Formula Round Hodori


The first season of the International Super Formula Championship will be getting underway tomorrow with the qualifying for Super Formula Round Hodori at Dashoze Circuit. The track itself is 5.208km in length and the race will last for a total of 48 laps. The forecast is a 60% chance of rain, so the NSFC may open up on a rather dreary day, but we don't care too much as long as we still get to see some racing. First we'll review DataSat Racing and the engines and tires going on the cars. Their appearance was just released.

LMW P Series 500

DataSat Racing turned to Lindsborough Motor Works' Performance Series line of engines to power their cars. The P Series is the most powerful engine is the most powerful available to NSFC teams. In addition to DataSat, MTS Sytems Racing and Johanson Motorsports, both of which feature a mix of Syndicatian and Audioslavian drivers, have also opted to use LMW's engine. All three teams, however, may have to deal with some blown-up engines as the power in the P Series was achieved through a sacrifice in reliability. Klaus Laszmann, the pit boss at DataSat, said of the engines, "These engines can blow up as much as they'd like as long as they do it after the race. The only thing I care about right now is an engine that will make our cars go fast and these fit the bill." Nico Lidstrom also commented on the engines by saying, "My plan is to drive this car so fast that it will cross the finish line before the engine even has a chance to blow up."

Vulcan Racing Deluxe

Vulcan has been named as the provider for the cars' tires. The Smeltertown-based tiremakers will be provided their Racing Deluxe model. It is the hardest tire available for use this season and also possesses the greatest longevity. This means the car suffers in the grip department, but Claude Dandenault is confident that this won't be a factor. He told us, "My job as the driver is to keep this car on the track and I'm confident in my abilities as a driver. It doesn't matter that these tires don't have as much grip as the others. With the longevity on these things, I'll have the freshest tires on the track for a good long amount of time. As long as I keep the car in the race, DataSat will come out on top."

Unlike the P Series 500, DataSat will be the only team making use of Vulcan's tires. It will be very interesting to see if the tires give them any sort of advantage and if the other team missed out by opting for a different model.

The Drivers

In the #11 car for DataSat will be Claude Dandenault and Nico Lidstrom in the #19. Nico Lidstrom is the junior of the two at 24 years of age. The young driver is highly aggressive and focuses and going really, really fast. He is a bit lacking in the technical category so that could be a concern going into some races with many curves such as the Dashoze Circuit he will be racing on tomorrow. On the plus side, he has good endurance, so he will be able to withstand the 250 km rather well. As long as it isn't raining that is. With substandard racing ability on wet tracks, we have reason to be concerned on 3 of the 8 circuits on the schedule where we have a good probability of rain.

Dandenault is the older of the pair having graced the world with his presence for 32 years. He is a more conservative driver than Lidstrom and doesn't place so much emphasis on speed. His technical ability is much greater than that of Lidstrom's, meaning he will likely have better finishes on curvy tracks that don't feature as many straightaways. He has cited as a reason for his more conservative approach being that "the car does the actual racing" and that his job is to "simply keep it between the line". He obviously has a lot of trust in the car that has been put together for him. While he may not be breaking any track records or finishing at the top of the table in qualifying, we could see him finishing near the top after the 250km that really count.

Headquarters, Tropicorp :: Vilita & Turori Motorsports today unveiled their new Super Formula racing machines at the headquarters area of Tropicorp, the for-profit Semi-Government entity charged with doing all the things that they didn't want to have done on the main Island of Vilita.

One of the byproducts of Tropicorps development in a remote location on the Calanian mainland has been the removal of native and wild tree species to make way for development space and storage areas.

However, when doing an assessment of the local fauna, Tropicorp engineers discovered a dense grove of rubber-producing trees located conveniently next to an already-cleared field with solid earth below to build a make-house.
Within weeks, a brand new rubber plant was up and running. They just needed something to do with it.

In came the Vilita & Turori Motorsports team, looking to use the special Calanian rubber to create high performance racing tyres for testing purposes.

It wasn't long before the tooling was done and Racing Tyres were popping out on an hourly basis from the workshop at Tropicorp.

