From some correspondence with him in which I asked a similar question.

Cammers wrote:As for the CMSC players – I’ll be sticking up a nithe long note on the IDS discussions thread once the current season’s over, but yeah; suffice it to say, all players and managers from furrun countries will be released back into the sticky paws of their owners, as it were.

I do believe that they'll be shoved somewhere into the ROFL at the conclusion of the current season - as C&M told Nethers when he was informed of the hiatus.

<Beddgelert> if that were true, i'd never have woken up with pockets full of ketchup

Ta.

Now…

Under CMSC edict following recent… Things; all overseas nationals (an extensive, although possibly not exhaustive, list is helpfully provided below) must be considered immediately released from their contracts, with the clear exceptions of those at NAPPC and Tenderville United. Any correspondence regarding the status of players at those two clubs should, of course, be directed towards Nethertopia, who is a very nice young man and scrupulously clean about his person.

As far as the others go though, from an OOC point of view it’s up to their original ‘national’ owners to decide what to do with them from this point on. Naturally.

Having said that, that may include allowing them to immediately re-sign for their Candelariasian club. It must be stressed that they would naturally find themselves playing at a much lower standard than had previously been the case, for much less money, not have the opportunity of playing in UICA competitions, and only actually get about a dozen matches in per World Cup cycle. Equally, all but Kelssekians and Sarzonians would find themselves aging at a much faster rate to their Candelariasian colleagues, which would be somewhat disconcerting for most to say the least.

The option’s there, though. Just drop me a telegram if you want anyone to stay, for any particular reason. Otherwise I’ll consider them gorn.

Now, having said all that, there’s the obvious complication that a number of CMSC1 (and, indeed, CMSC2) clubs are under foreign ownership. The best thing, I rather feel, is for Messers Aiza, Aldalithe, Farely, Gil, Pak, Swann, Vegara, Wendell and such forth to allow their sides to slip into semi-stasis for a year or ten and hand over the day-to-day running thereof to Candelariasians. However… Since they do technically belong to these chaps and their various companies, the option must be presented to allow them to take drastic action to stop them potentially haemorrhaging a whole heap of money.

As such, if these people and/or their national consciousnesses really want to go all yankee and up and move the entire bloody “franchise” to somewhere in their own nation for a few seasons, the CMSC as a bloc would have little option but to accede to their demands. The local fans won’t like it one bit, of course, but since – from the perspective of most of the rest of the sporting multiverse – the average Candelariasian citizen will be perambulating through life at a snail’s pace that doesn’t necessarily matter so much. Up to you. Drop me a telegram again, or summat. I’ll still be floating about in the ether for a while.

As for Candelariasian players and staff based in Cafundéu, Nethertopia, Sargossa, Somewhereistonia, Jesselton, Krytenia, Valanora and anywhere else I’ve forgotten; they can carry on as normal until retirement, and age at whatever rate takes your fancy. Or you can just kick ‘em out now. Whatever floats your boats, dears.

In the verge of the new season, some Zarblese clubs are still looking for reinforcements:

Asia FC needs a fast and good shooter Left Back

Knights, best ranked Zarblese club in the UICA, needs a Defensive Midfielder with good disarming and passing skills

Polar Zenith, runner-up in the last Duke League, needs a strong Center Back

Please inform if you have any players available in these positions.

Thank you very much

And on C&M's note...

...Radyukevich CSC, in the hope of keeping active, would like to apply for membership of ROFL. If required, they can take the place of a Logrian club (whichever one finished lowest last season).

They would represent C&M should they qualify for UICA competition, despite playing at the Tower Stadium, Speake, Logria, for the duration of the CMSC's hiatus.

Is there an IC justification for the hiatus, btw?

(not that I begrudge CAMCAM one bit needing some time out from NS Sports, after all I had a long time out myself; just that it's always nice to know)

If not, fair enough.

The WFA continues to make known to the international football community that there is an available space for a manager at Lylia Foresters after their woeful last season.

