There is also a third kit, which is mostly gold, if neither of these is suitable.

Firstly, the NSWiki page is not complete, but still worth a look...

It's important to note that the team itself generally doesn't consciously defend. They press high up the pitch though and try to win the ball back as quickly as possible.

They will slow down when ahead later in the game, but only so they don't unnecessarily provide opportunities to lose possession and/or concede. This doesn't mean they wont take the opportunity to score if it presents itself, though...

Set piece preferences (in order):
Corner kick takers: Whichever wingers are on the pitch
Penalty takers: Connor McCarthy, Cesare Valenti
Free kick takers: Ana Menendez, Gilberto Cuellar, Roque Urbina
Long free kicks: Arsenio Santana, Ana Menendez

You don't have to stick to that, though. It just fits in better with the way I intend to RP my team (when I can).
Generally the team will focus on Menendez creating from deep centre, and will have a tendency toward attacking down the left, with goals coming at the back post (right wing). McLean will drop into midfield more than attack the box, so he won't score many... while Richards is an out-and-out predatory striker who will score for fun.

My RP Permissions are pretty chill to be honest.
Pretty much anything goes, I only ask that you let me decide the severity of any injuries you decide to RP for me, please.
Send my players off if you must -- if its a player I really didn't wanna lose for the next game, I'll RP an appeal or something.
Oh and at the risk of sounding a bit "RAWR" ... do not kill any of my players or coaching staff (unless I say go ahead via TG).
Killing fans is okay though. Go nuts with that if you like.

Most likely to...
Score a goal: Cesare Valenti or Dean Richards
Win a free kick: Gilberto Cuellar or Felix McLean
Take (and score) that free kick: Gilberto Cuellar or Ana Menendez
Win a penalty: Gilberto Cuellar or Dean Richards
Take (and score) that penalty: Connor McCarthy or Dean Richards
Miss a penalty: Roque Urbina
Score a header off a set piece: Connor McCarthy
Score an own goal: Connor McCarthy
Hack an opponent down: Renato Negro
Lose their head and get sent off: Sean McCarthy or Tomas Urena
Commit a professional foul: Arsenio Santana or Tomas Urena
Argue with the referee: Sean McCarthy
"Disappear" during a match: Roque Urbina
"Put in a shift": Azarai Robinson or Tobias Carter
Have an elaborate goal celebration planned out: Alessandro Silvestri
Get caught stumbling out of a nightclub: Tobias Carter
Do charity work: Ana Menendez
Illicit marriage proposals from fans: Gilberto Cuellar or Tara Perry

Something that is important to know is that football isnt the number on sport in Osarius. Its second, to GraviBall.
Footballers are loved if they make tough tackles -- case in point, Connor McCarthy; and before him, Georgina Carsley -- because the combative nature of the game is what the fans like. Very passionate, are Osarian fans, you see.
Sooo... basically, if you're not scoring goals or making crunching tackles, the fans aren't impressed. That goes for opponents too... Osarian fans always appreciate a good tackle, so they will even applaud opposition players at times (although they will boo their goals, obvs).

From time to time I'll make reference to the area a player is from, and when I do, I will try to add an OOC note to explain what it means, because different regions of Osarius have almost entirely different cultures. For example, Tubrissian people's habits and sayings are heavily based on Phoenician/Carthaginian culture and religious beliefs.

Manager: Amandeep Sahota
After leading Hastmead Diamante from the Royal League to the King's League title, on the backs of young players and an adventurous attacking philosophy, Amandeep Sahota effectively made himself one of the most highly regarded coaches in Osarian football history. His staunch attitude toward his personal coaching philosophy earned him a lot of critics at Hastmead at times, but they did work to a degree. His propensity for attacking football will excite the fans, and though he isn't as cerebral as his predecessor, his raw enthusiasm might be infectious, reigniting a flame many fear is dying among the Osarian fanbase. Sahota's tendency toward having his team "playing from the back" falls in line with Montblanc's foundations, and means that the team will have to make little adjustment to carry out his plans. Expect to see a lot more emphasis placed on one of the central "holding" midfielders, though. Sahota tends to deploy one as a deep-lying playmaker, forgoing the presence of a traditional playmaker in the Alessandro di Corradi mould a lot of the time. He also has a great love of wide forwards and wingers, as he prefers a flexible frontline capable of attacking from all sides.

Assistant Manager: Ishmael Walker
Though many in Osarius baulked at the idea, Walker has done enough in his short career to impress Amandeep Sahota, who specifically requested his assistance. Walker's ill-fated tenure in charge of the Flying Sparks -- who had carved out a fairly strong reputation under Alain Montblanc -- was heavily criticised, perhaps unfairly. Sahota however, acknowledges Walker's work behind the scenes at the National Academy, and feels that Walker's skill set may simply not be suited to the spotlight of a managerial role.

Coaches: Maurice Simmons, Jeffrey Allen, Gerald Cole
Simmons, Allen and Cole are all highly-regarded coaches within Osarian football, who attained their Professional Coaching licenses at the same time as previous manager Alain Montblanc. Sahota worked alongside them at the Olympics a while back, and has a good working relationship with all three. They all offer traits often cited as being required in elite coaches, and enjoy a strong rapport with the players, which has contributed heavily to Sahota's decision to retain their services.

Specialist Coaches: Onyibo Oduoza (goalkeeping), Claudio Traga (fitness)
Oduoza once trained under the now-legendary Enzo Corradini at Hollybrent, and is credited with turning Orlando Florian into the legendary keeper he became. A cerebral man, Oduoza sometimes employs strange methods to bring out the best in his charges, and to develop vital skills. Few can argue with his results, however. Traga, on the other hand, is perhaps best known among sports fans back home for his past career as a Boxer. Upon retirement, Traga's love of sport led him to study sports science at Utica University, where he learnt to combine his boxing experience with science know-how to develop fitness regimes for professional sportsmen (and women). His system, The Lightstrike Method, is used in most professional sports clubs in Osarius as a major part of training, particularly during the off-season.

Medical Staff: Daniel Chambers (physiotherapist), Dr. Sarah Bocchetti (team doctor)
Chambers and Bocchetti are also old friends of the former manager, Benedict di Corradi, but their stock within the OFA is high. Both have excellent reputations among the players, too, making them invaluable members of the backroom staff.

Robert Mindy did not particularly enjoy his post as head of the National Judicial Committee of Kiryu-shi, although he took it seriously. He was not the cleverest man, but he was earnest, diligent, and fairly honest. And he had a fairly good sense of whether any other given person shared those qualities. His tenure, if not for this case, would have gone in the records as a job well done under somewhat difficult circumstances, an overall positive achievement that would only be demonized by ideologues and idealists, with neither group being particularly sympathetic towards Mindy’s centrist, pragmatic leanings.

This case, however, would reach a far broader audience than most cases, ever. And without a doubt, Mindy’s conduct during this case would cloud both popular and academic perceptions of his tenure, a fact that he was acutely aware of. His inclination, therefore, was to play things safe. Let both sides say whatever they wanted, don’t increase the role of the Committee in framing the narratives that the prosecution and defense wanted to lay out. Keeping this in mind, he officially ended the recess, and called upon the suspect to lay out his defense.

“I will prove to the court, the National Judicial Committee, and the people of this country that I am in no way guilty of criminal terrorism in any degree. In order to do so I will prove that the charges laid against me rely on a false premise.