The first tests went splendidly well. Using an old WGPC 12 car, R. L. Cruisin turned a lap of 1:25.314 unofficially beating the old track record lap that was held by Stang Crax.

As a for-profit entity, however, Tropicorp officials weren't satisfied just pumping out tyres for test purposes.

With the announcement of a new racing league, the International Super Formula Championships, Tropicorp officials knew they had to get their foot in the door and start building a customer base.

The only way to do that was to get their tyres on the track for the NSFC.

After several teams were hesitant to take on the brand new Tropicorp Sifaka model High Performance Racing Tyre for themselves, Tropicorp officials went back to the Vilita & Turori Motorsports group with a truck full of Tyres and buckets full of money. They needed a team to use their Tyres in the NSFC - and if that meant fully funding the team, thats what they needed to do.

So, Vilita & Turori Motorsports officials made some phone calls and got a couple of drivers in the mix - and a team was born. The Vilita & Turori Motorsports Super Formula team sponsored by the Tropicorp Engineering Division.

The Car


Archer is no stranger to the world of Motorsports. Since 1962, when John Archer built his very first car to compete in the local rally, Archer have always been dedicated to creating the optimum sporting vehicles. But despite over 50 years of rally experience and Grand Touring racing, Archer has never before built or raced in an open-wheel event. Until now. For the first time ever, Archer Motorsports will send a team of two drivers to compete in the inaugural International Super Formula Championship. The Archer Motorsports Super Formula team will consist of Reginald Porter and Lauren Ashburton.

As always in motorsport, the vehicle is key. With the chassis and most of the hardware supplied by the race committee, the only parts Archer had direct control over was the engine and tyres. Despite an open market on most parts, Archer opted to manufacture all components themselves. The result, unveiled today by Archer CEO Franklin Brown and AMSF racing chief Bernard Walcott, is a rather unique car. The colour scheme is Barunian sporting yellow, with the same cayenne red found on the national flag. Archer has been competing in these colours for the last 10 years.

The vehicles have been assigned the racing numbers 96 and 97. Archer originally applied for 23 and 97, but were denied because 23 was already taken by the GW Motors team from Greater Watford. This decision caused some controversy, as GW Motors handed in their application after AMSF. AMSF were required to make some changes to their application, by which time GW Motors application had been processed, but as the issue was not connected Reginald Porter, the driver meant to be assigned number 23, Walcott feels that the number should have been allowed. Number 23 has significance for Barunia, as the country's national day falls on the 23rd of December. Lauren Ashburton will race in car number 97, which also has significance for Archer, as John Archer was born on the 9th of July.

MTS Systems To Field NSFC Team
That's right, after a huge success in Hodori, MTS Systems is finally stepping up to the big leagues and fielding a team for the first NSFC championship. The NSFC shares many similarities to Formula Hodori, which should allow the team to transfer well to the international competition. Also joining MTS from FH is Audioslavian team Johanson Motorsports, who battled hard with us and took 2nd in the constructors last year. 6th placed Kizagama Ceramic will also be competing from the previous host nation.

Ralph Michaels "Unimpressed" With LMW Performance
Team boss Ralph Michaels was "unimpressed" with the performance of the LMW P Series 500 engine last Sunday, during testing at Nosio Circuit in Nostromo. He claimed the engine was "Not as fast as the Link in testing, but at least it was a little more reliable." On paper, the two engines seemed to be of equal power, but in testing the Link V8 has had the upper hand. The only issue is that the Link V8, while in the top of it's field, is a very volatile engine that luckily held together during the FH, but the Audioslavian Manufacturers were unable to submit it for the the NSFC. Michaels had to make the difficult decision to make the switch, and claims that he "now has to live with the consequences". Drivers Quinn and Ulric were mostly accepting of the engine change, after claims that a shinier part on the car would improve morale and hopefully lap times.

