In the rankings? I believe alphabetical order in that case, but I'm not sure. Could be random.

I think the most accurate answer, if you really need to know why one nation is listed ahead of another in a sorted excel document, would be "Whichever nation had a higher KPB ranking the last time the two nations in question had different KPB values"

Otherwise, if both nations are new "Whichever nation was entered into the ranking sheet first"

Otherwise, for an answer relevant to the actual ranking "There is no tiebreaker necessary"

Phew, that was a close-run thing.

But then defeating higher-ranked teams has never been the monks' real problem.

I've been invited to the CoH? Awesome! And the customary ''Thank Margaret!'' :)
Now I only have one question:

If you are not yet ready to declare your roster, then please temporarily copy & paste your World Cup roster in lieu of that.

Is there anything else that we need to put in our CoH roster, except for, of course, a changed introduction/storyline?

Falling short of the WC finals is grounds for dismissing the coaching staff and/or phasing out older players in favor of younger ones, to season them for the next WC campaign.

This is, of course, purely for RP purposes; newer nations like yourself that may or may not have been (in-character) expecting their nation to make the finals might decide to retain all of their players, or most of them, and bring them back for another World Cup. If you have characters that you've enjoyed RPing with, by all means keep them around, develop them further, and bring them back for WC66.

If you'd like an excuse to change your modifier, the Cup of Harmony is a great excuse to fire your coach and replace him/her with a new one. If you'd like to hire a coach from another nation, for RP purposes or for the joy of collaborating with another nation, now's a great time to do that.

I cannot emphasize enough that these are purely roleplaying decisions, and that your fate in the CoH will be determined by your rank, RAND, and the quality of your RPs. Whatever personnel decisions you make should be based entirely on the answer to the question "What will I have the most fun roleplaying about during the Cup of Harmony?"

N'aw, you're welcome. Glad the Acquans' efforts this cycle were appreciated. They were fun to write, I must say, and that song in particular has changed my view of the Grand High Cardinal forever, adding a neat Thenardier-style streak that is no bad thing, imo. They were appreciated by Margaret, too, as that marks their first ever qualification! Commiserations to Paradystopia, as well, as I too giggled like a loon are "strength of our pee".

No doubt you'll have guessed that my time to read/write RPs this cycle has been extremely limited, hence me 'dropping' the Bjarnarey RPs in favour of concentrating on the Acquans once I realised the Terns were qualified, but I will be reading the thread over lunchtimes this week and will no doubt enjoy a lot.

Early props to Arch, who, after having no time to RP, then moved to Dubai and promptly RPed about it being 'damned hot'.

Per the RP thread:

Tue Jul 9: Playoff 2nd leg
Wed Jul 10: Finals Draw
Thu Jul 11: Bye
Fri Jul 12: MD1

So probably ~72 from the time the second playoff leg was scorinated?

It's actually become hotter since I landed. It was 34-38 the first week, but then 44 (celsius) yesterday and today, with the weekend predicted to cool down to a balmy 42.

I went outside yesterday at 5:30 PM, and my eyeballs actually hurt from the heat.

This is the hottest I've been since I drove across the Sahara in the middle of summer before most of you were born (1989), and it reached 50; but that was a dry heat. Dubai is right next to the sea, so it's humid as well as hot.

Still, that desert training regime seems to have been working for Fr. Basil - his team are undefeated since I actually started RP'ing about the heat.

I am going to be in great amounts of trouble, I'm sure.

Also, no RPing from me from this evening onwards until at least Monday, I would imagine. Marriage and all that on Friday ;)

To those participating in the World Cup Finals, please note that Pasarga and I have updated our nation and staidum information (as if you guys wouldn't have looked anyway :P ) in the RP thread. So to all the "new" Finalists, there's a good reference for you, and to all the old fogies, well, you already know the drill (I hope).
