Mari Carrera wrote:Now, we've all seen award shows. Award shows are pretty same-ish. Always the same bunch of people wearing tuxes, giving little glass prizes with little names and all that. I think we can do something different. Something Sunrisian.

Name's Mari Carrera from the MMC, the Mardi Music Channel, as I present you to one of the finest Award Shows in history. This. Is. Sunrise. All-Stars!

The show is hosted at a blooming night club known as The Boomhouse. The house is packed, but the main focus is at a caged futsal pitch as a commentary box looms near it. At last, there is a podium near a concert stage. Music blasts from audio boxes all over the venue though they soon stop as USIFC's president Jean Mulhouse stands at the podium.
Jean Mulhouse wrote:Before anything, I'd like to thank the Mardi Music Channel for accepting my offer to co-host this inaugural Sunrise All-Stars event. I'm proud of another fantastic season and would also like to congratulate the Neuville Scythers after their formidable run at the Globe Cup. Shame they couldn't win it, but that's already quite a lot. I hope the next season will be just as quality.
The Sunrise All-Stars event is a combination of good football with the usual dose of Sunrisian pop culture. Awards for last season will be given throughout the night, but the main attraction shall be the first ever Sunrise All-Stars 5 on 5 Tournament, 6 sides facing each other for the bragging rights. Hope you all enjoy.

Finally, the cameras point to the commentary box where two regular commentators of Sunrisian football find themselves sharing a rather unique feast.
Chris McNeill wrote:Chris McNeill here, thanking beforehand for ITV's permission for my participation here on the very first ever Sunrise All-Stars event. And to my side isn't my normal colleague, but rather-

Chris McNeill wrote:According to some Eurans on social media here on my notebook, it says you are truly a star... a Black Hole of talent, rather.
Val Kylx wrote:We all know my run on Honeybadgers was just a misfortune. It happens.
Chris McNeill wrote:Well, so, how do you feel about this event?
Val Kylx wrote:Excited. Gorgeous ladies, promised quality football and the fantastic food just make for a whopper combo.
Chris McNeill wrote:Speaking of football, the All-Star tournament deserves a bit more of explanation.
Val Kylx wrote:It's a 5 on 5 deal, pretty clean cut.
Chris McNeill wrote:Well, our tournament has the following rules: it's a Knock-out Tournament, four teams face themselves earlier with the two winners going for the next round, therefore facing either the Intergalactics or the Sunrisians.
Val Kylx wrote:Intergalactics? What is this?
Chris McNeill wrote:It's the International squad. Speaking of which, I believe we should discuss about the two teams that get a bye. First, the home town boys. The Sunrisians!

SUNRISIAN PROSPECT OF THE SEASON

Lassie Alcouin wrote:Thank you all! I'm really happy for my prize... And I swear, as soon as I finish school, I'll do my best to make all the nation enjoy my football at the Sunrisian Championship!

The camera pass around the people on The Boomhouse, until finally finding a rather relevant person: FIGHT! Dojo Championship popular middleweight Brett Dean. Visibly, he wore a black cap with the company's logo, a purple top under a fine black jacket, sitting with a couple of friends on a table sharing a fine looking Champagne bottle, entitled Charbonneaux from Kitsunia-Déesse. He flashed a smile, before throwing a punch to the air, possibly reminding the common MMA fan of his killer punches that laid Cha Mae Kwan and Evan Neville down on his two-nil career on the FIGHT! cage.

Afterwards, the camera focused on one of MMC's more questionable stars, former reality show hoss and Casanova wannabe Mackie K, with Daineri promising midfielder, currently at Carnival Samba, Mishaella Tianno.

Mackie K wrote:Eeeeh-yooo, Sunrise! Good ol' big dog Mackie K here with miss Mishaella Tianno, one of the regulars at Carnival Samba from up North!
Mishaella Tianno wrote:FORMER regulars, if you will, young man.
Mackie K wrote:Former? Already leaving the big party that is NSI?
Mishaella Tianno wrote:It's clear the team's interests on promoting a hometown flair of football instead of actually winning is dragging that team down and I no longer want any part on it. So I discussed with management and we're contacting the teams from my homeland Dainer for a trade of sorts.
Mackie K wrote:Yo, that sounds whack.
Mishaella Tianno wrote:I fail to understand what that word means, however let it be known that Carnival Samba is trading me over a Northern Sunrisian that currently attends at the Daineri Super League. If anything, both sides win.
Mackie K wrote:Aye, aye. Any last words for the public, girl?
Mishaella Tianno wrote:Let it be known that I leave Samba with pleasure towards my future. Sunrisian football has great teams that focus on winning but Carnival's major team simply isn't up to that sort of task and I'm tired and sick of this. Ciao.
Mackie K wrote:Hold on, girl! Get my number!

