DAY ONE (close of play: Folenisa Combined 205, Raithwick Park 54/2)
Raithwick Park, having won the league, were granted home advantage for the Championship final against second placed Folenisa Combined. Captain Max Finney won the toss and in late-season cloudy conditions elected to bowl first.

In seaming conditions, Raithwick Park's attack tore apart the Folenisa batting as the visitors limped to lunch four down for 93. It took less than 10 overs for Raithwick Park to make the breakthrough, with Jonathan Adams bowling Fred Key for 15 (28b, 1x4, 23/1) to bring captain Garland Goudreau to the crease.

With change bowler Ollie Adams on to replace Leo Cartwright, Key's fellow opener Neil Walker perished leg before for 15 (46b, 1x4, 52/2) and his replacement Simon Sheikh added only five (17b, 1x4, 61/3) before he was caught behind off Raithwick Park's off-spinner Daniel Quinn.

All-rounder Mark Turner fell to the same fate eight overs later having scored six (18b, 87/4), with Goudreau at the other end slowly adding to his score. He put on a 50 stand for the fifth wicket with David Ryan in 85 balls after lunch and finally reached his 50 (76b, 6x4).

Ryan fell to Adams for 21 when he was caught by Aeri (59b, 1x4, 143/5) and Folenisa's hopes took a turn for the worse when in Adams' next over he pinned Goudreau on the front foot for a hard-fought 78 (115b, 7x4, 146/6).

Paul Onions (35* 72b, 1x4) and Joe Sanderson added 34 before the latter was adjudged lbw to Quinn in the 60th over for 11 (41b, 180/7) right before tea.

After the restart, Huw Logan could only add six (21b, 196/8) before he was bowled by Adams and Duncan Swallow fell for a golden duck lbw to Adams. Onions and last man Stuart Curnow (3 17b) before Curnow was beaten by a turning one from Quinn and the visitors were all out for 205 in 72.3 overs.

Folenisa Combined 1st inns batting: Walker 15 (lbw b Kerr), Key 15 (b Adams), Goudreau 78 (lbw b Adams), Sheikh 5 (c Finney b Quinn), Turner 6 (c Finney b Quinn), Ryan 21 (c Aeri b Adams), Onions 35*, Sanderson 11 (lbw b Quinn), Logan 6 (b Adams), Swallow 0 (lbw b Adams), Curnow 3 (b Quinn), extras 10
Raithwick Park 1st inns bowling: Cartwright 21-4-58-0, Adams 21-2-47-5, Quinn 19.3-3-62-4, Kerr 11-1-38-1
Fall of wicket (partnership): 1/23 (23), 2/52 (29), 3/61 (9), 4/87 (26), 5/143 (56), 6/146 (3), 7/180 (34), 8/196 (16), 9/196 (0), 10/205 (9)

This left enough time in the day for a minimum of 16 overs (light permitting), and Raithwick Park were sent out to bat. However, they found themselves in early strife when both openers Finney (4 7b 1x4, 7/1) and Chris Pettini (2 16b, 18/2) both fell to Ryan in the first seven overs.

Number three Cartwright and number four man Arthur Cunningham successfully saw Raithwick Park out to the close without further loss as the hosts closed day one on 54/2, trailing by 151.

Apox County Cricket Trophy

4 season of domestic cricket have now finished, and Apoxian cricket continues to grow, the season ending on the cusp of Apox organising the 4th GCF Test season. This season, County Eisc finally defy their critics, winning in dominant fashion by a record 42 points ahead of second placed Gwinshire, and a record total points of 122. Gwinshire, Mountainshire and The Broads all finished fairly close to each other in the remaining play-off positions, while last seasons winners, Dwile, did terribly, finishing 5th, not even good enough for a play-off spot. Olfa and Westshire, the two whipping boys of the league finished things off.

County PD W D L BP Points
County Eisc 12 7 5 0 37 122
Gwinshire 12 5 4 3 18 80
Moutainshire 12 4 5 3 22 78
The Broads 12 5 2 5 19 75

Dwile 12 3 3 6 15 54
Olfa 12 2 5 5 18 53
Westshire 12 2 4 6 16 48

Play-off Matches
County Eisc 138/7 (15.3 overs)
The Broads 135 (15.4 overs)

Gwinshire 161/7 (20 overs)
Mountainshire 163/6 (18.5 overs)

And so it is arguably the two best teams in the league who will go on to the Twenty20 Champions Cup.