Quinn Looking Forward To Qualifying, Ulric Not So Sure
Quinn has expressed his excitement for the upcoming qualifying round in Hodori, claiming that "he'll do exactly what he can to wrestle the car to the top". Quinn performed exceptionally in Hodori, coming second in the drivers championship, and is going for the win here on the international stage. Roger Bunn, his ex-teammate from back in the day at Synclair, managed to move on to the WGPC with Audioslavian team McPahan, and finish 8th in his drivers championship with the team coming 2nd. So while Quinn is gunning for the win, Lyle Ulric on the other hand seems more conservative, claiming " I just need to try my best", and that he "hopes the new engine doesn't explode on me halfway through". Last time the two were at the track, Emile Quinn managed to come from 4th in the qualifiers to a 1st place finish a whole 8 seconds ahead of Johanson, who came second. Ulric didn't fare as well, after suffering and engine problem on the 28th lap that he couldn't come back from. Hopefully this time Ulric can get it together, and the two can lay the foundations to a fantastic season in the NSFC.

GW Motors enters NSFC1
GW Motors are participating as a works team in the NSFC1. The spec chassis is equipped with the GW Motors V8 spec1 engine. The designer Villo Velocito said that the design "is a fine balance between power and reliability. We don't excel in either department, but we feel it was important to strike a balance to ensure maximum efficiency in our operation". GW Tyres T1, equipped on the cars are also a balance between speed and reliability.

The team is sponsored by several businesses in Greater Watford, mainly Commobile, the leading telecommunications supplier in Greater Watford, and Blu-Tec, a high-tech vehicle design company. The car's livery reflects the main colours of Greater Watford, and is a relatively simple, yet functional design.

Ben Blue
Age:31
Ben Blue, hailing from St Albans, is one of the top drivers in the GWF Series, the national series of Greater Watford. Beaten to the title by Max Speed last season, Ben Blue was the natural choice for GW Motors to promote to the NSFC1 team, having driven for them in GWF. He isn't an overly aggressive driver, and he isn't a keen wet-weather drive, but his driving as a methodical style to it. He is a consistent driver, and is keenly involved in the development of the setup of the car, giving the technical team vital insight into how the car is working.

Alicia Altador
Age:23
Many people raised eyes when Alicia entered GWF as a rookie last season. The daughter of Herman Altador, the team owner of Altador Racing, she drove for her father's team last season in GWF. Despite being a rookie, she showed an aggressive style, fighting on the track with several highly-ranked drivers. Her wet weather skills were hugely praised, and by the end of the season, with 2 wins in the wet, she had come 3rd in the series. GW Motors offered her a contract for the NSFC1 series, which she eagerly accepted, and she has become one of only a few female drivers to compete in top level motorsports.

Nekoni Enters NSFC1

(Super Formula Round Hodori) Grande Scuderia Nekoni have today announced their new car liveries for the inaugral Super Formula Championship. The liveries are based on the colours of the Nekonian flag, with sponsorship by a popular sports clothing company. The numbers assigned are 91/92, and a last minute bid by the GSN to include a Nekoni round in the season roster was accepted at the eleventh hour, meaning that the fifth round shall be a hi-octane blast through the hills and valleys of Derneo's stunning countryside.

Born in 1988 to a wealthy family in a small village in the centre of the country, Mastretta first stepped into a go-kart at age 15, and never looked back. His first season of real racing took place in 2007, and although he finished 12th in a field of 20, he loved the thrill of open wheeled close-quarters racing. As the years rolled by, his standings increased, and he grew from an unruly teen into a confident, calm driver. Off track, he always has been a reserved type, deciding that the skidmarks on the track spoke so many more words than he could in an interview.

Alex spent much of the last year living in the shadow of a certain other Alex in racing. Everyone who's heard of the Nekonian racing scene remembers the 2013 24hr of Nekoni race where Alexandra Mayari took the chequered flag. Everyone also remembered her heart-breaking early retirement in 2012, when she crashed whilst in the lead. Mastretta won that year, and barely got recognition for it. Coming second on the title defense didn't do wonders for his popularity either. It seems, even in Nekoni, a land of catpeople, they love an underdog. Not that it annoyed Mastretta: the rare bits to camera on NTR Sports he has done were short, monosyllabic exchanges, with him appearing to want to be somewhere else rather than being ogled at by 500,000 strangers through a lens.

