Requesting extension on sign-ups. This has been a very difficult week for me, and I wasn't able to reach this thread in time. For what it's worth I could have a roster in less than a half-hour.

Swiss National Team to Attend 2nd Ever Major International Competition
The FSS has put together a delegation of athletes who will represent our nation in what is the third ever internationally competition, and the first since the Baptism of Fire to be a major title.

The sports are all water themed, so athletes ranging from rowers to swimmers will be taking part. The exclusive rights to broadcast the event were quickly snatched up by BBC (Basil Broadcadting Company). One of the major executives was reported saying, "We're all going to be millionaires, boys; drinks are on me."

The delegation will be led by Aformer president James Hunt, now a coach and Playboy superstar. Says he, "We had loads of fun at our last event. It'll be a real ball!"

Though the team is new to international competition, they have high hopes. The nation wishes them well.

"Good evening, I'm Barry Norman. It's been quite some time, but we're back at the Water World Championships, still in lovely Civil Citizenry, but this time at the wonderful scenic venues of Blubay. The Fourth Water World Championships are an exciting time for Cameranians, who have missed them since our participation in the second games. This is a memorable experience for many, as our first appearance was when Camerania first made her way onto the international sports scene. Our first time here forged great memories, both in victory and defeat, through the efforts of all of our athletes. What is perhaps most memorable, is our two medals in women's Canoeing, Silver from Johanna Darsi in the Slalom K-1, and Bronze from Kirsten Hedge and Anna Vinlader in the FLatwater K-2 1000m. We hope to make many more memories this year, and bring home more medals. Until next times, I'm Barry Norman, keeping you posted.

Postby Maklohi Vai » Tue Aug 21, 2012 8:43 pm

Being an island nation, Maklohi Vai has high hopes for the Water World Championships. Vaian athletes are expected to to do best in the following categories: flatwater canoeing, derived from the ancient Polynesian seacraft that led to the founding of Maklohi Vai; 10m platform diving, which is close to cliff jumping on the island; team rowing, again playing off of the island's seafaring history; and long distance swimming, to simulate the most difficult swims Vaians have to make to get to nearby atolls or reefs. There are other athletes entered who do not have as much experience in their categories, but hope to continue Maklohi Vai's great water tradition. In fact, Vai means water or sea.
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."

Same here. I've been busy working on my house and with my job (thank God I'm getting a decent amount of hours now), and I could have a roster up in no time.

RENZYNISTAN SPORTS NEWS

Synchronized Swimming Team Gears up for Blubay.

Nationally Acclaimed Women’s Synchronized Swimming Team prepares to leave their native land to compete in the IV Water World Championships in Blubay, Civil Citizenry.

The team has won the gold medal in the recently concluded 2012 Renzynistan Aquatics Championships held in the tropical city of Gandynski in southern Renzynistan. The team also won the silver medal in the 2011 Renzynistan Aquatics Championships.
The team is composed of Natalya Saratova, Masha Lee, Svetlana Robayev, Elvira Kasyanoka, Maria Gramamova, Yana Mumaska, Maria Cruz, Mercedes Bensch and Aselina Klamberg.

Natalya Saratova and Masha Lee will compete in the Women’s Duet event.

In a recent interview with Natalya Saratova she said the “We worked and trained so hard for this competition. We really have high hopes in winning this competition”.
Natalya, who hails from the country’s capital, Salevik, has been trained since the age of 4. Her father, a police, taught her how to swim and her mother, a school teacher who saw her daughter’s potentials, enrolled her in the Renzynistan Sports School. At the age of 9, she can perform the basic moves for synchronized swimming and there she meets her best friend and now Duet Partner, Masha Lee, who came from the mining city of Renziningrad. The two of them trained until they caught the attention of their now coach Svetlana Karabova. Svetlana was awed by the two’s performance and from then on she trained the two and the other 7 members of the team.

The team is coached by Svetlana Karabova, also a former synchronized swimmer.

Union Isle makes it's debut at the Water World Championships

Union Isle's national Olympic committee sent the water-fairing contestants to Civil Citzenry, where they will compete in their third international competition, following the Union Isle Medieval Arts Cup and the Baptism of Fire. Being a island, Union Isle is well practised in these sports and is expected to return home with a large number of golds, especially in the Men's Canoeing and Water Polo categories. We interviewed Taro Hachirou of the Men's Canoeing team and he had this to say,
"Ai, I've been rowing since I was a little kid, so to be given this opportunity is huge and I'm determined to bring home a Gold Medal."