You have to scorinate a domestic league in order to enter teams in the CLt20.
This is the IC re-incarnation of Cyborg Holland. Add 2971 posts and three RWC final losses.

Much as I hate to do this, the deadline for the CT20 is pushed back again. I want to keep it roughly in line with the other sports' major domestic international tournaments, therefore will be running it around the UICA calendar (roughly); the new deadline will be confirmed after the UICA deadline is.

Since the man says there's no problem on poping it up now... Well, sort of, two months is quite a while, no?

McStereotaipe EnterprisesTM Sunrise Cricket League

The league continue to consist of twelve sides.

AMY CITY PRIDE Wooden Spoon of the 1st Season
Colors: Blue and Yellow
Owner: Sunrisian Pride Supporters' Group, an addition made to the League mostly due to the desire of adding more attendance to the league. Offended by most of the teams, saying that if they needed a league, they should not have foreigns involved.
Stadium: Sonic Road (10,000)

BRENTWOOD BREWERS
Colors: Yellow and Brown
Owner: Andrew Lawrence-Barr, whose distillery business has been losing money since tighter alcohol sale restrictions came into force, so now he thinks running a sports team can't be worse.
Stadium: Western Lane (10,000)

BURY HEARTS
Colors: Red and White
Owner: James O' Alwinn, Midlothian Heart-born owner of a chain of hotels, who decided to rival the sorta-traditional Hearts of Londonpool, but could only find a way in cricket.
Stadium: Commoner Grounds (8,000)

BYRD ARMADA
Colors: Green, Gold and Black
Owner: Conrad James Lyle, who was born into wealth in the sleepy rural northern peninsula and has basically got bored not doing much with his money except supporting a few local sportspeople and having shares in suspicious companies somewhere in Rushmore producing RP-inin for the Kytlerian market.
Stadium: War Memorial at Byrd (9,000)

CALEDONIA ORCHESTRA
Colors: Black and White
Owner: Reginald Spektor, a record producer and former classical pianist until his right hand was broken in a car crash.
Stadium: Arts University of Caledonia (5,000)

DARVESTON MINERS
Colors: Blue and White
Owner: Bob Crowthorne, who runs a mining company and is very dull.
Stadium: Cricket Field at the Darveston Cricket Complex (15,000)

DOVER WARRIORS
Colors: Orange and Blue
Owner: The City Government of Dover, who accepted being the sole team of the league that is fully Sunrisian, just for the sake of being relevant.
Stadium: City of Dover Stadium (45,000)

LORELEI MAGICA Champions of the 1st Season
Colors: Yellow and Black
Owner: Zoe Foster, who owns a sports bra business, and has been rebuffed from buying several Kytlerian sports teams because they didn't trust a woman to own one.
Stadium: Cambrian University's Cricket Field (7,000)

MINK LEGION
Colors: Red, Black and White
Owner: The Coven State Teacher and Military Pension Fund, which are lots of investors just thinking that beating rich people at their own game would be the best thing they ever managed to do in their lives.
Stadium: Giselle Road (8,000)

PORTLAND ATLANTIC
Colors: Blue, Grey and Black
Owner: Pat Wilcox, who sold his share of a Santa Mordana shipping company to a Civil Citizenry conglomerate and doesn't know what to do with his money.
Stadium: Harbour Park (8,500)

ROYAL MARDI
Colors: Purple, Teal and Yellow
Owner: Thug Dredditars, who made his money running a sports equipment business that started with combat sport equipment and then turned to gridiron, rugby, and later cricket.
Stadium: Marendi Field (15,000)

SUNRICE SAINT-RAPTORS
Colors: Green, Dark Green and Red
Owner: The Apocalyptic Congregational Church of the Mighty Raptor Jesus, a foreign church that decided that Cricket would be a good way to mix in with the crowds.
Stadium: Carbocarbonica Arena (20,000)

She looked at the four files with different crests on top of each other, laughing maniacally.

"And I'm sure I'll surprise him a bit."

CBA announce radical overhaul of Liventian cricket
CITY CENTRE— Liventia is to gain 12 new first-class teams as part of an overhaul of domestic cricket, the country's Board of Authority announced today.

