Starblaydi Squad List Released
New Team, New Manager, Famous Captain

The Starblaydi Under-21 side, who have only ever once been Under-21 champions in their near one hundred and thirty year history, take to the 10th Di Bradini Cup with a new sense of purpose under their new manager, Ricky England. The long-time Starblaydi stalwart, who is not only in the top ten in terms of all-time appearances for his country but also in the Rapaii 15 club, takes charge of his first international team at any level. Only a few of his players have any Under-21 experience already: Kanzantzakis and Suntaran have two caps each, while Starblayde, Sophronia, Villasenior and Vecasu have one each to their name, though none at all with any goals. This side is notable for the inclusion of one Julius Starblayde, youngest son of the Lord-Protector of Starblaydia. The young man has been made Captain by England, though whether it is a publicity stunt, a deserved honour or a challenge to prove himself has yet to be seen.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is time for the Tenth di Bradini U21 World Cup. For the tenth time in the teams history the Knights will be taking on the World in a big tournament. For most of the players on this years team though it will be their first time. Most of the team is gone except for the only player on last years team to not be from the original 14 Under Atlantean Soccer League Championship team. Yes, Jamie Spenser is the only veteran from any other cup and now in his most likely third to last cup Spenser has become the captain. In the coming weeks his leadership will be tested as he leads the 16th ranked overall Purple Knights into the 10th World U21/di Bradini Championships for the first time in a few years in the great Nation of Starblaydia. We wish him well.

This year the highest tally of U21 teams will embark and try to win on the path to Internatioanl U21 fame. In the hallowed fields of Starblaydia the biggest test in many years will begin as four groups of 8 teams will fight it out for ultimate champion. This year the Knights group consists of World number 4 Yafor 2, world number 8 Dancougar, Hosts and World number 10 Starblaydia, World number 5 Peisandros, and only two lower seeded teams then the Knights newcomers South Weidna and Lanceo. As it looks the Knights will have to overcome 4 very good higher seeds if the want to make it back to the worlds elite stage. The Knights will definetly need to work and bond before the tournament begins. As it is now there is now concrete schedule so tune in in the coming days to see when, where and who the Knights will be playing.

Macabee Under-21 Football Squad

Image

Image

The following squad has been called-up to participate in the Di Bradini Cup.

[Some players are also partaking in the Díenstad Cup. I consider these two tournaments taking at different times. This is how I see it: World Cup Qualifiers -> World Cup Finals (or Cup of Harmony) -> Di Bradini Cup -> Díenstad Cup]

Lars Kíendar (21), Goalkeeper: Lars Kíendar is the starting goalkeeper for Royal Club Española, one of the most successful teams in the Ligue Imperiotech (2016/2017 champions). He has a history of “standing in the right place, at the right time”, and is good at protecting the goal against breakaways. He also works well under pressure. Unfortunately, his young age (twenty-one) precludes him of having the necessary experience to be comparable to world renowned goalkeepers. Despite this, he has a bright future ahead of him, not just as a goalkeeper in the league, but as the starting goalkeeper for the national team. That said, he took part in World Cup 46, as well as Díenstad Cup I.

Díendar Shost (18), Goalkeeper: Díendar Shost is a youth goalkeeper, hoping to gain experience to be bought into a premier league. He is quick, intelligent and is known to “stand in the right place”. Being tall, he is also good at stopping balls in the airs, including protecting against high-ball corner kicks into the area. This makes him one of the most powerful youth goalkeepers available to the nation’s under-twenty-one football team.

Agin Kal (17), Center Back: A young, relatively inexperienced center back, he is nonetheless smart and fast. He is also a fast learner. He has been recently contracted by the Fedala Imperials for roughly eight million Ríokmarks, making him a relatively expensive youth transfer. He is one of the nation’s great future promises in defensive football.

Ladis Berk (20), Center Back: Ladis Berk plays for Port Tenacious, as is one of the nation’s best young center backs. He is more experienced than most center backs of his age, and has good speed, easily earning him a spot on the national team. He is likely to be called-up for the regular national team, as well, for World Cup 47.

Nantes Fersas (17), Center Back: Nantes Fersas is much like Ladis Berk, but younger. He is a promising youth player, and will reportedly be brought up to the first division by next season. However, his agent has been looking for an international outlet. He is one of the most illustrious under-twenty-one defenders in the national league system, and will also likely be called up for the World Cup team.

Derek Tíernal (20), Center Back: Derek is not as good as his counterparts, but he is relatively experienced for his age. However, he is slow and not good at stopping breakaways. He is better when operating within the area, as a final line of defense before the goalkeeper. He is also relatively large, making him a hard obstacle to get around.

Bur Xetal (19), Wing Back: Bur Xetal is one of the youngest players on the national team. His main purpose is to develop his skill and experience in order to formulate him into a good winger to replace others as they grow older, or if they are injured. Xetal is fast, smart and an extraordinary defender. He can only assist in the tasks in the midfield, and is good with connecting with strikers on top for quick counterstrikes. He is a valuable asset in the counter attack, and is known for extremely lethal accuracy when it comes to assisting a striker for a goal.

Kel Kanis (16), Wing Back: Kel Kanis is not only an excellent youth right-back, but he is also one of the best set-piece kickers of the under-twenty-one national team. He has the uncanny ability to drop a ball right into the area, on top of a “friendly player”, making him extremely dangerous when playing on the wings. He is, however, very susceptible to moving up front, sometimes sacrificing his defensive awareness. He can also play as an attacking midfielder.

Jab Tes (20), Wing Back: Jab Tes is an older wing back for the national youth team, but he is also very good at his job and is considered one of the best the nation has to offer. Nevertheless, he is also relatively less experienced than his peers.

Sergi Bert (18), Defending Midfielder: Sergí Bert is the common starting defensive midfielder; he is a young, talented midfielder. Replaced Dertish Malfor in this position after this player's death. Sergí Bert plays for a semi-professional team outside of the official league system. He has caught the eye of several league managers, although Bert has expressed interests in playing in a foreign league. He and his agents are hoping that this world cup will be his grand debut into the international world of professional football. He is the only non-professional player on the team.

Agno Míarnar (19), Defending Midfielder: Agno Míarnar is Dertish Malfor's replacement as a defensive midfielder. Dertish Malfor died of a heart attack during World Cup 46. Agno Míarnar plays in Port Elusive and has been contracted for the national team.

