Sorthern Northland, Valanora, ASMV, and myself will need to coordinate a time at which the signups will be cut off, but a thread should be up within a matter of days, possibly even over the weekend. We'll see, though. Try to be patient, it won't be much longer.

Thanks to the EWCC for placing your trust in ASMV and myself, we won't let you down!

Thanks bunches. It means a lot to get the nod to host the BoF when the competition for the host spot was as worthy and capable as it was.

Just need to see where we cut the signups and we will be off and running.

Congrats to ASMV/K&P for earning the right to host the next BoF.

Thanks to the ONE EWCC member who voted for my bid... the money is on its way, I just need the account # to transfer the money to you...

Guess I'll just have to bid for the next CoH and the next BoF again...until the EWCC finally just gets sick and tired of me putting up bids and just votes me in to stop me from bidding.

On a mostly unrelated note, wasn't there once a proposal for the BoF/CoH/WC bids to be anonymous and the nation(s) behind the bid(s) be revealed once the voting was complete? I think the WCC president was to have the bids sent to them, and the president was to post the bids on behalf of the bidders. Or have I been mistaken?

Don't remember that, but surely the identity would be given away when it came to hosting experience, if people were bothered enough to do any kind of research. Forexample, they'd find out that Nation X is the only nation to have hosted a Baptism of Fire and a cycling tournament so that's his bid, and Nation Y hosted a Cup of Harmony and an independent football tournament, so that must be his bid, so it'd be kinda useless imo.

Don't know what the policy used to be, but there's certainly a reason that we don't have that policy anymore.

I think anything that did not pertain specifically to the details of the bid itself (ie: previous hostings, # of events participated in, etc) was taken out.

I think the main reason why it never got past a poposal was that someone could have conceiveably bid for any of the events and then won; and that person could have literally just signed up a nation days before the bidswer du and h oreal idea of what to do.

As I am currently participating in four active sports RP's presently I have noticed a trend of newer roleplayers lately:

The tag of "Reserving spot, will RP later"; or a one or two sentence opening, and then saying you will finish it later. I'm not sure why this trend has been developing, but it can be bad RP'ing etiquette. The "reserving a spot" is completely pointless. Where you're roleplay is, in order, between matchday cutoffs doesn't mean anything, and only serves as extra work for your host to go back and check, and you can be assured that the majority of other RPers aren't going to go back and read if they don't otherwise have a reason.

As far as a couple sentences and getting back to it here's the deal, in my opinion: Ok if you won the game. Bad form if you lost the game. When I have done this on rare occasions, it has mainly been because I knew my opponent was going to RP first, and I wanted to name a scorer or a brief event. If you do this, you should be getting back to the RP within a couple of hours, too, or else in my opinion, the opponent is free to ignore what you posted, entirely.

Just things to keep in mind as many of these users will be entering the BoF and/or World Cup in the upcoming cycle.

I have been guilty of this in the past, however, it is because I do not have a lot of time, so I prefer to put out a short rp just naming my scores rather than not doing it at all.

I absolutely agree.
I have looked upon these tags with confusion and I can't for the life of me work out why some users find them so appealing. If there are no details relating to the event in the tag post, there is no point to it. Personally, I will ignore any tagged post that doesn't have any match details in it and assume I am the first to RP the event.