The 12 teams will represent cities and towns which do not already have a first-class club, and will be able to select players with a connection to their town or city.

These teams will take part in a four-day first-class double round robin tournament of 22 matches each, to be known as the National Cities Trophy. However, these city teams will not be able to select players contracted centrally to the CBA (unless previously contracted to the city) or players contracted to a full-time first-class team.

The current five first-class clubs, plus cricket's National Centre of Excellence, will remain in the separate five-day National Championship, which will continue to be the country's premier first-class tournament.

Additionally, the main List A and Twenty20 tournaments — the Liventia Airways Trophy and Super Slog League — will expand to ten teams, with four more regional clubs gaining full LA and T20 status from the CBA.

Talbott Downs CC, Neverend Lewes CC, Orean Broadham CC and City Centre's Woodlands Manor CC will join both senior national competitions, which will now be played with a single round robin group stage before a semifinal round in the SSL and before a final in the LAT.

The four clubs will also take part in a three-day non-first-class tournament*, with the winners earning the right to play a four-day first-class match against the National Cities Trophy winner.

*Think the Minor Counties Championship

Inaugural First-Class Challenge provides maiden triple centurion
OREAN— The inaugural First-Class Challenge, the new season-ending tournament introduced by Liventia's Cricket Board of Authority, has produced the country's first triple centurion.

The FCC is played between the champions of the four-day first-class National Cities Trophy and the non-first-class Three Day Competition and is held at the Park Central Oval in Orean, widely accepted to be the most batsman-friendly ground in the country.

The inaugural season was played between Talbott Downs, the strongest of the four new List A teams and the Three Day champions, and Port Cartfort, who won the Cities tournament by just five points from Leigham.

Talbott's captain Duncan Lewis, batting at four, was called on early as his side were quickly reduced to 17 for two inside the first seven overs.

But he batted for more than ten hours to reach an incredible personal milestone of 300 not out, becoming the first Liventian to score a first-class triple century — and that in his first match with first-class status.

His 460-ball stay included 20 fours and one six and helped Talbott to 548 for seven at the declaration.

The all-rounder then took four wickets for 74 as Port Cartfort were dismissed for a relatively paltry 263, and although Port Cartfort's follow-on innings reached 326 for four (Lewis 3/76), Talbott were declared champions on the first innings total.

Lewis was deservedly named man-of-the-match for his performance, and will no doubt have caught the eyes of the selectors after a season that included 530 runs at 88.33 from nine innings in the Liventia Airways Trophy (13 wickets at 27) and 379 runs at 94.75 from nine innings in the Super Slog League (12 wickets at 17).

Meanwhile, Max Finney and Dylan Hennessey became the first Liventians to record double centuries in List A matches after both achieved the feat (in different games) during the Liventia Airways Trophy season.

And in further developments for the national team, Cyclonesville coaches have successfully brought Michael Westley into their bowling attack, with the medium pacer taking 75 wickets across all three formats this year.

(This shouldn't be a gravedig, considering it's sports and isn't a dead and buried thingy)

WCB to launch new Franchise-Based T20 Tournament

After several years of discussion and debate in the corridors of power of the WCB, the Committee on Domestic Cricket (CDC) have given the go-ahead for plans for a franchise t20 competition to take over from the current Provincial T20 Competition (Called the BlueCell T20 Cup for sponsorship reasons).

The deal was riding on the belief that 8 sponsors for teams could be found, and after a 2-month selling period, all eight teams have substantial backing. In a change from the provincial format, 8 teams will be created, based in 4 cities across the country, with two Cartersburg franchises, two Nelson's Bay franchies & two Albion franchises. The other two hail from Gosforth and Crystal Springs, who continue to climb the ladder of cricketing relevance, the franchise looking to become a big money-maker, especially with seam bowler Jackson Storm drawn to play for the club.