Joán Zeneti (21), Attacking Midfielder: Joán Zeneti is another international player. He is an attacking midfielder for the Somewhereistonian team Qasarian Sparta, a first division league team. His skill aided Qasarian Sparta to become league champions. He is also one of the best attacking midfielders present for the Macabee National Football Team, and is young enough to guarantee his presence in the next two world cups, at the very least. His strengths are in organization, and he has the capability to clearly set up lines of attack with other midfielders and strikers. That is, he’s successful in presenting opportunities for the goalscorers, and he has scored many goals himself. His capabilities as a midfielder have attracted the interest of other international managers, and he is likely to have a promising career.

Daví Xernal (18), Attacking Midfielder: Xernal is a winger for Díenstad F.C., a second division club in the national league. He has caught the eye of several first division teams, as well as the national team. This is his first international call-up. He is intelligent and fast, and able to link up with players above him on the field. That makes him a very valuable asset to overwhelm the opponent’s defense, and embodies the international team’s offensive bias.

Boján Fert (16), Attacking Midfielder: Boján is one of the youngest players on the team. He plays for Real Club Española’s youth team, and is likely to find a contract, soon enough, in an upper division club. This is his first international competition.

Cien Gertrud (17), Attacking Midfielder: Cien plays for Dinamo Karrakiv B in Somewhereistonia, and was a factor in earning the team's first place finish. This is his first international competition, and is likely to be called-up for the regular national team. He is also looking for possible contracts with other first division teams.

Georgi Bagnó (17), Central Midfielder: Georgi Bagnó is another youth player, known for his speed. This will be his first international competition with a national team.

Guy Lafos (17), Central Midfielder: Lafos is a playmaker, and is able to control the speed of the game. This makes him the team’s premier youth midfielder, and also a promising candidate for the regular national team.

Nestor Gran (18), Central Midfielder:

Vern Díer (19), Central Midfielder:

Shost Glen (21), Striker: Glen is a younger, powerful forward. His main strength is his accuracy, since he is not too good with creating opportunities to score. He is powerful when he has another player to connect with him on the top, since he is good at controlling and accurately shooting the ball with much strength. As a result, he is more of a direct attacker and mostly used when the midfield has control of the game. Shost Glen plays for Royal Club Española.

Nether Falsó (21), Striker: Falsó is another powerful striker with his eye on goal, although he is not as accurate as Glen. He is, however, a better playmaker, allowing him to set up a shot if the shot is not immediately clear to him. This makes him a more valuable asset when the midfield does not have control of the game. As a result he and Glen alternate as substitutes during games, depending on how the midfield is doing.

Darsí Bon (17), Striker: A very young striker who was recently promoted to the main team from Illusqué’s youth club. He is intelligent and fast, giving him good qualities to break away from the defense. He is also likely to be called-up for the national team for the World Cup.

Derek Fersas (18), Striker: Derek Fersas plays for Qasarian Sparta, along with Joán Zeneti. He was won a league championship with that team, and this would be his first international call-up.

Re: 10th Di Bradini Cup (RP, Rosters & Scores)

Postby Secristan » Fri Jun 05, 2009 1:32 am

It is time for another Di Bradini Cup, and the Secristan Department of Sports is ready to cash in on more adults placing bid for their teenage sons or daughters as they attempt to re-live their sports fantasies. This tends to create a roster that looks more like a U-18 team then a U-21 team, because generally the 18-21 year olds don’t have their parents bidding for them, and thus can’t normally outbid the ones that do for their teenagers.

Starters:
GK: #1 Garrett Holt (19)- He was a reserve in Valanora. Little else known.
LB: #2 Anthony Caruso (20)- Played in Valanora, and got a pretty good overall reputation, enough to convince a bank to give him a significant loan to place his bid.
LCB: #5 Jared Klaassen (18)- Born to deaf Lovisan parents, Jared is 100% Secristani and ready to make an impact. Jared is not deaf.
RCB: #3 Socki Lucas (17)- Born to Taeshani parents, Lucas hits with more punch then the Taeshan Times, or whatever it’s called.
RB: #6 Victor Pressley (16)- Don’t know much about him, sorry.
LM: #12 Michelle Wilson (20)- Born in Dancougar; fired from internship with Dancougar News and relocated to Secristan and recently became a citizen. How she got the money to bid, we have no clue.
CAM: #8 Jonas Tisdale (17)- Decent midfielder, has a weird taste in music, though.
CDM: #10 Simeone Bradley (16)- Parents named him after the great Simeone Di Bradini, and had to be sure he played in this tournament. They further provided the SDOS with money to get this jersey number.
RM: #14 Lauren Kelly (16)- Parents placed her bid actually hoping this could further her modeling career as perhaps such agencies would notice her.
LS: #9- Kevin Shortclef (17)- Packs a powerful shot and good in the air. Loves elves, we’re told.
RS: #11- Brian Connors (15)- Very speedy. Too bad this isn’t a track meet.

Subs:
GK: #20 Kim Jeonghui (16)- Athletic keeper. Passionate, but sometimes a little crazy, too.
CB: #4 Donald Donalds (17)- Parents placed his bid and in return their son promised not to change his name as soon as he turned 18.
CB: #22 Eddie Markolis (18)- Defensive defender.
MID: #23 Pete Cockerfield (17)- Stop it, he can’t help his last name.
MID: #18 Brutus Caesar (16)- Old-school style midfielder. Plays passionately, but watch your back.
ST: #14- Kyle Anderson (17)- Father works for the Secristan Department of Sports, so no bid was necessary.
ST: #13- Robert Tucker (16)- Threatened to sue his parents when he turned 18 if they did not bid for a spot for him as they did for his brother Kevin (who is on national team).

Reserves:
GK: #31 Andy Harris (17)- Our fax ate his resume, sorry.
CB: #25 Rodney Byers (20)- Moved to Secristan from Cassadaigua when he turned 18 to get away from that sexist culture.
MID: #17 Brett Preston (18)- Agitator, idolizes Newmanistan’s Brett Prescott.
ST: #15 Scott Hansbury (19)- Was in this same exact spot in #9 as well.
UTIL: #16 Dre Snooper (17)- Wannabe 90’s style rapper. Don’t mess with him, biotch.

Coach: Felipe Cortez (50)

Re: 10th Di Bradini Cup (RP, Rosters & Scores)

Postby Queer Poco el Mono Ara » Fri Jun 05, 2009 2:20 am

And so our proud Nation makes its first foray into the international forum. Fitting that our youngest men be sent forth first to test themselves against the youth of the World.

