Netukai FC has enjoyed a great deal of success recently, going 2-0-1 in their last three matches. Defender Womo Kawaipani had this to say after the match: "We're really playing as a team right now. We've got great ball movement going on, and we're being very unselfish and just making the best decision for the team. We hope to do well here because we sure have built up to this."
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."

The Totai Osprey were taken almost entirely out of contention today. Captain Tuimo Matatai said, "It's been tough for us, but we've really gained a lot of experience with this tournament. That will help us down the road."
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."

SPORTS-talk radio:

The Jamil-sur-Mer Atlas Lions, after winning several tough matches, including a three to nil game against FC New Istanbull, have catapulted themselves into the top position for Division 1 of the Swiss League. The Lions's coach, Pierre Garçon, said today that he was 'cautious optimistic' with their current standing and does not wish to see any of his players "become sluggish with contentment". Sulamalik itself is very much in a state of cautious optimism, as it reasonably appears that the two greats of the Sula national football league will be playing against each other for the championship. Though both the Atlas Lions and Premiers coaches are quick to downplay their successes, citing the closeness in points to their respective rival divisional teams.

With the finish of play today, the fates of all three Vaian teams have been sealed.
Netukai FC will advance from Division 2. If they win and the Florentine Premiers lose, then Netukai will advance in first. If Netukai wins by more than 6 and the Premiers tie, then Netukai will also move ahead in first. In any other scenario, Netukai will be second.

The other two teams, Wokani and Totai, are both out of contention.

Thursday, September 20th - Third Place Match

Teams That Failed to Qualiy
Even if your team failed to qualify, by participating in this tournament they still received a complimentary bonus I'd like to give out. Over the course of the league, I charted wins and losses, as well as RP bonuses such as posts and rosters, in order to derive a coefficient for each team. These coefficients will, if this league is hosted again in the future, be automatically added to your team's starting value which will give them a sizable bonus (unless you have a 0 or negative coefficient, in which case nothing will be changed).

Below is all the coefficients of teams in the tournament. The four teams which have qualified still have matches to play, so after the finals I'll post their coefficient values as well.

Coefficients for Each Team:

Jamil-sur-Mer Atlast Lions (115 + future matches)
Twin Brooks Bulldogs (115 + future matches)
Basil AC (92)
Netukai FC (91 + future matches)
L'Ayun 110's (91)

City in lockdown: Football Final Incoming

Mayor Pierre Lefford has announced today the temporary enlistment of an estimated extra four hundred police officers, borrowed from neighbouring municipalities. The mayor's office has stated it is proactive step in deterring rioting. This action is to the surprise of no one, as the 2002 football riots (stemming from a 4-3 match between the Premiers and Atlas Lions ) had cost Jamil-sur-Mer a reported 2 million Francs in damages. The Mayor calls on Jamilers to excise common sense and to take the Championship match into perspective, saying "...In the end, no matter who gets the cup, Jamil-sur-Mer and Sulamalik have won."
