Amateur American Football League (Signups CLOSED)

This is my first NS Sports thread
I know it isn't normally used but for season 1 I will be using a dice to generate quarter by quarter results
Simply post a roster and say you'd like to compete and put team name
Also put stadium location, name and capacity
I will start when there are 10 teams or on October 25 whichever comes first

Current Teams:
Surrey Mustangs (United Horizon)
Old Crustvile Grinders (Sandwich Territories)
Pizza Sharks (Williamson)
Space Pirates (Silician)
Jacksonville Jaguars (Ack barnes)

The five threads on this are really not necessary, although I'm guessing that wasn't intentional.

Dice aren't a great way to generate results, try reading this thread and this wiki page first. You might also want to check out some information on scorinators here.

It's (usually) good to start things and try to get some new competitions going, but they generally need a bit more substance to them before becoming noticed by the community here.

I actually like the randomness of dice but may get a scorinator if not enough people are into it

Not a lot of people will be too keen on the dice. It leaves no room for transparency; how do we know you're not sitting over there rigging the dice? Not that anyone would ever really try that, but it's still the first thought. With a scorinator, we can tell FOR SURE that you're not over there making scores up.

EDIT: Plus, a die for American Football? What happens when you roll a 1? You can't score one point.

Randomness is actually an important part of a scorinator - and they're programmed to produce results suitable for a particular sport. For example, in American football, a scorinator might produce a result like 45-19 or 20-7, and so on. It's hard to do that with dice. The scorinators are also weighted in terms of a team's strength and style of play, which is also tricky to do with dice.

Basically, a dice-based tournament is never going to get off the ground here.

My plan is just to see how this goes and then get a scirinator if I don't get enough people