However, Mastretta always wants to test himself against the best. After sending out calls to the major Nekonian car makers, he found one conveniently planning to enter the NSFC. Put two and two together, and his appearence here was inevitable.

Azura was chosen by GSN as a secondary driver for Mastretta this season. A test driver since 2009, she seemed that she had a natural knack for getting the car around. Hours upon hours of tyre and engine sustainability tests has given Azura an iron will when it comes to staying power. She hasn't had much in the way of racing against opponents, so whether she can hold her own in a packed grid will remain to be seen. Nevertheless, the team have faith that she will do well, and maybe pull a few shocks this season...

Pre-GSN days, she was more suited to two wheels: as a teen she took up cross-country BMX, which led to motorbike trialling. Clearly, even at a young age, she was fully set in her tomboyish ways. Whilst her friends were out shopping and getting spa treatments, she spent most of her days face-down over an engine block, tinkering with it, not minding ending each day with an impromptu oil facial. Somehow, the transition from two wheels to four went smooth, and now she faces her first real racing season.

Wet Weather offers no worries for Altador

Alicia Altador proved why she is known as the "Wet Weather Warrior" in Greater Watford, with a ggreat qualifying performance to qualify 2nd, alongside Vassily Johanson on the front row of the grid. On a wet day here in Hodori, it was always going to be tough for the drivers. With only 14 drivers going into Q2, Ben Blue was one of those who dropped out of Q1, qualifying 17th, in the middle of the pack. However, Alicia was able to qualify 2nd in Q1, and replicated her 2nd place in Q2, to ensure she is on the front row of the grid tomorrow. Nobody is certain as to what the raceday conditions will be like, but a front row start is always a good start to the Grand Prix.

Our reporter, Chris Stevens, interviewed both drivers after the qualifying session.
C:So Alicia, how do you feel?
A:It's a great feeling, I felt as if I was able to push the car, and I found the grip on the track where others struggled. Going into the race in 2nd place on the grid is a huge bonus.
C:Ben, 17th. Good or bad?
B:Not ideal if I'm honest, I'd liked to have been in Q2. It's early days, and I may be able to move up in the race. I struggled for grip in these conditions, and may drivers seemed to find their cars lacked traction in the wet.
C: With the rain, do either of you feel that the grid is a true representation of the speed of the drivers?
A:I'd like to think so, but of course, some drivers do better in the wet, some better in the dry. Hopefully I will have dry pace to go with the pace I've shown today, but we can't be certain of anything just yet.
B:I personally felt that I had more to give, but the conditions were unforgiving, and I wasn't willing to take too many risks. Consistency will be the key this year in doing well.
C:Is the car up to scratch?
A: I find that the power and ultimate speed isn't as high as the others, but we do believe that some other teams aren't as reliable as us. If we finish well and often, then we'll be in a good situation.
B: Power and grip isn't as high as the others, we're quite weak in those areas. We have reliability however, and this season could be a "hare vs tortoise" season. It's also pleasing to have a fully backed works team, who we can work closely with and aid in the development of the car over the season.

Storm-darkened skies and a rain-soaked track greeted the drivers in the opening International Super Formula Championship qualify at Dashoze this afternoon. Vassily Johanson (AUD, No.40) set the best time of the 45-minute Qualify 1 session with a time of 1:44.539. The second-best time, 1:45.168, was set by Alicia Altador (GWA, No.23). Of the 16 teams participating in Q1, only Johanson Motorsports, Vilita & Turori Motorsports, and MTS Systems would see both drivers finish the session in the top 14.

Outside the Q1 threshold, Levi Eisenstadt (ASH, No.44) and Kuetasa Yakusamo (HDR, No.93) set the same best laps of 1:47.293, but as Eisenstadt had set the time in fewer attempts, Yakusamo would start 16th.

Qualify 2
With wet conditions persisting into the second qualify, Johanson matched his Q1 time, maintaining pole at the end of the 30-minute session. The top four maintained position, with Altador improving by 0.1 seconds (1:45.168 -> 1:45.062), iBen Toralmintii (TUR, No.77) also matching Q1 time (1:45.557), and Xanaes Eng'nala (AMV, No.54) performing slightly worse (1:45.643 -> 1:45.855). Emile Quinn (TIS, No.36) would take 5th in Q2 after scoring 8th in Q1 (1:46.716 -> 1:46.502). Robert Dominichi (NSH, No.12), starting sixth, was the third driver to match Q1 pace (1:46.525).

