The 1st Annual NationStates Hunger Games

As OP of this thread, I want everyone who participates to enjoy themselves, share a drink, share some laughs, and watch the competition. The winning region in this competition will have a specially-written signature from me, along with a grand trophy image to post with their signature. This signature is to be shared with ALL members of the winning faction (though if you wish, you can simply post the signature/trophy to your region profile). Because they have agreed to act as host for the Hunger Games, [nation]The People's Republic of the Kingdom of daiwa and freeland[/nation] will act as Co-OP of this thread.

As always, the rules of the thread are as follows:
1)NO GM'ing
2)NO Trolling
3)Questions about weapons legality are to be submitted in this thread OOC Thread. Any other questions are also to be submitted there.
4)Once a region's participants are eliminated, that region is no longer allowed to compete, but can sponsor other region competitors.
5)Invincibility does not exist in the Hunger Games. If your participant is shot, stabbed, strangled, dies of disease or 'natural disaster', they are DEAD...NO IFs, ANDs, or BUTs.
6)Participating regions are strongly urged to use either soldiers or convicts. Soldiers are trained for life-and-death situations, and any convicts on death-row will also be killed anyway.
7)Should the winning region's participants be convicts, they are to be given full pardon by their nation of origin. They earned it.

Bio: Born to poor parents, Timur-Ozbeg grew up in an environment where everything was acquired by theft. Timur-Ozbeg got into many fights, and as a result, became adept at hand-to-hand combat techniques, and ambush. These helped him earn a place in the DKA, where he rose quickly to the rank of Sergeant. He's won many accolades, including the Timur Medal, the Great Khan's Medal(equivalent to the Medal of Honor), and the Blood-Drop (equivalent to the Purple Heart). He is not married, nor does he have any plans for marriage.

Bio: Tai grew up the youngest daughter of the prominent Shu family in Nuriko. The Shu family was known for their dojo even in the sparsely populated Drumeria. Her older siblings were good at martial art but her father adored Tai when he found out she was naturally gifted in the art. He trained her in the secret techniques and she inherited the dojo after his death. She teaches adults and children to defend themselves and become stronger in mind and spirit as well as body.

Bio: Damascus has been charged by the Milesana government with murder, conspiracy for murder, and evasion. Damascus had brutally murdered a Milesana police official and his former boss with the official's weapon's after they got into an altercation over payment on a big job. After fleeing the scene Damascus had plans to get back at other company officials but was foiled when Milesana police followed his bar code to his address. Instead of being taken alive Damascus jumped from his home window and ran to a nearby city. While in the city Damascus had back alley surgery to remove his bar code. Damascus then planned to flee to country but was again foiled when he was spotted trying to cross the nation boundaries. He is currently serving a life sentence with no parole. We in the Milesana Government have reviewed your event and we have given him the chance for full pardon if he survives the trials.

Bio: Born after the Second American Civil War, Issac served his mandatory conscription before attending college. He was placed in the 23rd Offensive Element , and after 25 years of stasis training he participated in the Egypt War working for Commander Winchester, earning high praise after helping with the assassination of the Egyptian military's higher up commanders. When he came back he enrolled in Ipswich university and got two Doctorates in Health Science and Universal Engineering. After college he was hired by Eden Inc. and is now a military doctor. Issac sports a host of personal genetic mods including enhanced muscle and bone quality, and amplified sense. He study briefly in Arcano-Tech as can be considered a competent telekinetic.

Bio: Leslie ''Boomer'' Pocus, grew up in the wealthy part of Dethtania,his father was a judge and his mother was a lawyer.In high school ,Boomer became very fond of the sport of ConBall (a watered down version though), earning him the M.V.P title 3 years in a row. In the military, he quickly ranked up.At the end of his compulsory service,Boomer was chosen to participate in the 340th annual Dethtania games.His team, Team Kancer, is the only team to ever beat the Juggernauts.After the game, The Juggernauts' manager,Dean Ladburg,contacted him to join The Juggernauts. He quickly accepted,and soon became Head Vaulter for the team. After years of ConBalling, he decided to put his carreer in hiatus,and volonteered for NS's first Hunger Games.

Timur-Ozbeg arrives at Manchester, with his retinue of retainers, who carry his armor and equipment. They also carry a coffin, as it is understood that he could be killed in this competition. Having faced death on numerous occasions, however, fear is something Timur-Ozbeg doesn't feel. Already, the crowds coming to watch the Games were crowding around his transport vehicle. His retainers climbed out first and gently herded the crowds back so he could climb out. Timur-Ozbeg did so, looking each spectator in the eye, but only vaguely acknowledging their cries of adoration. He was here to compete, not to become a celebrity.

Leslie ''Boomer'' Pocus arrives in Manchester, he's surrounded by Dethtanian photographers and a few news reporters. He's accompanied by his wife ,Bernada Grand, she holds a sports bag (It's marked with the Juggernauts Logo).At the sight of the huge crowd surrounding his van,Boomer starts acting like the star that he was,but he knows he'll have to be more than a star to catch the attention of Hugh Parsons.Leslie signed up for the thrill of the kill,this was just the top of the iceberg.

Isaac Crane is a simple man if such a thing could be said about any Luxan citizen. He entered Manchester with a small entourage composed of his closest friends and necessary servants. Primary among them was his wife Felicia Crane, she was dressed formally with a death mask, ReAnima tools and he signature cloak, a token of her order. All of this simply showing off her position as a higher up necromancer. Eden Inc. had promised to reanimate him if he perished but his wife was much more suited to the act.

With him followed Mr. N'ekelot an embassary of his employer, he floated with the group as a major player in the business of genetic modifications his own body had little resemblance to the human for he was birthed with and he attracted many strange looks while globes of grey matter and strands of light played around his body. He was there to acts as a firs responder for his primary sponsor.

With this strange group also came Aleister Riddle he was dressed in full Luxan Immortal Armor, armed with Nanite bonded obsidian the armor could make a 50. Caliber shell feel like bb gun pellet. He keep his weapons undrawn in their holsters and left his helmet on during most of the entrance. He was simply there in order to maintain security and had been chosen as he was a good friend of Isaac

Timur-Ozbeg made his entrance into the coliseum (?) where the spectators were hollering, screaming, and generally making loud noise. He looked to the crowds, giving each person a brief acknowledgement, then promptly forgetting that they were even alive, much less in the crowd. He moved to the platform which was designated for the competitors, so that the crowds could see them. He wore flashy gold and silver armor, with trailing ribbons of red fabric forming a wing shape. He unsheathed his glittering sword, studded with gemstones of various colors, and lifted it to the sky. The lights gave the sword a look as if it had been crafted directly from a star. He reached the platform, then sheathed his sword and stood ramrod straight, once again shutting out the sounds of the crowds.

Tai Shu made her entrance into the coliseum where the spectators were hollering, screaming, and generally making loud noise. She smiled warmly at the crowd, waving her hand at them. She moved to the platform designated for the competitors. Her red and gold hanfu shown brightly. Close to the platform she unsheathed her broadsword and danced with it showing off her moves. The red and black silk danced from the handle of the sword. At the platform she sheathed her sword and joined the Mongol competitor. She bowed respectfully to him and to their sponsors and viewers before standing with her hands clasped gracefully in front of her.
