The Baptism of Iron is the NSverse's prequel tournament to the premier American Football tournament, the World Bowl. For new nations only, this is your one chance to make history, your one chance to claim this prestigious title, and a great opportunity to gain a few crucial rankings points to boost your chances going into the 17th World Bowl.
So 30 teams will battle it out over 8 RL days in the hopes to be crowned, the Champions of the 11th Baptism of Iron. From your groups, 8 teams will qualify for the playoffs, in which 3 days will settle the men from the boys, as we reach our final here in the beautiful country, Michael VII.
New to RPing?
We all were once, and thankfully, you've made the right choice here to start your journey in the World Bowl. You could be a seasoned pro here on NS Sports, however, if you've never competed here before, here's a few points.
-This thread is where you are to post your team's Roster, Role Plays, and RP Permissions.
-While none of the above are "compulsory", your chances of winning are greatly improved after RPing, especially when it is judged to be creative, well done, and consistent. A roster will help out you in your RPs, and others for theirs, should they RP about the result of the game. Your roster post will also count towards your RP bonus.
-RPs can be about anything. Literally anything. They don't even need to be about the Baptism of Iron, or even sports related. Many users here have had resounding success with non-related RPs. Its all up to you, and that's the beauty of it. Just find your style, and have as much fun RPing as we all do. After all, if we didn't like it, we wouldn't do it would we?
Necessary Points to know
-RPing doesn't guarantee a win. Scorinators are random at heart and provide a scoring medium to RP about, whether it be a win or loss, and don't provide a guarantee for anything. Upsets happen, and non-RPing teams win occasionally, however about 90% of the time, the RPing team when rank points are even, will win. RPing boosts your chances of a win, but won't guarantee it.
-And please, PLEASE, follow another user's RP Permissions. There is actually nothing worse than following an RP that your opponent has made and they have broken your rules. Godmodding for example being one.
Godmodding is when you RP about events that are extraordinary and almost never would occur in real life. If you want your sports events to be quite realistic, don't allow Godmodding, or GMing. If you honestly don't care, then don't say that you don't want GMing. Your decision.
To help out with RPs, here is a list of things that you should provide in your first RP/roster post.
- Code: Select all
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my scorers: Y/N
Choose scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
Godmod injuries: Y/N
Godmod other events: Y/N