With wet conditions predicted for tommorow's race, spray will make it difficult for drivers to see as the NSFC opens at the figure-of-eight Dashoze circuit.

Reigning Domestic Champion qualifies last for Round One of NSFC

The reigning domestic champion of Darmen, Joshua Parks, finished dead last in the Q1 period of qualifying for the first round of the first year of the International Super Formula Championship, which is being hosted in Dashoze, Hodori. Parks' teammate, Billy Newman, did slightly better in the rainy conditions, qualifying in 27th. Both drivers cited the rain as the major obstacle to setting faster times.

While a Top 10 finish is unlikely for either driver, both are committed to putting in a quality effort during the race. "We're going to have to learn from this race and move on from it, hopefully we'll be able to get faster as the season goes along," said Parks. The team's director and other officials refused to comment, having come into the season as one of the favorites to do well following Ilgana's previous experience in the Hodori's domestic series.

Darastrix Seh'arii became the newest Vegai group to try its hand in the realms of international racing, and yet what makes this group feel different is that racing is their sole purpose. No Bubble Gum (except as a sponsor), No interspace technologies, and no government backed ploy a whichever game comes to mind. Nope, this collection of racing fans and financial backers have made it clear that they only care about putting forth a quality product on the racing scene.

Unlike their previous attempts to jumpstart a Vegai racing fan base, Yumbo Jumbo, The World’s Most Outrageous Gum, is not spearheading the effort. Rather they have entered into the venture as a minority owner and have vowed to keep the coffers open while leaving the running of the group to those who actually know how to do such things. And yet it is their presence that has proved to be a blessing as TemeP-VOC, a Stonengarten based engine development company and ValigNat, a Kahazad tire manufacturer have teamed up with Darastrix and the NSFC to provide the changeable components of the cars. The Kepesk333-S has shown to provide a nice blend of power and durability while the CHildrag tires offer a similar balance of grip and wear. It is far too early to know how they stack up against more seasoned providers but hopes a very high at this point.

Once again the scene was set for a Vegai team to compete in a major international event with just one major issue – no major domestic series means no major domestic tried and tested talent. So once again the powers that be took to the streets in order to enlist a pair of street racers from a large talent pool of young law-breaking daredevils. Carrington would be where they found their first driver, the top-ranked street racer in the Draggoni Socialist Empire, also ranked as high as third in all of AO by many of his peers. 24 year old Xanaes Eng’nala. I was a hard sell to entice the young driver away from the scene he had dominated for so long, yet in the end it was the chance to prove his driving skill against the likes of Billy Newman, Kuetasa Yakusamo, Juracai Klianiota , among others that made his decision for him. When asked about a second possible driver, Xanaes only had one name to offer.

South Beach. Kelsey. Home to great surfing, SBU, tropical weather and a nineteen year old street racer named Zonika Ina'radu. A young talent, Zonika had already risen into the top twenty-five racers in the DSE by the age of eighteen. Her technical ability behind the wheel combined with her fearlessness of what might happen, made her a dangerous competitor most others simply chose to avoid. Yet for all the lack of experience she had pawned everyone, Xanaes included, at the Vegai Street Elite bracket competition in Sa Aln just two weeks prior. Hers was an easy sell as she would now be guaranteed a chance to race without her competitors simply blackballing her. And with that, the team was set.

First up was a trip to the racing Mecca that was Hodori to see just what they could do on the legendary Dashoze Circuit. The pair was met with mixed results as Xanaes proved to be everything that had been advertised. Zonika showed her youth as she struggled with wet conditions and the style of racing that comes with having open wheels. Xadaes would find himself qualified fourth as the top racers maintained a very consistent set of times. Zonika would miss the second qualifier by 68 hundredths of a second and start back in the twenty-first position.