And, more importantly for those interested in a very promising young striker, as C&M said above, Weegie international striker Quentin Gorrie, is looking for a club after being released from his contract at Caires City. The very tall (6ft 7in) 21 year old is a striker in the classic goal-poaching, target-man style, although he is quicker than he looks. He is, as you would expect, very good at heading the ball, scoring a good number of his 37 goals over two seasons for the Errant Knights in such a fashion. He is interested in continuing to play at around or near the same level as he has been accustomed to in the CMSC.

For Lylia Foresters I offer Steven Cahill, a 37 year old Snorth whom appears to be attack minded and likes wingers. He also possibly sprouts a lot of impressive bollocks about modern training methods and likes to mention his mentor a lot.

Beningrad meanwhile, in their ongoing attempts to show that actually, they are a decent team should be able to find a lovely home for Quentin Gorrie. With an' aga on everything.

Lylia Foresters will offer a contract to Steven Cahill, since they are impressed by impressive bollocks, impressively.

Quentin Gorrie accepts the offer from Beningrad.

Albrecht FC, within the capacity that Samseong has as the majority owner of the club, will continue to persist and to function as the preeminent football club of the capital of the Candelarias. In absence of anything better to do, Albrecht FC submits likewise its bid to enter into the ROFL as a Candelariasian club, in the same likeness as is proposed by Radyukevich CSC.

It is also at this time a modestly ambitious proposal by a member in the know of the delegation from the MAD that the ROFL should/could/maybe purdy peas/should be expanded to incorporate the top clubs of the Candelarias (with the explicit permission of the various club/franchise/organizational "owners/sponsors/whatnot" - be it a foreign-based entity or even a downright fans-owned mayhem). To accommodate this influx of clubs, a commission may be established by the ROFL founders to manage the organizational information associated with these clubs.

OOCly: I'm not hoping to hijack to the CMSC by any degree, but having followed the CMSC reports for the longest time, it's quite difficult to say hasta luego at something that's been really a cornerstone of the NS Sport community's creativity. I'm personally hoping to continue Albrecht FC's tradition and rivalries in some manner, in the hopes that the CMSC may be once again resurrected. So in some crazy inthethrillofthemoment insanity, I'm willing to coordinate the transfer of any CMSC club (non-foreign owned/sponsored/etc) to the ROFL in the interim, with the hopes that this brilliantly mad show of regional unity may at once continue the bright banner of Candelariasian football as well as promote a bit of regional rivalry.

I would understand it and respect C&M's wishes if he would prefer not to have his clubs participate in any foreign leagues or whatnot. But we can be hopeful that these few clubs that remain active can form the basis for the resurrection of the CMSC at a later date (whenever RL seems accommodating of potentially rich yet overbearing pleasantries). I'm making this request/offer public, while submitting something similar in private, in the hopes that it is accepted and also that others may not perceive of it any ill will.

And I apologize if my grammar isn't particularly set on straight - it's late, and I'm taking a 4 hour furlough from battling the ebil bed bugs.

EDIT: didn't want that first part to be ambiguous... not that having a world-class club in Gyeongju wouldn't be a bad thing... :P

Two points:
  1. The former CMSC clubs proposing to join the ROFL could only continue to compete in UICA competitions as Candelariasian clubs if C&M approved the transfer of his places to the ROFL. Otherwise, these clubs would have to join one or more different associations.
  2. If C&M’s places were transferred to the ROFL, they would be limited by the actual number of Candelariasian teams in the league. If there were four or fewer Candelariasian clubs, then up to three highest-placed Candelariasian clubs would qualify automatically for the TQCC group stage (assuming that the coëfficients remain constant). If there were five or more Candelariasian clubs, all four TQCC places would be available. These would be added to Nethertopia’s two TQCC places, and the ROFL would have six Globe Cup places in any case. It seems likely that CMSC clubs (including NAPPC and Tenderville United) would monopolize the TQCC places in such a league, to the detriment of the non-CMSC clubs that currently inhabit the league.

Of the two Ad’ihani players — current international captain James Masters, 31, and Dennis Williams, who I've lost track of and should be taken to be 24-26 — Williams is available to sign for any UICA-playing team. Masters will only sign for a TQCC-playing team from the top ten UICA associations.

Woo-yee. This, I fear, is going to require extensive use of quotes, PowerPoint, and a novelty dildo.

