I'm running my ageing process, and by association league seasons, based on RL calendar months. Now I know running 1:1 NS year to RL month is preposterously quick and far too much work which I often regret, but so far in the year and a bit since I've been back it has neatly aged my players 4 years per WC. I think most prefer to aim for 2 years given the choice and therefore 1:2 NS year to RL month. My point being perhaps we peg the NS calendar to RL in some way - and the easiest one to regularise 'on the clock' would be the WC itself, which is presently hitting a 4-month cycle quite neatly. As a large portion of the NS Sport community are involved and there is a solid structure with committee, President and VP it wouldn't take much to ensure it runs on a set time frame by managing the sign-up, host voting and tournament starts. You could almost diary the next year, two, five, ten years of WC schedules. Then you have a good 'football clock' ticking in the background from which to look at how UICA and/or other club tournaments work, not dependent on any one person to regularise.

If there is a community desire for 2:1 ratio for club tournaments to WC cycles, then the simple answer would be Vilita's 'in-between' NS CL, which would be relatively easy to schedule if you had the WC football clock nicely oiled and keeping good time. If it is uncoupled from UICA then league RPers who are struggling for time could skip it without impacting their UICA rank.

If the community would rather it was UICA but more regularly, that is an open conversation to be had with CH about how others might help. With five tournaments in all if you throw in the Cygnus Cup for good measure, there could potentially be a group of five who manage scorination, if CH is prepared to hand over UICA to committee. That is a big question we perhaps need to ask CH; can the NS community take on the management - or at least a share in - what is an institution now and an important facet of football RP here, but one that is slowing down considerably and perhaps needs a bit of oxygen? The WC model works in timely order as a committee-driven initiative, perhaps UICA could become a shared load as well.

I think people have enjoyed the extended break and taken advantage of long gaps to live a little in RL, but the fact this conversation has come up and there have been a number of contributors means regularisation is something we might want to work toward. Whether changing UICA is possible or desirable, or whether an interval NS-CL is the solution, personally I'm in favour of exploring options.

Valanora wrote:There has been some discussion about running a regional CL cycle right now as a stopgap until a more permanent solution is in place or CH does make their intentions known. If this does go through, I am also hoping that the Cygnus Cup will be played as well. This is by no means a permanent solution but it would provide at least a temporary measure until the air of uncertainty is cleared. This is ultimately up to the community if it is something that they would be willing to entertain or not, as it really it just a proposal to accommodate those with the keen interest in the domestic cycle, as I do have conditional support from Damukuni on running the CEdC if this is what we decide to do for -right now-

Regarding this, whilst I appreciate all the effort CH has put on UICA and have no problem in waiting for him for as long as necessary, I wouldn't be against a temporary measure such as a cycle with regional competitions only. That said, I'd assume they would be run with an expanded field of entrants in order to try and keep the current conditions on entry quotas for UICA (i.e. top associations being able to enter more teams) as unchanged as possible. If this idea is eventually welcomed by the community and comes into fruition, the Cygnus Cup will also be run along with them.

I don't know if anyone is supposed to do an official announcement or something, but since nobody has yet... I might as well state that the 19th transfer window is up. The deals don't start until the UICA deadline, but you can already list your players and list/sign free agents. There's a new tab for listing managers, too.

So work has had me too tied up as of late if my World Cup and Independent cup appearances don't already show that. To anyone with players in my league, things should get better by next UICA tournament. Rp wise I will come up with a situation (probably strike or lockout). I will be contacting people with big time players in my league about this via tg, most likely on my next day off. Once again sorry

NOW HIRING...

Two sides. Two families. One city. One couple. One dream. More nations. Many clubs. Many lives. A single drama series that I'm writing over the next cycle.

Without giving away the entire plot, I'm going to be working on a series on my domestic thread and potentially in the DBC or a few other competitions, about two clans of athletes and celebrities. Each clan has their own part of the city, and their own story. The Family, or Familia, is in the heart of Lindon. The West Mob is on the west side of the city, in the suburban hills. Lindon, of course, is the largest city in the Gallian Union, and a city that will soon emerge on the overall Rushmori scene as a major hub. Lindon is also the Union's entertainment capital, meaning that the athletes that live there are celebrities just as much as the actors and musicians.

And so, our story begins with puppetmaster agent James Almeda bringing together a number of the younger footballers on his client list and forming the Family, in central Lindon. Founded on the back of one local star who already knows the social game, their fame burns brightly early on and they realize that they may have sparked a revolution. But everything isn't going to stay simple and easy forever, and when rivalry flares up with the others from the west side of town, it might just cause them to split before they get off of the ground. This is the story of a family, and their view from the top.

