Kristina- "Hello Jim. I am here outside of Lindsay Gym in downtown Sorochuk as we await Chuck Olsen to finish his training session. Here he comes now."

Chuck- "Hello, everyone. How are all of you doing?"

Kristina- "Great, Chuck. But you're the one we've all been waiting to see. How does it feel to be stepping up to the NSBO?"

Chuck- "It's great. This will certainly be an excellent experience for me. I am proud to represent my country and wave the Vauganian flag for all to see. It is definitely exciting."

Kristina- "What are you doing to prepare for your upcoming bouts?"

Chuck- "Me and my team have been stepping up the training routine and have been going into overdrive. We don't know what we are going to face so we are making sure everything is perfect. Training periods have been extended and everyone, including myself, have set the bar even higher. We will be facing off against some of the world's best boxers and we are doing everything we can to make sure I am in top condition."

Kristina- "What do you plan to accomplish in the NSBO?"

Chuck- "I want to at least hone my skills, but my team and I are gunning for the title. Everyone in the ring is desirous to be the champion."

Kristina- "Thanks, Chuck. You heard here first, folks. Chuck Olsen is gunning for the NSBO title to carry his country to glory. Back to you, Jim."

(OOC: What Vaugania said. Great job!)

"Welcome to Fillydelphia Five, your number one sauce for Sports News in our nation's capital! I'm Laurence McCarthy here for your ringside report on the boxers Karditan is sending to beat the crap out of the international community! Even for just a practice bout, a huge crowd showed up to cheer on Baron Ringer and Clark Jackson. Let's go to Ollie to see who won."

"Ringer!"

"Thank you, Ollie. Now let's look at some of the highlights for those of you who didn't get off your lazy flanks to see this in person. Let's see... Jack in the Box is living up to his name, hopping all over the ring, but that doesn't seem to phase Ringer at all. The Iron Horse just keeps chugging along and barreling in. Ringer is beating on Jackson... still beating on Jackson... still beating on Jackson... and Jackson is down! That was nasty. Who knew hooves could fly like that? Oh wait, he's back up... and it doesn't look like Ringer has got what it takes to finish him off. Jackson is taking some jabs... and Ringer rings Jackson's bell! Damn, I felt that, and I'm looking at the video! Well, let me tell you right now, this fight was more of the same. Let's not waste your time, but there is one moment that every boxing enthusiast needs to see:

(Clip of Round 7, around 2:40, plays)

"I don't even know how someone can punch high and carry that much force! Jack pops out of his box when you least expect it, and you better hope you're not on the receiving end of that surprise. However, it wasn't enough and Ringer walked away the winner. Let's hope that Jackson will be able to use his agility better in the international scene, and that Ringer will keep plowing through the ranks. Stay tuned for the next exciting installment of, 'Who wants to be an Immigrant!'"

Alik Kozlov is getting ready for his debut into pro boxing. As he was getting ready his trainer came up and they had a talk.

Alik's Trainer: Heard your debut is next Wednesday
Alik: Yeah (nervously punching the bag)
Alik's Trainer: You think you're ready?
Alik: I'll have to be sooner or later (threw a vicious cross at the bag)
Alik's Trainer: Listen don't worry it's gonna be fine just stick with what we learned and throw more of those combos we practiced, but be careful, don't tire yourself out. Try to get with the rhythm and learn his gameplay a little bit. Be smart with your strikes and when time comes don't hesitate...
Alik: Yeah I know...listen thanks for your help coach I really wouldn't have gotten this far without you. I really gotta get going though...
Alik's Trainer: Here, before you go take this (hands him a sports bag)
Alik: What's this? (opened the bag and took out boxing wear)
Alik's Trainer: I wore this to my first professional bout...I'm not gonna need this anymore anyways. There's also a contact card, I hooked you up with some great coaches to get you ready for your exhibition on Wednesday
Alik: Thanks a lot coach :)...I guess I'll see you at the fight, you'll come right?
Alik's Trainer: Of course man!
Alik: Alright, thanks again coach see you on Wednesday.

With only a few days before the two greatest Phalnian pugilists head off to St. Mellons to test their mettle they can be found in the gym hard at work. Both men are training hard as a suit clad man enters accompanied by a camera crew.
"This is Alfonzo Ruitz here in the famous Champions Arena's training room. Now let's see if we can... Yes they are! Derin, Eric! Mind if we get a quick interview?"
Both men look to their respective trainers who nod in approval. The two men walk over to the camera and reporter while wiping the sweat out off their eyes.
"Glad to see you boys hard at work. Now, are you nervous about your international debuts?"
Speaking first Eric sounds cocky. "Well, I'd be more nervous if I was going up against me or Derin."
Derin bumps Eric playfully. "Seriously though both of us are a little unsure about fighting so far from home."
"It's well known that both of you go back pretty far." Both men nod in agreement. "Are you worried about the possibility of having to go up against one another?"
Derin speaks first this time. "If we did it wouldn't be the first time."
"If it came down to me and Derin the outcome wouldn't really affect our friendship." Adds Eric.
A whistle blows signaling the fighters back to practice.
"Alright we'll get out of your way. Good luck out their boys!" Alfonzo and the crew head towards the door. "You heard it here first ladies and gentlemen. Eric and Derin, both ready for the upcoming week's bouts. Back to you in the studio."
A blond women and large man are sitting behind a news desk. "Thank you Alfonso." The woman says. "Remember folks we'll be broadcasting both fighter's campaigns starting January 30th with Derin fighting first against Frank Matthews and Eric fighting third against Clark Jackson."

