Without any further delay*....
* Translation: I had/still have many post-World Cup Final RP lines in mind. Instead of trying to cram them all into one huge World Cup Final RP, the creation of the World Cup 69 signup thread encouraged me to keep it simple and get the match report posted so that I wasn't grave digging the WC68 RP thread midway through WC69! That said, the effects of the World Cup Championship in Vilita have already been incorporated and RP'd in the UICA season, and will continue to be revealed in future RP opportunities!

The Vilitan account of the World Cup 68 Final

Thanks to the hosts, Legalese and the Free Republics, and to everyone who we've played against in (and who undoubtedly at some point in the past 10 years, eliminated us from) the World Cup - and to everyone else. Don't ever forget that this is just a game. While that certainly means it should not be taken so seriously that it supersedes real-life, it should always be remembered that its meant to be fun and its all based on random numbers - and more importantly, what 'creative minds' can come up with either in the form of writing reports, stories, poems - creating graphics and at some points even songs and videos. I feel like not only the quantity, but in many examples, the quality of RP submissions this day in age can be quite high, and I am certainly humbled to have re-claimed the pinnacle of success in this modern-era of the NSWC. I only hope I can keep up with everyone else in World Cup 69 to give defending the title a decent shot!

P.S. no rush to get the next cup going, I may never win another one of these things so i'm happy to be 'reigning champ' for as long as possible! :p

Is outrage!

Is not dress, is mantiya!

God-fearing Orthodox bishops are not doing the wearing of girly dresses, but rather wearing of mantiya, which is more like cape that the superheroes are wearing; though I am doing conceding that beards they are having.

But what Fr. Vasily is wanting to know is where Starblaydia Football Association is finding photograph of new Archregimancy coaching team?

If you signed up now, you're in. The list is really just formalising everything, and it's useful when it comes time to close sign-ups.

Until someone bids to host it, that's a question I can't really answer accurately, I'm afraid.

Once someone bids the option to bid will close before two weeks is up and I'll host a vote, assuming there are bids for both competitions. After that, timings are up to the hosts, but at this point we're looking at at least a month until the World Cup starts.

Oh dear, that's inconvenient. Well, I guess I can have a go at the Baptism of Fire and then see how it goes next cycle.

I would like to note that the signup for The Royal Barangay should include this nation, which is formatted similarly to THE, and Crystal Empire. (eg. The Royal Barangay [Sangti]). This is for the prospective hosts of the WC 69 to send a possible telegram to this account, as I do not use the other account regularly.

Thanks.

Corrupt Dictatorship

Postby Astograth » Thu Jun 05, 2014 1:24 pm

I've been putting this off for a while for no real reason, but it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise given my recent lack of activity that I've decided to leave NS Sports for the time-being. Now, this forum has been a constant in my life for the last three years and I'm very very grateful for it - I've had a fantastic time, met loads of wonderful, creative people and learned a lot - but I just don't have the time to remain active. Not that this is a bad thing, rather it's a product of RL things actually going great for me (not that they were ever bad tbh), but I'm still saddened to leave so many things hanging and falling out of the usual UICA/WC cycle routine.

As far as IC continuity goes (and I'm all for IC continuity) my nation's current dictatorial situation is convenient for a general retreat from international participation, so just assume I've cut off all ties indefinitely. Not that this was always the plan - I even meant to change my flag to further tie into the Corvidae storyline, but there's not much point now and I'd rather keep the one I've always used. The FAF will be leaving the WCC and UICA, and all foreign players in the Astograthian Football League are released from their contracts; needless to say, the fate of Astograthian/Iturributan players abroad are now subject to the whims of that league's owner.

I might be back at some point, though I doubt it'll ever be with the same intensity as over the last three years. I reckon I'll see you circa 2021 to do an Audio and win consecutive World Cups, or possibly for Polar Islandstates/Astograth: The World Cup to Rule Them All, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Though I did promise CH my take on RLStates WC 20...

Anyway, cheers, and carry on the good work!

So you basically encourage Esportiva to go to war with your dangerous ideologies, and then you fly away into the sunset. Typical. Not even sticking around to clear up your mess...