Little would change on race day as each driver inly picked up one position en route to the finish. Xanaes would benefit most as he moved into third while Altador of Greater Watford suffered through the day dropping from second to 18th. With a somewhat drier track for the race itself, the times came down by nearly five seconds per. #36 Quinn, the Syndication half of the MTS Systems team would set the lap record for the course at 1:40.036, which actually did little good as Quinn would fall two places to finish Seventh.

Next up is the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course which is quite nearly in our own back yard. With the conditions being much drier here, we will begin to see just where we fit in with this group of international competitors.

GW Motors came away pointless from a weekend that promised much, but delivered little. The rain continued on race day, giving ALicia Altador hope of a good finish. Despite the poor weather, all drivers got through Lap 1 successfully. However, on the next Lap, Altador went for a pass at the hairpin by the crossover. Contact was made with Johansson, causing some suspension damage to the GW Motors car of Altador. While this wasn't terminal, it affected the perfromance of the car, and Altador began to drop back. When the rain stopped, neither GW Motors driver could find anything to improve thier position, with Altador dropping back further. Ben Blue had a quiet race, gaining 4 positons, but still only coming 13th.

Neither driver was available for an interview after the race, although team manager John Gordon said that neither dirver was particularly pleased with their performance, and both are looking to improve in the Super Formula Round Vilita

Grande Scuderia Nekoni in Promising First Round at Hodori

GSN have come away from their maiden race at Dashoze Circuit in the points, with Alex Mastretta finishing Top 5. Starting the race in the wet, and from 13th, he hardly could believe his luck when on lap 19, the track dried up just as he pulled out of the pits in dry tires. A gamble by the pit staff that paid dividends when he spent the next few laps surging through the pack, hitting seventh at the hour mark. Meanwhile, GSN's second driver, d'Agostino, did well to score in the points. She played her cards very close to her chest before the race, qualifying in a modest 24th, she took down each driver in front of her with near-surgical precision. At lap 35, thanks to some luck of the draw with pitting, she reached the podium. But it wasn't exactly to be.

Upon the second pit, the crew made a critical error when the car was nearly released without being refueled. An error that haunted her for the last section of the race, as she came out of the pits in 7th, and her anger made her driving style erratic. Two places were lost by the time she got over the line. Mastretta ended with better form, gaining 5th on the last lap's crossover.

d'Agostino wasn't available for comment, but Mastretta rather uncharacteristically left some comments in an interview, stating "d'Agostino is a great driver. It's just a shame that the pit crew's heads weren't screwed on today, we could have got a win here."

Pole to Goal Victory in Opening Round
Super Formula Hodori Race Result

Super Formula Round Hodori, the opening round of the International Super Formula Championship, took place at the figure-of eight Dashoze circuit in the Dekijika district of the Ondori minor archipelago. Even with conditions turning from wet to dry, pole starter Vassily Johanson (No.40) consistently maintained the front position.

Clean Start in the Rain
With the scheduled 15:00 start time approaching, rain showers soaked the track. As the cars began their formation lap, the rain started to ease. After one parade lap, the 250km race started at 15:03.

Despite the wet starting conditions, the opening laps were free of major incidents. Slight contact between the No.23 of Alicia Altador and Johanson at the hairpin in lap two was the only notable incident before the halfway mark.

The first round of compulsory pit stops began on lap 13. By this point, rain had stopped falling and the skies were clearing, leading to many teams switching to dry tyres. The No.93 of Kuetasa Yakusamo was the first of the KizaCera pair to pit, followed by Kubariko Zakemi in the No.94 on the next lap. As the first pit cycle ended on Lap 19, Johanson once again held the top position on a drying track.

Retirements Begin After Halfway Mark
The first retirement was the No.47 of Abraham Barron on lap 27. Juracai Klianiota (No.7) and Levi Eisenstadt (No.44) both failed to finish after completing 29 and 30 laps respectively.

The second of two mandatory pit windows opened on lap 29. By this point, the track had completely dried and drivers were pushing themselves and their machines to their limits, with the best lap before final pit stops of 1:41.093 set by Emile Quinn (No.36). Yakusamo and Zakemi were again scheduled to pit on consecutive laps, with Yakusamo entering for service on lap 32 and Zakemi receiving fuel and fresh tyres on lap 33. A mistake in the GSN pit box, where Azura d'Agnostino (No.92) was delayed to refuel, caused the second GSN driver to end the pit cycle in 7th.

