Well, this post isn't exactly football-related. Nevertheless, this is not only an OOC thread but also the best way to reach the largest portion of the NS Sports community with one post.

One year ago as I write, my wife was undergoing surgery for stage 2B pancreatic cancer. At that time, she was given about even-money odds to survive for one year; 7.7% for five years. Today, although she is still recovering from side effects of her completed chemotherapy there appears to be no active cancer.

You folks have been one of many sources of strength and support that have carried us through the tough times. Thank you.

We are glad to know your wife is doing well. We will keep her in our prayers - and you as well.

It is amazing how NS can be so meaningful to all of us for our own reasons. All of you are like a huge extended family - even with disfunctional Qazox. lol just kidding.

Sometimes I think it would be neat to have an RL NS geek party. That would probably never happen - and might not be as good as it sounds... :D

Babbage I haven't been a good Christian, for one thing I'm Liberal but that's another story. However it is always great knowing that the Lord is up there, watching over us all and with his help, he will comfort us all in times of peril. Hopefully your wife will live for a long time on Earth with you and your children; however don't forget that heaven is waiting for us all and that one day we'll all be with our ancestors, our closest family and friends and our descendants in heaven.

I'd like to refer you to this:

In an effort to provide the best possible Baptism of Fire experience to all competitors during this 43rd edition The organizational committees of ASMV and K&P have a major announcement to make.

Two nations that were originally accepted to participate in this edition of the BoF have been lost somewhere in the multiverse (CTE) and can not be found. That means we must now say goodbye to Total Pownage and Southern Canuckland before the competition begins.

As the next two qualified requests to join the BoF were made by Yankees123 and Savski Vernac, these two nations will replace the lost ones as we move forward. Yankees123 will take Total Pownage’s position in Group D and play in ASMV while Savski Vernac will travel to K&P and replace Southern Canuckland in Group F.

Please note that these changes will not affect the timing of the tournament which is still scheduled to get underway between 10pm and Midnight (CST US) tonight.

Thank you all for your time.

ASMV, surely my puppet Citadel of Cittagazze should be ahead of Yankees123 and Savski Vernac as it is no longer CTE'd and signed up before they did

I missed that completely, but as Honourable Angels has jsu withdrawn from the BoF via TG, they have a spot in Group A to be played in ASMV. See ya there

The NYAN NYAN of Honourable Angels (6 minutes ago)

Apologies, I completely forgot this commitment. I need to withdraw, as I'm in Russia for the next few weeks, with extremely limited internet connection. I apologise for the inconvienience, and hope I can try again for the 44th.

not sure if they meant for the WC as well. Will leave that up to Val and Sorth.

On another note, it is time to solicit sign ups for the 13th edition of the Mike Sarzo Memorial Trophy!

We will accept four nations besides the "anchor nations" of host nation Sarzonia, co-founders Starblaydia, and Delaclava and Krytenia.

Wondering for the next time around, are there any qualifications a nation has to have to be in MSMT, considering it seems all the nations signed up are established football nations?

I support this idea. It would help bring in more teams to the tournament, but at the same time you'd still have the same 8 team competition running along side the World Cup, with the qualifying stage set before the Cup begins. Say, start qualifying between the BoF and the WC proper.
