Welcome to the United Kingdom of Valladares!

To our visitors; the players, officials, and fans of the teams competing in the tenth Copa Rushmori,

First of all, we would like to warmly welcome you to our nation, and we hope the experience will be as enjoyable for all those involved from Valladares as it is for all those travelling to Valladares and the people watching the matches worldwide.

I am King Charles V, the Head of State of the United Kingdom of Valladares, Overseas Ruler of Nileville and Whirl Islands, and Their Respective Colonies, Territories and Dominions, to give my full title. You will find that we are different in ways, and we are similar in ways to your own nations. We ask that these differences be respected, from our rule of law to our customs, in the same way that we will respect your right to speak your mind freely here without fear of prosecution.

While not wishing to be a killjoy, we hope that the following be noted so as to make your experience here a pleasant one.

First and foremost – we often use Spanish to speak among ourselves. Spanish is our official language. English, French and Portuguese are widely spoken (and also official in some regions and federally), but every valladar citizen or migrant in Valladares must at least dominate Spanish or be fluent in English. If you do not understand Spanish, you can bring or hire your own interpreter.

The number for emergencies is 123, reachable from any phone, be it mobile or a land-line. Inside some companies, you may find you first need to dial a 1 to reach an external line before dialing 123 as usual, though all companies (from “big business” to restaurants and shops) and other public venues (museums, stadiums, etc) are required by law to display adequate signing advising on this.

Emergency vehicles are marked with the name of the service (be it Police, Fire, or Ambulance), and are also equipped with a siren and flashing either blue or red lights. If you encounter one of these vehicles while the lights, the sirens or both are active, please take extra care, and if necessary, pull over at the nearest and safest opportunity, using your indicator (turn signal) to ensure that the driver of the emergency vehicle is aware of your actions.

Though unlikely, if you need medical care in Valladares, it will not come with a cost to visitors with the appropriate travel insurance. You will find our hospitals are state-of-the-art, with the best equipment, treatments and employees available.

The fire service in Valladares is also well equipped and able to deal with any eventuality.

You will find that all police officers are armed with either a standard pistol or a semi-automatic rifle depending on the branch of the Police Force (City, State, and National) they belong to. However, this does not mean they should not be approached if you have a question. Police Officers have excellent training, and patrol areas they are familiar with, so if you are lost, they are often the best people to consult. First and foremost, though, they are keepers of the peace, and will not hesitate to involve themselves in anything they feel is likely to endanger members of the public, or cause criminal damage to private property.

Onto sport – Valladares has a established football/soccer heritage, playing in some international competitions around the world. We play football on both international and club levels, having 5 professional divisions before reaching federal and local levels. Our National Football Team, nicknamed "Le Tricolore" or "Les Gones" entered to the international stage in the Baptism of Fire for the World Cup 47, and it has achieved some important achievements, despite its short international history, like for example a second place at the 49th Cup of Harmony. As for our clubs, our best teams are Fontvielle Impact, two-time Champions' Cup winners, Metropolis Alligators and Marinos Metropolis, both from Metropolis (our capital city) and both one-time Globe Cup winners. In addition to this, Valladares has won the most recent U-17 Rushmori Championship, held in Mangolana prior to the start of this competition.

Our official page (wiki) is: http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=Valladares. The wiki is also a massive source of other information, though our writers have gotten lazy lately and not updated anything about Valladares.

While travelling around Valladares, you will see differing sites. From the medieval roads and alleyways of Canalave, in the northwest of the nation, and its docks, one of the busiest trade ports in the region, supplying our nation, our allies, and our region with food and other goods, to the industrial metropolis that is Carloburgo, our second largest city, with spectacular views to the Valladar Southern Alps, and our powerful Hamanos Dam, which supplies with energy our nation, and it's an excellent place to practise water sports.

With all that said, Valladares is a unique country, one proud of its heritage and its people, and is more than welcoming of those visiting our nation. Valladares welcomes you with joy!

Remember that for more touristic information, you can always call to our Royal Ministry of Tourism. Just dial 031 573 5743 from any phone, be it mobile or a land-line.

Yours Sincerely,

His Royal Highness, King Charles V
King of the United Kingdom of Valladares.

David Villarreal Alarcón,
Prime Minister of Valladares

Host Stadia:

Home of Metropolis Alligators and Marinos Metropolis, both powerhouses in Valladar football and Leones de Metrópolis, an amateur baseball team, the Dome or "the Big D", as it is known by the locals, is located in downtown Metropolis (the Valladar capital) and seats 65,000 people in its football configuration. One of the newest and most modern stadia in the nation, with state-of-the-art amenities, like luxurious VIP boxes, restaurants, gyms, and even an observatory from which you can see a fantastic view of the cityscape and its neighboring areas, it provides all the ingredients needed for an unforgettable fan experience. The Dome will be home to all the matches played by the hosts during the group stage.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Valladares vs. Aquillian
MD2: Cassadaigua vs. Valladares
MD3: Valladares vs. Carmadin

City of Metropolis Stadium is an all-seater football stadium, located in the district of Poblado (one of the wealthy districts of the city), to the southeast of Metropolis, and was built in 1953 for the VI Juegos Nacionales de Valladares, held in Metropolis. This stadium serves as host for Club Nacional, twice Valladar Super League champions, and was the most important stadium in the city, before the Metropolis Dome and the National Stadium were built and opened (despite its decades of decline and neglect). It was rated by the Valladar Football Association (VFA) as an A-Class Stadium, the second highest rating given by the VFA to any stadium in Valladares, after the Top Stadium rating (which has only been awarded so far to the National Stadium in Metropolis and White Meadow Arena in Carloburgo), and was also recently expanded and refurbished with the addition of new bars, restaurants and corporate entertainment areas. This stadium seats 47,826 people and will see the Carmadese, Cassadagan, and Aquillian national teams in action, each one playing twice here in this group stage.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Carmadin vs. Cassadaigua
MD2: Carmadin vs. Aquillian
MD3: Cassadaigua vs. Aquillian

Located in the outskirts of the city of Carloburgo, 20 minutes away from the city centre, this stadium is one of the newest in the nation, having been inaugurated by Tannenberg FC at the start of the tenth Valladar Super League season (16 seasons ago). The "Bowl", as the stadium is nicknamed by TFC fans, is fully equipped and able to increase its capacity in exceptional cases thanks to retractable stands on the ends which can bring the spectators (specially those ones in the Knights End, home to Tannenberg's hardcore fans) closer to the pitch, greatly improving the game's atmosphere and fan experience. White Meadow Arena seats 69,070 people and will be the main headquarters for Group B, while also hosting one Group E match.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Homelands our vs. Astograth - The FSSO vs. West Zirconia
MD2: West Zirconia vs. Homelands our - The FSSO vs. Astograth
MD3: Homelands our vs. The FSSO - Pasarga vs. Ancharmunn (Group E)

One of the oldest football stadia still in use in the nation, the Alain Tramontin Stadium is located in the Villeneuve district, in the south of Eterna City. It was opened in 1966, with a capacity of 55,000 and the first and sole tenants of the ground have been the Eterna Stars, who have played at this stadium since their foundation in 1969. It has been the subject of at least three renovations to prevent its deterioration, and remains as the most important stadium in the Eterna state. As it is surrounded by houses, the sale of alcohol and the presence of away ultras near the stadium is restricted by the local authorities, and since you will come during our "summer" season, be careful: don't forget your caps!