Coach - Under 21’s Coach Miguel da Rossa, selected by Asdrubal Espinoza from a large short-list. Has spent time as assistant coach at Valengren Kickers and Augustus and one season as first team coach of League II side Allied Motor Trade.

Starting XI

GKP. 1. Ariel Mendozza – Reserve keeper at Athletic Khaldoon, played a big part this season due to injury of Brad Johnson. Great reactions and big frame make him difficult to score against but has been known to miss crosses when under minimal pressure.

RB. 2. Rory McMahon – The 19 year old right back is a natural successor to his Skyte City counterpart David Beecham. Strong, fast and decisive played a number of times in the League Cup.

LB. 3. Manny le Paglia – Another member of Athletic’s youth academy, Manny has made a number of appearances for the first team after injury to Simon Brown. Played well but a lack of pace often leaves him desperately chasing back.

DM. 4. Gabriel Argento – Tough tackling defensive midfielder but has a habit of losing his cool and picking up a card. The 21 year old was on the cusp of breaking into the senior team at Pythons but is likely to slide down the pecking order after they won the league title.

CB. 5. Ahmed Khan – 19 year old Ahmed has been the beacon of light in Villa Ortiz dreadful season, but is likely to be lost to a bigger team following their relegation. Tall, muscular and powerful, Khan played his part in every Ortiz game that ended in a clean sheet.

CB. 6. Rudolpho – aged 20, Rudolpho is a first team player at League I side 1860 Flumineiro and has courted the attention of Serie de Fútbol’s biggest teams. A firm tackler who hardly ever puts a foot wrong, Rudolpho is a star in the making. CAPTAIN

RM. 7. Hugo Anderson the Augustus superstar has returned to the U21’s for the cup after being voted QPMAFA young player of the year at just 16. At 16 he is the youngest player on the team but the most technically gifted, however he is beginning to let media hype go to his head.

CM. 8. Alan Ball exploded onto the scene 2 years ago aged 18 but has since petered out. His dip in form has seen him traverse the leagues on loan deals. A decent shot and good distribution make him an attacking threat but defensively he lacks strength.

STR. 9. Enrico Dossena. Soon to turn 22, Dossena is the most senior player in the team. Playing upfront regularly for League I side MLS Leighton Dossena is a powerful striker and target man, capable of holding up the ball and waiting for support shows good judgment despite his young age.

STR. 10. Wayne Ulrich. An Augustus academy player, Wayne has come through the ranks to make a number of appearances for the first team. At 20 he is Augustus youngest ever goal scorer in the league. A fast paced attacker, capable of nipping round defenders and slotting home with his deft precision.

LM. 11. Rowan Askwith – 19 year old Rowan has been on loan at Racing Cruzeira all season and has improved leaps and bounds – may make his debut when he returns to parent club Barbossa. Swift with a tremendous left leg but has a habit of getting caught out of position and leaving the defence exposed.

Substitutes
CB/WB. 12. Koga has been playing for 1860 Flumineira for three years having arrived from a non-league side. Great at heading the ball clear and implementing the offside trap but it has often been commented he lacks stamina.

GKP. 13. Jim Daniels – Under 21’s keeper for Pythons – yet to make a league debut but has turned in a number of impressive performances for the reserves. Safe hands, but his passes often go astray.

RM/AM. 14. David Best. Former Under 21’s winger has lost his place to Hugo Anderson. Still a great prospect and if Anderson is rested will always perform well on the right. The 20 year old is also a great attacking midfielder and scored 6 goals from midfield for League I Garrincha F.C

CB. 15. Sylvan Ramos is another member of 1860’s superb young defence. A great prospect but until he gets a regular first team place is likely to be a wasted young talent. Keen tackler who likes to get stuck in but his enthusiasm often comes leads to fouls.

STR. 16. Faustino Valderama. The silky skilled striker has a blistering turn of pace but for all his trickery lacks accuracy and had the worse shots per goal ratio of any striker this season. May have a point to prove at the championships that he deserves to be included.

Reserves
17. WB. Alberto Mascherano – 21 – Augustus (reserves)
18. STR. Kieran Maloney – 19 – Villa Flumineira
19. CM. Charlie Barker – 20 – Barbossa (reserves)
20. DM. Sergio Enrique – 21 – Valengren Kickers (reserves)
21. LM. Fabrizio Pauletta – 17 – Salaga F.C
22. CB. Hector Cabrini – 21 – Burston Wanderers
23. STR. Lionel Vega - 21 – Royal Khaldoon (reserves)

Re: 10th Di Bradini Cup (RP, Rosters & Scores)

Postby Queer Poco el Mono Ara » Fri Jun 05, 2009 3:32 am

Before a ball has even been kicked...

The telephone rang and rang and could be heard echoing throughout the building. Asdrubal Espinoza had yet to join up with the Queer Poco el Mono Ara national team but was still being consulted on issues whilst he finished the year at Albrecht Turkish. The phone clicked and went to answer machine

“This is Asdrubal, I’m busy at the moment but will get back to you as soon as I can.”

The person at the other end paused, composed what they were going to say in their head and exhaled loudly. “Hi, it’s Miguel da Rossa, we’ve arrived in Starblaydia. I’m having a little problem with Hugo Anderson, he’s pissed and moaned all the way here and wants to be excluded so he can join up with the full team at the Oxen Cup.” Miguel thought for a moment holding the receiver to his head and curling the wire coil round his finger. “I’ve said no and now he’s having a hissy fit and saying he refuses to play, if you can help me out that’d be great. You’ve got my number. Thanks. Bye.”

Hugo Anderson. His name was everywhere this year, he broke into the Augustus first team aged just 16, played for the national team in a friendly against Dancougar and was voted QPMAFA young player of the year. Not only was he a World class footballer, he was a preening pretty boy with tones of female admirers. He was a good boy and too young to go drinking with his team mates and getting in trouble at night clubs, and because he was a good boy and a role model for 'Poco kids the media were all over him. Anderson replica shirts were the biggest selling merchandise of the year, he had appeared on the back pages of newspapers since his debut and had appeared on a dozen television programs. All this attention and hype at such a young age had gone to his head and the once self deprecating and shy boy had now become a monster. His refusal to play for the under 21’s was his second act of self worship, proclaiming he was too good to be with the youngsters, his first misdemeanor had been stating he was looking to manufacture a move away from the club that made him, to a big team – somewhere “he deserves to be.”

Miguel sat in his hotel room, it was hot, a little too hot and the air conditioning wasn’t working. He needed to put a lid on this issue soon but didn’t know what to do. The team’s first match was only days away and there was unrest in the ranks.