“It is true that my interest in the sport of football is recent. I came upon the sport after reading about some level of controversy in the national media recently, and decided that it would be a fun way to pass some of my free time. I am extremely passionate about my hobbies, and I decided that this hobby of mine would be worth learning about. I knew that I would never be able to play football at a high level, but I sought to understand it, to know its appeal as well as to know its power and potential. I am a great believer in culture as a unifying force for peoples of a nation, and I was curious about the role of football in national culture. So it seemed obvious to start with the biggest international tournament I could identify at this time; the Atlantian Oceania Confederation of Association Football Cup.

“Of course, every knows how that tournament ended up, and everyone now has realized the repercussions of the tournament on Kiryu-shi football in general. But the aftermath of the tournament is not what I came here to discuss.”

Mindy quickly glanced over to the prosecution table, if there was any moment for an objection, it would be now. He knew as well as any that the aftermath of the AOCAF was exactly what was being discussed, and that any information that would be considered tangental could be barred from this testimony. But he also knew that the chief prosecutor respected Mindy, and that the chief prosecutor knew that Mindy wanted a relatively open trial. And, to be honest, the suspect was not going to win much sympathy if people thought that he was wasting their time and energy. The prosecution didn’t say a word, and Mindy let the testimony continue.

“In order to address the implication of my fanaticism over the sport of football, I will lay out what I did and when, the reasons behind what I did, and their possible repercussions. I will be thorough, detailed, and honest.

“The first match day of the AOCAF was when my hobby, as it were, became a passion. The first match that I watched was Kiryu-shi’s opener against the New Montreal States, the favorite of group A, a team who was ranked tenth in the region. It’s difficult to remember now, but the media attention before the tournament seemed to indicate that they would cruise to a birth in the knock-out stages of the tournament, and were more or less assured of knocking Kiryu-shi off-kilter from the first match. And I sat down in front of my television, alone but for my dinner, to watch what I thought would be the complete annihilation of Kiryu-shi’s national football team. Since then, I’ve gained an appreciation for upsets, for tightly contested matches that hinged on a few key moments, of better teams losing and lesser teams winning. But at the time, I assumed that with the strength of the New Montreal States, Kiryu-shi had no chance. And with the New Montreal States being one of the closest countries to Kiryu-shi geographically, I was interested in seeing something of their culture, of their traditions.

“The match, for those who do not recall, was more or less the opposite from what I assumed. Even to my inadequately trained eyes, I could tell that Kiryu-shi was dominant from the get-go. Of course, this was helped by the fact that the New Montreal States team seemed to consist entirely of disappointed looking gentlemanly-types standing around mumbling about not being selected to go to the Dreamed Realms, or something to that effect. This was certainly not the squad I was expected, having read about their success in the World Cup, nearly making it out of the group stage in The Baggage Islands less than four years ago. That was a team that went undefeated through their World Cup Qualifications, a team that should have easily handled Kiryu-shi. And even though the Paladins lacked a true striker, being shut out was simply not their style. But on that day, that was all they managed.

“As I wolfed down my near-hour-long meal of beans and gravy, I watched Kiryu-shi completely devastate the monocled flock of midfielders trying to compete on the football pitch. Time and time again, Kiryu-shi defenders, spearheaded by the seemingly omnipresent Will Feingold and the aggressively and terrifyingly attractive Olive Ferguson caused the Paladins to “tut-tut” angrily and stalk about with haughty expressions. These were not, obviously, substandard gentlemen, as the New Montreal States had effectively demonstrated their superior superiority during a recent international tournament, but they were not quite up to the footballing standard, as it seemed.

“After a scoreless first half, which I capped off with several healthy servings of banana-asparagus iced cream, the tension was cut by a barrage of Kiryu-shi goals to begin the second half, including two-near goals that were called back due to offsides. Particularly successful was Samantha DeCastro, who demonstrated incredible athleticism en route to two goals within a six minute span, with a left-footed volley from some distance followed by a diving header off of a hard-hit cross. Both goals were gorgeous, to my eye, and I was positively hooked. I was, simply, a man with a passion. As Kiryu-shi closed out the match with ease, helped by a third goal by the effective but in no way extraordinary Connor Boyle, I was already looking into how I could watch the other games of the tournament, and after the match ended, I immediately began to watch the previously played games from other groups across the nations of Vilita and Turori.

“Although I was somewhat shocked that there was no stadium quite as grand as the Tivali Ring Stadium that hosted the first football match I had ever seen, I found myself addicted. I watched what I could of all of the other games played that week, and watched the highlights of all the others, as they were available. The other match from Group A featured Falcania, a team with which you are no doubt aware of now, but terrified me then. They bested Scandonia in what can only be described as a match that Falcania fought against themselves, a potent example of the strength of that squad. Outside of the group, Carpathia and Ruthenia looked terrifyingly dominant, as did Andossa Se Mitrin Vega, the team I immediately pegged to be the winners of the tournament. This was, of course, still before I had really internalized the unpredictability of football…

“And before I knew it, a week had passed, and I was ready to watch the next round of matches, kicked off, of course, by Kiryu-shi’s performance against the aforementioned Scandonia squad…”

Robert Mindy stopped the suspect right there, citing the apparent need for all involved parties to take down notes and generally collect themselves. They had not been prepared for such a wordy and detailed description of an event that had transpired long ago, the watching of a single week’s worth of football. This approach seemed highly unorthodox to say the least, but Mindy was prepared to go with the suspect wherever he was planning on taking them. If any one thing could be said, it would be that this suspect knew an inordinate amount of information, and definitely had some sort of idea of what he wanted to do. Of course, unless Mindy was missing something, he was also pretty sure that the suspect’s intentions were not at all understood by anyone on the Judicial Committee.

Mindy wiped the sweat off of his furrowed brow, and allowed the suspect to continue…

Six months on from the 'Wight Incident', Sue Dysos layed in her bed in her unkempt Kjeligsted apartment. The television was switched off - it had been switched off since the third Starblaydian goal rippled the back of the Audioslavian net. Hammered by the Purple Peril. Il Viola-Vile. What was worse, arguably, was that Sue couldn't even muster the amount of disgust needed for such a situation. She was in the thrall of the disease, the wave of second-tier emotions that had cascaded over Kjeligsted after the 'Wight Incident' was still deeply troubling its victims, and Sue couldn't shake off the vicious sense of ennui that enveloped her.

The phone rang. She could barely be bothered to answer it.

"You'll never guess what's happened" came the voice on the phone.

---

The annals of the history of the Atlantian Ocenian isle of 'Kjeligsted' are lost to time, but historians have been able to ascertain one thing:

There was a war here.

No one is sure exactly when this war happened, but it was at a time when landmines were in use as weapons, because a beach and a mass of farmland on the north-eastern cape of Kjeligsted is covered in them. A five-mile square exclusion zone, a minefield, impossible to navigate by humans. The section of Kjeligsted hasn't been touched since Audioslavian settlers made it to the island, with the exception of one solitary occasion involving an illiterate man, an un-read 'danger' sign and an effort by the council to remove a fifty-yard wide radius of mucky red viscera.

