PRO WRESTLING federations in your country

in Suricato, Professional Wrestling is definitely by far the most followed sport-entertainment and sport in general (it creates bigger revenues than Football-Soccer, Cricket, MMA just to give you an idea)

there are two main federations, who both hired the most famous bookers and writers for their shows directly from SOLLYWOOD (Suricatan answer to Hollywood, Bollywood and Nollywood) and the wrestlers are national celebrities and role models for kids. They both broadcast their shows Monday Night and they both last 2 hours, events are shown in megascreens, movie theaters and on STV1 and STV2

The Federations are:
SWF - SURICATAN WRESTLING FEDERATION (newer, more WWE-like, higher ratings, all male wrestlers are heavyweights)
World Heavyweight Championship, Hardcore Heavyweight Championship, Extreme Heavyweight Championship
Ladies Championship

SP - SURICATO PURORESO (older, old-school NWA-like style, just a bit behind ratings but currently in a transformation phase, small-physique wrestlers can be seen only here)
National Championship, Federal Championship, Province Championship
Ladies Championship


note: Use of Steroids is legal in Suricato only under medical supervision and for professional purposes only for men. Once a wrestler decides to retire he will follow a free of charge government program to detox his body.

Wrestling is banned in our country, since we think of it as a sport which "poses a harm to the continuity of human life". Boxing is still permitted, somehow.

WWE and several other wrestling federations are really popular, at least historically that is, pro wrestling is just a old entertainment thing we look at.

The American promotions WWE and TNA are somewhat popular, along with the Japanese PWNOAH and NJPW. San Leggera also has its own promotions, the largest of which being the International Wrestling Federation. Many independent promotions coexist, sometimes acting as farm leagues for IWF.

We have only one Pro Wrestling federation in Allinlia. The Allinlian Professional Wrestling Association (known simply as "The Association" during programs) is watched religiously in certain circles in the empire and prides itself on the unpredictable nature of its match results.

The Atlantao can't move and frown upon violent entertainment.
The Yezdrig only like sports with swords and guns.
The Kranatee don't like sports at all.
The Aviate are somewhat amused by it. They themselves don't have wrestlers, but they occasionally watch human wrestling. Usually though, they prefer sports that involve flight, which most humans cannot do unaided.

So, while there is a niche audience, the majority of the Holy Atlantae Empire is apathetic towards or bored by wresting.

At one time, pro wrestling used to be popular in the Kingdom. Then, the King (the father of King Paulus XV) discovered that it was fake and declared the alleged "sport" fraudulent and illegal. The King was personally offended because he had been a long-time fan of the "sport" and was outraged to discover that they had played him (and thousands of his Subjects) for fools for decades. Not surprisingly, almost all the scammers fled the country and nobody has ever attempted to bring that fake crap back to the Kingdom. A few wrestlers stayed behind and ended up being forced to compete in various extremely violent and dangerous matches to torture them and amuse the King, who was eventually successful in crippling all of them.

[Teddy Bear Republic]

In the TBRE, pro-wrestling is organized by the Teddy Wrestling Federation. It's not a particularly common or popular sport, though, with minor viewership ratings. The TWF is also responsible for some amateur leagues as well.