The hottest games of Group C will be held at this stadium, with a couple of teams from Group F also making the trip from Canalave to play their last group stage match.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Mangolana vs. Napland - Wild Isle vs. Chenkorya
MD2: Chenkorya vs. Mangolana - Wild Isle vs. Napland
MD3: Mangolana vs. Wild Isle - Virabia vs. Megadia (Group F)

The Stade de la Frontière, home to the current Valladar and global champions Fontvielle Impact will be the venue for Copa Rushmori action in the Foix state. Located to the south of Fontvielle, an industrial city in the south of the nation, this stadium underwent some remodeling works looking to prepare it for the Copa Rushmori, which included an increase of its capacity from 36,500 to 41,378 seats. This also included the installment of more VIP boxes and more restaurants in which dishes prepared with Tamount cheeses or milk are the main attraction. Aside from the stadium and the factories, there's no much to visit in Fontvielle, although the Parc de l'Eau, an amusement park, and the historic Place du Centre stand as important places in the city.

Fontvielle will be the main venue for Group D and will also feature a single Group G match on the final matchday.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuk vs. Falconfar - Falconwhereveryouare vs. Mapletish
MD2: Mapletish vs. Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuk - Falconwhereveryouare vs. Falconfar
MD3: Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuk vs. Falconwhereveryouare - Queer Poco el Mono Ara vs. Mashiki (Group G)

This stadium is located in Pradera, the capital city of the Antioquia state (west of Valladares' mainland) and the eighth most populous city in Valladares. Built in 1983 and named after Carlos Humberto Villa, Governor-General of the Antioquia State between 1975 and 1985, it has a 25,572 capacity and became an all-seater stadium after its most recent refurbishment. It is located in the Primavera neighbourhood, which is in the northeast of the city and serves as home stadium for both Pradera FC and Hamanos Athletic Club (from the nearby town of Hamanos), teams that have not been very successful in the Valladar Super League. Because of this, local fans are extremely impatient and noisy and tend to exert pressure over their own players (and the rivals, too), however, most of them are kind people willing to receive their guests with a smile.

The Estadio Gobernador Villa will host five Group E matches involving teams like Civil Citizenry, Polar Islandstates, Pasarga, and Ancharmunn and a single Group B match.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Civil Citizenry vs. Ancharmunn - Polar Islandstates vs. Pasarga
MD2: Pasarga vs. Civil Citizenry - Polar Islandstates vs. Ancharmunn
MD3: Civil Citizenry vs. Polar Islandstates - West Zirconia vs. Astograth (Group B)

Group F is gonna be a hell, and not because of the teams in it, but because of the stadium they'll have to play in: Yes, Dragon Stadium, the "Dragon's Den" (as nicknamed by Canalave Dragons fans) is a hell. And that is because Canalave's climate is hot, sunny, and humid, which may become in a disadvantage for any team coming to play here for the first time. Despite that and in spite of the fact it can only seat 35,000 people, it's still a comfortable stadium with excellent facilities. Maybe the only disadvantage it has is...the stands are too far from the pitch!

Dragon Stadium will be the main stadium for Group F, and will also host one Group C match.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Swartaz vs. Megadia - Michael VII vs. Virabia
MD2: Virabia vs. Swartaz - Michael VII vs. Megadia
MD3: Swartaz vs. Michael VII - Chenkorya vs. Napland (Group C)

Group G teams will have to travel to the mountains of eastern Valladares, to the beautiful city of Campo Grande, the "Garden City" to play their first matches in the competition. The Estádio Estadual is a collosal stadium capable to seat 50,000 fans, and is home to both SC Caimanes and Chiquito FC, fierce rivals. This stadium is an Architectural Patrimony of the Nation, having won the Valladar Architectural Prize in 1983, two years after its construction. Maybe this stadium has the same problems as Canalave's, but the fan experience is sure to be greatly improved by the fantastic stadium's environment and atmosphere. This stadium will play host to all Group G matches except one, which will replaced by a Group D match.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Saugeais vs. Mashiki - Darmen vs. Queer Poco el Mono Ara
MD2: Queer Poco el Mono Ara vs. Saugeais - Darmen vs. Mashiki
MD3: Saugeais vs. Darmen - Mapletish vs. Falconfar (Group D)

Westlands Stadium, located in the Adelaide suburb of Hoxford, in the Westlands, was a last-minute addition to the list of host stadia. Being an all-seater stadium with capacity for 17,000 people and home to the Hoxford Rovers, currently playing in the Valladar Super League, Westlands Stadium is not as luxurious or comfortable as other CR venues, but the CRX Organizing Committee is sure that Group H teams and their officials and fans will eventually be able to find its charm. It will host one Group I game as well.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Krytenia vs. Camwood - Sargossa vs. Jen O the Hill
MD2: Jen O the Hill vs. Krytenia - Sargossa vs. Camwood
MD3: Krytenia vs. Sargossa - Filopines vs. Sicoutimont (Group I)

And last but not least, we travel to the capital of the Westlands, Edmonton, and its picturesque Albert Field. This small stadium (20,000 seats) is always packed by Edmonton United fans, who create a warm enough environment to dissipate the eternal cold present in this beautiful city all year long. Albert Field will be host to the reigning Copa Rushmori champions, Western Cuba and their 3 group stage matches, plus 2 other Group I matches and a single Group H match.

Group stage matches to be played there:
MD1: Western Cuba vs. Sicoutimont - Phoenigetuzstha vs. Filopines
MD2: Filopines vs. Western Cuba - Phoenigetuzstha vs. Sicoutimont
MD3: Western Cuba vs. Phoenigetuzstha - Jen O the Hill vs. Camwood (Group H)

RP Permissions
NO Godmodding of any form, and NO red cards. Otherwise, go for it.

Style of Play
At times, it is actually a 6-0-4, with the two midfielders dropping back to help the defense if needed. Toval and Myiavic, however, have more than capable skills of sending the ball thirty-yards or more into the net if given the opportunity. Didier the goalkeeper will hope to move past his fear of set pieces, especially penalty kicks, and continue his stellar play moving along.

On the offensive end, Nehafsaim and Votmk provide a nasty left side that can score at will, while Nasaic and Rayon are more of the assisting type. It is the Imperials' hope that four pressing in at the top will be more than enough to score enough goals to win.

The Falconfarians are looking forward to a tournament in which they are the only ones playing, meaning that they won't have to deal with the Falconearan half of Unified Falcon. The first cycle as Unified Falcon didn't go that well, and tensions were starting to arise. It is their hope that this Copa Rushmori will dissolve tensions a little, that they'll get back together as a team and start enjoying playing football once more.