TL;DR: Basically, I'm writing a series about a group of young(ish) footballers and celebrities living in Lindon. There's room for yours, too.

Let's say that I want to add some international flavor to this. I'm looking for a few players to become members of the cast of this story, and most likely they'll live in Lindon with the other Family members. That doesn't necessarily mean they play there, though. It would be nice to have at least one player jump to one of the three Lindon clubs for the sake of moving in with the Family, though. I'll be in contact with a few parties about that. If you're interested in being in the story, you don't necessarily have to send a footballer, either... There's other athletes, and there's entourage members that don't play sports, also, while more of the parts are about footballers.

I don't have a specific form to TG me if you want to have someone involved, but there's a bit of info you have to give me. Namely, all of the basic info. The character's name, age, career history, and anything I'd need to know while writing them. Give me a detailed personality description, too. Otherwise, I'm inevitably not going to get them right when writing their actions. If you're familiar with MBTI types, you can give me that and it works. If you send someone, you also have to realize that I'm going to be writing their dialogue and actions for you, but I will try to portray them as accurately as I can based on what you've told me. And nothing too crazy is happening in this series. For now, my mafia and war storylines are constrained to the World Bowl. I won't kill them off or give them career altering injuries unless that's what you ask for, obviously.

So, with the new UICA cycle beginning, I hope you all will like this new series to go along with it! I expect to have part one up soon, If you are interested in having someone involved, send me a TG or hit me up on IRC. I might even have a couple antagonist spots open right now, that won't be like that for long...

Longtime Assistant Manager Didier Jacques has left the Chromatik National Team staff to head the U21 team. The CFF is looking for an Assistant Manager. With Silian Parker being more of a ditector and a master strategist, the ideal Assistant would be someone who can relate to players on a personal level and be the in-between among the players and the eccentric Parker. Prior NT experience is preferred but not necessary.

Please TG me your candidates.

Aaaand it's clanked shut. TG or, preferably, IRC me if you missed the tail end of the window and want to confirm an existing bid, but new bids and sales - at least within the document - are closed for the time being. Free transfers are still available, as is customary, and I've left Loans open as well.

THE CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE

The Centre for Excellence returns once more, and this time there has been expansion of the Program, with an opening in the town of Tolling, Bonesea, which will be participating in the Juvenligg within the Bonesea league system. The Apoxian version will continue to participate in the ANL Regional Leagues, as a feeder club to FC Endeavour.

A note on the ageing process for those players based in Bonesea. Bonesea runs their leagues going off one league season/year per RL month. As a result, this runs somewhat faster than the majority of other leagues in NS. This is solved using the excuse of the Whelm Fluid Time plant leaking and making Boneyfolk age faster than people from other nations. However, many will not want to have their players age at a much faster rate than their league/NT, so on leaving Bonesea, there is a pill which can be taken to reverse the effects of the ageing. This is why in the Bonesea roster, there are two ages, one for the players age in the wider multiverse and one for the players age in Bonesea. If you sign a player from Bonesea, then you will have the option to have their age be the Bonesea age or the multiverse age.

As usual, any Apoxian/Mareibatian players can be transferred elsewhere, just TG me or find me on IRC if interested. For other nations players, you'll need to sort that out with the nation in question, but if any transfers are made, TG me and I will update the roster. Additionally, if you have any players you'd like to send to the Centre for Excellence, TG me or hit me up on IRC (I tend to only be sporadically on IRC these days) and I can add them to the rosters. Also not ruling out the possibility of further expansion in future seasons!

Hey guys, since I'm finally making my return to activity on NS Sports, I'm looking to resurrect my domestic leagues and update my national team rosters. Unfortunately, my own records were largely lost when my hard drive crashed, so if any of you guys have (or have had) players from the Equestrian States or Crystal Empire at any of your clubs, shoot me a TG with the player(s) and their current club.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Edit: This would also extend to any of your players that you had playing in my leagues. If you have any information on them, it'd be appreciated.

If you have any players looking for an opportunity to be a big fish in a small pond, the Liberastato Granda Ligo will be commencing its first season shortly. The level of play for the local players is quite poor, so it will not be hard for foreign players to dominate the league and receive acclaim, popularity and sponsorship opportunities that they perhaps would not be able to receive at home. The national federation has put together a 15 year plan to make the Granda Ligo among the world's major leagues, and although what few outsiders have been made aware of this plan have laughed at it and called it unlikely, some timely and large investments could make it happen. TG me if you'd like to get involved!

(OOC: New nation from the user behind Cotdelapoms ages and ages ago. I think this nation will solely be used for a football league, which was always my favourite part of NS. TG me if you want to help! One thing I'd really love would be for an established nation to send a highly regarded but clearly past their prime player who could become a role model figure for local footballers.)

