Vilitan Cricket Season 5

It was an all-day watch party of the 10th Champions League Twenty20 Final which was being broadcast from the Atarashii Damushuto International Stadium in Damukuni. Incredibly Two clubs from Vilita were contesting the championship match. And this wasn't just the championship of Vilitan Cricket - but all Cricket. Vilitan Grand Prix driver Jama'obo Pegasii informed his friend he wasn't even certain he could name all the teams of the Vilitan Cricket Championship but quickly took a liking to the Jlinal Jolly Birds who came into the match as slight favorites after defeating Romanopolis of Darmen in the Semi Finals.

The nearby town of Jlinal was just south of the former colonial capital of Vilita, Lopinka, in the Southeastern most portion of the Vilitan Mainland. It is one of the closest decently sized cities to Rockii Coast, home of the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course but in sports the city of Jlinal has never had much to be proud of. Their biggest sports franchise, Jlinal Cove FC of the Vilitan League system, is the all time winningest club in the Declasse Division of Vilitan Footsport but has never won any silverware at the top level.

Having been on the road traveling in search of the next great racing opportunity for Years, Pegasii had not been keeping up with activities back in Jlinal but learned that the Jlinal Jolly Birds were established during the second season of the Vilitan Cricket Championship and the city instantly took an interest in the team. Behind great attendance and support, the Jolly Birds would win the 3rd Season of the Vilitan Cricket Championship and qualify for the Twenty20 Champions League but were eliminated in the Round of 16 by Casterwill. The following season, while they didnt win the Vilitan Cricket Championship, they qualified to return to the Twenty20 Champions League and made it all the way through to the final where they would play the Yeaddin Bears. Pegasii learned that it was the first time any Vilitan Cricket Club had made it to the final of the Champions League Twenty20 and now at least one of them was guaranteed to win it.

His friend gave him a Jolly Birds hat and they all enjoyed a good time as the Jolly Birds hit for 140. It was a serviceable number of runs but there was no confidence within the residence that it would be enough for a title. Ultimately they were right. Things tensed up as the Bears hit 138 knowing that the next swing of the bat could end it. Finally, with five balls remaining, it was over. Yeaddin had hit for 141 and they were celebrating on the field as the Jolly Birds sulked away in defeat.

Procedural Notes:
  • The Vilitan Cricket Championship is understood to be a multiassociational league with the nations of Vilita and Turori. As such, their entry of three standard submissions (not counting the previous champions, Tivali Jungle Warriors) for Vilita and one for Turori were accepted.
FORMAT
Champions' and non-champions' teams will be placed into pots consistent with their nations' performance ranking from the previous tournament. As the previous CLT20 champion, Yeaddin Bears (VIL) will be drawn into the first group (thus causing one group to have an uneven number of teams). Four pots will be created, from whence the remaining teams shall be drawn, such that teams from the same nation will not meet in the same group. The top two (2) teams from the group stage will advance into a knockout stage. * indicates an unranked country.

  • The 8 CLT20 teams will play 2 preliminary rounds to determine the 2 best teams to join the Youth Champions, after which, a single elimination knockout will commence from the quarterfinals onwards.
  • The Youth Champions will receive byes for the two preliminary matchdays.

The second season of the Supreme Kriegiersien Cricket League saw a triumph of the presidents pet club by points. A lot of Orcish players on the reserve team, the Timesteam was able to finish as champion in front of the all female squad of the The Fussiliers. The last time champion ended with a lot of young, brutish gentlemen in last place.
