The problem is that the WBC merely requires you to be eligible for citizenship of a certain nation to represent them, while most other competitions require actual citizenship. Israel's laws allow any Jew (unless you're a convicted murderer or something, which baseball players probably aren't) to become a citizen. Plenty of naturalized citizens have represented Israel in international competitions before. But they moved to Israel and actually got citizenship, with all its responsibilities, including military service. They were, for all intents and purposes, as Israeli as someone born there. The Americans on Team Israel are not Israeli citizens. That's the difference.

It's also worth noting that Spain allows anyone whose ancestors fled the country during the Franco regime to be citizens, so numerous people of Spanish descent who never set foot in Spain in their lives represented Spain in 2013. Those people would have to actually move to Spain, become citizens, and under Spanish law renounce their other citizenship, to represent Spain at other competitions.

I'd say wait until next Monday, which is a week before the RL World Baseball Classic starts. That way we can keep signups running during the first part of the RL WBC, as we previously discussed, without them running for too long. Up to you, though.

I will do that.

I have a question. As a user I own a dozen of nations and I'm planning to merge all my nations together (it was suppose to happen during the soccer World Cup but it's been delayed a little). My highest ranked baseball nation is this one, so it is possible to transfer my points to Union of Socialist Alpine Republics? I would join the next WBC with that nation and I wouldn't enter a puppet because the puppet is also merging.

Yes, we can transfer your ranking to another of your nations if you want. We have done it before.

However, I think it'd be pertinent to ask if your new nation has any IC connection to SDS? Like, did it inherit any players or anything? Because I don't think I am entirely comfortable transferring rank if there isn't even a slight IC connection.

Generally yes, there needs to be an IC reason to just directly transfer the rank.
You can probably do that in your first RP of the next WBC. I would be ok with it as long as we read about what happened in at least one RP during the WBC.

Yes, my new nation will be the merger of a dozen nations including SDS and the players will be from SDS, Hrvatska i Prekodunavlje and I may create some new players from Prusy Krolewskie.

I'll do it. I actually wanted to show what happened with my RPs in the World Cup as Prusy Krolewskie but I'm busy with real life and didn't really had the time.

In that case, I'd have no problem with it.

So like the reverse of the Soviet Union? Or, I suppose, perhaps like the Soviet Union when it was created, I'm really not familiar with Soviet history that much. In any case, yes, that's fine.

Edit: Deleting smileys that I have no idea where they came from.

Yeah kinda. It's like if the European Union becomes a country and France, UK, Germany, Italy and even the USA becomes socialist republics like in the U.S.S.R. The reason behind that is because I've created too much countries who all have different soccer, hockey, baseball and football leagues, so now I'm gonna have just two leagues per sport. For example a major league and a triple A league for baseball. So my country is a union of different nations, but I'm against it in real life. Also, Free Republics kinda inspired me to do it because of his large nation made with a lot of republics, but instead of going capitalist like him I've decided to go socialist and then I thought about my new nation name.

We could always do a cold war between the USAR and the FFR. ;)

Wow, we should actually do that kind of a role play between the communist/socialist countries and the capitalist ones. Schiltzberg is socialist, so I will be on that side of the iron curtain.

We're North Korean-style "We're basically corrupt communist except we don't call ourselves communist because our Dear Leader would never admit he didn't invent our economic philosophy."

yeah we can do it, I'm glad I have an ally. :D But other than athletes boycotting sporting events in the FFR I don't really have any RP ideas.

We're North Korean-style "We're basically corrupt communist except we don't call ourselves communist because our Dear Leader would never admit he didn't invent our economic philosophy."

The USAR doesn't likes North Korea style communist nations. The USAR identifies themselves as socialist but the population has more civil liberties and I'm not a single party nation.

Wait, but doesn't your nation not have any allies? It would be kind of a parodox if you joined an alliance. :P

My nation would be split because we are capitalist with socialism mixed in.

My favorite pokemon is Pelipper.

(For context: Pelipper's ability is Keen Eye)