19th?
Time for the Rockets to remind the World how dominant we once were!

If my opponent RP’s first they may:

Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but just to the extent of saying so and so was injured. I’ll determine the severity.
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes, but no more then 1 per game.
Godmod other events: TG your idea for approval first. No deaths or crazy sci-fi stuff.

**** COACHING STAFF ****

Name: Nelson Yaschter (Head Coach)
Age: 61
Club Team: Galaxia (Cafundeu)
Bio: Took over the head coaching position midway through qualifying for World Cup 45, and led the Rockets on one of their traditional second half charges, going 5-1-1 down the stretch. If only that was good enough. He did, however, lead the nation to the Cup of Harmony 37 title. They say he’s great with young players. So we’ll see if he can live up to that reputation here. This is his 2nd time leading the junior team.

Name: Michael McCafferty (Assistant Coach)
Age: 50
Club Team: Brighton Bulls
Bio: McCafferty has all the makings of being a long-time assistant of Yaschter, because Michael also tends to prefer younger players. With Brighton, he took a “B” League team, and made them to a mid-pack NPL team with younger players. Starting senior team defender in World Cup 40-42.

Name: Jeremy McAllister, Sr. (Assistant Coach)
Age: 43
Club Team: Sporting Lakeport (Dancougar)
Bio: The great J-Mac will certainly be more careful with the people he runs into for THIS Di Bradini Cup. There was still some backlash over this decision of Yaschter’s, but it’s really a no-brainer. Senior was part of our great teams in the 4th & 5th Cups, and is excited about going back to Starblaydia. He recently was named head coach of Sporting Lakeport in Dancougar.

*** STARTERS ***

GOALKEEPER:
Name: Stanley Salone
Position: GK
Age: 16
Jersey #: 1
Club Team: Rushville Monarchs
Bio: Salone signed a contract just recently with the Monarchs to be their starting goalkeeper as Rushville was a promoted “B” League team. It surprised a lot of people, because everyone across the Empire was aware of the great talent that this kid seemed to have, and bigger clubs like Dover City and Daytopia offered him deals, so signing with Rushville was a little surprising. Scouts are impressed first and foremost with his awareness, he plays like someone much older, and won’t often get beat up high unless you place it perfectly. Yaschter is impressed with his composure. Keep a look out for this kid, he may have big things in front of him.

DEFENDERS:
Name: Robert MacPherson
Position: LB
Age: 20
Jersey #: 28
Club Team: Centralia Cougars
Bio: Robert is the most physical of the starting defenders, so opponents will need to take that in mind. Having been groomed in the wonderful defensive system in Centralia, MacPherson has blossomed well. The one concern of Yaschter’s is that he can get carried away a little bit and get booked too often. Robert has promised that he will play with more composure, so we will see how this all turns out.

Name: Shawn O’Connell
Position: LCB
Age: 17
Jersey #: 4
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Bio: Named one of the NPL’s top rookies last season, O’Connell makes his first Di Bradini Cup appearance and is someone that many people feel will become a long-term fixture on Newmanistanian lineups for quite some time. That’s a lot of pressure for now, but it hasn’t bothered Shawn so far as he has become a very complete player for someone his age. He should only get better, and with that, comes the expectations. Shawn will benefit from playing beside Scottie Morton as well.

Name: Scottie Morton
Position: RCB
Age: 21
Jersey #: 5
Club Team: Tundra Falls Mariners
Bio: Scottie’s father Shawn played on the championship Di Bradini 4 team, though only had very limited senior team experience. Scottie has followed in his footsteps for a vastly improved Tundra Falls defense. He is tall and therefore able to win many headers, and is overall a nicely rounded player. The fact that he plays with O’Connell at the club level makes this a huge advantage for the Rockets as they are very used to each other, and will certainly help with O’Connell’s comfort level.

Name: Chris Poole
Position: RB
Age: 19
Jersey #: 6
Club Team: Hampton Bulldogs
Bio: Poole was given a big vote of confidence four years ago when he was chosen to be a starter in the last Di Bradini Cup. There, he had some great moments and then some other times where he played like a nervous 15-year old. In the last four years, we have seen Chris’ confidence rise, and we expect him now to be a true leader in the back end. He plays with great defensive awareness and a ton of passion. Not overpowering physically, but we have others who can do that.

MIDFIELDERS:
Name: Brian Prescott
Position: LM
Age: 18
Jersey #: 17
Club Team: Dover City Mountaineers
Bio: Now, Brian will get his chance to start. We have seen both Billy and Brittany follow father Brett’s footsteps, and now his last of three children will be able to show what he can do. If you’re familiar with this family in any way, then you know how Brian plays. If not, well, he’s an agitator. Tackles very hard, but usually clean (but pushing the limits of clean). He is assigned to your leading scorer and attempts to get in his/her head to throw them off their game. Does not get carded nearly half as much as the amount of cards he draws on opponents in retaliation.

Name: Scott Trainor
Position: CAM
Age: 18
Jersey #: 8
Club Team: Springfield Thoroughbreds
Bio: Scott has played in a strong offensive system with the Thoroughbreds that really benefitted his particular style of play. As you would expect from someone in this position, Trainor is an offensive weapon, who uses a good mix of speed, height, and overall athletic ability to get the job done. He is not a physical presence, but he doesn’t really need to be. Don’t mistake him for being a pushover, though. His progression made the Springfield decision to sell Nick Roberts to Port Royal (Dancougar) a little easier.

Name: Adam Benjamin
Position: CDM
Age: 21
Jersey #: 7
Club Team: Loudon Leopards
Bio: Adam is tall and aggressive. He’s not an agitator like Prescott, but is probably the midfielder that will be more likely to get booked amongst this group. Early in his career, he was prone to making too many risks, but has calmed that down some.

Name: Jessica McElroy
Position: RM
Age: 16
Jersey #: 15
Club Team: South Charlotte Condors
Bio: Jessica’s mother, Julie, played for some of our earlier World Cup teams, and that has opened the door for young Jessica who looks to be just as good of a midfielder. (Her father is unknown, though many are suspicious that it is former World Cup forward Shawn Drummond. Shawn has denied this, though the paternity tests have suggested he is.) Many people expect that she will become a far better player then her mother was.