Cover me. I’m going in.

The Weegies wrote:Is there an IC justification for the hiatus, btw?

Yus. Although I did initially indeed to have all that done and dusted before I even mentioned, all public like, that I was offski for a bit; I didn’t end up getting around to it. I’ll do a random RP about it eventually (lawd knows where I’ll stick it, though I’m giving all due consideration to Sarg’s suggestion of the Quidditch Discussion Thread), but for now just assume that a series of somewhat confusing and complicated Events, followed by a certain amount of mourning, wailing and gnashing of teeth, occurred in the Candelarias during the last World Cup finals, and that Drastic Decisions were taken by both the government and footballing authorities as a result. The general stance of the international community, I would suggest, would be that Candelaria And Marquez needs to be left at arm’s length for a while and allowed to work through, with or without a physiatrist, its troubles in its own time.

Which is not remotely analogous with anything, incidentally, because I personally am absolutely hunky-dory. Ta to those who’ve been asking, though…

Oh – for the porpoises of his wiki page, Weeg, I reckon Gorrie scored a total of fifty goals for City, in eighty-five games across all competitions. The lad’s a marvel, so he is.

You do make life complicated sometimes, Hanners… :D

Okay, here’s the deal. At the current time, I have absolutely no idea when I’m going to properly have the time to properly come ‘back’* and, equally, in exactly what capacity that will be when it does indeed occur. I also haven’t decided whether I’ll choose to consider, ICly, that a) During the Gap, domestic football in the Candelarias effectively crumbled away to an entirely ad hoc arrangement (as was the case between, again ICly, the end of ye olde NFBL and the start of the CMSC proper; b) that the Gap will be filled entirely by the CMSC XL season (played on a more-or-less RL time scale), with C&M players like Nakatsuru and Hastings emerging blinky-eyed at the end of it all to retake their place in the national team as though only a few months had passed (their by now suddenly agéd former team-mates based overseas being just one of life’s little mysteries); or c) jump forward however many years and seasons as is appropriate, with the seasons having taken place between the end of the First International Era and start of the Second being remembered as time-filling exercises where the actual results will be regarded by future generations as little more relevant than those of, say, the Wartime League in England.

Basically, to cut a long story not quite as long, I do intend to return and pick up from where I left off, I’m just not entirely sure how. And, while I appreciate the affection that some of you have developed for certain imaginaryfootballclubs within the CMSC system (rather more than I have, in one or two rather worrying cases…), and – more to the point – the amount of effort several of yous have put into ‘running’ them, I think it would generally be better to allow the CMSC to slip into abeyance for now (at least as far as the rest of the multiverse is concerned). Everything and everyone must be allowed its chance to die, and there exists an infinite supply of unborns that deserve their opportunity to experience the gloriousness that is life. Don’t listen to that beardy-weirdy with the silly name, you know the one, it’s got a ‘De’ in it? Immortality is not only a fool’s quest, but a profoundly selfish one.

I’m rambling. Brb, sandwhich.

Back.

So the point is, I’ve been most delighted to see people following my lead (at least, I think it was my lead…) in doing MD-by-MD reports (albeit of a rather more sensible length :)) and welcoming foreign ownership and whatnot, so there’s plenty of other domestic leagues that can replace it (and already have, to various extents) as a very sweetly aforesaid cornerstone of thingy, so I don’t think any kind of wholesale dumping into the ROFL or anything is either required nor desirable. At any rate, I’d rather not having any clubs playing in the Candelarias involved in any other domestic leagues, or in UICA competition (beyond the next round thereof, obviously).

However, as I said, those who really want to (and/or for whom it makes no IC sense not to do so) have the option of taking the club elsewhere and treating it as their own (i.e., in Krytie’s option, Radyukevich would officially become a Logrian side for the purposes of UICA qualification and whatnot) for the immediate future. Whether the current management and any of the playing staff also toddle off to their side’s new home is up to the club’s owners, as is whether they keep the name and colours and such.