The minefield is, however, inhabited. Penguins. A few thousand of them at least. Undeterred by the relatively warm climate, the penguins of Kjeligsted thrive on the so-called deathtrap, not heavy enough to set off the underground booby-traps and thriving in the lack of human encroachment on the area.

The penguins grew numerous, and fat, and happy.

And cocky.

Penguins aren't supposed to have a great deal of intelligence, but Kjeligsted penguins are, apparently, different. Before long, the penguins worked out that they could walk the minefield without a worry, but humans could not.

So what happened when the penguins became too numerous for their minefield?

They expanded it.

Now, don't get ahead of yourself. Penguins can't fabricate working claymores from seaweed, stones and bird-eggs - if they could then we'd all be dead - but they can, after a few minutes digging, pick up existing landmines and, with a flick of their penguin necks, toss them a few yards in front of them.

Bob, take landmine in beak, stand up with mine dangling from beak, turn to the left slowly, flick head to the right while letting go of mine, waddle over to mine, repeat.

Their territory was expanding.

The newly placed mines had killed two ramblers already, one of whom was supposedly pointing out the penguin/human border to a friend before walking forward, standing on an upside-down mine, frowning, picking it up and muttering "oh f.." before quickly scattering himself over a fifty yard radius.

The penguins were attacking. The government had no idea what to do

---

"OK" said Sue, after the explanation, "that's interesting and all but... why are you telling me"
"You've been under the weather recently, haven't you?" came the voice at the end of the phone, that of Brian, her boss.
"Yea" said Sue, not even bothering with the 'h' at the end.
"Well, so have the penguins. That haze of second-tier emotions affected animal-kind too. Remember the mole with altitude sickness?
"The mole that made a molehill at the top of an actual hill and vigorously defended it from ramblers?"
"Yeah, that. Classic case of delusional hubris"
"What happened to it?"
"It was eaten by a dragon"
"A what?"
"Yeah a... no.. wait... it was hit with a spade by an otherwise innocuous looking turnip"
"What? Oh... wait... Brian... I think you might be suffering from anxiety about your lack of personality. You're over-embellishing your stories again"
"Oh.. yeah. I didn't do that before the 'incident' did I?"
"Don't think so. I never listened"
"Hmm. Anyway. So our minefield-dwelling Kjeligsted Penguins have been affected by the disease of second-tier emotions, and appear to have borne the brunt of an increasing weight of ennui, much like yourself, Sue. The thing is..."
"An 'emotional weight' of ennui?"
"...yeah. It turns out, when you add the emotional weight of their nonplussed dissatisfaction with life, coupled with their physical weight, was enough for them to overcome the weight-threshold of the mines underfoot that previously guaranteed their survival....
"Oh god"
"Carnage. Five square miles of carnage. As far as we can tell that entire section of Kjeligsted is covered with a thin veneer of penguin"
"Well, I guess we finally know the answer to the eternal question"
"Which is?"
"What's black and white and red all over?"

Henning scores two but Falcania prevail in AOCAF opener
Scandonian striker pulls country level twice, albeit in vain

For Christian Henning, it was a landmark performance that displayed his emerging talents as a striker and a representative of the game of football in Scandonia, which appears primed for a golden age similar to that enjoyed in recent years by our neighbours to the south.

For the rest of the national team, it was an admittedly disappointing result against a respectable opponent that sets the stage for two must-win matches to close out the group stage at AOCAF Cup 36.

Three different Falcanian players found the back of the net en route to a close-fought 3-2 victory over the Lions on matchday one.

There is no longer a margin for error at this tournament. If Scandonia hope to advance to the knockout stage to at least match their best-ever showing of two appearances in the round of sixteen, they will undoubtedly need to earn the full six points from the upcoming ties against Kiryu-shi and New Montreal States.

Henning was able to pull Scandonia level on two separate occasions during the opening match against Falcania. After a 14th-minute goal from Colan Battes, the young Ravens Poortendam striker calmly collected a long forward pass from Maarten van Aberden deep in the Lions' half. Rarnin Harst edged forward to cut off Henning's angle, but he was foiled by a leftward flick. Henning caught up to his own volley and knocked the ball into the net with a wrong-footed tap off the inside of his cleat.

The sides went into half-time level at 1-1, followed by a stunning Falcanian goal from the confident boot of midfielder Qail Protoniro just moments into the latter half of the match. Henning once again played reliever for the Lions and drew Scandonia back to even terms with a second strike to the heart of the net. His 66th-minute tally came off a clinical header during the Scandonian side's fourth corner.

Though the Lions may have been content to play to a draw and earn the single point, their opponents had other ideas. Since the announcement of the group draw a few weeks back, the Falcons have had very clear aspirations to cleanly sweep Group A, and see it as a group they can (and, admittedly, should) win.

Scandonia are merely aiming to qualify in the second spot. However, they would have placed themselves in a much better position to do this had they salvaged that single point and not conceded a 87th-minute goal to Falcania by way of Danniol Parkar.

With one match down and no points on the table to show for a satisfactory Scandonian effort, there is no longer any room to make mistakes. As the Lions' coach Martin Saunders told TV6 after the match, it's come down to "put up or shut up" for the young Lions.

Match summary

Falcania 3 : 2 Scandonia
Battes 14', Protoniro 46', Parkar 87' : Henning 20', 66'

Shots 10 : 7
On target 4 : 5
Possession 57 : 43

Starblaydi Youth Defeat Starting Sea Dragons

Sport Editor's Comment wrote:by Janiik Rohironn
Where do we lay the credit for
such an amazing Starblaydi team?
Fr. Juan has obviously trained and
prepared these youngsters to the
best of his substantial ability, but
the behind-the-scenes involvement
cannot be overlooked. Rumours
point to ex-international captain
and brother of the Lord-Protector
Julius Starblayde as the real key
to youth development in the nation.
Indeed, it is being suggested that
the success of the Starblaydi team
so far in AOCAF36 is justificaton
for his policies, meaning he could
well be handed control of the SFA
to promote his ideas and skills
yet further.
Two nations, linked by history, language and beliefs in more ways than one would notice. A shared desire of sporting competition that stretches back as long as the two have competed. However they are two nations on vastly different paths. One team is enjoying its greatest period of success, being ranked 5th in the world and hosting the next World Cup in conjunction with another football legend - Valanora. The other is ranked just shy of 150th and beginning the long ascent back to the top - if that is indeed possible - of the mountain as they have twice before.

With no World Cup Qualifiers to look forward to, only the endless rounds of warm-up friendlies, Kymykera Wu’eres' has decided to bring the real Andossa Se Mitrin Vega side to the 36th AOCAF Cup. No second-string or back-up players here, this is the team that is looking to go on and win the World Cup itself on home soil. After this match, however, one can be asking questions on the world rankings of both these teams, never mind regional rankings. 2nd in the Region and 5th in the World sending their Starting XI, versus 25th in the Region and 148th in the World sending their Under-21 side because they have no experienced international under the age of 35, also missing their first-choice striker. Who would you expect to emerge victorious on neutral soil? The answer is obvious on paper, but games are not played on paper.