Near the end of the second pit window, Steven Mainsail (No.63) and Bryant Gambal (No.98) were involved in an incident on lap 34, sending both cars off at the Infini chicane and forcing an early end to their weekends. As no hazard was presented by the debris generated and both cars were stopped in the runoff area, the Infini chicane was placed under local yellow as safety officials cleared the racing surface.

Rudolf Ibuna (No.99), after completing 37 of the minimum 39 laps, would be the final driver to retire with a DNF. Robert Ultern (No.42) would be the last retirement after completing 40 laps out of the scheduled 48.

Dry Circuit Invites Intense Action
In the final laps, drivers became more aggresive in their fight for the top positions, trimming further fractions of seconds from their lap times and setting their best times of the round. Although the top three were untouchable, with Johanson unquestionably the race leader, iBen Toralmintii (No.77) trailing in second, and Xanaes Eng'nala (No.54) safely in the final podium position, heated fights for the next four positions filled the closing laps.

Quinn and Zakemi were locked in an intense battle for the fifth spot as the laps wound down. In the final lap, Alex Mastretta (No.91) took advantage of the situation and claimed the fifth spot in the Hairpin. Mastretta immediately began to hunt down Robert Dominichi (No.12), closing to just over six tenths of a second behind the Nassau Hessen Racing Team driver as they crossed the finish line.

The fierce battle between the KizaCera machine of Zakemi and the MTS car of Quinn saw both drivers running side-by-side for the rest of the final lap. Both drivers would exchange positions and make contact through the Spoon curve and Bus Stop chicane, causing them to slip further behind Mastretta. As the two left the Infini chicane, a chasm of 1.7 seconds had opened between 5th and 6th. Running side-by-side through the final hundreds of meters, Zakemi would take sixth with a margin of 0.156 seconds over Quinn.

Altador, the final driver to finish on the lead lap, had suffered from a loss of pace after setting her best lap, with the stresses causing minor suspension damage from the lap two incident to worsen.

With both cars finishing at opposite ends of the top ten, Johanson Motorsports claimed an early lead in the Team Standings with 21 points. Vilita & Turori Motorsports, racing at home in the next round, is ranked second with Toralmintii's podium finish. Vegai team Darastrix Seh'arii will enter the first of two Atlantian Oceanian rounds in third. Grande Scuderia Nekoni, with a 5th and 8th finish, is fourth with nine points. NHRT, with Dominichi's finish, leaves Hodori with eight points. KizaCera SF Dekijika and MTS Systems are currently ranked as their best drivers finished. Archer Motorsport Super Formula is the last team to exit the first round with points after Lauren Ashburton (No.97) finished ninth.

Hodori GT-A to Donate to Charities
Following a global pandemic breaking out after the first round, the Hodori GT-A will begin donating a portion of event proceeds to nations and regions devastated by the plague.

Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course :: After a poor showing in the opening round of the NSFC Super Formula Round Hodori Race, Vilitan driver Juricai Klianiota knew if he was going to be a challenger for the series title, he was going to have to put in a strong performance right away in the next race.

Luckily, perhaps, the second round of the NSFC was taking place at Klianiota's home track - the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course.

As the NSFC descended on Vilita, however, all eyes were on iBen Toralmintii. The Turorian driver finished in the runner up position during the Opening Round behind Audioslavias Vassily Johanson. While there is a major international motorsports venue in the Island Emirate of Turori - in Eelandii - Toralmintii still considered the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course home.

However, from the moment the cars hit the track for qualifying, it was clear that Super Formula Round Vilita would be a very different event than the opening round.

The top finishers from Hodori, Johanson and Toralmintii - wouldn't even advance to the 2nd Round of Qualifying, posting times outside the top 20.

On the other end of the scoreboard, Abraham Barron and Klianiota - the first two drivers to retire from Hodori - topped the board with Steven Mainsail, another driver that failed to finish the Super Formula Round Hodori close behind.

