I'll be salty too if I somehow make it to the Finals, or heaven forbid actually win. It'll mean that I have to postpone my retirement for at least one more WBC.

Search your feelings.

But srsly congrats.

Still, I must admit that I'm a bit sad that I'm not in the finals.

I had a better rank, more RP's, a better w/l, and the top sead.

And I'm still not in the finals. All that work getting really good over the years, gone.

But, congrats on the underdog victory.

Congratulations to our new five-time champion! Wow, we waited so long for someone to get more than four, and then we finally get to five, and the very next season, somebody else gets there! (Guess who's next? *wink wink*)

Here is an update on the Hall of Fame spreadsheet! This time, we have a whopping three nations eligible to be elected in: Lycrabon, Sangti/The Royal Barangay, and Free Republics!

The following nations received HOF points in WBC 42:
-Free Republics received 3 points for doing an excellent job hosting. This makes them eligible to be voted into the HOF.
-Super-Llamaland receives 6 points for being our WBC 42 champion, which pushes them up to 50 HOF points, passing both Zwangzug and Qazox on the all-time list, and putting them in second place, trailing only Newmanistan.
-Darmen receives 4 points for being the runners up, which moves them up to 14 HOF points all-time.
-Scootalove City receives 2 points for finishing in third, which increases their HOF points up to 3.
-Cassadaigua receives 1 point for finishing in fourth, which increases them to 40 HOF points, making them the fifth team in history to join the 40-point club.

ALSO: A discussion I would like to bring to the group. When we added the HOF amendment to the WBC constitution, we decided that it would be unconstitutional to combine the HOF point totals of Free Republics and Ilyseum (FFR's puppet), since Ilyseum was officially used as a puppet nation, rather than a main nation, but I was starting to reconsider, because otherwise, FFR would not get credit for co-hosting WBC 37, and that does not seem right. What are your thoughts on this?

I think that if we're combining nations with the same user that weren't actually the same nation IC-ly, then it makes sense (as it makes the HOF more about recognizing OOC users rather than IC nations). I'd support combining their point totals.

The constitution does not support combining totals, but I thought that maybe we could make an exception for the WBC 37 hosting of Ilyseum, because the user behind it should still get credit for his main nation, since he hosted, even though he hosted via a puppet for IC reasons. That is just my opinion, but maybe we should leave it as it is, because otherwise it might get too complicated.

Calculating a few of the top team's ranks (this might not be accurate), I think the current top 7 are

Super-Llamaland 5.15
Cassadaigua 4.34
Scootalove 4.27
Newmanistan 4.23
Darmen 3.72
Schiltzberg 3.69

I'm a bit puzzled as to why Saintland and Free Republics are being counted as a single nation for HoF purposes. They are ICly separate nations and have both been entered in the same WBC in the past. Would Ilyseum also count with them if I hadn't entered Saintland in WBC 37?