With Joe Copeland not risked for this match after the crunching tackle by Audioslavia's Andre-Luis Partico in the previous game, two-goal super-sub Lena Kochanska was given the nod to start alongside Dylan Beyda. A great decision this proved to be by Fr. Juan the Fifth Takilan, as the Starblaydi performance belied their paltry rank, not even allowing the Sea Dragon side to play anything like their best. Such incredible young talent has been scouted, selected, developed and thrust into the spotlight, shining now for all to see as Starblaydia are the first of the Group B teams to book themselves a place in the Second Round. If this Starblaydia side can beat this Andossa Se Mitrin Vega side, how good are Starblaydia's chances for the title themselves? Defeating Audioslavia and defeating ASMV means that only the likes of Valanora and record-holding regional champions Pacitalia could stand in Starblaydia's way right now.

Image
Remember this? Julius Starblayde scores in the 10th DBC
The plaudits will, of course, go to Kochanska, scoring her third goal in two games, this her first start for the senior national team. Her cyan blue boots, this time echoing the colour of ASMV themselves, proved deadly once more as she took the wining goal. They should also go to Grant Hansen, wise beyond his years between the posts, and to Juan Torres, masterfully leading his team from the heart of defence. Jordan Johanssen and Marmitinho, too, proved themselves in the middle of the park for ninety minutes. Did anyone notice, however, the young man who provided the cross for the winning goal?

Why, that would be one Sergio Di Bradini, Iskara Daii's (where else?) youngster who is already the subject of an international bidding war between Taeshani and Vielhan teams. After this little cameo, it'd be a wonder if more teams didn't come in for him. Sergio himself, as well as the Daii, are unlikely to make any rash decisions on his future until after the tournament has completed. The marketing rights alone of any new Di Bradini, it seems, are worth their weight in gold.

Final score from Lonngeylin Coliseum
Starblaydia 2 - 1 Andossa Se Mitrin Vega
(Marmitinho 36', Kochanska 73') - (Shr‘tuu 68')

"Tooooooooooooor THATIUS!"

The announcers always had a funny way of mixing up the way they shout that Thatius has scored, thought Jake McCord as he switched the television to one of the several Vilitan new stations just after Thatius scored its third and final goal of the match against The Icemark.

Proceeding to leave the remote control for the television on the table, Jake walked to the bathroom and took a good look at the guy staring at him in the mirror. A guy who is in need of a shave, he reflected. He had forgotten to bring his electric shaver with him on the way to compete in the Atlantian Oceania Confederation of Association Football Cup currently held in Vilita. Another trivial mistake.

Along with his shaver, Jake had forgotten to bring other important things with him on his trip. Most notably, his cell phone to call his friends and family back home in Thatius. Several of them, including his father, Connor, and his younger twin brothers, Justin and Jack, had all decided to help in the recovery effort in the province of Northern Kasern, after the so-called "Wight Disaster" effected the northern half of the country, but most notably, in Northern Kasern, Frederikstaat, and the northern island of Île-de-Nord, home to the three major cities of Amorgos, Délos, and Kéos.

By now his family members had made it to Brevik, which took a big hit from the disaster. They would be clearing debris from the streets along with thousands of other volunteers from all over Thatius. The McCord family, all the way from Sunspear, a city in the Northern Djonos Islands, felt inclined to help the victims of the Wight Disaster, especially after the response the rest of the country gave the southern islands after one of the largest hurricanes struck last year.

As Jake went back to the small living room, he noticed the news station he had changed to was displaying pictures of the disaster areas throughout Atlantian Oceania. Pictures from Starblaydia, Ipeland, Audioslavia, Hutt River, and also from Thatius. It made him feel good to see that the recovery was going well in many of these nations, and the pictures and details from Thatius looked promising.

With such a big disaster as what happened with the emergence of Wight, the region of Atlantian Oceania has come a little closer, especially between the nations who were affected and had helped out with the recovery. It made it that much harder to beat them in the AOCAF, Jake knew.

Both Thatius and Cosumar were affected in some way, but now the two nations will play, with a spot in the knockout rounds on the line for Thatius. But perhaps the match, to be held in Waridi Town Park, Waridi, Turori, will exhibit a much more friendly atmosphere. The fans will share many things, for example: both are Atlantian Oceania nations, avid soccer and tennis countries, as well as both affected by the Wight Disaster in some way.

Whatever the case, Jake was determined to put all of his energy and passion into this game. He knew what playing for Thatius meant, and how important the regional tournament was. With the 61st World Cup coming around the corner too, it was time for Jake to show his merit and worth if he is to be put on his first-ever Thatian World Cup squad.

"Would you call yourself a man of science, Jack?"

"Would you call yourself a man, Tom?"

"Of course I would, Jack, on account of not being a pansy who needed his aunt to pull strings to get this job."

"Science, Tom. At the Tivali Ring today, we learned something, Tom, and that was that Joha Kruppie isn't much cop as a scientist."

"He said in an interview today that he was planning on experimenting with the team against the lesser-known sides, an experiment which has not paid off."

"That's correct, Tom. He changed the formation."

"He did indeed, Jack. For our viewers at home, remember, the Falcons typically field 1-5-3-2, maximum of eleven players on a side, of course."

"Of course, Tom, but today, after more controversial play from Colan Battes and Thax Akirax, Kruppie went on the field with 1-4-5-1."

"Dangerous play, of course, dropping Yrion Kork from the starting side. Thim Rais and Cristof Foil were brought on to fill up the middle of the pitch, but Cherald Marthiew just couldn't deliver on his own."

"That's right, Tom, the Falcons of course 3-0 down at half time. But then the change came, didn't it?"

"Has your change come yet, Jack?"

"I don't know what you mean by that."
"Of course you don't, child."
"But the side that walked on at half time, Tom, was the side we know and love, and Thax Akirax pulled out a goal in the 70th minute."

"Still a 1-3 loss, but the Falcons learn, and they rise."

Days of Summer
Soccer in West Guiana
Chapter 1 Part Two:
1870-1900

Now then to start where we left off, to refresh your memory. Soccer in its current form was for the most party out right banned from being played in the West Guiana colony to which at this time was part of the Kingdom of Alkoul. Now then after the tryant king had died a new one took to the throne, one much kinder than the last. King Piaoto allowed the Guianan colonists to play soccer freely with out punishment, but before the sport was legal they were already playing it. Playing it in the middle of the woods or in old warehouses in front of small crowds so the Alkoulian military wouldn't arrest them.

Now when this was going on they had created the People's Secret Soccer League in 1878, the first champion was the People's Lions Club. Now then in 1880 when the league had expanded to ten teams the Lions then beat St. Johns United Patriots in the 1880 championship game in front of 5,000 people all from St. Johns to which they won 10-0.

Now then after that game the people of St. Johns demanded to the Colonial Government that the poor should be banned from playing that game. However since such an act would violate King Piaotos decree, the spoiled brats of St. Johns had to make due with their situation. Now of course they wouldn't let it go, so they and a few other rich cities made their own soccer league, and called it the Colonial Champions Soccer League (CCSL). This league was made up of six teams, the St. Johns United Patriots, Saints of Holy, Hamliton Tigers, Willington Frogs and CCSL Lions.

Well with the CCSL, the PSSL had competition yes, but the poorer people liked the PSSL more since all the players lived the same life style as them and fully understood the hardships they faced. Players of the CCSL however where just the rich kids who thought that they were better. From 1881 to 1889 the two leagues champions would say the other were Colonial champions and riots would occur in the cities and villages. It wasn't until the start of the 1890 season when Lord Geroge Hamliton, the namesake of the city of Hamliton and very wealthy businessman of the colony proposed a simple idea, the two league champions play each other for the colonial crown.