The Weather was perfect for the fans in Vilita, a great advertisement for Vilitan Tourism and a great chance for drivers looking for slick, speedy track to lay down a fast lap. With the sun beating down on the track, however, the speeds in the second qualifying session slowed with the top 3 remaining unchanged.

Klianiota was sitting in a great position to put forward his title challenging credentials if he could record a victory in front of the home-town crowd.

On the other end, both iBen Toralmintii and Vilitan driver Lake Suzgar, entered under the Tornetti Motorsports banner, would have a lot of work to do to find themselves in the points.

Suzgar, who was the first driver not to score points in Hodori, won't have much to see in the rear view at race start. Only 3 drivers posted a slower qualifying time then the Tornetti driver who will start one position behind Audioslavia's Johanson.

iBen Toralmintii, meanwhile, posted the 24th quickest time and will have to pass a lot of cars throughout the day in order to keep pace in the title chase.

Monghit Motorsport is looking good to bounce back after both of their drivers suffered retirements in the opening round of the International Super Formula Championship in Dashoze Circuit in Hodori. At the second round in the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course, both drivers progressed to Q2, in which Gambal placed 11th and Ibuna 13th. They will both look to score Monghit's first points in the NFSC, after not scoring any in their Formula Hodori campaign last season.

The cars were given factory support from Anutin Tabu for this campaign and the next season. It will also gain factory support in the next season of the Formula Hodori after Motorsport Sangti lost BancaRote and Iscrachi sponsorships, which caused the team to cease their Formula Hodori operation and sell their Hodori GT operation to Elias Tenefrancia, a known cycling team owner. Motorsport Sangti will continue their Hodori Rally operations with more focus and a shot at the championship. Samson Monghit's FH operation will be boosted when they acquire Ramil Raganit from the defunct MS to partner Ralocse Omisicilef for Season 170, and some NSFC sponsorships which were willing to extend to the FH operation.

The team will hope to score its maiden points in the early running, with seven events left in the calendar.

"I was not happy when I collided with Steven Mainsail at the Infini chicane. I was clearly in front when he tried to overtake me. I closed the door in a move to keep my place, but he banged in my right sidepod and hit my rear wheel, breaking the rear suspension.

But that was last round. We managed to squeak into Q2 after failing to get to it last qualifying. I will try to get into the points this time and show my senior teammate what I can do at the track."

RUDOLF IBUNA, DRIVER, MONGHIT-ANUTIN TABU (MONGHIT MOTORSPORT)
"I was disappointed with the way my race ended. I lost control before the Infini Chicane and spun out. I could have continued my race, but the degree of damage the spin done was enormous. I just cannot seem to go to third gear and then the engine blew up because I failed to step to fourth gear. I was able to come into the pits, but my race was over then.

Thirteenth is not a bad starting position for me here in Vilita. After all, it is a challenge to get the cornering speeds right in this challenge of a track. Hopefully I would not retire this time around and gain some places to score solid points for this team. I cannot wait for Round 4 though."

Front to back
It was a poor day for the GW Motors team in Vilita. Ben Blue was fortunate enough to scrape through into Q2, and then had a rather more literal scrape through, when his front nosecone failed on his final hot lap, causing it to scrape along the tarmac, until he returned to the pits. However, Alicia Altador qualified 31st, with a lack of grip on several corners. Unhappy with the car, she was seen leaving the track not long after qualifying, and failed to give any interviews. GWMN was fortunate enough to talk to Ben Blue though.
C: 14th. Good or bad?
B: Reasonably good. We don't have the best car in the dry, and I was pleased to get into Q2. I don't know whether I could've gone faster without the technical issues in Q2, but at least I'm near the front of the grid.
C: What happened with the nosecone?
B: I'm really not too sure to be honest. Out of Turn 4, I felt the front of the car go light, and saw a shower of sparks. I recieved a radio message about a front nose failure, and had to nurse the car back to the pits.
C: Any damage to the car?
B: Not to the chassis, no, however the front nose assembly was written off, and we've had to bring in the replacement. It's not ideal, but we can deal with it.
C: Any points tomorrow?
B: We'll have to see.