FULL ROSTER:
(Caps in brackets indicate appearances from the bench)

Coach: Joachim Schwartz, 48
Sol Kirkkegaard's shoes are going to be tough to fill, and Joachim Schwartz is, at least for now on an interim basis, the man whose job it is to do so. The new FPIFA chairman's first job will be to appoint a permanent manager. They seem to be taking their sweet time about this however, so Joachim's tenure is lasting at least as long as Copa Rushmori X. As former winners of the tournament, much will be hoped for from the Terns, not least because Schwartz is promising sweeping changes to counter the stagnation that seemed to be setting into the national team. A revolution is coming. It will be televised. Schwartz is hard-nosed and tough to win over, however, he values loyalty and hard work more than flair and showboating, so keep your nose clean and work hard, and you'll go far in his eyes. He formerly pushed hard for the inclusion of wingers in the Terns squad, but in his quest to deliver a passing defensive game, he will be sacrificing them once more to the bench as he seeks to show all he learnt tactically as Kirkkegaard's assistant. In his short time in charge so far, he has already made great strides towards working with youth team coach Gregorz van der Riise when it comes to the challenge of developing the next generation that needs to take over from this collection of also-rans, and the youth element is keenly felt in the squad, with an average age of just 25.1 years old.

Assistant: Various
As he is technically only interim manager, Schwartz has seen no point in awarding an assistant role on a permanent basis. However, three of the other senior members of staff on the bench will be fitness coach Duncan Kanchelskis, 42, first team coach Johannes Kallstrom, 39, and opposition scout Matteus Sigurdsson, 47.

#1 - GK - Lars Hegg Gammel - Age 33 - Avidia United (Krytenia) - 124 Caps, 1 Assist
Lars moved abroad to Cotdelapoms in order to try and win a place in the Terns squad, fearing he'd never get the chance if he stayed stuck behind Atle Andreasson at SK. The move paid off, replacing first Atle on the bench, and then Karlsson in the starting line up. His talent is undeniable, and his quick reactions were key to the Terns claiming the third place medal when they did, keeping their only clean sheet of the finals as they beat Krytenia 1-0. Following the collapse of the Cotdelapomais league, it was this performance that alerted his presence to Krytenia giants Avidia United, for whom he now earns his living. Quite simply the best Polarian goalkeeper ever seen.

#2 - DR - Zacharias Juul - Age 26 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 70(4) Caps, 4 Assists, 5 Goals
So often the bridesmaid and never the bride, Juul has waited patiently for his chance in the first team, and hasn't looked back since winning the starting position on a permanent basis as the Terns lifted the Copa Rushmori VIII title. He is fast, a natural leader, and calm and confident on the ball, and will make waves at this tournament as they Terns attempt to retain their title following his move to Jan Mayen Islanders.

#3 - DC - Julius Oyen-Spekke - Age 23 - Resolute Storm 1913 FC - 6(5) Caps, 3 Assists
Quietly putting in matchwinning performances isn't easy in the Federation League, where every move is scrutinised and caught on camera, but playing for a club outside the big four has helped. Oyen-Spekke is a young defender upon many hopes rest, and his promotion to the starting XI here is seen as something of a risk by Schwartz. That, however, is what Schwartz is here to do, so Oyen-Spekke gets his big break. His agility and ability in the air is almost unmatched, and for sheer athleticism he'll be hard to beat.

#4 - DC - Torre Urfstadt - Age 26 - Club ESF (Valanora) - 56(13) Caps, 1 Assist, 2 Goals
Urfstadt is one of the most exciting players to come from the Torshavn ranks in a long time, and was been a crucial part of Torshavn's continued presence in Divisjon One, and a vital component in their Cygnus Cup winning squad. This brought him to the attention of Vanorian scouts, and a big money move saw him playing in the VSL. Fast, powerful, and one of the few shining lights in the Terns' World Cup campaign, now the finer points of positioning and leadership reveal themselves to him, he is a truly formidable defender, the likes of which the Federation hasn't seen since Niko Marek. Expect his 6'8" frame to be a danger in the opposing penalty box as well.

#5 - DL - Edvar Folke - Age 25 - SK Franz Josef City - 47(3) Caps, 2 Assists, 2 Goals
With the retirement of Steffan Pekarik after what was a fairly uninspiring World Cup run, Sol wasn't overly bowled over by the performances of his back up, Robin Arnfeldt. Therefore, with the left back position completely open, in from a string of performances in the U-21s comes the pair of Baalsen and Folke. A hugely dynamic presence in the defence, Folke plays his way for SK after leaving the King's League, and his huge promise has impressed enough to deserve the starting position, his exciting runs being a particular highlight. Schwartz has kept faith with the SK full back since Sol's departure, and this consistency at the back can only help the side.

#6 - DMC - Jorgen Hauge - Age 30 - Battle (Zarbli) - 137(4) Caps, 24 Assists, 13 Goals - CAPTAIN
A well established played in the Zarblese Duke League, Hauge was snapped up by Battle from Cross SC a few seasons ago, and hasn't looked back since. Now a regular in the starting lineup for the Terns, his marauding hatchet-man presence in front of the defence means attackers can't relax for a second. A long future in the national team beckoned for Jorgen, who is impressively large even by Polarian standards, and he has a fearsome reputation that has led to him being given the captain's armband, such is the level of importance he holds for the Terns. If he does his job correctly, it allows others to do theirs more easily, and he sees everything that happens on the pitch. Not bad with and from set pieces, either.

#7 - MC - Niko Lepka - Age 24 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 11(17) Caps, 15 Assists, 2 Goals
Not many would have expected such an experienced and calm reader of the game to reside in a body just 24 years old, however, Sol saw the talent this young midfielder has to bring the table, and has brought him in in repeated squads now, after a number of short cameos offered mere tasters of what he is capable off. Playing for Atletik Thessia and RVA before moving to Jan Mayen, he was well experienced and highly thought of in both Mytannion and Erathore before his subsequent move to the Islanders, who are looking to use him to replace their long standing Swartazian playmaker Krivac. He likes to give as good as he gets, physically speaking, but real skill lies with distribution, and he is seen as the next worthy successor to Demarchelier as a truly creative presence in the midfield. Certainly one to watch as he is part of the Schwartz revolution for sure.

#8 - MC - Emrahn Vik - Age 24 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 4(1) Caps, 2 Assists, 1 Goal
With Henning Tir's decision to retire from international football, and Artur Rochemback's less than impressive cameos at the last Copa, and now Jorgen-Franz Bru's unfortunate injury, Emrahn Vik is being handed the chance in the starting lineup rather earlier than he had anticipated, but does so with the full blessing of Schwartz. With a box to box game type, you are just as likely to see Emrahn smashing in a shot from the edge of the box as you are to see him make a block on the edge of the other box minutes later. May be still learning, but the move to Jan Mayen is drawing him wonderfully out of his skin.

#9 - ST - Ellis Elmsvikur - Age 25 - Royal Rumiatzi (Astograth) - 17(17) Caps, 3 Assists, 15 Goals
Much is hoped for from Elmsvikur this tournament, as he seeks to replace the dropped Amadeus Irndtor. Imposing and athletic, Elmvikur is the complete package. Fast, nimble, packed with stamina, a dead ball ace, good in the air, and with a lethal shot. He can play as a poacher, or as a supporting striker. You name it, he can do it, and has done. Very highly thought of in the Iturributan league, he nonetheless ditched Iturributa for the Astograthi league in the form of Timo Skye's former side, Royal Rumiatzi, and will need to work hard here to justify his huge transfer fee to the world. It remains to be seen how popular this will make him. His star is one to watch with nearly one goal in two for the Terns so far, and he will be a key part of Terns sides in the future. At 25, he and Kvitchenko are just starting to mature together into this Terns side, and are seeing the attack starting to be based around their plays.