Now you'd think that would slove everything, but the players of the CCSL refused to accpet the proposal because they wanted the game to be played in one of the CCSL fields. So Lord Hamliton said to that, "Which ever champion has the better record, that is where the game shall be played". Still the CCSL players complained and Lord Hamliton grew fed up he eventally wrote in the Metro Times of St. Johns, "If they [CCSL Players] don't want to play where the better team plays its games, than i'd declare that the CCSL will forfeit every Colonial title until they play in the championship"

Well after that the CCSL agreed to the terms despite they greatly disliked the terms of the agreement. So for the 1890 season both leagues played twelve matches, the Willington Frogs CCSL Champions played the Gems of the PSSL for the first colonial title. Well the Frogs beat the Gems in Gemsbrook by a score of 3-1, in front of a crowd of 6,900. After that win the CCSL broke the agreement saying that it gives them an unfair advantage since they'll win every Colonial Title forever. So Lord Hamilton challenged them to that. 1891 season flew by and soon came the second Colonial Title game the Frogs came back to defend their title while the Port Salem Sailors came with their pitiful 3-3-9 record. Well with that record coming in the Frog players laughed and already ran over to raise the trophy declaring their victory. The Willington crowd cheered thinking they had already won.

Well Lord Hamilton stepped onto the field and ordered everyone to shut up and play and so they did. Port Salem won 8-2, the Willington crowd was in shock. Thinking the game was rigged and that they were cheated the Willington players went to the Port Salem side and yanked the trophy out of their hands and took it with them, demanding that the game be erased from history, saying that such a loss would damage the CCSL. Lord Hamliton would have none of it and ordered the police to escort the Port Salem players back to the train station so that no incidents would occur taking the Colonial Trophy with them back home.

Well The Colonial Title changed hand five times since 1891, by 1896 the PSSL had won the title four times, wheres the CCSL had won three times. By Far the 1897 Colonial Title was the most memorable, by this time both league had worked out their differences and both sides had done the same. During the off season the poor and rich were some what close friends, but during the season they were bitter enemies. The CCSL at this time had six teen teams, two which were based in Gemsbrook and Port Salem respectively. While the PSSL has twenty teams, one whole division was based in the richer cities.

So for the 1897 Title game, it was a rematch of the first Colonial Title Willington Frogs versus the Gems, the game went on for four hours of play. After the first ninety minutes of play the score was 0-0, well they kept playing. The game had started at one o'clock, by three-forty- five people wondered if the game would ever end. Exactly at four o'clock the Gems scored the only goal and won. Wasn't much cheering after that win, everyone was tried and hungry so everyone went home. The Gems players went to the hotel in Willington to celebrate.

By 1900 The Colonial Title was the largest sports event in the colony and over that eleven season time span, over 103,000 people had gone to watch those games. And by far that number is still disputed to this day, since West Guiana at this time only had a population of 996,000.
Domestic sports leagues

Welcome to the Cup

Game Recap, Leorudo vs. Hutt River
Leorudo Roar A.F.C. has arrived in the AOCAF. That's right, the new kid on the block can hold it's own agianst it's group. Leorudo surprised many with a tie in the first game. Drawing 95X 2-2 in the first match. Today they faced Hutt River. A club that could easily be ranked next to Vilitia as the best club in the group. Well, Leorudo exploded on the Hutt River club, scoring four goals in the first fifteen minutes of the game, and then agian in the twenty-seventh. Winning 5-0, Leorudo put in their subs. The rest of the game could be considered a two-nothing defeat, because frankly, Hutt River's subs are better than ours. The Leorudians won the game without question, and in the group that seemed like it could be the best in Atlantian Oceania, Leorudo finds itself in a match with the group leader, cup host, undefeated-juggernaut of a club, Vilitia. This seems like a death sentence to the young club, which players are quite inexpierenced in games agianst club of Vilitia's stature. Leorudo's best hope is that Hutt River wins a low-scoring game with 95X, which would keep them in sceond place. Scena Tartarus is quoted on the Vilitian club "They are a good club, and we...uh...well, not so much. We need some luck. Wait, no, we need more than that."

Let me leave my article at that.

A Tale of Two Paths

Today in Vilita it was proved yet again that despite rank, form, or fashion The Purple Peril always seem to rise to the parts would indicate. And the Sea Dragons national first side was the latest to face that reality as they fell victim to a wondrous individual performance from Lena Kochanska and a faceless group of defenders who were shining examples of what solid team defense should be as they refused to yield an equalizer. In the end, the Sea Dragons would find themselves on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline with far more questions to be had than answers.

Complacency was the word that kept popping up from manager Kymykera Wu’eres. Complacency from elder players on the squad who tend to view this foray into the AOCAF as tedious and unnecessary. Complacency from younger players who had as of yet to learn how to self-motivate. Complacency from a staff struggling to find ways to keep the squad competitive enough to remain one of the top sides in the world rather than the side on the rise thay had always been. And complacency from a fan base that was becoming completely rabid for World Cup Glory on their home soil.

Compare that to the hunger a truly great nation and squad built upon the deepest of Championship roots. Place it side by side with the sheer desire of this current group of Starblaydi youngsters eager to prove to the world that they can be as great as their predecessors once were. Compare our own fledgling glimpse into glory with a nation who quite literally wrote the boo on the matter. Compare those things and the outcome of today’s match should have been easy to see.

Wu’eres went on to remind people that the Sea Dragons were not a perfect squad by any means. Jaqinze, Bareqii, and Karinzui were all fresh off of U19 success as runners up in the last AOCAF. In fact, Karinzui and Bareqii could still be starters on that squad if the national side had not been desperate for fresh legs and play. Add two more starters just barely 21 and an average age for the squad of just over 25 years and one can realize this squad has a ton of room to become even better - or fall flat in failure.

One major change has come from the match as the Sea Dragons prepare to face another Monster in the form of defending AOCAF and CoH Champions Audioslavia. Fekelii Nab’ibakii, who has struggled to find consistency even when playing with former superstar Jahirii, has been replaced in the starting 11 by domestic powerhouse forward Banjuru Shr‘tuu. Which will make 6 starters 21 or younger. Now the Sea Dragons will have to find a positive answer to an age old question - youthful vigor and enthusiasm or seasoned and experienced veteran? The choice has been made, now we just have to find the answer.

Following the brief delay, the suspect cleared his throat, and shuffled a stack of papers he had left on his desk. He hadn’t looked down once during the entire course of his previous testimony, which made Mindy nervous. Of course, if he had been constantly checking in on the papers, Mindy would have been nervous as well. There was simply no way that Mindy would not be extremely nervous. But the suspect’s demeanor certainly wasn’t helping. The suspect, cooly, calmly, began describing the second week of his narrative,

“By the time I watched the Kiryu-shi - Scandonia match, I had seen a good majority of the sixteen matches from the first week, and I was feeling pretty good about Kiryu-shi’s chances. There was the finesse of Samantha DeCastro, combined with the ferocious defending lead by Olive Ferguson. And against a Scandonia team that had not faired particularly well against the Falcania squad. They had their striker, Henning, but I was pretty sure that he wasn’t going to be able to break through the Kiryu-shi defenders like he was able to do in his earlier match.

