The World Cup Discussion Thread (OOC, version III)

There will be a one-day delay in the scorination for the 3rd place match of the Cup of Harmony due to an unfortunate oversight on the hosts' part, and as such the scorination will take place in the same window as the final. Apologies for the unscheduled delay.

With that out of my system, I'd like to thank Legal and FR for a very well run tournament. Everything went without the slightest of hitches (at least, on the face of it anyway).

As for Osarius, you will die a slow and painful death.

Congrats Vil. It took you 48 WCs but you finally won your second WC!

And it sucks you lost FFR despite my IC hatred for your nation you and Vil deserved to lift the title. c:

And lastly, nice job to Legal and FFR in hosting the tournament. Lots of surprises but I'll take it, it made this edition more enjoyable.

I guess trying to intentionally lose every match didn't exactly work out all that well.

Congrats to both of our new champions.

The only thing I regret is that I can't do the whole "paper champion" thing I had planned (or the Rule Theriault victory speech I had also planned), if I had somehow fluked into winning the World Cup. I know I never really got around to it in my RPs, but I definitely perceived those matches as being decided by blatantly offside goals, diving (resulting in bogus penalty kicks), handball goals that the ref missed and every other ridiculous and less than credible manner you could imagine.

Anyone else find it brilliant the Arch wins the CoH trying to lose every match, when he won CoH 52 trying to lose ever match as well... Maybe you should try to lose more often...