#10 - MC - Alexsandr van Sorensen - Age 27 - Petardos S/A (Cafundéu) - 92(46) Caps, 51 Assists, 66 Goals - VICE-CAPTAIN
Shining light of the side Alexsandr is only 27 and entering his devastating best form, but he seems to have been around forever. Played a vital role for Jan Mayen before his move to Cafundéu where he continues to impress and is learning every day, impressing the scouts from Petardos S/A enough to be offered a contract. Suffers from rare brain condition synaesthesia, meaning his senses get muddled up in his head, but manages to not let this affect his attractive attacking play - indeed, if anything it seems to help him. Captained the U-21s in the Draggonnii Inviyatti, showing his leadership on the pitch for which he has been granted the vice-captain position in the squad this tournament, and likes to link in from the midfield, which is where he plays for Petardos S/A, as where as where he will play in Schwartz's new look Terns side despite retaining his iconic number ten jersey. Almost certainly an all-time legend already, and he is without a doubt the Terns' key player at this tournament, potentially of all time. Anything good will likely come through him, and at 27, if the Terns are going to use one of the best players in the world (probably) to propel them to another title... now is the time...

#11 - ST - Diedrich Kvitchenko - Age 25 - East Franz Athletic - 11(18) Caps, 1 Assist, 11 Goals
With eleven goals in his few appearances so far, Kvitchenko is looking like developing into a lethal striker, and is capable of playing out wide left or right and cutting in if required to do so. He is fast, and likes to use this to surprise defenders, changing direction and making a darting run that finishes in a first-time shot before many are even aware he changed direction. His ability to find space like this has been likened to witchcraft by a few defenders, and though he might not touch the ball much during the match, when he does, he uses it efficiently. Let's face it, there were two Polarian strikers in the CC-winning East Franz squad, and the nigh-on legendary Henning Blonqvist wasn't the one that made the Terns squad. Yeah. That good.

#12 - GK - Jan Rasmus - Age 28 - FC Axel Heiburg - 6(2) Caps
From his early days at the U-21s squad, it was clear to all that Jan Rasmus has talent. Finally, after several seasons working the penalty area at FC Axel Heiburg and becoming a real goalkeeper you can trust, he has been called up once more to the senior squad, so that he may add to his small collection of caps. A trustworthy backup, just unfortunate to be in the same generation as Gammel. Would be first choice in almost any other Terns squad.

#13 - GK - Piotr Hemjann-Bezelhov - Age 24 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 3(1) Caps
24 is still plenty young for a goalkeeper, and you'll be sure to be hearing the tongue-twisting name of Hemjann-Bezelhov for a long time, yet. Gammel is one of the best goalkeepers the national team has ever had, so chances in the first team may be limited, but PHB will be ready to take them when they appear. Taking over the first gloves at Jan Mayen since Mathias Marek's sudden move abroad has been something of a baptism of fire for the keeper, but his reflexes and speed off his line have kept him right. Still learning, but plenty of potential.

#14 - DMC - Andrej Einmark - Age 23 - North Star Grímsey - Uncapped
Apparently, Schwartz isn't much of a fan of Finnibaturinn. Or, maybe he's just selecting the players he knows best, the majority of which are naturally going to be players he's watched at home. Andrej is a fine defensive midfielder in the making. Though a little way off where Hauge was at his age, he nonetheless was the standout player for North Star in Divisjon 2 this past season, and with them failing to gain promotion, he can't surely be staying there for much longer. His range of passing is excellent, and if he takes his pointers from Hauge as is surely intended, then he could be a ready-made replacement.

#15 - DL - Luka Baalsen - Age 26 - East Franz Athletic - 8(17) Caps
One of the stars of van der Riise's Chicks side for many years, this East Franz left back has impressed hugely during East Franz Athletic's run to being Champions' Cup title-lifters and hugely deserves his repeated call ups to the main Terns side. One of many youngster who has waited patiently for the legendary Pekarik and de Huyer to retire, he will seize this chance with both hands if given the chance to by Edvar Folke. Fast and intelligent, Baalsen can drill the balls in from long distance like a missile, so keepers will need to beware of his ability.

#16 - DR - Dima Petersen - Age 23 - Ituraitz FC (Astograth) - 8(15) Caps
Without much history in the national team, Dima is one of the wave of talented young wing backs the nation seems to be awash with at the moment, and following some impressive performances in the World Cup, Sol has handed the man based in Ituraitz another call up. He is lithe and nimble, quick to change direction and a difficult marker to shift. His tackles are, well, when he tackles you, you stay tackled, put it that way, and his ferocity and determination is a key part of why Sol has called him up.

#17 - MC - Eyvindur Sudesval - Age 22 - Montbenoit (Saugeais) - Uncapped
Having captained the u-21s in the past, Sudesval comes to the senior side with a wealth of experience already in his back pocket. Confident is his own abilities, he lets his football do the talking, and this quiet individual can often be seen practising alone if left to his own devices. Strong in the air and full of potential, his fitness levels are astonishing, able to run end to end for 120 minutes if needed to. Boast a powerful shot as well as some developing vision in the game, he's a pro all-round midfielder just waiting to burst through.

#18 - ML - Kjetil Huytspurr - Age 24 - FC Axel Heiburg - 1(1) Caps, 1 Assist
One of a few players called back into the squad by Schwartz after periods away from it, Huytspurr is well known in the Federation League for his devastating pace and ball control down the left side of the FC Axel Heiburg midfield. His striking is frequently lethal when he cuts in from the outside, and used opposite of Jon Kjaer the pair of them could be a hugely successful tactic for the Terns. However, with Schwartz's move back towards a winger-less midfield, he may have to be patient to win his third cap.

#19 - MR - Jon Kjaer - Age 28 - Mar Sara FC (Valanora) - 53(14) Caps, 22 Assists, 6 Goals
Kjaer was another victim of Sol's tactical preference when it comes to his national side potential, and following Schwartz's appointment as Sol's replacement, he drops once more to the bench. Nonetheless, he seems to have always been around, and the fact he's only twenty-eight catches many by surprise, as he had been a regular and feared feature of the SK starting lineup for many a year. His move to Valanora seems to have made him even more potent, and his crossing is keen and deadly. The speeds with which he can change direction appear to have only slowed very slightly, and he is in the form of his life right now.

#20 - ST - Lewis Bergen - Age 26 - FC Cape St Paul - 1(2) Caps, 1 Goal
Yes, Bergen is back. The journeyman striker has finally settled it would seem, and set us shop nicely for St Paul this past season, impressing enough to earn a call-up as the third striker in the squad. Fourth if you count AvS. Schwartz sees big potential in Bergen still, and his height and strength as a lone striker could offer something different to the Terns. As impact substitutes you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that could shake up a tiring defence, and he has been known to send defenders flying like skittles once he gets his large frame up to speed. Bluntly, he's Schwartz's battering ram.

#21 - AMC - Vladimir Konovalov - Age 22 - Royal Rumiatzi (Astograth) - Uncapped
With a developing reputation in Astograth, and many glowing reports from scouts, Vladimir Konovalov is called up to the Terns for the first time in his life. Bursting with enthusiasm, the young playmaker will be itching to get a chance to use his fancy footwork on the international stage, and his vision is second to none. Perhaps his choice of when to run with it and when to execute that vision could perhaps be a bit better, but at only 22 years old, there's plenty of time to learn how best to shape his raw talents into the finished article.