STRIKERS:
Name: Jeremy McAllister, Jr. Nickname: simply, “Junior” (*** TEAM CAPTAIN ***)
Position: LS
Age: 18
Jersey #: 20
Club Team: Sporting Lakeport (Dancougar)
Bio: Little J-Mac is already making an impression. He did a good job starting here as well, but then ended up starting in the World Cup as well. At halfway of qualifying, when it was clear that Matthew Turner was struggling, Nelson Yaschter gave Junior a chance, and he played well. Now, Junior comes back to the Di Bradini Cup, where he looks to do what his father did in Starblaydia, and win the whole thing. It would be a great moment, and he continues to show that same swagger and flair that his dad did. Look for him to have a big tournament.

Name: Thomas Lipinski
Position: RS
Age: 18
Jersey #: 10
Club Team: Loudon Leopards
Bio: Thomas also appeared on the Di Bradini 9 roster, but in a role as a substitute and got very little playing time. Now he gets a great opportunity to play beside Junior, and he is excited about it. Certainly, playing up front with him is a pressure situation for anyone, but Thomas, who is very low key, seems to be the perfect player to do so at the junior level.

****SUBSTITUTES ****
Name: Anthony Baldwin
Position: GK
Age: 15
Jersey #: 21
Club Team: Johnsonville (B League)
Bio: Anthony is smart and a fundamentally sound goalkeeper, but still unknown in that he has only played in the B League, and a mid-table “B” team, at that. It’s gonna be a bit before we know if he will blossom into a great keeper or not, but Yaschter says the kid has all the ingredients.

Name: Christina Schubert
Position: CB
Age: 15
Jersey #: 3
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Bio: Hard-working defender and relies on her awareness. Conservative and consistent, but definitely not soft. She’ll get some time here, but her Di Bradini Cup to shine will probably come in the 11th version as opposed to this one.

Name: Brian Sweeney
Position: CB
Age: 16
Jersey #: 9
Club Team: Southport Tigers
Bio: Signing Schubert and Sweeney in back to back seasons makes the Tigers feel great about their defense for a long time coming. They have some pretty good veterans there as well. The fact that they both play for Southport is about all the have in common. Brian is an aggressive defender who loves to take chances as well as make runs up the field at will. Some feel that he will be used as a defensive midfielder when he gets older.

Name: Alex Coyle
Position: MID
Age: 17
Jersey #: 12
Club Team: Springfield Thoroughbreds
Bio: Another great weapon that Springfield has in the middle, Alex is a little more raw then Scott Trainor, so he is not ready to start right now. The Thoroughbreds would like to see him bulk up a little as well, and expect that he will. Likely to replace Trainor or McElroy.

Name: Andrew Carrion
Position: MID
Age: 16
Jersey #: 14
Club Team: Fairfield City Admirals
Bio: A steady two-way midfielder, and physical, making him the better option to replace either Prescott or Benjamin. Andrew has a powerful shot, and if he ever develops the accuracy to go with it, he could be a great goal scorer.

Name: Michael Bosler
Position: ST
Age: 17
Jersey #: 16
Club Team: Olympia Gladiators
Bio: Michael is everything you want in a forward. He’s smart, tall, and plays with great awareness. He’s tough and speedy, and has a good shot. This makes him a player to watch, as long as he can start doing all the above with consistency. It is that sporadic nature of his that keeps him behind Lipinski on the depth chart. He’ll be the first choice for a forward substitution, though.

Name: Peter Gregory
Position: ST
Age: 18
Jersey #: 11
Club Team: Thumbria Bay Sharks
Bio: Peter is a speedster and a playmaker, but needs to become a more well-rounded player before he gets a lot of playing time. It’s not certain that he will develop that, because reports out of Thumbria Bay have been that Gregory can be a bit lazy.

**** RESERVES ****
Name: Jeremy Paxton
Position: GK
Age: 18
Jersey #: 22
Club Team: Rockland (B League)
Bio: Another keeper that plays in the B League, although it is rumored that Dover City might be thinking about signing him. They have to sign someone, after all.

Name: Ken Bedwell
Position: CB
Age: 14
Jersey #: 2
Club Team: Steel City (B League) on loan from South Tier
Bio: Still very raw, obviously, but South Tier signed him as soon as he was old enough (14 is the minimum in Newmanistan to sign a contract), which the rest of the league certainly noticed, because South Tier is traditionally a conservative team (they still have yet to purchase an overseas player). So if the Seagulls did this, there might be something special about this kid. For Yaschter, this is more about giving him a taste of international life in preparation for Di Bradini 11.

Name: Josh Dineen
Position: MID
Age: 17
Jersey #: 13
Club Team: Rushville Monarchs
Bio: Listed as a midfielder, Josh will play any position except keeper as he is very versatile. He’s not flashy, and quite conservative, but at the end of the day, he’s also reliable.

Name: Eric Audette
Position: ST
Age: 15
Jersey #: 18
Club Team: Harrison (B League) on loan from Brighton
Bio: Known for some crazy celebrations after goals, as he grows up his coaches are trying to get him to ease up a little. He’s begun too a little bit, but still may get carried away sometimes. He won’t blow by defenders with speed, but he’s very creative in maneuvering around them.

THE ROCKET REPORT

LET’S GET BACK TO THE TOP

Starblaydia- It’s been an unpredictable last couple of years. Dancougar, of all teams, is the World Cup Champion. Dancougar?! Those penguin-worshiping robot fanatics now possess the World’s greatest two football trophies, the World Cup and the World Bowl, simultaneously. That is where Newmanistan’s greatest player of all-time is currently, as J-Mac was named the head coach of Sporting Lakeport, a team that’s become a lot like the old Putnam Lake Eagles. Star reliant, and not enough depth. Dancougar is very fortunate that they did not play us in the knockout stages. Ironically, they beat Daehanjeiguk in the final. It was the Han who did knock us out in the group stage. So yes, we finally got in a World Cup, now didn’t we? Yes, we did, and now there’s one more thing that needs to be resolved. The restoration of Newmanistanian Di Bradini Cup dominance.

There are those that will say that the three-day shutdown of the Rocket Report could hurt our team at the start of the group stage, but even if it does, a larger group stage will allow the team to rebound from a tough start, if that were to happen. It’s Di Bradini Cup time, the Cup that we used to dominate. The title in the fourth version and the final appearances in the fifth and the sixth. Heck, we didn’t even lose in the group stage until the eighth such Cup! It was fun. We were kings of the U-21 world, but that is really a distant memory. In the last two Di Bradini Cups, Newmanistan has failed to advance out of the group stage, and in the time before that, we only could get to the quarterfinal. The Rockets are no longer a power, and in fact, aren’t much of anything anymore at this level. This tournament is unpredictable, and anyone can win. There are several first time nations going in this Di Bradini Cup and they will all be using the Newmanistan model from the 4th Cup. Our debut and we won the whole damn thing. Queer Poco el Mono Ara and Sargossa are first time nations that we have heard reports from saying that these countries have very strong football programs, and are capable of doing just what we did approximately a quarter of a century ago.