In Yaffy’s case, since Caires Sports had obviously been themostimportantclubintheYaforiteworld for a lengthy while now, it makes sense to withdraw the club from the CMSC/CAMAFA’s control, move them over to Yafor 2, and have them play under the name CSC Indigar whilst retaining the backroom staff and the bulk of the first XI. If you, Krytie, or you, Han (he says, turning his head in an easterly direction), or any of the other ‘owners’ who happen to be reading this, particularly want to do something similar, then be my guest. We can bludgeon out any outstanding details via TG.

An alternative would involve setting up a Chivas USA type doodad in a foreign land whilst keeping the original club in Candelariasian football (the major flaw in this analogy being that the new club would immediately see the bulk of the shared ownership’s financial clout, and quite possibly inherit key members of the Candelarias-based side’s playing or coaching staff (or at least the citizens from one’s own nation). Not sure if anyone would partikkerly want to take that option up, but it’s there if you want it (and would mean that, once I do get around to resuming the CMSC1 again, there’s no risk of the vacuum left by any club’s move overseas having, ICly speaking, been filled by any of their neighbours).

Cor.

So, anyway… Apologies for all that unnecessarily complication, I rather wish I’d sorted out all this sort of flannel a few weeks ago, but anyway… Yes. There we are.

I’m now going to have a little lie down.

(Oh, and I will reply to the various TGs on all this stuff I’ve already been sent when I have a further mo, so don’t anyone think I’m ignoring you…)

*I will not be appreciative of any snarky remarks pointing out that I still appear to have the time to write the preceding monstrosity. Be nice.

On second thoughts, it would be easier to parachute the side into the LC (as, officially, a Krytie club); they will be known as RCSC Northwood during this period, and play at Brecklands, Linford.

It offers a $15 million transfer fee to Mr. Gorrie in an effort to improve its striking capabilities.

They have also secured a large villa in the stylish Center City neighbourhood and a brand new Estrella Europa luxury hybrid sedan for Mr. Gorrie should he be interested in the Rogues offer.

AVAILABLE 1 STRIKER, SLIGHTY USED, STILL HAS ORIGINAL PARTS

Queer Poco el Mono Ara's "talismanic" striker, Ishmael Van Dyke is now a free agent. He holds the record of being the country's most expensive footballing export when he moved to Nethertopian side NAPPC, is the national team's top goal scorer with a tally of... umm... something in the three figure mark, I've not kept track of that and as C&M mentioned, he does have a wiki page (found here http://nswiki.net/index.php?title=Ishmael_Van_Dyke)

He is looking to join another club sharpish, he's 34 at the minute and will be 35 after the World Cup final, suggesting he has mebbe 2 seasons left in him. He's ideally looking for a club playing in the Globe Cup on a short contract (2 seasons...), but isn't being too picky because of his age.

So... yeah, if you're interested drop me a TG.

As a result of C&M's expressed desires concerning the CMSC, this is what is to become of Albrecht FC:

* All Candelariasian players and personnel will remain with the club in "suspended animation".
* Kim Dae-Eui - as Assistant Manager - will remain with the club in similar state.
* Go Song-Ji and Kato Shin-Ji - as Han players on the AFC squad - will be put out on loan ad temporam indeterminatus at club(s) to be determinated at a later date.
* All foreign players and personnel are free to leave the club on loan or on transfer (depending upon the owners' desires) to another club; players may be chosen by the Samseong BFA for special transfer to other clubs within the Samseong BFA organization, with the express permission of their owners'.

A list of foreign based players is released here:

Position	Player Nationality	Fate
GK Arian KRY Transfer to Tabeck FC (STB)
DC William CAF Transfer to Petardos S/A (CAF)
DC Gijs van Aulen NTH
DL Francois St. Louis KEL will remain at club
ML George Morrison SRZ
FW Famhi Hamizi JSL will remain at club

A list of clubs within the Samseong BFA organization will be coming shortly as soon as we verify the status of all BFA clubs.

Additionally, Pak Yong-Ho, after an illustrious career spanning nearly 13 years in three different countries, will be retiring. He has not expressed any desire to manage or assist managing clubs, and will return home to do what pleases him most (whatever that might be). He thanks to passionate fans at Arrigo for giving him a memorable end to his career.