#22 - DC - Nico Tchepikov - Age 21 - FC Cape St Paul - Uncapped
Younger cousin of Brede Tchepikov, who plays for Renneville United in Osarius, Nico was all ready to accept his callup to van der Riise's u-21s side when it was suddenly retracted without warning. Though initially disappointed, Nico was all smiles the next day when he got the phone call from Schwartz, and is one of very few players who are going to make their Terns debut whilst still eligible for the u-21s. Strong, fast, and an excellent reader of the game, Tchepikov is looking like turning into a great defender, and his appearance in the squad is exciting for all involved.

#23 - DC - Olivier Kindahl - Age 23 - FC Axel Heiburg - Uncapped
Another uncapped player moving into the squad is Olivier Kindahl. Schwartz has long advocated his inclusion into the senior side, claiming Sol overruled him and took Dahl at the last World Cup, but now Schwartz gets his way, and maturue-beyond-his-years Olivier gets the call-up at last. Nearly as tall as Urfstadt, Kindahl is as you would expect, a terror in both boxes, and his marking skills are second to none. His accurate long range passing from the back can often be the start of a devastating counter-attack if the forwards use their initiative, and he looks to be the model of a libero in the making. Hugely exciting talent.

TACTICS:
The Polarian game is fast, quick, and physical. They won't give you a second on the ball to think, and they won't hold back in the tackle. In the centre of the park they will play a possession based midfield game, though a defence splitting pass could come at any moment towards the fast and direct attack. Oyen-Spekke, Urfstadt, and Hauge will act as the defensive triangle, and van Sorensen, Elmsvikur, and Kvitchenko will counter at the other end as the offensive triangle. Lepka and Vik will be part of a compact midfield, allowing overlaps from the full-backs. This is the predicted first-choice starting lineup based on the squad numbers assigned, though as this is Schwartz' first tournament in charge, anything could happen.
2-3-3-2
-------------------------- Gammel --------------------------
------------- Oyen-Spekke ------ Urfstadt ----------------
--- Juul ------------------ Hauge ----------------- Folke ---

Opportunity knocks,
by Brittany Lawton

The Copa Rushmori is a tournament we are just getting used to here in Cassadaigua. We participated in the last one, but very little was ever said about the team then so it almost feels like this is the first time we have played in this tournament. I think that most of us, as Cassadagan citizens, have adapted now to Rushmori culture and have put our One Big Island days in the memory books. This tournament, though, is something new. When I played for the senior team between Cups 54 and 57, there was never a thought that Cassadaigua would ever play in this, so we grew up generally not caring. Sure, curiosity would get the best of us once in a while and we would check results just to see what was going on, but no active player in Cassadaigua can say they grew up dreaming they would win the Copa Rushmori. We look around the tournament, and see the other great soccer nations of the region and realize that their players probably have had dreams about this tournament that date back far longer then we ever would have had. The tournament is hosted by Valladares this year and it would have been nice if we could have gone to a city in the Westlands, rather then the Eastlands city of Metropolis, for obvious reasons. For those not immediately familiar with Rushmori geography, Cassadaigua is very close to sharing a border with the Westlands of Valladares, so travel would have been nice and convenient. Though then again, maybe that’s why they put us in the Eastlands! So there wouldn’t be too much pink and black in the stands, especially since we are in the same group as the host!

Nothing should be easy for us as we still have to prove ourselves in this tournament. It is a competition that represents a wonderful opportunity for myself and a group of players who are just below the cutoff point of making the World Cup roster. For me, it is my first time coaching a national team. I am honored that Stacie (CASE President Stacie Kerrigan-Fraser) chose me to be the leader of this team. I then had the responsibility of choosing who I felt were the “next best” group of players after our main stars. Stacie told me that she did not want World Cup players to go to the Copa Rushmori as she wants to see what more people can do playing in a big tournament. This would qualify as that, and I can understand the logic entirely. I just hope the team understands what this means for them. It would be great to win the Cup, but that may be too big of a goal right now of us. For the moment, we’ll look at gaining this valuable experience in full awareness that success here on an individual level could mean a spot on the World Cup 61 roster later.

Team Mapletish [The Lions] For Copa Rushmori X

Management Team

Manager : Oelen Heinz : The youthful and ambitious manager for many university teams, having won 8 University Football Championships Title in just 8 years of management in just the first eight years of his managerial career, having trained under Genetically Sports Modified coaches and many experienced managers, the introduction of him to the team might be a risky one,and after a Cup Of Harmony 52 which ended disastrously terrible for the Lions,Heinz's next mission is to bring the Lions beyond the Copa Rushmori's quarter finals,a record set by Muain Newtons before he left. This is Heinz's last chance to prove himself,if this fails,he will be removed from his post.

Assistant Manager : Eligio Esteban : Staying on to help Heinz after the Cup Of Harmony,he dismissed all the rumours that has been aimed at him to help Heinz on his Copa Rushmori quest to bring home a Copa Rushmori for the Lions who have experienced much.A surprise defeat against minnows in the Quarter-Finals last term led to an outrage of the Lions' ability to play in the World Cup,and the cycle of things continued in another round as the Lions didn't qualify for the World Cup.Esteban has lots of correction to do but the squad shall remain under Heinz's orders.

Starting 11

Goalkeeper, Oliver Kahner: He has always been the first choice goalkeeper for any manager that he his under.Oliver Kahner's reflexes and agility has done him good and this might be the tournament that he must prove and show to Heinz that his decision in putting him in the squad is right.

Fullback, Glena Johnson: The defender that the squad must have and he has been an important chess-piece for many line-ups,he must show Heinz his ability to carry the team forward in his new role as a offensive-fullback who will provide the attack with an extra man under Heinz's new lineup.

Center Back, John Davis : How can the center back position be missed out with John Davis inside, the experienced defender has been another important player for the squad, his selection will add in extra excitement to the team.

Center Back, Martin Keller : The experienced defender has finally get a first eleven spot after being left out in many line-ups,Heinz made a difficult choice in putting Keller in,but he is confident in his performance and Keller will have to prove it to him.

Fullback, Tomás Guillermo : Heinz has made another difficult choice here,as he put in youngster Tomás Guillermo into his squad.Although it might be a bit risky to put in a youngster into the set-up but Heinz's big gamble might be worth it if Tomás perform to his best.

Central Midfielder, Steven Johnson : Heinz opted for a safe midfield option of Steven Johnson as he put Johnson above of any other midfielder in his squad options as Johnson's vision and instincts in the pitch are second to none, having played out a number of World Cups,a total of 4 World Cups and 2 Copa Rushmori to date,he is definitely someone that the midfield needs, experience and among others, confidence

Central Midfielder, Peres De Oliver : Another safe option for Heinz,Peres De Oliver has build on the teamwork and trust that everyone has for each other because of his ability to distribute the ball from his side and making it like an engine room which his pretty productive, success in the CoH will also be decided by his attentiveness in the engine room.

Central Midfielder, Anjol Darez : Heinz opted for another youngster in his line-up again to add some youthfulness in the engine room as he pairs up with two other more experienced players Peres De Oliver and Steven Johnson. Why Darez and not the others, the reason,Heinz wanted a fast free flow play for the midfield so that the attack will go with the flow and attacking will be made much more easier. Will that be the case for the Lions?Darez will have to prove it to the team that he can flow with the game right from the start.