The new format of the competition will see an intense, rapid-fire schedule, conducted in two months before the beginning of the Test season. The squads are drawn from an auction process, where they will sign 15 players, and to encourage cricketing diversity, the auctioned players will be split into three categories: Category A, which are national players allocated a franchise (Jason Keillher, Shane Aguando, Glenn Mitchell, Jackson Colt, Jackson Storm, Blake Matthews, Julian Stacey & Chris Laughlin), Category B, which are players who currently have professional contracts with a regional squad, and Category C, who are players with either incremental (one-format contracts) contracts with regions or play in lower tiers. Each squad must have a minimum of four Category C players. Each squad is also granted two overseas players, and two overseas players are allowed in any team on any given matchday. The format will be double round robin, and the top four will play two-semi finals, and the winners of these will contest the Grand Final, this year held at the Cartersburg Oval. The teams are as follows:

Champions' League Twenty20 III

Postby Damukuni » Mon Apr 18, 2016 11:41 am

Image

With the blessing of many among the cricketing nations, the new Board of Control for Cricket in Damukuni is pleased to announce the return of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament for domestic Twenty20 competition champions!

TEAM SUBMISSION RULES
This tournament's team submission rules will adhere to the original guidelines set forth by Apox in the original post:
Each country is allowed to submit two teams to the Champions Twenty20 tournament, for which only qualifiers from T20 leagues, or a T20 play-off from a league with another format, will be accepted.

Please post either your final match table (with playoff, if you have one) or link to your domestic league results thread; otherwise, your submission may not be counted!

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
This is a proposed format; please discuss in the Cricket Discussion Thread.
  • If seven (7) teams or less are entered into the tournament, a single round-robin will ensue, with the top four (4) teams advancing to the playoff.
  • If eight (8) or more teams are entered, the tournament will be split into equal groups, one consisting of the domestic tournament champions and the other the runners-up. The top two (2) teams from each group will then advance.
  • After the group stage(s), a playoff will ensue.
  • If seven (7) teams or less were originally entered, the first-place and fourth-place teams will play for a chance at the final while the second- and third-place teams do the same. The winners will play each other in the final, with the winner of that match declared champion. There is no third-place match.
  • If eight (8) or more teams were originally entered, the winner of the champions' group will play the runner-up of the non-champions' group, and the winner of the non-champions' group will play the runner-up of the champions' group. The winners of these matches will proceed to the final, with the winner of that match declared champion. There is no third-place match.
FINAL SITE BIDS
Final site bids will be considered for the Champions' League Twenty20. A well-thought bid should include the name of the stadium, its location, seating capacity, and (optionally) a picture and a short description. The most qualitative of the final site bids will be selected for use in each tournament, which will be announced at the submission cut-off. If no bids are entered, the default site for the Champions' Twenty20 final for at least the third edition will be the Atarashii-Damushuto International Stadium in Atarashii-Damushuto, Federal District, Damukuni.

PREVIOUS EDITIONS
For the intents and purposes of continuity, this edition of the Champions' League Twenty20 tournament shall be the third edition.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
The tentative submission deadline for teams and final site bids to this event will be 03:59 UTC (3:59 AM) on Thursday, 3 May 2016. Thursday, 5 May 2016.
EDIT: I will confirm the deadline 72 hours prior to the deadline itself.
EDIT 2: I didn't actually confirm the deadline... welp!

Liventia's Cricketing Board of Authority has declined the chance to send the winners of the Super Slog League (professional T20) to the Champions League. However, the CBA has approved the national cricket league finals – the highest tier of amateur and semi-professional club cricket with a limit of two full professionals per match – as a qualifying tournament for the Champions League.

The national cricket league finals, known by its sponsored name the Carvenlo National Cup, is a Twenty20 knockout tournament for the top eight sides who have qualified from each of the CBA's four developmental regions. The nine professional clubs – Raithwick Park, Central Orean, Folenisa Combined, Dover, Cyclonesville, Talbott Downs, Orean Broadham, Neverend Lewes and Woodlands Manor – are allowed to take part in the various regional competitions at second-XI level (with a limit of two professionals), and those who qualify for the finals are allowed to take part with a limit of only one paid professional from their first-class sides. The Carvenlo National Cup is not drawn regionally, and is a random draw.

The finals take place across the country up to the semifinal stage, with the semifinals and final being played on the same day at the NCE Oval in City Centre. Should the second teams of professional first-class clubs qualify for the final and thus the Champions League T20, the professional first teams will be barred from taking part in the Champions League, and the seconds may not choose select a first-team professional for the CL without prior clearance from the CBA.