“It was not quite what I expected, to be sure. The Kiryu-shi defense was as good as I remembered. Particularly, Kenta Takenomi’s extreme and hyper-aggressive masculinity shown during his physical domination of the Scandonia defenders. Olive was also a force, and her yellow card was complete nonsense, as her hard tackling was simply not fully appreciated by the extremely touchy, referee. As I scarfed down my dozen doughnut-burgers, I came to fully understand the dominance of Kiryu-shi’s defensive line. But Samantha DeCastro’s beauty and grace did not shine through at all throughout the entirety of the first half, as the midfielders, Bob Libby and Connor Boyle in particular, had a lot of trouble moving the ball up the pitch. It was particularly painful to watch as Scandonia seemed to be able to send wave after wave of attackers, but Kiryu-shi’s attacks could not take advantage of any of the numbers, as sloppy passes and touches in general debilitated the attack.

“I started my maple syrup ice cream float as the second half began, and Kiryu-shi finally was able to break through. I found myself becoming extremely defensive about the team - I was becoming a fan, not just an observer. When Lidia Barnes trailed a pass back towards an oncoming, completely free Will Feingold, who took it upon himself to score the first goal of the match, I found myself nearly spilling my bucket over as I jumped up. And then, when Scandonia pressed up with only a few minutes left, and DeCastro burst through and created a one-on-one goal to it out, I felt a sense of relief that I can only describe as a fan. I was genuinely happy to see the Kiryu-shi team succeed.

“The other group A match, of course, shown the athleticism but internal turmoil of the Falcania squad, as they failed to take advantage of the New Montreal States’ relative disarray and fell. Still, as we all know, the match against Falcania would prove… well, I’ll not get ahead of myself.

“I went through a brief deep-fried pie phrase throughout the next week as I watched the rest of the matches in Vilita. I started to respect Group B as a potential group of death, as the level of play that Starblaydia demonstrated in their takedown of Andossa Se Mitrin Vega. But the hosts Vilita was most adroit in displaying their dominance on the second match day, which was a pretty telling sign of what was to come. But I was most impressed that, by the end of the second day, Kiryu-shi was one of only two countries, along with Group E participants Cosumar, who had yet to let in a goal. But before I knew it, the week was up, and it was time for Kiryu-shi’s next match…”

Mindy wasn’t sure what to make of the testimony at all, but he was starting to experience an interesting combination of nausea and hunger, for no apparent reason.

"Holding altitude, we're at 6 klicks above sea."

The FAV Hawk powered down its colossal drive turbofans, and redirected all its power to the four gargantuan propellers that kept the mighty vessel aloft.

"What's the report from the base site?" asked Low Admiral Loernix, as Captain Sherlin stood at the observation rail, surveying his bridge crew.

"Ground site has been prepared," the midshipman reported.

Captain Sherlin grumbled to himself. One of those annoying quirks of the carrier group system. A captain was master of his ship, but on the Hawk he was only the second most important Skyfleet officer. Low Admiral Loernix was in command of the carrier group, and was in effect the base commandant, when they put together the base, at least. Then there was General Sahx, the Skymarine honcho responsible for the twenty-five thousand rifle-toters onboard, and Air Commodore Qorix, who oversaw the planes, drones and other fun flying equipment that the Sky Control Force were so proud of. All three of them were answering to High Marshal Allian Pack, the Director of the Military himself.

Loernix was sitting in the captain's chair.

The Captain's chair. His chair. He'd worked his way up Skyfleet from the enlisted ranks, twenty-five years ago, and he'd earned that captain's chair, maybe an admiralty position after this tour, and be out on his pension within five years. They called him the "old guard." They didn't know the half of it.

Sherlin grumbled again.

"Problems, Captain?"

He turned to see the face of his first officer, looking at him with a look of vague concern.

"Yep. It's that goddamn college boy, Loernix."

"That's your chair, Cap."

"You're right. It's my damn chair." He sighed. "I'm too old for this. It's not our fleet any more, commander, guys like you and me - well, girls like you," he conceded, remembering that about a third of the young, fresh-faced officers joining his command were women.

"I shouldn't worry about it too much, Cap. Once we set down, he'll set himself up a nice little headquarters, and leave us alone to watch the footie. We'll practically be on leave, won't we, Cap?"

He mulled this over. "What's your name, youngblood?"

"Commander Ro, sir," she replied "Cynder Ro."

"You're going to be a good captain someday, youngblood." He smiled to himself, and tapped his fingers on the rail. "You're a fan of the football, are you, Ro?"

"Aye Cap, looking forward to the Kiryu-shi match."

"Resilient folk, them. Resilient. I don't know much about football, but I know people. Those low-folk come from a tiny little island in the south, and they're pretty much impossible to break. So I guess we'll see."

A feeling of dejection pervaded throughout the locker room. They'd lost again, and with the scoreboard back in Lonngeylin final, it meant that their hopes were well and truly dead. Unlike the last game, where they had held out well until the end of the first half, only given up a score on a set piece and lost the insurance goal on a counter while trying for their own equalizer late into the second half, they had just been plain sloppy in this match, and the final scoreboard here in Corsaibi reflected that. Nobody seemed willing to speak up, so it was up to Andreas to interject.

"Well? Anyone like to explain what I just saw out there?"

The room stayed quiet until Lorenz, curt as always, finally broke the second silence.

"We lost. Badly."

The other voices started coming in now, one on top of the other.

"We're eliminated from the competition."

"And we still haven't even scored a goal."

"I think we might be the only ones left who haven't."

"It's all because of this bull draw..."

At this point, he had to interject.

"Don't blame this on a 'bull' draw. You watched the Audioslavia - Starblaydia game - the team we were playing is quite mortal. Indeed, I think you guys watched that game a little too closely, because it sure looked to me like you thought you could blow by these guys and forgot that they are the defending AOCAF champions. At least I hope that complacency's the answer. Blame our current situation all you want on our list of opponents - we looked terrible out there and deserved what we've got, and we've got no one else but ourselves to blame for where we are now. All we have left to play for may be pride - but pride's what's got us here. You kids don't understand - I had to sit there watching these competitions, longing to test my mettle. It may hurt now - here, sitting in defeat - but that makes victory all the sweeter, in the end. Better to love and lost than to have never loved at all, isn't that the saying? So learn from your mistakes and get better - and get ready for the next game. Let's see if we can't bring Starblaydia back down to earth and leave this place on a high note."

“Wight? Where is that?” Bobby asked to the locker room.

“Some place that apparently knows how put a ball in an open net.” Hamish glared at his keeper, the goat of the match. “Especially when you get out of position.”

Bobby slumped back into his locker, properly chastened, as the room fell silent again. Kelvin raised an eyebrow over the edge of his shades, before returning to his usual post-match staring.

Mark tapped Hamish on the shoulder and motioned towards the manager’s room. Hamish nodded, and followed his colleague and temporary assistant through the door, before heading to the desk, so that he could have a place to slump.

“We had it, Mark” Hamish groaned. “All Bobby had to do was pay attention for one more minute, and we’re on to the knockouts. But noooo, he has to play to the crowd, and not notice that Hummingbird kid trying to play it cute, and launch one from distance. Those two points it cost us, plus the one it gave them, is the only thing keeping them alive against Baz. If they figure out how to score goals, then we could be in trouble, if we can’t get by Osarius.”