Winger, Anselmo Benigno : To the surprise of everyone,Heinz opted for a younger player to take on the role of a taxing winger, many would have thought that JH Morison will be up for the task, but to the disappointment of everyone he has been relegated to the bench until he shows that he can attack like how he did in his prime.Benigno might be a risky choice but a youngster will spice up the whole attacking mentality isn't it?

Center Forward, Dennis Long : To the surprise of everyone,Heinz dropped Junio the trusted tailsman for the Lions with Dennis Long, another youngster in which Heinz has confidence in.His reason for that,to give Long a chance to perform in an international tournament and giving Junio some rest after his taxing role in the World Cup Qualifying.Putting Long in is also another risk that Heinz is putting and it will be Long's job to prove that Heinz's judgement is correct in this sense.

Winger, Cirillo Remigio : It always a surprise and continued amusement that Heinz ignored the entire attack force of the squad that nearly secured qualification to the World Cup, dropping better and more experienced players like Junio,Di Natile,Maro and Morison for the attacking roles available. His reasons of doing this is very simple, which was to give the younger players a chance to play, that's his reason to change the whole attacking set-up and see if it is effective for the Cup Of Harmony.Remigio is a difficult man to predict, this youngster has his ups and downs,he might be good for a period of time and he can go downhill for another, the risk involved again to bring Remigio in is certainly riskier than any other player that he has chosen due to his complacency.

Coach

Brutušam Erassi (Kagdazka & Pazhujebu)
Shaven headed Pazhujebi tactician with a passion for a bruisingly physical yet all-out attacking game. Has led Sargossa to two successive World Cup finals, reaching the second round of the most recent tournament.

Assistant Coaches

Hernán Ojeda & Oghu'ghabuzheh Palšikar (Kagdazka & Pazhujebu)
Although his record as a manager in his own right leaves a lot to be desired Palšikar is a long standing collaborator with Erassi and can usually rely on his old mate to give him a job. Ojeda is a former assistant at SuperLiga giants Ciudad Soluca and provides the latest exotic foreign type in the hot seat with some necessary local input. In addition Israel Navarro continues to work with the goalkeepers while Javier Valentín has signed on as fitness coach.

Talent

GK: 1. José Antonio Leiva (33) - Scott City FC (Darmen)
Renowned locally as a safe pair of hands. Another consistent campaign saw the keeper attract interest overseas and he's since started a new challenge in Darmen.
GK: 13. Cristian Deballa (30) - Dunas Del Sol
Boasts the fastest reflexes in the SuperLiga which would make him an instant starter were it not for the occasional devastating lapse in concentration.
GK: 25. Fernando Surza (31) - Jaguarés
Decent goalkeeper. Collects Koi Carp, which is nice.

DR: 2. Toni Siqueira (28) - Ciudad Soluca
Gallivanting right sided fallback with pace to burn and technique that comes from being half Cafundelense.
DRC: 5. Leandro Gonzàlez (24) - El Nacional
Former captain of the Under-21 side who has become an integral member of the senior squad. Has become the youngest El Nacional captain in their history.
DLC: 6. Matías Cardozo (25) – El Nacional
Snapped up from lower league Rayo Camei to form an imposing SuperLiga defensive partnership with Gonzàlez. A partnership Erassi hopes to recreate for the national side.
DL: 3. Lautaro Formica (23) – Sporting San Marquez
The second son of Marquezian immigrants who couples sound defensive instincts with a wand of a left foot. Clocked up twelve goals from set pieces last season.
DC: 12: Juan Delgado (34) - Sporting San Marquez
One club man who is something of a legend in his native San Marquez. Few read the game better but he sprints like a someone wading through treacle.
DC: 14. Bruno Trejo (28) - Ciudad Soluca
A late bloomer who in the space of five years has gone from the third tier to become one of the nation's most accomplished defenders. But a shaky first season in Soluca has seen him drop down the pecking order.
DLC: 19. Luis Parra (29) - Scott City FC (Darmen)
Primarily a left back but has the attributes to fairly effortless drop into the centre, versatility much admired by Erassi.
DR: 21: Gonzalo Soriano (23) - El Nacional
Pacy rightback with a devil of a cross on him. Has a good understanding with club mate Gonzàlez and will push Siqueira hard for a starting berth.

DMC: 4. Lucas Càceres (35) - El Nacional
It's lovely to see a good old fashioned midfield hatchet man committing common assault on a football pitch. If at least one opposition player doesn't leave the pitch on a stretcher we'll be sorely disappointed. Almost certainly a last campaign for the veteran.
AMR: 7. Andrés Guerrón (30) - Chastings Heights (Civil Citizenry)
Wing wizard with pace that wouldn't look out of place at the Olympics. The onus will be on him to push forward to support the big men up front. Fresh from a productive domestic season.
MC: 8. Luís Ángel Landín (32) - Alianza Jucaro
Consistently one of the SuperLiga's most, well, consistent performers. Offers a neat and tidy range of passing and the ability to dictate the Corsairs' tempo.
AML: 11. Alejandro Echeverría (28) - Ciudad Soluca
This boy's a bit special and we're not talking in the crash helmet and crayons sense. Stick him anywhere in the attacking third and he can make something happen.
AMRC: 15. Matías Montiel (28) - Vincanto (Erathore)
Ridiculously talented playmaker who hits a dream of a freekick and could conceivably thread a ball through the eye of a needle. He's just a little lightweight for Erassi's preferred blend of powerplay.
MRC: 16. Hugo Messina (31) - Alianza Jucaro
A consistent domestic performer with a neat array of passing and a passion for flamenco dancing. We're not sure how that helps.
MLC: 18. Marcelo Alonso (31) - Deportivo Soluca
Another experienced midfield campaigner. Renowned at home for having a 100% success rate from the penalty spot.
DMC: 22. Ignacio Caballero (26) - Ciudad Soluca
A midfielder destroyer who fought off a tonne of attacking talent to take last season's SuperLiga player of the year award.
AMLC: 24. Sebastian Leto (29) - Sporting San Marquez
Scorer of last year's SuperLiga goal of the season, a 40 yard thunderbolt against Juventudé. Tricksy winger who provides left sided backup for Echeverría.

SC: 9. Celso Esquivel (33) - Charzzan (Erathore)
Penalty area predator with an international goals to games ratio that would look good on anyone's record. Age means Celso's no longer an automatic choice but he's a handy option from the bench.
FC: 10. Alejandro Martinuccio (28) - Sporting Iturributa ( Iturributa)
Erassi likes his big strikers and Martinuccio, at 6'4", fits the bill. A goal happy qualification campaign at the last tournament saw him snapped up by one of Astograth's biggest clubs. Which is now one of Iturributa's biggest clubs. Confused? So's he.
FC: 17. Héctor Riera (34) - Dunas Del Sol
Burly forward whose career is just starting to wind down. Little playing time at Ciudad Soluca has seen the forward head to the sunny climes of Dunas.
FLC: 20. Carlos Montero (23) - Dínamo Maturín
The youth coaches at the Ciudad Deportiva are no strangers to unearthing gems and Carlos is the latest to excel for the Dínamo first team.
FRC: 23. Lucas Andrada (28) - Kiiarana (Vilita)
A talented lad plucked from SuperLiga midtable obscurity by sharp eyed V-League scouts. Back at Kiiarana after a season on the books of Yeaddin Owls, one the oldest names in world football.

