Very good indeed! I will probably do some poem RPs too in the near future.

Taeshan did not start until WBC 3, and did not participate in 16 or 17, so he would not be greater then 14 straight Classics.

Unfortunately not all of the hosts included the ranking numbers in some editions. This looks like a Zwangzug record, just a question of how straight classics it is.

I'm looking into the details of it to see if I can find the record, but like you say, not all the hosts posted the rankings, so it is difficult.

I liked “Are you in love, my friend?” I enjoy when people post original artistic content, perhaps especially because that’s not my forte.

And I appreciate the good people who responded to my query and are taking the time to investigate and respond. It means a lot that the NS Sports community is so inquisitive.

The thing that has struck me most about the community here is how it is so much more diverse and open-minded than P2TM.

I always figured if there was any of the RP forums that would be interesting to get into, it would be P2TM because, at least in theory, it allows the most freedom to choose what you RP about. In practice, it's hard to find a P2TM thread that you can join without reading hundreds of posts just to get up to speed. When you do find one, most of the time, the premise will be incredibly limiting, the character creation process will be pointlessly complicated for no goddamn reason, and/or the OP will randomly decree that all characters must be white.

I was pleasantly surprised to come in here and find an RP I could actually get into. Thanks to the WBC organizers for making a fun and accessible RP.

Baseinator Feedback:

The midway point is a good time to take a look at the data that our new scorinator is producing, since everyone has played everyone else in their group the same amount of times. I was looking at the midway point data provided by Baseinator in comparison to xkoranate's data midway through WBC 41. My first impression was that run scoring seemed to be higher with baseinator, but an overall picture proved that to not be a factor at all. With the addition of style modifiers and park factors into play, I feel that baseinator has done a great job in that regard. However, one thing I have wondered if games across the board, are too close, when top teams are playing bottom teams. While the recent Free Republics rout of Krossa bucks that trend, I think the jury is still out on that. Maybe that's because of the style modifiers, or maybe its just because the sample size is too small. I think it is a combination of both, so I will be looking more at the end of the qualifying session. Overall, I think baseinator has done a great job, but one thing I wonder about too is if the bad teams are bad enough. Small sample size, really.

A question I have for Free Republics is: Is there a built in home field advantage for the home team? I'm wondering if that should be increased a tad (or maybe the 2 of 3 losses to Yoannes at home out of no where irked me a tad too much to swing my opinion).

This is just some general feedback.... this competition uses a new scorinator and so far we haven't talked about it all that much. In the end, that is probably a good thing.

As far as Baseinator goes, I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'm probably boned this time, but I'm not the greatest authority on results.

I just want to comment on the physical output of the scorinator. I guess this is just personal preference, but what I liked about xkoranate is that all the spacing, on the tables, and the linescores, are all uniform. I've gotten used to the tables all having the same length between names and numbers and the numbers being spaced out. Like I said, this just feels like a personal preference, but the numbers being so close together on the tables and linescores make them look cluttered. But that's probably just me.

It would be nice to have a gap separating the final scores from the individual innings. There was one game where St. Saratoga and I went 12 innings, and the score was 13-14. Having the 13 runs in the next column after the 12th inning without a gap made it almost look like it was saying 13 or 14 innings. I had trouble reading it, and then when St. Saratoga RPed, they wrote 13 innings, so I think they must have had the same problem.

If you are going to make the bad teams worse, I think that should be specifically targeted at teams with no roster or no RPs. I understand the reason for giving an advantage to people who have taken the time to build up a track record, but you don't want to make it too difficult for new people to break in. Punishing teams for being unranked makes it harder for new players to get going. Punishing teams that don't post a roster or RP gives people a reason to post rosters and RP. People shouldn't be complaining about how hard it is to get going if they haven't even tried.

So, I'd like to apologize for the lack of decent Roleplay in this tournament. I know Lisander (as a top 30 team) deserves a lot of better writing, but as some of you may know, I was mugged last Saturday night, so it took me a bit to recover. Lacking patience to RP, I lost track of the results and Lisander isn't qualifying.