With the UICA deadline set, it's that time again. The 20th Transfer Window is here in a preliminary state. Usual rules apply - no bids or transfers yet, but if you've got your league handed in with a bit of time to spare, here is where you can put your guys in early and peruse others.

On that note, it would be appreciated if people are only put on the list if they have some sort of description or some other sign that they matter in some way, or are someone who should be cared about. Not necessarily to say they have to be good - weak players play an important part in the ecosystem too. And even if it's just a short blurb on a regen you're throwing out into the ether. Not necessarily now - I mean, there are like 200 guys up there blank right now, but I'm going to work on them after I finish submitting the A-League - but I think there's a general community feeling that now that there's the quantity of 700-800ish guys in the shop window every cycle, a few could probably be honed away in the interests of quality.

I'll double up this official announcement with a secondary one - to help reconcile UICA ages with WCC ages, Nepharim and Brenecians will be aging two years between these seasons rather than one. It's just a one-off, and I apologise if it messes with anyone's plans.

Having discussed this with Nephara before I'd like to second it strongly - sometimes less is better. We don't need dozens of nameless regens from every single country who will be forgotten about right away spamming the market.

"A world without a Project +90 is no world that one should have to deal with."

These were the words of sportswear magnate Tomoyo Hamada, owner of TomoyoWear, a fashion/sportswear company as she officially acquired the registration of what was going to be a short-lived team in the province of Jutsii but now set sights on something bigger: the reputation of Project +90, a project capable of rising some of the finest players of the entire multiverse.

This is an invitation to take part in a sequel to what was one of the finest youth development programs ever. If you have any interest in participating, Project Olimpo will operate very much like Project +90 did, taking only under-21 players and releasing them to the world as soon as they reach the prime age of twenty-one. Anyone can send a player (or a batch of players, if they feel like it) as long as they're under-21. Preferably, you should include how their age cycle works, so there's no case of someone being aged less than they should. If possible, send them via telegram to this very nation.

As someone who's done exactly what's being asked not to be done with the transfer window in the past  , and as someone who appreciates Nephara's work in writing descriptions for transfers, I'll concur that a good description goes a long way in determining whether or not a player should be signed to a particular team.

I'm frantically looking for some source material I was going to turn into an RP, but it can be summed up as: what should we know about a player other than their name, age, country, and former club? And, everyone has strengths and weaknesses.

Since I am extremely lacking in promising fullbacks, I have put up 14 youngsters who could or could not maybe one day get to my NT in the Free Transfers tab. Go get them while they're hot. Please.

Basically the entire Equestrian States national team can now be found on the transfer list tab, including world class goalkeeper Gentle Breeze, top Equestrian striker Pristina Shine, and Champions Cup 54-winning LB Brix Hamilton. If you're interested in buying your team a pony, there's never been a better time to do so with all the top talents available. There's also a few humans with NT positons available for those of you too bigoted to allow the glorious equine master race entry into your leagues. :p

Additionally, the infamous Manechester City HC under the leadership of Val Kylx are looking to return their squad to the "glory" of being the unparalleled All-Multiverse Douchebag XI. Players who are talented but are dirty, egomaniacs, selfish, or just plain weird are all welcome.

TG me or PM me on the IRC if you're interested in either signing an Equestrian player or having one of yours join Val Kylx's "special" squad.

As the Legaskari enters its fifth season, it appears to be going from strength to strength. There is one exception to this. That exception is Gaillard, who have been remarkably terrible throughout the league's run so far, never once reaching the finals and failing to capture the imagination of the fans off the pitch.

Fortunately, when the issue of expansion last came up, we were given no shortage of potential Legaskari clubs. While Optima have since withdrawn their bid, the remaining unsuccessful bid, Sainati Bohemien, remain an option and have left their old paperwork with us:

SAINATI BOHEMIEN
But has the potential of the natural Askari catchments really been tapped? The Bohemians say, 'no!' Dinamo claim to represent the whole city, AC have laid claim to the northeast - why should a side not represent something so uncivilised as a region (though they would set up shop roughly in the centre of the city, with Dinamo roughly southern) but a concept? The Bohemians seek to return the game to beauty, to embrace the aesthetic, to pursue joy over the simple, binary nature of the result.

Bohemien would play in a chiefly black home kit with white socks, and a chiefly hot pink away with black shorts.

Some would say, however, that it is not right to remove a club from the system merely for their low 'metrics' - after all, was this not a risk we understood when placing a club in the small city of Gaillard? Would it be too cruel to remove professional football from their doorstep? Do Gaillard deserve another chance? Or should they be cast from the league and replaced by Bohemien?

Anyone can vote! Please TG all your votes to The Askari Union. Thank you for your participation and interest!
