I discovered this image when all the Eurovision/Conchita Wurst hoorah erupted, and couldn't help but think it was most likely to be the meeting of the United Bekkside Orthodox Church.

Image

Not entirely sure who'd be the pink one, though, unless he'd accidentally bleached his usual purple robes in the wash.

Two things.

One, how did you get to that from Conchita Wurst? Also, two, can you see the look that the one in the middle is giving the pink one? And the fifth guy won't even look at him.

To keep the conversation related to the WC, I'm considering IC nation name changes. That won't be an issue rankwise, right?

It shouldn't be a problem. There are precedents.

Heh. I see what they did there.

Okay. It probably wouldn't happen this cycle, but it's nice to know that it's OK.

Wait a bit, wait until The Everything Thread of the BoF, which surely will be placed in two or three weeks to be fair, last champion was Vilita, finishing a 48 Win-less-WC streak.

In the highly likely case you'd want to know all previous winners, click here.

Note: It's not updated with the very last World Cup, but you already know Vilita won it anyway.

You can always try the Brady Bunch thing.

Oh, and a reminder. This will be the first World Cup where Vulpine Sportif will officially release a series of boots at the World Cup. Of course, I'll need the good, big names for the boots to be... well, rather respectable. So what I'll do is release some boots with famous player names and some special stuff, possibly including imagetry.

This doesn't mean I'm not doing another Radio Esportiva season, mind you.

You can put recently defected Kunibert Mathias in that list.

Or Sebastian Krister. Although admittedly it would be cool if you put a defected guy as a sponsor or whatever. It would certainly piss off the Cord leadership in Felix. ;)

Manager seeks job:

Steffan Pekarik
- 51 years old
- 141 caps as a left-back for the Terns, 15 assists and 6 goals, captained his country once.
- Played for East Franz Athletic, Urajbina of KagPaz, and then FC Axel Heiburg, winning the Champions' Cup as captain before retiring and going into a coaching role with the club. Later followed manager Morten Rasmussen to the Terns to become assistant manager through all the Terns' final appearances.
- Hard-nosed, will encourage strong tackles, will shout a lot in the dressing room.
- Prefers defensively strong formations, but this doesn't necessarily mean a negative modifier - he'll just discourage gung-ho attacking.

The time has come for accomplished assistant manager Steffan Pekarik to spread his wings and find himself a managerial position of his own after a decade learning from the most successful manager in the history of the Terns - Morten Rasmussen. Steffan is famously hard on his players if they're found to be guilty of complacency or lazy play, and he drills his players hard on the training pitch. So if your team is skilled and talented but with a soft centre, he can revolutionise your defensive play and turn you into a tough and physical side, whilst allowing you to use your skills in the attacking third as appropriate. He won't be afraid to ruffle feathers with popular/lazy/show pony players to do this, either. He'll take no prisoners, suffer no fools, and allow no airs or graces. Everyone works hard, everyone gets the rewards.

Pekarik is looking for a team with a realistic chance of qualification this cycle, even if they never have done before, as he would like to add his name to the ever-growing list of Polarian managers who've taken a national side into the World Cup finals. He would also be looking for a contractual commitment of at least two cycles from the FA who are taking him on, complete control over team selection, and translation support where necessary, but is happy to work with whatever assistants, coaches, and opposition scouts are already in place.

I don't mind him going to a team outside the top thirty, but down to about fifty is as low as I'd go. I don't mind him going to a nation I've barely had IC or OOC contact with before either, but I will be checking over RP levels in previous tournaments before I make a decision. Future RPs don't have to be about Pekarik at all, but like I said ICly, he wants to go to a nation with a realistic chance of qualification and any RPs will help that this coming cycle.

Any interest, please TG me.

An appointment has been found.