Style
Erassi has favoured an attacking 4-1-3-2 system. Probable starting eleven (Listed L to R)
Leiva -- Formica - Gonzàlez - Cardozo - Siqueira -- Caballero -- Echeverría - Landín - Guerrón -- Martinuccio - Andrada

Group D
Abcdefghijklmnopqrstuk
Falconwhereveryouare
Mapletish
Falconfar
Alphabet Soup, Cloned Falcons, Lions...

This seems to be a manageable group. We won't have to worry about any heavyweights early...

Wait. Didn't Falconwhereveryouare hit the Semifinals last time? They did, they actually beat Jacques...

This may be trickier than I thought, then. Hm.

ABK first. Then Cloned Falcons. Then Mapletish. Build up confidence as we get along, get into knock-out rounds. Simple, right? Be honorable, beat'em fair and square... Duplicate the first time we went for this? That'd be nice.

"Harold! Harold!"

Oh, crap. What now? That's the voice of Manager Barr... He's still kinda mad at me for leaving the Paladins for Royal Rumiatzi... Can you blame a guy for the money and the prestige of playing away at Astograth, one of the great leagues, though?

"Harold! Get your butt over here!"

I better go...

"Yes, Manager?"

It best not be anything personal... Keep it professional, Johannes...

"I want you to be able to press the ABK defenders in our first game... You've looked a bit fatigued in practice. You all right, Harold?"

Oh, so he's seen what jet-lag does to people. Great.

"I'm fine, Sir. Don't worry about me."

"All right, then. Dismissed."

Always to the point, abrupt. I like Imara better myself, but whatever. Just another day in the life of Harold Nehafsaim, superstar...

La Selección Aquilliana :: Copa Rushmori X

Manager: Alfredo Herrera (61 y/o)
Assistant Manager: Sergio Galindo (57 y/o)
Captain: Jose Sedillo
Vice-captain: Lemuel Tremblay
Style of play: Very attacking. High line of pressure, with regular overloads on the flanks (+3)

RP note
The style of play, selection process and manager are all based -- with varying degrees of "looseness" -- on those of Athletic Bilbao, if that helps at all. Also, the team's focal point -- for good or bad reasons, varyingly -- is mercurial genius Alejandro Palacios. For a real life example, think of him as a sort of cross between Juan Roman Riquelme (style of play) and Mario Balotelli (for off-field crazy), but less extreme on either part (i.e. he's neither that good nor that crazy).

RP notes
I have no specific permissions regarding the team beyond "no killing, please" ... and though I'd prefer if you cleared a major injury beforehand, I can roll with it. Do as you wish, otherwise. If it helps, Aquillian is a largely conservative, somewhat-religious nation with a lingering resentment for Osarius.

A moderately conservative, somewhat-religious nation with a lingering resentment for Osarius, their former colonial oppressors.
If you want a RL reference point, this nation is supposed to be a cultural, social and political mélange of Mexico and Jamaica.

I will sometimes RP in an approximation of Jamaican Patois. Apologies in advance ;)

Manager - Gunutz Yaregi
After yet another disappointing campaign, in which the group stage barrier proved insurmountable for the third time, the FAF did not renew the contract of iconic manager Powell Pieran, who has duly set off in search of new horizons. His replacement is the 60 year-old Gunutz Yaregi, grand architect of Echegoyan FC's meteoric rise from the second tier to First Division champions; a wily old fox with a winning personality. He'll do anything to secure the three points, and his first step was to make a few radical changes to Pieran's squad, setting his sights squarely on the Copa Rushmori and the upcoming World Cup 61 qualifiers. For starters, captain Urgutz Belarte did not receive a call-up and has hence been stripped of the armband. Also, no longer will Olibondeka field daring lines of three defenders and three forwards, but an orthodox line of four at the back, two defensive midfielders, three advanced midfielders across the middle and flanks, and one lone striker. The 4-2-3-1 has proven controversial among both the fans and the players, with the usage of only one striker being heavily criticised when there are many who could take up that space. So, instead of taking one reserve player per position, as is customary, Yaregi has left out a centre-back and a DM to pick a whopping four forwards, figuring the rest can sort of swap around while the others fight tooth-and-nail for a place up front.

Starting XI:
(Ages accurate as of Champions' Cup 40 final)

#1 - GK - Cheru Larretape - Age 31 - Royal Rumiatzi – 53 caps, 78 goals against, 16 clean sheets
At last, Larretape is free of Zernin Aira and can take the number one shirt for himself. Not very tall at all, but his lightning-quick reflexes, agility and leadership set him apart from most keepers. Long-time captain of top domestic club Royal Rumiatzi, he has paid his dues and then some to finally launch a consistent international career.

#5 - LB - Urtzi Galard - Age 28 - Royal Rumiatzi – 76 caps, 3 goals
An international veteran with three Di Bradini Cups and active member of the senior team since the World Cup 57 qualifiers, his quick, offensive runs down the wing are a constant threat. Tireless for the full ninety and an expert crosser, he can seamlessly swap positions with the left winger, and can indeed be used in that position if required.

#16 - CB - Ubelteso Adin (C) - Age 32 – Image Raynor City United - 117 caps, 7 goals
A rock in the defence of one of the best clubs in the world, Adin is a smart player renowned for his smart challenges, his skill at covering empty space and his passing ability. Considered the successor of Milian Erburu, Astograth's now internationally retired star centre-back, but has arguably accomplished much more for both club and country. Turned down the option of playing for Iturributa, owing his allegiance to the national side and former team Royal Rumiatzi, which has earned him the love of the fans and now, under Yaregi, the captain's armband.

#3 - CB – Abdoulaye Bocandé - Age 25 – Echegoyan FC – 45 caps, 4 goals
Although fully Zenegalese, Bocandé has been naturalised by Astograth after his standout performances in the First Division, originally joining from the Tamarindo league. A crucial part of Echegoyan FC's rise to the top and eventual championship run, he is a blood-and-guts defender with no fear of crunching tackles or studs to the face. His drive to excel sets him apart, and despite playing for his adopted nation still enjoys humongous popularity in his homeland of Zenega.

#2 - RB - Benat Uranga - Age 30 - Image Raktaghav Hathi – 60 caps, 2 goals
A fast, technically gifted right-back whose crosses and slide tackles are accurate and deadly, Uranga is as mobile and reliable as they come. He led Raktaghav Hathi of Kagdazka and Pazhujebu to a domestic cup win, the first title of their history, which shows that even though his rosy days at Ituraitz Victory are long gone, he's still got it.

#15 - DM – Ikatz Alberro - Age 24 - Ituraitz FC – 19 caps, 3 goals
Pieran made a gamble by calling up the Astograthian champions' young central midfielder, but it paid off wonderfully. He's carried over his club form, displaying all his talent for finding space in thick midfields, even without the support of such quality players as Ituraitz's Lester Sutton. He works best in partnerships, which means that pairing up with Galeano could improve his peformance even more.

#6 - DM – Galeano - Age 25 - Royal Rumiatzi – 6 caps
Galeano joins Abdoulaye Bocandé as the other naturalised player of the squad; the Tamarindian-born midfielder laboured long and hard at The Army Club before earning a call-up to the past Copa Rushmori and a transfer to cross-town giants Royal Rumiatzi. His small frame can be a problem when confronted with more physical opponents, but he has the vision to wreak havoc if Alberro gives him the space he needs.