Mark frowned. “Yeah, and if your aunt had a drinking problem, she’d be Druidan. Can’t really dwell on this one, Ham – you said it yourself, we’ve still got Osarius to go. And we’ve got them on differential, so all we have to do is not lose, and we’re in.”

“Oh, and don’t be too hard on Bobby, there” Mark added. “He’s just a kid.”

“You see, Mark, that’s the problem.” Hamish straightened up. “He’s got a lot of years left, but we don’t have the time to wait for him. Stan’s a leader out there, but even you know that he’s not what we need in goal. The only reason Gabe’s kept him there is because we don’t have a better option. Bobby’s supposed to be that option, but not if he does stupid stuff like he did tonight.”

“In fairness, you can’t blame him for the first one” Mark interjected. “Masvidal is an artist with the ball, after all.”

“True, though I thought he was a poet.”

“No, that’s the keeper. He didn’t seem to know what to think of Kelvin, though. Two solid goals from him tonight.”

Hamish smirked. Contract year, indeed.

“I do feel bad for Jimmy, though,” he said. “Baloo had his number all night. I still don’t know how he saved that last one.”

That last one referred to what would have put away the 2-1 match as stoppage time neared. A tussle just outside the penalty area led to a counterattack, leading to a familiar sight for Bob’s Towing fans – Maharry flicked the ball on to Jay, who charged forward on a breakaway. Baloo stepped forward, coming out nearly to the edge of the box, trying to force Jimmy off on an angle. Jimmy stepped to the right, feinted, and came back to the left, seemingly putting him clear of the keeper, and allowing him to shoot on goal.

The resulting shot looped right back into Baloo’s hands.

Hamish and Mark remained in the room, sitting in silence. Finally, Mark re-broke the ice.

“So, um, how’s Emily?”
----

Emily returned to the deck. “Status report, Lieutenant.”

Her subordinate nodded. “Yes, ma’am. Little in the way of activity. No visual sightings of Starblaydi or Falcanian vessels, and nothing showing up on radar.”

“How about from our fleetmates?”

“Negative, sk-er, ma’am. Our position takes us furthest from shore among our group.”

“As I expected – we’ll be the first to find anything out there. Thank you, Lieutenant, I have the conn.”

The Lieutenant stepped back, allowing Lt. Commander Abrams her place at the front of the deck.

The LSV Scotalan is not a very big ship, measuring only 160 ft. in length, and displacing 400 tons in the water. Only twenty-two sailors were needed to maintain it, though its current crew sits at 25. Only two officers are generally on-board, putting the onus of their work on them.

Some assignment for my first time driving her, Emily thought.

Dodekanesè Daily

AOCAF

Fans looked on in anguish as Thatian goalie, Novák Prakusya (#3) fell to the ground, hands buried in his face. He had blocked the incoming shot from one of Cosumar's forwards unfortunately with his face. Trainers and the goalie coach immediately rushed to his side once the ball was kicked out of bounds, and the referee allowed a small injury delay.

From the look of things, his nose was bleeding, and once he tried to stand up, he fell straight back down. A stretcher was rushed out so he could be transported off the field in time for play to resume. His replacement, sitting on the bench, was not second-string goalie Jeremy Jezdić, the star goalie of Thatius from the Di Bradini Cup, but rather it was Connor Blaževski, the newly installed third-string goalie.

Jezdić, the 19 year-old from Região Marcelo, had an earlier accident that has left him in the hospital for the past week. While vacationing in the Southern Djonos Islands, a large, poisonous jellyfish had stung him, leaving marks on his entire body and left him paralyzed for a couple of hours. Doctors deemed him unfit to play, and would said he could not return to exercise for another week.

Luckily for Thatius, a new player has emerged recently. Blaževski, also 19 years-old, was only recently added to the Thatian National Team's Roster after his powerful performance in the Thatian MLS with his team, Frederikstadt Firebirds. Coach Max Djantschenko added him to the roster soon after the Firebirds won the Thatian MLS Cup, and promoted him immediately to second string goalie after Jezdić's accident.

During his performance for the remainder of the match, Blaževski withstood the pressure very well. He let in only one goal in his international debut, and saved plenty more. He was supported by an adept group of defenders, as well as strikers, who were able to score three goals in rapid succession against Cosumar. Thus, after seventy-eight minutes of play, Blaževski finished his role as goalie for the match against Cosumar, and retired for the rest of the day.

Next comes an even bigger challenge for Thatius: the knockout rounds. In the first they will face Leorudo, who finished second in Group E, the same group as hosts Vilita & Turori. The match, to be held in Waridi Town Park, Turori, will feature two very stark and driven teams. It will be interesting to see if doctor's give Prakusya a chance to play, seeing as he suffered a mild concussion as well as a broken nose in today's match against Cosumar. He will undoubtedly be shaken up even if he does play. Even if he does get the o.k. from doctors, Coach Djantschenko might not even put him in to play, unless things turn from really bad to ugly in the match against Leorudo.

Demi Santos celebrates 54th-minute goal against Gallund (APR)

Pacitalia put emphatic stamp on group stage with lopsided victory
Five-goal margin of victory allows Foxes to stride confidently toward knockouts

Constantin Tiervancu

Demi Santos and Cadi Herrera both tallied a pair of goals, with additional scoring from Xabi Ferrán and Fenicio Samatini, as the Blue Foxes earned a berth in the knockouts at AOCAF Cup 36 after soundly defeating Gallund, 6-1.

In this, the final match of the group stage, the Pacitalians assured themselves passage to the round of sixteen, following three straight victories in Group G.

After the match against Gallund, Pacitalia's young keeper, fresh off his 42nd cap, spoke of the importance of maintaining concentration in all parts of the Foxes' game.

"It's going to be more important now to retain possession of the ball in the second half," Ander Bera said. "I'll be trying hard for my part to keep a clean sheet running. We're over the first hurdle and we just need to keep paying attention to every aspect of our game."

Bera might be concerned about how many goals he concedes, but the Pacitalian keeper already knows first-hand that clean sheets don't necessarily translate into titles.

The Foxes conceded two admittedly soft goals during the group stage of AOCAF Cup 34 but went on to win a seventh championship. In contrast, in the very next Cup, having been the only squad to keep the ball out of their own net during the entire five-match round-robin, the Pacitalian side conceded at least a goal in each knockout match before eventually settling for a third-place finish.

Pacitalia will face first-time qualifiers New West Guiana in the round of sixteen. After disappointing efforts in previous Cups, the Guianans — who the Foxes have faced once before — have finally broken through the so-called "grass ceiling" with a 2-0-1 record in the group stage. In fact, NWG could have forced stalwarts Valanora to a scoreless draw, save for just one costly error that made the difference between finishing with six points instead of seven.

Cautiously optimistic about the path forward, the Foxes will look to counter the NWG attack, who, while playing their standard 4-3-3 formation, have managed seven goals against their three opponents thus far. It will be a battle of offensive wits for certain, judging by both sides' previous outings at AOCAF Cup 36, as both nations have three men up front.

For the Pacitalians, it will be paramount to forward the ball to leading scorer Demi Santos, whose six goals have helped place Pacitalia in the knockouts. The Foxes can also count on the strength of some of the best tournament statistics so far, including the most goals scored, with 12, and the best goal differential (+9).