Jim- "This is Jim Reilly with Vaugania Sports News! Today we have an exclusive interview with boxer, Chuck Olsen. We go to Kristina Martin with the man himself to get his take on the Baron Ringer fight against his countryman, Clark Jackson.

Kristina- "Thanks, Jim. Well here I am; in a folding chair in the middle of the practice ring at Lindsay Gym. And sitting next to me I have Chuck Olsen. First of all, Chuck, did you watch this fight?"

Chuck- "Absolutely. There was no way I would pass up a chance to see two of my opponents' tactics in action"

Kristina- "Do you think watching that spar gives you an advantage going in to your Monday Night Fight against 'The Iron Horse'?"

Chuck- "At least a little bit. I just saw my next opponent in the ring. Now I know more of what he is going to do, but he knows less about my style of boxing."

Kristina- "What did you think of the fight?"

Chuck- "It was a great fight. I could see the passion of both of these guys come alive. It looks lke I'm going to have to be even quicker than 'Jack in the Box'. My team and I have been spending a lot of on footwork and speed so we can overcome Ringer's size advantage."

Jim- "Chuck Olsen vs. Baron Ringer. Monday Night Fight. Don't miss it!"

In Lindsay Gym as Chuck is jumping rope...

"Les Croupier Casino is coming up," says Chuck's trainer.
"Yep. That's why I'm jumping rope," Chuck responds.
"Ringer is a big guy and a hard worker. You're gonna have to reach high to get a good uppercut. Keep quick and buy yourself some time.
"I know. I'm worried about the strength of those punches."
"Don't worry about it too much. Keep your combos up to par and you'll do fine. Move over to the punching bag."
"Okay. Jabs?"
"Yep. Those'll keep you conscious. If you find an oppurtunity for a quick jab, do it. A lot of little punces will be quite a bit over 12 rounds. You'll do fine as long as you don't worry about it. You are the best boxer in Vaugania. You have already seen him fight. Use your best combos whenever you can. I'm sure you think all these things I'm telling are obvious, but you know what nerves can do?"
"I know about 'em. I appreciate you doing this, Dmitri. It really means a lot."
"Your welcome. One last hard jab. BRING IT!"
The bag shudders from the force of Chuck's punch.
"Good session?"
"Absolutely. Hit the showers. Be sure to be on the plane to St. Mellons. You can't win a fight if you aren't there."

Baron decided to do one last stamina exercise before he went off to St. Mellons for the first bout. That's why he found himself pounding up Mt. Sheerclif with a train engine (and caboose) strapped to his yoke.

"Why do we even have engines for the trains if we don't have any coal to make them run...?"

His trainer let off the steam whistle, leaned out, and held on to his engineer's cap. "Stop philosophizing and get pulling! We need to get to the airstrip soon or we'll miss the flight. Let's get a move on!"

Baron tucked his head down and started pumping his legs. The slope was steep and the train was heavy, but he'd won the tractor pull at the county fair seven years running. He hooked his hooves onto the planks under the rails to fling himself forward and jostled the yoke so it didn't throttle him. The wheels started squealing as the train suddenly lurched forward- the trainer lost his hat at the gust of wind. The train shuddered around a bend in the tracks, but Baron kept accelerating. They crested a false peak and the caboose nearly jumped the track. He started to lay off the speed as they approached the real peak; Baron crested the tip then, sure that momentum would pull the train over the top, slipped off the yoke and jumped to the side. He misjudged it, though- the caboose was past him by the time he turned around.

"Aw, hayseed!" He shot down after the train, which was picking up speed real fast. Nearly ten minutes of a full gallop later, Baron reached out and grabbed the railing of the caboose with his muzzle and just barely managed to pull himself up. He collapsed onto a couch inside when he heard a rhythmic patter further in the cabin. He peeked over the back of the couch to see Clark jumping rope. "How long you been at that, pardner?"

Clark spun around without missing a step. "Nonstop since we started up the mountain."

Baron raised an eyebrow. "Even when this cab damn near jumped the tracks?"

"Yup. You have hooves of steel, I have feathers for feet."

The train shuddered to a halt and the trainer flung open the door of the caboose. "Come on you slowpokes, the airship is leaving in five minutes! And stop jumping, Clark. Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, all the time! I know you gotta be quick but it's driving me crazy. There'll be a punching bag set up on the airship, you're going to spend at least half the trip beating the stuffing out of it, got it? Get some force behind those taps you call punches."

Chuck is jogging in St. Mellons. This part of the RP takes place in his mind.

I can't let this guy beat me. I am my country's best. I am the Viking he is the Iron Horse. Horses can be tamed, vikings cannot. This is my fight to win. I am one of the best. He can be toppled. I must do so early and precisely. Jab, jab, hook, uppercut. Jab, jab, hook, uppercut. I can't forget that. I practiced it over and over again. It will get me one step closer to the title. I want that title. I want it bad. Stop, don't think about that right now. Just think about Ringer think over his weaknesses, his strengths, and what you can do to exploit them. Okay, Chuck, I got it. Let's roll out.

Out of Chuck's mind.

Chuck continued jogging down the street. To his surprise, a pedestrian recognized him.

"Hey. Aren't you Chuck Olsen?" the pedestrian said.
"Yes. Yes I am," Chuck responded.
"Well I'm gonna be cheering you on from the stands during your fight. There's something I just don't like about Ringer."
"Thanks a lot. It means a lot to me that you'll be cheering for me."

Chuck continued down the street with his confidence high. He reached the training facilities. Dmitri was inside.
