Back in. Although, TBI, I'd like to ask about the qualifying round; wouldn't an even number of games (say, four, generally more than three) work better for weeding out teams, or is time a major issue here? If it is, forget I said anything.

I don't want to start a big discussion here, if it evolves that way it needs to go to the discussion thread. Let's just say I'm thinking outside of the box, in large part because I firmly believe that shorter events work better overall. Even vs odd doesn't matter so much if all games are on neutral ground as they are in the proposal. Otherwise, even is strongly preferred as it allows for home-and-home or at least 50/50 splits.

In NSFS 2.0.7.2, it's implemented as NFL rules sudden death.

Signups are updated through A White Hawk. That's 29 total, 12 debutants, and one host bid. (People should double check and make sure I've got the debutants list correct.)

Then... post one.

Signups updated through Qazox, which puts us at 35 with 13 newcomers. Signups remain wide open and will remain so at least until the host bid deadline ten days from now. Also, since we have a sizable crop of newcomers, Baptism of Iron bids should also go up for consideration.

Since we are likely to go over 40 teams, and are even more likely to have a Baptism of Iron to complicate scheduling, I will be posting amendments to my bid later today to cover 44-48-52-56 teams and set a new schedule.

EDIT: The amended bid has been posted.