Live Coverage will be on the official UIBC (Union Isle Broadcasting Corporation) Water World channels, as well as receiving less-frequent live coverage on the main UIBC channel.

DETANTAN ATHLETES MAKE HISTORY

Detanto will be sending its first athletes to international competition this week, as a delegation of 8 athletes make their way to Civil Citizenry for the Fourth World Water Championships.

The 8 athletes will be participating in 3 sports: canoeing, diving, and swimming. Detanto's two stars: Louis Gannett, the flag bearer, and Samantha Yaris, are swimmers. Gannett will race in the 100 and 200m Freestyle, while Yaris will race in the 100m Freestyle, albeit the women's competition.

At a news conference held yesterday, Gannett, a native of Brecken, a small town of 2,500 people 20 miles north of Callenton, said that he was thrilled to be given the opportunity.

"It is such a big deal. I am the first flag bearer at an international competition for the Republic of Detanto. I am still pinching myself."

The first test for Prusai's watersports' athletes

After a week of national eliminations of watersports, Prusai has chosen it's representants for the Water World Championships, organized in Civil Citizenry.

There are 96 entries of Prusai's athletes/teams. Erman Tailors will be honoured to bear our flag during the opening ceremony. He's the first Prussian athlete who began Men's Synchronized Swimming. That was for sure very curageous of him, as this sport is concerned to be a female sport by the majority.

Do we count on medals? Of course! Maybe not a whole bus of them, but we have some great athletes participating in Sailing or Canoeing. We hope to hear our national anthem at least once. Let the show begin!

Vekaiyu Ready to Continue Dominance
Reporting for V3 News Services, Rin Slakori

BLUBAY - Coming off an impressive performance at the Seventh Summer Olympics in Emberton, Krytenia, Vekaiyu sends out a re-vamped crowd of athletes to compete in the Forth Water World Championships. Vekaiyu is quite used to the competition experienced in these games, as they currently hold the number one ranking the overall medal standings and won the last competition last year. "We're confident we can carry on our past success into this new era of competition," Vekaiyun Olympic Committee (VOC) secretary Seri Livinostre told V3 News earlier this morning. "We have made some key changes, mostly to scope out our other talent in preparation of future Olympics."

The diving team, which had been disappointing in Emberton, was given a complete make over, as practically everyone save silver medalist Sisani Noverlu was changed out for other talent. Fear not, fans of other divers. The VOC has stressed that this move is merely exploratory and current divers "are not in any present danger of losing their placement in the Eighth Summer Games." Don't tell that to the new competition, however. "It is hard, hard to crack the Vekaiyun Olympic team in aquatics," diver Todd Lamastro informed the media. "You pretty much have to wait for someone to retire or really mess up just to have a potential shot at making it. I'm taking any chance I get seriously, no matter how willing Vekaiyu is willing to change out slots. I'm glad to be here." Lamastro will team up with Seri Liskovyay in the Men's Synchronized 10m Platform, and may be ready to compete for a medal in the event.

The swimming events look fairly unchanged from the Olympic roster, save for a group of younger swimmers who will look to take advantage of the expanded rosters allowed in these championships. The VOC released a statement on the ages of the new competitors, explaining they range anywhere "from ten to twelve years old". The VOC does not believe this to be an issue, however, as there is no agreed set age limit on the competitors. "We are looking for them to gain experience," VOC spokesperson Reko Hurvestru explained to V3 in a television special centered around the younger talent here. "Maybe in a few years we will see them compete in the Olympics."

"I am a little nervous but I am focused," Xa Iylakoviyey told reporters in English. "It would be nice if I could do well, but I know I am here to accomplish my own goals."

The younger athletes are not expected to win any medals, but the experience they gain from participating in these events could be valuable later on. For the older swimmers, however, this is old hat. "I'm looking forward to this," swimmer Ileena Useli told V3 Media this morning. Useli won her first Olympic medal - a gold - this year in the Women's 50m Freestyle event in Emberton. "I'd like to be able to mentor the newer folks, too. If they can learn a little from us, it'll be all the more easier for Vekaiyu to keep doing well in future events."

Vekaiyu's hunger for swimming events is well-known. The nation finished second in the Seventh Summer Games - only host nation Krytenia could outmatch them. Despite scuffling in the Sixth Summer games, the nation seems poised to dominate once again in swimming events.

V3 will post updates regarding any scores or placements as they come through.
