That's the wonders of randomness. People could post a novella about their match and still lose out to someone who just posted a limerick about their cat or didn't make a post at all.
Roleplaying just makes the posts more fun and an added boost to maybe help you win a game.

Just to throw this out there: I am thinking about opening signups for WBC 42 on approximately Jan 10th.

That seems like a good idea.

I have been working on a new version of Baseinator of late which will make it much more viable for use in tournaments and domestic leagues. I believe that using the new version of Baseinator to scorinate the WBC will actually take less time than using Xkoranate. I should have the new version out before the end of the year.

Baseinator 1.2 is now available. The source code is also available.

Major changes with this version include:

1) Support for "divisions".
2) A "Scorinate X Round Robin" option (which scorinates the entire thing in 1 go)
3) An option to scorinate a single matchday of a round robin at a time
4) A table generator (which uses the results.txt file to produce a table)

Both of the new round robin options support the x game series format automatically. The single matchday option in particular was designed to support the WBC 34 & 36 format (where you play the same opponent 3 times during each matchday), not the WBC 37-present format (the 6 round robin where you play 3 different opponents every matchday). Here, by the way, is a table for a simulated 154 game season for an 8 team league (ranks used were from a few WBCs ago):

You can see the effect of the style mods there, as I applied style mods to the various teams (my own team certainly did a pretty good 1930 Phillies impersonation). The style mods, by default, can have some fairly large effects. For this scorination, all park factors were set at 100 (neutral).

I have tested this version on Windows 10 and the "Baseinator.bat" file should run Baseinator if you have Java installed. For some reason, clicking on the jar file directly does not seem to work.

Of course they do (unless the host decides otherwise, which would be a good reason to vote against a host bid imo). RP bonus has to be either directly added to the skill in the teams file or added in a separate bonus file (which associates it with a trigram and adds the bonus directly to the skill of all teams with that trigram). Either way, RP bonus in Baseinator is functionally equivalent to adding the bonus directly to the skill in xkoranate.