Let’s take a look now at who the Rockets will be playing, in the order in which they will be playing them:

Daehanjeiguk: For a while, Rockets-Han was a damn good rivalry at the junior level. We knocked them out in Di Bradini 4 and they got sweet payback in the 5th Cup by beating us in the final. The most recent time any Rocket team took to the pitch, it was in the World Cup 46 group finale in which we were defeated by the Han 2-0. Jeremy McAllister, Jr was on that team, and of course the coaching staff was as well. Haven’t seen the Han roster quite yet to know if there is anyone on that team who played in the final against Dancougar, but this is a country that is hitting a good stride right now.

Kura-Pelland: They are the defending champion, we hear. Why then, does this team not scare us? This game represents the test for the Rockets to show if they can indeed get back to the top where they belong, or if nations like this Kura-Pelland are going to be making more of a permanent claim to the spot in the rankings that we once had.

Cassadaigua: Interesting matchup because NPL teams have done a lot of plucking Cassadagan juniors off their national roster and into our league. NPL teams know that a couple attractive yet very talented females on their team can sell more seats, so the scouts will be sure to watch this game. The Dagans are a decent team, and could have success in the group as well.

Lovisa: After our bye, we take on the Silent Assassins. At least here we will actually know who their players are. Lovisa does not have a real great track record in this Cup in comparison to their overall world ranking, so this is a game that we should get three points out of.

Albundania- Don’t know a whole lot about this country, but they have made one attempt to qualify for a World Cup previously, and that did not go over too well. One thing we do notice about them is that they have two people wearing #69 on their preliminary roster. This editor will refrain from making the comment that he really wants to type about that.

Queer Poco el Mono Ara- We want you to remember the name of this country. They are expected to a favorite in an incredibly strong Baptism of Fire 34 Field, and if there is a team that’s going to duplicate what we did in Di Bradini Cup 4, it will be these guys.

Postby Somewhereistonia » Fri Jun 05, 2009 3:47 pm

Vilba and Ergma have decided that those players in the full national side are to be kept out of the squad to allow the development of new talent and so giving the national side a lot more depth in years to come. This is the first time that Somewhereistonia has played in an U21 tournament and also the first time Vilba has managed a team (although he has a lot of experience as an assistant manager). There really is no way to know what to expect.

Nation: Somewhereistonia
Team Nickname: Eagles
Style Modifier: +3
Kit:
Image Keeper kit Image 2nd keeper kit
Image1st Kit Image2nd Kit Image3rd Kit

Manager: Priit Vilba (Previous assistant to Dinamo Karrakiv manager and assistant to Ergma in the full national squad).
Assistant Manager: Justinas Palchek (former Atlantas assistant, looking for a managing role after tournament is completed)
Head Physio: Gustav Tolving (Owner of a sports physio centre outside Qasarian, he has shown a brilliant ability to bring players back from injury sooner than expected, as well as managing to avoid most injuries altogether).

Team roster

First 11

1. Justinas Burman GK 19 [Atlantas] - A good keeper with an uncertain future internationally, it will be interesting to see how many times he will wear the #1 shirt for the full national side.
2. Oleksandr Kersys RB 21 [Skonto] - A big future player, and one of the few Skonto players that may be moving to a bigger club as Skonto struggle financially.
3. Kasper Rahnu LB 21 [FK Koltelcia] - Another player expected to be a long term national prospect, Rahnu is currently looking to find a new challenge overseas as Koltelcia struggle to retain their position.
4. Ulriks Hellat Def 18 [Qasarian Sparta] - The Sparta defender has become a great squad player and is hoping to succeed in the long term at the top club.
5. Jüri Pihl CB 19 [Qasarian Sparta] - Pihl is expected to work well with his club team mate at the back, with the pair having played most of the cup matches.
6. Toomas Uexküll DMF 21 [Ventspils Redwings] - A sturdy holding player, he has played a large part in Ventspils recent successes.
8. Justinas Kaiser MF 20 [Koltelcia] - Kaiser is generally viewed as Koltelcia's best player and a big transfer seems on the cards in the next few years.
7. Alexis Birsa SS/SMF 16 [Atlantas] - The player was snapped up by Atlantas from Hawks on his 16th birthday for an incredible $11m, showing just how much potential Birsa has.
11. Oleksandr Pääbo Wing 21 [Dinamo Karrakiv] - Whilst not achieving the success of Taska, Pääbo is a tough player to mark and definately deserves a place in the Di Bradini squad.
10. Yuri Alekna SS 21 [Skonto] - Narrowly losing out to a place in the BoF; Alekna hopes to become a strong squad player for the national side and possibly to move overseas as the exodus of Skonto players continues.
9. Ragnar Zaks CF 19 [FBK Karrakiv] - Zaks has somehow remained at FBK Karrakiv again this season and has become their most important player. Enough money and he will surely be on the move though.

Reserves/Substitutes

14. Kazys Xentolov Fwd 16 [Metalurgs]
12. Himans Celmiņš GK 18 [Metalurgs]
16. Jāzeps Vihrobs FB 20 [Metalurgs]

Postby Dancougar » Fri Jun 05, 2009 10:52 pm

A year removed from his World Cup triumph with the senior team, Shigeru Takeuchi returns to the bench in order to see what the next generation of Dancougar football is going to look like. The team will generally play an attack-minded, yet responsible 4-4-2 with a style modifier of +1.5. The probable starters are bolded, although if you RP before me, you're free to tinker with the lineup as you see fit. Permissions are yes to all except don't card/injure more than four of my players (unless you hit yourself with more than that, in which case, feel free to match), and don't kill anyone.

Age and class status is of the upcoming fall.

Coach

Juan Manuel Del Rios
The manager of SuperLiga side Mercadel S.C. has made a habit of nurturing young talent at the island club before selling them on for big money. With his experience of youth management Del Rios was seen as the natural choice for coach of the newly formed Under-21 side.

Starting Eleven
(Formation 5-3-2/3-5-2 depending on possession. Players listed from right to left)

GK: 1. Martin Tejera (20) - Estrella Torreón
Without doubt the best young keeper, some say best keeper outright, in the country. Unlucky to be on the losing side in the cup final in what was almost certainly his last game for Estrella. SuperLiga champions Ciudad Soluca are rumoured to have tabled a bid.