Val Kylx wrote:I certainly have to agree with Tianno. Carnival Samba's stance towards football is embarrassing, if not flat out enraging, at this day and age. Best wishes to Miss Tianno at her hunt for a proper, quality team.
Chris McNeill wrote:I don't agree very much with you two in the slightest. Carnival Samba's stance towards their roster is clearly based out of the valid number of quality footballers that came out from the island of Carnival.

Chris McNeill wrote:Honestly, I'd give more credit to Mrs. Nagatomo here, her style contributed buckets to future mainstays of the Unified Sunrisian team and many of the youth try to replicate her skills.

There are lots of doubts at Royal Jam about the quality of this young player and management was also rather worried about whether or not she'd take the sport seriously. Not that this event should be a certified test on what good Miss Swift Curse can bring to the field, but one can wonder how delightful it'd be for the lass to start her football career with a win over the Nekojin.
Val Kylx wrote:I think we're missing the point hard on this. Sure Crimson is focused, winning here matters for her, but the rest of the team is probably taking this as an extended vacation trip. Though sure, some of them might have it in them for a football career if they wish, Rawiri Puhipi certainly has the body to work as a defensive mid and I'm certain Kei Ishizuka can last as a defender, but I don't trust most of this team to do anything about it. Hell, I don't think Tallahassee Summers can even see anything under those hair bangs of his.
Chris McNeill wrote:According to our colleagues at Sports-Ultra-Plus who, aside of doing coverage of the Sunrise X-Series have an extensive look at the calendar of the extreme sports scene of the Sunrise Islands; Tallahassee's hair is hardly an obstacle to his perfect view of things.

That said, the Nekojin community aims for more, but has only dwindled to the point of a morale issue. The Friendly Cup disaster doesn't help matters much.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:The team's captain has to be Pippi Mangalonga of Unión Temuco fame, a Matthew Senators player at all times. Shame the team didn't go well on the Friendly Cup, the Sunrise Islands tend to do well when a Nekojin player is doing well.

Namine Nagatomo wrote:If that morale issue is real, then even more lays on the table for the Nekojins: a win against Team X-Treme means more than a mere friendly affair, but rather the real proof that the Nekojins still have talent that is overlooked by Sunrisian football, even with the likes of Chi-chan taking over the place.
Chris McNeill wrote:The complexity of Sunrise's youth football system does push said sort of issue a whole lot. I wouldn't be surprised if gems are missed every season because of it, though I do, in a way, believe that the teams are capable of maximizing their intakes and let it be known that no talent is being overlooked in purpose. It's just idiosyncratic.

Match 1 - Team X-Treme 3; Nekojins 0

Things started out with an upset: Team X-Treme played them out of the park.
Well... mostly LaRusso, Rawiri and Payne played them out of the park. Rawiri was a constant thorn at Xiki's side, not shying away from any tackle, noticeable giving his size and build advantages. Xiki was noticeably red faced at the end of the game for some reason she was against mentioning. LaRusso and Payne were certain. LaRusso's debut was impressive, specifically as she humiliated a veteran like Pippi Mangalonga with some rather difficult tricks, impressing the fans with a well placed shot to the top right of Forti's net. Denver Payne's collaboration efforts were noticeable, as she found herself often open for well-placed lobs from the actual future professional player. Eventually, the clock called it over.
The Nekojins failed to surpass their opponents at any moment and the score was justified.
1:21 - PAYNE (X-TREME)
1:45 - PAYNE (X-TREME)
3:47 - SWIFT CURSE (X-TREME)

COACH OF THE SEASON

Jazz legend Thomas Walters Jr. watched the rowdy crowd. He seemed rather eased even if he pretty much was an old man among what could almost fall as children.
Thomas Walters Jr. wrote:Hoo, boy. You kids really made a loud party... Almost unbearable for an old lug like myself.

