Have just noticed that the link for World Lacrosse Championships 19 is to the World Lacrosse Championships 18 Thread

Also the link for the Memorial Cup is wrong, should be this viewtopic.php?f=7&t=297261

I have just noticed that I am listed as a co-host of World Lacrosse Championships 12. I'm not sure of the conventions of the thread, but my only role for the tournament was to scorinate Civil Citizenry's final two matches as a third party - I had no other role in the organisation or execution of the tournament.

I'm glad to announce that my sweep of the almost 300 pages and 11 years of the forum is complete. It will need some restructuring soon, but the thread is as complete as it ever will be :P Have fun! And please report any mistakes here, because there are bound to be some when dozens of tournaments are added.

You used the race standings for NSSCRA 8, not the final points standings. The race did finish as Brooke-Qiang-Stiller, but the championship was Qiang-Suzgar-Alvarez

As some people might have noticed, with NSWiki's broken login system making it impossible to update, I've been working on moving articles to IIwiki. There is a full article on the last World Cup, and some on the current one, I've transferred over most club logos that are on NSWiki, and there are now pretty nice summaries of some of the club tournaments, UICA and IFCF, and the Olympics as well.

I'm now working on Jolt-era Cup of Harmony stuff and realizing it was such a bad idea to think scores should be telegrammed privately. But especially if you have graphics and material of major ex-nations, it would be helpful if you can pitch in. There is certainly interesting stuff to unearth in the old Champions League/NSFA Cup that pre-existed UICA. Look at this freaking thing! Your clubs' coefficients track your KPB rank?! What a concept.

A couple things in the editing effort I'd like to encourage:
1) Please don't rush to update articles every matchday, there's no need for that, and if it annoys Wikipedia when people update Sidney Crosby's stats every game he plays, I bet an even less-resourced volunteer efforts wants that either.
2) Just like with writing RPs, it's safest and easiest to write a chunk in a word processor or Google docs that auto-saves your work - something like notepad ++ is great too, although the nice thing about IIwiki is that its editing thing makes the code all pretty while you write it.
3) Try not to break the fourth wall - this is a formal rule on IIwiki that all content must be "in-universe". I haven't noticed this being policed, though - there are a bunch of OOC references littering the transferred Olympic Games article, for instance, but I'm sure they won't mind if it's not too blatant.

Kel, at the risk of bursting your bubble, several of us are trying yet another wiki:
Zwangzug wrote:As you many know, there have been many attempts at NS-wide wikis that have fallen into disuse/been locked out/deleted articles on a whim. Some of us are attempting to start a new sports-centric wiki in the hopes that it can be a centralized resource. Please feel free to create new pages and/or migrate over existing content from other sites! If you need any help, feel free to reach out to Farf, Kitkat/Omerica, myself, or anyone else onsite (Graint, Quebec, and others are already contributing).

Ch had some old flags and I can see if there's anything useful in that dump, though I think it's more tqcc era than nsfa etc.

After some good ideas on the Discord, I've found the lucky combination to un-ripple flags.

Steps:
1. Get an image editor like Photoshop, Paint.net, or anything that can does multiple layers and has a few extra features, basically. Paint.net is free and it's what I used to get this result.
2. Open your rippled flag in the image editor.
3. On a separate layer, paste the ripple flag texture.
4. Stretch the ripple texture until it overlaps the flag entirely, 100%.
5. Invert the colours of the ripple texture.
6. Set the ripple texture layer to Color Dodge.

Before:

After:

What it looks like for me in Paint.net:

Note the two layers, the top of which is the inverted colour ripple texture (which is why that layer looks nearly completely black), and the layer properties for Layer 2 (the ripple texture layer).

Just a quick note, the AOCAF LX link actually links to AOCAF LIX.

Great work to you guys, also! I use your thread all the time when I try to find historical tournaments or anything like that, I love this page. Keep up the great work! :)

Aaaaand we've got a new post! There's been so many non-WCC Football events the section now takes up two posts, with the Other Tournaments heading being split off by itself. All the links in the OP should be updated to send to the correct posts. If you notice anything wrong, yell at Mriin to fix it!

Also took care of Banija's comment just above, AOCAF 60 should now be properly linked.

The results in IBC IX is incorrect, this should have been Sarzonia-Qazox-Cassadaigua.
The last results posted by the host was for the consolation bracket.

I'll double check the RP/results threads to check other tournaments.

Hey there, regarding the Basketball section of the history thread (viewtopic.php?p=12247265#p12247265), do you think it's possible that the NSCAA could be split into its own section, rather than being scattered under the "Other Tournaments" header? It's got over 10 editions now on these forums, about as much as all the other random basketball tournaments currently listed. I think it deserves to be in its own section. Plus, it's more convenient for navigation.

I put this on our docket some time ago, just have been too lazy to get around to it. A similar reordering for Motor Racing is also in the cards. Will hopefully get done sooner as I shed other NSS responsibilities!

(speaking of lazy, this is Mriin who didn't want to switch nations before replying)

I think it'd be great to include the NS World Cup of Masters (35 and over association football).

We're starting the third edition on Thursday.

New periodic update

Consider it... nearly done. Pages 10 to 307 on the forum are covered (tournaments that wrapped up before March 14, 2021) so third edition will appear very soon.

Revamped the Tennis, Basketball and Motor Sports posts to separate out different tournaments (NSTT/ATP/Scott Cup/WTTC/NSCAA/WGPC/NSSCRA). Added Melayu football tournaments as well as other tournaments that have occurred between 2020 and March 2021.

PS: Now updated to 5th June 2021.

I figured I would get this stuff organised seeing I'm returning soonish. Give me a couple of cycles to get back in the swing of things and I might think of bringing this back with a new Xkoranate file updated to the modern game... with an AFLW addon too. This shouldn't be lost to history because I was a stupid 17 year old boy... not now I'm a 25 year old girl who found herself.

Not a huge deal but I noticed in linking to old stuff that CR36 links to CR35, not CR36.

And I believe I've brought this up before (in one of the custodians' Discord DMs - although I've forgotten who!), but the section on domestic football appears to give up, go home, make itself a cup of tea and walk the dog after UICA 44 - with the exception of a mostly-unsuccessful trilogy of Premier League-style competitions that were held around 2014-15. I'm surprised this section has been neglected for so long, given that every other section of the History thread is reasonably up to date.

When I ran the post through a word counter, it spit out 57940 characters. (it also froze my browser for a hot second) Any large-scale update to domestic football will necessitate a new post; I'll bring this up with the rest to discuss the possibility of compiling all the UICA results from 45 to 73, Dwile, and of course the current twelve cycles of IFCF football.

You incorrectly listed the winner of Handball World Cup 23.

It was Sarzonia who won, not Sylestone.

Done a sweep and updated most football tournaments (regionals/WCC/U18/U21/Brevity). Split off regionals into its own post as the character limit exceeded 60,000. I intend to ask Mandalanunsa for links to their regional tournaments.

Next on the major agenda is adding a section for chess. Other sports will be updated as and when.