RWB: 2. Carlos Rodríguez (20) – Celta De Chala
Talented if a little injury prone, Rodríguez stood out in what was a dismal season for the Segunda Liga favourites.
RCB: 12. Jorge Alberto Carmona (19) – Moruga S.C.
Snapped up by the SuperLiga new boys at the beginning of the season and rarely looked out of place after the step up in division. Big, strong in the tackle and very quick but slightly ‘limited’ technically.
CB: 5. Carlos Candela (19) – Sporting Soluca
His club may have been relegated but the young centreback won many admirers through the season and is likely to be staying in the top flight.
LCB: 6. Ruben Sosa (18) – Dínamo Maturín
Came into the Dínamo side late on in the season and proved integral to their strong finish which resulted in a Globe Cup place.
LWB: 3. Marcos Díaz García (19) – Ciudad Soluca
A real star in the making. García played all along the back line last season for the champions but, although naturally right footed, has made the left side his own.

MC: 7. Marcos García Fernández (21) – Jaguarés
Quite simply without their little playmaker the club from the jungle wouldn’t be in the SuperLiga. He almost single handedly saved them two seasons ago and last year his uncanny ability to unlock any defence helped Jaguarés to midtable comfort.
DMC: 4. Francisco Lillo (21) – Mercadel S.C.
Del Rios is a big fan of the young midfield destroyer who came into the Islander’s side midway through the season and never left. Captain.
MC: 8. Iván Moreno (20) – Cartago Rojo
Moreno celebrates an excellent season in which he played a key role in getting Rojo back into the SuperLiga with a call-up to the Di Bradini squad.

SC: 9. Rubén Gala (18) – Dínamo Maturín
Talented striker who burst onto the scene at Juventudé before being snapped up for lots of cash by Dínamo to spearhead their quest for a top four finish. And he did just that.
SC: 10. Pedro Cortijo (19) - Dínamo Maturín
A highly rated young target man who only featured 13 times in the SuperLiga last season but still managed an impressive 8 goals.

Reserves
GK: 13. Javier Meléndez (21) – S.C. Goza
DL: 14. Javier Trigo (18) – Mercadel S.C.
DRC: 15. Damián Lozeno (18) – Ciudad Soluca
DC: 18. Manuel Panadero (21) – Petro Mercada
DMC: 19. David Sanz (18) - Defensor
MLC: 11. Francisco Cuesta (20) – Defensor
AMC: 16. Rubén Santos (21) – Defensor
AMRLC: 17. Javier Rico (18) – Rio Claro S.C.
AM/FC: 20. Manuel Parra (19) – Porto Alegro Azul
SC: 21. Daniel González Rodríguez (20) – Cartago Rojo

Candelaria And Marquez National Under-21 Football Squad for the Tenth Di Bradini Cup

Thar be a wiki

Squad:

Manager: Following in the now cavernous footprints of Lloyd Donnelly, Adam Williamson, Andy Le Lan, Jerry Huntick, Trevor Organ, Mark Baker (kinda), Matt Sampson, Jay Zabojnik and Jaon van Deene comes Luis Enrique Torrealba.

He may still look a sprightly young thing, but the former C&M holding midfielder is pushing into his fifties, with his managerial career currently bobbing along sideways at best following not entirely successful spells at the Alvery Blades and Cathedral City. Having been sacked from the Catedral job just a few weeks ago, Torrealba desperately needs a positive display here to resurrect his career – and play a small part in bucking the unwelcome trend that has seen his fellow former Candelariasian internationals fail miserably in the dugout at any level. If nothing else, he’s become the first of the 120 chaps to represent their country at senior level to take control of a team in blue and green… officially, at any rate.

To succeed however, all he really has to go is avoid going slightly deranged and run away to the jungle. Standards for the Small Blues really aren’t that high, these days…

As for his squad, Torrealba picks not a single player from his old Catedral team – a pretty damning indictment of his faith in them, though in truth midfielder Blagojce Makedonski really was the only vaguely plausible contenders in any case – and instead provides a 4-1-4-1 full of vaguely interesting players who’ll probably end up sitting on the bench watching teenage Queer Pocoans and Starblaydis and whatnot come CMSC XXXV. The first eleven, if anyone cares, will probably be summat in the general vicinity of John – Endekov, Davies, Ramm, Conceição Silva – Herbert, Nakatsuru, Hawker, Reuberson-Mohammed, Randjelovic (c) – Macanás. At least they’ve got sillier names, this time. That’s got to count for something.

Goalkeepers:

23. Karl John, Aged 21, Port of Clotaire
1. Raheem Kay, 21, Turks’ Club
22. William Romero Fernández, 19, Mercadel SC [Sargossa; on loan from Arrigo Portuguese]

Stone the crows, mother, we actually have some ‘keepers playing first-team football this time around! The No. 1 jersey goes to Raheem Kay, a stocky little stopper for the CMSC2 giants, though insiders believe that Karl John may well get the nod instead following a string of inspired performances for the PoC after inching out the veteran Amis Cressey from the starting XI. Romero looks like being the best prospect in the long-term, and may well get a run-out against Sargossa (funny, that), but his youthful enthusiasm to come for everything and act almost as a sweeper does him no favours at this level.

Defenders:

2. Jaon Endekov, 21, Caires Sports, Right-Back
12. William Vaughan, 21, Raynor City United [Valanora], Right-Back

No, we’ve no idea why there are so many people called Jaon in this country… just let it go. Endekov does rather seem to have been around forever, and as a fixture in a Caires Sports side currently excelling well beyond their means he’s all but a given to start here. Hardly quick, nor tall, but surprisingly good in the air for all that and strong in the tackle, he’s the out-and-out defensive choice who never-the-less brings a useful long punt to the table. As for Vaughan, he’s very much the unknown element, at least to those C&M supporters who expected Çaatay Menderes to get the nod, but his experience overseas for the EPL champions – albeit as a bench-warmer – will do this Turkish product the power of good.