The crowd fell on laughter.
Thomas Walters Jr. wrote:Well, it's clear I was called because you all needed someone like me to keep some peace on this. And just like this party, all teams need to have an old one to manage their energies. This award goes to the best manager of the season... Aurora Sylveon's Bob Lima!

The Southern Sunrisian left the table with his family, wiping tears as he arrived at the podium.
Thomas Walters Jr. wrote:Now, now, old man!
Bob Lima wrote:Hahaha! I'm quite surprised that you all voted on me... I'm just a Southern Sunrisian doing his best to help his home team... Thank you all for this prize. Hopefully, the Southern Sunrisian sides impress more often. Here's to another great season for Aurora!

Val Kylx wrote:Nobody expected the Sylveons to come triumphant from the Play-offs Final. A title much wanted back at Southern Sunrise and a proud exhibition from the capital's favorite team.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:Managers are a key part of a football team. A great manager can pull a fantastic run of an unexpected team. Such was the case with the Sylveons. I can only wonder what Lima would do with the Vaporeons back in the day. Y'know. A good manager.

The camera passes once again around the people on The Boomhouse, until finally finding another relevant Sunrisian personality: Lacrosse attacker Zajis Yutkris, born at Ontorisea, that was actually currently representing the Kelixsburg Argonauts, affiliates of Mardi's team, the Bunearies, and could be on the move to their main team. He certainly stood out from the crowd, smiling in a more simple costume unlike the more well-dressed folk.

Chris McNeill wrote:Clearly more of a testament to the lower leagues than anything else.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:To be fair, the Half-mon, much like the Nekojins, have a past of being overlooked by the home teams.
Chris McNeill wrote:Taking under consideration the bonus offered by the USIFC for native players, things will change, but for now...
Val Kylx wrote:Still, your nation won two titles. This shouldn't be a problem needing a bonus.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:Some of these names would probably benefit, mind you. I really like Rosenbloom's football and her young age might help things out.
Chris McNeill wrote:After playing a single season with the Jenna's Supermarket team from the All-Species league, she joined the Alfanhatan side on a rush and didn't turn her head back. Some would say it was a move out of fear, but the money was certainly better than what she got with her former team.
Val Kylx wrote:Trying to divert from what I said, about how these names came from out of nowhere, I think the best way to describe this team is "a gate to the future". Sunrisian football needs more Half-mons and if this team does well, we might start seeing that become a regular thing.
Chris McNeill wrote:And of course, we can't forget the experience of Celine Rayden and Tyler Mespirit, this team's two major names.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:Indeed. A far cry from "a bunch of nobodies out of the children's room", ain't that so, Kylx?
Val Kylx wrote:You know what I meant, Namine. Plus, they're facing the Rockers, not exactly the hardest task in town.

Val Kylx wrote:Nope. That's the true line-up of the Rockers. Or Mardi Music Channel Rockers, depending on how you read it.
Chris McNeill wrote:Former national team player Freddie Brother who, after the de-agement, became a musician... well, ironically, he ended up a football pitch.
Val Kylx wrote:Though you're not at fault if you're more familiar with Brother for his band with the Wayne sisters, native of Tivoli.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:The other players are, of course, regular musicians that took up the mantle of a footballer for a day.
Val Kylx wrote:Fantastic way to get to see your favorite footballers, I tell you.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:Fantastic way to face your favorite footballers sounds more like it.
Chris McNeill wrote:You did say talent come from weird places, Mrs. Namine.
Namine Nagatomo wrote:Indeed. And losing to these guys would be an embarrassment of massive levels for the Half-mon squadron.

Match 2 - Half-mons 8; Rockers 0

Freddie Brother's return to the concrete pitch was a far cry from what most expected. Freddie clearly wasn't going for a win, instead enjoying his return to the football field. Both of the Wayne sisters tried to cheer for him and the team but the Half-Mons ran over them, running up the score as much as they could. Rosenblooom made justice to Nagatomo's hopes as well, scoring three.
0:04 - ROSENBLOOM (HALF-MONS)

Namine Nagatomo wrote:I told you Rosenbloom was a tricky girl and she made the Rockers pay.
Val Kylx wrote:Again, the Rockers weren't a threat. Though they did dispatch them well.
Chris McNeill wrote:Well, to be fair...
Val Kylx wrote:Freddie played as well as an Apoxian striker.
