Scott Cup (Tennis) - RP/Results

Postby Delaclava » Sat Sep 12, 2009 8:17 pm

Welcome to the Scott Cup! The Scott Cup is a tennis tournament, held in Delaclava, that resembles the RL Hopman Cup.

The basic premise is this: each country sends ONE male tennis player and ONE female tennis player. When playing against another country, there will be one men's singles match, one women's singles match, and one mixed doubles match. Whichever country wins more matches records a win.

I'll go over a more detailed format later once I have signups. Right now I'd like to get eight countries, just to try this out. I might expand if spots fill quickly. (EDIT: Wow that was fast. Going to 16 here.) No puppets for the moment, please. I'll be using one of either Uiri's or Liventia's scorinator; either way, you can trust it'll be a good scorinator.

This tournament is NOT affiliated with the NIFT.

So get signing up!

Just so people know, I decided to host what would have been the next NIFT open after the olympics so that the two wouldn't conflict with each other so much. Please do carry on though.

I didn't mean for this to run over other tournaments at all. I apologize however if that's the case.

Please state in the opening post that this is NOT affiliated with the NIFT. Thank you.

(this is not a signup)

Three things:
1) Please definitively tell us which scorinator you will use.
2) Is the scorinating of this going to be rushed the way the football tournament you hosted was?
3) How will you evaluate RP and calculate RP bonus given your inexperience at actually RPing in tournaments?

I've no idea how these sorts of things work, and I'll admit I've never done anything of the sort, but...why not! I love tennis and it could be fun, who knows. :p

As for Playing In The Water ('Plaithwa' if you want a shorter, more nation-like title) players...hmn.

Female Player: Kim Caravella

Signups updated through Connar Republic.

To answer you, Newmanistan:
1) Right now I'm still testing both to see which one I believe is more effective.
2) No it won't. The reason the football tournament got rushed was because football is a more complex scorination and some unexpected things came up.
3) Basically, it's going to be a scale of 1-3: 1 is basically existing, and nothing else, 2 is a decent RP, and 3 is an excellent RP. Since many of these players don't have past experience, and this isn't affiliated with the NIFT anyway, it'll start with basically becoming the score for MD1, then after that multiplying incrementally.

By the way, New, I'm not sure how I could be considered an "inexperienced" RPer. Before I ran out of time with school I RPed very frequently.

andrewboy tenis players suporting new rackets

Postby Andrewboy » Sun Sep 13, 2009 7:22 am

eric larson and julie flanders are going to be using the new supersmash airodynamic tennis rackets at the upcomng scott cup.the supersmash airodynamic tennis racket is reinforced and is increadalby strong.its airodyniamic form allowes the user to get extra swing on smases, lobs and serves.its allowes to user to swing more on a backswing and is great for volleys.it is also very light although not great for short shots due to the great power the user gets behind the swing.

One other rule I should note about this: the RL Hopman Cup has the men's singles match a best-of-3. This will be changed to a best-of-5 for the Scott Cup.

Playing in the Water: You RP (roleplay) to increase your team's chances of winning matches. You can look at the guide to sports Rping for more details but basically you put some commentary on how you're team is doing (newspaper report, players talking, interview, you choose) and from there all hell brakes loose.
Milchama Sports achievements:
World Baseball Classic 23 Champion! Arrosia Regional Championship 2 Champion!
