Possibility of a NS Hunger Games

There could be a group of weapons specific to each nation.

Honor blades, scimitars, etc. sound good to me.

Also, national tokens, like in the book, I think should also be implimented. Unlike the book, dirty tricks though could be allowed - hiding a spike in a ring, for example.

I don't think technology levels matter because District 1 was technologically advanced than District 12.

I am not in support of an NS Hunger Games. As said, the technology would not be compatible for NS Sports. I have not read the books, but I have watched the film. Although it would be cool, developing a scorinator would be very hard.

Echoing this, it seems like a Hunger Games type of event would be more revolved around how each player role-plays it; as such, developing a scorinator for something like this would take a substantial amount of variables in it to make it work. You all are encouraged to try and come up with one, but if not, then I'd say this will need to be moved to a different sub forum.

The question will be though, will we have non-lethal combat (shock mauls, tasers, etc.) or will it be a pure battle royale? I'd imagine we'd have to send teenage criminals for the later as I don't think randomly selecting two teens to die would go down very well.

Why would they have to be teenagers? For this particular Hunger Games, we could use full-grown adults. If we're to use convicts, then we'd need to make a reward to die for (literally)...a full pardon. Besides, the WA might take issue with using teenagers, even if they're convicts.

Good idea on the basic tech, but maybe it would be more entertaining if you threw a few assault rifles in the weapon pile (ooc: i'm refraining from calling it a cornucopia cuz i don't wanna be sued for copyright lol). People would struggle to get the modern tech, and it would be more interesting, almost like if cavemen were to fight against special ops soldiers from the future.... My nation has arms companies that would be glad to sponsor the games if you need sponsors....

The main problem is that its way too easy to kill 23 contestants via spray-and-pray by giving them a modern weapon or two. I think such an idea would work if we didn't have 24 contestants - ie, more than 12 nations at a time - but I think to level out the playing field I'd give a few revolvers instead.

I have to agree. The 'spray-em-down' kind of guns would make it too easy. Revolvers and rifles would be the better way to go.

I will put together the IC thread for the NS Hunger Games tomorrow night. This will give each region time to decide who will send their combatants (or tributes). If anyone is willing to act as host for the Hunger Games, please telegram me and let me know. You WILL be responsible for the safety of the spectators, and the participants (at least until the Games begin). Also, along with the participants, feel free to list any sponsors your region is willing to contribute to the Games.