#7 - LM – Lekubegi Guerrikaechebarria - Age 24 – Astograth University – 11 caps, 1 goal
His last-minute inclusion in the World Cup 60 squad made the kit man furious, but Guerrikaechebarria definitely deserved it, and Pieran didn't regret it. He is fast and lively, a credible threat down the left wing and newly arisen Astograth University's most versatile man. His eagerness can sometimes be a bit excessive, not thinking things through and dipping in form when setbacks arise, but a capable replacement for Urgutz Belarte he most definitely is.

#8 - AM - Otz Lasuen - Age 29 - Image Iturributa United – 85 caps, 16 goals
Lasuen is a classic number 10, though he wears Olibondeka's revered number 8, once worn by long-time captain Estebe Bularte. He doesn't go for the dribble or the sprint, he receives the ball and deals in assists. He takes shots sparingly, though a very strong right boot ensures that when he does it'll be a challenge for the keeper.

#10 - RM - Itzeder Unzueta - Age 31 - Image FKM – 127 caps, 24 goals
Unzueta combines deadly crossing with great shooting skill to turn him into a valuable asset both in and around the box. Tremendously talented, he tends to be selfish with the ball, and his attitude often gets him in trouble with teammates and manager alike. A star at the enormously successful FKM, he is the only member of the squad who can claim to be a UICA Champions' Cup and five-time KPFA League winner.

#9 - CF - Soter Sarlange - Age 32 - Ituraitz FC – 173 caps, 81 goals
Sarlange is a rude, egocentric striker who relies on his speed and height to score with unusual frequency. Most capped and top scorer of the national team by a mile; he knows the ins and outs of a forward's job and the numbers say he can practically score at will. One of the best during his spell in the highly competitive Primeirona, Sarlange is lethal and he knows it.

Substitutes:

#13 - GK - Aztore Irungarai - Age 30 - Image Ousevale Borough – 20 caps, 24 goals against, 5 clean sheets
Reached the semifinals of the Champions' Cup with Sporting Iturributa before packing his bags for Krytenian giants Ousevale Borough. Has a high chance of rotating with Larretape due to fluctuating form.

#23 - GK – Churio Muniya - Age 33 - Astograth University – Uncapped
Urgutz Martinena would rather go on holiday than sit on the bench for a crummy Copa Rushmori, so Churio Muniya gets his first call-up to the national team since representing Astograth at Di Bradini Cup 17. Unlike Martinena, the former Seria-A keeper is quite delighted to just be there.

#22 - LB - Urre Akaregi - Age 29 - Image Woodlands Lumberjacks – Uncapped
A multi-time Citiz champion with both TFC Lannymore and Merrilin FC, Akaregi didn't have much of a chance under Pieran's offensive formation despite having the skill and the experience to shine for Olibondeka. He may not be at his peak anymore, but he can provide more muscle down the wing if Galard finds himself overwhelmed.

#4 - CB – Yokin Arizmande - Age 20 – Urbizania Wanderers – 14 caps, 1 goal
A product of the Royal Vosaroni Antenelli youth academy, Arizmande moved to Erathore at an early age and was first-team for several years at Niccostrato, in keeping with the Erathi custom of teenaged players. Twenty, played a World Cup, winner of two Serias-A and a Schelia della Comunita; this defender's future looks very bright.

#17 - RB - Raitin Eneriz - Age 22 - Ituraitz Victory - Uncapped
Eneriz is eerily reminiscent of Uranga: a young, sublimely-talented right-back helps the same disgraced club get itself on its feet, before going to the national team and... that's the question. How will Eneriz do? Uranga has been solid, if ultimately forgetful; can his successor at Ituraitz Victory attain stardom?

#19 - DM – Burutzagi Bidaiyat - Age 18 - Image Edmonton United – Uncapped
Bred at Erathore's Niccostrato, Bidaiyat is a technical-minded midfielder, preferring to dribble and, above all else, pass the ball around like a mindless drone until the opponent makes a grave mistake. He isn't one for getting stuck in the challenge, though being young as he is he might yet adopt the rougher customs of Ikatz Alberro or - God forbid - the crunching tackles of retired Astograthian legend Edorta Urrustoy.

#20 - LM – Anixi Eturaspe - Age 25 – Royal Rumiatzi – 6 caps, 1 goal
More of a central-minded playmaker than the almost inside-forward role Yaregi expects him to play, but Eturaspe is nothing if not confident. A key player at Yaregi's own Echegoyan FC and then Royal Rumiatzi, he is good at creating chances from in and outside the box, though finishing them himself is an entirely different story.

#12 - AM - Aintza Lekea - Age 25 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders – 35 caps, 5 goals
Signed at a remarkably young age by the renowned FC Mildrid of Erathore and then transferred to the equally massive Juvillian Martinax, where he quickly became one of the top-rated players in the Seria-A; after that collapsed, he's found his place in the northern Jan Mayen. Selfish with the ball and a bit of a diver, but his tricks and free kicks are brilliant. Suits Pieran just fine. Competent at taking up the mantle of national team playmaker, though his attitude is strongly rejected by the Astograthian fans.

#14 - RM – Iban Bachiondo - Age 25 - Echegoyan FC – 3 caps, 1 goal
Bachiondo's had a rough relationship with Yaregi, but it can't be denied the man loves himself some Echegoyan FC, even being named captain by Yaregi despite their frequent rows on the pitch. The reason being, Bachiondo doesn't like to follow orders or rely on his teammates, his individualism putting strain on the team as often as it pays off majestically. Bad attitude, great footballer; he would make an excellent duo with Lekea if either of them were into that sort of thing.

#11 - CF - Formerio Iturralde - Age 25 - Image Casuals Osteria – 26 caps
Dismissed by Iturributa United for his attitude and promptly snapped up by top Krytenian club Casuals Osteria, Iturralde is a self-centered goal machine not unlike a younger Soter Sarlange or the eternal Polarian forward Timo Skye. Missed call-ups after not impressing at the Copa Rushmori and Brevity Challenge Cup then ditched the option of playing for Iturributa when he noticed Astograth would probably get him more exposure. Obsessed with getting his first goal, which has proven very elusive and frustrating to the extreme, both for him and the fans calling for his head.

#21 - CF - Ikatz Ansotegi - Age 28 - Image CR Submiria - 65 caps, 20 goals
Known for scoring absurd amounts of goals in the Astograthian league thanks to his sheer speed, height and brute force, recently transferred to the Cafundelense Primeirona. Built like a rugby forward and nicknamed 'The Locomotive' because he barges through the defense till he scores. Put five past Melbergia in a World Cup 58 qualifier, making him the first and only man to do so for Olibondeka, and can be relied upon to very literally stomp all over the defense.

#18 - CF - Hurko Atristain - Age 27 - Image Red Star Severny – 42 caps, 23 goals
Consistent scoring earned him a transfer to Red Star Severny from Urbizania Wanderers, then a call-up to Copa Rushmori VIII and the Brevity Challenge Cup, then the World Cup qualifiers and the finals themselves. Has responded everywhere he's played and racked up an impressive goal count that has him fourth on the all-time top scorer list. Too soon to call him Dei Ormache's successor?