20. Jacob Davies, 21, Marquez-Onwere, Centre-Back
6. Edwin Ramm, 21, Galactica [Pasarga], Centre-Back
5. Laurens Cassou, 20, Tenderville United [Nethertopia], Centre-Back

Torrealba, by all accounts, ummed and erred about his selections here for absolutely ages – with Willian Nenov of Blue-White Udenbergen, Robert Rodríguez of Mercadel SC, and any number of C&M-based players (including yet another Davies, this time at McDonald SC… where are they all coming from!?) all pencilled in at one time or another. MarquezOW talent Jacob is a given: all but certain, in most people’s view, to partner club team-mate Eric O’Brien internationally next year; he’s tall, pacey and comfortable on the ball, if a wee bit inclined to lapses in concentration. The stocky brain-power of Ramm, a two-time league winner in Pasarga should help him in that department. As for Cassou, he’s another unknown element – a fine header of the ball and tackler by all accounts, and apparently the best out-and-out defender of the three… though most pundits, to be honest, reckon the Marquezian-born Ratos Islander has only been called up to stop Nethertopia having him instead…

3. Marcelo Augusto Conceição Silva, 20, Candelaria-Allemali, Left-Back
13. David Lacombe, 20, Gamboa FC, Left-Back

They call him Marcelinho. Not David Lacombe, obviously, that’d be silly. The other one. A surprisingly sturdy bean-pole, Conceição Silva (the CAMAFA have no time for any of this nickname nonsense) is a worryingly jolly individual with blue and green streaks in his hair and piercings. Draw your own conclusions, frankly. As for Lacombe, he’s… dull, really.

Midfielders:

7. Guildford Herbert, 19, Ironside-Talinger, Right Midfielder
17. Xavier Tekeste, 19, Albrecht FC, Right Midfielder

Finding half-decent right-sided midfielders has clearly proven an absolute bugger for Torrealba, who’s dipped into the CMSC2 and the Scorpions bench to find this pair of muppets. Tekeste is skilful and pacey, apparently, and Herbert is a slower unit with a half-decent cross. They both have silly names.

16. Jordan Hawker, 21, KT Hotspur, Defensive Midfielder
4. Daniel Dos Santos, 20, Marquez-Onwere, Defensive Midfielder

Stubbornly mid-table though the Spur remain, the Cathedral City product Hawker continues to grow in stature with every passing match. Cultured and creative, undoubtedly capable of offering a genuine goal threat while equally adept at shielding the back four, Hawker is genuinely the real deal – and certainly a better prospect than Dos Santos, however much the larger lad has come into his own as a classy distributor this season.

8. Jesse Nakatsuru, 20, Albrecht FC, Attacking Midfielder
14. Jarrell Reuberson-Mohammed, 20, Caires Sports, Attacking Midfielder
15. Jhanna Young, 18, Green Island, Attacking Midfielder
18. Jerome Cotton, 21, Arrigo Portuguese, Attacking Midfielder

The fulcrum of the Small Blues’ hopes this year, Torrealba will need to make the best use possible of these four. Nakatsuru, as much as he can flit in-and-out of games and even strings thereof, is certainly the real deal – the pressure of providing both midfield creativity and a goal-scoring threat for the biggest club in the country will test any player, and for the most part the long-limbed Songstress native has passed with flying colours. Reuberson-Mohammed has found breaking past the Yaforites at Caires Sports rather more tricky, but he can play just about anywhere with shattering speed and no little skill. Box-to-box star Cotton brings a fine range of passing, while the youngest member of the squad – and only gurl in the twenty-three – could well be the best of the lot and idolises Espy va Drake. She’s nowhere near as good, of course, but that’s hardly a great slight in itself on the daughter of DBC2-winning captain Ben Young. Oh yes, we can do that generational thingy too!

11. Koviljko Randjelovic, 19, Arrigo Portuguese, Left Midfielder
21. Kayben Nixon, 21, Gamboa FC, Left Midfielder

When in doubt, steal a Squornshelan. Arriving on Marquez as a refugee aged just nine, Koviljko soon became the personal project of countryman and Portuguese coach Djabgor Cvecej. Still rather lightweight and, though technically gifted beyond all reason, his end product cannot yet be entirely relied upon but his starting place in the Portuguese starting XI has been a given for weeks. He’s also the captain, for some reason. Nixon meanwhile may prove the more robust player, with years of first-team experience for Ironside and Gamboa, but as a future prospect he’s utterly meh.

Forwards:

9. Gabriel Macanás, 20, Arrigo Portuguese
10. Luís Sáez, 20, Marquez-Onwere
22. Lawrence Hanson, 20, Alvery Blades

Almost as an afterthought, Torrealba names three of ‘em. At this rate, C&M sides of the future are going to have to play without strikers entirely, but the two Marquezians here are certainly talented – tricky little Sáez probably more so than fox-in-the-box Macanás, though the number nine is certainly the better fit for Torrealba’s team in Starblaydia. As for Hanson, he’s an awesome physical specimen who’s been slamming them in for the Blades in the CMSC2, but one really wouldn’t want to hazard a guess as to whether he can make it at this level, and he’s a surprise selection all things considered.

Peisandros U21 Football Squad

Well, here we are again. After a disappointing World Cup which saw the Sandrians disposed of once reaching the finals stage, there was a lot of soul searching. The national coach may still be axed, infact a decision is likely to be reached during this Di Bradini Cup. Anyway, here is the squad, which I might add, is very strong. Re: 10th Di Bradini Cup (RP, Rosters & Scores)

Postby Peisandros » Sat Jun 06, 2009 6:19 am

Confusion.

What on earth is going on in Starblaydia? Well apart from them not winning last years World Cup, they are hosting the 10th Di Bradini Cup. We know this because Peisandros has a team there. A pretty good one, infact. We finished third in the last installment, which was played in Valanora for some reason.

Anyway, back to this young persons football thing and Starblaydia, which appears to be a lovely country from what we can tell, seems to have forgotten who we are. Maybe it's because they've beaten us twice in mens football games and didn't bother to register us, but that can't be confirmed. Basically they may have forgotten we had a team turning up and decided not to draw us where we should have been. Mistake? Possibly. Probably. Actually, yes, it was. But anyway, conspiracy theories can go ahead. Especially because we were then placed in the same group.... Coincidence? Possibly. Probably. Well, yeah, that was a coincidence.

Well, the game has been played and won.. Wait, no, it's been played and drawn. A two all affair with plenty of excitement, which was a great way to open the cup for both teams. Peisandros will be looking towards the final, to push on from their great run last time, while Starblaydia are just a great footballing nation who do well at everything. Who knows what will happen next? U21 football is like unprotected sex with a prostitute -- it could be great fun, but the hangover could be itchy!! .... Ummm. Sorry about that.

Anyway, keep posted, I'll be reporting for most of the Cup, should be interesting!