While the fans cheered and celebrated the qualification of West Guiana into the thirty-sixth AOCAF, Felipe was already looking forward to the Round of Sixteen match against Pacitalia, they same nation West Guiana played in group stage four years ago in the 35th AOCAF. This time is diffrent and Felipe knows this, four years ago West Guiana had then lost ten strait matches in the AOCAF, now they were 2-0-1 and God has decided to smile down upon the team. But Felipe knows all to well what tough times fells like.

The Defense isn't very good but thankfully WG Soccer has been blessed with a very good offense. But with allowing six goals in three games that doesn't bode well against a team like Pacitalia who has scored twelve goals in total while allowing only three goals. This doesn't bode well, but Felipe has put into place a bend not break system, that the struggling defense even if they allow a goal, hopefully on the offense they'll be able to strike back. But Felipe knows that wont work against a team like Pacitalia.

Felipe will now be trying to figure out how to get the defense slightly better before tomorrow nights game. Felipe knows that West Guiana's chances of pulling out a win are slim to known, but if they can keep the game close and at lest put some fear into the Pacitalian fans and team, that will be something they can carrier onto the World Cup Qualification round. Felipe believes that this qualification of the 36th AOCAF is just a preview of what will happen in the World Cup Qualifying round. That maybe if West Guiana plays its cards right they'll qualify for the sixty - first World Cup. Of course first time qualifiers all he could hope for was at lest one tie in the group stage. Enough of that, Felipe knows that the only game that matters right now is the next one coming up and that's it!

The bench was a pill hard too swallow. Callum McNaughton had not entered a single game yet, but he hoped that maybe he could enter this one. Leorudo was playing Vilitia, quite possibally the best team in the cup. The score was one to nothing. Leorudo being the latter. The Vilitian striker with the black hair was quite good, and Azulis was looking bad guarding him. It was the sixty-fifth minute, and Vilitia had the ball, slowly advancing it forward. Callum had noticed the slow build-up, followed by the quick execution of a shot. This plan had worked once so far, and they did not intend on stopping. It was raining in the stadium, and the arena was not as filled as the players expected. Leorudo was still looked at as a new team with no credidentials what-so-ever. They just had to keeping fighting, and thats what they were doing. Ninety-Seven percent of the fans there were fans of Vilitia, and Leorudo could not expect support from them. The rain kept pounding, and the ball was stolen from Vilitia yet agian, and Leorudo began attacking agian, and Callum sat there as the ball got stolen agian from Leorudo. He leaned back in his seat. It was going too be a long thirty minutes. The rain kept beating it's pattern, and as time wore on, the Vilitian's would get ever closer to scoring. It was the seventy-fourth minute. Azulis was still having hell guarding the striker and the rain was coming down harder, and mud was starting to play a factor. The Vilitian striker pushed the ball forward, and Azulis slipped trying to guard the attacker, and fell into the mud. The Vilitian striker scored an easy goal, flipping to over Tartarus. The manager stood up. He turned and walked towards Callum. "Can you go in?" he asked Callum, thinking that the game was out of hands."Why not?" Callum replied with quick tongue. This moment was much more important than Callum knew. This would be his first moment of international play.

The board showed Azulis' number in red, Callum's number in green. He ran out on the pitch, toward the player he was set to defend. The Vilitian striker told him,"Welcome to the game, rook." The Vilitian passed the ball towards Callum's man, he thought fast, and Callum's first international football battle for possession began. It was a struggle, but Callum eventually prevailed, he pushed forward towards the Vilitian goal, he almost had an open shot when he got tripped from behind. The Vilitian striker had caught up too him, he had chased him from the other side off the pitch, making sure he did not get beat. Callum was awarded a penalty. This was his chance too score. He stepped up, and ran forward, hitting it towards the top-right hand corner. The Vilitian keeper hit it back into play. Callum only had a moment to focus his miss, as Luke Moore hit the rebound straight back at the goal. Scoring Leorudo's first goal. Vilitia pushed it back towards the Leorudian goal, Tartarus then made another save and threw it towards the Vilitian goal. Callum caught the pass, he quickly flicked it to Jim Fellon, who passed it to Shaun Delrose, who then passed it too Leonardi Opladious. Using his left heel, Leonardi passed it back to Callum, who lobbed it too Curtis Osano, who shot a brilliant strike into the lower left hand corner. Leorudo had just tied the game. The rest off the game went by in a blur. Scena made another great save. The two mids tapped it back and forth for about three minutes, and the Leorudians had qualified for their first AOCAF postseason.

Welcome to the International stage.

"Well that is interesting. Anything to do about it?"

"Nah, it's just a blip in the radar really."

"You just made it sound a lot more promising than that."

"Yes, well, it is not of our concern and besides, nothing to do about it now that it has happened."

"Very well. Any other news of the day?"

"Well the national team is actually performing well for once in the AOCAF. They won their group and have what appears to be a relatively easy match up in the first knockout round. Some new nation I think, Gallund I believe the newscast from Vilita said. And if they win, then the Marauders likely get to face the hosts themselves."

"That part is unfortunate, we do not exactly have a great record against host in competitions. Still, the Vegan manager continues to prove her worth and her home country is set to be our cohosts for the upcoming World Cup cycle. Must be a good time to be a citizen of Andossa Se Mitrin Vega."

"Indeed. Though our own return to prominence and the hosting bid win over Legalese makes it a good time to be a Vanorian as well."

"Well said."

Eel-Cat Things prepare for Cosumar

Face rivals in Third Consecutive Elimination match.

Vilita & Turori have calmly advanced to the Round of 16 in the 36th AOCAF competition, the first AOCAF to be hosted in Vilita & Turori since AOCAF II, the second installment of what would become the premier Regional sporting competition in the NSverse, the first of which to feature the Island Emirate of Turori so prominantly.

Four time winners of the Competition, Vilita & Turori easily advanced from the group stage, despite a small misstep against newcomers Leorudo in the final group stage matchday after having already been assured of qualification following the 5-0 thrashing of AOCAF XXII champions 95x.

The Eel-Cat things had quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead against 95x with goals from Ritopa Simafela and Yves Gadois. It wasn't until Gadois left the field, however, that Vilita & Turori opened the flood gates, netting 3 goals in just 7 minutes to run out 5-star winners to solidify their place in the round of 16.

Vilita & Turori will square off against Cosumar in the Round of 16, after Cosumar was pipped to the top spot in Group E by newcomers Thatius. It is the third consecutive knockout match contested between Vilita & Turori and Cosumar. Both sides finished runners-up in their World Cup 60 Qualifying groups, advancing only to the playoff stage where the two eventually met, Vilita along with Cosumar, with only one advancing to the World Cup Finals in a one-off elimination playoff match.

It was the Jungle Cats of Vilita who would advance, recording a 2-0 victory over Cosumar to advance miraculously to the World Cup Finals after completing a perfect second-half of the qualifying campaign and 9 match winning streak helped Vilita overcome the horrific opening 7 matches of the campaign that saw the Jungle Cats collect just 8 points out of 21.

The World Cup 60 Qualifying triumph for Vilita was payback of sorts, as in the previous tournament, AOCAF 35, it was Cosumar who triumphed at this very stage, the Round of 16, to knock Vilita & Turori out of the cup with a 2-0 scoreline.
